Just a reminder HR 9495 is still floating around in Senate with no sign of moving forward.

I've recently heard that KOSA is dead at the moment but HR 9495 is rather ambiguous in terms of status.

Doesn't hurt to refresh folks on HR 9495's threats and how to contact their Senators if a vote comes up at the last possible minute, no matter how unlikely.

For those unfamiliar on what HR 9495 would do:

"Basically it would allow the Treasury to strip Nonprofits of their Tax Exemption status if believed to be supporting terrorism without need of crystal clear evidence."

Hey, the ACLU is getting people to send letters to your Reps to have Congress pass the No Kings Act.

This bill is to ensure that even sitting presidents are held liable for their actions. That NOBODY is above the law.

Sadly the nonprofit orgs killer bill passed the house and is now on its way to the senate,endangering orgs such as ACLU,EFF,FTF, Internet Archive, AO3 ( @transformativeworks )and any fighting for human rights. Take some time to voice your disappointment at the reps who voted yes on this terrible bill,and thanks the rep that voted against it. However the next step will be to focus on the Senate, here you can find your senators: https://www.senate.gov/senators/ If your senator is a democrat, you can use this script: "I am calling to urge my representative to vote no on H.R. 9495 . This is a dangerous bill would give the Trump administration unilateral power to label any non-profit as terrorist supporting and shut it down without due process. Stop KOSA. KOSA just got passed through the House and More organizations even Twitter and Snapchat. Social media companies it aims to delete are coming out in support of it. This content creator has been covering KOSA for a long time. If you remember when AO3 was down how everyone freaked out. KOSA could take AO3 off the Internet. Could remove queer content online. While the Continuing Resolutions does not include KOSA, advocates for the bill are still pushing VERY HARD to add it to the package of bills, even going as far as to not vote for disaster relief bills if KOSA is not added to the package of bills.
