One of my favorite things about Neil was when he was questioning his sexuality. He looked at Nicky and Matt to see if his feelings towards them had changed to try and deduce if he was gay tm. Of course, he came to the conclusion that he’s pretty exclusively attracted to Andrew, but did he ever even think to look at the identical twin of the man he had just kissed? No, why would he do that. Like hmm, I enjoyed kissing this person, does someone who looks the same give me the same feelings? Never even crossed his mind. Of course he isn’t attracted to Aaron. i like that Aaron is perceived as the more well-adjusted twin. and that he murdered someone. not because it’s like oh my god the normal one is actually equally insane look he killed a guy but because killing his twin brother’s rapist is actually still a reflection of how well-adjusted he is. he saw the threat, eliminated the threat. immediately. 10/10 efficiency. it’s oh my god the abuse these kids had to suffer is so incredibly violent and disgusting that when nobody took care of them the normal one took matter into his own hands and that’s the only & legitimate route he could take considering the circumstances and boy did he deliver you know? Wymack was ready to propose to Kayleigh, but choose to leave to not overstep Kayleigh boundaries. Wymack called Kayleigh to know if Kevin was his and was ready to be a dad, but she said no so Wymack let it go. He sees Kayleigh everytime he looks at Kevin.

Betsy developed an unnoticed way to call Andrew's attention when he is going anxious and trying to hurt himself. That way he stops and nobody notices.

Andrew accepted joining PSU because it was Aaron's opportunity to study medicine and became the doctor their mother couldn't believe he could be.

Aaron was able to see through Andrew's denial about his feelings for Neil. Because he knew his brother ticks, expressions and mannerisms better than he let it show.

nicky + the twins headcannons

andrew was a little blindsided by nicky taking custody. after tilda passed, andrew was expecting to go back into the system and he was ready to fight tooth and nail to stay with his brother and keep them both safe, or make luther and maria regret taking them in everyday the twins spent under the hemmick's roof.

andrew gave nicky a really wide berth for a really long time. in his mind, an adult man he doesn't know flies halfway across the world, leaving behind what sounds like a happy life, to get two underage boys alone in a house with him. at first, there's no "this is my cousin, this is my family." he doesn't know this person. he's never known this person. but he knows nicky's father. and andrew doesn't want that person alone with his brother.

neither twin really thought nicky was going to be a good guardian. both were expecting to fend for themselves a lot more than they ended up having to.

nicky spends the first several weeks cataloging every little detail about the twins that he can. aaron likes spicy food, andrew does not. andrew tears all his food into tiny pieces for some reason and aaron eats like a normal human being. andrew has a major sweet tooth. aaron also likes sweets, but prefers salty snacks. both twins always seem to be cold. both twins like to color-code things. both twins are right-handed and have horrific handwriting.

all the twins' teachers tell nicky that the boys are incredibly smart but don't seem to engage with their full potential. andrew excels at english and writing based classes while aaron flourishes in math and science.

nicky bakes a (pretty okay) cake for the twins birthday and presents it at breakfast. it's the first time someone actually bakes aaron a birthday cake.

nicky would purposely say or do things to get negative attention from the twins because he saw the way they would make eye contact across the room/the table when nicky would annoy them. he decides that letting them have a common enemy may help bring them a little closer than making an enemy out of each other.

it's nicky that teaches the twins to drive.

nicky remembers the first time each twin chose to spend time with him. aaron sat down beside him and silently watched the show nicky was finishing. andrew helped nicky clean up the kitchen on their birthday after nicky made them the cake.

Breakfast is a massive mug of hot chocolate with half a can of squirty cream and marshmallows.

one thing that is so important to me is that neil asks.

kevin is so sure that andrew could go far, that he’s wasting his potential, and he demands that andrew follow through on it. wymack wants andrew to stop hurting his teammates and he yells at him. aaron and nicky know they’ll never get andrew to do anything, so they don’t even bother. everyone wants andrew to this or not do that and they try to force it on him. they don’t give him the choice to say yes or no.

I was just thinking about how Aaron wanted to be a doctor and ended up taking a life before he ever saved one, but then I realised I was wrong. Because he saved Andrew. If Aaron hadn't gone behind Tilda's back to contact Andrew, he would have let Cass adopt him. He saved Andrew from Drake years before he smashed a racquet into his skull.

People often say, "Andrew first time of being taken care of was with Neil," but I feel that that is completely wrong because Nicky was there before Neil.

Nicky gave up his life on Germany, a happy life he built after years of trauma and depression, to take care of Andrew and Aaron. Nicky returned to the place he hated the most because the twins needed him. And he did it out of his own decision. He gave them a house and a chance to start a new family.

And yeah, we could argue that Andrew didn't care, but then again, the reason he ended up in juvie and medication was to protect Nicky.

Nicky wasn't able to break down Andrew's barriers, but that doesn't mean that he didn't love him or cared about him.
