The nurse told you that they’d used a strong anesthetic because of how impacted his teeth were, but when it took them quite a few times to finally wake him up, you knew you were in for a ride.

Rintaro always hated the dentist. Always. He blames it on childhood trauma (he didn’t have any. He never brushed his teeth and that was his problem) but up until last night, months after his dentist told him he’d need an extraction as soon as possible, he’d been trying to get out of it.

Deep down, seeing him so relaxed in the chair was a relief. The teeth were out, now he has to heal. Easy enough.

You smile as you make your way over to his slowly waking body, taking his hand gently in yours to be the first thing when he woke up. Kissing the knuckles finally had him stirring, and he blinked those bleary green eyes open at you, you practically saw the hearts forming in them.

“Morning, sunshine,” you coo, moving your free hand over to card the messy locks of hair from his face. “How do you feel?”

He tries to speak, but it comes out as a croaky ‘guhhh’ and from a few feet away, the nurse chuckles.

“He’ll have some nasty cotton mouth- literally- for the next few days, but communication should be normal as he starts to wake up,” she says, snapping the gloves off her hands. Then, she passes you the care directions, “no rush. If you need anything, just press the buzzer.” At this point, Rintaro has taken the liberty of grabbing all the gauze he can to put in his mouth. You assume it’s to absorb all the spittle.

“No, no honey,” you chuckle, gently grabbing his hands and pulling the damp cloth out easily. “Be careful. We can change your gauze when we get home.”

“I ‘ont wonna shange my gods,” he mumbles, resting his hands on yours. “‘Ike my gods.”

“Gauze, baby,” you titter. You lean over to plant some kissed onto his forehead, hoping your affections will ease him back more. “The nurse said you might be woozy when you stand, so let’s take it slow okay?”

“Yesh, bosh,” he slurs out. He blinks his foggy eyes before letting them wander around the room, over the sharp objects and wooden cupboards, all before wandering back to you. They widen before a brow quirks in confusion, "who're you 'gain?"

"Me?" You snicker. "I'm the one who's gonna keep you alive for the next few days. Your parents are away, so you're stuck with me." You turn your head slightly, "though that may be the other way around."

"Keep me 'live?" Now, he gives you a small, messy smirk. "'re too schexy to keep me 'live."

"Are you hitting on me?"

He doesn't answer you. Instead, he lets out a small string of laughter, head rolling around his neck in haze. You snort before opting to move him up and out of the room, "come on Romeo. Before you pass out on me."

"nuh-uh," he argues. You, however, choose to ignore him.

It's hard to pay attention when there's a pile of 185 centimeter man on your right shoulder, saying goodbye to every hygienist, dentist, secretary, patron, and flower on the sidewalk on the way to the car. There's a slurp from the spittle in his mouth that rings in your ear and makes you want to gag, but you chose to count some of your blessings.

He's at least mobile- unlike the horror stories you've heard about Osamu falling asleep in the seat while Atsumu wailed about the bandaid on his arm.

Finally, you and your oaf are able to make it to the car, his eyes closed in an attempt to sleep, and you jostle him awake slightly.

"I need you to work with me just a bit longer, okay?"

"When'd we get ousside?" He slurs.

"Not long after you said goodbye to the flowers," you say, rolling your eyes. "Watch your head, babe."

He ducks under your guiding palm, but you're not fast enough before he bumps the crown of his head against the door frame, mumbling a soft "ow" before moving on. It takes everything in your power to not laugh at his poor expense.

"It's because you've got such a big melon head, booger," you tease, and he smiles softly.

"'Ike mewons."

"I know baby."

You buckle him in before closing the door. You give yourself a stretch before heading to the driver's side.

You hadn't had him out of your sight for 25 seconds before you open the door and see him with your chapstick, completely rolled up and making a move towards his mouth.

He's either eating it, or trying to apply it.

Neither sounds like a good idea.

“Rintaro!” You scold, reaching for the chapstick. “You can’t eat that! You’ll get sick!”

“You’re th'ick,” he grumbles, but he does release his hold on your chapstick. His head thunks back against the headrest, letting you buckle while he says one more round of goodbyes to the flowers.

"Gonna nap," he murmurs, and you chose not to fight him on it. "Don't pick mah nothe."

"Why the hell would I do that?" You ask, laughing as you start the car.

He doesn't answer you. He's too busy letting his jaw slack open and let out the wheeziest of snores. You put your hand on his thigh and squeeze lovingly, allowing the hum of the engine and warmth from the sun lull him to sleep.

He's out, he's comfortable, and you can't wait to tell him about how, even drugged out of his mind, he still tried to put the moves on you.

You'll have to leave out the head smacking, though. Let him blame himself for that bruising.

I love this man so much it ain't even funny. Beautifully designed, I don't call people/characters "hot" often, but he's the exception to my rules, just look at him, he's so hot ahahaha. Beautiful man all around, I'm very normal about the fanart of him.

I'm feral about him, as you already know ahaha. He needs so much therapy, honestly, and I'm both still upset we didn't get the planned amount of screentime for him and somewhat grateful we still got so much of him since it makes for such a fun time exploring the possibilities with him.

Izutsumi

My friend told me I would like her before I even started watching so I was SO excited to get to her and she did not disappoint.

I think I'm probably yet to know more in depth about her since I have been spoiled a bit about the manga events but I haven't taken it up yet, whoops. I'm a bit bad keeping up with manga but I fully intend to at some point.

In any case she's really so fun. I love how the way in which she acts and reacts isn't just that she's partially a cat and very much acts like it haha, she just seems to have a lot going on as well, which doesn't really help with the trust issues all around. She's wet, sad and pathetic in the way all cats are and I love that about her.

She's probably not getting that much of a peaceful time all things considered but I'm rooting for her. If you didn't want to get incorporated into the found family, Izutsumi, you should have murdered them before eating their food.

Teruhashi

Oh, Teruhashi, nobody gets you like I do (well, certainly not the haters at least).

I can't even say I disliked her at first because she was so funny to me. Girlie shows up onscreen for the first time and goes "yes, I'm the specialest girl on Earth", what's not to like? She's just really fun and she's right, which makes it even better.

I didn't mark it and now I'm regretting it but she's a bit of a sopping wet cat too sometimes lmao. Sobbing wailing losing it over her crush. This is so clearly the first time this happens to her and it's so fucking funny but also very compelling. Girl who is used to being in control of how she uses the way in which she's perceived is confronted with an autistic guy who doesn't emote and she can't read him. Rip.

Honestly her situation is so horrific once you look past the comedy aspect tho, which is the case for most of these characters so I think she needs comfort, lots of therapy and a good support system. She's halfway through that with her friends group at least but she's sooo gonna crash once she has some realizations about her life.

I love her so much, people who hate her can't see the vision but she's perfect in all the ways that matter.

“When Billy Black received a call from a man he’d never met; and frankly thought the walking corpse was something made up by his grandfather to make him eat his vegetables, he prepared for everything… but this.” 

I hate this line in Midnight Sun, hate it, but it’s crucial to Billy’s character (and Carlisle’s).  He’s told his son, the only family member he has left at that point, will one day be stolen of all autonomy and choice and there’s nothing he can do about it, and he knows what it feels like to lose all choice. While he couldn’t tell Jacob directly he could worry and worry he did. He, however, didn’t think he’d ever have to worry for Charlie. Which (in my mind) is why he fights so hard to make Bella breakup with Edward before he kills her. And then New Moon happens and everything in Billy Black’s life is falling completely apart. 

“Charlie had shown up with the safe for the first time in the middle of a storm, a less than two-week-old Bella in the backseat. Sarah rocked her to sleep as Billy helped take up enough carpet to reach the subfloor. ‘It’s a rough transition, all you can do is be there for her. Help her, protect her.’”

I have a little headcanon that Renee struggled in the postpartum period before deciding to leave Charlie (I think there’s arguments for this in canon) which I use to justify why Bella is a touch detached from Renesmee once she’s born. 

 “It was a well-known fact he wasn’t Renee’s number-one fan, no one that knew her was”

I think Billy had to really bite his tongue when Renee and Charlie eloped. I also think the only reason Billy held his tongue is because Sue threatened to cut it out. That whole group hated Renee but figured, hoped, it was nothing more than a fling so they never said anything besides snide comments until Charlie showed up with a gold band on his finger. (This commentary, and subconscious knowing he was making a mistake, was why Charlie hid his marriage until the ink was dry). 

Those one off comments is seen in the moment leading up to this line: 

“Says ‘she’s just a kid. Kids do these kinds of things.’ Thinks it all just work out, it did for her after all,” Charlie said, kicking at the corner of the beige carpet. It was the first time in weeks Billy had heard any emotion in his friend’s voice. 

“Glad to see she hasn’t changed a bit,” Billy muttered.

“Or maybe, she was her father’s kid. The man who stole Billy’s fishing boat in the dead of night to do something stupid. The man Billy had rocked as he wailed his lungs out in the middle of the ocean. The man who had a large part of him die when Renee closed that door.”

There’s a deleted line in the New Moon script that I know exists but I can’t find at this moment where Charlie talks about going to a really dark place when Renee left — this was the best way I could figure out how to represent that and also have a big enough event to trigger Billy into putting such strict restrictions on his best friend. (This incident is in the multi-chapter Thing about them and is a huge moment in their relationship). 

“You don’t have to lie to me, we’ve done this before.” Billy’s hand softly landed on Charlie’s arm. 

“I’m fine. Thanks, Bill.” 

I don’t have any commentary besides this interaction (while I wrote it) lives in my head rent free. Also Charlie is the only one who can call Billy Bill. 

“You want to stay for a beer? I bought a fresh pack of Ballantines, I could call Harry. We could watch a game,” Billy offered. He’d bought the beer three weeks ago, the six-pack collecting dust as it waited for Charlie. Billy didn’t drink but if he did it wouldn’t be Ballantine. But Charlie hadn’t come by and the beer sat undrunk, the game unwatched. 

Canonically Charlie drinks Rainer, I however am a Frasier stan through and through and associated Martin Crane, retired cop and dad trying his best but coming up short most of the time, with Charlie’s drinking habits. The Billy not drinking is a headcanon of mine in ‘grief in a glass’ and have just stuck with. 

 Billy flipped the porch light on. Perhaps Charlie wouldn’t admit it just yet but one night he would need a life preserver and the porch light would be on, it always had been. 

This is a headcanon I established in a different Billy-centric piece, ‘grief in a glass’,  where he leaves the porch light on for Sue after Harry’s funeral for days until she joins him for a drink.

Prompt: Scaring your lover, who is a member of a dangerous gang, may not be such a good idea but you can't resist the urge to catch them off guard.

-ˋˏ Mikey ˎˊ-

Scaring this man is almost akin to making it rain in the desert. Mikey is not someone who easily gets scared and would often laugh at those who do. Still, you take it as a challenge to scare him, especially when he least expects it. Try and jump on him from behind? He will only stare at you as if you grew a second head. Show him a video with a jumpscare at the end? Dude won't even flinch. You have to get creative to achieve a good reaction.

And what better way than to coat yourself with fake blood, with a fake knife on your chest—making it look like you got stabbed. You then waited anxiously for his arrival, standing by the door. The moment he came in, tired from a long day of meetings and wanted nothing more than to lie down with you, he didn't expect you to grab him from behind. Moaning and wailing as you did so, watching as his emotionless eyes fill with something of surprise and concern after flinching.

As you were pointing at his face, laughing and grinning victoriously, your merrymaking was cut short when it looked like he was about to cry.

"[Y/N], don't do that ever again..." He whispered, clutching your bloodied shirt in fear of you disappearing right before his eyes. You could see the corner of his eyes glisten with unshed tears, hands trembling like a scared kitten that made you instantly regret doing it. You immediately apologized, offering a hug to which he didn't decline despite the fake blood staining your skin and dripping onto the floor.

-ˋˏ Sanzu ˎˊ-

Hear me out. This man right here will probably be the easiest to scare but doing so will produce terrifying outcomes. You once heard that the Haitani brothers had to be rushed to the clinic after getting shot in the leg when they attempted to scare Sanzu into thinking he has been kidnapped. Another was how Koko scared him by hiding his stash of his favorite 'candies' and claiming they were taken to the incinerator along with their victims. You didn't have to ask Koko what transpired after based on how he avoided the topic whenever it was tossed into the table.

You were quite curious too about how your crazy lover would react if you tried to scare him. There was no way he would hurt you, right? He loves you and you know he would never... right?

Despite the rational voice in your head saying not to, you did so anyway. Dressed up in a killer clown getup, you held your prop tightly which was a fake butcher's knife you bought at the dollar store. And so, you waited in the dark in your shared apartment.

"Baby, I'm home!"

"Boo!" You screamed, running up to your pink-haired lover while running up to him, waving the fake knife around.

"Holy fuck!" Sanzu screamed, grabbing his katana behind the door where it was usually placed and unsheathed it. The sight of the blade instantly made you halt on your tracks and start running away from Sanzu while yelling at him to stop. Suffice to say, that would be your last attempt at scaring him.

-ˋˏ Ran ˎˊ-

Ever the bastard he is, when you're watching a horror film, he would often tease you whenever you flinch or cover your eyes. He takes delight in seeing you tremble, clutching to his arm and seeking his protection. You begin to think that the egotistical bastard is doing it on purpose, making you watch these horror films to have you shrink into his chest. Would even scare you by making you watch those videos with jumpscares. So when you asked why he isn't bothered by such imageries, you found yourself rolling your eyes at his answer. Obviously, he would claim nothing scares him at all.

It has then become a life mission of yours to scare him shitless.

With help from Rindou, you then learn from him that Ran was scared of the famous Jason Voorhees character. And so, without wasting time, you found yourself waiting for him in your shared bedroom in your little getup.

"Doll? Where are you?"

You heard Ran question from outside, trying to find you. The bedroom door then swung open and the moment your boyfriend flicked the light switch on, you emerged from your hiding spot to jump on him from behind.

"Shit! Fuck!" Ran's hearing was sharp, hand taking his baton and struck you, missing your head and aimed your hand instead. Fake machete falling to the ground as you cursed in pain. Hearing that it was you behind the mask, he paled immediately. The rest of the evening was spent applying ice on your hand.

-ˋˏ Rindou ˎˊ-

Unlike the older Haitani, Rindou is probably the hardest to scare—second to Mikey. Even if you try and make him watch all sorts of horror films to those with gore scenes, he would hardly budge. Probably because he is used to seeing grotesque scenes every day with his job, Rindou is like a rock most of the time.

You know better than to jump him from behind, though. With how you've seen him react so fast whenever Sanzu tried to sneak up from behind which usually ended with the pink-haired nursing a headache or a sprained hand, you knew better than to scare Rindou that way. Still, there was always something.

"Are you sure this would scare him?" You asked Ran, who nodded as he shoved you the wig he bought.

"Don't worry, this will definitely work. Just trust me."

And so you did, now standing in front of the bed waiting for your lover to wake up and see you in the getup you wore. Seeing him stir, you fought back a giggle as he squinted at your appearance as he sat up. Purple irises bore at your own purple contacts to the wig that matched Ran's old hairstyle back then. Even the baton you held was identical to Ran's.

"What the fuck is this shit?"

It was eerie, to say the least. Rindou then shut his eyes, refusing to leave the bed with you looking like his brother, two-toned braids and all. Even groaned when you imitated the older Haitani's voice, flopping down next to him.

"I'll kill him..." You heard Rindou mutter underneath the blankets.

-ˋˏ Kakucho ˎˊ-

The type to indulge you in your little attempts to scare him. That doesn't mean he gets scared easily but when he knows it's you, he'll go the extra mile to appear terrified even if you are only dressed like a common white sheet ghost. You knew you had to get creative to capture that pure look of terror from your boyfriend's usually stoic face.

So, when he saw whom he thought was you, dressed up as a ghost, all he did was gasp softly before chuckling.

"Baby, you scared me..." He fought back a chuckle, approaching his love with arms wide. "Shouldn't you be dressing up for our date this evening?"

"Babe, who are you talking to?"

Exiting from your hiding spot, not wearing a ghost outfit but the dress you were going to wear for tonight's dinner date, you fought back the laugh bubbling on your throat at Kakucho's bewildered expression. Shifting his glance between you and the person dressed up as a ghost—who was actually Sanzu that you roped into your plans—Kakucho paled before pulling out his gun, pointing it at the imposter.

Luckily for Sanzu, Kakucho was easy to reason with.

Sorry, but I don't think this old man would be the type to get scared at all. Probably because he is Sanzu's older brother so he has seen some shit that would put horror films to shame. Still, it doesn't hurt to try. But even if you are dressed like a zombie that is on par in appearance with those in Resident Evil, he would only stare at you in wonder.

"Babe, you could've at least gasped or anything!" You complained, sighing as you start to wipe the makeup off of your face after hours of meticulously applying it just to scare your boyfriend. Lighting a cigarette, Takeomi shot you a small smile.

"You did well on your costume though. Good job on that."

"Perhaps I'll dress up as one of your cancer sticks for you to take a second look!"

Takeomi laughed.

Scare him by jumping from behind? The dude will probably laugh and stick out his tongue at you. But doing the same while holding out a wad of cash next to a lighter, giggling like a madman? Koko would definitely scream in horror.

"[Y/N]! What the fuck are you doing? Why are you going to burn that cash? Have you gone insane?" Koko yelled, reaching out to try and swipe the lighter away. The game of you avoiding his hands and him trying to reason with you went on for a few more minutes until Koko's hand swatted the lighter, making it fall to the ground and start burning up the carpet below you both.

Fortune was on your side when you both managed to put out the fire before it burned your whole living room.

Dress up as any monster or ghost, the dude will probably flinch if you scare him from behind. Might even lecture you about frightening people afterward. He would say it is rude and you might scare someone who has heart problems, causing more trouble. However, the moment you are out of earshot, he would chuckle and shake his head.

"You must understand, [Y/N]. What if you happen to scare someone else and they have a heart condition? What would happen then? Do you think Bonten or I have the time to deal with such things?"

"Sorry, Sir. It won't happen again."

he's so gentle and loving. he has so many reasons to be jaded and selfish and bitter but he's not. he values innocence, he is so kind especially to kids, he wants to protect his loved ones and to fight for them rather than himself. he's my favorite archetype of character: the gentle badass. real "i do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. i love only that which they defend" energy.

unpopular opinion

he doesn't try to get eiji to leave him/try to leave eiji bc of ~abandonment issues~ lmfao he does it bc eiji got kidnapped and traumatized in a horrific way once already and he doesn't wanna see it happen again??? also i am literally begging yall to learn how to characterize him correctly bc i swear to god everyone either leans too hard into ~dark academia~ tropes/aesthetics (i.e. makes him just straight up ooc) or makes his literal only trait "having ptsd" and both of those takes fucking suck actually.

especially the "his only personality trait is having trauma" one, bc it invariably leads to demonization of ppl w trauma bc it DOES make a relationship read as v unhealthy if one person in it has literally no personality outside of being traumatized and sad all the time. but thats not ACCURATE or even realistic as a depiction of ppl w ptsd and it makes me want to tear my hair out!!! *stern parent voice* im gonna have to take ash lynx away if yall dont learn to behave

Hongjoong

Hongjoong works on Merchandise in Magic Kingdom’s Emporium.

One of the best workers in the store, loves keeping everything in place and is actually very nice to guests by nature.

Probably gets to be a trainer way soon because he’s always helping the newbies anyways.

Gets Cast Compliments on a daily basis but doesn’t brag about it unless someone else brings it up.

Very nice when turning down people who flirt with him as he’s checking out their souvenirs but is highkey flustered by it.

Seonghwa

Seonghwa is a character attendant, although he could be a prince himself (Trust me, he’d get the joke waaaay often)

He works at Epcot most of the time with the characters around the World Showcase.

Is used to getting the attention of the older siblings as the children wail excitedly about getting a picture with Donald Duck. 

Has also become an expert on turning them down without being rude.

I mean Seonghwa is a gentleman but won’t hesitate to call out your actions specially if you won’t let him or his fellow Cast Member do their job.

Do expect him to talk shit about the worst people he encountered through the day once he’s off the clock.

Yunho

Yunho is another Merchandise worker, and his favorite spot is selling balloons on Main Street.

There’s just something wonderful about turning around and seeing Cinderella’s Castle just a few steps away.

He also loves that he gets to see tons of people, and doesn’t mind when people ask him to borrow his balloons to get a picture, he’ll gladly do it.

Gets a lot of the dumbest questions just because people who find him attractive want to talk to him.

‘Uh... where can I find the Castle?’ He’ll just smile and explain gently that they literally need to walk a few feet more.

Yeosang

I see him working on a fancy restaurant tbh, like the California Grill (Contemporary Resort).

Yeosang got used pretty quickly to the (mostly) snobby people who visit the restaurant. 

Will not take your shit if you work there too and you want to act all stuck up.

People love having him as a waiter though because he’s soft spoken and has gotten very good at recommending things to costumers.

Has probably gotten numbers attached to his tips but throws them away immediately.

Yeosang is a very nice worker, probably talks to everyone who works in the hotel’s restaurants and shares scary customer service stories with them as the leave the place.

San

At first I thought I wouldn’t trust him with working on Attractions.

But working at Nemo’s can’t be harmful for him (or anyone else) it’s Nemo!

Also he’d look adorable in those clothes, please.

San might get bored every now and then but he also enjoys that his attraction is not super crazy with people. 

Probably will make a conversation with anyone that approachs him to ask anything. 

Enjoys walking by the aquarium and probably gets distracted for more time than he’s supposed to.

LOVES CHILDREN, he will call everyone princess/prince, buddy, etc.

Mingi

I see him either in ‘It’s tough to be a bug’ (Animal Kingdom) or the Muppets Show (Hollywood Studios)

Mingi will laugh even if he’s heard the show and the jokes 900 times during the day.

Smiles at everyone on their way out as he picks up the 3-D glasses and gives children high-fives.

If he gets to be at the start of the line he’ll also greet everyone passing by, he also gets very stupid questions just for the sake of interaction.

Don’t do that to him, he’ll get awkward and in the end won’t know how to explain.

Wooyoung

This little shit brags about working at Soarin’ (Epcot) all the time.

The rest of the boys make fun of him for the clothes they wear at Soarin’ but he claims they’re jealous bc his job is cool.

And he does love where he works but like, there’s so many people all the time... and they just won’t listen!!!

Wooyoung gets tired of having to use his costumer service voice instead of just telling them “WHAT IS IT THAT YOU DON’T GET?!”

His favorite part is actually being in charge of starting the Attraction.

Jongho

Jongho works at the Satu’li Canteen at Animal Kingdom!

Working fast food is a little crazy but he enjoys it a lot, specially in a place such as Pandora, where everyone is just wonderstruck at everything.

Enjoys talking to people and doesn’t mind answering questions, even the dumb ones, because he knows people can be confused.

He really doesn’t like when people get rude (I mean who does) but he gets a tiny wee bit passive agressive.

Is constantly bickering with Wooyoung about whose workplace is cooler.

Constantly gets told off for taking too long with costumers when taking their orders but it’s not his fault they all wanna chat him up.
