Scenes/Things in Supernatural that genuinely don't make sense to me if Dean was straight:

The confession booth scene.

Sam just rolling with the fact that Dean's siren is a guy while still thinking sirens infect people through sex.

Dean being flustered by several men: Gunner Lawless, Aaron, Doctor Sexy, etc.

All the parallels between Destiel and other couples. (A big one being "last night on Earth" bc how do you do that accidentally.)

Having all the gay jokes be on Dean instead of Sam.

Paralleling Sam meeting his childhood celebrity crush with Dean meeting Gunner Lawless.

The boner Dean got when Cas cleaned up.

Dean gulping after Cas does an impression from a Western movie.

Charlie, a lesbian, calling Castiel "dreamy."

The way Mary looks at Dean and Cas when they hug.

Dean wondering why everyone assumes he's gay, while Sam not caring.

The logic that Charlie can't flirt with guys because she's only attracted to women, but then having Dean flirt with the guy for her.

Dean seeming disappointed when learning that Aaron's flirting was fake.

The amount of time Dean and Cas spend staring at each other.

Dean canonically having an orgy with Crowley.

A woman saying that she knows when someone's pining for someone else to Dean, just for us to learn that Dean was never in love with Amara.

The set design and script choices that lead to a cross in the background while Dean said "I do." to Cas after he came back to life.

That time when Dean wanted to say something and Cas was like, "It's okay, I heard your prayer." But Dean still looked like he wanted to say something important.

Amara: [about Dean] "I can see inside your heart. Feel the love you feel. Except, it’s cloaked in shame.”

One thing that will always stick with me is in the very first episode of Psych, the main character called out his friend for gaming while at work and when he denied it, the guy said "right hand on the mouse, left hand on WASD" and that was more observational deduction than the entirety of BBC Sherlock

I love when Batman villains are obsessed with branding/marking the Bats. They have zero idea they’re fucking with the man who has like 10 dermatologists and three of the top black market plastic surgeons in the world on call to fly into Gotham at any time. The man eats drinks and breathes reconstructive surgery. He could pay for a whole new body’s worth of experimental skin grafts. Superman gets jealous of his skin quality sometimes.

The first time I read Dungeon Meshi I was like “I love all these characters but Mithrun is hands down my favorite, it’s been a long time since I went this feral for a fictional character.” And like. That’s still true. I still absolutely adore Mithrun and he’s extremely important to me and his character arc is so beautiful and also I want to kiss him. BUT.

I’m not gonna lie, the way that like 85% of western fans either ignore Toshiro or straight up dislike him is turning me into a Shuro stan from the sheer injustice of it all.

He should get more love. He’s wonderful. It’s a little tricky to get a read on him initially but once you learn more about him he’s such an interesting character with so much going on under the surface. He seems like the stereotypical Stoic Eastern Warrior type, but it’s only because he’s using that stoicism to hide his shyness and uncertainty and fear of doing or saying the wrong thing. (And honestly, if you really thought Ryoko Kui of all people would write such a flat stereotype of a character you haven’t been paying attention). By the end of the series it’s shown that despite his issues Toshiro is a good and kind person beneath the impassive noble facade he’s been taught to put up his whole life.

And! He’s such a perfect character foil for Laios! Because they both struggle socially (personally I think Toshiro is also autistic, like Laios, but I’ll probably make a separate post abt that bc this one is already getting long), but in ways that contrast each other. This brings them into conflict when at their core they both crave the same thing: a deep connection with their peers that they’ve struggled to find their entire lives. They’re two sides of the same coin, at opposite ends of the spectrum of outward responses to a very similar internal experience. It’s really well done, as is, like, every character/relationship in DM.

Anyway if no one else is gonna ride or die for Nakamoto Toshiro then I will, god damn. I have to do everything myself around here.

i would rather he just like. be fast. but i DO love when marc obviously doesn’t have speed for quali and he starts instantly looking for crazypants solutions WAY outside the agreed upon. just stay on the racing line and try your best :) philosophy that defines a lot of athletes in motorsport in similar situations. like NO instead he will lie cheat stab scheme cop an unwanted tow and if need be push so hard he fucking bins it into the gravel. it’s relentless. it often toes the line of what is sporting. it’s wildly entertaining. and when i said earlier that i “love” it i actually mean that he distresses me greatly

The Dracula Daily experience is so interesting on a third re-read. The first time reading was interesting for a similar reason--the small pieces of the story unfolding in real time allowing the horror of it to sink in, allowing for analysis and prediction and discussion to build on itself. But the third? We've been here before. We feel like we should have been here before. Jonathan has been here before--how could he not? We're sending him on his business trip again, watching him stumble into every choice because he can't change a bit of it, he's a book character he's not a person with agency but it feels like he should be because we've been on this ride twice now, both times over the same stretch of time as the characters. The reason the Daily experience is so interesting is it isn't like re-reading a book for the third time normally, where as much as you read with a new lens each time your pace will be different, you'll end up skimming over some things and focusing in on others. We're stuck on this train along with our good friend Jonathan Harker and it will move along the tracks as fast as Bram Stoker intended, goddammit. So we sit here yelling at this character written over a hundred years ago to just stop, turn around, don't start the story you're stuck in again. But he does.

The overarching plot of both of the spin-off games is quite similar, largely due to Kuusuke being the only character (from the manga) who fits the role of an antagonist. Both games start with setting up Kuusuke as the antagonist who introduces a strange game.

But, as that’d be too simple, it’s revealed that it Wasn’t actually Kuusuke

Kuusuke himself had good intentions all along

And then the final battle is against a 'second' Kusuo

(Though psi battle does all of this better in every way)
