Winning Piece.
Synopsis: “Two hearts once bound by ink and lens, Torn apart by time’s cruel hands. A boy with words, a girl with light, Reunite as rivals in fate’s quiet fight.”
Note: (Based on a tiktok post. I also HC that akaashi, before joining the vb club, he's once a journalism club member. I mean him and his timeskip job make sense righttt?????)
Akaashi Keiji x Reader
It was the quiet shuffle of pages and the faint scratching of pens that first brought Akaashi Keiji and Y/N together. Their world was a symphony of ink and thought, tethered by a mutual love for stories untold. They met beneath a canopy of stars on the terrace of an old bookstore, during a city-wide workshop for young journalists. Y/N, from a rival school, was the spark to Akaashi’s composed demeanor, her laugh like wind chimes and her thoughts a kaleidoscope of color.
"Do you always take notes this neatly?" Y/N had teased, leaning over Akaashi’s shoulder to glimpse his meticulous handwriting.
He glanced at her, a slight blush painting his cheeks. "It helps organize my thoughts. What about you? Do you always carry that camera around?"
Y/N grinned, holding up the vintage camera she’d inherited from her grandmother. "Every photo tells a story. I just happen to love writing them down too."
And just like that, two dreamers found themselves drawn to one another. They spent hours talking about the power of words, the beauty of a perfectly timed photograph, and the shared dream of becoming storytellers for the world. Akaashi had never been so captivated by someone’s passion. She made the mundane feel extraordinary, and he, ever the listener, found himself inspired in ways he hadn’t thought possible.
For a year, they were inseparable. Akaashi began journaling because of her, filling pages with thoughts he’d never spoken aloud. She called it his “soul on paper,” and when she read his entries, he felt seen in a way that volleyball or schoolwork had never managed.
But life has a way of pulling people apart. Y/N’s family moved cities, and the once endless conversations turned into fragmented texts and missed calls. They didn’t argue; they simply drifted. One day, the silence became permanent, leaving Akaashi with a journal full of memories and the faint scent of her favorite lavender perfume lingering in the pages.
Years Later
Akaashi hadn’t thought about her in a long time. Volleyball had filled the void she’d left behind, giving him a new purpose. But his love for journaling never faded, even if it became a private endeavor. Now, standing in the bustling hall of a national journalism competition, he felt a twinge of nostalgia as he adjusted the strap of his camera bag.
“Next participant, please,” the registration assistant called, pulling Akaashi out of his thoughts.
As he handed over his documents, he heard a familiar voice behind him, cheerful and sharp.
“I’m here to win, not waste time.”
He turned, and there she was—Y/N. Her hair was shorter, her presence still radiant. She didn’t notice him at first, too busy chatting with her team. But when their eyes finally met, the world seemed to tilt on its axis.
“Akaashi?” Her voice was a mix of surprise and uncertainty.
“Y/N,” he replied, a ghost of a smile tugging at his lips.
For a moment, the noise around them dulled, leaving only the weight of everything unsaid.
The competition began with fervor, each task designed to test their skills. Akaashi worked silently, his focus unshakable. Y/N, on the other hand, attacked each challenge with her usual gusto, her laughter and determination lighting up the room.
“Still the quiet perfectionist, I see,” Y/N quipped during a break, handing him a cup of coffee.
“And you’re still as bold as ever,” he replied, taking a sip.
Their conversations were brief but charged with unspoken tension. It was clear that both were determined to win, but something deeper lingered beneath their rivalry—a longing to reclaim what they had lost.
The last round was announced: Capture and narrate a moment that defines connection. Participants had two hours to create their entries. Akaashi wandered the venue, camera in hand, his thoughts a whirlwind. It was then he saw her, standing by a sunlit window, her camera raised as she focused on a group of children playing outside. The light framed her perfectly, highlighting the concentration etched on her face.
Without thinking, Akaashi raised his camera. The click of the shutter was soft, but the image it captured was profound. In that moment, she wasn’t his rival—she was the girl who once made him believe in the beauty of storytelling.
The auditorium buzzed with anticipation as the winners were announced. Y/N sat a few rows behind Akaashi, her heart pounding in equal parts hope and dread. When his name was called for first place, a round of applause erupted. Y/N’s stomach sank, but she clapped nonetheless, her pride for him overshadowing her disappointment.
The winning piece was unveiled on a large screen: a black-and-white photograph of Y/N by the window, her camera poised and her eyes glowing with determination. The accompanying narrative spoke of *eunion, the bittersweet passage of time, and the eternal connection between dreamers.
Y/N stared at the screen, her breath catching. She hadn’t realized she was the subject of Akaashi’s submission.
“You used me as your muse,” Y/N said, finding Akaashi after the ceremony. Her voice was teasing, but her eyes were glassy with unshed tears.
“You’ve always been my muse,” he admitted, holding her gaze. “That photo… it reminded me why I started journaling. Why I fell in love with storytelling. Why I fell in love with you.”
Y/N froze, her heart pounding as his words hung in the air. “Akaashi… I didn’t think we’d ever get this chance again.”
“Neither did I,” he said softly. “But maybe some stories aren’t meant to end.”
As the evening faded into twilight, they found themselves walking together, their conversation flowing as if no time had passed. The years apart had changed them, but the connection they shared was timeless—a story still waiting to be written.

NewJeans Hanni x Reader - "What's Your ETA?"
It's really not that obvious who's my bias in NewJeans and what's my recent favorite song of them, right? Righttt? ;)
Your attention was diverted by a ringtone from your phone while you were busy drafting the lyrics for a song you were ready to play for your subscribers as a thank-you present for their support in helping you reach the 500K subscriber milestone on YouTube.
When you took it up off the table, the screen on the ID displayed your friend Haerin's name.
As you read over the lines you've already typed, you swiped the phone to the green button to answer and activated speaker mode.
"Hey Hyerin, what's up?"
"YN! Are you busy?" Hyerin asked with a frantic tone.
Furrowing your eyebrows, you sensed some trouble within Haerin's way of talking at you. "Uhh just writing a song here in my house, not that busy though. Why?"
"Good. C-can you talk to Hanni right now?" Hyerin stuttered because of her uneasiness.
"Why? Is there something happened between the two of you?" You asked curiously. "Sounds like you're nervous, did you two fought?"
"No, I-I mean... we didn't but... I think I pissed her off."
"What did you do then... and wait, what's with the loud noise in the background?" You spotted the only noise barrier that's been keeping you two quite hard to understand each other's words at each other's side of the line.
"Well... I'm at the party with Danielle, Minji, and Hyein. We were invited to perform here." Hyerin explained.
"And why's Hanni not with you four?"
"She said she's not feeling well so we did let her rest." She answered. "And now I'm getting worried for her because that girl's probably breaking down right now of what I've told her."
"And that is?"
Haerin sighed and clicked her tongue, massaging her head. "I reported to her that we saw her b-boyfriend here in the party... and he's flirting with another girl here."
Your blood starts to boil after hearing that information. The emotions intensify as it left distaste on you to learn that the bastard who won Hanni's heart against you still had the audacity to cheat on the most precious girl you've ever met in your whole life.
"How long he's been doing that?"
"More than an hour, I suppose."
"Keep your eyes at them. I'm going to Hanni's house and... say my hi also to the girls."
You heard Haerin passed the message to the other three who were just sitting at the same table together. They exclaimed their greeting at you, making you nod and smile at their adorable voices.
"Got it, oppa."
Haerin took the initiation to end the phone call. You closed your eyes and seethed off the anger rising inside of you as the memories brought you back on remembering those times when he always gets to snatch the opportunity and advantage away from you on winning Hanni's attention to recognize your genuine feelings for your bestfriend. You were a man of sportsmanship. Although it is painful that Hanni didn't end up with you, you tried so hard to accept the fact. You swore to self that you will maintain your attention focused at Hanni every day because who knows there will be a time that despite Hanni has already a man with her, there could be an instance that he's gone and that would put Hanni into a sense of loneliness in the midst of darkness... and you want to be the first person who would come and provide her companionship anytime it may be.
And you were right. It did happen, and it was a perfect time for 'I told you so'. You aren't happy that Hanni had to experience this moment, but at the samd you are relieved and glad that because of what that guy did to her already... you have no other choice but to do your role as her bestfriend and a secret admirer to her: pull her apart from him and do your best to prove her better instead.
Hanni deserves everything that is wonderful in this world, and you are willing to give it all for her as much as you can. This is why you have to do it.
Replacing your house attire with a much presentable casual outfit, you went out of your house and drove your car all the way to the destination which is Hanni's residence.
You parked and hurriedly went to the front door as you knocked slightly aggressive. "Hanni! It's me, YN!"
There was no response. You knocked again, a bit louder in fact, and continued to call her name.
"Hanni! Open the door, please!"
You were having growing suspicions and feeling strange that nobody's responding to your calls so you tried to peek on the windows but it was all covered in curtains, preventing you from the interior.
Picking up your phone, you dialed Hanni's number and waited for it as it rang.
"Cmon... pick it up, pick it up." You said as you tapped your shoes on the ground.
A few seconds after, the profile switches to a timer, informing that the respondent reaches the call. You pressed your phone on your ear and began speaking.
"Hanni! Why are you not in the house?"
"What?"
"I'm here in front of your house. Hyerin said that you're sick. Where did you go?"
"S-so she told you about it too?..." Hanni weakly said. You recognized it immediately what she's referring at.
"Yes, and I came here to check up on you but you weren't here. Where are you now?"
"I just left 3 minutes ago from there." Hanni replied. "I'm on my way to the party."
"Party? Wait, what?" You blurted. "Hanni, you don't need to go there. You have to rest!"
"And what! Just let my boyfriend there flirting along with a girl behind my back?!" Hanni frustratedly complained. "No, YN. I have t-to catch him. I'm going to make him regret what he did to me."
"Hanni, wait. Please, are you serious right now? You're going there all by yourself, and you're even sick right now while you're driving!"
"I'm recovering now! But nothing's gonna stop me from getting back at him." Hanni started to sniff, signalling that she's definitely beginning to cry and it pangs your heart listening to her pain. "I-It hurts... why did he do this to me, YN? I tried to be a great g-girlfriend to him but wasn't... wasn't I enough?"
"Hanni, I understand what you're going through right now okay? Even me dislikes what he did but... again, you're still not in a good condition so far and you're going there alone." You emphatized. "I know you have the girls there monitoring him but I just... let me be on your side like I always do for you, Hanni. I want to join and assist you on this because you mean a lot for me."
Hanni's heart swelled at your sweet and kind words. She smiled a little aside from the cruel situation she's in as of now. "T-thank you, YN."
"No problem, Hanni. Now tell me, do you know the location of the party?"
"i know, it was my former classmate's residence which is a close friend of Hyerin." Hanni said. "I-I'll give you the address."
"Alright, I'll try to catch up on you. Just... when you are already there, don't go there all by yourself. W-wait for me, please. Okay?"
"O-okay."
She ended the call and sent the message directly to you. You sighed heavily and lowered your head as the echoes of her pitiful somber repeats inside your head. It motivated you to help her in this current tough time she's dealing at.
You were about to enter the car when a kid suddenly appeared beside you, tugging your pants.
"M-mister, wait!"
"Oh uhm..." You were taken aback at this kid's presence. "Hey, little one. What is it?"
"C-can you get my kite f-from there, mister/miss?" The kid pointed at the kite stuck in the tree placed in front of a house. "Please... I don't want my mom to be mad at me. She made it for me."
You sighed and tightlipped. You are in a hurry, yes... but still your good-hearted soul couldn't resist a poor kid who is afraid of his parents just because he unintentionally lost a kite that is already meant a lot to his entertainment.
"Don't cry now kid, I'll get it for you." You nodded and patted his head. The kid led you to the tree where his kite is twirled and just swaying there along to the breeze of the thin air.
You noticed that the string were just wrapped around the branch and it's that high for you to reach. You thanked that it was not that hard and too much of a time consuming task for you to do.
Climbing the three, you stretched you body to untangle the string carefully on the branch until you finally got a grasp on it with it's straight form, now back at its fixed condition.
You jumped from the tree and stood in front of the kid. "Here's your kite. You can still play with it." you said as you handed it to him.
"Yehey!!! Thank you so much mister/miss!!!" He cheered loudly and you smiled at his bright mood. You patted again his head and return back to your car.
As you opened the door, you observed that there's a black cat sitting in the roof of your car. You had a staredown with it when it turned its head at you.
You were about to help it go down but it neverminded your kind deed, jumping out of your car by itself.
You just shrugged and entered the car to start driving away.
In the middle of the drive, you removed your focus on the road for a while to switch your music on the radio. It was then you had a glimpse of your gas meter that the fuel of your car is now at a low percentage.
"Oh you got to be kidding me." You groaned.
Fortunately, there was a gas station beside the highway. You went there and refilled you fuel first because obviously you wouldn't like not only yourself taking too much time to reach the party and meet Hanni but also to leave your car there, cause a problem to the other drivers, and have it towed away.
As it got refilled, you thanked the worker and entered your car as you proceeded driving. Remembering Hanni, you contacted her again to get updated. "Where are you now?"
"I'm close. Just a turn at the end and I'll be there now." She answered with a cough after she spoke, confirming to you that she is indeed still not fully recovered yet from her sickness. You felt sorry again for her that she had to go through this and leave her be at peace where she would be rather stay at home and continue resting.
"Okay. I'm on my way now." You stated. Right as you turned off the call, you stopped your car when the other one in front of you did the same, and that's until you realized that you are now in the middle of a traffic.
"BAD TIMING!" You pounded your fist on the steering wheel, causing a honking sound when you hit the horn. Looking back at the time, there's only 9 minutes left before it turns to five in the afternoon. Then, you already knew that you may be a few minutes late since Hanni might have already arrived. You just hope for the best that she won't make a create much of a scene out of catching her cheating boyfriend and that Haerin and the girls would be there to back up her.
You patiently awaited the cars to keep going since you knew that such an annoying circumstance had to develop at the worst possible time when you are in a rush.
There's only 5 minutes remaining in your watch, your desperation urges you to just hop out of the car and run it all the way or just grab a cab through the location instead.
Thankfully, the traffic loosened and the car started to move again, much to your relief but still disappointed that it wasted much of your time remaining.
You successfully made it. The party is still ongoing inside, and you entered the house because luckily there was no guards for you to be questioned if you got any invitation or not.
You went to the backyard and spotted Haerin, Danielle, Hyein, and Minji doing a Super Shy challenge with some strangers, might be their friends you just don't recognize.
As they finished, you called for their names and you drew their attention at you. "YN!"
"Girls!" You exclaimed. "Did you guys saw Hanni?"
"What?" Haerin was puzzled. "Why are you looking for her here? I told you she didn't come with us today, right?"
You facepalmed as you just recalled that she did said that but you never updated her back that Hanni was planning to come in the party.
"Ah shit, I forgot!" You sweared. "So none of you have seen her?"
"YN what is going on?!" Hyein asked, all of them are getting confused now.
"Hanni said she's going here to confront her boyfriend!" Your voice increased, the mix of unknown and nervousness is making you uncomfortable in your stance.
"Huh?!" Minji reacted the loudest. "But we never saw any signs of her around here."
"Then where did she went if that so..." You roamed your eyes around the crowded area as the thoughts only occupied of Hanni attacking your mind in a sense of fear and danger.
"Wait... his boyfriend..." You returned your glances at them. "Where is he?"
"Oh wait!" Danielle exclaimed. "I-I saw him went out of the house with the girl he's flirting with while I was grabbing a food at the kitchen!"
"Then they must be out already, and we lost them..." You slapped your thigh irritatedly as you hissed at your words.
"Wait, unless..." Your eyes sprung up when a possibility just occurred in your head. "Oh no."
"What is it, YN?"
They began calling your name as you quickly ran out of the house while you dialed Hanni's number.
She answered the call. "Hanni. HANNI, WHERE ARE YOU? I'M HERE AT THE PARTY ALREADY. I ASKED THE GIRLS IF-" You paused at your speaking when you heard Hanni crying on the phone.
"Hanni?"
"They were right..." Hanni said between her sobs. "I should've been more aware, now I know why they weren't so okay in their first impression of him..."
She keeps on muttering all her regrets while watching her boyfriend and the girls she's being cheated at kissing beside the house. Hanni is inside the car, sitting on the driver's seat, hands gripping tightly at the steering wheel matched with the intensity of the despair, anger, and dismay she's containing for the sinful act of his boyfriend that she's witnessing.
"Where are you, Hanni? Please, just tell me."
"How could he do this to me... I gave it all, my love... my choice... my trust. I don't know if I could still forgive him, YN."
Her hand starts to hold the stick shift and her feet positioned on the pedal as her lips crunched and eyes dimmed in rage.
You heard an engine revved near at your spot and looked at it.
"YN! THAT'S HANNI'S CAR!" Haerin shouted from the gate, your friends followed you after you began searching for Hanni.
"Yet what I just received in return from him is to break my heart and throw it all in the waste... I'M GOING TO MAKE SURE HE'LL SUFFER WORSE THAN ME!"
She was about to step on the pedal as she screamed in anger when just in time you grabbed her arm, surprising her. You saw that her window is down as you sprinted towards her car.
"Let me go! LET ME GO!"
You opened the car and hugged her instantly. She still tried to force you away from her but the longer you embraced her, the more she starts to calm down and let herself pour all her devastation at you.
"Please, don't. Don't do it, Hanni. You may not deserve what you get, but you don't have to do this. Don't be worse than what he did to you. Let him face the consequences on his own fate."
You helped Hanni get out from the car to allow her breathe some fresh air as you two were joined by Haerin, Minji, Danielle, and Hyein. They gave their friend a group hug to console the heartbroken lover.
Your stare sharpened when you caught the boyfriend and the girl watching the scenario. The girls looked at the direction you are looking at, with Hanni stepping away from the group to finally confront her cheating boyfriend.
"L-look, Hanni... I can exp-"
*SLAP*
The guy touched his aching cheek where Hanni slapped him. "You're done. I'm breaking up with you, and I don't want to see you ever again, do you understand me?", she intimidatingly said with angst.
"H-Hanni... p-please, listen to-"
"She said what she said. Starting today, you stay the hell away from her, you bastard." You grunted as you pulled Hanni back at you again.
Hanni rolled her eyes disgustingly at the girl she's being cheated at before her ex and the girl left. As their figures vanished, she returned on hugging you again as she starts crying out on your body. You stayed there, patting her back to provide comfort at her while your group softly and admiringly watches you two.
"Thank you, YN. I'm sorry if I was stupid to end up with him."
You chuckled and shook your head. "Don't blame yourself. Didn't we all become stupid when we fell in love with somebody. We don't think of the consequences, but rather we look forward at our feelings at first."
"I get it, we just want to try make ourselves oblivious to disregard and escape all the pain we could receive, even though in the end there will always be someone that will enable you to finally wake up in reality to spare you from it... because simply that person just doesn't want to see you suffering any longer." You smiled at Hanni. "You can take it being each of us as your friends including me who also... never gave up loving you." you muttered solemnly at the near end.
Hanni lifted her head and looked at you astoundingly. Her mouth agape, learning that the special boy she's embracing is not only the one who's been very extremely meaningful to her life as her closest friend... but also as the man/woman who was treating her more valuable for so long than what she does, remained loyal and faithful for his/her love to her, even though she didn't picked him/her in the first place and instead chose a bad decision by being with a traitor and didn't cherished all her efforts in return. And that's what she always desired. It's just that she never thought that all of what she's been looking for is already an amalgamation of a perfect lover type... which is you being on her side through most of the times where she needs you.
The girls put up a broadly smile, knowing that you finally got to confess your love for Hanni. Hyerin would never call you right away when they needed a help for Hanni if it wasn't also for that reason.
"Y-you're serious, YN? You meant it?"
You nodded. "I've been loving you for 5 years, 6 months and counting, Pham Hanni. And I never had and will have an intention in my mind that there will be a deadline for me to stop loving you. I just leave it on to my heart that still prefers you as long as I'm living."
Hanni blushed and was touched at your statement. You hugged her again, and she is now feeling your affection in a whole different direction now after your confession to her.
"I know it's sudden and not actually the perfect time for me to do it, but ofcourse I'll give you some time to think about it while you heal your heart." You whispered to her as you caressed her back. "My heart always hurts when you can't let him go because I had this doubt in me that you always deserve better than what he give. I always wanted it to be me, Hanni... but I don't have the control in your life. I'll just be as happy as what you are."
And again, you were the only one who could make Hanni smile in this dreadful day of hers. Her emotions doesn't feel like it weighs her down anymore, because with your presence; everything just helps for her.
It makes her feel amused, complete, and lastly... to be loved uncomparably.
In order to take Hanni home early so she could recover from her increasing health and wait for her sickness to totally subside, you excused yourself from the girls. The girls appreciated their compassion, said you farewell, and advised you to drive safely.
1 WEEK LATER
You were playing the tone of your newly written song in your guitar at the music room of your campus until you officially stopped doing it as you submitted yourself to your bored mood.
Placing down your guitar beside you on the couch, you slumped down and lazily looked around the house thinking of other ways to spend your free time.
An option popped into your mind and you were just hoping that she's also available for today.
You picked up your phone. Your fingertip was about to press down the power button but then your screen lit up, showing the call profile of Hanni, much to your surprise.
Coincidence? You think not.
Smirking at how amazing it was, you answer the call with a large grin in your face.
"Hmmm hey, Hanni how are you?"
"Doing fine but I'm bored right now." She said weakly. It was evident to her voice, but you chuckled again as how the mindset of you both were unknowingly similar. "Really? Because I am too, honestly." You replied. "I was just playing my guitar here and it doesn't please me still."
"Well I'm here building a puzzle and it doesn't help. So I just picked up my phone-"
"Yeah, I did too after-
"I think about you."
Both of you were stunned that you two said the same thing together. You blushed at smiled, with Hanni also reacting as you.
"You know, I find it pretty impressive that both of us were like sharing the same mindset these days."
Hanni laughed at your comment. "Yeah you're right. Well everything has a reason, right? We just have to give it some sense, so maybe... I guess we're just really that specially related."
You nodded, beaming a smile as you agreed at her opinion. "I guess we are."
Both became silent as you let the moment sink in to yourselves, having to hear the voices that belongs to the one that is being held dearly by each other's hearts again which was easily effective to uplift your spirits and lighten up together's moods.
"You're free today?"
"I am. Why?"
"Perfect. What do you say? We can go wherever you like." You smirked at your suggestion. "Just say the words and I'm down, Hanni. "
Hanni didn't think twice about it, it was already a great idea to be with you and she wouldn't hesitate to just let it across. "Well, all I need is you on my side so we can go whenever you like too, YN."
You were glad at her answer. "Just tell me now where are you and what's your ETA so that I could prepare while I wait for you, YN."
It was like every time when you were about to spend your time with her, she tests you how fast you are on preparing yourself to meet up with her...
... and this day might be your fastest so far.
---------------------------
You and Hanni were waiting for your orders to be served inside a fine restaurant you two have decided to try around the mall.
While you are watching the movie that is being showed in the TV screen, Hanni distracted you not only by her question but also with her actions.
She rolled up the sleeve in your arm to see your bandaged wrist. "This took me since earlier when we rode your car, what happened to this?"
"N-nothing." You shook your head and gently pulled it away, hiding it back on your sleeve. "Just got into a little accident, wounded in result."
Hanni nodded and patted your hand. "Try to be careful next time, okay? It's good that you applied it first aid already."
You flinched with a teasing smirk. "Ofcourse, I am. I'm a grown up now, mom."
Hanni bonked your head and pouted sulkily. "OUCH! Okay, I'm sorry!"
"No, that won't do." She swayed her head, rejecting your apology.
"Then what should I need to do, huh?"
"Buy me an ice cream." she requested with puppy eyes as she said it with anticipation.
"Pft. Basic." You scoffed, taking out your wallet from the pocket. "Deal accepted."
"No, I'm not done yet."
You slumped your shoulders as you stared at her ridiculously. "What do you want too, missy?"
She tapped her cheek repeatedly as she presented it to you. You were flustered, trying to deny if she's actually requesting the same thing you're thinking.
"I'm waiting, YN... or we're gonna go home very quickly after we eat~"
You can describe any synonym of "terrified" after she said that, prompting you to land your first kiss in her cheek, as there's going to be no way you two would ruin this day just because you chose stubborn and dense at her hint.
"That was as good as I expected." Hanni winked at you before she returned her focus back at her phone, leaving you sheepishly grinning and blushing intensely on your seat.
As your ordered dishes finally arrived in your table, she lead the prayer before both of you started to feat on each other's foods.
You were gonna pick up the fork until you had a glance on your wounded wrist again, and you recalled the question Hanni gave to you according with that... in which you didn't gave her a proper answer.
She must not know. It's for the better, you thought. You had to lure her away from the darkest secret you just made for the rest of your life.
From what you actually did behind the wound that was left within you as a cost of your unforgivable action.
You'll try to keep it with you as long as it requires to be, but if there's a time she learned about it; you already are willing to take all the responsibility to face her with it.
You ate with Hanni and gave her the same delighted yet forced reaction to the delicious taste of each other's food...
...while the guilt of killing her ex-boyfriend three days after Hanni broke up with her by running the car straight towards at him when he was alone walking in the street. You were stalking him for days, searching for a perfect opportunity to do the favor instead for Hanni on what she almost attempted.
You brought his body in your car's trunk and threw secretly on the cliff to dispose him off. That's where you also noticed the wound in your wrist left by him possibly from the struggle he tried to do to fight you back as you were about to leave from the place. All of it lingers in your head while Hanni is just enjoying her meal in front of you, no clue that her current love interest has just sacrificed him/herself to seek for blood in revenge for the guy who broke her heart and made her miserable.

Operation: Cure MC's Sadness.
-------------------------
Fandom: Ikemen Vampire
Genre: Hurt Comfort
Words: 1,503
Chapter: Prologue
A/N: I greatly apologize for possibly making the guys OOC, it’s a been a while since I wrote a fanfic (let alone a series) and not to mention my first ever fic for Ikevamp. Sooo… Scheduling for the other fics? I’m still figuring it out given that it took me a while to even finish this up, but I’ll make sure to post teasers here and there. I’m also still figuring out how to bring in Vlad and his minions in as well as connect Sebby & Will into this. If you got any suggestions for any the guys (except for Vincent and Theo, they’re the ones that made me want to do this and first one I came up with) don’t be afraid to suggest them in my ask box, reblog, and comments!
taglist: @natimiles @bicayaya @koco-coko
------------------------------
The poking from the beams had sobered up MC who wasn't sure if they actually slept or not, the eyes cloudy and slightly dry as they could barely make out the ceiling and orange sunlight stabbing them in one side. While a grunt escaped from their lips as their hands rubbed off the blurry dryness while they tried to recall last night, their body slumped over as they took a moment to admire the decor of the bedroom, especially with the painting they had the privilege to choose all thanks to a certain devil art-dealer. MC’s mouth couldn't stop themselves from curling up with fondness before falling as last night came rushing back to them. While they threw their blankets and legs over the side to get up, the urge to zone out and actually process everything finally took over, not surprising since a situation like this is quite... The story one can say. Once upon a month, MC was enjoying her time at the Louvre before being thrown into some kind of Alice in Wonderland plot with time, historical figures and vampires. What a YA fantasy-historical novel! Now this main character is… Stuck with no way back.
"Righttt... Homesickness. It's only been like... Two weeks since the damn door broke?" They whispered to themselves as they tried their best to read the clock; a skill that they still haven't mastered even a month in this mansion, tragic honestly. A hushed curse escaped from their mouth as they could guess roughly that they had 15 minutes or less to hop in and help Sebstain with breakfast. This only leads to more Cursing from the struggling dork who’s playing detective right now over socks. Yes, over socks.
“You still haven’t broken that habit of yours, have you?” A chuckle from the butler as he broke the bloke’s case with a swift point of his finger to the clue; socks had been under the bed the whole time. This left the victim of messiness and forgetfulness to facepalm in shame once again.
“Oh god damn it. Thanks, Sebastian.” MC shook their head as they quickly snatched the socks and threw them on along with their high-quality shoes whilst Sebastian stood still at the door. A quick glance could tell the man before them was more concerned than the usual exasperation; they could feel the guilt sink in as the butler sighed.
“As much as I wanna don’t wanna push you to talk, MC, I think now is the time you open up. Especially because it’s clearly affecting your sleep and work.” The man spoke with seriousness and softness as he signaled to follow him towards the inevitable; a mansion meeting.
“Never thought I’d have an intervention…” MC joked as they followed aside the butler shaking his head at them, the fingers squeezing the bridge of his nose.
“You wouldn't have one if you didn't try to pull the workaholic route for solving your problems...”
“Ah, Fair point.”
------------------------------------
“And here I thought Theo was bad…”
“Oh shut it, Arthur. You're one to talk here.”
Theo shot a glare at his typical flippant frenemy as Arthur's attempt to soft the atmosphere slightly failed. MC's mind was fried at this point so even bickering didn't help nor rubbing their temples and guilt away.
“Was that really bad? God…” MC knew it was a rhetorical question especially with the sympathetic and annoyed looks at the table.
“I don't know what your definition of “bad” is, but typically, bumping into paintings, eye-bags, and breaking plates more than you usually do is quite bad, Hondje " Theodorus leaned back in his chair as his blues scolded the “family dog”.
“Not to mention forgetting food and leaving cups of coffee behind,” Mozart added as he took a bite of his breakfast, paying no mind to the soft glares from Napoleon, Issac, and Vincent.
Arthur shifted closer in his chair as his hands intertwined on the table; a sigh escaped from his lips.
“They are starting to get the point, lads. It's about time to start getting to the heart of the matter now.” Arthur gave a soft chuckle, the seriousness never leaving his eyes as he continued. “So, do you think you can explain why exactly that's causing this? Or is this workaholic habit the whole reason you haven't talked about it at all?” He arched his brow at them as he noticed MC immediately trying to puzzle it.
“I think the answer is quite obvious, but hey…” A voice hunches over Arthur, making the man jump and almost flings his coffee across the room.
“OH JESUS,MARY, AND JOSEPH. USE THE BLOODY DAMN DOOR DAZAI.” Arthur cursed at the tardy man before him who just closed the window behind the mystery writer, his glare never leaving him as Leonardo with the help of Jean drags Dazai and throws him into a chair.
A smile never leaves the eccentric, in fact, it only widens when looked at MC’s reaction. Not even the patriarch's glare seems to wipe it off him.
MC was trying to hold back their laughter at the scene before immediately stopping when eyes were all on them, a sense of anxiety in the pit of their stomach as they spoke.
“Well, yeah… It's pretty obvious for the perceptive folks here. I'm just gonna assume you want more details from me, right Arthur?” They looked at Arthur for confirmation, which earned a quick nod from him as he checked if his good old suit survived.
“Well…” They paused for a moment to gather their thoughts and ease the tightness of their throat. “I'm starting to think it finally dawned on me that I can’t go home yet… And the fact I never really fully processed everything. I kinda just threw myself into the chores. I mean it helps! Only to the point though… I think? Ugh…”
A comforting hand from Vincent laid on MC’s shoulder, noticing they were shaking at little. While MC smiled at him, they looked back to see everyone contemplating how to solve the issue now they got the reason for.
Comte took a moment to look at the clock before letting out a sigh.
“Well, one thing is certain, you need to take a break.” Comte paused for a moment before smiling. “Make that a week-long break.”
MC arched a brow at him before she felt a poke on the head by Napoleon, they looked up to see his smirk.
“Yes, MC, it's fine! You really need to work on that workaholic habit, I swear.”
A small croak, or well more like a tiny squeak, interrupted the moment. Issac was trying to say something and it ended up… An awkward way to make himself known.
“Ahem…” The physicist paused for a moment while trying to fight off his embarrassment. If MC wasn't giving Dazai and Arthur death glares, Issac would’ve been eaten alive… Well, for now.
“I was wondering what MC wants to do on their break… I mean, not sure if I can do much, but I'm free if you need someone to hangout with or… Vent too.” Issac lightly scratches the curve of his cheek with a sheepish smile.
“Not really sure either… But I'm all ears if you want to do something…” Jean chimed in with an earnest look in his eye despite how deadpanned his voice sounded.
Leo clicked his tongue as he thought of what he could do. “I mean, I’m sure if I have the time right now. Given Comte and I had an appointment with-”
“I mean, MC can accompany us with that invitation we got from my good old friend I haven’t seen in a while-.”
“Hold it guys. You're all getting ahead of yourselves there.” MC chuckles as they pop the last croissant in their mouth.
“I’m assuming that at least most of you are gonna… I don't know. Try and ease me by making me chill and hangout with you all?”
“Call this operation: Cure MC’s sadness” Dazai wiggled his eyebrows as his grin widened at the eye rolls he got from some of the folks at the table.
“Well, first of all it's not most of us…” Mozart huffed a little. “And second of all, it's nothing grand to try to help someone.” He side-eyed a pouty Dazai.
“Hmm… How about this? We all have a set week to make time for MC during their break.” Sebastian proposed to everyone as he picked up dishes to clean.
MC put a hand to their chin as they thought about it.
“I don't mind the idea, but how about each of you are duos!”
“What do you mean?” Vincent asked as he tilted his head to the side a little whilst everyone was either just as curious or slightly skeptical.
“Well, two of you each hangout with me on different days”. MC looked around to see everyone’s reactions before landing on Sebastian.
“Of course, I wish we could hangout too, but-”
“We’ll figure it out, don't you worry, MC.” Sebastian said before leaving towards the kitchen.

ok whats febatista's whole deal from froggsmp. please tell me abt ur guy
oh good you will regret this
- febatista appears on froggsmp summoned by the priest there. he calls himself fé (fe batista. febatista. get it lol?)
- hes thrown into the middle of this HUGE drama bc he was brought in to deal with this new person named abbadon (who fe knows from his time in heaven- hes an angel btw did i mention that. fe and abbadon are both angels)
- well tldr abbadon is a character named ‘scott’ who was a demon on the server but, for some reason, reverted back to who he was BEFORE he fell from heaven
- fe and scott actually were besties and had the kind of codependent homoerotic relationship you’d expect from two angels one of which fell from grace to become a demon
- also fe used to ignore god and the angels to go see scott in hell thats not useful info but it matters so much to me that you know that
- scott, now abbadon, has NO memory of fe or the son he’s left behind, aries (fehdubs, the person who did voice acting for richarlyson’s signs in like early qsmp if you remember those)
- aries and fe grow close since theyre both dealing with the trauma of seeing someone they know not remember them and revert back to his old self that fe KNOWS he hates
- aries accidentally calls fe ‘pai’ a lot during this time and fe always responds back with ‘filhou’ and its adorable i love it i love them so muchcfh
- fe and abbadon are verrryyy. stilted. they talk about the weirdness of emotions a lot and how weird humans are and fe and him find scotts old diaries TALKING about fe and falling from heaven
- cue like the saddest shit ever scott talks about how fe was perfect and he could never live up to him but he still LOVED him so much and he hated that he loved him. and how betrayed he felt when fe didnt stand beside him when he fell
- it goes into awful detail about feeling so incredibly distant from fe because they never talk about how they feel and keep dancing around the subject and how love is a HUMAN concept and for angels it exists as a devotional act alone and fe dIDNT PROTECT HIM AND IT FUCKING GGHRR FES JUST CRYING THR WHOLE DAMN TIME HES READING THESE BOOKS TO THE MAN WHO WROTE THEM WHO DOESNT FEMEMBER HIM GGHHRR
- anyway. eventually his memories come back right and fe and aries and scott chat and they end up in front of god and fe does the famous “lord forgive me but im choosing him this time” which fucking breaks my heart dude
- scott was like under some influence and it was shit and daddy issues but christian yknow and then he remembers everything! and the family is reunited!!!!! fe and aries and scott are together!
- theres a lot of Other plot points going on but they dont focus on fe rly but theres a clown guy and theyre being a cute family and then righttt before arkanis, fe leaves notes for scott and aries saying that he needs to go (and fe calls scott his everything. which ow. and then he calls himself aries’ guardian angel- DOUBLE OUCH)
- and then somehow when he gets to arkanis he’s forgotten that hes an angel hes forgotten aries AND hes forgotten scott.
- and now apparently! someone saying theyre his SON !! came to arkanis a week before fe did. which is suspicious and Maybe is aries ? who knows
- and then scott just read fes note and then kind of burned down his house and said hes not going to do this again which could mean anything.
TL;DR—
fe is an angel from heaven who had a husband/boyfriend/something with a demon named scott that he knew as an angel and he had a son named aries and hes forgotten them both and its killing me

Perfection Imperfections | Chapter 1
Chapter Index
»»—————————————-
Finally, summer break. It’s been a while since I was able to go home. Having to attend high school rather far from my home in Seoul, I never thought that I’d adjust to the new environment. Fortunately, I wasn’t entirely alone, since I stayed with my aunt for the four years of my high school life. School wasn’t so bad, but the homesickness is what killed it for me. Even though it was my parents' idea to send me a rather vast distance—me not being too excited about it, but I knew I wouldn’t get my way in the end—there was some good that came from it. The two only good things, actually.
I glance outside the train window, the buildings of Busan zooming past me. Sure, it may not be my home, but I won’t lie. I’m really going to miss this place. My phone suddenly vibrates in my lap, glancing down to see a text from my group chat, smiling as I respond.
(Binnie)

I snort, turning off my phone and placing it back down on my lap as I go back to staring outside my left-hand window again. Meet Cha Eunwoo and Moon Bin, my two best friends. The only reason I got through high school how I did without major setbacks. Sure, there was the occasional homesickness and all, but had I not met these two, I probably wouldn’t have even attended and graduated.
Being so far away from the place I grew up never really suited me, and they saw it right away from day one how lonely and upset I looked. I didn't seem to fit in, especially since I skipped a grade and was placed in classes that were very advanced for me. Not that I minded the vigor, but it was hard for me to socialize, let alone make friends.
That’s when I met them. Freshman year in homeroom before my first literature class. Moon Bin, a boy with parted, coppery-golden hair accompanied by his shy, puppy-eye smile and sweet nature, offered me an empty seat next to him in class, even going as far as to share his textbook and asking how I found the school. No doubt, I was embarrassed and immensely shy, stuttering over my words and failing to meet his soft gaze. However, he didn’t make fun of me nor find me odd. All he did was smile, laughing lightly at my slightly flustered state. He stuck his hand out, introducing himself (most people just call him Moonbin or Bin) with that smile of his, thus the start of our new friendship. Since then, he became someone who always knew how to cheer me up when I was feeling down. No moment was ever dull with him by my side.
Eunwoo, the tall, brooding black-haired and charismatic student almost everyone knew (and crushed on) of, was usually with Moonbin when we hung out together, but he normally kept to himself. Though quiet and sometimes reserved with his intimidating looks, it didn’t take long for him to break the ice with us, the three of us becoming close friends. Promising to stay like this until we went to college and beyond. Regardless if we all diverge and tread different paths, we would always converge and come back to one another.
Four years flew by and graduation was upon us. Just like that, the two became like family to me, my ride-or-die duo. The two who were able to turn my world upside down, finding solace in a time where I thought it was nearly impossible for me to.
My thoughts are interrupted by my “Move” ringtone—yes, I’m a huge Lee Taemin fan—looking down at my phone again to see it’s my brother calling. I sigh, picking up the call.
“What?”
He gasps dramatically. “Is that any way to address your loving older brother after being away for so long?”
I snort, shaking my head. “Loving my ass, oppa. How are mom and dad?”
“They’re fine, living. Didn’t you tell them you’re coming home?”
“Nope, I don’t even text them that often. You already know this..”
He sighs. “Yeah, I figured.”
There’s a slight pause on his end, but he continues. “You took the three-thirty train, right? So you’ll be here around five or so?”
“Yeah, give or take.”
I look out the window again to see the endless stretch of greenery and flowing springs, sometimes even children playing in the fields. I grin mischievously, deciding to poke fun at my brother when he doesn’t respond right away.
“What, you miss me?”
He makes a sound similar to throwing up. “As if. I got so used to the peace and quiet. I’m not ready for it to go away.”
“Yah!” I realize that I had yelled a bit too loudly and eyes were now trained on me, and I bow my head in apology. I lower my voice, “You’re such an asshole.”
“Oh, I know, but you still love me anyway.”
“Shut up.”
I can hear his laugh resonate through the phone and a smile unknowingly tugs at my lips. I wouldn’t say it out loud, but it’s true. When I lived with my aunt in Busan for the duration of high school, I missed Jaehyun a lot. Though two years older than me, he didn’t seem to alienate me the way my parents do. While I hate the notion that they spoil Jaehyun endlessly and let him do as he wishes, I won’t lie and say that he was a prick about it. He could’ve been, but he never came off as selfish. I’m really close with my brother, shocking as it may be. Sibling relationships are like that—one minute you want to strangle them with their intestines and the next you’re singing duets together. Crazy, but that’s how it is for us. My parents don’t really pay me any attention, so Jaehyun decides to do that instead. Not complaining though. I’d rather take his pranking and teasing over my parents’ demands and reprimands any day.
Aight, I’m heading out for a bit. Text me when you arrive.”
I smile again. “Will do, but make sure to get me food!”
“Let me think…” He hums, and I can practically sense the smirk on his end. “Nope. Get your own.”
“Oppa!”
Jaehyun laughs. “See you in a bit, Hyuna. Get here safely. Bye!”
He hangs up the call before I get a chance to retort, and I scoff. Typical of my brother. He knows how much I enjoy street food, and every time he goes out, it’s almost certain that most of the time he stops somewhere to eat. Did he ever bring food back? Sure, but by the time I’d get to it, most of it was gone anyways. That only lasted a little while before I had gone upstate anyways, so he had more food for himself, I guess.
As the train barrels down the tracks, I feel my heart racing in excitement, but there’s also a slight ounce of dread. I really don’t know why. I want to believe it’s because I’ve been away for too long, but part of me knows it’s the fact that I’ll have to face my parents again. Knowing that I only have two months to decide where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do, I know the bitter truth is that those decisions won’t be left up to me. Last time, I was sent to Busan.
God knows where I’d be sent to now.
***
“Final destination of the KTX Busan-Seoul train at Seoul Station is approaching and will arrive at 05:30 PM. The doors to alight are on the right hand side. All passengers are requested to dismount the train upon arrival. Thank you.”
That’s my stop.
Gathering my bag and hand luggage, I patiently wait for the train to pull up at the station. Seeing the familiar shops and buildings around me makes my legs bounce up and down in both excitement and anticipation.
Four long years away from Seoul...
Before getting off, I quickly text the group chat and then my brother, letting them all know that I’ve reached safely. Side-stepping the other passengers exiting the subway doors, I carefully land onto the platform with my luggage in tow. I breathe in the air around as I stretch my arms up into the sky, the grin widening on my face.
It sure as hell feels good to be back home.
I try my best to maneuver through the crowds, but it doesn’t stop the rush of people knocking into me. At times like these, I curse my genetics for favoring my older brother instead of me in terms of height. Eventually, I come to a clearing and when my eyes glance upwards, I spot a rather familiar dark brown-haired six-foot-tall male amongst the small crowd waving me over.
“Hyuna, over here!”
I gasp, my eyes widening. “Oppa!”
He smiles as I begin walking towards him, my feet hurriedly moving across the concrete. The distance between us shortens and I abandon my luggage as he opens his arms wide.
Only for me to sucker punch him in the stomach.
He yelps in pain, grimacing as he holds his abdomen. “Shit, that hurt. What has Aunt Sua been feeding you up there? Rocks?”
I smack his shoulder, my blood slightly boiling in anger. “Yah, why didn’t you tell me you were coming?! Do you know how much money I blew off for the bus fare?”
He straightens his back before going to rub his shoulder, then behind his neck.
“Fine, fine. My bad. I wanted to surprise you, but I guess that didn’t work, did it?”
I cross my arms over my chest, huffing in annoyance. He sighs, nodding.
“Okay, okay, I’ll compensate you. Dinner’s on me.”
At this I grin, blinking excitedly. I grab onto his arm and shake it vigorously. “Really? You mean it? You’re the best, oppa!”
“Look at this brat..” he taunts, shaking his head. In a flash, he headlocks me and rubs the top of my head harshly with his knuckles, upsetting the neatly-tied auburn ponytail.
“Yah! Quit it!” I smack his arms and flail in protest, but he chuckles, saying this is what I get for cunningly finding a way to exploit him the minute I stepped back into Seoul.
What can I say? It’s a talent.
He lets go eventually, and I try to smooth down my already-tangled hair. I grumble incoherently but Jaehyun pulls me into his embrace, wrapping his arms around me. His free hand gently pats the side of my head in comfort.
“Welcome home, sis.”
I stand there stiff for a second before hugging back. He squeezes me tighter and I find myself smiling into his shoulder.
“Good to be back,” I whisper.
We stand like that for a moment before he pats my back a couple of times, us pulling away from each other soon after. He reaches behind me to grab my hand luggage as he shoulders my bag. I tell him that I can carry them just fine, but he starts walking away from the platform to the parking lot. I call out after him as I run to catch up, and I can see the corners of his mouth twitch. Jaehyun leads me to his car, a sleek matte-silver convertible Mustang. My mouth drops open in shock at its stunning beauty, my body forcing itself to remain composed for the sake of avoiding public self-embarrassment.
He throws my luggage in the back seat before he turns to me, smirking at my expression. “You like it?”
“Shit, do I like it? I love it!” I run my fingers over its metallic surface, the silver exterior gleaming in the evening glow. Grinning, I stare up at my brother who catches my gaze as I stand next to the driver’s seat, my fingers already curled on the handle.
“Can I—”
“No.”
“Please—”
“Nope.”
I pout as I pull my hand away and step to the side. Jaehyun chuckles, rubbing my head playfully before getting into the driver’s seat and starting the car. The engine purrs to life as my brother pulls out his shades and wears them. He looks at me and cocks his head to the passenger seat.
“Don’t just stand there. Get in.”
Smiling, I quickly make my way over to the other side and slip into the passenger seat. I barely have time to buckle in before Jaehyun speeds off. I scream in fright, but he laughs heartily, telling me to let loose.
With the wind harshly whipping around us, I close my eyes and tilt my head upwards, absorbing the remnants of my childhood in a place I’ll always call home. A place where my heart always feels at ease.
My name is Jung Hyuna. I’m eighteen years old, and this is my story.

Kassa's words are very wonderful!
Only from these words on the homepage, Kassa conveyed her serious outlook, I reallyyy want to support her! thats how I feel
I was surprised like Eh!?!?!?
that was honestly my first impression but,
Her strong feelings, drowned out my surprise, and now I think she's cool!
She's joined for 5 years since she was 12, and now coming to this decision at 17...
For Kassa, with her gap between her age and appearance, I'm surprised no matter how many times I hear it, since she is really a beautiful older sister <3
I wonder what kind of Kassa will be born as she goes overseas,
I'll forward to it, as I want to support her
Graduating, of course, is lonely but,
Certainly with this loneliness as well, it can also save us, as I think Angerme has a bottomless shine
I also like it! I want to watch over them--
But more than myself, I want to support Kassa much more, For those that wnat to watch over her,
As its so soon with this,
Alright! I get it! Lets support her! you may not be able to, right
But Kassa has the image of, being able to wrap up such people and make it power for herself
With our time within the year,
Without giving into anything,

the heart is deceiving pt 4
BLOO
genre: angst, fluff, smut
word count: 1.7k
coming back to this fic after monthsss made me realize how shit and cringe it is and oh my god, you all deserve much better writing. yuck. HOWEVER, i will keep posting it until it's finished ( since id already written the whole thing ) because i do kind of like the ending sooo
pls stay w me cause im working on a sik k friends to lovers au and i know it's gonna be way better than whatever the hell this is...
clubbing really takes a toll on you, physically and mentally. i didn't even drink but i managed to have a headache by the night. i stumbled through the crowd, approaching the counter and slumping down in the seat. the bartender asked if i needed anything and i only ordered some water. she left to get it.
my phone buzzed with a text from my dad, saying he might not be home tonight because of work. "oooh, that's exciting," said daniel, glancing at the text and sliding into the seat next to mine. he asked the bartender for something that sounded pretty intense and i gulped down my water.
"live a little," daniel urged, offering me the dark liquid but i shook my head. "ugh, you're so annoying and uptight." i rolled my eyes.
"thanks. that's sweet."
"kiss me."
"no."
"why?" daniel asked, pouting.
"cause you're drunk as fuck and i hate the taste," i told him, trying to walk away but daniel grabbed my hand, turning me around. i pulled my arm away from him with a frown. "will you stop following me around like a lost puppy?"
"i get worried when you're not with me."
"yeah, i know," i said, reaching for my phone and showing it him. "you probably can't read but you know what says? 17 missed calls and 51 unread messages..." daniel grinned sheepishly but i wasn't finding it funny. "i was right next to you, daniel... i get that's it kinda dark in here but there's no way you could have missed me."
daniel stuck out his bottom lip. "i just didn't want you to get lost, that's all. there's lots of creepy dudes here, they'll pick up anything with boobs." i groaned.
"stop. this isn't funny, it's an obsession and i don't like it."
i tried to leave again and again daniel tried to pull me back but this time jojo got in between us, noticing the tension. "what the hell is going on here?" she asked, her voice trembling like she had just finished crying. i looked at her. her eyeliner was slightly smudged which gave me the answer right away.
"she won't let me love her," daniel whined.
"you only love me when you're drunk," i murmured and then jojo convinced daniel to go away for little while which he finally complied. the two of us sat on the curb outside the club, just on the sidewalk where we could still here the muffled sound of the music inside.
"what's wrong?" i asked her. she's usually the one comforting me and giving advice, so it was strange to be switching roles.
"boys are so complicated," she answered, blowing a puff of smoke into the dark of the night. "were you the one who gave my number to jinyoung?"
i nodded. "i'm sorry if i wasn't supposed to... i thought he was cute and you're cute and things could maybe..."
"it's not that," said jojo, taking a swig of the bottle she was holding. "did you know he loves me? he told me that."
"i just assumed..." i shrugged. jojo buried her face in her hands and i furrowed my brows. "jojo... you don't have to cry about it. you can choose the man you like... it doesn't have to be either."
she sniffed, looking up and wiping her tears. "i know... i just feel so bad. i just like to fuck around and stuff but what if i'm actually catching feelings? nick called me babe.... what's it like to be in a relationship?"
i chuckled. "it's not all that... trust me, i feel like i'm not even in a proper one." we both laughed a little and the air felt lighter. "what are you going to do?"
jojo shrugged. "what i always do... nothing. besides i'm receiving clout from hanging out with these rappers so," she laughed and the smell of cigarettes just filled my nostrils. "why do i have to be so hot that boys are just tripping over themselves for me?" we talked for a little bit about how boys suck but also about which ones we'd smash because they can be fine sometimes too.
"it's fun when you're around," jojo told me with a smile. "daniel really bought out the wild side of you." i nodded and jojo leaned over, pressing her chapped lips against mine for a fleeting second before pulling away.
"heyyyy, is it too late for a show?" daniel chuckled, walking over to us. "oh come on, keep going, don't mind me."
"you're disgusting," jojo said, shaking her head and shoving him as he tried to put his arm around both of our shoulders.
"i gotta go home anyway," i informed the both of them. "my head hurts and we got school... i haven't finished homework yet."
"good luck with that," said jojo, brushing off her jeans and walking back into the club after ruffling me and daniel's hair.
daniel rested his head on my shoulder. "i can drop you home." i sighed.
"you're too drunk to drive."
"we can test our limits."
i ended up driving myself home in daniel's car while he blasted music and sang the lyrics out loud. then, i let him inside my house even though i told myself i wouldn't when we first got into the car. it was my foolish self who held his hand all the way to my bedroom and lied in bed with him until we let our bodies do the talking and our sounds created music in the silence of the night. i slept knowing he was right beside me, his arms wrapped around my waist, his bare chest slowly rising and falling to the rhythm of his beating heart. he was safe and i was safe and we were each other's for the night.
***
"honey, are you decent, can i come in?" dad's knocking the door woke me up with a start. i quickly sat upright and shook daniel awake who just groaned.
"um yeah, one second." i pushed him off the bed and his eyes shot open, about to complain but i hushed him, ushering him to get under the mattress which he obeyed. "come in!"
dad opened the door and i tried not to look nervous at all. "sorry i wasn't here last night." i didn't reply cause it was usual. "but i made breakfast for you and i wanted to tell you to have a good sunday before i leave to run some errands."
i smiled. that was the first time he'd said something like that. "okay daddy, i love you."
"i love you too baby."
when dad finally left, i let daniel come out of hiding. he clutched his head and i had to get him some tylenol and water before i let him eat breakfast with me. "did something happen last night?" he asked, eagerly digging into the pancakes. "cause you never allow me in your room and i just woke up in your bed."
i shrugged with a sly smile. "oops?"
"well, whatever it was, i'm sure it was good."
"do you not remember anything?"
daniel shook his head. "nope." good, i thought, breathing out a sigh of relief. i was a major bitch to him last night - understandably. but i hoped it was something of the past that wouldn't ruin anything.
"i wish i could stay with you but i have to go to the studio today," daniel informed me while putting his clothes on. "jinyoung's like... totally diligent and he may be my friend but he's also my manager so."
i giggled. "yeah, i get it." i handed him a water bottle to drink on the way back and he kissed my lips very gently. "i'll miss you."
"you can see me tonight. there's another party, i can pick you up."
"no, i have homework to do today."
"righttt, you're still in school." daniel chuckled, pulling his shoes on. "sexy schoolgirl." i rolled my eyes and kissed him once again at the doorway. i lowkey didn't want him to leave because i spent most of my weekend with him already and didn't want to be alone again.
"i'll visit you tonight... at your window."
i was glad he left me with those words because it gave me something to look forward to tonight. i didn't go out at all that day. jojo came over and we did our homework together and we never usually did something like that but i enjoyed it.
she showed me her texts with jinyoung which we squealed over because i never realized how smoking hot he was until then. besides, he was good at flirting, just like daniel.
when jojo left after eating dinner (which was thai takeout), i felt that loneliness again. no one was home but me so i decided to watch tv and maybe study for my next exam. life is quite boring like this but at least daniel would visit me tonight after the party.
i waited and waited and waited. he didn't show up. i called him a bunch of times but he didn't pick up. obviously he was partying too hard but i just wished he hadn't promised me something if he couldn't pull through.
i sighed and lied in bed, still waiting. but he didn't come so i ended up falling asleep.
about 3am in the morning, my phone buzzed beside me. i groggily answered it. if the caller had been anyone other than daniel i wouldn't have. "hello?"
"babe?"
"hmm?"
i heard daniel breathe out on the other end. "sorry for leaving you hanging..."
"it's okay," i murmured, too sleepy to say anything else or to guilt trip him. "i guess you drank too much at the party."
there was a pause. "no... i actually didn't go to the party."
"seriously?" i giggled sleepily. "that's hard to believe."
"yeahhh... i didn't feel up to it," daniel chuckled quietly on the other end. i felt my mind wander but then it was bought back. "i wanna sing my song to you."
"go ahead," i whispered, holding the phone close to my face as i closed my eyes. the song started with something like "you're my downtown baby" and i couldn't remember the rest. i was too focused on how soothing his voice sounded over the phone while he sang.
after a couple minutes. "baby... are you still awake?"
"mhm," i replied. it felt like my mind was asleep but daniel's voice could keep me up all night long.
"i'm moving back to korea."

s2 here we gooooo
yeahhhh ok so i'm cheating and saving dark era episodes for the end cuz apparently still not ready to relive That :)))))
meanwhile: why are all the americans like this (i mean we know why)...ofc lovecraft is a walking eldritch horror....blah blah blah i dont really caaaaare for most of these new characters tho or the v v shonen throwdowns....and that child with the fucking terrifying doll should not be allowed to exist
ah dazai flexing his torture skills......[michael bluth voice] i dont know what i expected
ANGO???? ANGO!!!!! welp r.i.p. ango....jk i know he's not dead yet......i've seen the deadeyed airbag gifset.....
atsushi goin stealin girls' hearts left and righttt???
after spending > 90% of their budget on dark era, bones seems to rly prioritize backlighting dazai with sunset hues. we get it; he's your number one boy!!!
i probably need a separate post for the sudoku episode bc so many layers of !!!!!!!!!! but cbb so here we go
cant believe we have finally reached the Reveal Drama i was waiting for even tho it lasted......0.5 seconds
knkd: why are you setting up a meeting with the port mafia???
dz: goshhhh try to keep up
knkd: [blue screen of death]
(as an aside: gimme 500 fics of the fallout of this???? maybe they already exist......i mean walking in here 5 yrs late with starbucks should have some perks right???)
of course mori is fukuzawa's shitty ex.....i should have called this.....how did i not call this??? "you still talk to cats dont you" !!!!!!!
part of me wants to know all about the fucked up dz & mori history but i also......will probably live to regret it. "do u still wear the coat i gave u" "no i burned it :)))" lmao @ mori still being emo over dz defecting (meanwhile, me, hissing: MAYBE??? YOU SHOULD'VE THOUGHT TWICE??? ABOUT GETTING THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE MURDERED???)
apparently i'm taking a lot better to bsd!sarumi than i had expected. like they're dumb and regress to being bratty children together and that's v entertaining??? tiny angry hat man gets angrier and nearly destroys himself in the process of ending the eldritch horror meanwhile ex-partner eats popcorn and swoops in at the last minute to prevent him from dying? beautiful. dz being Soft and Nostalgic for 0.2 seconds as tiny angry hat man collapses was also good shit
maybe one day i'll fully figure out/talk about my feelings re: dz and how as an individual character, i'm p much shrug emoji about him most of the time (which is a lot of progress since initial impressions) but in relation to other characters and the sides of him they bring out? this is probably what fascinates me most yes even shitty murderdad....dz basically reads like a (v dead inside) shapeshifting chameleon in front of a funhouse mirror but when you hold up the prism and angle it right and shine a specific interactional light through, something glints bright and i go all eyes emoji. lets pretend that maybe one those sleep-deprived metaphors made sense
#i cant tell if mobile got rid of the read more feature wtf but maybe when im on desktop again#i think next ep is finally the mysterious edgar allen poe!!!!!!! whom for the longest time i thought was the same as ranpo.....#mirai watches bsd#to continue to distract herself from adulting anxiety......now i just need procrastinatory sushi and we'll be set........

Trouble me Sweetheart
(MC/”Lia” x Jen)
*Bit of (MC/Mackenzie) for angst
This is my first time writing in a while, so apologies for any errors! Also, I may alter some events. Since I’m sort of writing this without much planning, I probably won’t be trying to write this from beginning to the end.
There are also some direct quotes from the game so I do it justice.
It’s definitely not because I’ve forgotten some of the canon challenges/character names.
*(Slight?) angst ahead*
***POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING***
I’m also writing this with the most recent chapter of AME in mind soooo spoilers if you haven’t played Chapter 12 yet. Read at your own discretion!
-----------------------
“I’m in so much trouble..”
This thought ran through Jen’s mind for what felt like the hundredth time. She clutched her clipboard and paced back and forth in the surveillance room, biting her lower lip as she gazed at the many screens capturing almost every inch of the AME mansion. Of course Jen knew that she had to keep watch on all the monitors, but her eyes kept falling to the one that showed glimpses of Lia.
Lia.. Jen’s mind was set into a panic from the very first day she met the former audience member. The moment Lia swept her up into a passionate kiss, she knew she was a goner. Jen convinced herself that it was for the sake of making her incredulous boss, Piper, allow this stranger onto her show. That’s what she had to believe, she just had to.
This unassuming young woman turned her world upside down from the chaotic mess it had been when Whitney, her former contestant, was kicked from the AME set. Lia was the underdog of America’s Most Eligible, the “Girl Next Door” that was to be booted off the show within the first week. She was to be crushed under Piper’s thumb and swept under the rug, but Lia had earned her place among the AME cast and perhaps a forbidden world.
--------------
Lia was getting ready for yet another challenge, changing in front of a full length mirror. Her hands were fastening a necklace around her neck when her mind started wandering, her right hand falling to her side while she gently grazed the necklace with her left.
“Another challenge, another week the other contestants jab at me for cheating..” Lia muttered quietly. She took the silver necklace between her fingers and started absentmindedly tugging at it, sighing in frustration as she flopped back onto her bed. "Despite Lina being voted out, that rumor is still..haunting me. She said her source came from another contestant. So someone else in this house is out to get me..?”
Lia had meant for her questions to be rhetorical, but after a few beats of silence she was startled when Mackenzie spoke from the walk-in closet she forgot existed, “Whoever it is clearly wants America to think you’re some sort of tramp and quite frankly, it’s very stupid on their part.” Mackenzie stepped out of the closet and zipped up the back of her dress, walking over to the dresser to brush her hair. Eyes narrowed and seemingly lost in thought, she shook her head almost imperceptibly and spoke in a quiet but sure tone, “You aren’t that type of person, Lia. Anyone with half a brain can see that you’re a total sweetheart and a bit of a dork. You’re way too real for these fake people and that scares them.” Mackenzie smiled and turned to Lia, who had sat up, nudging her shoulder.
Lia grinned and returned the playful nudge, standing up to re-braid her hair when her grin faded. “It’s like I’m even more on edge than before now. Lina gave me a really nasty look when I walked into the room with Jen the night of elimination. Now I can’t even talk to Jen without someone watching me like a predator, waiting to strike when I’m the weakest!” Lia stopped her braiding halfway through and frowned.
“So you’re saying people think you’re sleeping with Jen?” Mackenzie asked as she finished putting on earrings.
“I think so and it really bothers me. It really sucks that I’m being accused of sleeping my way up to the finale, but it’s even worse that Jen is being dragged into this! I’ve heard people talk, Mackenzie. They’re trying to discredit Jen and her work as a producer.” Lia could feel the sting of tears coming, but she furiously blinked them away, turning to Mackenzie with a woeful gaze.
Mackenzie's expression softened as she walked over to rub Lia's back. "I get it, I really do. This is just a shit show with drama that people love to eat up. People look after and sit on their own asses while reveling in other’s misery.”
Lia chuckled at the refreshing bluntness of Mackenzie’s words. She finished braiding her hair, posture strong and proud. “I’ve seen how hard Jen works. She’s working her ass off. Hell, she was confident that I’d be something great after I kissed my way onto the show.”
“Wait, you did what now?”
“I uh...kissed..Jen?”
Mackenzie's eyebrow raised, her eyes locked with Lia’s, waiting for an explanation. Lia felt a rush of panic and started fumbling over her words, “I mean before the show started, I saw her run after the former ‘Girl Next Door’ and I was trying to help! Piper had kicked the girl out and asked who I was. I may have claimed I was the replacement for her show but she didn’t believe me sooooo....I kind of kissed Jen right then and there to prove myself?” Lia smiled sheepishly at Mackenzie, fidgeting with the side of her dress.
“Righttt...” Mackenzie said, drawing out her response with unveiled suspicion. “So you got a thing for her?”
Lia’s eyes widened as she hurriedly made her way to the door, “Mack, we should get going! We have to get this photo shoot challenge done. I’ll see you out there!” She practically tripped on her way out, huffing in embarrassment before Mackenzie rolled her eyes.
“That’s all the info I need. I think you definitely got something..” whispering under her breath, Mackenzie smirked before following Lia out the room.
--------------
Commotion echoed throughout the mansion as cast and crew members were getting ready for the photo shoot. Lia made her way to hair and makeup, stopping quite abruptly when a well dressed man stepped in front of her.
“You! You must be my muse. Your jaw structure and everything about you is what I am looking for! Will you be my muse? You must say yes!” the mysterious stranger said, invading Lia’s personal space quite quickly.
Lia stared at the man bewildered for a moment before looking to Jen, “W-what’s going on? Who are you?” Her gaze switching between Jen and the man frequently.
Jen couldn’t help but chuckle before motioning to the man in front of her, “This is legendary fashion designer Lancelin St. Claire. He’s running the Challenge for today.”
“Oh..Well I’m honored! I’d love to be your muse!” Lia smiled brightly, looking briefly at Lancelin before looking to Jen with an even bigger smile.
Bianca, who had been getting her hair done, stood up and laughed, “Honestly Lia, I’d pick you as my muse. Wouldn’t you, Jen?”
Jen smiled, subtly looking up and down Lia, “In a heartbeat.” Her eyes met Lia’s and she felt her face heat up, instantly lost in warm brown eyes that seemed to be silently smiling at her. Jen blushed before clearing her throat, looking down at her clipboard at some imaginary notes in attempt to avoid the gaze that felt like it was burning into her.
The fashion designer clasped his hands together and started ushering Lia out of the room, “Come with me, I have the perfect piece for my perfect muse.”
Lia hurried after Lancelin with Jen and Bianca in tow, entering another dressing room. Fatima, responsible for the glitz and glamour of the contestants, smirked knowingly. “I think you’ll all love what Lancelin has put together. It’s quite something.”
Excited and brimming with anticipation, Lia slipped on the outfit Lancelin created. Stepping out in a beautiful white dress, Lia felt her cheeks redden slightly when all eyes fell to her. Murmurs and exclamations of her beauty filled the room, stopping when her eyes fell to Jen.
“Wow..Lia you’re so...” Jen didn’t realize she was staring far longer than what was appropriate before Fatima stepped in with a nudge and chuckle.
“I think the word Jen’s looking for is ‘stunning’.”
Jen sheepishly smiled and rubbed the back of her neck, looking down to hide her slightly pink face. Confident that her face would not betray her, she looked back up (albeit) slowly. As quickly as her blush had come, Jen’s eyes flitted up Lia’s exposed tan legs, stopping at the intricate lace top before looking up to a grinning face.
With a teasing grin and matching tone, Lia raised a brow and spoke, “Is there something on my face..” she continued, “..or my dress?” At this point, Lia was smiling coyly at Jen, catching onto the producer’s very subtle oogling.
“Nope, nothing at all.” Jen plastered on her most professional face and motioned towards the door, speaking as calmly as she could, “We have to get the photo shoot started. You know where you want to take your picture, right?” After an affirming nod from Lia, she leads everyone to their respective places, watching over everyone’s pictures (especially Lia’s) with a sharp eye.
--------------
After successfully woo-ing Lancelin St. Claire with her photos, Lia relaxed on the roof while Ivy was getting her pictures taken. Lost in the beautiful view of Miami, Lia closed her eyes as a breeze blew through her hair, failing to notice her producer sidling up beside her. Jen took a moment to appreciate this moment: the beautiful backdrop of Miami and these very confusing but warm feelings that had started to blossom for Lia.
“So..” Jen started, “I have an idea. You could suggest to Lancelin that you want to do a couple’s shoot. It’d be good exposure for you and give you the opportunity to stage a romantic moment with a certain someone.” I wish it was me though..
Smiling, Lia opened her eyes and turned her body towards Jen slightly, “Yea? That sounds like a great idea!” After a moment of thinking, Lia nodded and straightened herself before getting ready to leave. “I know just the person I want to pose with.”
Jen watched as Lia animatedly suggested the couple’s photo shoot to Lancelin, seeing them both look to Mackenzie whilst working out the details. Once they had worked everything out, they all made their way to the beach. Jen had lingered in the back to work out some details, but her eyes always caught Lia and Mackenzie’s hands drifting dangerously close. They would occasionally look to each other and laugh like they were the only two in the world.
Jen’s heart sank just a tiny bit every time she saw these moments, but it sank even more when she saw the photo shoot happen. Lia had pulled Mackenzie in close, their bodies fitting together almost too well while they both held an intense gaze. There was no denying that those two had chemistry and plenty of it.Their fingers intertwined and continued to hold while Lancelin was marveling at the transparent feelings and chemistry he was able to capture through the lens.
Jen's eyes were glued to the scene that unfolded. Lia and Mackenzie’s face were drawing in closer and closer before their lips connected, finding purchase in each other’s. Their kiss seemed sweet and gentle, but riddled with a hint of passion as Lia carefully dipped Mackenzie to deepen it. Everything after that became a blur. The only thing that Jen was able to capture was jealousy and, boy, she knew she had it bad with no way out.
--------------
Everything happened so fast. One moment Lia was feeling confident about her photo shoot results, the next she was being eliminated and driven to the Jury House. This had completely blindsided her. I thought I was doing well! I thought people liked me..
Lia was deep in thought when she felt a tap on her knee. She looked up to see Bianca’s face full of confusion and sympathy, speaking in a steady voice, “Hey..you doing alright Lia? What’s on your mind?"
Lia couldn’t help but shake her head and sigh, “I just don’t get it. I thought we both did well. I thought I was a shoe-in to win but Ivy won!” Her hands rested at her sides on the leather seats, fingers pressing into it slightly. “I just..I just didn’t think I’d leave so soon, you know?”
“I don’t think either of us was expecting this, Lia.” Bianca said a bit harshly before easing her tone with an exasperated sigh, “I know I wasn’t really the easiest to get along with, but I know people liked you! That’s why I’m convinced something else is going on.”
Lia let out a deflated chuckle and tilted her head back, letting it rest against the seat while she closed her eyes. Her mind drifted to the Elimination Ceremony and the faces of her shocked friends. Mackenzie, Adam, Derek, Ivy...Jen. As soon as she thought of Jen, all Lia could see was her former producer’s sad eyes. They hadn’t even been able to say goodbye before she was ushered out by Omar to do her Confessional. One last look over her shoulder was all she got. A look that could have said a thousand words, but the only ones she could say was I’m sorry to the first person that believed in her.
After the limo pulled up to the Jury House, Lia and Bianca stepped out with trepidation. With moments that felt like years passing by, the duo finally strode towards the house to meet the contestants they had voted out. It was going to be a very long few weeks in this place she had to call home for now.
--------------
Arguing, fights, and silence was what Lia expected when she stepped foot into the Jury House, but she was surprised when tensions seemed to calm down the next few days after her and the other contestants bonded together over a bonfire, music, and s’mores. But the more surprising twist was that Carson and Piper had come with news that they had a chance to come back into the competition. This renewed the fire in everyone, but Lia most of all. This would give her the chance to prove herself.
The ride back to the AME mansion was almost torture. Lina and Han would bicker occasionally while Teagan interjected about her chakras being obstructed. Lia couldn’t help but bounce her knee in anticipation and anxiety, biting her lower lip as she thought of what the Comeback Challenge would be. This would be her big chance to say that she was a force to be reckoned with and she wasn’t using any cheap tricks to get to the top. She wanted to clear her name and Jen’s.
Once the limo brought them back to the mansion, Lia walked with determination in her stride. She saw many familiar faces who were obviously surprised to see them back so soon. One of them being Mackenzie, who Lia could comfortably say was her close friend. After shock, a smile graced Mackenzie’s face that said a million words per minute. She gave Lia a thumbs up and a look that said it all.
You got this.
Lia couldn’t help but smile at their interaction, looking back down to search for a familiar face that was oddly missing. After stepping inside and being greeted by the ever-so-”friendly” Ivy and the other contestants, they were told not to interact with the returning cast by the very person Lia was searching for.
“Hey Bianca,” Lia whispered, “Could you cover for me? There’s someone I want to speak to.”
Bianca looked to Lia then Omar, who had been barking orders, “I got your back, go get her.” She smiled and began to rant to Omar about a fake pair of shoes she forgot to bring.
With one quick glance to Jen, Lia motioned to the kitchen which was acknowledged by an imperceptible nod. On the outside, Lia seemed to have it all together, but inside she was an absolute mess. She couldn't help but fidget with her braid, thinking of all the things she did and didn't want to say. All the questions she had started with why. Why had she been eliminated? Why was she being accused of cheating? Why was Jen the one person she wanted to talk to the most? Her movements were rigid and her body was tense, every step feeling heavier and heavier. It could have been the adrenaline of possibly returning or the excitement of seeing familiar faces again, but nothing could stop Lia from stopping in her tracks when she finally came up to Jen, who stood alone in the middle of the empty kitchen.
Their eyes locked, Jen frowned a bit before she was the first to speak, "Lia, what did you need? You aren't supposed to be here." As much as Jen hated scolding Lia the first moment they see each other again, she felt like she had to. She didn't want Lia to ruin any possible chance at returning to the competition, not with Piper around.
"I..." Lia stopped for a moment before closing her eyes to take a deep breath. "I wanted to speak to you Jen." When she opened her eyes again, there was no more uncertainty or dread, only melancholy.
Observing Lia for a brief moment, Jen sighed and placed her clipboard on the counter, speaking cautiously as she looked back, "We can't have you getting into any trouble. Not when you're so close to coming back. All we have are the rules right now. And it's so important that you follow them, now more than ever." Jen attempted to say in a stern tone, but it fell short.
Lia smiled wrly before leaning back against a nearby wall, taking a moment to collect her thoughts before she spoke softly. "You know..I've gotten so used to having you around, I was totally lost at the Jury House." She joked in an attempt to lighten the mood. Lia looked down at her feet, trying to hide any sort of pink that may have colored her cheeks.
Jen's heart swelled full of happiness, yet she still smiled sadly. She leaned against the counter and clasped her hands in front of her, "I know the feeling. This place hasn't been the same without you." She decided to take a leap of faith. "For the record, it's really great to see you, Lia. I...I missed you." The last few words left Jen's lip in almost a whisper.
Lia looked up at Jen with the most gleeful grin, "I missed you too, Jen. That's one of the reasons I'm so glad to be back." Her and Jen gazed into each other eyes, as if searching for something. Seconds passed, every single one feeling like it charged the room with tension and electricity. Lia looked into Jen's eyes when something clicked right into place, like finding the last piece of the puzzle. But before either of them knew it, they realized they were staring at each other and blushing more than they should have been.
Clearing her throat, Jen stands up straight and looks away, fumbling for her clipboard that was suddenly too difficult to grab a hold of. Nerves getting the better of her, she spoke with trepidation, "We should, uh, we should get back out there."
"Do you have any advice for me?" Lia asked as she stood up from her relaxed position against the wall.
Jen glanced at Lia and smiled, "How about I do you one better. What would make you feel more confident about the Challenge?" She looked to Lia with utmost sincerity, wanting to do all she could (within reason) to help Lia win the challenge.
Lia pursed her lips in thought before grinning, "Well..I could definitely use a good luck kiss." Her heart was beating faster than normal and she blamed the beautiful woman in front of her. The past few days/weeks, things were falling into place but she hadn’t been able to put her finger it. She had many contestants pulling her around during the show and Mackenzie was always throwing flirtatious jabs at her, but she always found the most comfort talking to Jen. She was earnest and willing to work her ass off. Most of all, she saw potential in her that no one wanted to acknowledge.
Jen's eyes widened and she went deep into thought. Her brain was running a mile a minute, but that didn't stop her from asking the first question that popped into her head, "What about Mackenzie?"
"What about her?" Lia looked at Jen with confusion, unsure of what Mackenzie had anything to do with this situation.
Jen could feel nerves creeping on her again. She looks right into Lia's eyes, "You two seem to be in love. I won't tell anyone else, I promise. I've just seen how you two are with each other..and the day of the photo shoot, you two really seemed to enjoy that kiss in the couple's shoot."
Lia blinked a few times before Jen's words clicked. "Oh...well," Lia ran her fingers through her hair before letting out a sigh, "I wanted to kind of..protect you and myself." She looked to Jen and continued when it was obvious that an explanation was needed, "Ever since Lina accused me of sleeping with the crew to secure my spot in the finale, I've heard people..talk. Not just about me, they've talked about you too. People kept saying crap like how you don't take your job seriously or how you're just doing it for the kicks."
Lia slightly gripped her hair in frustration before letting her hand fall to her side, speaking in a steady but unhappy tone, " I didn't like that people were accusing you. I can sort of understand and deal with the accusations that come my way, but you don't deserve that. I've seen how hard you've been working. As for the whole thing with me and Mackenzie...I asked her to help me stage a romance between her and I so it would hopefully take some of the heat off you. I didn't want to cause more trouble for you." Lia grasped her upper arm and covered her chest, seemingly closing herself off.
Jen stood there with a pensive look, thinking on everything she just heard. Processing this took much longer than she anticipated. She debated on what to do when her eyes finally met Lia's again. Those warm brown eyes looking at her with uncertainty and unspoken affection. Copper-colored hair partially covering the unusually bashful eyes that seemed to await a response from the producer. She could sense Lia's apprehension with the way she worried her lip, looking away occasionally as her teeth dug ever so slightly into her bottom lip.
Jen let out a huff of air and threw caution to the wind. Walking up to Lia, she gently grabbed her hands and slowly entwined her fingers between Lia's. Feeling a curious gaze, Jen closed her eyes and leaned in slowly, pressing her lips against the pair she had yearned for ever since the first day they met. She simply stood there and relished everything she was feeling: the sensation of Lia's lips against hers and the surprised hand squeeze Lia did while pressing into her body. She slowly moved her lips with Lia’s, kissing her ever so gently. Jen’s body felt like it was on fire, feeling a rush of excitement course through her as she felt Lia reciprocate the kiss. She couldn’t help but giggle when she felt Lia smile against her lips. Satisfied with the response, Jen pulled away with a slight blush.
“How do you feel? Better?” The producer asked, looking at Lia with renewed confidence.
Lia laughed quietly and immediately wrapped her arms around Jen, turning her around to lean her up against the wall, “Extremely lucky, thanks to you.” She took a moment to look into the brunette’s eyes, searching for something. An answer, maybe, but a question left rambling lips, “W..what is this?” Motioning to the space (or lack thereof) between them. “I know I have the show to win. I know I’d be deemed ineligible if anyone knew. I-I don’t want to cause any more trouble than I already have. But I think I’m --”
Before Lia could finish, a single finger was pressed against her lips. Jen looked at her and ran her free hand along a soft braid, “Que Sera, Sera. Lia..whatever will be, will be. You do your damn best out there. Win that challenge and win the show. Even if you don’t, it’s not the end. We’ll have to wait until after the show is over but..” She removed her finger from soft lips and replaced it with her own, kissing Lia deeper than before. Her body moved on its own and pulled Lia in impossibly close, her chest rising and falling rapidly from the adrenaline she was feeling. Despite the loud protests of her heart, she forced herself to pull away just enough to whisper into Lia’s ear.
“Trouble me all you want Sweetheart, because I’m in love with you too.”

Gonna take some liberties with bold surveys and elaborate on the ones I feel like talking about, regardless if it’s true or false; and I’ll leave blank the ones I don’t feel like touching on. You're nineteen and a vegetarian. I am three years older and eat meat almost everyday. You've been a vegetarian for over a year. You don't like John Lennon. It’s not that I don’t like him; I just don’t have an opinion on him. Of course what happened to him is very unfortunate. You are studying Mandarin Chinese. No thanks. You have blue eyes and white hair. Wrong. Dark brown and black, respectively.
People often mistaken you for sixteen or under. A few people would but I get mistaken for 17 or 18 most often. Either way everyone’s always shocked when they find out how old I actually am.
You enjoy reading and mathematics. I like reading. Mathematics not so much. You wish your family was healthier mentally. There are definitely underlying issues in there that most of them do not recognize or bother to do something about, which I find tragic because it just means that it gets passed on to future generations. Your favorite flavour of tea is mint. I mean it’s not that it’s not my favorite. I don’t like tea, period. I do enjoy other mint-flavored stuff though, like chocolate.
You listen to foreign music. Yes. I listen to American music. You watch the anime Naruto Shippuden. Other than Pokemon, I’ve never enjoyed anime. You prefer routine to your day. Yep. I like spontaneity to an extent, but when it comes down to it I find the most comfort in routine. I liked my everyday routine of getting up for school, driving, attending my classes, hanging out at Skywalk, and driving home, as monotonous as it would sound for others. It’s just more comfortable for me when things are predictable. You've never attended a concert. I’m not a big concert-goer but I’ve attended my share. I usually only go for the big acts because they’re the ones most likely to visit the country only once every few years. That being said, I’ve seen Paramore (twice), One Direction, and Coldplay. And it’s not a concert, but I also went to a WWE house show once. You're Chinese. As far as I know, no. But the history of Chinese people in our country is very extensive and I wouldn’t be surprised if I turned out to have like at least 0.6% Chinese ancestry. Your favorite sport is basketball. I tried getting into it at one point because basketball got really popular when I was in high school, but I’ve never understood the rules and as such I only watch games that my university’s team play in. Your favorite basketball team is the Lakers. When I was like, five. My dad bought an NBA game for the PS2 and the Lakers were the strongest team on that game, so solely based on that they became my favorite for a while. You basically want to marry Kobe Bryant. :( I had never felt this way, but it’s sad to come across this question now. You have a Samsung S4. Nope. I’ve never owned a Samsung phone. You hate English quite a lot. My grades in English were always good, but I just didn’t like what the class would take up. I never enjoyed analyzing literary works and cracking hidden meanings and symbolism and interpreting what characters do and say – so even though I’m able to do so, it doesn’t mean I enjoy the subject. You like playing card games. Whenever someone whips out a deck of cards at a party, 9 out of 10 times I’d stand up and move to another crowd. You think people who play League of Legends is stupid. I’m vaguely familiar with that but one thing I won’t do is shame people for what they like to do or play. You are often jealous of anything trying to take something away from you. I wouldn’t say it’s often. The feeling just pops out every now and then, and I wouldn’t describe myself as being jealous all the time. Your parents are scientists. (We are turning out to be nothing alike, my dude.) No, they are both in the hotel and restaurant industry. I secretly feel really bad because their industry is the one being hit the most during this pandemic. I’d love to tell them my concerns just so I can get it out of my system, but we’ve always been secretive with one another. You are really good at physics. I hated physics in high school, but my physics prof in college was very smart, a lot of fun, and made physics easier for me. Ended up getting a 1.00 in his class. You prefer noodles over rice. I love noodles, but no :( I never feel full from noodles and always need rice for me to feel like a meal is complete. You want to own a BMW when you're older. It would be a nice bonus, but I don’t really plan on being picky or too flashy with my cars. You were in choir in high school. I cannot sing. You like spicy food. LOVE them. I don’t have as high of a tolerance as say Koreans or Indians, but I still do like pouring chili oil or hot sauce on my dishes whenever it’s appropriate. You're short compared to your friends. I’m not dramatically short but I am the shortest out of everyone in each of my friend groups. You really like Hello Kitty and try to own a lot of it. Never liked it. I personally never saw the hype or found it adorable, but I do find it cute and fascinating when I encounter people who collect Sanrio things :) Your father is slowly dying. No, he’s in tip top shape fortunately. He plays basketball everyday and will go bike around the neighborhood sometimes. Your mother is studying in a university. She went to college in a university, but she’s not currently taking up a postgrad degree if that’s what you mean. You have a crush on someone who is younger than you. I mean, I guess. Even if she’s only a month and a half younger. You like to eat apples a lot. No fruits for me. I like certain apple-flavored things though, like juice. You've had braces and they were recently taken out. I did have braces but they were taken out around six years ago. You recently decided to have bangs for your hair. Yep and like only seven people got to see it when it was in its best form because the stupid lockdown happened righttt after. I feel like my time with bangs is definitely up but I’m not getting rid of them until I feel that enough people have seen them lmao. You eat rice at least every other day. Yeah but that’s pushing it. I have it everyday. I need it with every meal unless I was having pasta or something. You live in a huge house. It’s not huge; it’s simple and cozy, large enough for five people. You have multiple strangers living in your house with you. Nope, I live with my family. You got a large amount of Halloween candy last year. I haven’t gone trick or treating in a whiiiiile, but I did have lots of alcohol at my last Halloween hahaha. You are really good at badminton. I’m not really good, but I can hold a racket and return the shuttlecock decently. I haven’t played since the 4th grade but I think I’d be better at it now given my experience with table tennis. You like to watch Asian reality shows. I looooove the Korean reality show Return of Superman. I watch at least one segment everyday even though I’ve seen most of them at least once. You have no siblings. I have two. You hate your name. I used to, because kids tend to be bullies. I kinda love it now. You are very aggressive. I’m more passive-aggressive but I do have my aggressive moments, usually when I’ve absolutely had enough. You overeat a lot and feel very guilty afterwards. I never feel guilty about it. Food makes me happy haha. You are used to being left out. Years and years of being an outcast in school has desensitized me to it. You hate missing the person you care for. I hate it in the sense that I always wish it were easier to be together, not because I’m not supposed to miss her. You are a slow learner. Only when it comes to kinesthetic or more hands-on learning, like how to do origami or crocheting. I can’t think of any one moment that I was able to catch up whenever those kinds of activities were being taught. You don't like your teeth. I hate my front teeth and I hate that I lost my retainers. I’ve said on many occasions that one of the first things I’ll spend on with my salary is to have braces reapplied on my teeth. You have dyed your hair orange before. I haven’t. Your friends think you have a great taste in music. Not really; my friends don’t look at me and think music recommendations. But it’s fine, I never claimed to have cool music taste anyway haha. You would chose food over love anyday. Probably, lol. You often swear too much. Either when I’m by myself or with a crowd that’s comfortable with swearing. You have an older sister. No, I’m the eldest sister. Your mother owns a beautiful car. My parents own beautiful cars. You are only nice to people you trust. I’m nice to everyone, just nicer to those I trust. You like mood rings. You obsess over Candy Crush. I get phases, honestly. Right now I’ve stopped playing. You have an iPad or iPad Mini. We have an iPad but it’s like the 1st- or 2nd-gen model so it’s sorely outdated. I haven’t used it since 2016. You prefer your hair in a ponytail more. Both because of the weather and because I get more compliments when my hair’s tied up in a ponytail
You have very noticable dimples. I get compliments on those, too. My left dimple is more noticeable though; I have to smile bigger if I want my right one to show up. You always use a cute voice with people. Only with my girlfriend, and I don’t use it often. You have a blue bicycle. Part of it is blue, yes.

the boy with saintly names
Here’s another unfinished, short story (God, I’m so fucking lazy), and I’ll hide this person’s identity with the name Mister. So creative, right? I know, thanks. Get ready for one of the biggest cringefests you’ve ever read.
Things didn’t work with this person because we didn’t have the same attitude and philosophy towards this relationship, and just, relationships in general. I think if a person were to know how things ended from his perspective, people would almost always assume that I was completely at fault. I wasn’t the best at expressing myself and I know that, but I had my reasons (that I know I should’ve been more clear about as well). I tried becoming more of what I wasn’t for this relationship, but I just couldn’t keep up. Nevertheless, any of his friends can come ask me for my side of the story. I am an honest person and those who really know me can attest to this. Well, I hope you’re happy and have found what’s truly for you, Mister.
So here goes nothing.
I took summer classes last year and got into the Nursing students' section for my English class. I met him there, but we never talked--well I never talked to anyone except when it was debate or roleplay time and I only knew one person in the class. At the time, he was really a no-one to me. He only catches my attention when he finally comes to class. He seemed like a class-clown type of person. Outgoing. The partyboy type. Sufficiently wealthy and drives either a Mobilio or a Santa Fe--whichever his father wasn't using for the day.
Summer classes went about for 2 months. Yes, nothing happened. Until a few weeks after summer classes concluded. I don't exactly remember why, but I followed a bunch of the Nursing students on Twitter and Instagram because my friend did the same albeit rather more aggressive. I was selective, and of course, it included him. Snapchat was also fairly popular in their class so I got in there too.
Side story:
This, I thought, would be a way to stalk my crush: a nursing guy whom I was having constant eye-contacts with since the day I saw him play basketball at the inter-college games. We eyeballed for a month, then I gave in. I messaged that guy when I was drunk. It was a fairly long confession and I asked if he liked me too, but I was left inboxed, then got blocked the next day. No biggie, I'd be freaked out too if someone whom I personally don't know drunk-messaged me. Anyway, this story is not about that guy. But I still kinda like him though. He's tall and very handsome (subjective, I know). Even the way he walks is handsome. His perfume smells yummy too. Yes, yummy. You know, that smell when you just want to push that person to bed and fuck your brains out. Okay, I'll stop. But seriously, I was intensely attracted to this guy. I wrote quite a lot of entries about him here. Even dreamt about him once. And fantasized the fuck out of him. I imagined we'd fuck everyday if we became an item. Okay, now I'll really stop.
Now back to the main story!
I posted a photo of Tim-Tams on my Instagram story and Mister replied, asking where I bought them. I answered him, and he said thank you. And that was it. It was obvious to me that he was making a move. Tim-Tams are everywhere, man.
A few weeks past, our student org was having an event at this place called Gather. It was a night of live music and social interaction (gross). After a few drinks and one or two fake laughs with some acquaintances, I then got a Snapchat notification. It was a snap of a french bulldog from Mister. I was kinda confused why he'd sent me that, but I replied anyway.
"Cute ng pug!!"
He responded with "Righttt? French bulldog siya actually."
I only had "Ay, hahaha okay!" to say back. Bobo eh, bilang lang ang alam kong breeds. Sorry. Little did I know, he sent that snap to everyone, and he was just trying to start a snapstreak with me. I didn't have to reply. I just had to send him a snap back. Bobo talaga.
He replied to one of my snaps a little later, saying that he knew one of the singers. Turned out to be his batchmate from highschool. He said he'll try to come to the event, but of course, as all "Try ko"s, he didn't come. Meh, didn't matter.
A few weeks of occasional online small talks later, we were finally going to meet up and talk personally. I told him that his singer highschool batchmate was going to have a gig at a place near the school, and that I was going with a friend. He said he'd be there too. And he actually came this time. He and a friend of his took a bit of time to talk to their other friends before coming to me and my friend's table but it was alright. We glanced at each other and said our hellos. That was it. I know, that's so stupid, but I don't know. I'm the worst at meeting new-ish(?) people. Basta. I continued chatting with my friend, and he continued to chat with his. It was a big table anyway. Soon enough, his friend suggested that they go to a bar in Aguirre after the gig. Me and my friend were invited and so we tagged along. *Insert alternating shots of crazy dancing and alcoholic shots here.* I got drunk as fuck but managed to prevent puking. My head felt like it was going to blow up.
I had to go home at around 1 AM and so did everybody else. So we did. Everyone went their own ways but I was offered to be accompanied home by Mister. So we hopped on to his Mobilio. My amats had reduced at this point. We were both just "semi-buzzed". He can hold his alcohol quite well though. He's a partyboy afterall.
He was talkative while driving and as an introvert, I liked that he always had something to say. I've always found it a challenge to start conversations, let alone keep them going.
"Ok ka lang ba mag-drive ng medyo lasing?" I said. "Oo naman, di naman ganon karami yung nainom ko. Medyo buzzed, but I'm fine." "Lakas naman! Hahaha." "May turks ako dito, you want?" "No thanks. Not fond of sweet shawarma eh, hahaha." Sorry not sorry, Turks fans. "Sarap kaya! Hahaha."
He had a lot of stories to tell and I only had a few, short ones. He couldn't stop talking. He shared that he usually has friends accompany him either at home or at his condo until he's 100% sober, and he'd just drop them off the next day. His tone sounded like he wanted me to do just that. If I was really attracted to him at that point, I probably would've agreed to go, but I wasn't yet so I said that I really had to go home soon, or else no one would open the door for me.
"Thank you Mister, nice to meet you haha. See you." "Okay, see you din!"
So I was home. I thanked him again on Messenger. I'm not sure if his reply was "Anytime!" or "No problem!". Whatever. Small talk commenced once he got home as well. We said our goodnights, and he sent me a selfie. I was kinda WTF, but it's fine. I turned off my lights, took a picture and sent that to him. LOL. I'm not one to send selfies, sorry. I know I'm ugly and I cringe at the sight of my unsightly face on the front camera. So, no.
Our conversations escalated from occasional, to every day.
Annabelle: Creation came out and we, along with 2 other Nursing friends, decided to watch it. And of course, as fate would have it, the other 2 couldn't make it. I forgot their reasons why.
It's a date then. So cliche.
It was raining and I was coming from a spontaneous mini celebration of my lola's birthday in Container Turf. I struggled hailing a tricycle through the rain, trying to make it in time for the movie. I got drizzled a bit, but the show a.k.a. the landi must go on. I needed this la niña on my 2-year el niño.
I ran to the cinemas. He was standing there, holding his popcorn. Waiting for me.
It was a good movie with a shitload of jumpscares. I'm not easily scared though, and so I flinched a grand total of 0 times. Strong ako eh. Joke. I like horror movies because I don't get scared. He was a different story though.
He'd cover his eyes at times. "Uy, sayang lang ticket mo hahaha." I'd laugh at him. Sometimes his mouth. I'd laugh again. Even grabbed my arm once. *Pfft. Moves.* There, I flinched.

The Plot Thus Far, Narrated In Character
It’s been a while since i posted here and i figured HEY, it’s munday! Might as well do a little plot refresher to get things rolling again! Continue past the read more to get a look at the plot! Characters will tell you what they know, and only what they know/revealed. This goes righttt up to where the anon magic starts, as I’m not gonna update with that one until I’ve finished it (months long anon magic rip me).
For links to specific plot posts, click here! Thanks for reading, and let me know any theories you have!
Min
These days, people call me “Min.” I’m the great deity of my home island, Astera Isles- a tropical island with no winters or falls! I’m worshiped by my followers- Leafeon, and I work soooo hard to make sure my island stays lush and safe!
The island wasn’t always this beautiful, though... Once upon a time it was a wasteland- but that was then and this is now, you know? It’s not all that clear, so I mean-
Right! You’re probably wondering why I can be in my “sky” form, day or night! That’s because I’m a deity, and being a deity means you don’t have to turn into a hamster! Pretty great, right?
More about my followers! There’s Elder, who is a dear friend of mine- but he’s not my “elder”, you know? We’ve known each other so long, I can’t even remember how I met him! There’s also his daughter, “Emini” and her two friends, “Odelia” and “Gwyneth”! They’re all great kids!
“Emini” is a weird name? Yeah! Odelia thought of that one! Her real name is “Emi” but it would’ve been confusing having two “Emi”s, right?
The other “Emi” is older than “Emini,” so it makes sense! He’s my personal student but... well I guess you could say he’s a very reluctant learner.
... if the average taciturn character has “a chip on their shoulder”, well... Emi is a sphere! From all the chipping???
We don’t always get along, I guess. But anyway.
I’m trying to teach him and the kids how to respect nature! What else would you expect from a life spirit like me? We’ve... uh. Well, we’ve been working on it. The kids are alright, but Emi isn’t really... apt? Apt, sure.
He’s... uh, a late bloomer.
But enough about him! More about me!
I’m about 5000 years old. Sounds pretty old, huh? Heh. It’s not though. Actually, I’m pretty young for a deity! You wanna see ancient? Look at my Mom.
Oooh, I shouldn’t have said that. But it’s fine. My Mom is Mother Nature more or less. Really, not all that important- she’s not really the kind of mom that makes you cookies... orr.... exists on this plane of existence?
Anyway. Wait, where are you going?? Did I talk too much again?
-
Emi
What? You want to know about the island?
I guess if you want an objective view, I’m the best one to ask.
Astera Isles is protected by the deity- I guess you would call him “Min.” All of his followers are Leafeon- Eevee do not exist here. Instead, you are born as a Leafeon- a small one, I guess.
Most of the inhabitants here have never even heard of an “Eevee.” Most of the inhabitants have never even left this island, even if they wanted to.
I have a chip on my shoulder? I do. I’ve always been difficult to work with. Even when I was a child. You can even see in in my... my family pictures. That was a while ago, though- I haven’t lived with them for a long time.
I’m shiny, yeah. It’s nothing special. Just random chance.
Back to my disagreeable attitude. The deity is annoying. You’d be constantly annoyed if you had to deal with him every single day for pointless lessons. I’d rather go looking for garbage.
More about him? Nah. He’s boring. Let’s talk about his followers instead.
This time around, there’s three kids- Odelia, Gwyneth and... Emi. Everyone calls her “Emini” so they don’t get confused between us.
Yeah, we have the same name. It’s a placeholder name. I don’t really answer to my name as is, so it doesn’t really bother me. Why would it? It’s just a name.
Anyway. They’re currently learning under the Deity in preparation for the Tree Bonding- that being a coming of age ceremony of sorts. I’d explain more but I don’t really feel like it. As them- they’ll be happy to tell you.
-
Emini, Gwyneth and Odelia
HERE I AM!! ODELIA!
Stop yelling! Geeze!
I’m Odelia! My Mom is a baker and my dad eats a lot! I also like eating a lot! This is Gwyneth! His mom is an artist- no THE artist! And over here is Emini! Her dad is Elder...!
Um-
Emi is usually around, too! But I guess he’s busy right now? We’re the only kids on the island, though!
It gets pretty boring only having two other kids to play with, but...
... policy is policy...?
What’s that? You wanted to know about the Tree Bonding? Or just Trees?
Do you think I get to pick what kind of apple Tree I bond with? Because I don’t want to get stuck with Granny Smith apples!!!
You should be happy with whatever you get, Odelia... Trees are... more important than anything.
I mean, that’s what we’re in school for! So it better be important.
Emi doesn’t really care about them, though.
-
Emini
Why do you think people outside the island talk like a leader would step down or... stop being a leader?
I can’t imagine my father would stop being Elder... he’s always been Elder. He’s proud of what he does- very proud. He’ll always be the Elder.
-
Gwyneth
... Emi acts like he doesn’t care about Deity and all the stuff we do in Deity’s name. He’s really proud about it, too.
He knows all the songs of Deity by heart. Isn’t that kind of weird for someone who... just doesn’t care...?
... maybe being Wilted is too much to care about anything. Even things you loved.
-
Emi
What’s being Wilted, and why am I?
“Terminal” is the most apt word for what it is. But it’s more than that.
Why be worried about something you can’t fix, anyway?
