Guys, hear me out. Last night I had this insane dream where Galadriel and Sauron somehow got transported to our world, in the present day, but with all their normal modern human and their Middle-earth memories intact. I think this can be a really fun AU fanfic 😭

So, in this world, Galadriel(her modern name is not Galadriel btw) is a 20y.o something fresh graduate looking for a job, she still has both her memories from Middle-earth and modern world after she 'transported' herself from Valinor out of boredom. The same thing happens to Sauron, he has all his memories intact just like Gal. Things get spicy when Galadriel ends up applying for a job at Sauron’s company where he's the director. He’s reviewing applications for fun and spots one that stands out the most, her name might be different, but the resemblance from the picture is uncanny. Naturally, he sets up a personal interview to see if it’s really her.

Galadriel, confused because she had both her memories of Middle-earth and modern time at the same time, she’s confused, but since her current memories tell her she’s supposed to be job-hunting, she shows up to the interview anyway. It’s some kind of corporate lawyer gig (can’t remember exactly), but when she sees the interviewer, she’s stunned. Sitting across from her is none other than Sauron, the man she despised, longed, and the last person she wanted to see in her new life, except this Sauron looking man is sporting a modern look, short hair, Halbrand but very clean, and all that. Galadriel has to keep her cool and act like she has no idea who he is, all while trying not to blow her cover.

Anyway, Sauron calmly interviews Galadriel, who is stumbling a bit as she talks. In reality, Sauron knows exactly who the woman in front of him is, but he chooses not to reveal his identity (again), because there's a chance this woman might not be the Galadriel he once knew and longed for, so he obviously accepted her to the company with no hesitation.

Now, here’s the twist: While it’s Galadriel’s first time living in the modern world, it’s not for Sauron. He’s been stuck here for ages after THE one ring is destroyed. After countless failed attempts to return to Middle-earth, dying a bunch of times, and realizing world domination doesn’t really work in the 20 something century, he’s settled for just trying to blend in. But now that Galadriel has shown up, his heart is beating out of his chest (damn these weak mortal bodies!). He’s determined not to mess this up and is even entertaining the idea of a intimate relationship with her. This time, he’s not going to let her slip away even if he’s not sure if this version of her is the real deal.

Of course, both of them try to act like they don’t remember Middle-earth and this modern world is where they belong. But it’s harder than it seems, especially since Sauron still has some power over Galadriel at their workplace. Eventually, Galadriel gets so frustrated and accidentally blurts out something in Sindarin (oops). That’s when Sauron realizes she’s the one and only Galadriel of Lorien, and he’s beyond ecstatic. Finally, he’s not alone in this strange world anymore yayy.

Naturally, Sauron being Sauron, he starts getting possessive, and maybe a little obsessed. He even follows her home after work (yes, YOU style). He watches her closely at the office, keeps an eye on her at home, and tries to keep her around by piling on extra work. He’s trying to show his “affection,” but let’s be honest, it’s still kinda creepy. He tones down his sadistic and creepy side a bit though. Meanwhile, Galadriel is all mixed up. Deep down, she still has feelings for Halbrand, and she’s always fantasizing about him turning to the good side. But after seeing how much this Sauron’s attitude has changed, she starts to soften.

Their relationship gets intimate, to the point where Galadriel invites Sauron over for dinner at her place. But honestly before this, she was already suspicious of him and kept testing whether he was really Sauron or not right here in her flat. Sauron, however, plays it cool and convinces her that he’s just an ordinary harmless corporate slave in this world.

After dinner, they’re chilling on the couch, watching TV. Galadriel, exhausted from cooking, falls asleep on Sauron's thigh. While she’s asleep, Sauron starts stroking her hair and whispers, “For thousands of years, i searched for you and waited for you. I can’t believe you’re actually here, with your face, your body, your beauty that never changed. Don’t ever leave me again Galadriel.” He says it all in Black Speech, for no reason.

What Sauron doesn’t know is that Galadriel is only half-asleep. She hears everything and is freaked out but also thought that maybe what Sauron said was just part of a dream, since she was only half-conscious. She tries to stay calm and pretends to still be sleeping. The next morning, Sauron is gone as expected and Gal heads to work as usual but starts watching Sauron closely, spying on him to see if anything is off. For weeks, nothing happens. No weird behavior, no red flags.

Finally, she decides to invite him over again to see if he’s really Sauron. She uses the excuse of wanting to cook dinner again, because she had found a new recipe (Sauron and Galadriel often talked about food, since they both turned out to be big fans of cooking and trying new cuisines). but she’s secretly planning to confirm once and for all if this man is the Dark Lord himself.

After that, things in my dream got blurry, as they often do, but the gist of it is that during their second dinner, Galadriel invited Sauron to cook together. She was keeping a close eye on him the whole time, especially when he was chopping the ingredients. And of course, Sauron, with his usual expertise, sliced everything perfectly. It wasn’t enough to confirm anything for Galadriel, but there was a moment when he sharpened the knife using a technique she knew wasn’t from this era. That’s when she finally decided to say something.

“You know, there was someone i once trusted deeply, his knifing skill is legendary, and i admired him a lot, but he betrayed me… and basically everyone i cared about,” Galadriel said gloomly.

Sauron replied, “Oh? What did he do? Can you tell me more about him?”

“He did too many things for me to explain in just one dinner, but for short, he's a megalomaniac asshole. Oh, and also he had many names,” Galadriel added.

Sauron gave a small smile when she mentioned that the person from her past had many names, but also pissed she called him a megalomaniac asshole

“Tell me one of them. I’d like to know why he had so many names,” Sauron asked.

“I… don’t want to remember him. I’m happy with my life now, haha,” Galadriel replied, brushing it off with a laugh.

In that moment, Sauron could only stare at Galadriel as she focused on the meal she was preparing. Inside, he was wrestling with his emotions, he desperately wanted to tell her that he was the one she despised, the very being she had trusted and then lost. He longed for her to love him for who he truly was, not the shadow of his past nor the suave of a man he is right now. This was the first time Sauron felt genuine fear creeping in.

Fear of rejection. Fear of his identity being exposed. And fear that the deep longing he felt for her might never be returned. As he watched her stirring the vegetables, the walls he had built around his heart began to crumble, revealing a vulnerability he hadn’t faced in centuries. Would she ever see him as more than the monster he once was?

After that, things started to get jumbled in my dream, and I could only recall bits and pieces of what happened next. I guess you can let your wild imagination take over for the rest.

Honestly, in this dream, Sauron was pretty creepy. At one point, he even sneaked into Galadriel’s room while she was away and began sniffing her bed and clothes. It’s almost like Sauron was tapping into that possessive side of him, getting a little too carried away with his feelings for her. Maybe this is just who he is deep down, haha!

This has all the makings of a chaotic, toxic, fun AU with a mix of modern world absurdity, supernatural tension, and romance ofc. What do you think?

miscellaneous meta lore question for OM this time!!

also I need you to know that I can't spell miscellaneous. every single time I have and will type it have been autocorrected it's like my worst enemy

Anyways- prelude time.

Other Magic is like so much fun because of the sheer variety of mythos and magic you incorporate into it. I mean; Alya is a twist on Selkies which have always been one of my favourite scottish folklore stories, there’s this one story about a boy who was a selkie that I read when I was way younger but I cannae remember enough details to find it again. Then you’ve got someone like Kagami who is a Nekomata from Japanese folklore which was super interesting to see and then subsequently do more research on, cause I didn't know they existed before that which was a failure on my part. And then you’ve got the more miscellaneous monsters of vaguely european origins which also fit the specific character themes wonderfully, like Juleka being a Vampire, Nino being a Gargoyle (which btw rocks (pun intended) for the whole protection thing he has going on) and Sabrina being a changeling the list goes on.

I honestly can’t tell if you’re just really good at finding the perfect fit or just such an excellent writer that what you chose feels like the perfect fit for your version of the characters. Probably a bit of both. 

Obviously you know all this, you’re the one who wrote it. What I’m getting at is; how the fuck did you decide how the magic system works?

Is it, like, not a concrete thing? Do you make it up as you go along?

Or do you have a proper magic system in place that fits behind all the crazy variety of sources you’ve pulled the monsters from?

If you make it up as you go along, what are some of the things you have decided are like hard rules of magic? (which do not go into spoiler territory! Perish the thought that I am vying for spoilers. Your response about how time worked in the PN universe without veering into spoiler territory was fantastic. and I'm insane about your drawings of Alix.) 

And if you don’t… how the fuck have you got a system in place for all this? Is it a hard magic system or a soft magic system? Please I beg of thee tell me how it works. 

Deciding on magic systems for things is the bane of my existence. Pokemon types and moves even count as one, so don’t get me started on how crazy insane I’ve gone for the origins of magic and how it works for the planning of my own miraculous fic is. like I need to stop. 

Anyway. The point is. Every single time you introduce a characters monstrous side you inevitably have to explain how that works in relation to the other magic (pun intended) and the fact that you’ve managed that without contradicting yourself or making things seem far fetched or shoe horned in has me clawing at the walls in my cage. Are you a magician. seriously, how did you do it.  

That and I’m curious if you’ll get more into how Miraculous magic affects regular magic (that feels like an oxymoron, as if magic could be normal). Cause obviously we got Little Red and Wicked Witch being akumatised together cause they were both holding the glove, but their closeness even while evilised felt like it was because of the familiar bond. 

This is a super broad question sorry if that’ll be difficult to answer!! however observations and notes on things plus hyper specific questions are coming soon! I simply must organise myself. (and have my 18th birthday tomorrow… so soon may be later than expected, i keep forgetting that’s happening this has changed my plans significantly. fuck)

Magic systems are pretty tough!! I originally made it up as a I went along, but what I did then that I feel like was important was- instead of just doing things and saying they were related, I tried to branch out the system by asking lots of "why" and "how" questions with myself.

So, for example with Alix, my base was; "Wouldnt it be cool if she wrote down spells like Luz and the Kane Chronicals" which is kinda lame. But still, I worked to try and clean it up. "Spells and Runes are like Code commands to magic." became the cleaner base. Then I asked; "Why not just use a wand?" So I asked myself "What makes wands different?" and so on.

I then asked myself if the answers I made could connect and become answers for other things. Which creates an interconnecting system.

Making it up as you go along is natural and inevitable, the only difference between planning and making it up is how long you think about it without touching your keyboard. I asked myself my big magic questions because of points in the story where I had no idea how something worked and instead of trying to fit it with what I originally knew, I tried to figure out how things would accomodate the new thing.

Concept : Reader is a shrine priestess and have a crush on the shrine priest. But he is so powerful that people made a contract with the snake demon. They let him eat the priest in exchange for not attacking the village. The priest tried to fight the snake, but he was defeated. The villagers cut off his arms, so the snake can eat him better. Reader tried to save him, but was locked away in the shrine. But the priest cursed the village and his fused with the snake making him a snake monster he killed all the villagers and cut off six arms to replace those he lost. —a/n: alright, i’ll bite and do this one with my own take, but please add the source behind such suggestions next time lol this one is originally from the compilation manga ive read forever ago, Hachishaku Hachiwa Keraku Meguri (TW!!! under-age, noncon, horror, extremely dead dove!!!), specifically the 4th story. i…don’t recommend reading every story btw, some of them are very…yikes, but the 4th one is pretty good if you can get past a certain issue (namely, the mc’s vague age range). the main difference is that the monster is a woman and mc’s a guy.

if you want my personal recs, stick with reading 3rd (the statues, is okay), 4th (6-armed snake lady, fave if only because of the monster’s beautiful design and backstory but wished the mc would be someone older), and 5th (swamp-worm monster in the forest, warning, pregnancy/birthing is involved, is okay) story and ignore the rest. 2nd (the monster on the road) is okay, actually, but i hated the monster’s creepy old man design lol rest is just a big fat no to me for various reasons.

anyway….i rambled enough. i think…i might actually keep this character, even if he isn't entirely original and is (almost) literally the genderbent version from the manga. i actually envisioned him with dark-colored skin though. hm, so the setting might even be different! i’ll let yall decide~enjoy!

You can hear the screaming in your ears, the horrible gut-wrenching shrieks heralding the arrival of death. The earth rumbled distantly beneath your feet, striking unspeakable fear in your cold veins, pounding your heart, and your empty stomach twisting with nausea. You shuddered and your voice came out weak, dehydrated, “N-no…”

Raking your throbbing nails down the wood, bloody raw from scratching and pounding on the chained door, you fell to your knees and bowed your head. You’ve warned them, that the demon would not accept the trade—or that the priest wouldn’t retaliate in some way. A choke erupted from your dusty throat at the vision of the priest you cherished so, so much flashed within your mind.

His warming smile and the crinkles in the corners of his eyes, had transformed into something wrathful and malicious. His expression became one that spoke of murder, of dark, malevolent intent, as the hateful village men severed his arms and fed him into the yawning mouth of the snake-god. It wasn’t his cruel fate that had broken your heart and shattered it into pieces though.

The very moment before he disappeared into the slicked depth of the demon’s belly, the priest saw you and wore a horrified face. With blood tears running down his eyes, he interrupted his furious cursing with a soft whisper of your name. You remembered screaming through your tears and fighting against the fisted hands of burly men then, when the snake-god folded its mouth shut and swallowed him whole.

That was the last you’d seen of him and wept his name as the men dragged you from the forest clearing, satisfied that you were too weak to save the one they all feared.  

He shouldn’t have died fearing for you.

As they’d thrown you into the dilapidated shrine, you were numbed with fury and sorrow and shouted that the demon would hunger for their flesh once more, that the priest had cursed them all, when they slammed the door shut and leave you for the dead. Your pleas and cries grew hoarse as you screamed your grief to the sky. There was no reply, only jeers from the village in the distance, as if laughing about your foolishness, that you shouldn’t have fallen in love with the priest.

Their cruelty was beyond your comprehension

You had no idea how long time had passed, there was no light in this rotting shrine, not even a single peek of any warm sunlight or the moon’s soft glow. There was no water, for your throat ran dry and your skin tightened on your bones, and there was no food as your stomach stopped rumbling some time ago. The villagers intended to let you die alone, pitifully and bitterly alone.

It could’ve been days, it could’ve been weeks, when you rose your head from the coarse ground, confused.  Weakly, your hand reached towards the wooden door, and your calloused fingers traced around its edges, feeling along the rough surface and finding the raw marks you left behind, until they settled on a crook. Something familiar electrified the air, the sense of power pressed into your senses. You furrowed your brows—before fear sunk in your nerves once more.

The demon had returned to welt its hunger.

Screams followed and you remained in the shrine, with no more tears to shed. You couldn’t weep for the cruel men and your tongue was too dry for you to utter even a single prayer for the innocent children you once tended to. You bowed your head between your knees, but you were still alive.

You still knew fear, trembling with the desire to live.

Your hands were shaking wildly, but you forced them back into prayer as the screams continued unabated. The walls rattled with thunderous crashes. Louder and louder, until finally, after hours of agony, they stopped. Silence followed.

Only silence and the smell of blood, lingered. And an ominous feeling.

You slowly rose from your hunched position, your gaze fixed on the wooden door. The air had turned heavy with tension, and the hairs on the back of your neck stood on end. Something approached, quietly grinding the pebbles and dirt underfoot as it moved closer and closer.

Somehow, the walls started swaying and the sound of cracking timber reached your ears, rising above the deafening sounds of your heartbeats and your shuddering breathing. You clasped your hands into a prayer once more and begged the gods to answer, to spare you from the belly of the snake-god. Your prayers became desperate begging, for mercy.

As if in response to your prayer, the ceiling creaked and groaned and a low growl emanated from above. Your eyes widened, and you stumbled backward, barely catching yourself on a nearby pillar. The walls rumbled, and cracks began appearing along the floorboards.

Then, the light.

It cut into the pitch-black darkness you’d been trapped in for days and blinded you. Clasping your hands over your eyes, wincing in discomfort as if light burned you, something exploded overhead, shattering the roof tiles and raining tiny chunks onto your head. You flinched at the loud noise, shielding your face and ducking your head between your legs from any further danger.

As the crackling groan quietened, you remained still—half expecting the pain to cut into your skin and long teeth tearing into your brittle flesh. But, silence hangs thickly above into the air. As if in waiting for you to unveil your eyes to the world.

You hesitated, before slowly lifting your head, squinting and blinking against the light. When you adjusted to the brightness, you blinked and saw shadows. Shadows cast by a massive serpentine being coiling amidst the splinters and rocks littering the ground all around you, staring down at you with glowing golden eyes.

Your breath caught in your throat and you staggered forward, your arms reaching above your head, “—! You…you came back…?” Your words broke and dissolved into hiccupping sobs that shook your frail frame.

Long discolored arms distended from the being’s side, wrapping around you in a dangerous embrace. The priest’s pale face buried into the crook between your neck and shoulder, nuzzling into your dirt-caked hair and releasing a deep purr. Its body vibrated and you felt yourself being lifted from the ground. Your arms instinctively snaked themselves tighter around its thin neck, your cheek pressing against its strangely scaled skin, and you squeezed your eyes tightly shut. “Don’t leave me…please don’t leave me again…” You cried, with rivers of tears falling down your cheeks.

Tears you thought were completely dried out.

This was not the priest you remembered, his ashen body protruding from the mouth of the dead-eyed snake-god, his grin jarring with a smile too large for his handsome face, and having a few arms too many stitched to his sides. But as his fiery golden eyes warmed and his touches overly gentle on your skin, you knew. This was the same man you loved, the very man who never ceased to cherish you and always looked for ways to make you smile on bad days. Even after all this time. Even when everything else changed, he remained steadfast, loving, and kind.

—though, only to you, as he held you as if you were the most precious jewel in his world. Despite his loving gaze, he was dressed in the blood and guts of those he’d gleefully slaughtered for their slights against him, glimmering on his eternally long tail in the moonlight. Yes, he gripped your tiny body tighter to his emaciated body, all he’ll ever need is you.

This makes this the greatest opportunity to talk about how much I despise him in S4, and how this version of Eren (the one in this art) is whom I would fully prefer.

First, I was never the type of person who disliked Eren from the start: it’s understandable for him to be so hot tempered because he literally watched his mom get eaten right in front of him. I admired his determination to become a scout and fur fill his dream to see the outside world with his closest friends.

Surely he’s not perfect either, for he does come off as whiny and naive in the beginning, but in the next two seasons I can really feel his growth especially after Historia knocked some sense back into him. I was really rooting for him and the others to achieve their goals in the end…

But that’s when everything went downhill as soon as he found out about Marley. It’s like he became a completely different person, like unrecognisable, and does things I thought he would never do!

Greatest anime protagonist of all time?! Please. What’s there to like about an emotionless, cold-hearted and unwatchable piece of sh*t who’s a shell of his former self? Yes, I wanted to see Eren’s character develops further, but not like this. He’s not Light Yagami and he’s not Lelouch Vi Britannia either.

(btw I’m guessing Isayama wanted to do a Code Geass like ending only not nearly as good)

Finally, if he saw memories of his actions in the future, than why didn’t he… I don’t know, TELL ANY OF HIS FRIENDS ABOUT IT?! Surely he trusts Mikasa and Armin enough to understand him, he’s known them for years and they’d do anything to help him. Right? Or did kissing Historia’s hand really messed up his way of thinking? And don’t even get me STARTED on the whole truth behind his mother’s death ‘cause it was the stupidest ‘plot twist’ in the whole story!

(I’m not a fan of ‘set in stone’ time travel stories)

In conclusion, this birthday art is dedicated to the old Eren who was determined in his dream and kind to his friends and what things could’ve been if kept those qualities of himself and still stayed motivated to free the world from their enemies.

Okay, @harmonyjade, I accidentally deleted your ask because sometimes I am spacey like that. But I remember the ask, so here's the answer. 

The ask was about why Gaara doesn't get the same kind of hate Sasuke does when Gaara has also committed murders in cold blood. He also attempted to kill Naruto and other Konohabitants. Gaara also half suggested to Naruto to ‘do what's best for Sasuke’, and that he should know what Sasuke must be going through. 

Yeah, that's a valid query.

Problem is, irrespective of what Gaara did or didn't do to Naruto and others, certain stans would still hate Sasuke. And Gaara was a cold mother***ker, especially in chuunin exams arc. Which I loved btw, so metal.  

Most of these Anti Sasuke stans are basically Naruto stans who don’t have a very clear understanding of the story. They feel like whatever makes the littlest inconvenience to Naruto’s character, or whoever challenges or confronts Naruto, is a negative character. The nuances of these complex characters bounce over their heads. They are only in it for the hero and his love interest and maybe some comedy and fight scenes. Anything more layered doesn't register on their radar.

It's understandable that fans would sympathize with Naruto’s character, because he is positioned as the likeable and funny underdog in the manga. Logically, any character that appears as his rival or enemy or antagonist, would be disliked by fans. 

Gaara, like other antagonists, was always narratively positioned as a major character who would affect Naruto’s arc in a major way. BTW, on a side note, I always find it a little triggering that some fans ridicule Naruto as having some twisted version of savior/Jesus complex, but it's simply not true. Because every single confrontation that Naruto has with major antagonists brings a change in both Naruto and the antagonist and not just the antagonist. Naruto is an underdog, an empath. People call him selfish and what not, but it's really their misinterpretation or projection on Sasuke. Naruto never came off as an entitled asshole who did whatever he felt like irrespective of how others felt about it. He wasn't written to be that way. The plot is designed mindfully to evoke empathy in the reader for Naruto’s character, so the reader can potentially root for him. Some fans criticise him for this because they love Sasuke, but all of it is just projection. Naruto’s confrontation with Gaara brought about Gaara’s resolution and it made Naruto evolve emotionally as well. His understanding of good vs bad evolves and becomes much more inclusive. Naruto always learns from his opponents. He was never portrayed as some God type who will step on the stage, deliver a sermon like a boss and then swish away on a holy cloud having enlightened his herd. No. Naruto gets emotional, he invests in people, he learns from their lives, he applies it in his understanding of the world and himself, which contributes to his arc and the plot. It's a two way street. Whether it be Gaara, Neji, Nagato, Obito, or Zabuza, Naruto always came out having learned major lessons from his confrontation with them which would build his character further.    

Gaara was someone who was in a similar predicament as Naruto, but both went about it in different ways, informed by their own specific set of circumstances. Naruto had Iruka, Gaara had no one. But Naruto got Iruka’s support much later, he was already 12. And yet, Naruto grew to empathize with Gaara and absolutely raged at anyone who caused Gaara anguish. 

Gaara resonated with Sasuke first though, not with Naruto. Just like Sasuke, Gaara also had a traumatizing childhood which defined his life and goals. Difference is, Gaara got his resolution much sooner than Sasuke. Sasuke’s character is of the anti hero, only second to the hero priority-wise. His arc was always supposed to be for the long haul, which is why his resolution came all the way at the end. Gaara’s resolution came in part one after the chuunin arc itself. So any antipathy that the reader felt with Gaara’s character got resolved after Gaara gave in to Naruto’s efforts.

Fans who hate Sasuke feel that he takes focus away from the hero Naruto, someone who is written to be super likeable. Gaara never took focus away from Naruto, even though he is a major character in his own right. Instead, he only helped intensify the focus on Naruto’s journey and character development. In part two, Gaara has already become a full fledged Naruto supporter, so his positioning now appears as Naruto’s ally, just like Naruto’s other allies. And this mollifies the readers’ impression of Gaara. Additionally, his contribution to the war efforts reinforced his position as Naruto’s supporter and defender. He was the one who stressed on protecting Naruto AT ALL COSTS, and commandeered the entire army to do just that. So obviously Naruto stans love him. I do too. He also has the balls to confront Naruto and tell him off when he thinks Naruto is making a bad decision, so he doesn’t appear subservient as others do. He treats Naruto as an equal for all means and purposes even though he is devoted to Naruto wholeheartedly. However, his arc depends on Naruto’s character. But Sasuke’s arc is mostly his own (if not all), separated from the hero’s.

Naruto stans who hate Sasuke hate him for all the wrong reasons, dumb reasons, non reasons, as in their reasons are all in their heads. Some fans feel so comfortable dismissing or ignoring Sasuke’s circumstance because they look at him through hateful lenses and cannot be open minded enough to look at it objectively. How exactly do they want a victim of genocide and corruption to react? Be submissive? Complacent? Be a coward? Dumb? Laugh it off? Oh hahaha, what? A genocide happened? So many people were killed off brutally in their sleep? Sasuke was made to see all the graphic details of the genocide over and over again as an 8 year old by his own brother? Giggles, what fun! Every Saturday night should be like this! Lol. 

That was never his positioning, in part two, Sasuke was always supposed to be an agent of change, a revolutionary, his character and arc were designed that way. That was his path to self discovery, separate from Naruto. Some fans are just bitter because Sasuke gets a lot of footage and takes focus away from Naruto, others resent him for more personal reasons (but of course would never readily admit it) because he is cool, popular, self assured, and gets all the girls, something which they don’t and wish they could. Yeah, I know, shallow af. The fact that Sasuke is super skilled and almost as strong as Naruto the hero, bothers these fans who only watch the entire show projecting on Naruto. They also think Naruto is straight, so it bothers them to see Naruto obsessing over Sasuke, because they don’t think Sasuke deserves it. Needless to say, they have a poor understanding of both Naruto and Sasuke. They simply don’t like that Naruto gives so much importance to Sasuke, they think he should give it to someone who apparently cares for him and deserves it. Like Sakura or Hinata. Lol. Like i said, poor comprehension. 

Anyway, in conclusion, these fans would hate Sasuke regardless of how other characters treated Naruto. I mean, these fans would whine - Oh but Sasuke killed Manda waaaah, or Sasuke killed Iron country’s samurais waaaah. He tried to kill Naruto waaah but Naruto still saved him, he shouldn't have waaaah, it’s not patriotic waaah. My comprehension may be shit but idc, Sasuke is evil and he deserves to die waaaah.

Godzilla: Minus One Short Rant

AHHHHH I FINALLY WATCHED GODZILLA: MINUS ONE ON NETFLIX AND IT WAS GREAT!!!!! I’ve been wanting to watch it for a good while now. Some spoilers below btw, just gonna do a short rant so I can go back to my crochet practice—

The found family dynamic between Koichi, Noriko, and Aikiko was so wholesome and adorable. I love how Noriko just finds him on the streets, says “Here, take this kid” and runs off with the police after her. Then she comes back and crashes at Koichi’s place and he’s just like “What the heck, this is MY house??” And then they end up becoming an unlikely family throughout the film and it’s just ✨chef’s kiss.✨ Found family is my favorite dynamic, I loved it in this film. Well, it’s more of “these two end up falling for each other + an adopted daughter they both raised” but same thing kinda.

And Goji looks super spooky this movie. Like, he’s genuinely kinda creepy to me. Still find him adorable, but I find 99% of monsters cute in general, so that’s just a me problem and not a design problem. I do love the contrast between the Japanese Godzilla which focuses on him being a horrific force of nature that is supposed to show humans the results of tampering with what they shouldn’t, vs. Americas/Legendary’s Godzilla who is more of an action hero who helps protect the world.

And in my personal opinion:

I love both versions of Godzilla. Either it’s a heart-wrenching story centered around survivor’s guilt or “big lizard fights big monke” and I’m here for it.

Also, Koichi’s survivor’s guilt in general is such a big gut-punch. He carries that guilt with him for years and doesn’t believe he should ever be happy. I’m definitely glad he got a happy ending though, he’s been through a LOT. It’s also been a bit since I’ve watched a more serious film (I watch a lot of kid’s movies okay).

I feel like this movie was written well too, it’s got plenty of action points to break up the story to hold audience’s attention. It focuses more on the story and characters than the action or monsters, which is fine. It just takes some getting used to given I’m more used to faster paced action films. A slower pace doesn’t make it bad though, as I said.

And that opening scene was an AMAZING hook. It definitely pulls you into the horror aspect of the film. I really enjoyed the first shot of Zilla specifically from a cinematography and lighting standpoint. It just makes me happy for some reason. In fact, so many of the action scenes in this film are so goood. Specifically when flaming ships or trains are yeeted through the air and crash into buildings.

Goji’s design took some getting used to as well, mostly because I was introduced to the Godzilla franchise through Legendary’s Godzilla. I love how angry and somewhat grotesque he looks. I think he’s still the twisted result of radiation if I remember correctly? I don’t know if his backstory in this was different or not.

And for the fans who have seen the older Japanese films, has Godzilla always been able to regenerate? He literally takes a bomb to the face and goes:

And I love love LOVE the way Godzilla powers up his atomic breath. The way his spines slowly extend and begin to glow was eye candy.

So yeah, I really really enjoyed this movie. It’s a more serious, horror-esque film than what I’m used to in this franchise, but it was great. Now I should watch Shin Godzilla and Godzilla ‘54 because those are also a more serious take on it, and I’m working on seeing all of the films after all. :)

Also I was going to riot if Koichi or Noriko had died at the end… At least Goji isn’t dead though, he’s just taking a snooze at the bottom of the ocean. Wonder what he’ll do when he wakes up. 🤷‍♀️

Probably be cranky again.

SO, THOUGHTS! THOUGHTS ABOUT THE MOVIE I WAS WAITING FOR SO LONG TO WATCH, believing i’d never watch it that fast like happened lol.

First of all, I’ll assure EVERYONE who’s afraid of the Brazilian dub of the movie that the dub of it is not like that PV and i was right – the final dub is way better and incredible! I loved them all, all of them.

(Thoughts ahead -- spoiler-free btw)

The new voices for Davis, TK, Kari and Wormmon are WONDERFUL! Davis is very much like he used to be in the original dub, but older. I was curious if he would sound goofy like Davis in the series’ dub or like in the Japanese version. Well, the voice is perfect for the character, he sounded pretty fun and I’m glad they picked someone who nailed this role wonderfully. I think the new Kari is also okay, and i’m glad the legacy of the late OG BR dub TK’s voice actor is in good hands now.

As for Lui… He got not one, not two but THREE voice actors. And the adult one is one of my fave VAs… who also dubs Adrien/Cat Noir. So yeah, it was interesting. I don’t think he was unfitting or weird, but I think no one can beat the highest bar that is casting Ogata Megumi as him. Again, i love his BR VA! It’s just i think if you see someone saying something like “it’s weird” be aware it’s because there’s a very very HIGH bar here to surpass. And i don’t think the purpose was to beat it. So I’m here like “I love both VAs equally.”

Ukkomon’s is very good too, his voice is very sweet and soothing? smooth? idk how to describe it now. I’m glad we had amazing VAs in this movie, and i totally recommend watching it dubbed too if you want to!

As for the OG cast returning… GDI I WAS FULL OF HEART EYES AT YOLEI’S VA RETURN – I’VE BEEN ALWAYS DREAMING WITH A DUB OF A NEW MOVIE WITH HER IN IT. Like, I've been a real fan of this lady since i was a kid!! SHE VOICED SUPER PIG/CASSIE c’mon!! And also Yolei in the OG dub is so bright and energetic and now adult Yolei’s voice is so… soo… [chef kiss] Like gdi man! I’d watch this movie again and dubbed again and again and again AND AGAIN because of her! (oh and the rest of the cast too!!)

But you might understand my peak curiosity was about Cody. Because if you don’t know… Cody in the BR dub of the series was voiced by a KID! Yeah, it was a kid! And when i saw that he was returning… I was like “WOW THAT THE NATURAL GROWTH HERE!?” It’s fantastic witnessing a young VA returning to this role, as an adult! And Cody is an adult (ok almost) in the movie too!! I’m so shook about this!!

And then Ken. Ngl i think Ken sounded like an adult after the Kaiser arc in-series. His VA suited pretty well for the Kaiser role though. I like him okay, don’t get me wrong!! And I’m not surprised that his voice also sounded exactly like the OG series LOL Which means… yeah, i think it fits Ken-chan now haha (pls forgive me, sir… I’m glad you came back to voice our beloved Kenzinho orz)

The digimon made me nostalgic as well – all the main 5 returned, also the voices for Angewomon and Stingmon too (yeah, they were voiced by different peeps here) – I know they didn’t talk too much but man… I’m happy with them all. I’M HAPPY OKAYY!?

Ok. About the MOVIE itself… Its pacing is much better than Kizuna’s. I think this movie is the kind to not hold many surprises to the audience – you get big warnings when something is going to get bad and creepy. Like, A LOT OF RED FLAGS by the music, coloring and especially by the animation. The movie is PRETTY STRAIGHTFORWARD. Yes, something that’s very rare to happen in Adventure/02 material. This movie is simple to understand, there’s no big plot twists that could catch you off surprise. You see things coming. And yet, it hits you hard in the feels. Also the scenes are well placed too.

And if you think there’s no battle… Uh, there’s some sort of a battle yeah, so it can be a mandatory digimon movie. Also i’m still laughing internally about the faux padding effect this movie has with the evolution animations. It felt as if this was 02 episode 51!!

The music is so fantastic! OH THE REMIXES ARE SO GOOD but there’s also new tracks in it. The insert songs in it are very good too and they feel they connect each other in their style of music (yes, a friend told me this and now that i saw it by myself i agree with her) – I hope they release the OST album soon ;o;

“Various Colors” is my favorite song now. It's very good and refreshing, it’s not sad and it’s fitting for both Rui and Ukkomon’s story. I hope to see the lyrics translated someday so i can see if my feelings were right about it.

Anyway, the movie is so beautifully animated. I love the usage of the colors in it, it’s pretty and it made me not blink a second! Except for one scene, but… yeah, you might know when you watch it. The design of the characters are so cool and i loved them all!! I’m happy that Hikari-chan and Ken-chan got scarves in the end!! Oh man, they all are stylish~

But my only only ISSUES with it were the fact Wormmon himself couldn’t pronounce “Wormmon” correctly. Ken did pronounce it correctly alas. Also it was a little weird how Paildramon is pronounced in it as well. Oh and Shakkoumon too… But okay, besides that…

… Oh yeah, the other thing that made me chuckle nervously was them translating “Motomiya Ramen” as “Macarrão Lamen” (TL: “Noodle Ramen”) – because it was weird for me… But okay, i know it’s a little hard to read もとみや (Motomiya) in the paper sign lol

Anyway, i wish i could go watch the movie again and subbed this time but it’s too far from my place and i can’t afford to go there atm ;o; But i’m glad i was able to watch it at least dubbed, and it was a good idea in the end. GO WATCH IT, SUBBED OR DUBBED!! RIGHT. NOW!!

I’m totes buying a Blu-Ray of this movie. I hope they release it here too, this dub deserves to be preserved!!

I’ve been here since you posted the first chapter of ”you’re mine” and I just want to say thank you! You’re such a good writer and I really think your work deserves so much more attention.

You’ve been keeping us fed with a new chapter every 3 days it feels like and everytime I come on tumblr I check to see if you posted a new chapter 🤩

During ”You’re mine” I thought that we would get some crazy plottwist where T would turn out to be a psycho or smthn because of the lovebombing but honestly I prefer the lighthearted path you choose. I get what people mean with ”only smut and fluff” but tbh I dont mind it at all. I absolutely loooove the way you write the smut and like you said it is a big part of their relationship and the kind of couple they are. And sure, angst can put more depth into their relationship and the storyline by seeing how they deal with it and react but sometimes its just nice to read something that makes me feel happy and at ease too.

The new chapter had me in tears when Trent and Y/n had their mini speeches to eachother after Teddy was born 🥲 Your writing really makes me feel the emotions behind the words.

Since this is such a developed fic I think you have the space to challenge yourself and explore your talent when writing and try new/different things outside of your comfort because you are a really good writer and I truly believe you can only go up from here. Even if it doesnt hit (which i doubt) we will be here and support and keep reading!

Thank you for noticing my posting cadence. I really like to write and it comes naturally to me but it still does take some time. I hope people like how much I post! I don’t get a ton of engagement so it means a lot when people do! (TY if you do!)

I totally see where you’re coming from but I’m not a twist type person or at least not in this fic! I put a warning for love bombing on ‘You’re Mine’ because I know it was there but it also I kinda like that and that’s the whole story is Trent just completely enamored with this girl.

I will keep the smut. Maybe tone its frequency back but I genuinely think it is an element of their relationship that helps them connect. I think it’s a place where Y/N feels love and happy with her body.

I agree about angst. I do like it other peoples fics. It’s really good but also I like that these two stories are a majority of happy scenarios.

Last year, I've drew nine couples in one artwork during 💌 "Love Day"💘 (you know the one), then another couple has reunited after the return of Mocho 🐰🔵(Princkleminckle's OC). Links down below, if you want to see my artworks. But, one person who never been planning to get a date, and that's May 🐰👊💥 (Bryan360's OC). Since her debut, we haven't seen her planning to get a love with the boys because she's busying on herself for almost 10 years (kind a like me, in real life ☺ But, unlike myself...). That is until, my Chowder OC Aace Speedster 🐶🐺⭐ stepped in and he immediately had a love interest on May, as evidence from his wonderful story that I made it for him (again, links down below.). 😊 Finally, the new young love birds we're getting along from place to place, and among attractions that they visited is riding on the ship re-enacting the well-known 1997 romantic film, "Titanic". 🚢🌅 And since their wearing custom "Soft Rock" clothes courtesy of Aace's Speedster Twins, they can listen the wonderful Titanic's OST from Celine Dion → [CLICK ME!]. 🎧🎶😊 Man, who doesn't loved her beautiful song for "Love Day", huh?

Want to discuss something about Barun Sobti🌝We used to see him as a very fun loving guy, his face was so innocent that it seems he didn't understand the world yet at then. Bt now whenever I see any of his pictures, videos(which is rare) he looks tired,lifeless, I can't feel any joy in him. For me(may be I am over analyzing or something) it seems, he losts the willings for living on its full. He seems as a very numb guy now. I know there is many difficulties in this world which can change people totally bt this is really very sad to see him like this🙂

I want to share one more thing(which is actually pointless) that whenever I become tooooooo much lost into Arnav, Khushi's chemistry🥺, I unwilling start to blame Barun's wife🌚. My over thinking stupid mind likes to think that, Barun's wife was jealous of Sanaya and start to pressurize Barun to quit the show. Cz it's really very foolish reason which Barun used to give. He is an actor by profession so he can't quit or blame his job in order to spend more time at home. U know, bcz he have to go to the shooting today or tomorrow. So why he would want to quit a show which was so successful,otherwise to pacify her wife🙄. Or if it was a true excuse😒, then why he continues to be an actor bcz now he has a child also!!🔥Then my mind says that,does Barun's wife is the reason for his silent mood?!🙂

I don’t know where to begin. First of all I have a set strict rule that -

I do not discuss actors’ personal lives here

Second, you have to draw the line at parasocial relationship. “A parasocial relationship is a long-term attachment to a media figure (a blogger, an idol, or even a politician) based on what a person “knows” or understands about that figure over time. We develop parasocial relationships based on repeated interactions with these figures on social media or on television that make them seem relatable and accessible rather than far away from us “regular” people.”

This can be good or bad. The good is that the people who likes Barun’s/Sanaya’s works bond over loving those actors capabilities.

The bad is when someone assumes their life and marriage without even knowing them in real life.

Can you make a comment about Barun not keeping the best of appearances compared to his contemporary actors (for example Arjun Bijlani)? Sure, but-

(1) Barun is a normal human being who might be going through a plethora of things (the human body and mind are extremely unique)

(2) it’s none of our damned business to figure out why he doesn’t look the way he did ten years ago with makeup and good lighting.

Maybe he has aged? Maybe he hates posing for cameras so he always looks a bit uncomfortable? Maybe he just didn’t get sleep last night? Who knows and who cares?

Also I’m baffled at you heaping blame on his wife when he has been very vocal about just how much he loves her and that she’s been the most important person in his life. Like this isn’t even an assumption. In the little he has spoken it is evident how much his marriage means to him.

Yet to override what your favorite actor says to believe a twisted version of events is… sigh c’mon don’t do that. It’s the biggest way you can disrespect the actor tbh.

Also btw Barun was working 16-18 hours a day, daily, for two-three years by the end of ipk. It’s insane. Tv actors often fall ill due to these extreme working conditions!

What he did then is what we now call a mental health break (which is when people step back from their jobs/duties for the sake of themselves and their mental health). And Barun is neither the first nor the last one to do it. There’s Prince Harry, tennis superstar Naomi Osaka, Olympic human simone biles, global KPop sensation BTS, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, etc.

Also Deepika Padukone was diagnosed with depression at the height of her career.

These people have taken a pause from working because they were burned out.

Just like Barun was.

You can be curious as to how do stars get burned out, it’s their job right? Yeah but no job is fun when you don’t get a break.

Imagine being hours under hot lights, being sleep deprived and barely being home to sleep, memorizing pages after pages of lines on the day of shoot and then when you’re unable to deal with pressure you see fans commenting “oh his wife is the problem,”

I hope you have the sense to see the stupidity in this. Also burning out is an individual experience. Just because we can’t understand why a successful actor would leave a show, it doesn’t invalidate his reason!

He wanted to leave, he left. Period.

He loves acting, but not to the point where he doesn’t even see his family and is forced to play one damn character to its death.

Dude I’d give up writing fanfics if I was forced to write sixteen hours a day without a break for a year.

He got his break and he’s carefully choosing projects with proper time commitments (music videos, movies, web series).

TBH I don’t even know where this whole “blames the wife” comes from. If you love the actor, watch his interviews! He literally blames the crippled working system of TV.

Like it’s no surprise we’ve never gotten Barun and Sanaya to work together again simply considering this toxic discourse where his lovely wife is dragged in every now and then, although I don’t think it bothers them as they’ve plainly stated that multiple times.

I love all of them! But here I'll share a few that really stood out to me! -The Julia one I mentioned before!: "I just….. I am love her. I was SO happy when she was introduced. Her first episode is my comfort media. Autistic representation where it isn’t framed as a bad thing is SO rare in children’s media, and “she does things a little bit differently, in a Julia sort of way” made me CRY. She is so much like me and she makes me so happy. The happy flaps when I saw her on the Sesame Street float at the Macy’s parade nearly hurt my wrist I was so happy. She is the best girl and deserves the best. Her puppet was designed to have a set of arms specifically so that she can stim, and she has a comfort toy like I do and doesn’t like the way paint feels like I don’t and loves to sing like I do and gets overwhelmed by sirens like I do and I just love her SO MUCH. (I didn’t link a picture because there are so many good ones! I like the one where she is looking at a feather, and also the one from the cover of the picture book she initially appeared in <3)" -Audrey II: "want to preface: either the stage version or the '86 movie version works, as both are portrayed by puppets! although neither is canonically a puppet in the story. i couldn't tell from the rules if this was disqualifying or not. BUT if i could get a word in for the movie Audrey II: WHAT A GORGEOUS PUPPET… or should i say SERIES of PUPPET/ANIMATRONIC HYBRIDS! there's somewhere in the ballpark of a dozen Twoies in the film to represent the different growth stages of the plant. they're all beautifully painted with vibrant detail, perfectly matching the high camp tone & setting! the mechanics of the puppet are also intricate and innovative; especially the MOUTH those lip syncs are so accurate and expressive! the largest puppets were actually so heavy that in order to remain accurate to the audio, they had to be operated along to the tracks and filmed at half speed, then sped up in editing… which means that when the actors appear with the plant in those scenes, they're ALSO performing at half speed! the stage play versions are (by necessity) less technical than these puppets, which were fabricated by the Jim Henson company btw, but lots are still really cool; a unique standout is the one from the Pasadena Playhouse production! whew. all this and i didnt even talk about the character… Audrey II is an alien plant that was beamed down to Earth and wants to take over the world. it sings some catchy songs about that. they can fit so much queercoding and slay into this plant. it's a girlboss it's a drag queen it manipulated a young man into committing several murders. we stan." -Spamton: "Hee heehee I am so obsessed with this silly puppet guy. I love how he went from an absolute snazzy lil salesman dude with his red tux, and just gradually turned into a complete disaster of himself. I like how little detail is actually shared about his past, so you're left to wonder if he was actually brought down by circumstances out of his control, or if he brought his failures upon himself and just doesn't want to accept that. I want to give him a hug and he would no doubt try to bargain for my soul in the process"

Part 1 - Favourite movies

1) Favourite movies

Saltburn - cinematography is stunning and the symbolic metaphors… wow. It really is easy to edit because the movie is just so damn stunning and has extremely powerful and beautiful shots.

The dark and twisted and sexy themes are right up my alley and I loved the ambiguity of Oliver as a character. He was the Minotaur of the labyrinth and he became king of the castle that placed him there. And we never saw it coming, or at least Felix’s family didn’t.

But Saltburn was always waiting for him, it never belonged to that family anyways. It was always just waiting for its next host.

My favourite vampire movie that doesn’t have any supernatural elements to it. But you could feel the vampire lurking in the shadows, around every corner once he entered Saltburn. He killed all of the other hosts, drank their blood until they run dry.

And it finally belonged to him.

Midsommar - this movie lulls you in with a sense of safety and you fall right into the pit filled with a glowing light that never goes away like the sun in Midsommar.

You feel happy for her in the end, she’s smiling right? You feel like his boyfriend deserved his fate in the end.

Sadly, she’s gone from one manipulator to another. But at least she’s happy. Girl power!1!

Rise of the Guardians - this story takes you away and makes you feel like a kid again when watching. It makes you recall times in your childhood when you wished that Jack Frost could come and give your town a fresh layer of snow so that you could have a snow day off from school. Magic and fantasy will never be lost in my heart, especially when I’m watching this movie <3

(Also always had a crush on Jack Frost tbh)

How to Train your Dragon- feeling like you don’t belong? Like the black sheep of the family ?and then creating a whole new way of living that makes your lives easier? It’s giving neurodivergent people who struggle to survive in a world not built for them, so they create their own worlds or fix things in the one that we have to make it easier for everyone, but especially those with disabilities.

That might just be me though, and the dragons are super cool! I really wish I could ride a dragon. I remember having dreams of riding a white dragon in the sky after I watched the movie when I was younger. I also wish I could have a family like Hiccup and Astrid, to find somewhere that I feel like I belong. I guess I am going to have to create that space, or hopefully find it soon.

Little women - Jo March and this movie has my whole heart and inspired me to write and play and to care about my interests and to look at the world through the lens of a child and have fun whenever I can. I love stepping into this world and to live in the fantasy of what creativity can bring.

Mamma Mia - this movie is my childhood. It’s what started my dreams of travel and having a beautiful relationship with friends and to find the loves of my life. The setting in Greece is stunning, and it makes me yearn to see the blue azure waters in person one day. To see the architecture, to walk among all of the footsteps that make its way across the roads made of stone. I love the soundtrack and no offence to ABBA, I only listen to the Mama Mia version of their songs because the voices from characters in the movies remind me of how much fun they had. I want to have my wedding there, right where Sophie did. I want the dance parties and the breaking out into song and the raunchiness and fun vibes they had. Please send these good vibes to me, universe.

Mamma Mia here we go again - I love watching Donna fall in love with each man, and the music doesn’t hurt either. It’s just an overall fun time, and to see the main trio that I fell in love with as their younger selves and seeing more of that dynamic is so so fun. Also this movie is just so wistful for me and makes me wish I could live in the 70s. The outfits in this movie are so much fun too, and I will be taking inspiration on my next rewatch and go shopping soon.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire - very gay, beautiful striking movie that makes me feel things I can’t put into words. Heartbreaking and yearning that is far too relatable. Love and heartbreak, especially sapphic heartbreak is history repeating itself. I wish to love as strongly and as madly as they do. But please don’t give me the heartbreak, please let me stay with the lover I am given.

La La Land - a beautiful soundtrack, this made me fall back in love with music and lighting design and colour and the movies. I need to create or be in movies as soon as I can. This movie showed the both negative and positive sides of that world, but I still crave to be apart of that world. I need to live and breathe in it. I need to be an actor. Please, it’s all I’ve ever dreamed of when I was younger. I also need to be a musician, to create songs and compose lyrics that will bring others to tears and create an impact through my music like music does to me. I hope the universe is on my side with this one, I think I wouldn’t be able to breathe if I never ended up doing what I wanted. I would never be able to live without music and performance.
