One Sided Love Triangles: Twisted Wonderland

Because I really hate it when someone has to lose. Anyway idk I thought these would be funny:

Jade vs Malleus- partially inspired by Private Thoughts of a Moray of course but also just like. The randomness of it. Jade has nothing against Malleus before he starts liking you at all, he's just a very powerful person who he would like to get close to so he can help him out. But now? Oooooh he hates him he hates him he hates him. He's the literal worst for getting to be close to you when no one else is close to him and Jade has yet to dance across the line of suspicion that's keeping you from living happily ever after. Malleus thinks Jade's courtship efforts are deeply fascinating, probably asks Lilia if ritual self humiliation is part of the process, and gets a very disappointed look sent his way. He's rooting for Jade because someone has to take care of you when he's not around and an eel isn't a bad choice.

Floyd vs Ace- crabby is little shrimpy's best friend and that makes him moody. Floyd wants to be happy when Yuu come in to basketball practice with his water bottle, but the only reason you brought it was because you found it on your way to drop something off for Ace. Damn this is the pits, why can't all of your attention just be on him for once? Seven he wants it so bad he floats through practice like a jellyfish because of how dispondant he is. Meanwhile Ace thinks your crush on Floyd is super gross but he's not going to judge. To the point Yuu starts to worry they're being set up for failure when encouraged to confess.

Trey vs Rook- you would think that Trey knows better than to assume Rook is in love with everyone he compliments but there's just something about watching you two interact he doesn't like. He tries to rationalize it by assuming it's because he likes you, and he wants to be capable of fligrting with you but he's not like this when Cater makes joking passes or when random mob students actually do. Rook decides he finds this funny and determines to play into it so he can goad a confession out of Trey. Love is truly beautiful ♡

Ace vs anyone who can breathe- he's delusional. He loves Yuu so much the idea that some people aren't interested in the same way he is just doesn't enter his mind. Might have something to do with how much he's denying his feelings that he's constantly assuming the worst but when Cater tries to tell him that he doesn't make it super far into Ace's skull...

Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

He is severe in his ministrations. Any way that a person can show love he will do. Giving you presents, complimenting you continuously, holding you to his chest, and simply sitting with you for tea. He is obsessive and if you're in a room his attention is on you. He can get intense with his love giving you terrifying gifts, telling you terrifying confessions of love, holding you a little too tightly, and staring heavily from the seat across from yours.

Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

Jervis isn't a stranger to getting his hands, metaphorically, dirty. The only person safe from his violent acts is you. Anyone who gets in his way of you can and will meet a cruel end.

Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

He is as sweet as he was before, and if you hadn't met him before then he's as sweet as he always planned to be. He might mock, but not purposefully, it's just the delusions making him think what he's saying is true, not an insult.

Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

Of course he would, he's a hypnotist. Jervis will invade your mind so often you may start losing touch with time with how many chunks of it are missing.

Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

He is an open book. He'll spill his guts to you so quickly. You are his biggest weakness and he is more than willing to show you any and everything he has so long as you ask him too. He'll be nervous to be so open in the start but soon enough his madness will flow like a river.

Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

Jervis doesn't understand why you won't just let him love you. You're the love of his life why can't you just love him back?

Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

He absolutely hates that you keep trying to leave. Why are you running what are you the white rabbit? He wishes you'd tired yourself out already with these stupid games.

Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

Watching the people you love or care about die. If they get involved or make Jervis feel threatened in any way he will make you watch as he disposes of them or make them dispose of themselves.

Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

A domestic dream. He plans for the perfect wedding and living happily ever after, with a few kids if you want that.

Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

Jervis absolutely gets jealous. Before he kidnaps you he'll cover it up well and hypnotize the idiot responsible later into ending their own lives. After he kidnaps you he's much more deranged about it. He'll hypnotize them while standing behind you, holding your shoulders to make sure you watch.

Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?

He's an absolute sweetheart with a dark manic twist. He's clingy and intense. It's like if a golden retriever and Cujo mixed and became obsessed with you. He'll treat you like royalty like his world is nothing but you.

Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

Jervis is a gentleman. He brings you flowers and clothes. Cooks you food and makes you tea. His way of flirting is to shower you in compliments. Before kidnapping you, you might think he's the perfect man with the sweet words and gifts. After kidnapping you, you see through the gentleman act even though he does all the things he did before but things are more extreme and darker. He'll cling to you more and be more aggressive with things.

Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

Absolutely not. Like I said before he is an open book. Of course, he's sweeter to you than he is others, but that's because he loves you not them.

Naughty: How would they punish their darling?

Jervis doesn't really do punishments. He'll hypnotize you to get you to listen, but he doesn't take any disciplinary actions against you.

Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?

Mostly just your freedom, and occasionally their sense of reality. You can still do the things you love you just have to do them from the comfort of the beautiful home he murdered the family of and trapped you in.

Patience: How patient are they with their darling?

Jervis switches up frequently. Other days he's calm and patient as you cry and scream, and other days he's grabbing your hands and hypnotizing you to shut up. He can be extremely patient, but the man craves your love and needs some reprieve from your screaming.

Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

If you die a whole lot of people are going to as well. He's already lost one love losing another will drive him to a place darker than he's ever been. If you leave or escape it doesn't matter where or for how long he will bring you back. He'll manipulate, murder, and search until you're back in his arms.

Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

No, and no. Jervis doesn't feel guilty for kidnapping you, but he does pity you. He doesn't get why you are so upset by this, but he will still empathize the best he can. He's not going to let you go and if you escape he will find a way to bring you back.

Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?

He's always had this side to him, but losing Alice drove him off the little pillar of sanity he had balanced on for so long.

Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

It upsets Jervis so much. He doesn't understand why you can't just listen to him. He'll hypnotize you to make you stop or he'll hold you for hours as you try to wiggle away.

Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

Not really, he'd never kill you, at least not on purpose, he'd kill so many people for you, he'd manipulate, and he'd kidnap.

Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

Play into Jervis' delusions a little bit. Manipulate him back and you may be able to escape for a very short period of time.

Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?

Not physically, but mental manipulation takes its toll. Sometimes though he might put a little something in your tea to help you sleep.

Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?

Jervis can and will kiss your feet like a follower to their god. He thinks the two of you were destined to be together. You're the love of his life and he will worship you till the day he dies.

Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?

A few months. He may be quick to fall in love, but he's a gentleman. He'll try to hold out but he probably only lasts for 1 or 2 months. He just can't help it and you aren't taking the hint! What else is he supposed to do.

Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?

If permanently hypnotizing you counts as breaking, then yes. Then again, he might just drive you insane. Jervis would try his best not to get you to that breaking point, but the confusion that comes with him mixing reality and fantasy and hypnotizing you repeatedly is bound to drive anyone over the edge.

i think it's hard to understand the level of betrayal crowley must have felt, which leads to a lot of assumptions around him easily forgiving aziraphale or not being angry; so let's put ourselves into his position.

imagine: your partner, your best friend, the one person in the world that you love more than anyone else, asks you to change how you look, how you talk, who you are—so you can follow them back to an abusive household that threw you out and told you to never come back.

and they tell you that happy and excited and it's not even a question, it's a "by the way, we're doing that, isn't that great?"

you try to tell them no, it's not, i don't want to go back there, i like who i am now. they hurt me and scarred me for life, and they will do it again.

the person you loves, the person you thought loves you, looks at you and says "but you're bad. don't you want to be good? they can make you good."

come with me, you say. that house doesn't want us, we can have our own, we can build our own home. just the two of us, we don't need them, we're fine the way we are.

"i can change them" they say, as if you didn't try. as if you didn't try to change them first. as if that wasn't the reason they threw you to the wolves.

would you immediately forgive them if they showed up on your doorstep? or would you be heartbroken and angry? you miss them, you still love them, but FUCK YOU. fuck you for demanding that of me. fuck you for everything you said. FUCK YOU FOR LEAVING.

it would already be hard to forgive a person you have loved for two years or ten, and it gets worse the longer you know them. six thousand fucking years and aziraphale did that. we know why he did. we know how their story will end, but crowley doesn't.

all crowley has is aziraphale's speech and his face disappearing behind elevator doors. all crowley has is you're the bad guys and come with me and nothing lasts forever and i need you and i forgive you.

love alone does not and cannot fix that. aziraphale took six thousand years of trust and set them on fire with a smile on his face, and i understand the urge to try and find an explanation where he doesn't do that. where everything is secretly fine.

but there isn't.

aziraphale needs to rebuild that trust, he needs to earn it again. and mot importantly, he needs to understand why his words and actions broke it in the first place. but even then—even if crowley is the kindest possible version of himself and aziraphale does everything right—even then crowley would have every single right to say i don't forgive you. i love you and i understand you, we can be together, but i cannot forgive you for that and we both have to live with that now.

they will get their happy ending, i do truly believe that, but it might not be the fairy tale happily ever after you imagine and that's okay. it still counts. it's still good.

let crowley be angry and let them find their way back to each other, even if that path does not include forgiveness.

cw: reki kyan x m!reader; reki and reader are childhood friends; basically reki realizing his feelings for you; this is set in ep 6 (when they're at that vacation yk??); reki coming out to joe???

Reki has always wanted to experience teenage love. You know, like those cliche teenage shows, where the main character catches feelings for their best friend and they live happily ever after. Or where the calm and smart girl falls in love with the reckless and stupid boy from her class. He wanted to experience something like that.

But yet, everytime a girl confessed to him, he would find himself rejecting the poor girl with a sad smile.

Now, he wouldn't call himself ‘popular with the ladies’. But there were times where at least one girl in the max of 2 months would confess her love to him.

“You want to date someone, yet you always reject those poor girls.” You would say with a playful tone in your voice, as you play with Reki's little twin sisters.

Reki would only scoff in return, laying his body down on the bed with his hands resting behind his head. “It's not that easy. I first want to get to know the person more.”

He would always use that as an excuse. But deep down he knew the cause of his rejections was different. He just couldn't pinpoint it out.

Until that vacation.

It was just a normal vacation to the beach with the skate gang. To relax and have fun after all the stressful days full of work and school.

God, he felt weak. You weren't even doing any kind of cute expressions. But just you looking at him with those mesmerizing eyes of yours was making him go through all kinds of emotions.

“It's- nothing! Just thinking about some board designs that i have to make when we get back.” He said with a forced smile, while ignoring his speeding heart and the heat covering his face. Maybe he really stayed under the sun too much.

“C'mon, Rekiii~ We're on vacation! Stop thinking about work.” You whined in return, while softly shaking his shoulders, making the redhead laugh in return.

Maybe he was just going crazy. Maybe it was because of all those rom-com movies that he watches with his sister, where the two childhood friends fall in love together at the end. He should stop watching these. They're not even that interesting…

But in those movies, the childhood friends are always a girl and boy. You and him are two boys.

Throughout his whole life, he thought he was straight. Just a boy who loves girls.

And now…

“Do you have anything else to talk about?” Joe asked, noticing the teenager’s depressed look on his face. “I feel like there's something more than just asking me about my trick.” He added with a smug smile.

Reki bit his lip, nervous to speak about this… other topic. Heart speeding up again and palms getting sweaty. Should he? It's not everyday to ask a trusted adult about such stuff. Maybe he'll understand… Maybe.

“So like…” The redhead started nervously, catching the adult's attention once again. “What do you think about… same gender couples?” He muttered out the last part, his cheeks flushing in embarrassment. This was so awkward…

“Hmm, they're fine. Like any other couple.” Joe responded with the same playful tone in his voice.

Now facing Joe, Reki was quite lost in his train of thoughts. His whole life he has seen how people mock others who are open about their different sexual orientation. They either throw offensive comments, or straight up bully them. It wasn't a nice view, but he never really knew how to stand up against the bullies to defend the innocent. It wasn't something that he was very familiar with.

“Don't you think it's weird?” Reki blurted out, making Joe look at him, curiosity forming on his smug face.

“Do you think it's weird?” Joe asked back, making Reki freeze in place, his words dying in his throat.

Does he think it's weird? He never really has thought about it before. It's not that he gets disgusted by queer people or anything. In fact, he can't even think of a moment where he felt ‘icky’ about them. He always accepted them as normal human beings.

“I don't… think so?” Reki mumbled in response, while rubbing the back of his head.

“Then why are you so stressed about it?” Joe playfully asked once again, trying to lighten up the mood somehow. “Did you perhaps catch yourself crushing on a boy?”

Crushing. Was that it? Was that what he felt for you all those years?

Absurd. You were his best friend. The person who has been next to him through the best and worst parts of his life. Skating with him even after all the fatal incidents that have happened. You two had an unbreakable bond.

But he just can't shake that tingly feeling whenever he sees you smiling and waving at him. Letting him talk about his favorite stuff, fix your board and praise him for it. He felt like a little puppy getting treats for doing a simple trick.

“I don't know…” The teenager finally spoke, as he brought his knees up to his chest, burying his chin in them. “It's so weird, because now that i think about it, i've always felt like that for him. But just now i'm realizing what exactly that feeling is.”

“It's normal to feel anxious while you're still figuring out your feelings. Especially if they're about someone close to you.” The adult spoke in a comforting tone, as Reki felt his hand petting him on the head. “Just take your time. No pressure needed.”

Maybe he was overthinking it too much.

Maybe it was just the hormones talking.

But he cannot deny the fact that you were probably the first guy ever to make him question his sexuality.

He won't admit it now. But deep inside, he knew that what he was feeling for you, was more than just a platonic crush.

Canon universe story where Crowley and Aziraphale are safe. In fact, they are about to go to a wedding. As Aziraphale dresses up, Crowley moans that he doesn't want to go, but Aziraphale doesn't give him a choice. And, in the words of the writer, with good reason.

Will You Ever Stop Surprising Me? by curiouspupsicle. Rated M, 1k. P. Aug 24.

This fiction is a little gem. Set in a hypothetical future after our heroes averted the apocalypse again, it focuses on Crowley wondering if he might ever get bored of life on earth with Aziraphale. and then spending the rest of the story trying to catch up with all the ways the angel still surprises him. In the words of the writer, this is a story about Aziraphale being sex-positive. But it's that and so much more. It's joyful, it's clever, it's funny. The characterisation is spot on. I would have loved to have more of these two in this fiction!

This is another absolute gem that I loved so much this month! It shows us moments in time when Aziraphale and Crowley have attended weddings. It's a mix of past, future, better times, warm feelings and happiness. Deep and beautiful. Some fictions you can clearly put it into words why you liked them, and some just speak to you at a deeper level, they just touch something inside you, and this is one of those.

Very few fictions manage to convey such intense feelings of sweetness and hotness alike in such a short tale as this one! Aziraphale asks Crowley if he's ever had sex and reminisces about his own solo experiences.

Aziraphale is in heaven and Crowley, as heartbroken as he is, replaces him in making sure the London Hospital Angel Tree initiative has presents for all the patients. Meanwhile, Aziraphale worries that, with him in heaven, some patients will be left with no gifts, so he has to go down to earth and fulfill the patients’ wishes. Hurt, comfort, communication, intimacy, South Down cottage, AND Christmas all in one fiction, what more do you want?

He seeks the advice of his girlfriends, who unwittingly give him an idea on how to liven up his marriage. A fluffy and hopefully funny way to the South Downs cottage.

So I have this need to Buck to be upset and trying to get in contact with Tommy to get clarity, only for him to get voicemail etc. And then Buck's angry and starts trying to force himself to move on (but not being able to).

And then for the 118 and 217 to COINCIDENTALLY attend the same incident, but the 217 are standoffish and curt instead of their usual chill selves.

And one of them throws out a 'be careful, if you end up in the hospital the 118 don't care', and it turns out Tommy's been hurt bad and is in a medically induced coma, and everyone assumed that Buck didn't give a shit enough to visit him.

As soon as they realise he didn't know, they change their tune and are like 'why are you still here, go see him'.

(I just don't want Tommy to entirely be the bad guy I guess 😅😅😅😅)

Yes to all of this! I read your message earlier and I was like "Hmm medically induced coma is a bit much maybe" but nope. This is the 10 year old landing a plane on the freeway show - crash that helicopter and put that man in a coma!

And I want the 217 crew to race buck to the hospital - Athena will make sure the entire LAPD will look the other way. And then a dramatic hospital bedside love confession after one of the doctors tells him there's been no improvement since he was first admitted and they're not sure if he'll ever wake up.

and then buck kind of passes out in the chair next to tommy's bed after barely *moving* for at least three days... and THAT'S when Tommy opens his eyes. Maybe just when Chim or Eddie comes to check on Buck.

And Tommy's all "let him sleep" but chim/eddie/whoever is like "uhm no, i don't have a death wish, thanks." and they wake Buck up and they have a dramatic reunion before they both remember they're supposed to be broken up. But Tommy is too weak to have long conversations, so Buck just tells him to get some rest because they have all the time in the world to talk and work things out, and then promises he'll be there when he wakes up.

And they live happily ever after somewhere tim minear can't hurt them!

Been thinking about (and acting out) a Fantasy AU where mage m!reader is former a adventuring buddy with a knight/mercenary. They end up having a FWB relationship but neither are willing to put a label on it. Maybe due to internalised homophobia, maybe due to the knight being from a dying house that he is obligated to raise to greatness once more.

They end up saving the kingdom and all is well until the knight requests a Princess's hand in marriage. The king agrees; the reader is heartbroken and disappears to a piece of land he asks as a boon. Reader and knight have a blowup afterwards argument where they both say things they can't take back.

Fast forward a decade or two. Reader is raising a child (can be adopted or magically created) when the great ball/the young Prince's birthday celebration happens. Kid (that's what I'm calling them for the rest of this. Prompt? Dump?) wants to go but reader forbids as he says it's not safe these days and that they needed to be there to keep the illusion spell covering their home running. The real reason being that he just doesn't want to see the knight– now king, again.

The kid goes anyway and reader has a conniption. He chases them to the capital where the kid set up a trap for him. Turns out kid has been sneaking out to the capital a lot more times than they could count and befriended the young prince. They started to wonder why their fathers are so hush hush about their love lives and learn why through some palace rumors and the chief guard who was another one of reader's adventure buddies.

The prince also leads the king to the designated meetup point at which point he and the reader get trapped. The abrupt meeting is awkward at first, both parties remembering their last meeting, then the king asks reader why he disappeared, reader responds what happened to them, after a while of them just standing in silence, they have a tearful heart to heart after which they confess to each other. They then make out.

Say Gex ensues and reader gets bred until he gets covered in so much white it makes the Pillsbury Dough Boy blush. Then the lived happily ever after. The end.

I accidentally deleted my first draft, I want to cry. Btw, might turn this into an actual fic. Just gotta figure out what fandom to write it for.

Sighing a nervous breath you reached over to place your hand in hers, thankfully she hasn't pulled her hand away yet. You looked at her with adoration, the time was now.

♡ "How about, an outing? We get together and we go watch this new movie! Or you could.. consider it a date? If you want. I really like you Kagura, you're beautiful and considerate. I just want to show you the affection you give other people, you deserve it."

He felt his heartstrings being tugged at, or was that because of the sickness? Who knows. You got a bucket and filled it with cold water, you sat next to Yuki and dipped a towel in. After squeezing the water out; you placed it on his forehead.

♡ "Sorry, you're gonna be here for a while Sohma."

He sighed, he looked at you with a grateful smile though. Always kind.

"Thank you anyways, I appreciate your help. It has been more manageable with you here." You gave a little smile to him.

♡ "In my opinion, everything is a lot more manageable when you're around. That's why I'm so drawn to you, you're so sweet to be around."

so i started watching the kdrama "a good day to be a dog" recently and the ml makes me think of nanami so much it's not even funny. this fic is based on the plot!!

It's been about 5 months since your last breakup. You didn't really care for that ex, if you're honest. He immediately dumped you after you told him that kissing is off the table.

You could say that you are a bit unlucky when it comes to relationships and that's mostly because of that dastardly curse.

For as long as you can remember, your mom has been warning you to never ever let someone kiss you and to never kiss anyone, ever.

Otherwise you would end up like your cousin, doomed to live as a dog for the rest of his now shortened life.

It's his fault he got drunk and kissed a random girl, couldn't track her down in 100 days and didn't break the curse. But it was a pretty scary reminder of your family's curse.

Life moves on without waiting for you and there's no time to worry about your unfortunate love life in this society.

Today is another completely normal day at work. You walk to the school, greeting students along the way. The kids look awfully excited to go to school when it isn't exam season.

Youth must be fun. Especially sneaking around with your high school sweetheart.

While walking to your classroom, you run into your favourite co-worker, Gojo Satoru.

"Good morning!" He greets you smoothly, flashing you that perfect smile of his. You greet him back, always excited to see him.

"Are you free tonight? Because me and some other teachers are going drinking. Wanna come?" He asked you, and you nodded immediately. Of course you're going drinking with Gojo (and company). You could never refuse!

"Great! I'll send you the adress!" He waved you bye with a cheeky smile, going in his classroom to do homeroom.

Oh, right, you should probably be getting to that too. You can't set a bad example for your class by being late to homeroom.

You walk past the classroom where Nanami teaches and you have no idea why, but you stopped in your tracks to look at him a little.

You're not sure why, but he doesn't seem to like you at all. He always seems a bit distant and uncomfortable around you.

It kind of makes you sad. And it doesn't help at all that you constantly have to read notes about how hot he is after you confiscate them from your students.

What is up with this school and attractive teachers, anyways? Your students just barely got over Gojo and now they're thirsting over Nanami. Not that you can blame them.

You continue on, opening the door to your classroom. "Good morning!"

"Good morning, teacher!" The students shout back.

When you get to the meeting spot, Shoko is already waiting there. She greets you calmly.

"Hi. Uhhh..." you don't know where to go from here. It's kind of awkward just standing around and waiting for the others to arrive.

"You like Satoru, don't you?" Shoko asks suddenly, smiling at you.

"Huh?! How did you know?!"

"It's... obvious. But today's your chance. He's in a good mood when he gets drunk, you could attempt something." Shoko raised her brows.

Well, there isn't much to attempt if you can't kiss. Will a kiss-less confession work?

"Hello~" Gojo interrupted you just as you were about to answer Shoko and you jumped a little in surprise.

Nanami was standing next to him. Oh, so he invited him, too... You have a feeling this is going to get a little awkward.

While the lot of you headed to the bar, Shoko walked next to Gojo, talking to him about various things you didn't really care about.

That meant you were walking next to Nanami... in painfully awkward silence. Yikes.

"How was your day?" You asked with a painfully forced smile.

"It was fine." He answered simply, not even trying to continue the conversation. Right, you should just be quiet.

There's no use in getting buddy buddy with Nanami.

"Let's dig in!" Gojo grabbed the meat happily while Shoko and Nanami both immediately grabbed the bottle.

Eager to drink, aren't they...

Shoko nudged you gently. "Just wait till he gets drunk and then go in for the kiss. He likes them bold." She whispered.

You smiled and nodded awkwardly, unable to tell her why that's impossible for you.

You had loads of fun from there on out and all of you got atleast a little drunk. Turns out Shoko is more of a party animal than she lets on. Maybe you were wrong, this little get-together isn't awkward at all!

"I need some air, excuse me." Nanami bowed slightly, getting up and walking outside. Still as monotone and polite as ever when drunk, you suppose.

After about 10 minutes, Gojo's phone rang and he drunkenly excused himself to answer the call. If you weren't drunk as hell too, you would be worried about how the call will go. I mean, I doubt a professional call can go well when the other person keeps giggling and talking nonsense.

"Just goooo for itttt~" Shoko encouraged you after Gojo left your fields of vision, drunk out of her mind. To be fair, you weren't any less drunk right now, so you weren't thinking straight at all. You got up and ran off after Gojo. Who cares about a stupid phone call, you've got a man to kiss!

And there he is, on the corner behind the bar! You'd recognise that greyish blue jacket from a mile away! You cling onto him, giggling happily and he seems to call out to you.

"I love youuuu...." you slurred out, squinting your eyes at his face. Man, it's hard to see his face in the dark and with blurry vision to boot. No matter, you still know the general area of the lips.

"I wanna date youuuu.... and you should be my boyfriendddd..." you grabbed his cheeks and faintly heard his voice again. You can't make out anything he's saying right now. It's like a weird trance that your drunken determination put you in.

You pressed your lips to his, sighing. It's a weird feeling for sure, but not all that bad! Ahhh, this all feels like a dream! After a long long time, you finally got to kiss someone. And it's Gojo Satoru no less!

"What the f.... Nanamin?!"

A shiver ran all the way from your toes to the top of your head. You looked at the direction of the voice. It's.... Gojo?! That's definitely Gojo, standing to your right and looking really surprised. But, then...

You looked back at the person who's cheeks you're currently holding to find... brown eyes staring at you. No way.

Now that you think about it, both Gojo and Nanami are wearing a greyish blue jacket. Oh no... Oh no no no no.

You sobered up almost instantly which was an out of body experience, one that you've never experienced before. Not only did you kiss the wrong guy in your drunken state, the curse also completely slipped your mind. Is it almost midnight already?! How are you going to explain this tommorow?! Why did it have to be Nanami?!

There's no time to panic, you have to get OUT OF HERE. STAT.

"I am so so so sorry!" you gently push Nanami away, running off and accidentally pushing Gojo slightly which made him stumble.

"Wait, why are you leaving already?!" Gojo called out after you but you ignored him. You have to get home to your family. Then you're safe. All you have to do is make it there before midnight or you'll turn into a dog.

Oh jeez... this innocent night which was supposed to go your way ended up becoming a nightmare.

Now you have to get Nanami of all people to kiss you while you're a freaking dog.

Still, kissing him didn't feel all that bad...

Gale would be all like "I don't need saving" but John's like "so why are you locked away in a castle/tower/wherever princesses are locked away" and Gale nearly socks him

John is so stupid and charming, all dashing smiles and quick one liners while he's rescuing Gale, promises Gale a grand wedding once they return to his kingdom, and Gale's determined to just run off and savor his newfound freedom

but then Gale starts to fall for John's charm, his wittiness and absolute insufferable-ness, and starts discarding plans to escape so he can listen to John's jokes

at some point John confesses that he only rescued Gale to get out of a marriage to a princess he doesn't love, a diplomatic marriage, truly, so he was sent to rescue the captured prince, an old story about a man who was locked away whom, once rescued and married to his true love, would bring peace to the land

John of course thought this was some dumb story, didn't believe the king and queen when he sent him on this wild goose chase, but then he found Gale locked away just as the story said, and he's saddened bcs Gale's going to marry the princess and he'll have to back to a boring life of being an unmarried prince

they start to fall in love on their journey back, John finding Gale staring at him over fires and silently coming over to lay next to him in their makeshift tents, and John can't help but savor those precious moments before he has to let Gale go

but PLOT TWIST, the princess was not Gales true love, and John can't watch Gale get married to the princess before he says something and confesses his love for Gale

TURNS OUT that the princess wasn't Gale's true love, instead it was John, and they live happily ever after yada yada yada

Why would Hong Hee-joo hate The Little Mermaid?

I really appreciate it when literary references are made in relation to a character because it gives us special insight into their thoughts and informs their actions (past, present, & future) and also gives me an excuse to write meta about the series. A refresher on what The Little Mermaid (the Disney movie) is about:

It's a coming-of-age story about Ariel, a mermaid who is dissatisfied with her life in the ocean and is fascinated with the human world. She rescues a human, Prince Eric, from a shipwreck and falls in love at first sight. She sings to him but has to leave before he regains consciousness in order to avoid being discovered. On a mission to reunite with her one true love, she makes a deal with the devil reincarnate, Ursula, to transform her into a human in exchange for her voice. The conditions of the deal are as follows: Ariel has three days to complete her quest of making him fall in love with her, or she'll belong to Ursula forever in case she fails to succeed.

Shenanigans ensue once Ariel transforms into a human because Eric doesn't recognize her voice, a trick played by Ursula because of her beef with Ariel's father, King Triton. In the end, Ursula is defeated, Ariel gets to keep her voice, her father gives Ariel the blessing to get married to Prince Eric, and transforms her into a human unconditionally, and they live happily ever after on land.

Now, let's look at how Hong Hee-joo sees Ariel:

Up until Ariel's transformation into a human, she probably felt represented by her. The transformation in her case was marriage to Baek Sa-eon, which she agreed to in order to take care of her father and also because she had a little crush on Baek Sa-eon. I will die on the hill that she was actually willing to make this marriage work until Sa-eon started spouting his 'Don't develop any feelings for me, you're just a stand-in.' nonsense.

But, according to her, her fate is very different from that of Ariel's. Ariel gets to keep her voice and live happily ever after with her one true love. She had her cake and got to eat it too.

What about Hong Hee-joo?

Keep in mind that she meets her sister at the aquarium the day after Baek Sa-eon confesses to liking her (under the influence of alcohol) and starts acting skittish around her the morning after. We the audience know how obsessed he is with her, but she has no clue about his true feelings regarding her.

As far as she's aware, she is stuck in a loveless marriage with minimal interaction with her husband of three years, lost her voice, and never experienced unconditional love.

She is envious of Ariel's fate of being able to have it all when she can't even have one (the loving husband or her voice).

Little does she know that her story is still being written and she too will get to have it all.

Tesilid is some kind of unicorn student athlete who's good at both sports and academics. He's on the school team and at the top of the class

jk he's 2nd in class. Ailette is first.

Ailette starts off 1st year very smart but extremely unathletic. In their first sports day/festival/cultural equivalent, she and Tesilid are put together in a team. Ailette came up with the strategy and Tesilid provided the muscle for it to work (ie. for her to execute the finishing move). They win, but Ailette is embarrassed about how much she was struggling to keep up, so she tries to get fitter.

By their final year, Ailette's one of the scariest people to go up against in sports classes.

Tesilid watches her progress with warm eyes. He was already smitten from year 1. He just likes seeing her flourish and girlboss and be on top of her game.

(Hestio and Ephael might be on said team too in the 1st year, but they got disqualified/out about 3/4 through.)

Tesilid gets constantly taken advantage of by his classmates (asking for notes/homework/free lunch) and teachers (getting him to do their extracurricular admin work for them). Ailette whacks them for it. She gets a reputation for being his overprotective girlfriend ("It's not like that!!") (Tesilid, internally: it's not...? 🥺😞)

I haven't figured out Ailette's reason for avoiding dating yet but for Tesilid it's because he and the other 2 are being raised in an orphanage that is. very strict about religion. It's helpful for warding off Tesilid's admirers, at least. After the first time a very determined fan introduced themselves to his guardian, no one else tries to confess to Tesilid.

Home economics class... Ailette's homecooked food on the level of Gordon Ramsey... Tesilid's terrible tasteless food that he made with full concentration and furrowed brows and the equipment probably also breaks on him simply because he's unlucky like that.

Hestio and Ephael are free live entertainment in class.

Hestio and Ephael wingmanning Tesilid

In their 2nd year, Hestio and Ephael are in the neighbouring class. Tesilette's class constantly gets interupted by loud screams and shrieks of laughter and scolding from the next room.

Tesilette tutor them hard so they all get into the same class in their 3rd year. (Assuming classes are assigned based on test scores.) Hesphael have no idea why they're here in the same room as the other two on consecutive weekends. Can't you two have a study date by yourselves?????

Ailette is extremely serious about getting Hestio and Ephael into the same class as them because they're one of the few people she would trust as group members. Everyone else keeps freeloading off Tesilid !!!!!! Like yes Hestio and Ephael don't produce as much quality work as Tesilette themselves, but at least they care about Tesilid being treated fairly and with dignity! At least they'll make the effort and treat him as an equal and not as exploitable resource!

"Why would we join group projects with you!!!! The study sessions were enough!!!!!"

"Whenever we have home ecs class, I'll give you a portion of my food."

Ailette voice: tesilid why do you look upset. (Tesilid wants to eat her food too)

They graduate and then they get married and then they break Tesilid free of the shackles of his terrible guardians and birth religion (and get Hestio & Ephael out of there too while they're at it) and Tesilid is adopted into the Rodelines and then they get married again and then they lived happily ever after. Escape room: Not many would willingly lock themselves in a room with him, but this offered you a unique experience to share with him: solve the puzzle and best whomever thought they'd be able to trick you two.

After all is said and done, you'd have quite the stories and inside jokes to share between yourselves. Depending on your choice for these particular activities, he'd grant you with a feverish kiss―leaving you wanting more.

Caesar: He can be a tad sporadic when it comes to his personal feelings, but you seem to have come across him on a genuinely good day. You take your shot. He stares at you, scanning your face for your true intentions but lets his curiosity take over. So, yay?

You decide on something experimental:

Testing limits with high voltage: Gather a large amount of toys which are battery operated. Be sure to have a wide range of what the toys can actually do. Wire them up, see which ones start popping, smoking, and catch fire with different voltage levels.

Punkin chunkin: Pumpkins are pretty common to use for this activity, but why should you limit yourselves? Use items that may give you the messiest results! The most distructive! The most outright bizarre items to chuck into the air to create fun memories.

Once you both have had you fill of destruction and chaos for the time being, the excitement of it all would still be fresh. Laughing about some of the results, he'd suggest how you can make changes for next time. Wait, next time?

Corazon: Despite him being as preoccupied as he was, you couldn't hold back your feelings for him any longer. He's incredibly genuine, so when you confess your feelings, he blushes like mad. When you ask him out, he'd be flustered but still happily accept. Can't wait, right?

You come to something thoughtful:

Arcade/Retro arcade bar: You two would favor the games that were two player, of course. Even if he turned out to be better than you at the games, he'd let you win. On single players, you'd cheer each other on and try to top each other's scores. At the end of the date, you'd use your tickets to purchase prizes for the other.

Cooking for each other and having a movie night at home: Quality time is something he'd love to spend with you. Creating a meal together would be so romantic that he'd find it hard to stop smiling. Cuddling with a movie afterwards would make him melt and be ideal for kissing.

The night concluded in the most perfect way he could have imagined. Which ever option you decided on, he'd lean in a bit closer to give you the chance to show him you're interested in kissing. If you are, he'd love to show his appreciation. If not, a warm hug would do nicely.

oooooh nooo. did they actually fuck up Jing or is he just one of the characters you're annoyed they removed important scenes with?

If they knew they couldn't have CX actually kill Jing because of censorship, they should have worked on restructuring his arc up to this point so that made sense. They can't just give him the same arc and then change the logical conclusion.

I wasn't annoyed with Jing per se but I was annoyed at the removal of a lot of his arc - like when he literally gate crashes her ceremony of becoming a nun (!!!!) and I just think that the second half of s2 put him into background to such a degree he ceased to be interesting to me - he was barely there and not given much to do when he was - that reunion scene was just so abrupt and filmed so randomly, I didn't even have a chance to care. A lot of second half of s2 felt like Cliffs Notes version in general but it got really bad by the end and I think Jing was hit by that along with most of the rest.

He's lucky he wasn't Cang Xuan - what they did to that character and that arc are utterly criminal! I agree if they knew they couldn't have him be a killer, then rewrite it way earlier - as is, it is like building building building and then NOTHING.

But also, in wrecking his arc, it wrecks Xiao Yao as a character. In the novel, it made sense she peaced out never to be seen by CX again - the person closest to her killed her love AND also confessed he was in love with her and etc etc - in fact before Jing comes back, she was planning to become Holy Mother ie be in one place where CX could never gain admittance. She felt blindsided and betrayed by the person she loved most (even if as a family only.) By the time Jing came back and she got married, the relationship between the cousins was irrevocably broken.

But here? She NEVER finds out CX loves her romantically. He is not in any way responsible for Jing's death. Sure, he can't execute Xinyue for the murder because she's the queen and it will start a war, but especially after Jing comes back alive, it makes NO sense for XY to just peace out in such a fashion that CX can never see her again - like why how - he's her beloved brother who approved of her marriage and where there are good reasons why he didn't punish his queen who ultimately did not murder anyone (and owed her nothing) - none of it makes any sense! It makes her awful tbh. (They try to do the thing where he says if he could choose the crown or her, he'd choose the crown but she is not shocked and it's not treated as a reveal because it obviously isn't.)

The whole structure falls apart.

(It also makes Jing weaker because it's one thing to not be able to guard against the freaking emperor of the world and another a fellow clan and plots by idiot Xinyue.)

Honestly, demon boy is the sole character who emerged from this with any semblance of a coherent character.

The title doesn't even make sense any more - it always came across to me as largely about CX losing XY forever (and vice versa.) But why does he lose her forever here? It makes zero sense.

It's like if they made Goodbye My Princess and at the end "psych!!! it turned out FL's fam were all alive and protected by ML and she got her throat stitched up and they lived happily ever after." It's not that it's a bad twist in a vacuum but it makes no sense with these characters and this story.

I thought about something like this, how each of Ewan's characters would react and act if he (the character) really liked the reader (I mean on a level of suffering for love), but the reader didn't reciprocate those feelings.

Abraham:

He had set his eyes on you, it would be easy winning you over. But he hadn't expected the reader to refuse him, and he hadn't expected his infatuation to develop into extreme fixation. Suddenly when you're not around, he needs to know where you are, what you’re doing, with who. He hates not knowing. You don’t like him? Then maybe he’ll make you see that he is the only one for you.

Aemond:

He does not often fall in love, and he doesn't accept failure, so he must be certain his feelings are reciprocated. When it's clear it's not, he bids his time, denies his enragement to the world and waits for you to have no choice but to fall in his arms. You will eventually, he is sure of it, he had never stepped down to a challenge, and you're the greatest of them all, he needs to have you.

Billy Taylor:

Is sullen for months. It had taken so much time for him to gather the courage to confess, to tell you how much he cares about you. And it was all for disappointment. He doesn’t think his young heart can take it, and he doesn’t think it will ever heal either. Starts to pick up things you leave behind to collect them, because it reminds him of you.

Billy Washington:

Absolutely crushed. But he isn't even surprised, he never had any luck in life, so having someone like you love him back would have been too good to be true. He starts to be mean to his friend, real mean and soon he is afraid he’ll lose it in front of you. He can’t stand it.

He doesn’t really understand the feeling, this sensation in his stomach when he looks at you but he knows he wants more. He has to obey his body, because it feels so good, and refusal is not an option. He won’t get angry, he won’t be violent, but he will stalk, and he will watch. At first. Then it’s just you and your incessant habit to ignore him and he can’t take it anymore. He has to do something about it. He’s just not sure you’ll like it.

Genyen:

He knows his flirting technique isn’t perfect, but he at least expected something, some semblance of interest. Not indifference on your part and then complete avoidance. He admits that hooking up with one of their friends out of spite was not one his smartest moves, but at least he discovered from the jealous expression on your face that you might care after all. He’ll make you regret it at some level.

Michael Gavey:

He knows there is no chance you like him back, no chance you would even consider it. But he can't help but ask one day. He had to, it drove him crazy: how he thinks about you every single hour of the day as well as during his waking hours at night, how every time he sees you he has a cold sweat. It falters his focus far more than he allows himself to, and he has to do something about it. But the rejection hurt more than any others, and now he just has to try and not being a fucking creep about you until he finished uni. Easier said than done.

Osferth:

He doesn’t even know what to answer to Finan and Sithric when they ask him why he is sad all the time. How could he admit that it’s because he had suffered the greatest heartbreak of his life? How can he explain that he doesn’t feel like he couldn't live happily if he does not see you everyday, get to be close to you, talk to you. He wishes he could forget you ever existed. Maybe God will grant him this wish. But it's just a silly hope, and he is cursed to watch you from afar.

Tom Bennett:

Pretend he would get over it soon. Tells himself that you were "too good" for him anyway. But then time passes and he doesn't feel like this for anyone else but you, so he starts to unconsciously live his life around you. He thinks he will grow out of it eventually, but it doesn't. The disappointment makes him crave for what he would have had if he was with you, but despite the frustration he doesn't let it bring him down. Tom Bennett is never discouraged after all, and he will continue being his charming self with you whenever he can.

Will:

He tries. He really tries to let go and move on but knowing you don't feel the same is gnawing at him. Eventually he starts to feel angry, all the time and he blames you first, then himself. You were so nice to him, and now you act cold and distant. Soon there is only one thought in his head: he has to fix it.
