I actually put an example of computer graphics at the top. I used Adobe Firefly, which provides AI art to create images and text and the only limit is your imagination… and your vocabulary, but it’s great. I typed in “black drip, letters are blue and red” and was given the image above.

If this is indeed the case, then check out below what a couple of hours of fiddling around with Adobe's impressive "Firefly" AI engine achieved this evening, when I challenged it to reimagine the 18 AFL Clubs.

The process went something like this:

Load up Adobe's text-to-image generator, "Firefly", which is currently in beta with access by invite.

Enter a text description for each team that went something like, "Leaping male lion with a maroon mane. Background is maroon, blue and gold swirling smoke and lightning".

Keep generating and/or regenerating images until I find "the one" that resonates with me!

Kickstarter Fuck Up Arrived: "The Tome of Fey Lore" by Fable Spinners

I fucked up because I wasn’t paying attention. But I’m not blaming myself entirely. When I went to download this PDF off of DriveThruRPG, it asked me if I wanted to follow AI projects, and I didn’t think anything of it. When I went to grab the link to the Kickstarter project to use in this post, something told me to look through the “Campaign” section, and, sure enough, there was the “Use of AI” section I messed. This stunned me considering the fact Kickstarter, at one point, said they supported artists and didn’t want AI on the platform. The policy on it now, and it was updated a month ago, is:

“Kickstarter is first and foremost on the side of creative work and the humans behind that work. Whether your project will be approved to raise funds on Kickstarter depends on what those tools are, and how you’re planning to use them. You will be asked to supply this information in your project submission. If your project is approved by our Trust & Safety team, your responses to the questions will appear on your project page.”

The rest of the policy states being Open and Honest is a requirement. What I WISH was a requirement is to have the “Use of AI” section at the TOP of the page!

All the project page says is, “Topaz Gigapixel and Adobe Creative Cloud tools, including Firefly, are used as part of the workflow.” Not very specific. I don’t really know what that means. They got over $30,000 for the project and they couldn’t stall it to hire ACTUAL artists? It’s, also, not mentioned on their website, at the time of writing this. Thanks, Kickstarter, for allowing this shit on your platform after first saying it wouldn’t be. I submitted a ticket regarding it. I’ll give the project this: I have it, so I might as well use it, the writing is good. If AI shit isn’t a deterrent, click here.
