You said that you change the ships and friends, can you tell then now? And where I can read your au?
You have no idea how big can of a worms you just opened.
I'm gonna start with the ships.
Lukagaminette, Myvan, Kimdine, and Auronino. Those are the only ones I'm pretty sure will be endgame (also Chris and Stephan). And there's just a big mess.
Maybe Chloleka or Chloauronino or Chlolya. Or Julerose, completely forgot about that one... I could also make a big polycule, but I don't think I'm a good enough writer to pull that off. Look at this mess
I'd be pretty satisfied with this in theory, but in practice? Not so much, I think... I don't trust myself to write that in a way that would be satisfying.
I think I'll go with Chloleka for now...
The friend groups are better than that. I hope
Ivan, Nino, Aurore and Juleka. They become friends after they get akumatized. Marinette, Chris, and Stephan also hang out with them.
Alya, Nino, Adrien, and later Lila. Basically Adrien protection squad. Marinette hangs out with them sometimes.
Kim hangs out with Max, Alix, and Ondine.
Marc, Ondine and Aurore. They're from Mendeleiv's class, Kagami joins it later.
Alix, Marinette, Alya, Mylène, Rose, and Juleka are the girlfriends™. Sabrina and Lila join them later.
Marinette, Chris, Alya, Rose, Mylène, Sabrina, Kim, and Lila are the Lila enjoyers squad.
Stephan, Chloé, Kagami, and Alix are the Lila haters squad.
Adrien, Nathaniel, Alya, and Kagami are the Ladybug fanclub. Chloé is a secret member.
Adrien, Kagami, and Chloé are the rich kids.
This was actually kinda hard to do and a big mess. I think It'd be easier for me to explain some of the relationships individually(like Kagami and Marc, that's a cute one).
You can't read the au anywhere. I'm in the planning phase now, but thanks for your interest!

In which Volpina makes her appearance, Chat Noir makes puns, and Queen Bee is a (mostly) useless Lesbian.
Chloe was falling through a pitch black abyss, completely void of any light or sound. All she could feel was pain. It was as if a hole was being drilled through her back. She could feel it as it cut deeper inside of her, heading straight for her heart and then… It was gone.
The pain disappeared suddenly and without a trace, and instead of the horrible and nauseating feeling of falling, she felt as if she were simply drifting; all alone through empty space, with no sense of up, down, or even if she was breathing.
And then, she wasn’t drifting. She was nestled against something soft and pleasantly warm. Whatever it was, it was even better than the twenty-thousand-euro bed back in her penthouse. She felt safe and very comfortable, and wanted nothing more than to snuggle deeper into whatever it was she was laying on, but her body wasn’t responding to her commands. Her “bed” seemed to sense what she wanted, and she felt it shift and wrap two warm arms around her and hold her close. It was a wonderful feeling.
The next sense to come back was smell. Her lungs suddenly sucked air through her nose as if they had been completely empty, and her mind was filled with the scent of cinnamon and… something else. She couldn’t put a name to it, but this new smell was completely foreign to her, though not at all unpleasant.
Next came her hearing. She could hear the steady thump of a heartbeat in one ear, and then two voices talking back and forth in the other.
“Is she okay?”
“Yeah, uh, she’s just, er… really excited to meet you!”
The voices sounded slightly muted, as if from a long way off. They were nice sounding voices, but hearing them was forcing her to pay attention and wake up, while the heartbeat was trying to lull her back to sleep. Her strength began to come back to her, and she used it to bury her face deeper into the nice smelling something that was cradling her.
One of the voices laughed softly.
“Well, she’s certainly seems happy to meet me.”
Someone lightly caressed the side of her face, prompting her to unwillingly open her eyes. Her vision was blurry at first, but as she blinked it back into focus, all she could see was an ocean of pure white. She pulled her head away slightly and realized she was sitting up. Turning her head, she saw a dark blue floor and some funny looking shoes that were attached to some legs. Following the legs up, she eventually came to Chat Noir’s face leaning over her. It was smiling down at her like the him that had eaten the canary.
That was a bit annoying, but at least he was a friendly face. She dazedly looked back to her bed, and saw it had orange shoulders connected to the two white “pillows” she had been using, and a gold and orange necklace shaped like a fox tail. Following the necklace, she saw a high black collar that connected to a beautiful brown face, that had a friendly smile, a white and orange mask, and two hazel brown eyes that Chloe found especially fascinating.
“Hello there,” the lovely face said.
Chloe’s dreamy bliss popped like a balloon. She was leaning on a pretty girl, no scratch that, being held by a pretty girl whose rather ample chest had been serving as her pillow for who knew how long, and this bushy haired angel was smiling down at her like there was nothing wrong with this situation. It was literally a dream come true for her repressed little gay heart. So naturally, she panicked.
She flung herself away from the beautiful stranger with every ounce of strength she had. The girl let out a “Hey!” of surprise and fell over, while Chloe tried to stand up and run away at the same time. The result was her stumbling wildly backwards, and as she did so her mind took in her surroundings and she realized that she was still on the roof, and in nearly the exact same position she had been in just a minute before.
Fortunately, Chat Noir was prepared this time, and used his staff as a guard rail to keep her from falling off the roof like she had nearly done earlier.
“Yeah, let’s not do that again,” he said, and then gave her a push forward that sent her tumbling back towards Volpina.
Volpina was still sitting up as Chloe came back, and they landed in a heap on the floor, with Chloe sprawled over Volpina’s chest again, and her head spinning.
“That, however, I could watch all day,” Chat commented.
As the two girls groaned and Chloe pushed herself up on her arms, Volpina sat up for the third time and the two came nearly nose to nose.
Their eyes widened as the two looked at each other, their faces barely and inch apart. Volpina seemed surprised, but Chloe looked downright terrified. Her eyes took in the vision before her, and tried to memorize all the details at once. The way Volpina’s white tipped brown hair perfectly framed her face, the bright colors of her mask, the surprised but curious look in her sparkling hazel eyes, how soft her slightly parted lips looked, how close they were to her own…
“You know, Queenie,” Chat said off to her left, playfully leaning on his staff and twirling his tail in one hand. “I at least waited until my second mission before I fell for my partner.”
Chloe’s already red face nearly burst in to flames. Volpina tried to hide her smile, and Chloe shut her eyes tight and wrenched herself away from her as fast as she could. She scrambled for the only safe place she could think of to save herself from dying of embarrassment, and made a mad dash past Chat Noir, grabbed one of his padded shoulders as she went by, and swung herself around to hide behind his back.
“Is she okay?” Volpina asked, trying not to laugh at the just barely visible knuckles clinging to Chat’s shoulders.
Chat looked back at the trembling girl trying to cut off circulation to his arms.
“She’s fine,” he said casually. “She’s just not used to meeting new people.”
Chloe made a fist and hit him in the back as hard as she could. He chuckled at the soft blow and turned his attention back to Volpina.
“So where’s Ladybug?”
Volpina stood up and pointed to a tree on the opposite side of the park from their roof. Chat Noir squinted, and could just make out a hint of red peeking out from between its’ branches.
“She’s over there. She’s waiting for me to make a distraction to lure away all the bad guys so she can rescue the hostages.”
“Great plan,” Chat said. “Getting the civilians to safety should always be our first priority. You got that Queenie?”
He looked back and saw Chloe nod her head vigorously while she continued to try to slow her racing heartbeat.
“Good. Volpina, you and I can hop down once their distracted and help Ladybug release the hostages, then regroup back here and get Queen Bee. She, uh… transformed before her Kwami told her how to use her powers. Classic mistake. I did the same thing.”
Volpina gave a nervous laugh and rubbed the back of her head.
“Actually, Ladybug says I’m not allowed in the field yet. She says I need more training.” Volpina rolled her eyes and huffed. “Like she had any training on her first day.”
“That’s what I said!” Chat agreed, and Chloe hit him again.
Volpina threw up her arms in agreement.
“Right!? Anyway, I’m supposed to just stay up here out of sight for now.”
“Well, Ladybug knows best, I guess. Anyway, you can look after Queenie for me then.”
Chat jabbed his thumb over his shoulder to point at the still cowering “Queenie.” Her majesty had had enough of him however. Without a word she grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him over behind a nearby chimney. As soon as they were out of sight, Chloe grabbed him firmly by the shoulders and slammed him into the grey brick chimney. She glared furiously at him.
“You have exactly three seconds to start explaining before I start inventing new ways to skin a cat.”
Chat held up his hands.
“Whoa, take it easy. I told you I had one last surprise for you, didn’t I? You get your own partner! Look, a few days ago Ladybug met me for patrol and showed me these two boxes, see? They looked just like the one I found Plagg’s ring in, and she said this old guy had given them to her so she could select some new superheroes to help us out. One had the Fox Miraculous inside it, which she kept, and the other had the Bee Miraculous, which she gave to me. She told me to give it to someone who was kind, trustworthy, and a strong leader. I only have, like, 4 friends though, and you’re the only one I would really call a leader, and you’re always kind to me at least. Plus, like I said, you’re the only one who would really appreciate the freedom that comes with a miraculous. So after a few days of thinking about it, I came by your house last night and here we are.”
Chloe looked at him in wonder for a moment, then closed her eyes and shook her head.
“Okay,” she said slowly. “So… why am I ‘Queen Bee’ all of a sudden?”
“I thought it up while we were in the nurse’s office,” he said brightly. “It just kind of hit me, you know? Pollen’s all big into royalty like you said, right? And, you know, you always act like you’re royalty all the time. And you’ve got the whole bee look going on, so then I was like, BAM, ‘Queen’ ‘Bee’ get it?” He smiled proudly at his own creativity.
Chloe looked at him dumbly, blinking every so often, as if not sure how her life had suddenly become so strange. Chat’s face fell.
“Do you… Do you not like it?”
“Huh? No. I’m mean, no Chat, I love it! Couldn’t have come up with a better name myself. Just...”
She lifted her hands up to his collar, where they hovered indecisively as if not sure if they wanted to strangle him or not. Instead, they simply landed on his shoulders and squeezed firmly.
“Next time, talk to me first before you make any major, life altering decisions for someone else. Okay? Please?”
Her smile was loving, but also very strained at the same time. Chat didn’t know what to make of it so he just nodded.
“Uh, yeah, sure.”
“Good. Good…”
She patted him on the cheek and took a deep breath before stepping out from behind the chimney. She forgot who was waiting for them, and let out a surprised “eep” when she saw Volpina looking at her. She quickly dashed back behind the chimney, colliding with Chat Noir in the process. They fumbled around for a second until separating themselves, whereupon Chloe began very casually brushing off her outfit and adjusting her hair.
“You go first,” she said, waving at Chat.
Chat arched an eyebrow at her before strolling out from behind the chimney. A second later, Queen Bee followed him out with her head held high and her shoulders back.
And her knees shaking when she caught Volpina smiling at her curiously.
“Sorry about that,” Chat said. “Just had to have a quick word with my ward here.”
He gestured at Queen Bee, who scowled and punched him in the arm. Volpina tried to hide her smile, and Chat Noir ignored Queen Bee and continued.
“Anyway, I’m sure we’ve kept my lady waiting long enough.”
Volpina nodded and pulled out the long wooden staff she wore on her back. At least, Queen Bee had thought it was a staff, but then she saw Volpina hold it up to her lips and realized it was really a very long flute. Volpina focused on the farthest end of the park. and took a deep breath. She closed her eyes and hesitated for a moment before playing a few short cords. The music sounded rushed, but a ball of glowing energy quickly formed on the other end of the flute. When she was done, she adjusted her grip and tossed the glowing orb at the spot she had been focusing on, as if she were casting a fishing rod.
“Interesting technique,” Chat commented.
Volpina smiled and rubbed her head again.
“My mom used to take me fishing a lot. Look!”
She pointed as the ball of light arced over the park like a shooting star. It hit the ground with a small flash, and Chat Noir and Ladybug appeared. Queen Bee looked from the Chat next to her, to the Chat across the park with Ladybug in amazement. She was even more impressed when the fake Ladybug suddenly moved, and whistled loudly at the jeering minions. Every head in the park turned to look at her. Along with everything else in the park that didn’t have a head.
“Hey! If you want our Miraculouses, come and get’m!” the fake Ladybug yelled.
The evil edibles cried out and charged at the fake Ladybug and Chat Noir. The duplicates gave them a taunting wave, and started leaping from tree top to tree top, letting their pursuers chase them around and wildly hurl wooden spoons and spatulas up at them.
About fifteen or so of the minions stayed back to guard the hostages.
“They’re smarter than they look,” Queen Bee commented.
“Just the way the cookies crumble,” Chat said, pulling out his staff. “Volpina, you try to cover us with your illusions from here in case things turn sour, Queen Bee,” he gave her a quick wink, “don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”
She nearly threw him off the roof, but he leapt away before she could get her hands on him. She watched him pounce on one of the giant gingerbread men and smash it to bits. She could also see Ladybug rushing in from the opposite side, using her yoyo to lasso an over grown cupcake, and turn it into a makeshift wrecking ball to smash the four-foot tall sugar cookies blocking her way.
“They make a good team,” Volpina said next to her.
Queen Bee jumped. She hadn’t realized Volpina had gotten so close. She swallowed and kept her eyes fixed on the battle below as she tried to think of something to say. Volpina just laughed.
“You know, you’re pretty shy for a queen.”
Queen Bee blushed again and looked away.
“…I didn’t come up with the name,” she mumbled.
“Oh! So you can talk to me.”
Volpina smiled and tried to lean around Queen Bee to catch her eye. Queen Bee felt Volpina’s chest brush up against her arm, and the soft touch sent sparks of electricity shooting through her body. She jumped away, her heart pounding, and Volpina backed away too, frowning.
“Sorry, I guess I can be a little too forward…”
“No no, your fine!” Queen Bee insisted, waving a hand despite still looking directly away from Volpina. “I’m just…”
‘gay.’
The word echoed through her mind. It was something she had been taught to be ashamed of. Something she had hidden, feared, and hated about herself for almost all of her life. She had tried her best to lie to everyone about it, even herself, but standing on that roof, alone with her new beautiful partner, she remembered that she didn’t have to lie about it anymore.
Queen Bee turned around and looked at Volpina with determination burning in her eyes.
“I’m a lesbian.”
Volpina seemed taken aback, but whether it was from what Queen Bee was saying, or just the raw power she was saying it with, she couldn’t tell.
“That’s why Chat picked me to be Queen Bee. I have to hide who I am when I’m… when I’m the other me.” Her gazed dropped to the ground. “But Chat promised that I could be who I really am, if I agreed to help fight the Akumas, so I did. I’m gay, and I’m not going to hide it when I’m like this. I-If that’s going to be a problem I’m sorry, b-but I’m not going to give it up so-”
Her fear was beginning to override her courage, but before it could give out completely, two strong arms wrapped around her waist, and she was again surrounded by the lovely scent of cinnamon, and that other nice smell…
She slowly let herself relax into Volpina’s embrace, and after a few seconds, she hesitantly wrapped her own arms around her as well.
“It’s not a problem at all,” Volpina whispered in her ear.
Then she pulled back and cupped Queen Bee’s face, wiping away a tear from her partner’s cheek with her thumb, and they both smiled at each other.
“I think that is a great reason to become a superhero. I mean, it’s certainly original.”
They both laughed and Queen Bee let go to wipe her eyes again.
“So, yeah. Lesbian superhero.” Queen Bee looked down at herself and shrugged. “Though I guess I’m not very super yet…”
‘or a much of a hero,’ she added to herself.
Volpina scoffed and waved her hand.
“Don’t worry about it, girl. Ladybug’s got me on a two-foot leash. I’m not even allowed to wear my own miraculous unless she’s there to supervise me.”
She rolled her eyes and groaned. Queen Bee looked amazed.
“Wow, Chat only gave me my miraculous last night, and he wanted me to fight an Akuma my first time putting it on.”
“Wana trade?” Volpina asked.
She was clearly joking, but Queen Bee put a finger to her lips as if considering the offer.
“Hmm, depends. Would I get to find out who Ladybug really is?”
Volpina laughed awkwardly and rubbed her head again.
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”
Queen Bee frowned, then shrugged her shoulders.
“Well, if her reveal went anything like Chat’s, you’re probably right. He transformed right before my eyes and I still thought it was fake.”
“You too!?” Volpina exclaimed. “The same thing happened to me, girl! Like, she changed right in front of me and I thought it was just some fancy special effect! But it was right in my own room! I didn’t believe it was really her until I started-“
“-Trying to point out why she wasn’t!” Queen Bee interrupted. “I did the exact same thing! And then when there weren’t any reasons why he couldn’t be Chat I got this really bad-“
“-Headache, I know! If felt like my skull was splitting open! But it was like there was this wall separating them and when I started poking holes in it-“
“It was like someone cataclysmed your head. Yep, exactly! There’s got to be some kind of magic that keeps people from recognizing us. And it HURTS super bad when it stops.”
“Ugg, I know,” moaned Volpina, “and I felt like a total idiot for not seeing it! I mean she doesn’t even change her hair!”
“At least you probably weren’t raised with Ladybug,” Queen Bee grumbled.
“Yeah, I can’t imagine if I had a brother that was secretly a superhero,” Volpina said, shaking her head.
“Yeah… wait what?”
Queen Bee looked up at her in confusion, but Volpina just waved her off.
“Girl, it’s totally obvious. The way you two talk, the way you move, the hair,”
“Whoa, whoa, time out!” Queen Bee put up her hands in a tee, and gave Volpina a warning look. “My gorgeous hair is nothing like that banana mop litterbox boy has on his head!”
Queen Bee waved at the park below, while Volpina wordlessly observed how Queen Bee’s ponytail started as a whole band of hair, but was clearly attempting to curl itself into individual bunches at the end.
“Mhmm, sure.”
“Uh… Volpina?”
Queen Bee was staring down at the park with worry etched all over her face. One glance below told why. The hostages were still tied to the posts, and Queen Bee and Chat Noir had been captured as well.
“Oh…” Volpina said. “Yeah, that’s probably not good...”
Author’s Notes:
Regarding Volpina’s name: When I started this fic Alya did not have her own superhero name, and the fans were still calling her Volpina. I hinted that there was a bit of disagreement over what she was called in the prologue, and I may end up changing her name before the saga is finished completely. But for now, she’s still Volpina.
Fun fact, there was originally a line about how Volpina hated how Ladybug had named her after an Akuma, and at least Queen Bee’s name was original. I had to cut it out because it just didn’t work with the flow of the story.
Regarding Queen Bee: I don’t think I have ever read, seen, or even heard of a story where a person becomes a Super Hero specifically for the advantage of the anonymity to be themselves. I can think of several Super Hero’s who are more true to themselves as Super Hero’s as opposed to their civilian identities, but it didn’t occur to me until I was writing this chapter just how unique Chloe’s motivations are. At least as far as I know. I can think of several Super Villain’s with motivations similar to that, but no heroes. If you know of any other stories like this, please let me know in the comments.

fanfic writer appreciation week: day 3
(prompts from this post) || other posts
If you do end up reading any of these fics and enjoy it, please leave a comment on the fic! 🌸
Crossover:
no prior information needed to get any of the aus!
Adrien, Agreste No Longer by Jarl_Deathwolf [ G, 12k words, 10/10 ] {adrien-centric, lovesquare}
Adrien has a terrible home life, but what can he do? This is his messed up family, after all.
...Or is it?
barbie and the dreamhouse crossover/cracked au that is simultaneously hilarious and fluffy. a lot of adrien comfort and gabriel roasting with barabie being badass (sorry marinette, you have to take the backseat for a while) is pretty simple and makes for a perfect read after watching ‘chat blanc’
Qui Vivra Verra by Yilena [ T, 27k words, 1/1 ] {lovesquare}
From being hailed as a magical prodigy, Marinette grows up isolated from others her age. Following her uncle's suggestion, she dons a mask and enters a world of competitive anonymous duelling, earning herself a mysterious best friend along the way. AU.
a harry potter au where ladynoir are stupid friends and adrinette are chaotic friends with a facepalming chloe and the characterizations is so endearing.
Fluff:
What if it's us (and only us)? by Ephemeral_Joy
[ T, 7.6k words, 1/1 ] {lovesquare}
Adrien Agreste, secretly having a summer job as a piano teacher at a dingy music store, loves to stare at the raven-haired girl that explores the shop a few times a week. He doesn't know her name, but he already knows she's something special.
Maybe even His Someone Special.
(or: Adrien and Mari have an awesome summer romance)
this is such a summer-y read! absolutely fluffy with loads of mutual feelings and just adorable and wholesome.
Floured Faces, Frosted Lips by deinde_prandium, PrincessBuggyCat, sukker_sugar [ G, 6.8k words, 1/1] {lovesquare}
Sugar, spice, and something nice for two oblivious idiots to do together on an autumn afternoon...
Marinette and Adrien are paired up to make treats for a charity bake sale. Awkwardness ensues.
they bake together and give me tooth rotting fluff i cannot do this they are so adorable omg!!
Missing Scenes: Non-lovesquare:
I Won't Say I'm in Love by Leisey, livinglittlelie, wonderfulwizardofthozz [ T, 3 works]
This series includes 3 very loosely interconnected works centered around 3 different ships (chlolya, sabrinette, adrino) which can be read as a standalone! it’s so gay and stupid ans full of shenanigans (may have out-dated/made up characterizations duh but still very enjoyable)
glass half full of time by Cinnamonbookworm [ T, 4.5k words, 1/1] {chlolya}
@alyacesaire (she has the nerve to be verified now. Actually literally verified by Twitter dot com. Chloe is endlessly frustrated by this fact): great book. bounces off of other people’s heads very well. 10/10. i hear it’s written well too.
In which: Chloe intervenes with the kids because everyone's having their mid life crises at like twenty now I guess and Alya does damage control. (Sequel to Hazy)
this is such a coming-of-age-except-you-are-in-your-20s vibe??? it’s really nice! the way chloe’s character is depicted is so interesting to me!
Her own way of talking by vegalocity [ G, 1.3k words, 1/1] {marigami}
Kagami has her own way to express her affection, while sometimes Marinette may miss her intent, she can understand the meaning just fine.
expression of affection through non verbal ways is my weakness and this fic taps into it

chlolya hcs? please? 🥺 for my serotonin 😳
ooo okay this is kinda one big hc but i really like the idea of chloe joining the ladyblog. she probably bullies alya into letting her join by spamming the comments with alts that are named like #1QueenBeeFan until alya is like oh my god FINE holy shit you can join. maybe she thinks that if chloe got her shit together she could actually do something good with her position.
i think she’d have her own column, maybe named like Mind Your Beeswax and even though she uses it to complain about how ladybug isn’t letting her go out as Queen Bee, she lets slip a bit about how she feels as Queen Bee and how its an outlet for her and the ladyblog fans latch onto it and it’s a weirdly popular column
after a bit she’d actually start using her resources to help fund the site so alya isnt spending her pocket money to keep the servers up. chloe’s pretty bossy, i can see her starting a club or something and ‘suggesting’ (see: pressuring) other people to join to help add things to the blog. it’s not the most cheerful or friendly work environment but it’s weirdly tight nit? alya starts realising chloe isn’t just muscling her way into the top position but actually kinda cares about the blog in a really weird, very chloe way.
it takes a while, but i think chloe having an outlet like writing to process her emotions might mellow her out a bit. maybe she and alya actually hang out finding stories. maybe they get real close. maybe it’s how they start dating 👀
#sorry this is so long lol#and only one hc im sorry for that too!!!#but i got rlly into it now i wanna write it#chlolya#chloe bourgeois#alya cesaire#miraculous ladybug

Love Square for Chlolya Chloe Couffaine
Chloe x Alya: Alya doesn't hate the pervy comments, she just wished to be swept off her feet instead of crude humor. Chloe only has crude humor because she is a disaster and she only had Anarka as a teacher
Hornet x Rena: Mutual respect and a lot of flirty banter. The whole team goes "just date already" but the two have their own love interest already so they don't actually date
BEAUTIFUL

Salty Asks 1 & 5
1. What OTP’s in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
Marichat :/ KIDDING but the actual otp that I never got was Chlolya is guess? I like how people write them, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like they’ve been so at each other beyond what we see for Marinette and Chloe, and where Chloe has history with Marinette, Alya just saw her be mean to Marinette and was immediately against her (as she should!) That and their rivalry isn’t even explored enough for me to feel like it’d be interesting to explore in a enemies-to-lovers type way... idk
On the Percy Jackson side of things Pernico didn’t make sense to me. Though we got interactions I never thought Percy saw Nico as more than that annoying kid who he feels responsible and bad for and I don’t like that dynamic esp as far as romance goes.
5. Has a fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
No because I like what I like and if someone’s being annoying I’ll just block. I refuse to have my mood ruined by ppl on the internets!!

Hi! I'm your ML secret santa ^^ I'm super excited to come up with something and I know your preferences, but are there things you specifically want to see? Prompts, tropes, au or not, whatever it may be? (I'm kind of excited, I haven't really written much chlolya yet!)
oh my gosh you are the actual sweetest
This is going to be super unhelpful but–I don’t actually want to see anything specific. (I’m so sorry OTL) I love things that are unique or unexpected or works that just really show off a creator’s particular style. And I know that sounds kind of cheesy but honestly all Chloé/Alya content is good content, so no matter what I won’t be disappointed.

This is another thing no one asked for, but I’m dedicating it to @livinglittlelie and her Chlolya discord server.
“Where are we going?” Alya asked for the dozenth time since they started this journey, stretching her arms out in front of herself blindly. “And is the blind fold really necessary if you’re going to make me walk this far?”
“Well, it wouldn’t be a surprise without a blindfold, darling,” Chloe said pointedly, continuing to guide Alya forward. “Can you just be patient and trust me?”
“My patience only goes so far, honey. When you came to me and said you had a surprise then held up a blindfold, I had a much different idea in mind for this evening.” Chloe rolled her eyes, tugging her shirt to stop her before rushing forward to take her place.
“Okay, you can take the blindfold off,” She instructed, clasping her hands together. “Tadaa~”
Alya peeled away the bandanna and glanced around to find herself on the Pont des Arts bridge in front of Andre’s ice cream stand.
“Happy Valentine’s Day!” Chloe cheered, linking her arm through Alya’s with a smile.
“I take back my whining. This is actually very sweet...for you,” She teased, with a smirk.
“Since it’s Valentine’s Day, and I’m in a good mood, I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that.”
“Welcome, two lovely ladies! Let’s see what we have for the sweet couple today.” Andre flipped open his freezer while Alya and Chloe exchanged giddy looks. “Orange for one who is sweet, but not too sweet. Lemon for her partner with a tangy bite, and a little vanilla for two girls who are anything but.”
“Thanks, Andre,” Chloe said as they accepted their cone, and Alya immediately took a spoonful.
“Mmm, this is certainly one of your tastier surprises,” She hummed as they took up residence on a bench.
“You mean unlike the time I tried to cook for you?” Chloe giggled, accepting a bite.
“Especially unlike the time you tried to cook for me.”
Chloe smiled contently, her gaze softening on the girl sitting next to her contently chipping away at their frozen treat. A girl who had started off an enemy but who became a dear friend over time and finally, an ardent lover. It was funny to her now that she couldn’t picture life without Alya Cesaire anymore, and if she were being honest, she didn’t want to.
“Hey, Alya,” She started, pursing her lips a little and taking a tiny scoop for herself.
“Yeah?” Her girlfriend cocked a brow.
“I’ve been thinking for a while now...about how much you mean to me, and I want you to know that you’re the most important person to me in the whole world,” She said sincerely, and Alya stopped short, setting the cone aside and placing her hands over Chloe’s gently. “They say that Andre’s ice cream has the power to help a couple stay in love forever, and that’s why I wanted to share some with you.”
“I wouldn’t have wanted to share it with anyone else either, Chlo.” She smiled, leaning in to kiss her lips softly. They lingered there, tasting the fruity cream on their breath until they finally pulled away, touching their foreheads together.
“I really love you,” Chloe said, and Alya opened her eyes to meet Chloe’s serious gaze, feeling her grip tighten just a little bit before a single hand slipped away. “And I want to spend my whole life with you.”
Alya glanced down to see a delicate diamond ring in Chloe’s hand, feeling her cheeks burn in an instant. Her gaze flicked back up to Chloe’s finding affection and excitement in her eyes that soon reflected in her own.
“Then that’s how long I’ll stay by your side.”

The Emperor's New Groove?
And we have a winner! Presenting the up and coming Ugly Llama Face featuring Chloe as Kuzko and Alya as Pacha and they definitely fall in love by the end.
So I know I technically promised some Chlolya but I don’t actually have anything written with either of them in it yet (idk why I could’ve sworn I did) so here’s part of the one scene I actually have written featuring Adrien and Gabriel and father-son-world-domination bonding. Enjoy ;)
***
“Chloe’s way too gay to marry me, which means Plan C was a bust, right?” Adrien said when the silence had gone on for too long. “So what’s Plan D?”
His father waved a dismissive hand. “Kill her, of course.”
Adrien nodded. “Of course.” He probably should have seen that coming. Chloe may not have been as nice as she thought she was, but she was still his friend. He was going to miss her after they killed her.
“With no heir, the throne will fall to me,” Gabriel continued, stopping pacing to grin at his son. “But how do we do it?” Adrien shrugged, though he knew his father wasn’t really looking for an answer. Gabriel’s eyes lit up a moment later. “Oh, I know! First, I’ll turn her into a flea, a harmless little flea. Then I’ll put that flea in a box, and then I’ll put that box inside of another box, and then I’ll mail it to myself, and, when it arrives, I’ll smash it with a hammer! It’s brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, I say! Genius, I tell you!”
Adrien nodded along, joining in on his father’s laughter. It was a pretty solid plan. Definitely nothing that could go wrong.
And then his father’s elbow knocked a beaker into a potted plant, and they stared for a moment as the plant rotted away to nothing.
“Or,” Gabriel said, a grin stretching across his features, “to save on postage, I’ll just poison her with this!”
“Oh, yeah,” Adrien agreed. “Postage taxes have really gone up lately. We should do something about that when you’re Emperor.”

alright y’all, let me clear something up. apparently yesterday, when i said
maybe if you don’t like gay content “but not because it’s gay, i just don’t like it!” take a minute to examine why specifically you dont like it. it might be internalized biases.
people interpreted that as me saying “hey if you don’t have any gay ships you’re automatically a homophobe”
regardless of the fact that I, and many other, more popular queer creators, explicitly stated that’s not what we’re saying, people are latching onto that and twisting our words in a way that makes people disinclined to want to listen to what we actually have to say, because they’re angry or concerned that we’re just throwing around baseless accusations.
alright, i’ll admit, that one’s on me. i was unclear. so let me clarify.
now, this is by no means a comprehensive list of the homophobia and transphobia that exists in this fandom. these are just some examples
but first i want to say something that’s probably going to anger a lot of people, but i feel that it’s true. pretty much everyone has some internalized homophobia. even if you’re straight and think you’re a great ally, you still live in a homophobic society and will have unconscious biases that may manifest without you even realizing it. hell, this isn’t even an issue solely for straight allies; i’m a lesbian and i still deal with internalized homophobia. i’m not saying that this automatically makes you a raging homophobe. what i’m asking is that you take a step back and re-evaluate how you’re thinking. nobody is perfect. i’m not asking that you stop because you’re a horrible person. i’m just asking that you realize when you could be better, and try to improve.
that said, I’ll move on. because people like @breeeliss, @agrestenoir, @reyxa and @sadrien have already talked extensively about the hate they’ve received for various queer hcs, i’m going to talk about the other part. the avoidance.
yes, i understand that this is a show built around a main ship, and anything else will have significantly less content. this isn’t a group of shippers complaining about the abundance of rarepairs and demanding that other people have more ships so their content gets more notes. that’s incredibly reductive and frankly misses the point.
it’s totally fine to see a pairing and not ship it. no one is saying that’s the problem here. the problem is the distribution of content (this might not be the exact phrase i’m looking for, but hopefully you’ll get what i mean)
first of all, m/f rarepairs get significantly more attention than f/f or m/m rarepairs. and i’m talking about chlonath, tomatofox, heartrate, etc. vs. alyanette, adrino, chlolya, etc. rarepairs for side characters get more attention than rarepairs for main characters.
alright, i can already see your argument. rarepairs with main characters are less popular because so many people only ship the love square. that might be the case, but lets keep going
rarepairs like kimax and julerose are undoubtedly the most popular queer ships in this fandom, and they only include side characters--nothing to interfere with the main ship. but they still get significantly less attention. this past june was julerose june, but that basically got steamrolled over by chlonath month.
cool, maybe it’s just character preferences. more people find the characters of chloe and nathaniel and their dynamic engaging than those of rose and juleka
i’ll preface this by saying it’s subjective, but nathaniel barely has any characterization in canon. fanon has stretched him into something more than we’re explicitly given in the show; as such, you could get the same dynamic between him and chloe as with marinette and chloe. nathaniel and marinette are both artists, often characterized by the fandom as shy but spunky, and unafraid to stand up to chloe’s crap. except nathaniel never does the latter in canon. he never stands up to chloe. alya and marinette have. yet, somehow, the argument that “you’re shipping chloe with her victim!” only shows up on chlolya and chlonette stuff; never chlonath
(this isn’t hate for that ship. i’m simply pointing out a double standard)
stuff like julerose, kimax, alyanette, adrino, etc. is also frequently derailed with “why can’t they just be friends?” cool, great, i’m all for healthy, affectionate friendships. but notice you never see anyone say this about djwifi, or heartrate, or (yes, i’m going there) adrinette. as @alya-bug said recently, “Everyone loves the friends to lovers trope when it is male/female friends. Where does that go when it is two girls?” with m/f characters, their friendship is brought in to strengthen their romantic relationship. with m/m and f/f characters, their friendship is brought in to invalidate it.
a surprising amount of double standards like this exist in the fandom once you become cognizant of it. no one is saying that if you align with these examples, you’re a nasty homophobe that should die. i’m just asking that you realize the hypocrisy here, recognize the homophobia behind it, and acknowledge it. no one is going to make you ship things you don’t care for. i don’t know how many times i have to say that.
and lastly, if anyone has anything to say about this, please come to me. i dont care if you don’t want to have a constructive conversation; if you just want to send anon hate or call me stupid or whatever. don’t send hate to my friends. don’t start your own post and vague about me using whatever misinterpretation i’ve led you to believe is my actual argument. come to me so i can clear up any misconceptions and make sure that you understand the actual point of my argument. and leave my friends out of this, please
#mine#this isnt fandom drama btw this is like#queer ppl standing up for themselves#but im not going to get into that#sorry this is long but im not putting it under a cut bc ppl will have an excuse to ignore it

In which our heroes go back, find there is no going back, and things go up from there.
“Huh?”
Chat cocked his head as he hung upside down from the courtyard floor. Well, technically Chloe was the one who was upside down, but she didn’t feel much like moving at the moment. Bad things happened when she moved today.
“The super strength, how do you turn it on?” she repeated.
He blinked at her and scratched his head.
“Uh… I don’t know. It just sort of… turns on when I need it?”
“Well I need it and it’s not turning on,” Chloe grumbled as she righted herself and shook her head. “At least the armor thing is working,” she grumbled.
“Maybe you didn’t say the phrase right?” Chat offered.
“I didn’t say the phrase at all!”
“…Right.”
They stood in awkward silence as Chat Noir thought, and Chloe became more angry with her situation. It was bad enough she didn’t know how to use any of the unique powers she was supposed to have, but now the hunk of junk miraculous wasn’t even giving her the basics! At least some of the powers seemed to be working, since she hadn’t felt much of an impact when she had crashed into the bench. Then again, maybe it was just the adrenaline that was rapidly fading from her veins that kept her from feeling the full impact…
“…We’re not gonna solve anything like this,” Chat said, pulling her out of her thoughts.
He knelt down and motioned for her to climb onto his back.
“Here, hop on and we’ll go find Ladybug. Maybe she can help once we deal with the Akuma.”
Chloe groaned and rubbed her face.
“Chat, you can’t seriously still expect me to fight like this?”
“Well no,” Chat said, straightening up. “But I can’t just leave you alone while you’re transformed after you nearly passed out back there.”
Chloe groaned again.
“How about I just change back?”
“Can you?”
“…Good question.”
They hurried back inside the nurse’s office.
“Okay, how do I do this?” Chloe asked.
Chat opened his mouth to reply, but then trailed off as if not sure how to explain it.
“Well, you just kind of… want it to come off? I think Plagg once told me saying the transformation words in reverse helps beginners.”
Chloe cocked her head to the side in confusion.
“You mean… talk backwards?”
“No, like I say ‘Claws Out’ to transform. To change back I’d say, ‘Claws In.”
There was a beat of awkward silence.
“…You didn’t change back though.”
“Well no, I didn’t want to. It’s not like transforming, the words just help focus the feeling. That’s the important part. Just try saying ‘Change Back”
“…Right.”
Chloe nodded and went back over to the mirror and looked herself in the eye.
“Okay… Change Back!”
Nothing happened. She looked back at Chat Noir.
“Like I said, it’s all feeling. You have to want to change back.”
Chloe nodded and turned back to the mirror and closed her eyes. She tried to imagine herself without the mask and suit. As regular, normal, mayor’s daughter Chloe, and tried to remind herself of what she was missing if she couldn’t change back. No more credit cards, no luxury hair products, no limousines, no look of fear in people’s eyes when she walked into a room, no hateful glares when they thought her back was turned, no having to make herself turn up her nose when a pretty girl passed by so she wouldn’t stare, no feeling of a knife being turned in her heart when she saw happy couples sharing a meal, while she sat alone in her limo on the way to another public appearance as the daughter of a corrupt mayor…
She opened her eyes, and saw a woman who didn’t have to be her looking back from the mirror.
“…I can’t.”
She felt Chat’s hand on her shoulder, and turned to see him smiling at her.
“That’s okay. I don’t think I could have done it the first time either.”
She smiled back, and then grimaced as pain shot through her back again. Chat steadied her, but she held up a hand.
“Was it?”
“Yeah,” she said straightening up. “But it wasn’t as bad as last time. Lasted a little longer though…”
She rubbed that same spot on her upper back as the pain quickly dissipated.
“Maybe you should just stop looking in mirrors? Those eyes are enough to break any girl’s heart when they look away.”
“…Shut up.”
She playfully pushed him away, but couldn’t keep herself from smiling. Chat chuckled back before his eyes suddenly lit up.
“Oh, that reminds me actually! Come on.”
He grabbed her by the wrist and drug her back out to the courtyard.
“You know, I hope nobody sees us,” Chloe commented, looking around. “The last thing I need is Cesaire getting some video of me tripping over my own feet before I’ve even announced myself to Paris.”
“The school’s empty, trust me,” Chat said, pointing to his magic cat ears. He knelt down slightly with is back to her. “Now hop on, I’ve still got one more surprise for you.”
Chloe rolled her eyes.
“Chat, if your next surprise is anything like your last one it would be kinder to just cataclysm me now and be done with it.”
“You’ll love it I promise! …hopefully.”
Chloe sighed and shook her head, but put her arms around his neck anyway. He stood up and she tightened her grip around his collar bone.
“Ready?”
“…No.”
“Good, here we go.”
He took a running leap and used his staff to propel them up to the roof of the school again. Then he pole-vaulted them across the street, and up onto the flat roofs surrounding the park.
“Last stop,” Chat said as they landed.
Chloe let go and began brushing herself off and grumbling.
“Ugg, Ladybug is so much better at whisking people away then you.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Chat said, lazily putting his staff behind his head and hanging his arms off it again. Then he shifted uncomfortably. “Uhm… look, I know I shouldn’t have to say this but… well… About Ladybug-“
“I promise I’ll try not to steal your ‘Lady’ away from you,” Chloe said, giving him an affectionate smile. “Since you’re the one who gave me my chance that would be a pretty nasty thing to do, even for me. I don’t think I’d have a chance with her anyway actually… She never seemed to like me very much.” She added, looking down at the ground.
“This is the new you, remember?” Chat said, lifting her chin up to look at him. “But I’m gonna hold you to that promise. Though I’m sure my feline charms would win out over your feminine whiles eventually.”
“Uh-huh, keep telling yourself that, cheese breath.”
She patted him on the cheek with a teasing smile, and he groaned.
The two of them went over to the edge of the roof and looked down at the chaos below. They had seen a fair amount of the evil edibles running about the park on the TV earlier, but now the place looked nearly overrun. Several hostages were tied between posts made out of giant pretzel sticks halfway between the fountain and the statue of Ladybug and Chat Noir, which of course had been smashed to pieces as it always was whenever there was an Akuma attack in the area. The monstrous pastries were either jeering at the hostages, or dancing around them waving more cooking implements. Amongst the hostages were Nadja Charmack, her cameraman, and a particularly well dressed and cowardly looking gentleman Chloe felt she had seen somewhere before, but couldn’t place.
“Looks like Ladybug hasn’t shown up yet,” Chat Noir said.
“Or she’s somewhere else dealing with the Akuma. Look at how the hostages are tied up like they’re going to be an island sacrifice, like in that movie with the big monkey, remember? None of those things look like they’re in charge, they’re just dancing around, and there is definitely more of them than there were on the news. They’re waiting for something, probably the Akuma riding on a giant gingerbread gorilla.”
Chat Noir looked at her, clearly impressed with her assessment. But before he could say anything,
“Wow! Good eye, girl!”
They whipped around to see a girl in an orange and white outfit standing a few feet away. The girl smiled and waved at them, and Chloe recognized her from her description and the blurry photos on the Ladyblog.
“Volpina!” she gasped.
She grabbed at the satchel on her waist, but panicked as she realized she had no idea how she was supposed to use it to defend herself. She looked to Chat Noir for help, but to her surprise he smiled and put away his staff to shake the newcomer’s hand.
“Nice to meet the real you finally. Chat Noir, though you probably already knew that.”
“Volpina,” she said, shaking his hand. Then she turned to Chloe. “And who might this clever girl be?”
Chloe blushed.
“Volpina, meet your new partner, Queen Bee!”
“Queen Bee huh?” Volpina said walking up to Chloe. “That’s an… interesting choice of name. Anyway, it’s great to meet you, I’m sure we’ll make a great team!”
She smiled and held out her hand to Chloe, but all Chloe could do was stand there like a deer in headlights. She looked desperately from Chat Noir to this new(?) Volpina. Partner? She had her own partner? And what was with this Queen Bee stuff Chat was suddenly spouting. In a daze she took a step back, and her foot found only empty air.
As the familiar sensation of falling overtook her, her back exploded in pain again, and the world went black.
Authors Notes
Regarding Volpina: Yes, she’s finally here. Chlolya fans rejoice because (spoiler alert) the next couple chapters are going to be focusing pretty heavily on the two of them. And what chapter’s they are going to be.
Regarding the Landscape: I freely admit I cheated a little and changed the rooftops surrounding the park from pointed to flat so I could use it as a scene location. Then again, I’ve also seen shots in the show where some of the roofs there do look flat on top. But then, the Eiffel Tower likes to jump around from being right behind the school, on the opposite side of the bridge from the school, on the other side of Paris, and once I believe ended up being behind Adrien’s house even though his house FACES the damn thing. My point is, the canonical layout of Paris changes with the time of day in the show, so please do not worry if there are any topographical inconsistencies, though I will try to keep them to a minimum. I actually work off of a screenshot from “The Bubbler” that shows off how close most of the landmarks like the school and everyone’s houses are. Most of the time.
And again, this is an A.U. Chloe is gay, Mrs. Agreste is dead, Pollen’s eyes are still solid blue, and the roofs around Palace De Vogses are flat.

chlolya + make out session
Well, I saw this and immediately came up with a scenario, so hopefully you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Alya was never matchmaking again. If this was how it felt to be on the other side, she might even owe Marinette an apology.
Assuming Alya ever spoke to her again after tonight.
“This is ridiculous.” Chloe glared at the door beside them. “You can’t just keep us in here!”
“We’ll let you out as soon as you kiss,” Marinette called through the door, her tone much too cheerful for the current situation.
Alya and Chloe shared a glance, an unspoken agreement passing between them. “Okay! We kissed!” Alya shouted back. “Let us out!”
“It doesn’t count unless you send a picture,” Nino chimed in from beside Marinette.
Alya really needed better friends.
Chloe simply rolled her eyes. “How are we supposed to take a picture without a phone?”
“There’s a camera in there.”
“Yeah, it’s one of those instant film things,” Adrien explained through the door. “Take a picture and slide it under the door.”
Scratch that. Alya needed new friends. Period. If there was a camera in here, that meant they planned this, and that meant they were even more horrible than Alya had given them credit for.
After a brief search, Alya found the camera in question and snapped a quick picture of the door to test it. Sure enough, an undeveloped picture slipped out of the front of the camera, and moments later, she was holding a snapshot of the door in her hand.
“Dinner just got here! If you want any, you two should hurry it up,” Marinette shouted. “Especially now that you know the camera works and everything.”
Alya was absolutely never speaking to any of them ever again.
But first, she had to get out, which meant she had to face the facts, despite how much she hated them. So, she took a deep breath and turned to Chloe. “They’re not letting us out.”
Chloe scowled. “Fine. Let’s just kiss, then.”
The very vivid image of Chloe pressed up to the wall, lips soft against hers and warm hands resting at her waist filled Alya’s mind before she could stop it. The fact that it could actually become a reality only made the situation so much more unfair. Alya took a deep, steadying breath and hoped Chloe didn’t notice the color rising in her cheeks. “Fine. I’ll take the picture.”
Chloe huffed out a sharp sigh. “Make sure you get my good side.”
“Any side that gets us out is a good side,” Alya shot back as she stepped closer and carefully positioned the camera. “Ready?”
Rather than answer, Chloe closed the gap between them and kissed her. Alya barely had the presence of mind to snap a picture before she dropped the camera. A small, vengeful part of her hoped it broke when it hit the ground. Chloe’s hands sliding over her jaw quickly recaptured her attention, however, and Alya gasped as her back hit the wall. Sure, Alya had hoped to enjoy the kiss, even hoping Chloe might do the same, but she never expected Chloe to take charge and push past the brief contact they needed to take a picture as proof they’d done what they were supposed to.
Because Chloe wasn’t through. Not even close. She moved forward, tongue swiping across Alya’s lips and fingertips sliding into Alya’s hair, all heat and hungry desire for more. Alya melted into the sensation of Chloe surrounding her, her curves pressed up close against Alya’s as the closet seemed to fill with the sweet floral scent of Chloe’s perfume. Alya could be content like this, heat building in the minimal space between them and pleasant shivers racing up and down her spine. She could stay here for hours, drinking in honey-flavored lip gloss while her hands settled on Chloe’s hips. She could linger in this moment for the rest of her life if only for one, small thing.
Chloe didn’t feel the same.
So, Alya twisted and broke away to bark out a sharp, "We kissed!” She kicked the photograph under the door, hoping it was enough to satisfy the requirements of the game. Her heart hammered in her ears while she waited for an answer, avoiding Chloe’s eyes and hoping the heat in her cheeks didn’t translate to a visible blush. Knowing her luck, it probably did, but she’d fight anyone who mentioned it.
“Okay, you can come out.” Marinette replied after a moment.
But as soon as the door cracked open, Chloe reached back to tug it closed. “Not yet!” She smirked up at Alya and took her time slipping her hands over the sides of Alya’s waist, her fingertips dancing up Alya’s spine when she finally brought them together again. “Now, where were we?”
Alya tensed, sure this had to be a prank until she saw the look in Chloe’s eyes. “Wait, you’re serious?”
“Unless you want to leave.”
Alya shot her a wicked grin and spun so this time Chloe had the wall at her back. “Well, we did say seven minutes, right?” She murmured, close enough that her lips brushed over Chloe’s while she spoke.
Maybe she owed Marinette a thank you instead. If this is what it felt like to be on the other side, Alya was never giving up matchmaking.
#miraculous ladybug#ml#asks#chlolya#marinette would be a matchmaker too okay#and i'm positive adrien and nino would help#my writing#anonymous

GENUINE question: So, you feel it is wrong or offensive to genderbend a het pairing into a queer pairing, right? Is that because it counts as fetishizing, or...?
i feel as though the answer to that question depends more on the intentions of the content creator. i’ll try my best to explain.
firstly, just as a quick footnote, genderbends in general do make some people uncomfortable (there’s a good post about it here). you’re not a bad person for liking them (i know plenty of non-cis people who love them) but i think it’s always best to tag that content so that people who don’t want to see it don’t have to. personally, genderbends in and of themselves don’t bother me. however there are moments where their intentionality bothers me.
i’ll give you an example where it doesn’t really bother me. voltron has a very male dominated cast. up until this most recent season, there were only 3 main female characters in the entire show: two are teenagers, one is thousands of years old and one of the main antagonists. which means that shipping wlw in that fandom is kind of impossible because there’s really only one pairing you can possibly work with (compared to the dozens of mlm and het ships you can create).
so, occasionally, i’ll see genderbent klance (i.e. keith and lance, originally two male characters, genderbent into two female characters). in that sense, i can understand using genderbends to create a wlw pairing. wlw representation is often very difficult to find, and when you do find it, it often ends in our angst, our death, or our unhappiness. so for someone who’s in a fandom like voltron and wants to explore different relationship dynamics with a wlw pairing that isn’t just the only wlw pairing the show has, genderbending is a good way to explore that.
now miraculous ladybug is a totally different ballgame. it’s got a very strong female fronted cast. there are a number of wlw pairings you can explore given the canon cast. that being said, most of fandom usually doesn’t bother to explore them (the canon pairing of the show is a het one, so i get why this is, but statement still stands). if you compare wlw content in this fandom to the content devoted to the main pairing, wlw pairings have practically nothing. so scrolling through ML tags and finding wlw content is very exciting for us.
it gets disappointing when wlw content for ML is found and it’s not actually trying to rep up rare pairs and canonical wlw relationships. it’s just the canon het pairing genderbent to be a wlw pairing.
it feels lazy and it feels like a cop out. if you really wanted to explore wlw content, you don’t have to genderbend adrien to get it. there’s alyanette. chlonette. julerose. chlolya, literally a bunch more pairings you can look at. and instead you ignore all those pairings and decide genderbending adrien is easier. idk personally that’s discouraging for me and it suggests that people would rather stay within the comfort of a het pairing then try to push boundaries and explore something different.
tl;dr: it’s not wrong, per se. but intention is important, and some people’s intentions do bother me.
#i hope that made sense?????#ask#anonymous#this is just my personal opinion so i don't mean to like#dictate what you're allowed to do or what you're allowed to like#all this is very personal to me#and if you vibe with it cool and if not also cool

replied to your
post
me getting hit by Chloya or Julerose feels
I’d love to hear more about your Chlolya idea! (if you don’t mind sharing, that is) I love your miraculous swap stories, you always take me by surprise with them, and I’d love to see what you came up with for Chloé and Alya!
It’s a maybe idea atm! Would certainly love to do Chloya sometime, just to explore the pair; but we’ll just have to see. Actually have a rough basic idea on beginning and middle, end not quite so much.
Actually, if anyone wants to have a go at it, feel free! All I ask is that you let me know, this is one of those ideas I wouldn’t mind reading instead of doing myself.
But it’s an Origins divergence.
Fu didn’t find Adrien but Alya, and despite not being Marinette’s ideal partner, thought she’d be a good enough BC. Alya becomes Chat Roux!
Marinette still tries as LB but failed and passed the earrings onto Alya. Only Chloe winds up stealing them from Alya and Tikki reveals to her that she can be a hero. Chloe wants too for the glory and Tikki refuses to give her the magical words.
Stoneheart kidnaps Chloe (and Tikki) and Mylene, Chat Roux saves Chloe, there’s the lesbian crush.
Chloe now wants to be a hero to work with Chat Roux and Tikki agrees, plus situation is critical. They work together, save the day, and Chat is a bit sad that the first LB didn’t come back but accepts it. Those up to be heroes should be heroes, plus she really likes the fire in this LB.
There’s mutual Ladyroux, flirting, pining, and crushing; but no real, official dating yet with Chat and Tikki both wanting to keep identity secret for safety precautions. Chat wants to wait till HM is defeated for sure; though CR and LB are practically skimming along the lines of dating.
Now at school Alya and Chloe have become real rivals.
Chloe knows Alya was supposed to be the 2nd LB, and there is no way she’s risking Alya taking them away so she was with Chloe’s Chat instead! So she’s willing to try and beat Alya down; only Alya is eager to fight back and stand her ground, even more so since Chloe’s bullying of Marinette is also much worse and Alya is a fierce Mama Cat.
For Marinette and Alya, they have a reverse going on. Marinette knows that this LB isn’t Alya like she intended, and this LB isn’t doing as good a job as she should. So Marinette often sneaks into akuma fights to help, stressing Chat out because that’s DANGEROUS!
And her concern for Marinette just makes LB jealous; which is why Chloe’s bullying is worse on Marinette.
And there is a juggle of miraculouses with Adrien, Marinette, and Lila which makes this quite a miraculous swap mess ;3

Hey, so I've noticed that you are active in fandoms that are popular for its ships. I was wondering, is there a "type" of ship that you enjoy most seeing in media or a ship just in general that catches your attention? I would like to hear your thoughts on positive and negative shippings that you see. (I'm sorry if this is worded weirdly).
Ehhhhhh, I dunno, lol. I mean, I think that–to a certain extent–shipping exists in any popular fandom (and unpopular ones). But, like, Miraculous literally has a relationship, or potential relationship, at the center of it, so it’s no surprise shipping is center in the fandom. And Voltron is just filled with so many shippable characters that it’s going to have a lot of ship stuff going on (which has apparently manifested negatively in this case, unfortunately). I mean, shipping is a huge part of fandom culture for a lot of reasons anyway, so that’s going to be a predominant feature to begin with. Like, you don’t have to ship things in a fandom, but a LOT of people do and so content that contains ships is going to be more popular.
That aside, most of the ships I write about have some kind of basis in canon interactions. Or potential canon interactions. I ship the lovesquare because there’s so much backing it in the canon that I can trace my own stories back to it. I write about Klance because every interaction they have in the canon is dramatic and attention-drawing. Be it negative or positive, Keith and Lance have chemistry and it’s exciting. I like exciting romances if they’re going to be in a narrative. If it’s not going to be exciting and entertaining, I don’t care to create for it. I’d rather put my focus on the plot, etc. This is why I don’t write Shallura. I love Shallura, but it’s the kind of relationship that would form slowly over the time of a bigger narrative, imo. If I were to write Shallura, it would have to be some kind of dramatic AU (like teacher/student) to create tension. Klance is FULL of tension and suspense and dramatics. So too is the love square. So is Destiel. So is Spirk. That’s just where my interests lie.
Like, I can enjoy the idea of Sheith and Hance and Alyanette and Adrinino, but based on the canon, those ships lack the tension that I like and so I don’t have much interest in writing them. Korrasami is the same way. I love Korrasami, but it’s… boring to me, from a creative standpoint. I think it’s very healthy and I love that they’re together, but I have no interest in writing about it. Just like I have no interest in writing about Kataang. Or, say, for Shingeki no Kyojin, I’ve written Ereri, but only in AUs because I like how the characters interact in canon, but in order for me to see a plausible ship, it has to be removed from the canon (which means that I don’t actually ship it). But, like, Jean and Mikasa? Sign me the fuck up, I love that ship in the canon.
It’s part of the reason I love Chlolya (Alya and Chloe). It’s got the same dramatics as Mari and Chloe, but seems more plausible in the canon because Adrien isn’t there to get in the way. I don’t like ships that are too soft, that are too easy. Like, when I look at Sheith or Hance, it’s too nice to interest me in relation to canon (I like these ships, I just don’t create for them). Just like Shallura, which is, again, why I don’t write it. If I’m going to create content, I want the characters I write about to work for it.
Which is part of the reason I find reading fanfiction so boring. This isn’t to say anything negative about fanfiction, but I rarely come across fics that present the kind of conflict I write about. Again, there are some–I’m not saying there’s not–but that tends to be something some fanfic writers actively avoid. And I mean that for angst and fluff. You can write angst and be miserable, but if it doesn’t cause conflict, it’s not exciting. There’s a reason why in ACC I write Lance as being as difficult as he is versus him just giving in and letting Keith help him. One, it’s more realistic, but two, it creates tension and conflict.
I don’t know why fanfic writers are afraid of these things–if maybe it’s because fanfic is a place people find solace away from conflict–but that’s not what I’m interested in, personally. Which plays a role in what ships I write about. I want exciting ships and ships that interact in an interesting way in the canon. That’s why I love Ichiruki and loath Ichihime (one of the few ships I really do actually actively dislike, sorry).
As far as being active in fandoms that are popular for their ships? Well, again, I think any fandom has popular ships, but writing in a fandom that’s popular in general means more feedback. I’d love to write an epic for Spirk in Star Trek, but it’s not going to get enough attention to justify it. Sure, write for you and write what you enjoy, but I write so much and have so many stories planned that I have to prioritize based on what I’m going to gain from each endeavor. Writing Miraculous and Voltron gets me a lot of feedback. And seeing as I’m not getting paid to write fic, I want the attention instead *shrugs*
The thing is, if you can get into a popular fandom and gather a fanbase, that gives you more freedom to act freely in other respects. I can create original storylines and characters in SF because I’ve paid my dues and worked my ass off to get where I am. It’d be nice if it wasn’t that way, but it is. What I’m writing in Voltron isn’t some willy-nilly decision that I made out of nowhere.
I’m going to point out some similarities for you:
My Last Thoughts are of You was the first story I wrote for Miraculous, whereas Running Flat was the first short story I finished in Voltron. Both center on a ship and both have dramatic, yet short storylines. This is a way of introducing readers to me as an author without being overwhelming. It’s a way to test the waters with me before they decide to give a longer story a chance.
In Miraculous I then wrote One Thing After Another as a character study and precursor to Serendipitous Fate. This was a long fic that would introduce readers more thoroughly to me as an author and give them more than just a short fic to affiliate with me. In this way, they remember me now, because there was a fic that had a big impact on them. It also means that when I drop a bomb like SF that is super plot heavy and not your usual fic–it’s more like an original work than a traditional fic–I have a fanbase that is willing to read it. Because, let’s be frank, a story like SF on it’s own without my reputation to back it up isn’t going to be popular from the get-go. Look at it in comparison to Pick-Up and Chase. SF, despite how popular it is now, had to work it’s way chapter by chapter to get there. Pick-Up and Chase, which lacks the depth, work, and literary intension that SF has–was popular from the get-go. But I hated writing it. It was fun at first, but that’s not what I’m truly interested in writing. If I hadn’t established myself with One Thing After Another and My Last Thoughts are of You, SF wouldn’t be as popular as it is. It’s a kind of advertising.
And it’s what I’m currently doing in the Voltron fandom. A Commutual Contract is the equivalent of One Thing After Another in my Miraculous works. I’m writing it not only as a character study, but to draw in readers so they can have a piece with which to recognize me as a credible author, so that when I drop my Voltron epic, people will actually fucking read it. I have a Voltron fic outlined that is the equivalent of SF. It’s called Voltron: To The End and it’ll be roughly 48 chapters. But writing it now wouldn’t be advantageous because I’m not popular enough to justify putting that much work into something. Why should I when I could write an original novel instead? I need incentive. I may even have to write another longer Voltron fic before the epic because I’m not sure ACC is getting enough attention in a fandom that is so massive.
And I’m not saying that writing about rare-pairs or unpopular pairings is a waste of time–it’s not. You do you and create what makes you happy. But to someone who writes as much as I do, I have to make decisions and cuts based on what I’m going to get back. And since fanfic doesn’t pay money, I want that payment in another form, and that’s readers. I want people to read my stuff, so even though I want to write a Shallura teacher/student AU, I’m gonna focus on A Commutual Contract because I think I’ll get more out of it and I’ll likely get equal amounts of enjoyment either way.
I am overflowing with ideas ALL THE TIME! I will literally be dead before I can write them all down. So yeah, when I have dozens of ships spread out before me that I like, I’ma choose to write about the popular ones because it’s gonna get me more satisfaction. And I like to be happy. It’s healthier for me. I like to feel like what I’m writing is getting to people. Because if my fanfic isn’t getting attention, then I’m gonna go write an original novel instead (I should do that anyway, tbh) and try to get that published.
If I’m gonna work my ass off as much as I do, then I want it to be worth my time. And I’ll take messages and comments and nice readers over money if it’s satisfying to me. But that also means I have to prioritize what I write and why I’m writing it. That’s sometimes why I’ll release outlines and never write the fics. I’m never gonna write that Voltron/Avatar fic–I don’t have time. But it does exist in my head, lol.
Hope that answers your question, friend. Sorry it got so long, but people are always asking me about my process, so here’s some of it ;D
