He still wasn't used to it. Living in an actual house with you. Having a simple life as a rancher. Sometimes he would wake up in the middle of the night, wondering why he couldn't hear Nature's sounds, the crackling of the fire, the intimate, enveloping whispers of the others through the cold air. Uncle's snoring. Dutch's hushed orders. Hosea's tales. Javier's strumming. John and Abigail's bickering. Those strange thoughts gripping at his throat, he would turn his head, and spend a few minutes looking at your sleepy face, until he'd fall asleep again.

It all felt so odd, but also so good, in this new, refreshing, vital way; the same feeling one gets when he's finally back home after many years on the road, having almost forgotten how it felt. Except he wasn't back at home. He was discovering it. You had built it for him.

And those sweet, lazy mornings were a complete slice of Heaven to him. Laying for hours in bed with you. Drinking coffee, talking, laughing, you always pulling a smirk out of him even on his grumpier days. Sometimes cooking together. Subtle golden sunrays, as slothful as the both of you, gently illuminating your eyes. Making love, kissing, again and again. Making one. And again. Following your lead, he had grown fond of sleeping naked against your skin, and walking around the room like so; you'd often laugh at how natural he looked -sometimes having his first cigarette like this, looking at the land that was yours with a gaze of fulfillment. He'd laughed back, the homey, shared sensation of belonging somewhere, to someone, spreading through his scarred chest and erasing its wounds like a sweet balm of intimacy, of domesticity.

Maybe he was getting used to it quicker than he had thought, actually.

Every time I see your Odysseus of Troy au I always want to draw him, I imagine Telemachus would look more like Penelope, a little more comfort for him. A small consolation for Odysseus to know that his beloved son looks like the woman he loves the most, now he will have a reference for Telemachus on what his mother looks like.

I imagine Odysseus as a very beautiful man, with a face always in mourning for how he was separated from his world.

This is so good it's insane! The rose earrings, the gold band, the sheer cloth, Ody's gorgeous sad brown eyes as he holds his little wolf & sings him a lullaby about making storm clouds cry & capturing wind and sky for him GOD!

And yes, Telemachus has Penelope's moles, face shape, hair & eye colours. Unfortunately, these similarities are a double-edged sword because Paris also has these physical traits, which fuels the rumour mill that Telemachus is truly his son. Luckily, Odysseus spends most nights telling Telemachus stories about Penelope & even carves a figurine of her so his son has further reference on what his true parent looks like.
