As an artist yourself i want to ask for your opinion. I want to draw couples in Greek mythology like Hades and Persephone but i feel already that people will think of them as overrated for someone to make art again for this couple for the millionth time.

Or when great artists make art about one specific couple so i personally feel that i can't make about the same couple. Like for example i would like to make art of Alcibiades but you already draw Alcibiades so amazingly it feels like i can't do it

Dear Anon, I will preface this by saying I completely understand what you are saying.

But life is very short and when you have a harmless and creative thing you WANT to do, like drawing something, you should just do it. Absolutely go and draw as much hades/Persephone art as you want. Because it's so popular, yes, some stranger online will perhaps see it and scoff "oh another hades/pers shipper ugh". That's fine. Don't mind that. It's unavoidable There will be dozens of other people who will enjoy it and will love your art.

Second point: never ever think that you mustn't draw something because someone more skilled is already drawing it. I'm not sure what the root of this way of thinking is, to give you some specific advice on combating it, but I know other people irl who have a similar issue of feeling like they're trespassing on some "better artist's territory"

I can only tell you that you never ever lose your right to draw something you want and sharing it with people, even if you're five years old and drawing stick figures. I myself will be ecstatic to see ANY fanart of Alcibiades, all of them are amazing to me. And this has been the case in all fandoms and art spaces I've been in. Especially fanart, will be enjoyed no matter your skill level.

I can't find it right now, but there's a comic where it shows two bakers, and one of them is feeling bad because their cake isn't as fancy as the other's , but the person who gets the two cakes is super happy because they got two cakes. More art is always welcome, nevermind what the style or skill level is, and never ever ever ever think you shouldn't draw something because it's overdone, or already being drawn by others.

Also like the Alcibiades fandom is small and we all need to pull out weight in this boat so go draw Alcibiades this instant 😠 😠

for Ian, it's the reminder that Mickey is only an asshole to...well, assholes, but he's actually really kind to people, especially if he sees them struggling? like, he always helps the old lady who lives in their apartment block carry her groceries inside and has a bit of a chat with her, and Ian can't help but go 😍😍 every single time. both! they first get a dog through Carl, who became a vet tech because I said so 😌 and then one day Mickey finds a stray cat that they decide to adopt. Ian walks the dog more often and goes for runs with him, while Mickey cuddles the cat more, usually. she was so scared and aggressive when they first brought her home, and he felt like he could relate 😭 so he gave her extra attention and cuddles until she became the sweetest, most affectionate cat in the world 😭😭

Imagine Kidd with an artsy s/o. Especially one that sculpts or works with clay, he’d be so into that. And he’d be so quick to pick it up. Just them sitting making clay sculptures of random shit

tumblr ate this ask around 4 weeks ago and just randomly put it back like i didn't cry over it 😠.

Kid defiantly likes an artsy s/o, his type is creative people who specialise in skills he can't do. he could watch his s/o quietly sit absorbed in their skill for hours because he thinks it's incredibly attractive and super fascinating.

Kid would be one of the best members of the Kid Pirates to have an artsy s/o because he'd be super encouraging for their hobbies (buying them anything they could ever need for it and always hyping them up over the final piece) and is always super interested in hearing/learning about the different processes they use in their projects. if his artsy s/o thinks their final product is shit? he's quick to reassure them it's amazing and remind them that he couldn't create anything like it.

if his s/o specialises in sculptures or clay, he's especially interested/fascinated with their art because Kid finds it easier to get involved and pick up the skills associated with the media. which leads to them having little private moments in the workshop where they sit and quietly make small sculptures for each other. however, Eustass 'sour loser' Kid gets very sulky when his clay sculptures don't work out like how he planned which results in his s/o having to calm him down and reassure him that he can make good clay figures.

also the idea Kid and his artsy s/o collaborating on a bronze sculpture is the cutest thing ever. his s/o creates the design and sculpts the initial clay figure, then creates the wax mould for the bronze which kid pours and assembles together. then both of them complete it together by carving out the final details and polishing it.

if Kid's s/o draws or paint, he'd buy them so many sketchbooks, canvases, paints/pencil sets and builds them multiple easels (which he decorates with carvings) that goes in the workroom. Kid allows his artsy s/o to drag him to different museums and different locations that they want to paint/draw. he'd defiantly repeatedly beg them to let him model for their art and insists that he needs to be naked in every one of them (he really doesn't but how can we say no to seeing a naked Kid).

although there's a small downside to Kid having an artsy s/o, which is that both of them would get so involved in their individual projects that they'd forget to eat or drink anything until a crew member brings them food.

yes yes, very exciting!! honestly, it feels like we’ve been here for years, but simultaneously i’m like what??? it’s already been a year?? crazy. i’m not sure i expected to stick around this long or be as active on stayblr as we’ve been, but i’m glad we have 💕 on top of this, we’re reaching a follower milestone too, so i’m going to go all out with this fasten your seatbelts

i’m usually a really casual stan, and i’m also multi af, so following one group so closely is an entirely new experience to me despite being into kpop since 2012. in running a blog dedicated to one group...i have to keep up! and that in itself has been really fun. i think i have a love for skz that’s different than any group i’ve ever stanned, so i’m thankful to this blog for that much alone. 

on top of that, i’ve really enjoyed meeting and talking to everyone on stayblr that i have, seeing y’all’s amazing content, and i appreciate the support you all have given us in the past year so much. i think i’ve improved a lot as a content creator in the past year, and i think if i just stayed on my main blog, that wouldn’t be as much of the case. everyone’s encouragement and creativity has made being yangjeongin super fun for me, and (usually) keeps me motivated to keep making stuff!! i don’t think i can say thank you enough. so many of you have been so kind to us and i’m really so grateful.

i could probably say so much, but one of the most important things to do is credit @minhos, because without their influence (see: dragging us kicking and screaming to make a skz sideblog) yangjeongin wouldn’t exist at all. we would not be yangjeongin because we even got this url from them!! and tbh we may not even be into skz at all without haru. this is the only time i will say this but thank u haru, every other time i’m going to say you ruined my life even though that’s a lie. 

i may joke about stayblr ruining my life too but the truth is i think i needed this blog in my life in the past year and that despite feeling INSANE sometimes, i think i would be worse off today if yangjeongin didn’t exist. i’m actually getting emotional help so just. thanks for making this such a good experience for me, and for helping me to have so much fun.

They must have a slow cooker by now, no? Like Ian gets really into cooking this year and he definitely buys a crockpot. They're not expensive and maybe he comes across a crockpot cook book at goodwill or something and it intrigues him. He likes the idea of putting dinner on on in the morning and letting it just cook until dinner, low and slow and with little fuss.

We are staying in an airbnb across the river from Seoul but it's in a more expensive district from what we can tell haha. So we might spend a bit more time outside of that area and more time in Seoul. We want to take a day trip to Busan but also want to try to go to some hanok villages (oh please tell me if I am so wrong with my explanations), the markets, honestly just anywhere we can see things that are older than anything that I personally could even imagine.

Also the food! I am so excited to try different things. We also want to go to Lotte tower and the aquarium though I'm sure that is the most tourist thing to say haha.

Honestly we are always writing down new places and trying to see if we can get there for our trip and always looking for recommendations.

We are going in November like the 27th through December 5th (we will be there for my birthday) so there should be a lantern festival taking place. So that is also of course on the list of things to appreciate.

I too have a thing for groups like that. I'm not sure how you feel about 4th gen groups like Stray Kids but it's one reason I find them so fascinating, their self producing. Ugh and that's also why I just love Jihoon and honestly Chanyeol so much. Their time spent in studios. I mean Jihoon is on another level even compared to Chanyeol but the talent in these people is just astounding.

I agree the stalking and paparazzi is everywhere but I do see it more prevalent in k-pop. It's a bit more scary too. The idols share so much with us and I do love that but it's also giving so much to these people who wish them harm or are a bit too delusional. I just want them safe and happy. I respect and love them from a distance in my own deululu way haha.

I'm starting to think about giving up on writing. I'm not sure how to stop it, either. I don't want to sound whiny or ungrateful for all that this writing community has given me, but even after participating in NCN nothing seems to get better. In fact, it's killed my blog. I'm tired of begging for feedback. Anon are meaner and more demanding than ever. Friends are tired of hearing me complain. Writing isn't as fun as it used to be. Maybe I'm being dramatic. Just needed to get my frustration out

People seem to think that writing takes max 1 hour a day and within that time we get 50 fics written. Like it would really be that easy, like it's the same as chatting with friends or something, and we're not allowed to have our own lives in some people's eyes... and yeah, tbh I've been thinking about quitting a lot more because of those people who seem to think like that. Their words hurt, even though it shines through how they don't write anything creative themselves. But I don't wanna let go. This community has helped me so much during these 2 years, it feels like I have more friends than ever.

Inspired from that chatting thing, I'm seriously considering that one day I'll write a fic which is like

You were like 🙄 as Flash tried to laugh at you and Peter ran to the scene and was like 😠. You smirked at Flash, he turned around, saw Peter and was like 😮 and left the scene. He remembered the last time he defied Peter and didn't want it to happen again 😬😂 Peter took a hold of your hand and you walked home 😍❤️ It was so cuuuuute!!! 😭😭❤️

and ask my readers if that's a pleasant piece to read because that's pretty much how I talk to my friends. Creative writing demands thinking of just the right words and expressions, you can't just splat an emoji there without it looking silly, it isn't like you can just answer to the request like you'd be chatting with friends. If I did requests just by answering to them like I'd do with friends, they all would be like:

"Hey, could you do dating headcanons with Klaus Hargreeves from The Umbrella Academy? Thanks!"

- Hi, thanks for requesting!! I'm sure Klaus would be a messy but fun boyfriend 😂 Hope you liked it!

And yeah in that case I could easily queue like 50 "fics" a day 😅 But it isn't like that and I doubt my readers would like that, you have to THINK about the right headcanons, for example what Klaus would do to make his S/O feel better on a bad day and how would the reader help him with his addiction and how does Klaus react to it. It all just doesn't come out right away, Jenni 2.0 isn't taking turns with me to mold it and discuss with me about it and sometimes I come back to that fic multiple times. If a character is a neutral one to me, I'm often struggling especially with starting it up but I always at least try. Because sometimes that fic blooms a lot more than I thought it would. A drabble with Quentin Beck was a super hard piece to start and I started it like 10 times, wrote about 20 words and erased it, tried again, erased it etc but eventually it turned out to be one of my all-time faves.

But yeah, mean anons/people make my inspiration go down and it's like they don't even realize that by saying stuff like "you're selfish for participating NCN 🙄" they just push the writer further away (which should go without saying?????). Someday soon writers could be dropping out and I bet that those same people would be like "WHY IS EVERYONE QUITTING 😭😭😭😭" not realizing they caused it.
