Being shown to their places, Lucas put Liam in his dad’s lap, kissing a somewhat quizzical-looking River on the cheek. Walking past everyone, he walked up and took his guitar.

Lucas: I know it's normal that we have the first dance, but I wanted you all to be the first to hear this new song. -his eyes rested on River, it was a song directly written for him, and this would be the first time anyone had heard it.- It’s written for you River, so I hope you like it.

The song and Lucas’s voice filled the room, and for anyone that knew these two’s story, it was clear that this song was them. It was the things they had been through, what they had learned, and just how much Lucas was thankful as well as how much he loved the man he was now married to. River swallowed, the song hitting home, to the point of it being hard for him to control the wish to just go up there, and hold his sunlight close. 

Liam: Daddy?

His voice was low so as to not interrupt his mom’s singing, River took a deep breath wiping away some tears that had found their way down his cheeks before looking at the golden worried eyes that looked up at him.

I don't really think it's fair to dismiss the idea that that guy might have been framed for killing the CEO as like an unfounded conspiracy theory when NYPD has a proven history of planting/fabricating evidence on people. in 2011 there was a massive investigation of the NYPD and hundreds of cases against people were dismissed after a former police officer testified that they literally have a name for planting evidence on people: flaking. you cannot be out here acting like considering the possibility that cops who do this shit under normal circumstances might possibly also do it when they're under intense global pressure and scrutiny is the same as republicans thinking democrats run a secret pedophile ring in the basement of a pizza restaurant
