I legitimately don't want to think about who I'd be without She-ra. It was the only thing that kept me sane through the pandemic and health issues, yes, but I also met pretty much all of my friends through the fandom and I wouldn't have gotten back into writing without it. Writing is how I spend most of my free time and the thing that makes me feel like a person. Like nothing else I do or have ever done feels half as fulfilling as when people receive my writing with love and tell me how it touched them. I am a writer. That's a fundamental thing I was in high school but totally lost in college and my love of She-ra brought that back and shaped the trajectory of my last few years and possibly the rest of my life. There's so many amazing things to say about the show, but the anniversary kind of gave me the realization that this is not just a fandom for me but completely changed my life.

it's been a full calendar year since i started bothering beloved @gggoode with thoughts of postcards au and then not actually posting it so here's a snippet from their Very Important Friendship Era to make up for it a little bit :)

[minimal spoiler context: crystal left gigi for months with no communication but postcards. they fought for a while after she came back, but this is on the road to resolution... not to say that they've figured everything out, though >:)]

“Geege, can you come taste this and tell me if it needs anything?” Crystal calls, getting a spoonful of the sauce ready for her. She hears Gigi agree and come up behind her, their shoulders bumping together. Habit has her holding the spoon out to Gigi, which she takes in her mouth without a second thought. 

Gigi hums in delight when she tastes it, and Crystal can’t hide her grin. It’s surreal to have the fantasies she imagined when she made The Pasta and gave Gigi a plate come true, and now she can actually have it—even if it’s just in a friend way. 

“It’s perfect!” Gigi says easily, then kisses her on the cheek as she turns to leave. 

Crystal freezes, not looking at Gigi. She can feel her face heat up, her heart picking up in her chest at the familiar touch. Gigi hasn’t done that since…

Gigi takes a few hesitant steps back, “Sorry.” 

“No, no, it’s—I’m—” Her face is burning. They used to have sex, for fuck's sake, so why was one kiss on the cheek making her feel so much? “I’m glad you like it.” 

(They’re friends. She can’t ask her to do it again, no matter how much she wants to.)

“Yeah, um, it’s really good. Call me when it’s done, please?” A quick glance back shows her that Gigi’s face is as red as hers feels, and that her eyes are pointedly staring at the floor, the wall, the clock—anything that wasn't eye contact with Crystal. They weren’t even like this when they were flirting originally, but something about this was more intense.

She feels so much fluttering in her stomach she almost feels sick.

just a little update !!

been kind of on and off this past week because things have been busy (and i've just been too tired bfjshf 🥲). i'm not sure how this week will look but i'm hoping to get some reading done and a bit of writing too!! (currently working on: gym toji for my start of the year event).

i've been feeling a bit meh with my writing lately, but i'm trying to write through it 🥹 in the meantime, i finally got my custom theme working again!! it gives a more complete search when you look through tags, so if you're interested in some fic recs, you can look through my tags page for reference hehe.

Hey. I know I don’t have a lot of followers on here. And I know I haven’t been super active lately. Life has been really topsy-turvy as of late 😮‍💨

Hopefully I’ll be more engaged in the coming weeks - I have lots of drawing and writing drabbles swirling around my noggin ✍️🎨
