small context out of the way first: "hostility coding" in this case just refers to what makes a badnik inherently predisposed to aggression. it's not so much their capacity for violence so much as it is their tendency to attack just about anything/specifically seek to destroy sonic/etc. it, along with their "loyalty programming", is a key component in what makes them subservient to eggman.

to make an exceptionally long story short and more to-the-point: metal's new caretaker is a phenomenal inventor/coding engineer in his own right, and is responsible for identifying and removing it. i'd not put this caretaker on par with eggman or tails, not even remotely close, but he certainly knows his ins-and-outs when it comes to programming. you could say it's integral to his own existence, even.

so when metal falls and shadow brings him in for repairs, this caretaker is dissatisfied with the local engineers' treatment of metal. they clearly don't know what they're doing, and are treating him more like a Thing than a Person, and that pisses the caretaker off to no end. it strikes a personal nerve, even. in the end, this is how he ends up metal's new caretaker at all; he just decides this lil robot is his responsibility now, actually. completely unplanned for, unspoken, and if anyone asks, no, caretaker definitely does not care or have a personal stake in metal's well-being or anything. definitely not.

whether the caretaker wants to admit it or not, he has effectively adopted metal, and takes to fixing him up on his own. due to certain qualities about the caretaker, he's also got a knack for "mentally" syncing up with robots/the like. since metal at this stage is incapable of communication outside of a little sign language, the caretaker just syncs with him semi-regularly to help identify metal's needs/what repairs he's comfortable with, so on.

this caretaker is very big on acknowledging and encouraging a robot's autonomy/personhood, so doing upgrades/tampering with metal's coding without consent is completely out of the question. anything he does or doesn't do to upgrade metal is specifically only ever with metal's permission. (he is also responsible for, much later on, re-enabling metal's voice chip, still left over from his neo metal arc, but previously disconnected.)

over time, these sync-sessions lead to the caretaker finding the hostility programming, as well as this pesky loyalty coding. and with a little programming magic of his own, eventually he manages to overwrite and remove it for good.

it doesn't fundamentally change metal as an individual, but it does free him of eggman's influence, and allows him to make his own decisions for himself going forward.

This is basically a long winded way to say that MK has already been "crowned", in a sense. Unlike Wukong, MK never needed to be controlled in the same way his mentor did at the beginning of his journey. MK, instead, was given morals and love by our wonderful Dadsy from a young age, which effectively functioned as a "circlet", if that makes sense.

So, the bandana, a symbol of both who he is/was raised to be and the crown, is already his circlet. As MK is now, he doesn't need a circlet to exert control over him because of who he is—a good kid who is trying his best to make the right choices.

But, you know, there was that really scary scene that one time where MK didn't exactly feel like MK and he kind of went off the rails...and...WHAT IS THAT

do you think simon would pursue music in uni or do you think he’d be more pragmatic about it and choose something else with better job prospects/ less having to put his face out into the public so he can take the care of his mama and make sure sara can study whatever she wants

I’m leaning more towards music but I think it could go either way. I can’t see him becoming a popstar but there are music jobs that aren’t as “visible”. He has an interest in composition and I mostly imagine him pursuing that. But it would also make sense to me if he decided to keep music as a hobby and do something else as a day job. Turning your greatest passion into a source of income can be great but it can also end up sucking all joy out of it.

He would take job prospects into consideration and he’s definitely the kind of person who wants to give back to his mother as much as he can, but he wouldn’t choose a career solely based on how well it pays (unless he absolutely had to). He needs to do something he finds meaningful or he won’t be happy.

I don’t think Sara would factor into this decision. I think the last episode indicates that their relationship is ready to move to a more equal footing where Simon doesn’t feel like he has to constantly take care of her and put her needs above his own.

honestly i didnt say it in the ask but I was just thinking about how Seb would not come back if it meant he would be fighting for points again, as much as he loves racing in general, he loves to win even more. he said multiple times he was there to win and I think he would only come back if all those stuff you talk about happened but also if the team was good, the car was good etc etc

which i have to say the indy 500 leg of it takes much, much more commitment than you might realize and much of the f1 world likes to pretend. fernando proved this especially when he got bumped, and the training for it will be easier if he's younger—so i'd suggest fixing your hopeful eyes on his landing a good indycar seat so he can get busy before worrying about wec!

All things considered w how dramatic he is usually, Mello isn't too bad when he gets sick. Or he's just good at hiding it because he hates looking weak. ultimately ilu is a lover of physical touch... even if she doesn't allow others to touch her in certain ways unless she really trusts them. she has quite a bit of trauma surrounding intimacy, so you know she really cares for someone if she allows them to be physically affectionate with her. she especially loves to bite and nip, as she is a githyanki after all. what's a kiss without a little bit of blood?
