AJ’s Nightmare

AJ lays on sleeping on the couch, trying to get some much needed sleep after everything that has happened he hadn’t slept soundly in a while and was in dire need of sleep.

At some point he wakes up hearing someone’s voice “wha...?” he groaned as he rubs his eyes as he stands up hearing someone calling out his name “Aleeeeeeex....”

AJ looks around the room before he stands up and starts to walk towards the source of the voice “Hello?” he called out. No response came.

He shakes his head before turning around to head back to the couch only for the same voice to call out his name again. He turns around then steps out the door, his heart stops seeing a familiar face “Dad...?” he said as he felt tears fill his eyes seeing the older lizard standing in front of him.

AJ quickly runs over to Carlos and wraps his arms around him “D-Dad...wh-what are you doing here?”

Carlos didn’t say anything as he gently hugged AJ, the younger lizard looks up at Carlos whom just smiles at him “I miss you, Dad.” AJ said as tears ran down his face.

Carlos lightly rubs AJ’s back as the younger lizard closes his eyes trying to keep this moment going for as long as he could. Just then AJ could feel his hands begin to get rather wet, he pulls one hand away then looks at it. It was covered in blood, AJ’s hand begins to tremble “N-No...” he pulls away from Carlos, shaking heavily

Carlos had changed from his usual self to what AJ had found that night. His guts were hanging out, there was wire around his neck, blood was pouring onto the floor “Y...You failed to protect me, Alex....you are the reason I’m dead. YOU DIDN’T PROTECT ME, YOU IGNORED MY CALL!!” Carlos shouted as the colour drained from him

AJ slips on some of the blood and lands with a heavy thud on the ground as Carlos walked towards him repeating the same thing over and, over again “You did this, you got me killed, you didn’t protect me!!”

AJ curls up into a ball on the ground as he began sobbing uncontrollably, begging and pleading for this to end. 

Just then he sits up on the couch, drenched in sweat, his breathing was shaky as he looked around the room, his hands were shaking. He looks down at his hands then covers his face as he begins to sob once again.
