💀 Hades may not inherently like how your brother acts, but whenever you look at him with big puppy-dog eyes, his heart melts

💀 You mainly became close due to your jobs working together and gossiping about your families (the Greek and Egyptian Pantheons), you now know a lot more about Poseidon and Zeus

💀 You and Hades eventually began to court one another a few centuries after your first meet, which in a God's life is like knowing somebody for around a few months, depending on the amount

💀 Due to how close you had gotten, you wanted Hades to meet your parents, Osiris and Nephthys. And he always reacted the same; maybe after you meet mine first

💀 Respecting his wishes, you had met Hades' family on a number of occasions, your most memorable being when Zeus tried hitting on you, but before his sons could pull him back to reality, Hades grabbed his ear and scolded him like a mother would. Though he did also glare at him with nothing in his eyes... maybe that was why he almost pissed his toga...

💀 And over time, your requests began to get more frequent. So, respecting your wishes as well, Hades agreed to meet your family, much to you and your brother's delight

💀 You hopped that this would go perfectly, but hope doesn't always work out...

💀 Hades had to resist grabbing Osiris' crook and snapping it into splinters with his hands. Instead, he took a deep breath and lightly nudged the item away from his neck and began looking at you across the room with hearts in his eyes as he spilled said organ's love and devotion out to his Father-in-Law

" Osiris, your youngest is by-far the most spectacular person I have ever met in my many centuries of living. In both physical appearance and how their personality and beyond is, they just... they just feel so right to have by my side, you know? I cannot stand the mere thought of laying harm to her, mental of physical. It makes my stomach plummet to the depths of my immortal soul. Seeing them happy and smiling on the other hand? That is one thing I would never change nor rid myself of for the world. "

💀 Looking up and down at Hades and contemplating his words, Osiris sighed deeply and held his crook lighter than before as a smile slightly covered his face before it turned into a teasing yet dangerous scowl

hades constantly stuck around maria and their kids? BOOM (literally, lol) maria got blown up and hades lost his shit and cursed the oracle which led to a whole other mess(es) 💀

pluto swore on the river styx to give marie anything she wanted and she asked for all the riches of the underworld and BOOM she got a cursed daughter (hazel 🥺) with years of childhood trauma who accidentally revived gaia's son, alcyoneus, which eventually led to BOTH of their deaths (and more messes) 💀

beryl grace got obsessed with the attention from zeus/jupiter and craved for more? BOOM she's dead from a drunken car crash with one kid a tree and another one raised by wolves 💀

hermes always coming by to visit may and luke? BOOM may went crazy, luke started a revolution, and hermes now has years of depression to unpack because he tried desperately to change luke's fate despite knowing it was pointless 💀

sally jackson fucked poseidon, got a kid out of it and that was it. she was spared from any horrible terror that the other mortals went through (thank gods for that). can you imagine if she had actually accepted that offer???? with zeus' stupid "gods can't interact with their mortal children" rule AND his burning hate-boner for poseidon (and eventually percy) AND with percy being a forbidden kid destined to have a shitty life because she's the product of a broken vow AND the fact that she decided to stay close to a god AND accept his gift/offering AND there's the fact that poseidon would've done ANYTHING to try and save them from any bad fate (and fail just like hermes)???? oh the fates would've cooked up a HORRIBLE ending for her and percy 😭😭

literally i think every single character that stuck too close to a god or accepted their gifts/offering got a tragic end or one of the most traumatizing backstory ever or at least horribly affected someone close to them (like their kids), meanwhile the worst percy had to deal with was bullying in school and some level of physical abuse from gabe before The Plot happened 😭😭

the ror gods would definitely give sally jackson shit for daring to reject a god (and even chose a human over one), but that's the thing: they're gods, arrogant and cruel. most of them wouldn't understand the depth of tragedy that they cause (or care)

smarter and more empathetic gods like hestia, buddha, sun wukong, etc. would notice the subtle details and realize that sally jackson made a VERY smart move because holy shit, everything SUCKS for any mortal who gets too close to a god in that universe💀💀💀

honestly, because most of the greek myths are just fanfics in ror verse, the whole "tragedy is a part of the greeks" isn't really the same for the ror!greeks, only the pjo!greeks because those tragedies were REAL for them, and some are even repeated. so most of the ror gods wouldn't get just how TRAGIC things are for those in the pjo universe, at least not right away 😭

I posted this comment on "you'll be here in my heart" (is that an anticlea reference I see ?) and I thought i would expand on it cus my brain actually produced some ideas for such an interaction . (Also I generally think of epic!laertes and odyssey!laertes being the same for reasons I explained here )( I also imagine odysseus being in his late 40's by the end of epic for timeline reasons)

I can also imagine epic!laertes telling embarrassing stories about his kids like how odysseus would get into trouble cus he would go places he wasn't allowed to and accidentally lose his jewellery that had his name on it and you'll be here in my heart!zeus and laertes realising they have no such stories or if they do, they certainly aren't happy ones and they start to realise what shitty parents they are. Also..American sign language for a Greek child is so 💀 and can..a God even be born deaf?? Like..she's still a God? Take Hephaestus, he got that way cuz he was dropped from Mount Olympus..but?? Can they? It just seems like a very..interesting new detail Rachel added just for brownie points in how 'diverse' her cast is.

(And it's so funny that Persephone stole Zeus' child so he wouldn't be raised by nymphs and yet..this boy has been neglected left and right and now he's in Tartarus. Zeus should punch her and take his son back 🤨)

🔵: It seems that the rules for the unique Personas in this game are that the initial Personas are from Greek mythology, and after awakening, they are from other mythologies. This is to express in a system-like way that each person's potential expands as they awaken.

🦋: Now, let's ask the holders of each Persona to explain the origins of each one.

Orpheus

Main Character: ...

🔵: Ah, he seems a bit quiet, so let me explain. Orpheus is a character in Greek mythology, famous for chasing his lover Eurydice who went to the underworld. He is also the son of the sun god Apollo. The lyre on his back comes from an anecdote in which Orpheus was known as a master of the lyre, and even in the game, you can see a glimpse of his musical talent in the cadenza (meaning a solo impromptu piece) in Mixed Raid. In the anecdote in the underworld, he is shown to have done many things, such as putting Cerberus, the gatekeeper of the underworld, to sleep with the sound of his lyre. By the way, it is said that Zeus made the constellation Lyra out of Orpheus' lyre.

Thanatos

💀: I, the creator, would like to introduce this one. Is that okay?

💀: What? You don't care? Well, I'll go ahead. Thanatos is the god of death in Greek mythology. He is an unwelcome god born from Nyx, the goddess of night. Originally, he was a conceptual god, so his appearance was not clearly depicted, but he was first depicted as a god with a personality in Homer's epic poems. Thanatos was originally death itself, but as a result, he became a messenger god who only carried the souls of the dead. There are stories like rakugo stories in which the souls that were supposed to be carried to the underworld were stolen, and people could not die for a while. By the way, there is also a psychological term called Thanatos, which represents the instinct to desire death, including the drive for self-destruction, which is unbecoming of living things.

Messiah

🔵: This is a Persona that belongs to the Judgement Arcana. It is the highest rank of Judgement, and can only be created when the SEES rank is MAX. In the early stages of game planning, it was said that Messiah could not be created unless all Social Links other than Judgement were MAX, so I was surprised. Well, I'm glad it became easy. Now, this Messiah. This is not a god or demon in mythology, but a Hebrew word that means "savior". It is the English reading of Messiah. This can be abbreviated to Greek as "Christos", which is known as the origin of the word Christ.

The word "Messiah" originally means "the anointed one," and it comes from the fact that in Jewish culture, rulers and priests were appointed with oil. It came to be used to refer to a good leader, and ultimately a savior who would lead the people.

Hermes

🧢: Hey, it's Junpei! My Hermes is known in Greek mythology as the messenger of the gods. Apparently, he darted swiftly across the sky and was worshipped as the god of travelers and merchants. My Persona also has cool wings and looks incredibly fast, doesn't it? However, it's his speed that caught people's attention and he also became the god of thieves... Also, in mythology, he is known as the inventor of the lyre, and the lyre played by Orpheus was made by Hermes. By the way, there is also a story that he rescued Io, who was captured by the hundred-eyed monster Argos.

Yukari Takeba (from now on "🌸"): Geez, why do I have to be saved by someone like Junpei!

🧢: Yu-Yukari-chan, don't just barge in! Oh, by the way, you like branded things, don't you? The luxury brand Hermes is also named after Hermes. Hehehehe.

But Hera found out about it, and Zeus turned Io into a cow to cover it up. That's why my Persona is in the shape of a cow. But the worst happened after that. Hera, who knew everything about Io, captured her, and had Argos, the hundred-eyed monster, watch over her so that Zeus wouldn't mess with her. She stayed in the shape of a cow!? Somehow, Hermes saved her, but then she was attacked by horseflies summoned by an angry Hera, and she ended up having to flee all the way to Egypt. By the way, it is said that this is the reason why horseflies still swarm cows even today. Anyway, after arriving in Egypt, Zeus apologized, Hera's anger was appeased, and Io married the Egyptian king and became queen. Even though it is a Love Arcana, isn't this a bit too chaotic?

Isis

🌸: I mentioned earlier that Io went to Egypt and became queen, and she is identified with Isis in Egyptian mythology. In Egypt, white cows are said to be messengers of the gods, but I wonder if they are linked to the legend of Io? However, the original Isis has nothing to do with cows, and in Egyptian mythology, the god Hathor is depicted as a god with cow horns. However, this was later absorbed as an attribute of Isis, so she may have become identified with Io in Greek mythology. By the way, Isis is Greek, and her real name in Egyptian is Aset. One day, Lucia experienced a miracle that healed her sick mother, and as a sign of her gratitude to God, she tried to distribute all her assets to the poor. She asked her fiancé, who was worried about this, for help, but he misunderstood that his assets were being scammed, and because Christianity was banned at the time, he reported Lucia to the authorities. However, Lucia would not give up. The authorities, who were encouraging her to convert, mobilized 1,000 soldiers to take her away, but she still refused to move. This is similar to my Persona awakening. In the end, she was executed on the spot, but even as her throat was slit, Lucia cried out, prophesying the end of Christian persecution and declaring that she would become the protector of Syracuse. Amazing. Because of the state of her final moments, Lucia is famous as a saint who heals throat ailments. Also, because her name represents "light," she is sometimes said to be the protector of glass makers and eye diseases.

Juno

🐰: Lucia's powered-up Persona, Juno, is the goddess who became the wife of Jupiter, the chief god of Roman mythology. She is also called Juno (written in Romaji), which is the origin of the word June, meaning June (written in Romaji). As the wife of the chief god, she is famous as the goddess of family and marriage, and brides who get married in June are highly praised and called "June brides" because Juno is the guardian deity of June. By the way, she may seem completely unrelated to Lucia before she awakened, but in fact, that is not the case. In addition to being the guardian of the family, Juno is also known as the guardian of childbirth, and in that case, she is called "Juno Lucia."

🤖: I would like to introduce my initial Persona, Palladion. Palladion is a god of inorganic matter, which is appropriate for a machine like me. Palladion is the statue of Athena worshipped by the Trojans in the Temple of Athena during the Trojan War, famous for the legend of the Trojan Horse. Some legends describe it as a simple treasure without a form, not a statue of a god, or it may refer to the fire or spirit of fire placed in the temple, but looking at the design of my Persona, it is appropriate to recognize it as a statue of Athena. It is said that the decisive factor in the defeat of Troy in the Trojan War was the loss of Palladion from the temple after the gates were opened by the trick of the wooden horse. It is a very scary story.

Athena

🤖: I was a mere inanimate object, just like Palladion in mythology, but by acquiring a little bit of humanness, my Persona Palladion changed into Athena. This Athena is well-known, so there is no need to explain. In Greek mythology, she is worshipped as the goddess of war and wisdom, and is also famous as the goddess of art, shipbuilding, and architecture. However, the story of her birth may not be well known. It is a rather spectacular story. Zeus impregnated a goddess named Metis, but it was predicted that the child would usurp Zeus' power. Fearing this, Zeus swallowed Metis. This alone is insane, but Zeus' headache would not go away, so he had another god smash his head with an axe. No matter how painful it was, it was a case of putting the cart before the horse. It is said that Athena, already grown and clad in armor, was born from her head. ...Even though it's a story from long ago, the plot seems a bit flawed.

Polydeuces

Akihiko Sanada (from now on "🥊"): My alter ego Polydeuces is also a god in Greek mythology. However, it may not be a very familiar name. However, if you are familiar with the constellations, you may know him as Pollux, the younger brother of Gemini. The only difference is that Pollux is the Latin reading and Polydeuces is the Greek reading. Born to the great god Zeus and King Psarotas' wife Leda, he inherited the immortal attribute of the gods and was said to have excelled in sword fighting and boxing. In mythology, Polydeuces is probably best known for his exploits as a member of the Argonaut expedition. There is also a story that when the Argonaut expedition visited Bebrix, he brilliantly defeated the king who challenged travelers to boxing matches and beat them to death. When the immortal Polydeuces lost his brother in battle, he lamented that he could not die as he was of divine blood, so he asked Zeus to turn him and his brother into constellations. It's a pretty touching story, isn't it?

Caesar

🥊: Caesar is Gaius Julius Caesar, a Roman soldier in the 1st century BC and a great politician. If you don't understand, try pronouncing the name in English. You've probably heard of Julius Caesar, haven't you? The name Caesar later came to mean "monarch," and it's a Persona that's suitable for the Emperor Arcana. There's no particular connection to Polydeuces before his awakening, and the design motif seems to be a giant robot. According to Soejima, the designer, it wasn't possible to realize it on screen, but it's actually a pretty large Persona. You can just imagine that the figure on his chest is about the same size as me. I would have loved to ride a giant Caesar and beat up shadows.

Penthesilea

Mitsuru Kirijo (from now on "👑"): First of all, there is something I want to say. My Persona's name is Penthesilea, never Pentelesia! I get annoyed when people mistake it for something else. Let's take this opportunity to make sure you remember it. Now, as with Aegis' Palladion, Penthesilea is also a character in the Trojan War. She is the queen of the Amazons, a nation of women who appear as reinforcements for the Trojan army. She makes a dashing appearance with 12 female warriors and ferociously corners the Greek army, but the outcome is decided when the hero Achilles joins the enemy camp. Penthesilea is killed in battle along with the 12 female soldiers. Immediately after she was defeated, Achilles mocked her corpse, but the moment he removed her helmet and saw her face, Achilles regretted defeating her. What a man! As an aside, it is said that Amazon women are skilled with bows, and that they cut off their right breast so that it would not get in the way when they were drawing their bows. There are traces of this event in the Persona design.

Artemisia

👑: It can be said that there are two origins for this beautiful name Artemisia. One is thought to be from Artemisia, Queen of Halcarynassus, a famous female warrior in history who completely defeated the Greek navy in the Persian Wars. Although she had no particular reason to fight herself, her natural strong desire for bravery led her to join the Greek expeditionary force of her own accord. I hate to say it, but she was quite a wild girl. The other origin is thought to come from the previously mentioned worship of Artemis (goddess of the hunt) in Penthesilea, and her role as a recipient of Artemis' powers. As the Amazons were a people of hunters, they were said to have worshipped the goddess Artemis. Incidentally, Artemis was also the goddess of the moon, and is sometimes identified with Diana in Roman mythology.

Nemesis

Ken Amada (from now on "👶"): My Persona is Nemesis. She is a goddess from Greek mythology. I'm a little embarrassed because I was shown in a shameful place in the main story, but she is the goddess of vengeance, which is the perfect fit for me. Moreover, in mythology, Nyx, the goddess of night, is said to be the mother of Nemesis. This is no joke, is it? However, in the original myth, Nemesis is not a human being's revenge against another human being, but a deification of something like divine punishment that a god gives to humans. Ah, but at that time, I was thinking about taking revenge on Aragaki-san, saying "This is divine punishment!", so I'm even more into it. I was young back then too... Yes, that's right, it seems that another side of Nemesis is that of a goddess who calms and heals the desire for revenge. Personally, I would like to take this interpretation. Kala-Nemi

👶: Kala-Nemi is the goddess Nemesis who has revealed her true power. It may be an unfamiliar name, but the planning staff boasted that "You probably won't even find her name if you search online!" She is a goddess who is only described in specialist books. She is an old goddess in Hinduism, and is also written as Kala-Nemi. The name is a little similar to Nemesis, isn't it? In fact, she is an old goddess whose name is the origin of the names of several other gods, including Nemesis in Greek mythology. Her name means "the outer wheel of the wheel of time" or "the outer wheel of the celestial sphere," and she is in charge of the reincarnation of time and karma. The planetarium-like shape of the Persona's Kala-Nemi was apparently inspired by the latter meaning. Another interpretation is that Kala means "black" (like the Kala of Daikokuten = Mahakala), and Nemi means "sacred place, sacred forest", and it seems that it can be taken as referring to the sacred place itself, the Black Forest. It seems quite difficult, isn't it?

Castor

Shinjiro Aragaki: Hey. I took a break from the main story, but I'm back for a bit. My Castor is the counterpart of Aki's Polydeuces. He's the older brother of Gemini, but unlike his brother, he didn't inherit the power of the gods. However, he was an expert horse rider, and the reason why my Persona is depicted riding a horse is because of that event. And there's one more thing, the sword stuck in the Persona's chest, there's a story about it that's not just someone else's story. One day, the brothers Castor and Polydeuces got into a fight with their cousins, Idas and Lynceus, over something trivial. But Castor was killed by a stone thrown by the other brother. But Polydeuces, who is immortal with the power of the gods, cannot die. That sword represented the fate of death that Castor held, and at the same time, it also hinted at my own fate of death.

Well, I'm glad Aki didn't take "Let's become a constellation together!" seriously.

Cerberus

Koromaru: Woof! Woof woof woof

Woof! Woof!

🤖: Well, Koromaru-san is very willing to talk, but since we are having difficulty communicating, I, Aigis, will act as interpreter. Cerberus-san is a famous monster in Greek mythology, as you know. It is generally known as a monster with three heads and a snake tail, but Hesiod's Theogony says that it has 50 heads. For now, just remember that it has a lot of heads. Born to Typhon and Echidna, he has a brother called Orthrus. He is also famous in the Megaten series. Unlike his older brother Cerberus-san, the younger brother Orthrus-san has two heads.

Medea

Chidori: I'm not good at talking a lot, but I'll try my best. Medea is the name of a princess of Colchis who appears in the Greek mythology of the Argo expedition. She is also a notorious witch in Greek mythology.

She fell in love with Jason, the leader of the Argonauts, who'd came to steal the Golden Fleece, the treasure of Colchis, and her life was a mess... Starting with her betraying her father and giving the fleece to Jason, she tore apart the limbs of her younger brother and threw them into the sea to throw off her pursuers (she escaped while her father was crying and picking up the limbs), used a trick to have King Pelias, who didn't want to hand over the throne to Jason, boiled to death by his own daughters, and when Jason's new wife lost interest in Medea, she burned her father to death... I feel relieved... but no, she did a lot of terrible things. She's a witch who is completely different from me, who is driven by her emotions, but the fact that she appears as a Persona means that we may have some similarities...

Hypnos

🤡: This is my Persona, Hypnos. In Greek mythology, he is depicted as the son of Nyx, the queen of the night, and I think he is a very fitting Persona for me. In mythology, he is known as the god of sleep, and at the time, sleep was thought to be close to death. That's why he is the son of Nyx and the brother of Thanatos.

By the way, the wing-like parts of my Persona's design are said to be based on the peripheral nerves. There is a theory that we sleep to relieve stress. In other words, the god of sleep is also the god of stress, so the nerves, which visually represent stress, were incorporated into the design. When you look at Hypnos with that in mind, don't you feel a tingling sensation in the corners of your heart?

Moros

💣: My Moros is also a god in mythology, the son of Nyx, just like Takaya's Hypnos. He's also called the god of karma, which is hard to understand, but he's in charge of things like fate. Also, there's that really bad leader of SEES, right? Thanatos, the god he uses, is also his brother. And why does he have such a mechanical appearance? Well, it's mostly because I'm a geek for machines. It also represents the fact that the fate of death is mechanical and unavoidable. See, it's pretty profound, isn't it?

In part yes because of the daphne thing, yes, but also, and far more primarily, because of Cassandra.

I could probably shout about this from the rooftops but long story short, Apollo was an utter *insert swear word of choice*

actually basically the w h o l e of his involvement in Troy, here and there, but I don't really mind about (his involvement with) Achilles or Patroclus so much, that's just a god defending his city, that's understandable.

Cassandra became a priestess of Apollo willingly, in some ways to escape the general pressure of being an *unmarried* princess of troy and the attention that being a single woman got her, so she turned to religion - always a good enough option for those situations, back then.

Then one night Apollo himself appeared to her.

obviously any dialogue is indefinite, but one can imagine (a girl who has just seen a statue come to life/a being appear and kiss now standing in front of a god. a literal god. and the god in question, who being a god and a son of zeus- arrogant, prideful, and used to getting precisely what he wants-)

then he kisses her. forcefully, without her consent or any warning. With that kiss he gives her the gift of prophecy. again, without her asking for it, without any warning. maybe he puts his hands somewhere, or tries to go further.

she pushes him off, or steps back, or pulls away- horrified, afraid. Even when hee was just kissing her she did. not. want. it. she tried to fight it then. but anything further- 'I made a vow' 'I don't want this' 'get away from me- I didn't want that' words to that effect, pick and choose.

he tells her, offended, slightly angry- 'I have given you the gift of prophesy' or something like that.

'I never asked for it, and if that is the price i don't want it- you can take it back' adjust the precise wording to your preference and chosen interpretation of the myth, but that's the sentiment -

'a gift from a god cannot be taken away'- apollo, scorned. remember he is a god. this mortal should be honoured at his touch, he might think. he is used to getting. his. way.

but rape is not typically his style, not against her explicit denial. oh, he could force her, he is a god after all, but why should he go near a girl who doesn't want him, when there are thousands who do?

she will not walk away unscathed though. she scorned Apollo himself, she turned down the sun. never mind that she is a princess of his city, never mind that she is/was his devoted priestess. he will make her pay. never mind that with the gift of prophecy the trojans could win any war in a heartbeat. he is petty. regardless of the city she will pay.

this time he curses her.

curses her to always be disbelieved.

whatever she says, no one will believe her.

and so she gets visions, prophesies. a gods gift cannot be taken away, remember?

her head splits open with the pain of the future in a mind not meant for such knowledge. she sees troy in flames. her brothers dead, their corpses dishonoured. her nephew, only a baby, thrown off the walls of the city. her father killed. her mother taken as a slave. a wooden horse filled with Greeks. the death of her city and her people.

apollo curses her with all of these visions

and whenever she tries to tell anyone. anyone. the slightest thing that could spare them, help them- the curse kicks in and she is called mad, disbelieved.

and she goes back to the temple because her own family think of her as insane, driven mad by the Greeks at their gates. the citizens, even wheen war rages, laugh at her any word, call it lies of a troubled mind, madness, mania even. back to the temple of the god who cursed her and gave her these terrible visions because she has nowhere left to go.

okay so uhhh just a disclaimer while i am a greek mythology enthusiast i am also not a reliable source AVSJA and i mostly like. stories from different sources and different interpretation. like when i see a myth i like to just take it and be weird abt it

my favorite example: icarus. from the main source, he's the son of dedalus and they got locked in his father's labyrinth, right. and dedalus made wax wings for icarus, and warned him to not get too close to the sun, otherwise the wings would melt. but icarus did it anyway, and fell into the sea

on the other side you have 2 icons for the sun: apollo, the god of sun and arts, and helios, the literal allegory for the sun, who rode the solar chariot every day (hence the rising and setting sun).

what drew icarus to fly too high was hubris, kind of the arrogation of mankind & its consequences (im rly dumbing it down bc i myself am dumb btw. and french so. words. excuses). but i like to involve apollo and/or helios in that, and to extrapolate a lot, often with the common trope of love (not necessarily romantic or sexual) between a deity and a mortal. ik a lot of people who are into mythology (especially in the spiritual sense, but not just them) hate the "fandomification" of myths but i personally like being silly about it and actually often draw parallels between (extrapolated) myths and ocs and/or characters. icarus/apollo/helios make me think of xiaoventher for example!!! so im 0% normal about them:)

anyway yeah the main point is that my enjoyment of greek myths is kind of surface-level, i could brainrot abt certain stories like narcissus and echo but i might start vibrating out of existence. also find hades and persephone to have an amazing story but it was slightly ruined by the comic lore olympus 💀

however a few funny things imo: hephaistos (not 100% sure that's his name in eng.....) was so ugly his own mother, hera, threw him off a cliff as an infant. zeus has to put him in his calf to let him kind of heal??? athena was also born fully grown and with her whole armor from zeus' HEAD. insanity

BUT YEAH IDK I LOVE IT but i also have a very bad memory so. i did get a whole class studying the gods 2 years ago tho, that was so cool. but i never read percy jackson 😔

tbh id say reading ovid's metamorphoses that's really good!! it's kind of an anthology with a shit ton of myths, and one of the most popular sources so i rly love it <333 and there's also the iliad and the odyssey for troy's war (with namely achilles, ajax etc) and odysseus' journey from troy to his wife and kid. it's kind of hard to read imo, but sort of the base material so ZBDJZN

poseidon's abuse towards percy is mostly sexual rather than physical and emotional like with his sons. other than that, he tends to manhandle her and grab her too hard, but still tries to be somewhat gentle as we've seen in previous chapters

and yes kymon knows what's happening to his mother. rape is a very normal thing to happen with the gods, and even marital rape isn't even considered a thing to them smh.

but kymon knows what happens to his mother every time she steps in to try and defend them from poseidon, he knows what happens when poseidon takes her to the bedroom and leaves them alone, he knows that they've been spared for this time and that the "punishment" has fallen onto their mother for daring to interrupt. she's basically offering herself up to poseidon every time in hopes to make him leave him and his brothers alone. back then, kymon didn't understand it, but now that he's older and realizes what's really happening and that there are times his mother doesn't actually want it...... well, it's just better to be numb. he'd rather feel nothing than feel pain and helplessness like when he was young.

as for thalassandros, he's a bitch 💀💀💀 he doesn't hate humans, but he definitely looks down on them and loves to go up there to terrorize ppl who go to sea and even eat them lmao. he thinks they taste yummy and his favorite "flavor" of human are the ones between ages 25-30 cuz they taste the best 😭 also prefers humans with more fat or muscles since "there's more for me to eat!" 😂😂 he's such a menace, i'm sorry percy 😂

also, i forgot to add, but you know how i mentioned that fish can lay 100s to even 1000s of eggs and how i'm incorporating it into here??? well, axiandros, kymon, and thalassandros are from the first 1000-ish batch of baby mer eggs obviously, but axiandros, then kymon, then thalassandros were the first to hatch and even hatched waaay earlier than expected compared to the other eggs. so they were actually raised closely together as babies for some time before the others were born 🥺🥺🥺🥺 they're like the Little Three (get it, cuz poseidon, zeus, and hades are the "Big Three" lmao) 🥺

AU Jegulus fic twist on Percy Jackson. Although I will say, none of them will be matching the actual seven like the parents will be different and will fit the characters like how I imagine they’d fit. Basically all I’m adding in is the marauders being demigods with a very VERY loose similarity to the seven💀

James would be Percy, but not the son of Poseidon. I mean this like, James is the one that would pull everyone together and make things go in motion, he’d be the one to challenge the gods because he recognizes that they’re shitty. His fatal flaw would be his loyalty (because it fucking was.) James is definitely the son of Apollo tho, I literally couldn’t make it any other way cause like James Potter is the Sun. But I do think Euphemia would be Sally and Fleamont would be Apollo but acts like Poseidon (ie simp for Sally) or Fleamont would be Paul because he’s stable and supportive. And I like Paul. Although, I think the Annabeth to his Percy would be (obvi) Regulus!

Regulus wouldn’t be the son of Athena, although he could be tbh, I see him more as a nico type variant. So, if SoAngelo was Percabeth basically 🫠 Regulus fits this vibe because he’s an emo boy who can’t swim. But also, because he’d definitely be the one to have trauma and a mixed up background. I think he’d still have Nico’s background and Sirius would act as Bianca, as in they both come from 1940’s Italian background and ended up in a fucking casino for years.

With that, I kinda see Remus as the son of Athena. He’d be the Annabeth in the planning and he’d be the one to make sure James’ dumbass stayed alive😂. I like the idea of making Peter be either a Satyr and friend like Grover or like Luke and be a friend turned enemy. Sirius would be the Thalia of the situation, mixed with a bit of Bianca (kinda?)

What I mean by that is that Sirius and Regulus would have different fathers but the same mom. They’d still be targeted but it’s because they’re the sons of Zeus and Hades respectively. I think this is because Sirius gives me electric vibes, he fits the son of Zeus. Regulus on the other hand is the dark one, the one that everyone kinda shuns a bit. So, in this setting, Sirius and Regulus wouldve both been hunted by Zeus in this AU (major reason why James has beef w Zeus) and Hades would’ve helped his son and sent them both to the casino to save them. But!! They get out earlier than in the series, they end up being lead out by one of the fates (ig??) because of the Great Prophecy that has James and Regulus as a key part, as well as our Luke variant, The Prophecy would be different because of this and because of my need to have fate force Starchaser to have a happy ending 🙃 anyway, so they get out and meet Remus, Barty (Luke) and Peter (Grover) on the way, right? So, ya know how that story goes. Only difference is that Remus and Peter are best friends and Remus had a crush on Sirius during their time spent together trying to find Camp Half-Blood. Then, right as they’re reaching the gates, the Cyclops comes and Sirius sacrifices himself for Regulus, this makes Zeus pissed because fuck that was his kid actually, so he turns him into a pine tree. Regulus ends up blaming himself for getting his brother killed and becomes a recluse tbh who only really talks to Barty. He doesn’t get claimed until James gets there and they end up getting claimed at the same time (prophecy things) which the first great prophecy would go something like this:

A half-blood of the eldest god

Shall reach sixteen against all odds,

And see the world in endless sleep.

Son of the Sun, his life and heart he shall keep,

The hero’s soul, cursed blade shall reap,

A single choice shall end his days

Olympus to preserve or raze.

I feel like changing it to the eldest god instead of gods would be limiting it to Hades and with the Son of the Sun, yeah. This would make Zeus and the rest of them change the oath to make it include Apollo (or it could be that they tried to make it just Apollo and Hades but no way in hell Hades would let that slide so celibacy for all four)

Regulus would start to warm up to James after he saved Sirius’ tree, which brought Sirius back to life. And I feel like James and Sirius would but heads a bit especially after Sirius learns that Regulus and James are the ones from the prophecy and Sirius wouldn’t like James at first because he’s scared that James could lead to his brothers death. This changes when Regulus is kidnapped in the Titans Curse. The Hunters would be hard to mix in ngl cause I could make them the girls but I also want the girls to play bigger parts to the story and I feel like the Hunt kinda doesn’t play that big of a part. Because of that, idk who to make Bianca cause Sirius isn’t dying after being brought back😀 I’m thinking we make Bianca be either Emmeline and have Mary blame James for not keeping her gf safe and then have her confide in Lily. Anyway, James stopping at nothing to save Regulus!! I also think James would be powerful as fuck because of this theory I have that the less children a god have = to more powerful kids idk why but it’s something I think ab a lot regarding the actual seven. James would have Photokinesis and Heliokinesis as well as a lot of the powers listed under the Apollo cabins power list (I can’t choose😭) although I mostly say this because I’m gonna hc that Euphemia is a demigod herself, or a legacy, she’s one of the few Greek ones that lived long enough to live semi peacefully in the moral world. Her godly parent is Hecate so that makes James hymns and magic in general just cranked up. It’s why he’s a major player in the war because he comes from an extremely powerful line of legacies (Potter is his mother last name and there’s been records of many, many of the family being demigods)(he doesn’t find this out until later) the Potters being descended from the Peverell brothers in the HP universe just always makes me think that the Potters have a lot more magical power than Rowling gave them so I’m gonna give that power to James in this au😄

James and Regulus holding the sky together!!!! This one is important to me, idk why, but it is. And their grey hair wouldn’t go away randomly in the series, it’d stay there! I feel like this moment would be when Regulus realizes he’s fallen for James because while he was taken, his faith that James would save him never wavers and that’s a big thing for him, that hope in another person, but it’s because he knows who James is. However, he never expects James to help him hold the sky. There’s a difference than simply going after a friend and going against a goddess’s warning (Artemis definitely told her nephew to not take the sky because she would rather her nephew be safe than anything) and shouldering the weight of the world for them. This is the moment he realizes he loves James. He doesn’t tell him, of course 🙄 James had loved regulus since the beginning, it never seemed like something he had to realize. Since the moment he came to the camp and Regulus’ dark grey eyes met James’ own amber colored ones, James knew he was meant to be there. James knew their entire lives were leading up to that moment. Of course, he’s also the son of Apollo and literally has prophecy related powers so he could probably feel the actual strings of fate that tied them together. Which is why he made it his mission to annoy Regulus into friendship on the first day. James doesn’t tell Regulus this until the Labyrinth, when Regulus gets jealous of flaming red hair and emerald green eyes that belong to Lily Evans, someone James felt a strange pull to (because she’s meant to be the oracle🤭) which leads to Regulus getting injured and James thanking his father for passing on his healing powers because he came tell Regulus how he feels in a intimate, cliche moment.

Which, this leads my man Regulus on a mission to find a way to protect James. Thus, he stumbles upon the Curse of Achilles and that whole plot plays out with the exception that James would only go through with it if Regulus did too. Except James wouldn’t choke Regulus like Percy did (even tho Percy was justified ngl) he’d def be heartbroken tho thinking his love had betrayed him, ofc he forgives him once Reggie explains. Once they both submerge into the river and come out again, they get visited by the three fates because ofc 🙄 and basically because they both were used the other to ground themselves to their human side, the fates decide to drop that one can’t live without the other. That should Regulus or James get stuck in their Achilles spot, they’d both die. (Son of the Sun, his heart and life he shall keep)

This would definitely lead to James and Barty fighting and Barty highkey bout to end it when Regulus interrupts with the, “Family, Barty. You promised.”

Then, once the war was over and they go back to camp half-blood, Regulus kisses James and admits to his love for him. And then, James goes missing and three new half-bloods turn up. James would only be able to remember Regulus and would be the one to get everyone on his side 🤣 Octavian would soooo be Snape. I feel like it’s funny asf because of how much Octavian hated Percy and it’s even better that James is the prophesied Son of Apollo and Snape is a legacy. He’d be so pissed that James’ powers are stronger 💀💀

Then Mark of Athena, I was gonna have Sirius and Remus fall instead of James and Regulus but I thought better of it because imagine Regulus seeing James snap in Tartarus. It freaking Regulus out to the point that he begs him never to do it again. ( either uses his plague and sickness power or sun powers to fuck up Akhlys)

Like I can so see that Regulus would save Remus from the web that was wrapped on his foot by manipulating the earth with his power, only to slip and fall into the hole which lead to James jumping to grab him and Sirius grabbing James. James would make Sirius promise to get the others to the other side. And then they’d fall. Regulus and James would cling to each other and James would so use his power to keep Regulus warm (he let it slip that he hates the underground because it makes him feel cold, like the dead)

Hm. None honestly, cuz I find killing Zeus to be a cop out lowkey. Like ofc kill him instead of letting him deal with the consequences, it's just boring and I don't think they'd..have the ability to do so 💀

And also..the only one who deserves to beat his ass out of that line up is ARES. Cuz Zeus treats him the worse, like Apollo, Hermes, Dionysus have no reason to fight Zeus cuz he treats them better and Hephaestus wouldn't want to deal with him at all.

Ares has every right to fight him but he wouldn't kill him, it wouldn't solve anything
