Democrats in the U.S. Senate on Monday evening blocked a Republican-led attempt to enshrine discrimination against transgender athletes in federal law. The lawmakers rejected the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. The bill, part of a more considerable conservative effort to roll back LGBTQ+ rights, failed to garner enough votes needed to advance.
After senators voted to confirm President Donald Trump's pick for education secretary, professional wrestling magnate Linda McMahon, the upper chamber considered moving forward with the anti-trans legislation. The bill was stopped by a cloture vote, which is a procedural motion that requires 60 votes to end debate and move forward. The vote was 51 to 45.
The legislation, introduced in the House of Representatives by Florida GOP Rep. Greg Steube and passed by Republicans earlier this year with the support of two Democrats, sought to rewrite Title IX protections by defining sex in athletics solely based on “reproductive biology and genetics at birth.” If enacted, the bill would have effectively barred transgender women and girls from participating in federally funded school and college sports.
The bill also called for federal studies on the impact of transgender inclusion in women’s sports and potential “adverse psychological and developmental effects” on cisgender athletes. There is no evidence that transgender athletes are a danger to cisgender peers. While it did not mandate physical examinations to determine an athlete’s sex, critics warned that its enforcement could lead to intrusive scrutiny of all female athletes.
The bill’s failure comes amid a broader, coordinated effort by Republicans to legislate transgender people out of public life. Just last month, Trump signed an executive order titled “No Men in Women’s Sports." Trump used the signing ceremony as an opportunity to spew inflammatory rhetoric, falsely claiming that men have “invaded” women’s sports and that male athletes are “beating up and injuring” women—a claim that has been debunked time and time again.
Human Rights Campaign president Kelley Robinson applauded the Senate’s rejection of the bill, emphasizing the damaging impact of such policies. “Every child should have the opportunity to experience the simple joys of being young and making memories with their friends. But bills like these send the message that transgender kids don’t deserve the same opportunities to thrive as their peers simply because of who they are. And they are impossible to enforce without putting all kids at risk of invasive questions or physical examinations just because someone doesn’t look or dress like everyone else,” Robinson said in a statement to The Advocate.
Trump’s executive order, which threatened to strip federal funding from schools and colleges that failed to comply with his ban on transgender athletes, has already triggered legal challenges. Civil rights advocates and legal experts have pointed out that executive orders cannot override federal civil rights protections, including those under Title IX, and the order is expected to be tied up in court for months.
“We should want all of our kids to have the chance to be on a team, problem solve with others, learn valuable skills, and find places to belong,” Robinson said. “Thank you to the leaders who stood up today, pushed back against those playing politics with young people’s lives, and declared that ours should be a nation where every child feels valued.”

hii katsuki x shy reader headcannons maybee??
Omg, Yess!!! Thank you for the request, Qyuin! :3
I'm scared of flies... I'm scared of guys...
Katsuki Bakugo x Shy! Reader headcanons ; gn, fluff, comfort.

Ever since the entrance exam, Bakugo didn't pay much attention to you. It wasn't because he was actively ignoring you, you just didn't really talked or participated.
The first time he realized your existence was in the physical testing with Aizawa. It was just a brief moment, but he tried to learn your quirk to somehow beat you in battle.
To him, you were just another extra in the way, another person he had to beat in order to be the N° #1 hero, so he was surprised by your sudden calm and friendly behavior as days passed by.
Of course, he answered with his usual yelling and cursing, telling you to go away and leave him alone. But you never gave up in trying to know him.
Bakugo would secretly keep every detail you give him. At first he would do this with everyone, but as his closet grew full of things he got rid of almost everything... Still, he couldn't get rid of what you gave him.
He would look at you with annoyance when you miss his Monday doodles, silently handing you his notebook for you to draw something small.
At first it feels like a one sided thing... Until you notice how he gives you the bigger portions of the food he cooks for the class, the juiciest parts and the sweetest servings of those cakes Sato bakes.
He knows you're shy, it used to annoy him so much. You would always take so long with talking while handing him something, but now he finds himself looking forward to those clumsy speeches you give.
He's really understanding, but he also understands that you have potential and a lot of it. In class he would tell you to rise your hand when you know the answer, taking your wrist in his hand and raising it for you. It feels like a mini heart attack, but that satisfactory feeling that you answered correctly is so relieving.
He will always follow those with an "I told you so" and a grin before looking back.
Everyone noticed his change in behavior, how he grew sweeter with you. He even knew what you wanted without you even talking... Everyone knew except Bakugo himself and that made everyone so angry at him.
That man is so oblivious to his own feelings.
You can't really tell when your "nervous because of people" turned into "nervous because of Bakugo". Your heart beats faster, you want to be so close to him, you start drawing more hearts and writing sweeter words and oh it makes Bakugo so... Happy?
He thinks that you've somehow infected him with your shyness or something because why else would he blush and feel so warm when you're close? He sees you running away more often, now the letters and drawings just appear in his backpack and he feels his heart missing a beat everytime he sees it.
It takes a few hangouts with the bakusquad before Mina snaps and hits the back of his head, saying "You're more annoying than ever! Can't you see that you like them? Like, you blush and all! Everyone knows! Get a grip!" And he seems to contemplate his whole life while everyone laughs, is that what that was?
He tries talking to you once... Twice... The third time he starts getting angry and there's no fourth time because he decides to do it your way.
His writing is honestly so lovely, a drawing at the end with a heart saying everything he feels. From how he hated you for being like a scared mouse to how he wanted to protect you.
He didn't knew how to look at you the next few days, his eyes darting from you to any other space he could.
When he grows the courage to ask you out you feel like fainting, because why is Thee Bakugo Katsuki asking you out? But you're with him holding hands while walking in the blink of an eye.
He's so sweet and knows when to stop his borderline cruel jokes and comfort you, never judging when you feel so much anxiety for things that are common for others.
He doesn't care that you go speechless when he holds you while watching TV on the common room's couch, it is nice and even you know you'll get used to it... Right?
He cooks for you constantly, he thinks is only fair to give back all you've given him that way.
At first he takes his hand away from yours because of how insecure he is of his sweat, but you just slowly search for his fingers to intertwine yours and the world stops around him.
You slowly grow more comfortable, being more vocal with him about your thoughts and even rambling about nothings. He doesn't ever complain, getting to listen to your voice is such a privilege that he doesn't ever wanna risk losing.
He's so proud to see you growing, working with your shyness instead of against of it, your charm never lost and you're so kind, he could never get tired to see you interacting with the world.
Bakugo makes fun of you from time to time, Joe red you get when he's too close and how your voice lowers when he teases you, you're just too cute, can you blame him?
But he would never be cruel to you, he likes to comfort you. Both of you laying on his bed and hugging, something he would never admit but he loves.
He just loves being around you, you're polar opposites and he can calm down around you while you get more talkative with him.
You're shy, not quiet, at least not around him. And he has learned to be a lot calmer when he's with you, the way his heart beats like crazy balances out that need for constant stress.
A/N: I hope I did good TwT I've read a lot abt Bakugo but I still feel like he's ooc, he's actually really complex! Thanks for requesting, this was so much fun!! (^з^)
Hey! Natan here! ; wanna read more about Bakugo? ; check out my masterlist.

SEOSPICY UPCOMING POST.

COCKY.
Bangchan x reader. (s,f)
Synopsis: As a researcher developing a specialized condom in extra large sizes, you never expected the company’s product manager, Chris, to volunteer as a test subject—let alone for things to get this complicated. Balancing professionalism with undeniable chemistry, you must navigate a partnership that’s strictly business… or so you keep telling yourself.
Preview under the cut!
...
Chris Bang is a name everyone in the company knows. As a product manager, he’s known for his reliability, innovative ideas, and ability to bring projects to life. He’s respected, well-liked, and a natural leader. A social butterfly who effortlessly navigates through the office, friendly to everyone he meets.
You, on the other hand, have only ever interacted with him in passing—polite nods, brief greetings when you cross paths in the hallway. So when you receive an invitation to meet him in his office, you can’t help but wonder why he suddenly wants to talk to you.
A few minutes before four, you find yourself lingering outside Chris’s office, nervously shifting on your feet. You check your watch, heart thumping. A little after four, Chris finally appears, offering an apologetic smile.
"My apologies for the delay," he says. "Please, come in."
You follow him inside, settling into the chair across from his desk as he takes his seat. He folds his hands on the desk, studying you for a moment before speaking. "Thank you for coming. I wanted to discuss something regarding your research."
You nod, trying to keep your curiosity at bay. "Of course. How can I assist you?"
Chris watches you carefully, his expression unreadable as he leans forward, resting his forearms on the desk. The slight shift in his posture draws your attention—just enough to make you hyper-aware of the space between you.
“What specific criteria are you looking for in a participant for your product test?” His voice is even, measured, but there’s something in the way he asks that makes your breath hitch for just a second.
You clear your throat, straightening in your seat. “The main requirement is that participants need to have a genital size above average.”
His lips quirk up slightly, though his expression remains composed. “And what qualifies as above average?”
You’re certain he already knows the answer, but you respond anyway, keeping your tone professional. “Anything more than 5.5 inches when fully erect is considered above average.”
A beat of silence stretches between you. Chris doesn’t say anything immediately, just sits there, tapping a finger lightly against the desk, his gaze flickering over you in a way that makes the air feel heavier.
Then, finally, he exhales, tilting his head slightly. “I may have a solution to your participant problem,” he says, his voice lower now. “I would like to volunteer.”
Your brain short-circuits for a second. “You… what?”
“I want to be a participant for your product test.”
You blink, your mouth opening slightly before snapping shut. Your grip on your pen tightens as you try to process what he just said.
He nods. "I see potential in your product, and I believe in its success. More importantly, I want to contribute to the company’s innovation."
You stare at him, still trying to wrap your head around it. "How exactly are you going to be a participant?"
Chris leans back slightly. "I ask that my involvement remains anonymous."
Your throat feels dry as you nod. "Alright. But how are we going to conduct the test if you want to remain anonymous?"
He watches you carefully before answering. "We can arrange to do it outside of the office, in secret."
Without another word, Chris pushes himself up from his chair and moves around the desk. He stops right in front of you, leaning against the edge of his desk, arms crossing over his chest as he watches you, waiting.
And that’s when it happens.
For the first time, you really look at him—not just as a well-respected product manager but as a man. The sharp cut of his jaw, the slight crease between his brows, the way his fitted white dress shirt does absolutely nothing to hide the definition underneath. How had you never noticed before?
Your eyes trail lower before you can stop yourself, a fleeting glance—until you realize exactly where you’re looking. The bulge against his dark slacks.
Heat floods your face as you snap your gaze back up, praying he didn’t catch that momentary lapse in professionalism.
Chris doesn’t comment on it, but there’s something almost amused in the way he tilts his head. He extends a hand toward you, expectant.
“So? Do you agree to this arrangement?” he prompts.
“Yes,” you regret for answering too quickly, making you sound way too eager. When in fact, you're just glad to finally solve the problem but also, yeah, okay, you can’t lie, you're a bit curious about something, about Chris.
Your fingers wrap around his, and as you shake hands, you feel it. The shift. The undercurrent of something you can’t quite name just yet.
...

and the results are in! wow, i didnt expect this to get so many votes, people really love to talk about their gender identities! ive been reading all the reblogs and comments of this post, and let me just say that the diversity found in this community is incredible! there are so many critters with interesting genders out there :}
also, look at these results! the numbers are just bonkers; i didnt expect this at all! the majority of the community identifies as trans male, but in comparison there are very few transfems... i wonder why that is. and the representation of lesser known gender identities, such as agender and xenogender, is also much higher than thought. very interesting stuff!
thank you everyone who participated! :D
random poll time! i was curious about the gender distribution of the alterhuman community so i made this. please only answer if you are otherkin, therian, fictionkin, otherhearted, holothere, archetrope, plural, or any other label under the umbrella
(im very sorry about the lack of options, i hit the maximum which is 12. again, if you are not alterhuman please refrain from voting on the poll. thank you :])

*Not my GIF*
Wally had watched you for the longest time. He'd love watching your meets as you would dive gracefully into the pool. As an athlete himself he was in awe of how fast you were once you hit the water. He didn't know if the Olympics were your dream but he knew you could make it if you wanted too. But that wasn't in the cards for you, instead it was a drunk driver, who pulled out of the school too fast and didn't see you as you were walking out to your car after a game.
You couldn't understand what was happening as you watched the ambulance pull away from the school, kids huddled together and crying.
Wally watched as you tried to get anyones attention. But no one could hear or see you. He was nervous as he first approached you, putting his hands up like you were a wild animal and he was trying to keep you calm.
At first you were relieved someone was talking to you, but then he broke the news. You had been hit and you were already dead when the ambulance pulled away from the school.
You were in denial for a long while, and Wally watched as you would just sit on the curb for hours, watching as everyone pulled away from the parking lot. Watching as the flowers that were laid down on your school parking spot, slowly rotted and blew away.
Wally would spend those days, sitting right next to you, and he waited. Waited until you were ready to talk, and when you finally did, you felt the damn break loose. You told Wally everything you were feeling, how sad you were, how angry you were at how unfair this all was. You told him about your life that he didn't get to see outside of school. How much you loved to read, how going to the lake every summer felt like a recharge for the rest of the year, when you first knew you loved swimming.
And in kind Wally told you about his life, what kind of music he listened to, how he wanted to travel when he got out of highschool and that he wasn't a big reader when he was alive; which made you chuckle.
After that day, you and Wally felt inseparable, being with him felt like the sun. Warm and comforting, he always made you laugh and you did the same to him; surprising him with how funny you were, he didn't know that about you.
You still like going to Group; Mr. Martin was a bit creepy and you always had issues with authority figures. But Wally liked coming to the group so you sat there and participated here and there. You never shared anything personal with the group, well anything that was real. You saved that for your time with Wally.
Which often felt like this one, where you would go into the pool and do laps, or float on the surface of the water, while Wally watched on the edge of the pool. He loved watching you do flip turns, amazed at how fast you were, how fast you could cut through the water.
You came up from under the water and smiled at Wally, who was floating in the pool next to you, watching as you would flip and do handstands in the shallow end of the water. When you came up again, you saw Wally had made his way over to the steps of the pool, he sat there and watched you. His smile was contagious as he watched you.
"What are you looking at, Clark?" You asked, flicking water towards him.
"I think it's some kind of pool nymph." He teased.
"A pool nymph?" You chuckled.
"Yeah, and she's mesmerizing."
"Mesmerizing huh?" You asked, as you swam closer to him.
"Oh yeah. Just one of the many adjectives I'd use to describe her."
"Oh? And what are these other adjectives that you'd use? I know you're not a big reader, so this will be fun to see how many you actually know."
"Hey! I think my vocabulary has increased immensely since I met you."
"Thank goodness for that! I don't think I could handle you saying "Rad" for the rest of eternity."
"As if, "Cool beans" is any better!" He huffed before flicking his fingers in the water, splashing you in the face.
"Hey!" You scowled, grabbing his bare thighs and bringing your face close to his, but stopped inches in front of his face.
Wally tilted his head, his brown eyes holding yours. "Hey what?" He smiled. His eyes moved to your lips.
"I-" You stuttered, feeling your cheeks heat as you remembered where your hands were. “I don’t actually remember what I was going to say.” You chuckled, before leaning in and gave Wally a quick kiss on the lips, intending to give him a quick kiss and then swim away. But Wally had other ideas on the matter, before you could turn your body away he grabbed your hips and placed you so you were sitting on his lap. His large hands wrapped themselves around your waist bringing you back in for another kiss.
“I wasn’t done telling you about the beautiful pool nymph I saw.” He smiled against your lips.
This wasn’t the first time you and Wally kissed, not by a long shot, there were so many times where the two of you would sneak off when Wally was supposed to be in Group, kissing in the locker room. Sometimes you two would get really hot and heavy, but before anything could happen there was always something that had you two breaking apart. Whether it was Charley or Rhonda catching you two in the heat of the moment or someone else barging in, sometimes it was really hard to get a moment alone with your hot boyfriend in your own afterlife.
But, you had a feeling that this time would be different.
You let out a small little moan as you felt Wally’s tongue dance with yours. His large hands roaming down to your backside and giving you a little squeeze. You pulled away from the kiss, earning a groan from Wally. “You didn’t finish describing this pool nymph to me.” You grinned.
“Well I told you that she was mesmerizing and beautiful. I would dare say graceful as well.”
“Graceful huh?” You smiled leaning in to brush a kiss to the edge of Wally’s soft lips, before pressing another one to his jawline earning a low moan from him. You made sure to pocket that reaction for that spot in particular for later.
“Y-Yeah graceful.”
“What else Wally?” You teased, sucking on that spot at his jawline, before moving down to his neck, placing a soft kiss to his carotid, before sucking on the spot where his pulse point would be. You chuckled as you heard Wally stutter, losing his words and losing them fast as you sucked and kissed your way down his neck.
“Breathtaking.” He moaned out.
As you kissed Wally, making sure to pay attention to the other side of his neck like you did the first, you could feel him grow hard underneath you. “What else Wally?”
“Baby. Please.”
“Please what Wally?”
“Stop torturing me.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about. Im just listening to all the ways that you’re describing this beautiful pool nymph.” you mumbled against his skin, taking your tongue and dipping it into his collarbone, before taking that golden chain necklace into your mouth and sucking on the pendant there.
You looked up at Wally’s face and smiled. He looked so tense, his hands were gripping noticeably harder on your ass as he looked down at you.
“Unless you want me to stop?” You asked, placing a quick kiss to the center of his chest. “Do you want me to stop Wally?” You asked and placed another kiss on his chest.
“No.” He ground out.
You gave him a wolfish smile. “I didn’t think so.” You purred, leaning your head back down so you can trace your tongue around his nipples. Wally leaned back, letting out a low groan.
“You’re so sweet to me Wally.” You said softly against his skin as you traced your tongue down his stomach, and dipped in his belly button, earning another deep moan from Wally. You looked back up to him, your body now on the step just below him, your hands poised on top of the waistband of his boxers. “Can I be sweet to you?” You asked him innocently.
Wally’s eyes went wide. “Baby.” He said his voice came out breathy before he let out a small cough to clear his throat. “Baby, are you sure?” He asked his hand coming out to brush a small piece of hair out of your face.
“Yes Wally. I want to do this for you.”
Wally let out a breath that seemed to be a mix of desperation and relief. His hands were reaching for the waistband of his boxers and you took that as your sign that he wanted this as bad as you did. You helped him pull his boxers off and let them float off in the pool, before leaning back down to Wally. Running your tongue down the soft “V” on each side of his hips, earning a low whimper from Wally.
You looked up at Wally, as you ran your hands up and down his thighs, while taking in how hard he was for you and you smiled up at him. “All this for me?” you teased.
“Yeah baby.” He said breathily. “Only for you.”
You were in control in this situation but you grew wet at Wally’s words, surprising yourself at how just those simple words of admiration had you growing slick in between your legs. “Only for me huh?” You said reaching for him, giving his cock a slow pump with your hand, earning a stuttering lift of Wally’s hips for you.
You smirked, biting your lip. “So sensitive.” Leaning down to run your tongue around the head of his cock. Wally let out a low moan, as you took him deeper into your mouth letting your tongue trace around the head of his cock, and relaxing as he slid deeper for a moment before having your hand join the efforts of your mouth.
“I love it when you make those little moans, Wally.” You whispered, before continuing to pump his cock with your hand as you took him back into your mouth.
You didn’t have a lot of experience doing this, but you were an avid reader and Wally seemed to love it when your tongue did this particular motion. You smiled to yourself as you felt Wally’s hands find their way into your wet hair, gathering the wet strands in a messy clump and fisting it in his hand. You felt Wally’s hips jerk every now and again as he fought the urge to pump his hips and thrust his cock deeper into your hot little mouth.
You hummed in satisfaction against his cock, and that seemed to have Wally taking a ragged breath.
“Baby.” He breathed. “I’m really trying here.”
You hummed again, the vibrations seeming to send Wally closer to the edge. You popped your mouth off of his cock and looked up at him, taking in the tensed way he pulled his eyebrows together and how he bit down on his bottom lip, making it a darker pink.
“Trying to do what?” You asked innocently, as you rested your head against his strong thigh, your hand still pumping his cock.
“Trying to not, fuck your mouth.” He breathed out. “I know you haven’t really done this before and I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”
You hummed again, he really was the sweetest boy you’d ever met. You’d never thought you actually like sucking dick, but with Wally, as he whined and moaned above you, letting you bring him closer and closer to orgasm. You didn’t think you could actually get enough of this, of him being this vulnerable for you, you felt drunk off of the way his puppy eyes looked down at you, awestruck.
“Wally.” You said breathily. “I have your cock in my mouth and I am so fucking wet for you right now. And if I’m uncomfortable, I’ll just give you a little nip.” You chuckled and leaned back down and licked up the shaft of his cock before taking his head back into your mouth.
His hands, delved deeper into your hair, and his hold felt a little tighter, as he bucked his hips to your mouth still holding back, but not as much as he was before.
“Oh baby.” He moaned. “God you look so pretty like this. Your pretty mouth wrapped around my cock. I wish I could take a picture of you right now.”
You moaned, at his words, feeling yourself grow wetter between your legs, and started to pump him faster, your mouth and hand working in time together to bring Wally closer to release.
“God damn it, baby.” Wally groaned, his hips increasing their speed, just enough that you started to feel water in your eyes, but you didn’t want to stop not when Wally was so close.
“Fuck, baby. I’m not going to last much longer if you keep that up.”
That was your cue, you squeezed Wally’s cock harder with your hand before sucking him down again and felt him come inside your mouth. You pulled away, unable to fully swallow Wally’s release, and continued to pump him through his orgasm. You watched his hips shake as he finished coming, Wally’s moans were audible enough for anyone who was walking past the double doors of the indoor pool could definitely hear him.
You dropped your hand away from him and looked up at the totally ruined expression on Wally’s face. His hair that was usually so well kept, was sticking up in places he ran his hands through and some of it still stuck to his forehead from when he was swimming with you.
“Such a good and sweet boy.” You smiled, pulling yourself up by his thighs and giving him a kiss. Wally seemed to preen at the compliment and deepened the kiss; tasting himself on your lips, earning a low satisfied moan from the both of you.

Hi, I don't know if it's your kind of thing, but would you write a Lottie Matthews x reader, in s3 with all the mushrooms and everything... I don't have a fully formed idea...anyway thanks
The wind spreads the spores

Pairing: Lottie Matthews x Reader A/n: I hope I didn't make you wait too long for this. I also hope you enjoy what I have written! I also don't know how to write a person who is high lol Word count: 3.9k CW: getting high, but that is implied
Was silence a good thing? You couldn't answer that question for yourself anymore. There was always some noise that invaded your senses in the wilderness. It could have been the chatter of the other girls or the noises of animals. Whatever it was, the noises always seemed to be there. You could be having dinner or trying to fall asleep. It didn't matter what you were; the words persisted. The sounds were wisps against your ears, soft mummers of unrecognizable words. When you attempted to tune yourself into the words, the words became more distorted. These words weren't one of your thoughts. It was like having another voice in the back of your mind. The voice was low and taunting, which you had never heard before. It had come to the point where you would do anything to stop it. You had thought about talking with someone else about it, but you worried you sounded like a lunatic. Who wouldn't think you were crazy if you mentioned hearing voices in the back of your mind? Amid your desperation, there came an idea. Everyone knew Lottie seemed to have some connection to whatever was out here. She held small spiritual connections, trying to help others tune themselves into the world around them. You had seen but never participated in the rituals she held in the winter. It was too crazy for your liking, something that seemed unreal. However, there was a part that was curious about what Lottie knew. Could she talk with the wilderness like she had said? The night she randomly started speaking French, though it was a while ago, it seemed like a sign.
When Javi died, Lottie made it out to be a sign, and now Nat was the “leader”. Though it was far-fetched, you needed some way to get these sounds out of your head. You couldn’t stand the unrecognizable whispers or the feeling of being watched. Now prepared with your reasoning, you decided to take the chance that Lottie knew some way to help you. You stood up and got yourself out of the miniature hut. The hut was a safety netting for you, a place away from the other girls. You scanned your eyes around the clearing of the self-built camp. A few girls were basking in the sun, enjoying their victory of Capture the Bone. Lottie, meanwhile, was staring off into space, a distant look in her eyes. She was sitting on a log in the clearing of the camp. Her hands were neatly folded in her lap, her dark brown hair slightly drifting with the breeze. You slowly approached Lottie, your steps soft and timid. Dangerous wasn’t the word to describe Lottie; she was more influential. That influence made her someone to be wary of. You sat beside Lottie, your hands planted on the bark. You looked up at Lottie, staring into her eyes. As if she snapped out of a trance, Lottie looked over toward you. A small smile wrapped across her features as Lottie looked over to you.
She seemed to enjoy being in the company of another person. “Hey, Lottie,” you greeted, your hand slightly messing with a piece of loose bark. You hadn’t spoken to her alone in a while. You had avoided all the nonsense she had been spouting about the wilderness. “Hello,” Lottie shifted slightly towards your body, “need something?” Your hands continued to fiddle with the edges of the bark before you spoke. The high-pitched whispers and chills that ran along your skin were growing. “I need to ask for a favor from you,” you started, a slight edge to your voice, “I have been hearing things, not the typical animal sounds. I think it might be hunger talking, but I wanted your advice.” When you finished speaking you moved your eyes away from Lottie. You didn't want to admit that, feeling embarrassed at admitting such a thing. There had been worse things to admit, but telling someone you were hearing things was a reason for concern. You knew whatever Lottie would judge you for, if she judged you at all, would be hypocritical. You suddenly felt a warmth against your body. A warmth that had been missing for a long time. You glanced upwards, finding Lottie’s hand against your own. Her hand was coarser than you had thought it would have been like. You accompanied that attribute to how the wilderness had shaped her.
When you found her eyes there was a sharp and twisting feeling that hooked into your stomach. There was more excitement and joy than sympathy in her eyes. She seemed more than happy to hear what was going on with you. “Can you hear it?” Lottie asked, though she didn't say it like a question. It was more like she had made a connection than she had an observation. She interlocked your hands together, her brown eyes still locked on you. “It’s a gift. You need to embrace this, embrace it,” Lottie stood up, dragging you up with her. As much as you enjoyed the warmth of the small connection, you pulled your hand away from Lottie’s grasp. “I don't want to embrace it. I need a way to minimize it, or at least stop hearing things,” your voice slightly restricted when you spoke. You didn't like what you had out here; no one did. Lottie had made it out to be the wilderness wants and desires that it was meant to happen. You didn't want to press the guilt on what you had done on an imaginary entity. Your actions were yours to live with. “Just try it; you wanted my help. I can help you with whatever is going on. Just give it a chance,” Lottie’s smile faltered. She seemed genuine with her words. Your breath hitched, thinking over what could be the harm in trying. The best case was that whatever was going on with you would stop. The worst case was that the whispers and chills didn't stop, and you would keep living with it. Your expression shifted to one of nervousness and hesitation. You let out a small sigh, deciding to go along with whatever Lottie had in mind. You weren't sure she knew how to help, but you asked. You sought her advice, so it only made sense to take what was offered. “Yeah, let's do it,” you returned your gaze to Lottie. You watched as her expression lit up at your words. She took your hand in hers, quickly walking off towards the forest. You two walked further away from the camp and into the woods.
The whispering of the wind was still present, becoming more of a buzzing sound in your ears. Your face slightly scrunched up at the noise as it became more present. The words were still unclear, but you could hear it all. The voice you hadn’t heard before. At this point, you assumed that you were going crazy. Lottie’s wilderness nonsense was not a good enough reason for all this. When she finally let your hand go, you looked at your surroundings. You haven't paid attention to where Lottie had led you, wrapped up in your thoughts to notice. Lottie beamed towards you as she took a seat on the ground. She held a small cup filled with water, a mushroom, and a rock. “So, how is this supposed to help me?” You asked, skepticism laced in your tone. You sat beside her, watching as she placed the mushroom against a rock. “You will be letting in and accepting the wilderness,” Lottie beamed when she spoke. Her smile made you think that it could work. She seemed so confident that whatever she was going to do would help you. “If you are hearing things, you need to embrace it. Let it speak to you; understand what it will tell you,” Lottie continued. Her voice was soothing and melodic. She spoke in a way that made you think she had done this before. She placed the mushroom against a flat rock close by. She then picked up another rock, scrutinizing it. After nodding in approval, Lottie started to crush the mushroom up. You watched as the once intact mushroom crumpled and flattened against the rock. You didn’t know what Lottie intended with the mushroom, but you held some trust in her. Lottie was your friend, a teammate you had known for years. Even with all the nonsense she had been rambling off, you trusted Lottie. After the mushroom was properly smushed up, Lottie took a small scoop and sprinkled it into the water. The bits of the mushroom swirled around, mingling with the water. Lotto seemed proud of her hand's concoction, eagerly handing it over to you. “Lottie,” you muttered, hesitantly taking the drink from her hands, “are you sure this is safe?” Lottie nodded her head, bringing the cup up towards your lips. “It is perfectly fine, trust me. You wanted help; this is what I think is best,” Lottie’s big brown eyes stared into yours. She was waiting, hoping you would take her advice.
You glanced down towards the water, hands slightly shaking. The last time anything happened with mushrooms, it ended in destruction. You weren’t even sure these mushrooms were like that, but you had a feeling they were. You took in a deep inhale, thinking over your options once more. It was either to deal with the nagging voices or start drinking. Even if it was only a temporary solution, it was a fix to your problem. You held the cup up to your mouth, drinking in the water. The feeling of the water left a slight tingle on your tongue. It didn't have much of a flavor to it, but the feeling remained on your tongue.
You looked over to Lottie, watching her soft smile. Her hands were neatly folded in your lap, her eyes never leaving you. She was waiting for the effects, and you were as well. “It is going to be a minute; just relax,” Lottie hummed, taking your hand. You held onto Lottie’s hand tightly, taking in a sharp inhale. The air was cold in your lungs despite the warmer weather. You sat there for a moment, waiting and listening. You felt a tingling sensation run along your body. The feeling wasn't cold, it felt relaxing. Your gaze shifted from Lottie down to your limbs. Goosebumps ran along your arms and legs. You snapped your hand away from Lottie, your eyes growing wider. The world looked more vibrant than it had before. The trees looked greener, and the sky seemed more bright. Your mouth was slightly gapped as you pushed yourself upwards. You stumbled forward, pushing yourself against a tree. Your gaze moved up towards the leaves, watching them away. Your hands are firmly planted against the tree to stabilize yourself. You heard the crunch of the leaves as Lottie stood up behind you. “I feel nothing, yet everything,” you muttered in amazement.
You ran your hand along the trees, feeling the rough exterior. There were no noises, no words, nothing to worry about. All you could hear was Lottie and the sounds of the wind. You turned around, leaning your back up against the tree. A small laugh emitted from your lips as your head tilted. You didn't know where the laugh had come from, but it felt right. You looked at Lottie, a dopey expression spreading across your face. Lottie looked at you, a slight smile turning up her lips. She remained in front of you, watching your reactions. The way she stared at you with such gentleness made your heart flutter. Her dark brown eyes that bore into yours were stunning. You stared helplessly at Lottie, a small laugh emitting from you. Lottie’s smile slightly grew as she moved back towards another tree. She sat down against the ground, back leaning up against a tree. She kept her eyes on you, patting the spot beside her. “Why don't you sit with me?” Lottie asked, her tone soft and smooth. You complied with her request, stumbling towards her. You flopped against the ground, another laugh leaving your lips. “You’re so high,” Lottie smiled towards you, eyes soft and loving. You slightly rolled over towards Lottie, another laugh leaving your lips, “I am so high.” There was a moment of silence when you two stared into each other’s eyes. She looked so pretty in the shade. Her hair looked so soft; you wanted to run a hand through it. “It’s okay to be scared,” Lottie’s voice broke through the silence. Her hand inched slightly towards you. Upon hearing Lottie’s words, your expression dropped somewhat.
You didn't want to be told how to feel. “Not push it all down, y’know?” Lottie continued. You shifted yourself to sit upwards. You let out a small huff at the comment, finding it a little hypocritical. You knew your method of shoving things down wasn't the best, but Lottie had no room to talk. She spoke to the forest like it was a living thing. Your back pressed against the tree's bark, feeling it protrude against your skin. Your fingers guided themselves to the edge of your shorts, clutching the fabric. There were lots of people who had it worse.
All that was happening with you was some weird voices in your ears. "What about Shauna; she has it worse than anyone?" You grumbled, an edge to your voice. Lottie's method of help was a temporary escape from what was going on with you. You didn't want her to go on about what you were feeling. Everyone already had so much to worry about already. Lottie also had her issues, so you didn't see why she was keen on helping others. She spoke about trying to help others, but she didn't want to get herself any help. You assumed her way of dealing with what was going on was the wilderness. To you, that was what made the most logical sense. Lottie wasn't excellent at the primary skills of cooking, hunting, or anything medical-related, but she knew how to influence people. The power of influence had shifted to many people during your time in the wilderness. Lottie's influence wasn't as inherent as it had been, yet it still lingered.
"Pain is not a competition," Lottie spoke out. She paused for a moment as if trying to reclaim her thoughts. Her eyes turned away from you, looking out into the woods. "I did try to talk with her, but we," Lottie stopped herself from speaking again. She seemed to be trying to calculate each other and how it would affect you. It annoyed you how Lottie acted as if her words had some drastic effect on you. You tried to brush off the feeling she was only trying to help you. She was taking her time to make sure you were okay; you wanted to be grateful for that. Lottie was also trying to find some way to keep herself sane, so it wasn't fair to be annoyed at her. "She kind of shut me out. 'Needing a shrink doesn't make you a shrink,' quote unquote," Lottie finished, finally turning her gaze back onto you. Surprise took over you as you listened to Lottie's words. You had never thought a girl like her would need a shrink. Before the crash, Lottie seemed like a normal person. She had a very well-off family and acted like a normal, popular girl. The idea of a girl like her needing a shrink was out of the question. She never showed any signs or was good at hiding it. The way she spoke about it almost without a care concerned you. You moved closer towards Lottie, your body turned towards her. You wanted to reach out and comfort her in some way. The expression on her face held hints of despair. You took a short breath, debating whether to ask her about it. "You had a shrink?" Your voice came out a little curious but held hints of worry.
Lottie turned her head back to face you, her brown eyes staring directly at you. All evidence of sadness seemed to wash away from her expression. The change of emotions on Lottie's face was quick like she had never wanted you to see her like that. "Shrinks. Plural," Lottie corrected. She briefly turned her head down, her arms loosely wrapped around her legs. Her hands slightly fiddled together as silence fell over the both of you. The sounds of the wind filled your ears once more as silence took over. You were now fully sat up, arms resting on your knees. You had never gotten this personal with anyone before the crash or after. It felt weird to be hearing this about Lottie. Yes, you felt terrible for her, but it felt strange. You moved towards Lottie, awkwardly leaning yourself against her. You didn't know how to comfort her in the moment.
Lottie's expression changed again, a solemn frown turning into a grin. "Anyways, this is my therapy session, is it?" Lottie joked. Her attempt at a smile was visible. Feeling awkward, you moved off Lottie, leaning back against the tree. You didn't know what she had been through, so you didn't want to question it. Lottie was helping you with your problem, so it didn't feel right anyway. The confession made you think. Lottie had taken pills before the crash, preventing her from seeing things. Now that she didn't have the pills, the visions started coming back. Even in your current state, the pieces started to come together.
"Then it started happening again without the pills," your comment came out as more of a question. Your eyes flicked between Lottie and the ground. It was beginning to become more awkward as the conversation ran its course. What was supposed to be about the hushed whispers you heard had turned into Lottie's confession about shrinks and pills. "Till it stopped," Lottie sighed. The quiet weight is heavy on both you and Lottie. The voices drove you mad, but at least it filled the silence. Now that it was gone, you had to bear with the uncomfortable stillness. Your body froze, a buzz filling up the empty sound. You looked around, trying to figure out where it was coming from. Your fingers, which sat on your legs, started to dig into your skin. Your confused expression turned into worry as your head continued to look around. The quiet buzz slowly morphed into a soft, shrill bellow. "Lottie," you whispered, your tone shaky, "can you hear that?" You stumbled up to your feet, your body turning around. Your mind was spinning all around, new invasive sounds filling your senses. The noise was nothing like the gentle whispers you heard before. The howl was more invasive, and it was only growing in volume. Your eyes were wide, and your breathing started to grow heavier.
"No, do you hear something?" Lottie shook her head when she spoke. She leaned against her legs, her brown eyes studying your figure. You stumbled forward, the voices only growing louder. What once was a small soft squeal was turning into a sharp cry. Your gaze locked onto a tree, its shape twisting and flickering in your stare. "The trees," You muttered. You had never seen or heard anything like this before. Reality seemed to shift and bend; sounds and visions were a prime example. You stared at the tree, listening to it. The screams were completely screams; it was more like desperate cries. The tree flickered in your vision, wrapping in ways you never thought could happen. My breathing started to grow even more labored at the sound. "The trees are crying," your voice broke. The loud cry swelled in your ears the closer you went to the tree. You wanted the sounds to stop, but you wanted to get closer to the tree. You wanted to feel the pain, understand it. Your body starts to shake and your limbs feel weak. You didn't even register the fact that Lottie had stood up. She was making her way slowly behind you, watching. The sounds of her footsteps were muted by the growing wails of the trees.
You couldn't tell when the cries turned into screams, but it was a quick switch. The screams were pitiful, like that of a small child. "No, no, the trees are screaming," your voice cracked again. You made contact with the bark, feeling the rough exterior against your fingertips. Something you couldn't name that flashes before your eyes. The brief glimpse you caught looks at a towering and ominous figure. The cries then turned to screams that were shrill and deafening. You could feel your heart racing and your mind throbbing. The whispers were long gone, replaced by something you never wanted. The voices were so familiar but too distorted to tell who they were. Your body began to shake further, goosebumps running along your skin. The sound became too much for you, the screams becoming overwhelming. You let out an ear-splitting scream, your breath becoming ragged. Your hands went up to your head, pressing your body against the tree. The rise and fall of your chest was more rapid, and your screams grew louder. The voices and the distorted figures danced in your memory.
You felt Lottie's arms wrapped around your body. Her touch felt suffocating like she would squeeze you until you would pop. "Stop! Stop! It is not real!" Lottie shouted, her voice narrowly reaching your ears. You squirmed under Lottie's grasp, shuttered breaths escaping your lips. You pushed Lottie away, a look of terror in your eyes. Lottie's hands hold on tightly to your arms, trying to ground you to reality. The screams then dimmed in your ears, fading into nothingness. You took in strangled breaths, trying to regain control of yourself. When you managed to look up at Lottie, there was deep concern in her eyes. "You couldn't hear it?" Your hands went to grip Lottie's shoulders. You couldn't understand how Lottie couldn't hear such a thing. She had to have heard it; the sound was horrifying. You heard their screams, the screams of those you knew. Lottie noticed the look of terror in your eye, leading you to the ground. She wrapped her arms around you, her warmth entrapping you. "No, no, I didn't," Lottie muttered, keeping her arms against your back. Her comfort was lost to you, too concerned with what had happened. You have heard the voices that the screams belonged to before. Your stare was blank, fear overtaking your whole body. "You're going to hear it; everyone is going to hear them."

AGSZC participate in Veganuary. How does that go over?
Genesis: Thinks it'll be easy because he's not a die-hard lover of meat and dairy. Unfortunately Genesis is the type of person who, when not allowed to have something, craves it intensely. By day 2 he's craving steak like it's a past lover. Has a dream where a roasted duck serenades him. By day 5 he's having an existential crisis because what do you mean he can't have milk chocolate?? On day 10 they find him sobbing in the break room because he can't have cheese with his wine.
Sephiroth: He takes the challenge seriously and fully supports the ethical stance, because he finds the treatment of animals downright barbaric. On day 2 he has no issues eating a balanced plant-based diet. On day 3 he spends two hours reading about factory farming, and comes out of it deeply disturbed. Unfortunately by day 12 he's having vivid hallucinations of perfectly seared wagyu. A roast chicken spoke to him in the shower this morning. He loses a sparring match because he got distracted thinking about bacon. He realizes Genesis looks like a giant piece...of raw...meat.... *Cue Angeal and Zack having to pry open Sephiroth's jaw from Genesis' arm*
Angeal: He reasons that if it's for a good cause, he's in. He's content for a full 6 days. Meal prepping. Eating hearty lentil stews. Coming up with alternative recipes because vegan food is expensive as hell. It all comes crumbling down when he receives a thank-you basket full of artisanal cheeses and sausages. Angeal stares at it. He thinks about waste. He thinks about his poor childhood self watching his adult self give away a perfectly delicious basket of food when he could be eating it. And then he convinces himself that eating the basket is the responsible thing to do. "This is what sustainability looks like." He eats the entire basket in under 7 minutes and Genesis finds him inhaling a wheel of cheese like it's oxygen.
Zack: Another unwise soul who thinks it'll be easy because he's been eating "vegan burritos all week, how bad can it be?" (The vegan burritos contained cheese and eggs. Zack thinks that just because something doesn't contain meat it automatically makes it vegan). On day 1 he realizes he can't have eggs. Cloud rips a fully loaded cheese omelet from his hands while Zack screams like he's just taken a bullet. On day 5 he clutches a pack of chicken nuggets in the frozen food aisle, whispering "stay strong, Fair..."
By day 9 he's weak. Faint. A husk of a man. He eats an entire jar of peanut butter out of desperation. Starts growling at people. Angeal catches him inhaling the smell of a rotisserie chicken at the mess hall. He actually survives the whole month, but barely. Looks haunted. Tells people he's "seen things."
Cloud: He's literally fine? No strong feelings, just eats whatever's available. On day 12 he's mildly annoyed at how expensive vegan milk is but that's it. In fact he realizes he's accidentally been vegan before because he can survive on water, rations and nuts. He reaches day 30 and didn't even notice it was over. Wonders why everyone else looks like they've been to war.

my song for you | chap. 1
a/n — hii! first chapter of the mini-series, as I said, I've been very busy, but I tried to do my best, I swear the next one will be better than this one!
summary: you think about everything happening, a lot of information and it overwhelms you, but it can also free you, even momentarily.
pairing: jiyong x pianist!gn!reader
!warnings: mention of blood, toxic family, jiyong distressed, reader expresses many thoughts.
lowercase letters, w.c: 2k
with no thoughts in mind, you play the music. your mind seems to shine, your fingers move on their own. with your eyes closed and a smile on your face, you savor the notes melting into your ears, and then the music ends.
only you and silence remain, but the smile on your face doesn’t fade. you turn to your mother, waiting for something.
she’s not there anymore.
_
your heel taps repeatedly on the floor, your furious gaze not leaving jonghoon for even a second. if it weren’t a crime, you would shut him up with a punch.
he looks at you, his gaze hardening. the man simply ignores it and keeps talking.
"so, i think that would be the proposal for your participation. what do you think?" jonghoon turns to you, flashing a big, bright smile. you sigh, standing up.
"jonghoon, jiyong-nim, i’m sorry," you bow at a 90-degree angle, avoiding eye contact with either of them, staring only at the floor. "i don’t even know exactly what the project is, and to be honest, i didn’t pay attention to anything my friend said, kwon-nim. but i have no intention of joining the song." your gaze lifts, finally looking at the man with colorful hair. "i haven’t played in three years, and i have no intention of going back to it either. jonghoon knew that, but..." you bow again. "thank you for the opportunity."
grabbing your things— your bag and phone—you sling the bag over your shoulder and head for the door. looking back, you nod a small goodbye, then open the door and leave the room.
_
the stage in front of you shone, your hands were sweating, but not from anxiety—rather, from anticipation. this was one of your first performances in front of a crowd. you wanted to have fun, to finally play for someone other than your family, and that excited you.
wiping your sweaty palms on your clothes, you adjusted your hair, but something caught your eye from the corner.
huh? people were leaving!
peeking through the curtain, you helplessly watched everyone rise from their seats until the place was empty.
an adult hand grabbed your shoulder, pushing you toward the piano at the center, leaving you alone.
again, no one would see you play.
this wasn’t the first time you played alone in such a large place, but it had never occurred to you that everything would slip through your fingers like this—the audience you wanted to show your love for the piano to, walking away as if it had all been an illusion.
you sat on the piano bench, your chest tightening, tears rolling down your face. your white gloves hid the marks of your journey, the piano keys blurred in your vision, your ears hearing nothing but the loud beating of your heart.
and you played.
jiyong walked, ruffling his hair with his white beanie in the other hand, along with a bouquet of small white flowers. his heart was tight, shattered, filled with anger at himself and at her. his feet moved aimlessly, without any idea where to go.
how could she do this to him? he had given her his whole heart, his soul, his time, his care. he had given his life to her. today was supposed to be one of their dates after a small argument they had.
"you never have time for me, jiyong! i don’t want to beg for your time!"
"when you met me, you knew i was busy! i spend all my time training for this idol thing! i’m the leader! i have to be there too!"
after that, the argument only escalated, ending with jiyong storming out of her house, slamming the door.
all this time, he had been drowning in guilt and worry that her love for him was fading. but he had discovered in the worst way that there had never been a place for him in her heart.
his green jacket was the only thing shielding him from the cold wind.
anger clouded his senses, and he walked toward a trash can nearby, ready to throw away the flowers, until he saw a poster at the bottom, covered in dirt. his first instinct was to ignore it, but his eyes and mind read the words anyway.
maybe it was the need to escape the weight of the pain in his chest.
curiosity won him over. confused, he picked up the paper from the trash, dusting off the dirt with his fingertips. he unfolded it completely.
'8th piano festival at xxxx theater, 8:00 pm. free admission.'
a two-minute walk. maybe it would be good to clear his head. unconsciously, he tightened his grip on the now slightly crushed flowers in his hand—better than standing still, wallowing in pain alone.
arriving at the venue with one hand in his pocket, his beanie back on his head, and the flowers still in his hand, he entered through the slightly open door, continuing inside.as he reached the auditorium, it was large and dimly lit, only increasing his curiosity.
suddenly, people started getting up and leaving. confused, he dodged a few, looking around until the place was empty.he looked toward the exit, puzzled. maybe it was over
checking his watch, it was only 8:27 pm. he sighed, ready to leave.
then, out of nowhere, catching a glimpse of movement on stage, jiyong froze and turned his head.
silently, he watched as someone was pushed toward the center and left alone there.
a few seconds later, the person sat at the piano, deepening the boy’s confusion—until the instrument played its first note.
your heart burned with loneliness and frustration, each note played was like your tears streaming down your face, your pain pouring out onto that brightly lit stage. your feet pressed the pedals forcefully, but not enough to break them.
your fingers moved across the keys with such delicacy and speed that if someone blinked, they would completely lose track of your rhythm.
why do these unfortunate things only happen to you?
didn't you try hard enough?
didn't you play enough?
all these thoughts ran through your mind.
did you deserve what happened to you?as the music ended, your fists hit your thighs while you sat in the chair, breathing heavily and crying silently.
clap, clap, clap.
what is that sound?
maybe it's just in your head and—
"wow... my heart really started racing..."
your head snapped up so fast that you could almost hear a crack.
you turned toward the voice, letting out a surprised breath, blinking rapidly to clear your blurred vision.
a boy, maybe 19 years old? (you guessed), wearing a white tank top, a long dark green denim jacket, jeans, expensive white sneakers, and a white beanie, stood below the stage, looking at you with admiration. he rested his arms on the edge of the stage, which was only slightly lower than him, holding a small bouquet of flowers in one hand.
he smiled at you until he noticed your tears. the boy blinked in surprise, unsure of what to do, until he remembered the flowers. he smiled again.
"i didn't know what to do with these, but..."
he bent his knees slightly and jumped up onto the stage effortlessly, sitting on the floor first before standing and walking toward you. he extended his hand, offering the flowers.
"now i think i do."
_
man, where was jonghoon really thinking? is he crazy?
walking angrily, your feet hit the ground harshly as you reached the closed elevator, pressing the button with force. you were on the top floor of this building, and the elevator was apparently on the ground floor— about five minutes to come up. your patience was wearing thin.
you shouldn't have even come, honestly. your breathing started to quicken. closing your eyes, the top of your hand began to itch. your fingers scratched over the fabric of your other glove. good thing you wore them— you knew yourself well enough to know you would scratch until it bled.
"___-ssi?"
a gentle voice called you, and you turned around, your breathing still uneven. the man smiled.
it was g-dragon.
"g-dragon-nim..." you whispered.
"i'm sorry for leaving like that, it's just..." you averted your gaze. "it was getting too stressful."
the man stood silently beside you.
"you know, this isn’t how i wanted to meet you." jiyong looked at you, "i didn’t want my favorite singer to see me like this. at my worst." you bit your lip slightly, holding back more words.
"forgive jonghoon, sometimes he talks too much. don’t be mad at him for bringing someone who didn’t accept your project. i’m sure you'll find someone better—"
"i want it to be you."
your heart skips a beat unintentionally, but your face doesn’t show embarrassment, only surprise. you point at yourself, your head spinning, "me?"
the man nods and gives a small smile.
"i've seen you play before, ___-ssi, and—"
you interrupt him, "seriously??? when???" you cover your mouth immediately. you hate remembering your past performances—if you could, you’d bury them in a hole so deep it would reach the earth’s core. "impossible, jiyong-nim. if it was online, i might understand. was it some video on youtube?"
the man just smiles and doesn’t answer your question. he continues speaking instead. "your way of playing is very special, ___-ssi. that’s what i can say."
special? what’s special about what you did? you were and still are the worst pianist in your family. you never brought them the pride they expected from you. that’s why they left, disappeared from your life, abandoned you.they despised you your whole life.
they left you alone, just like every other time. but this time, it was forever.
so why… why did those words—words you had always considered lies—suddenly ignite something in your heart?
your fingertips tingled, your eyelashes trembled, your breath hitched for a moment.a feeling you couldn’t name struck your soul, your spirit.
everything became warm and pleasant, yet confusing.
that empty, miserable feeling disappeared from your poor body, even if just for a fleeting moment.no. don't go.
you want to feel this again.
you want to feel alive again.you want this flame to never go out again.
you want a reason to get up every morning again.
you don’t want to drown in your past sorrows, in the pain you’ve carried until just a few seconds ago.
you don’t want to be alone—you want something to hold on to, to keep you standing again.
don't go.
the dark fog in your mind had cleared for mere seconds.
your gray world had burst into warm, welcoming colors.
you want to hold onto it—but what’s keeping you back? what’s keeping you trapped in this misery that is your life?
is it the fear of being alone forever?
of never being able to love anything again?
of not being able to share what you feel and drowning in the anguish forced upon you?
is it the way you keep clinging to a distant, unhappy past that shaped who you are now, only to finally realize you’re terrified of staying in the same place forever?
this fear has eaten away at you for so long that it blinded you to everything that once brought you joy and the will to live.
you don’t want this feeling anymore.
you don’t want it. never again.
this feeling that lasted less than a millisecond—you want to feel it forever.
"i will play for you, jiyong-nim."
a/n — i honestly don't know if I liked this chapter very much, but like I said, i'll improve! i hope you liked it! feel free to correct any mistakes!
