Bakugo Isn't Dead

I've thought about how the story might end if Bakugo is Bakugone but after 363, I'm positive he's alive and kicking thanks to a sweet little jeart from BJ (jk can't BJ control natural fibers so muscle by extension?). He might need a little defib action but I'm not counting him out of the fight completely. We've seen Mirko break her prostheses and have more shot put out to her while on the battlefield. I think that demonstrated that nothing's that far out of the realm of possibility, medically.

Bakugo is the Only Person Deku Told the Final Quirk To

Stage has been set thanks to Denki Kaminari. Much of the story is told from Deku's POV so we don't really get a comprehensive understanding of Bakugo's character (I talk about this here) except from his actions which seem extremely violent and abrasive. Cue neutral character Aizawa who clarifies Bakugo's character at the sports fest and during the press conference after Bakugo was kidnapped. Denki is another character who's provided critical exposition into Bakugo's character previously during the provisional licensing exam and apparently during the showdown with AFO!Shigaraki. Make no mistake, Bakugo seems hotheaded and foolhardy but he's shown countless time his combat sense and ability to strategize is top tier. With life and death on the line, I can't imagine such a catastrophic misstep fresh out the gate. If we've already seen Deku try to manifest the final quirk and it's not something we'll see in a cut scene later, I think it was either:

during the first Shiggy match where we were led to believe it was danger sense as a red herring and was demonstrably debilitating to Deku at the time

or it's the scene below which has the potential to cause more physical damage in a fight

#2 Has a Blast Quirk

PEEP THE HARDWARE 👇🏾. Homeboy didn't storm the castle with a gun, that is a support item to complement a long-range blast quirk. Not unlike Bakugo's grenade launchers. I think this would also tie into the story seamlessly since Deku's been watching and reappropriating Bakugo's moves this whole time even without a comparable quirk. It's like the stage has been set his entire life. Bakugo will be big mad.

Yoichi Isn't a Vestige

Or More Plausible Deku's Feelings Manifests an OFA Bakugo

I just feel like the language here is so very specific to suggest that quirks and vestiges ain't the only thing OFA is packing. #2 and #3 didn't materialize for sometime within OFA. Suppose there's something else being kept behind locked doors? We've already seen Bakugo talking to vestige!All Might, is that the afterlife or within OFA? Due to my first theory, I'm assuming the latter. If Bakugo has died, we know that vestiges only have corporeal appearances after dying (All Might is alive and has an ethereal form). Also, while the picture's below are decidedly ambiguous with respect to OFA (see captions for clarification), suppose this whole time Yoichi is the will of #2 and the other vestiges. Not a vestige himself.

First. This is the visual to signify vestiges, right? Are there seven vestiges because Yoichi isn't one or because All Might isn't dead?

Given the above, the stars around Bakugo are decidedly giving vestige.

Offshoot Theory, Yoichi or #2 Has a Living Body

If Yoichi isn't contained within OFA, does he maybe also have a living body like AFO? OR, conversely and in the pic below, is #2 the one with the choice to live within OFA or not? I kind of wonder whether the room Yoichi was trapped in wasn't a physical room or rather a mental thing but I haven't fleshed out how that would play out.

#2/Bakugo is a Time Traveler

If #2 has a blaster quirk, what are the odds he's actually Bakugo (LOOK AT THEM LEGS) from another point in time or timeline? One where he never reconciled with Deku and Deku became just as twisted and evil as Shigaraki. He broke down that door and reached out a hand, head hung low knowing he's taking the long way round for redemption. Is his choosing to be there because of the above offshoot or because he's finally come around to believe Deku could really take on AFO.

The Culmination of the Fight Will Result in Deku Being Quirkless Again

What if the story of how he became a great hero is actually his one and done adventure to bring down AFO and liberate Tenko? We've seen OFA explode out of Deku but what if unifying OFA is the nuclear option? Suppose this final fight ends with its destruction having finally bested AFO and served its intended purpose. With no further need, it dispels. Deku, whose name has been erased from the annals of history, reminisces upon his great adventure fondly. For those that knew him, he served as a reminder that anyone can be a hero.

LOV has maybe 4 deleter rounds left, what's AFO got planned and why could we see his face last chapter? I doubt he used one on himself.

We've already seen there are more AFO moles laying in wait at UA but what about more hero students and pro's? Have we seen the extent of them because more than a few have been sus.

Was the blood Dabi gave Toga truly Twice's? Pretty nasty trick if not but Dabi's character isn't exactly sentimental about doing something shitty. It'd be decisively in the LOV's favor if it is Twice's blood which is in line with Dabi's desire but still? Will Ochako be able to stop her from wanting to use it?

Yo today I did a THING. So I basically always eat my lunch outside this coffee shop near my office and I’ve gotten (and posted pics of) their cold brew many times and it is GOOD but I’ve never gotten anything else. Anyway after I ate my lunch today I was like hmm I could go for an afternoon cookie and latte and then I looked around and was like WHO SAID THAT???? (I kid, I kid) Anyway I mustered up my courage and decided to order an oat milk latte cause I keep hearing all this hype about them and I figured I would judge the cookie situation once I got in there Chatted with the barista to find the cookies are vegan (lit!) and the flavors today were peanut butter or almond butter with cranberries and pumpkin seed (also lit!) and she said they were really good which is probably her job to say but still So I got myself a latte and ab/cran/pumpkin seed cookie While waiting for her to make the latte I saw the oat milk containers on a shelf and made the rookie mistake of peeping the nutrtion facts which immediately had my brain shouting yikes! yikes! yikes! And then I honestly wasn’t blown away by the taste of it given how much oat milk lattes have been built up so of course my first instinct was “ok if you don’t love it you don’t have to have it” which is true but also I was still feeling a little hungry after my lunch and I know my body needs the energy so I was like F that, you can use the cals (and caffeine) it’s fine Some things I’ve been realizing lately: 1. Lately I’ve been trying a lot of things that I haven’t had in a long time due to either ED reasons or being vegan for awhile or both and sometimes I eat one of those things and realize it really doesn’t taste/feel all that great to me but that’s OKAY because it’s still an opportunity to learn and say okay I didn’t really like that I’m not going to have it again because I genuinely wasn’t a fan rather than I can’t have that because it instills fear and anxiety in me OR I have something and realize it’s fricken GREAT and I’ll have it again 2. I’m still running considerably lower mileage than I plan to work up to since july was more of a “get the miles in my legs” month coming off of my injury but coming from 2 months of no running and very little activity the mileage I AM running is still a jump and given my injury history I am VERY conscious of the fact that my body needs proper fueling to match my nutritional needs, I’ve spent far too many years under fueling and I believe that that has definitely played into my injury risk so I’ve been consciously trying to remind myself that a girl’s gotta eat Wow okay I typed like half of this and then had to go to a team meeting and my coworker just got a fitbit and every fricken two seconds keeps talking about how many steps she needs and calories it says she burned and I want to SCREAM and then she started talking about going keto and not eating carbs and out loud I literally said “that is bullshit” and a fellow coworker agreed with me thank goodness And ugh that line of thinking isn’t even ~triggering~ to me but it just pisses me the fuck off because like No! Cutting out food groups and adhering to bullshit diet guidelines is ridiculous! Now I’m gonna go eat my damn. cookie. A/N: I had this idea while eating breakfast this morning lmao but for the sake of the plot, Lucas will be called “Yukhei” so ehnjoi

Part I 

Synopsis: You and Yukhei were childhood friends. Due to an accident, your memory is altered and you completely forget about Yukhei. Till one day while taking pictures for your school yearbook, you take a picture of Yukhei without realizing it was him. Then one thing leads to another but in the end, will your memory be restored?

As senior chief photographer for the yearbook of your high school, it is your utmost duty to capture the greatest shots ever compared to the rest of the staff. You were given a very luxurious camera with a lens the size of a can of soup and a case to carry your needs for the camera. You latched your hall pass on the loop of your waist on your jeans just in case any annoying hall monitors try to get up your ass about being in the halls without a pass. Jesus, you’ve been taking pictures of student life since freshmen year and you have gotten at least a grand total of 62 detention slips but never served any since you proved your innocence. 

In 1 minute, the bell will ring and it will indicate that 5th hour is over. You make your way to the side of a locker and get your camera ready. It will go off every 3 seconds and capture what ever is in front of it. All you gotta do is wait till the next bell rings and be on your way. 

The nosy ass bell releases a screech similar to the sound of when a monitor says a person has no heartbeat and therefore dead. Doors swing open and in a matter of seconds, halls flood with students with different physiques. Click click click goes your camera. You know some shots are going to be blurry and fuzzy but it doesn’t matter. This is student life. You notice the different people. Some were struggling to reach the top shelf of their locker (me everyday in school yikes) and others-

who is that? 

You look up from your camera and notice the tall, fit boy diagonal from you. His hair is a faded blonde; can easily reach the dreaded top shelf. He pulls out a physics book and tucks it under his arm. It a subtle slam, he begins making his way towards your direction. Nothing is more creepy than seeing someone taking pictures of you randomly but when he walks past you, you see through the lens that he smirked at you. “Whoa..” you thought. Peculiar enough however, you can’t seem to remember who this guy is. 

The next bell rang. 

In the red room, where all the pictures you took are developed, you began to hang on a clothes pin all of today’s shots. Most of them you had to scrap since they were blurry. You pace slowly gazing at the almost developed pictures. “So much for a good shoot..” you sigh. “All of these are so fucking blurry ugh..” As you reach the last picture however, your eyes widen. It was the tall guy from the halls. Everything around him is blended with the background but he- he is clear as a sunny day. He isn’t even posing for the camera, yet he looks so effortlessly photogenic. 

The picture finished developing and you unpinned it. He was walking your direction when the picture was taken. “Who the heck are you dammit your name is at the tip of my tongue.” you said. Then it hit you. You’re in yearbook committee you have access to everyone’s name with a picture attached to it. You take the picture with you and lock up the red room. Then after typing in the password to your computer, you look up the roster to the senior class, which is also your class.

“Yukhei?”  you thought. Digging through the files of your memory, you try to recall anything related to that name and face. Nothing for now... You see his schedule. “Stalker much?” You hear the back door open and your co-editor/ best friend Seulgi enter. “I’m not stalking I’m researching.” clarifying her ‘mistake’ in calling your actions ‘stalking’. “Uh huh yeah... why are you looking up....oh shit that is a really great shot of Yukhei!” she peeps over your shoulder. “I know but how did you know that was Yukhei?” you asked curving your brow. “He’s my physics lab partner and everybody knows Yukhei, he’s kinda popular.” 

Great. Now to him you might seem like a creepy fangirl taking pics of him everywhere. But this is the first time you’ve encountered Yukhei he can’t possibly know you. 

“He’s really photogenic.” you admit. He wasn’t even in fancy clothing all he was wearing was black jeans with some vans and a dark blue flannel and a simple white tee. Yet...this guy looked like a model. You shake your head trying to pry off your keen observations about that boy. What is going on with you? “Are you going to lock up after you’re done?” you ask Seulgi. “Yeah I just have to finish these captions about the lax team...say, did you already take some action shots of the varsity lax team in practice? I only have Junior Varsity.” You slap your head as you remembered. “Oh shit I’m sorry I got caught up in developing that I forgot I had to take pics of the team at practice.” “It’s okay but their practice is over and tomorrow they have a game. Luckily it’s at home and not 2 cities over so maybe you can try getting something before the game.” Seulgi suggested. You nod, “Thanks Seul, I’ll have them ready for you at 4 tomorrow.” She nodded and you bid your goodbyes. 

After you shut the door behind you, Seulgi thought to herself, “So, she doesn’t remember Yukhei too huh. They used to be inseparable.  She must’ve forgotten everything about him since the accident because she clearly didn’t remember that he is on the varsity lax team. She didn’t even remember who he was...”

 The final bell rang and you gather your things to take pictures of the team out on the field. You look at the time and the lax team should be warming up now. You shut your locker and make your way to the fields. 

As you walk towards there, you spot other students lounging in the school patio. Some are working, talking with friends or just simply on their phones. You pause and take out your camera. “This is perfect for student life.” you thought and clicked the button. As you put down your camera to see the results, you feel a presence staring at you. “That’s a really big lens you got there.” a deep voice said. You turn around and Yukhei was approaching you. “Isn’t it heavy to carry that everywhere for pictures of the students?” You open your mouth as if you’re about to speak but end up weakly smiling and saying, “Uh, yeah it kinda is, but its okay, I have this bag and it isn’t as bad.” and showed him your camera’s bag. He smiled back and mouthed ‘ah’. You notice he has a lax stick and helmet in his hand. “Aren’t you supposed to be at your game right now?” you asked. “Yes, but coach sent me to get a replacement helmet since my guard snapped and I could risk getting my teeth blown out.” he explained calmly. “Are you on your way there too?” You nod. “Yeah, I got caught up with developing pictures I took yesterday that I forgot to take pics of you guys during practice so....here I am.” 

“Did my pictures turn out okay?” he asked smiling. “Your what?” “My pictures. I saw you yesterday in the halls taking pictures of people in the halls and as I was walking past you I heard a click and I assume I was in the shot.” he giggled. You’re not sure that your mind is going slightly crazy because he saw you taking pictures in the hall or because you just heard the cutest giggle ever in mankind. “Oh sorry yeah you did appear in some. There was one in particular that turned out really well but it’s still in debate to include it or not. If it does, I’ll give you an acute interview so we have a caption by your picture.” You explained. He looked down and smiled. “Gee, hope I make the cut.” A loud squeaky whistle was heard not to far and Yukhei began to turn towards the fields. “Love to stay and talk longer, but I-” “Have a game to get to I’m sorry I’m holding you up...good luck!” He turned around and waved goodbye to you. You watch him run to his team and you walk around the lax fields for good shots of the players.

Yukhei felt the extra need to show off today in practice and the game. His coaches even applauded him and noticed his spark in performance. “What has you hyped up Wong?” his coach asked him after the victory of his team was secured thanks to Yukhei’s fast moves and smart plays. “I don't know myself coach, I just had a goal and it was to win.” he smiled proudly. But, he knows damn well he was just showing off because you were there and he never really felt the need to impress anyone till now. “Well, keep it up champ. We’re proud of you.” “Thank you coach.” 

As he was approaching his car, he noticed a familiar silhouette from earlier today. “Hey! Y/n!” he yells and you spin towards his direction. He catches up to you and you look up at him. “You know my name?” “Well, I’ve bought the yearbook before and your name is next to a picture of you so yeah I do remember- oh shit that sounds creepy I’m so-” You giggle this time and shake your hand “No, don’t be, it makes sense you do.” He sighed with a smile. “Why are you heading back to school?” You show him your camera, “I have to get these shots to Seulgi before I forget again so I’m on my way to develop these.” He studies the camera and looks at you with a cheesy smile, “can I join you? I’ve always been curious on how pictures are developed.” He. Is seriously. So. Adorable!! You mentally scream and then nodded, “Of course, I promise to be quick.” 

The walk there was silent and frankly, both of you did not mind. Silence was almost comforting. You open the door and let him in first. The red light immediately turned on and Yukhei flinched. “It’s so...red in here.” he states the obvious. He looks at the pictures and wanders around gazing at them like a child at a toy store. “It isn’t called the red room for nothing I guess.” you tease. He chuckles and joins you were you were standing developing the pictures. After a couple minutes of drenching the film in the liquid to develop them, he stares in awe as you hang it up and clasp it with a clothes pin. “And now we wait till they’re dry and we’re done here!” you clap once and began cleaning up. “Hey, I was wondering...” he started and you look up at him indicating he has your full attention. “Can we have a photo shoot or something? I’m really sorry if I sound creepy or whatnot but I’ve seen your work and gosh, it really good and all of my friends suck at taking pictures but you- you really know how to work the lens and shit and I just wanna go somewhere pretty and take pretty pictures.” You can feel yourself madly blushing because that was the sweetest thing anyone has ever said about your photography. “Of course, I’d love to. Where do you wanna go?” 

“It’s a secret, is it alright that I pick you up Saturday at like, lets say 2 and we can go on from there?” Now you’re certain you’re blushing. How can this be? One day you take a random picture of him, next you converse with him, and now you suspect you’re going on a date with him. Is it a date? He specifically called it a photo shoot. Are you getting ahead of yourself?? You quickly snap back to reality, “Uh- yeah...yeah that’s fine.” you smile coyly and hand him your number along with your address. “You still live where I used to live?” he whispered to himself. You couldn’t quite catch what he said but shrug it off.  

Yukhei arrived home and the sound of the front door closing caught the attention of his parents. “Yukhei? Son is that you?” “No mom I’m a thief who’s about to steal the TV.” He sighs. “Why the sarcasm? Where were you after the game? It ended 2 hours ago?” His mother relentlessly bombarded him with questions. “Sorry for the sarcasm, I was with y/n.” His parents’ eyes went wide as hell. “With who?” His father questioned. “With y/n. The girl who I have to act like I don’t know her. Mom. Dad. I’m sick of pretending like I don’t know her. I know for sure she forgot all about me since the accident but please, let me remind her of me. I miss my best friend.” He poured his emotions. “Yukhei, how stupid can you be? Do you know why we forbid you to even be in the presence of y/n? We can lose the company, the house, the lifestyle we worked so hard for..you-” his father is interrupted by Yukhei slamming his bag on the ground. 

“I know all of that already. If she remembers who I am, she will remember I was the one who caused her to fall down the stairs but for God’s sake, it was a fucking accident. She won’t press charges on me and it’s not my fucking fault her parents hate your guts so much that they think I tried to kill her. Ever since I found out she came back from rehab in Germany, all I’ve ever wanted to do was hug my best friend but no, I talked to her today and it felt great to hear her voice again. 4 years have gone by and not once till a couple days ago I heard her speak. She doesn’t remember the past me but I sure as hell won’t leave for Harvard without her being my friend again.” 

Yukhei grabbed his bag and stomped his way to his room. He slammed his door shut making it obvious he does not want to talk to anyone. He got off his bed and rummaged through the bottom drawer of his desk. There, he pulled out a tiny cardboard box covered in ripped up masking tape and worn out teddy bear stickers and was labeled “Xuxi n’ (a cute nickname for you)’s tiem capsol”. He smirked at the messy 5 year old handwriting and incorrect spelling. 

That little box was decorated by you and Yukhei when you were 5 and he was 6. Your parents are the owners of a prestigious tech company and Yukhei’s parents are the owners of your parents’ rival company. You were both neighbors at the time. Your house was across from his. Coincidentally, your bedroom window had a perfect view of Yukhei’s bedroom window so there were days you both would send each other messages with your play chalkboards through your windows. You always called Yukhei ‘Xuxi’ since 5 year old you couldn’t pronounce Yukhei right and it always came out sounding like ‘yoog-hay-ee’. One day, you both saw a science movie at your house and it involved a time capsule. You both were super stoked and wanted to make one of your own. You guys went up to your room and all you managed to find was a small shoebox. Yukhei quickly ran home to find some stuff to put in the box while you stayed decorating the box. Little you was still learning to spell but you wrote the nickname Yukhei had for you and Yukhei’s nickname. 

After you both gathered your mementos, but as Yukhei was about to start stuffing it, you grabbed his wrist before he can do anything. “Wait!” you shouted. You got up from your knees and opened up the tiny picture frame that contained a small picture of you and Yukhei on your first day here in the neighborhood. “I wanna put this here, so we can not forget who made this time capsule!” you gleamed. He furiously nodded and gave you 2 thumbs up. With some masking tape and teddy bear stickers, the box was sealed. 

Even though you and Yukhei are the best of friends, both your parents are out for blood for each other. Sure, they started out as friendly neighbors when you moved into the neighborhood when you were 2 but that quickly ascended into horrendous rivalry. Your dad found out that Yukhei’s father has been secretly stealing his clients slowly over the years and frankly, it pissed him off. His sales were dropping and he had to let go some of his trusty employees in order to maintain budget. But what really set him off is that his idea of a new security system was blatantly stolen by Yukhei’s father. Your dad was furious. Yukhei, to this day, remembers the shouting and pounding from both your parents and his. 

“Don’t be surprised if the things you love are suddenly gone, Wong. I will have my lawyers look so deeply into this that you will be charged with a felony for theft.” Your father warned. “Bring it on y/l/n , I’m still winning. You watch out before something actually bad happens to you.” Yukhei’s father smirked but then went sour again. “Get the hell out of my house before I call the cops.” 

That fight just made it hard for you and Yukhei to be around each other. One day, however, you manage to have a play date with Yukhei at your house. The wooden staircase was dangerous when you had on fuzzy socks and you both were running around playing tag. Your parents were out of the house tending to a quick meeting. Your nanny should’ve been with you 15 minutes ago but she was stuck in traffic. When Yukhei finally caught up to you, you wanted to dodge his hand but unfortunately, with barely any friction present, you slipped on the top stair and came crashing down. Yukhei saw you and everything was in slow motion. When he came back to his senses, you were on the bottom step, eyes closed, blood leaking out of you, and silent. He never screamed so hard in his life. He tried to stop the bleed with his hand but no use. A shift in the front door lock caught his attention. There he was. Your father seeing his daughter practically lifeless in the arms of his arch nemesis's son. He looked at Yukhei with darkness filled in him. “You-you killed my daughter. You were sent by your father to murder my daughter..” he whispered. Little Yukhei was trembling with fear. “I-I swear-r I didn’t..she fell sir I-I swear!” he quivered. He got up and carefully put you down. He heard a faint groan from you so to him, you weren’t dead but your father shoved him to the side and came to your aid. He dialed 911 and Yukhei ran home crying. 

He explained what happened to his parents and they came to the conclusion that they need to move out of this neighborhood. Moving Day arrived for Yukhei and he knew he needed to get the time capsule because Lord knows when he will get to see you again. He got to your backyard and inconspicuously reached the rose bush were you both buried the capsule. He dusted off any excess dirt and rushed home. He moved to a neighborhood on the other side of town but since your head trauma needed extra attention, you had to move to a hospital in Berlin, Germany. You never knew Yukhei moved. 

With intensive care and effective exercises, you managed to function normally. But, doctors have noticed that you can’t remember who you were with the day the accident happened. You settled on the fact that you just slipped and busted your head open. But as much as your parents try to, they can’t seem to make you remember who Yukhei is. They want you to hate him and make you realize he’s a bad influence. Eventually, your parents dropped the topic and tried their best to make you live a happy life.

Yukhei stared at the picture of you guys when you were both toddlers. He yearned for a chance to see you again, but his heart nearly ripped apart when he spotted you at your locker freshmen year and came rushing towards you with a gleaming smile. “Y/n you’re back!! God, I missed you so much!!” You looked at him with a confused smile. “Oh, I’m sorry I’m positive we haven’t met before I just moved here from Germany” He stood there stunned. “Oh..god sorry this is so awkward I thought you were my other friend who-who happened to have the same name...I’m sorry I’ll just-” he walked away briskly and never talk to you again. Till today. 

After that incident freshmen year, he told his parents you are back and in fear of being caught up in any charges, Yukhei’s parents forbade him from talking to you ever again. He was obedient back then but sometimes, you have to break some rules. 

He closed his eyes and breathed in really deep. “Damn, so many years have gone by....and you still manage to take my breath away y/n.” He placed the picture right back in its cute little box and closed the drawer. He changed out of his workout clothes and showered. He let the hot water trickle down from his head, down to his toned abdomen. He stared at the wall. He can’t seem to get you out of his head. He washed himself and got dressed. He didn’t even bother putting on a shirt so he slipped on a black hoodie and some dark grey joggers. He checked his phone. 8:43 PM 

His parents left for a business dinner and left Yukhei his car keys. After the little quarrel with his parents, he thought he was grounded or something. He trotted downstairs and made his way to his car. He’s craving something sweet so he decides he wants some ice cream from his favorite convenient store downtown. Listening to some indie rock, Yukhei wonders what music you like. Could you both have the same taste? Could you possibly remember that when you were both young you both knew the theme song for *insert favorite childhood tv show* by heart? A smile crept onto Yukhei. He arrives at the convenient store and does the ‘bro nod’ to the cashier. He’s cool with him since he frequents here a lot. Yukhei whistles the melody of the song he was just listening to in his car and made his way to the ice cream. He opened the freezer door and grabbed the last ‘strawberry-choco delite’. Satisfied, he went to go pay. While paying, he heard someone enter and the cashier waved at them. As he was about to exit, he heard a loud sigh coming from the freezers. “Y/n?” 

You looked at the familiar figure in front of you. “Oh..Yukhei hi!” He walked towards you. “Funny how we keep seeing each other a lot today huh...what happened?” You point at the empty slot. “Some asshole took the last strawberry-choco delite and I was really looking forward in eating some.” Yukhei’s eyes went wide. “I-I just bought the last pint just now...” Realizing what the heck you just said, your hands immediately cover your open mouth. “Oh shit I’m so sorry I didn’t mean-” “Don’t sweat it, if I saw my favorite flavor was gone, I’d be pissed too.” He smiled. 

“I still feel bad I called you an asshole though...” You look at your shoes. “Here, to prove that you’re forgiven..” he grabs 2 spoons from the condiment set up close by, “lets share my ice cream.” You look at him in awe but guilt. “It’s your-” “If you don’t share with me, I won't forgive you.” You look at him, then the spoons. You sigh and grab a spoon. Since there are no tables or benches nearby, you both settle on eating in his car. You’re starting to feel like Yukhei is going to mean so much to you. 3 encounters in one day? It’s a sign.

So I was in the London crowd tonight and had a pretty good view of both Tessa and Janelle. What a night! Really didn’t expect this. Tessa seemed to stand on top of a step or something so she was pretty visible. Nate was maybe 4 meters away from her by the mixing booth. A couple of things I noticed:

Tessa did not look at the screen when the audience cheered for her video clip appearance during PYNK. She kept looking away during moments like this throughout the evening. A couple of people took selfies with her so she must have been aware of people watching. Tessa seemed to giggle and repeated Janelle’s pointing motion followed by a simulated lasso into Janelle’s direction. She was on the phone throughout the rhythm dance intro in the beginning of Make me Feel… We all know what happened next - she must have gone live soon after

There were a couple of moments where she was flat out beaming.

Joe Biden was sworn in and became the 46th president of the United States. He used a 19th century family Bible to be sworn in. The huge Bible is a family heirloom that has been in the Biden family since 1893.

In his inaugural address, President Biden called for the American people to come together after four years of division.

"Politics doesn't have to be a raging fire destroying everything in its path," Biden said. "We have to be different than this. America has to be better than this. I will be a president for all Americans," Biden said. "I will fight as hard for those who did not support me as those who did."

Kamala Harris was sworn in as the Vice President of the United States, making history as the first Black person, first South Asian-American and first woman to ever hold the office. She’s also the first HBCU grad and first member of a Black sorority to do so.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor - the first woman of color to serve on the Supreme Court - administered the oath. VP Harris used two Bibles to be sworn in. One belonged to family friend Regina Shelton (whom Harris views as a surrogate mother). The second Bible was previously owned by the late Justice Thurgood Marshall, the first Black Supreme Court Justice and Harris' lifelong political role model.

After the inauguration ceremony, President Biden & Madame VP Harris traveled from the U.S. Capitol to the Arlington National Cemetery to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Flekke Reflections: Buzzfeed style

My thoughts have wandered back to the sunny Flekke days (those 10 days a year made a huge impression on me apparently) more than I’d like to admit. I promised myself that I wouldn’t become one of those second-years that came back to visit, that never really moved on, but goddamnit our firsties know bring the RCN-feels back with pretty photoshopped pics of the northern lights, and those sentimental captions regarding “friendships that last forever” that are painfully cliché yet painfully true.

I sometimes wonder what has changed and what has stayed the same. I wonder what we second-years ruined for you (cough cough the menus sorry about that folks) and whether we left RCN a better place (or whether it became better through us leaving?). Whether they teach the same stuff in RCN Life Skills. Whether the food has improved. Whether students still use their communist tables to share food in a kind socialist manner. Whether our firsties are studying less or more or just as much. Whether the real firsties, our zero-years, are as happy as we used to be before life (the IB, the unis, the shitty ROPs) caught up with us. Whether our firsties are as ready to leave at this point as I was. Whether their eyes will be dry or wet on grad.

If I got the opportunity I would live those two years all over again (not a 4-year-thing fuck thats too long I mean this in a way that yes I would start over).

And I would have made more mistakes than I did, because goddamnit it’s 2 years of your life and none of your regrets matter in the real world and RCN is just really the perfect place to just live and learn. I never realized that until it was too late, although my second-year told me this when it was too late for her. And I guess that’s just how life works (advice is not trusted until it is experienced).

In the same manner as I’m clinging on to my old memories of Flekke, I’ll cling on to this tumblr post for a while longer because why the fuck not and also because no one reads long rants like the above one, but everyone reads lists and so here are some “RCN things you should appreciate” that no one will remember but everyone will read anyways because it reminds you of BuzzFeed

So yeah this is what I miss

Walking to class with my heart in my stomach because my mindset the night before had been “gossip/the uwc experience > homework”

Trying as hard as possible not to fall asleep during those 1hr long random lectures in the auditorium

Making cheese sandwiches and not having to clean up after myself because Sweden House would be ugly no matter how hard I cleaned lol

Looking around frantically, trying to decide whether I should clap or not when someone broke dishes in kantina

Playing the W4 game of “whos hot?”, and realizing my standards had become way too low

Table-picking, choosing the wrong table, and then ABORT ABORT ABORT to a more interesting table because life’s too short not to table-whore

The openings of Student Shop at 2200 that were always happening around 2215 or later on because the art of remembering the key was too advanced for the student shop peeps

The 20 minute naps that turned into 2 hr naps where dinner was skipped and another IA deadline had suddenly passed by and you’d almost missed connect

Singing “We Are The World” sarcastically and months later on realizing that were not really being sarcastic but in fact having one of the famous UWC MOMENTS

The sticky notes on the desks, whether they were from Secret Santa or from a study buddy that you’d let down or from a friend with an extra cookie

I miss these moments a lot, and I miss the individuals that I lived with and loved for 2 years even more. I still love them. Some things will never change.

All of those aforementioned captions were written by rising rap star #LilPeep on his Instagram page days before he was found dead on Wednesday November 14th 2017 due to a suspected drug overdose. The artist & model whose real name was Gustav Ahr was only 21 YEARS OLD at the time of his death, and in a case of creepy irony, along with above captions, Peep also posted an IG pic of him taking two pills on his tongue, an image that eerily harks back to the drug use that may have taken his life

I personally have never listened to LIL PEEP'S music or even heard of him before news broke of his passing & it might be safe to that some of you in my audience hadn't heard of him either. Still, I felt it was important to share this story because it highlights 2 major issues attacking our as human beings in this era: 1) recreational drug use & 2) mental health

In short, a lot of us are ESCAPING THROUGH OUR #ADDICTIONS: Drugs, alcohol, sex to NUMB OUR PAIN EMOTIONALLY & PHYSICALLY with #TEMPORARYHIGHS, due to mental health issues that are exacerbated by spiritual warfare & social media excess

At the end of the day, a relationship with #JESUSCHRIST & finding your IDENTITY & JOY in him is the TRUEST WAY to fill that void many of us feel & people are CRYING OUT FOR THAT LEVEL OF #HEALING. The problem is that WE ARE 'SCROLLING PAST' friends, family & associates on our social media pages & in our REAL LIFE in REAL TIME who are desperately crying out to us because we don't like how they look, don't make the time to care or just dismiss them as attention seekers

Update: Welp, it seems that Busted S3 is underway...? Earlier, Park Min Young posted the picture on the left on her IG with the caption "BUSTED season 3 ✌🏻" A little bit earlier than that, Hwang Bora also posted on her IG a behind the scenes pic of her in the S3 set.

So, something's happening.

They did say that the plan was to film the first half of this year, and the projected release date for S3 was on the second half. Hopefully we'll get to see our Magnificent 7 this fall!

Out of the many squillions of pictures I took at the Tower of London, I think I took the most in the Beauchamp Tower. It was often used for housing important prisoners, because it was close to the Lieutenant’s lodgings, and a lot of them carved elaborate graffiti into the walls.

The first few pictures are of Tower Green, perhaps best known as the site where Anne Boleyn was executed. The round dealie you can see in the second row picture (which shows the view from Beauchamp Tower) is a memorial to the people executed there. It was erected in 2006. I didn’t get a good photo of it, I think mostly because it was colder than balls that day, and windier than balls to boot and it’s hard to get really good shots when you’re worried you’re going to be blown off your feet. You can also see, in the Tower Green pics, the church of St. Peter ad Vincula (first row, left), and the Waterloo Barracks, where the crown jewels are kept. (Which we did see, and I will talk about it later -- it was the last thing we went to -- but you’re not allowed to take pictures in there.)

It would take a long time to write about all the different stories behind the pieces of graffiti (plus I didn’t always get pictures of the captions/transcriptions) so I’ll focus on a few of them, but I did take some close-up pictures of the different inscriptions in the third row photo:

I couldn’t fit these into the photoset but they’re in the same general area:

The bell-shaped carving in the middle is a rebus -- note the letter A on the bell. The carver’s name was Thomas Abel. He was Catherine of Aragon’s chaplain and was imprisoned (and eventually executed) for refusing to acknowledge Henry VIII’s marriage to Anne Boleyn.

The fourth row of the photoset is an elaborate carving made by someone named Thomas Peverell. I don’t actually know much about him; you can see a little bit of information if you click on the picture.

The beautiful carving in the fifth row is believed to have been made by John Dudley, who was imprisoned in the Tower along with his entire family for his support of Lady Jane Grey. It shows the family coat of arms bordered by flowers and plants, which represent four of the brothers, as the inscription at the bottom indicates:

Yow that these beasts do wel behold and se, may deme with ease wherefore here made they be, with borders eke wherin [there may be found] 4 brothers names who list to serche the ground

So the carnations (gillyflowers) represent Guildford Dudley, Lady Jane’s husband; the roses are for Ambrose; the oak (quercus robur) for future royal favorite Robert; and the honeysuckle (lonicera henryi) for Henry. I guess they think John carved it because he doesn’t have a plant.

Here’s a translation of the Tyrrel carving, sixth row right:

We don’t actually know what happened to him (although I assumed he was executed based on what he wrote on the wall, apparently there’s no confirmation of that), which lends a weirdly ominous aspect to his carving.

And of course the “JANE” carving is very well-known. Tradition holds that Jane Grey carved it herself but apparently that’s unlikely as she would have been held in swankier lodgings.

It’s only been four days since I got to Japan but I feel like I’ve already done so much and…spent…so..much

I got to Kyoto Seika University and settled into my dorm the past few days. There was a little mix-up with my room when I got here but everything ended up well and I’m really happy because everyone in the program is really chill, just like the weather

(Honestly though, it’s been pretty cold the past few days. Today was probably the nicest weather, and it was still around 49 degrees F.)

We had a welcome party the second night after a HECKA LONG orientation that lasted literally 5 hours total. I couldn’t grocery shop and I’ve been pushing it off since then

Being an introvert meant that I had to take baby steps to include myself into ongoing conversations. But doing so, I was able to meet a few people here and there, and it was so awesome because PEOPLE ACTUALLY WANTED TO TALK TO ME!! And we were all so interested in each other and it was so awesome. 🙂 🙂 🙂

I’m honestly surprised at how easy it has been to make friends. Like I said, everyone in the program is really cool and we all want to go out and do things and it’s really cool. Also everyone who I’ve met so far in the university is really cool too. My roommate and I met this one girl who is SO GOOD AT KOREAN like SO GOOD. She’s really cute and I really like her. This place is kinda sorta really awesome

We went to the international center thing of Kyoto (Kokusai-kaikan), where they hold UN meetings and stuff. Apparently you never get to go inside, but there was a special event thing going on that allowed us to! AND we also got to see a short program of a ten-string-tet (idk what it’s called when it’s ten strings) performing some pieces about spring. Here are some pictures:

  After we went to Kokusai-kaikan, our Japanese friends who came along took us to the Downtown market of Kyoto (Shijo)!! IT WAS LIT. I had okonomiyaki for the first time and my tummy was v happy. If you follow me on ig you probably saw all the stuff about the game center and the random parade when I was there.

AH, QUICK NOTE BEFORE MY NEXT PICTURE SPILL: Kyoto background!! Kyoto is Japan’s best picture of historical and modern Japan. Many World Heritage sites are in Kyoto, some of which I’ll be talking about (Kin/Gin-kakuji), because many of Japan’s historical events took place here. -April 8th, 2018-

It is Sunday. After much contemplation and research I decided to try going to a church. The nearest one is 30 minutes by bus, and service was around 10:30 so I was gonna try to go, and then visit the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) in hopes to find sakura trees that survived the rain, since church was in the middle of the uni and Kinkaku-ji. BUT ofc i got lost bc i didnt know how to bus in japan and the driver was a little annoyed and lol i got off and wandered for like an hour lol so me

SO I missed church but somehow made it to Kinkaku-ji. Do you want some background?? I guess I’ll give background.

Kinkaku-ji means “Temple of the Golden Pavilion,” and it sits in a little lake which sometimes reflects the temple. It’s plated in REAL GOLD (ok tbh idk if it’s real gold dont quote me lol) but REAL GOLD and was said to represent the Pure Land of Buddha in this world. Long time ago, it was  also used as an official guesthouse for an important emperor. You can’t go inside because it’s blocked off, and you couldn’t go even if it wasn’t because of all the PLEASANT tourists that keep shamelessly getting in front of your pictures lolol im a tourist too tho lolol

Overall, Kikaku is representative of Muromachi-period architecture

this is my fav stranger pic. they looked so good and made my heart so full :’) i love them even tho idk them…i love them. also i think the structure behind them i used for their backdrop is important too, it’s like a part of the ritual lol

OK this wasn’t the end of my trip today but it’s getting late (it’s 9:30 LOL). Some of my friends also came so we rendezvoued (thats correct spelling) and went to the Silver Pavilion (Ginkaku-ji) after. Kinkaku was definitely more majestic, but we all liked Ginkaku-ji much better. It’s setting was just amazing. I’ll write a new post for that bc this one was longer than i thought lol so stay tuned!!

also i bought so much stuff today lol did i mention i’m spending money
