The leader—a bare-headed hulking man with an unruly black beard, and a battle-worn axe slung across his shoulder—stepped forward, grinning wide enough to reveal yellowed teeth. His voice rumbled like distant thunder. “Well, well, what have we here? Travelers lost in our woods?”

Rumplestiltskin raised a brow, echoing the error through clenched teeth, “Your woods?” A small gleeful laugh escaped his lips, as a taunting glint flickered in his darkened eyes. “Oh dearie, I think you’re mistaken. But no matter—if you’re here to amuse me, do carry on.”

The bearded bandit chuckled, dark and humorless, before his gaze settled on Aislinn. “Amuse you? We’ll see who’s laughing when we’re done. Bet you’re hungry after your journey. We’re starving too—starving for a little fun.”

Disgust twisted Aislinn’s expression as another bandit stumbled forward—a lanky, pale man with gaunt features and a lecherous grin that revealed a smattering of missing teeth. “Pretty thing like you,” he sneered, his voice oily, as he moved to touch her hair “bet you’d be real sweet to take for a—"

“Someone needs to teach you some manners,” Aislinn interrupted sharply, and before the man could finish his sentence, she drove the heel of her palm into his nose with a sickening crunch. Blood spurted from his face as he staggered back, stunned. Without hesitation, Aislinn followed up with a swift knee to his groin. He let out a choked gasp and crumpled to the ground, groaning.

Rumplestiltskin snickered, clapping his hands together in a sharp motion, his delight evident. “Oh, this is going to be fun."

i am fucking Thinking about how death is handled in destiny 2 once again.

in regards to guardians it’s almost treated as like a joke or something deeply unserious? possibly even alien in a way due to how we kill and destroy and wreck havoc against our alien foes, but we ourselves never die. it’s really interesting to me cause there really isn’t a lot that can permanently kill a guardian so it makes sense we’d have this perception. like off the top of my head you have weapons of sorrow, hive rituals where the light is drained from a guardian, and paracausal beings which ofc includes other guardians. but that isn’t a lot, most deaths are not permanent and so this perception of death among guardians seems like death really isnt that big of a deal.

we jump off the tower and then get resurrected and have a little laugh about it. guardians constantly kill each other for fun in crucible. we are always doing incredibly stupid shit but we are rewarded because our enemies do not share in our immortality. it’s fascinating bc this not only makes us become riskier as time goes on due to being rewarded (enemies defeated) for our lack of self preservation, but this also makes guardians as a whole uniquely unsuited to handle grief and loss. if you spend your whole unlife winning and thinking that if a friend dies they’ll just come right back, it’s such a shock if (or rather when) they actually do die permanently. and then that guardian has to spend the rest of their immortal, undying life remembering. they have to live with that while they watch the newer guardians flood into the tower with the same naive disposition as they once had.

i’m sure guardians know theoretically they could die permanently at any point, especially because of those like dredgen yor, but i feel like for most it’s one of those things that most would say “well that would never happen to me” until it does happen. guardians seem to just have this inability to let go and it makes me want to bite drywall because i think abt it too long and start going feral. like!! the past may be the past but it sure doesn’t feel like it when you’re immortal and you remember that shit clear as day!!! aghhhh pacing around my room in circles and eating ROCKS

Hello everyone! I’m so excited (and a little nervous) to finally share my writing again after quite a long break. Writing has always been a huge part of me, but life got in the way for a while. This is the first story I’ve posted in years, and it feels like coming home.

While I’ve definitely grown as a writer since my teen fanfic days, there’s still a part of me that wonders how my voice holds up in today’s chaotic world. But I’ve poured my heart and soul into this, and I’m proud of how it’s turned out. Writing has always been a passion for me, and now I’m beyond happy to be back doing what I love.

I’m just starting out here, so if you’re reading this, thank you so much. Sharing this story with you, even if it’s just a few of you, means more than I can express. I hope my words find a place with you, and I can’t wait to share more.

When she strikes a deal with him, he becomes both her unlikely ally and a figure who draws her deeper into a world she barely understands.

Rumplestiltskin, ever the enigma, is not what he seems. Beneath his cunning exterior lies a complexity that Aislinn can't ignore, and soon, what started as a simple bargain turns into something far more personal. As they travel together through realms and face unexpected dangers, Aislinn begins to wonder if there’s more to him than the dark rumors that surround him.

For Aislinn, every step closer to the truth feels like a step toward a future she can't yet grasp. But the more time she spends with Rumplestiltskin, the more she finds herself drawn to him, despite her reservations. His presence stirs something inside her—an unfamiliar pull she can’t explain.

Rumplestiltskin, too, finds himself intrigued by Aislinn—a woman full of light and determination who challenges everything he thought he knew. Their growing connection is undeniable, but as they both face the unknown, they must decide how much they’re willing to risk for each other—and for the future they both seek.

morgana and arthur have a sleepover when they’re teenagers and morgana brings out this summoning spell and arthur is all “magic?!?!?! :o thats wrong we cant do that” and morgana just says “pussy.” and then arthur is helping her set everything up. they light the candles and chant in the old tongue and then BOOM a figure appears but it’s not the mighty god emrys the text talked of, it’s just a boy a couple of years younger than arthur, scared and confused, who answers to the name merlin rather than emrys. while they’re arguing, merlin goes stiff and is like “do you hear that?” and then trails out of morgana’s chambers in a trance and obviously morgana and arthur follow him and they end up way beneath the castle where theres a fucking dragon???? now emrys, the once and future king, and the witch are chillin w a dragon and talking about destiny. none of them are happy about this btw

I can’t help but feel like savathuns about to go down a familiar road as we did, but won’t get the same ending. Shes emotional, angry, had the sibling she had a chance to save ripped from her hands. She’s going to want revenge, and I think it might be the last thing she seeks.

she’s already made it clear she wants that, she’s already scheming again. But her brood is her own, cunning, wise, smart enough to know when to jump ship. Luzaku already dipped, she knew staying by sav’s side wasn’t worth it. And when the rest wise up? See their leader is sending them to die for some “revenge” for a dead family member they don’t know? Seeing her let her emotions take reign and send them into a battle they otherwise wouldn’t want? I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a call for new leadership.

would she die from this? I doubt it. She no doubt has plans for betrayal, I wouldn’t put it past her. However, shed no doubly be left without an alley at her side. I think it’d be ironic, wouldn’t it? Savathun, the hive god who wanted to break away from the “game” as she called it, got what she wanted, to not be involved in the grand scheme of things. What did it cost her? Everything… the hive god who wanted to be just “left alone” gets exactly what she craves… not a single person at her side, and not a soul to care for her.

I personally don't think she wanted to save Oryx, especially not that version of him, which was pretty much set in his ways and not entirely true to the Oryx she knew. Especially after she tried to reason with him and offered him the Light and it angered him greatly. I think that really got to her and it was probably the most honest and real she ever was, but Oryx's rejection of it made her more jaded. It was a chance, but he refused it and it's not even the Oryx she knew: the Echo was just a twisted memory of him. But I think that what she's mostly angry with us about is that we destroyed a powerful artifact that she could've used for herself in whatever way she wanted to.

Savathun's feelings about her family are complicated and she definitely feels something for them, but it's always on some condition and the level of usefulness they have for her. Savathun loves her siblings and her family, but she loves herself the most. She did not care when we killed the actual Oryx, or any of his children, or any of her children, nor does she care about a daughter she left in a time loop to infinitely die over and over.

I also think that she will be left alone with nobody at her side and nobody to care for her. And I can't find it in me to feel sorry for her. She rejected every single option to be reached and to change and to do better. Her whole angry speech was entirely hollow to me. Her telling us that we crossed a line? Her calling us "the Traveler's pet"?

This is, btw, incredible for me narratively, Savathun is SUCH a good character, genuinely one of the best characters in the whole story. Her hypocrisy and manipulation and the ways she affected the universe are peak. But I think that at the end of the day, she can't keep getting away with it, so to speak. After all that in the finale, I am really hoping that one day she will be dealt with like everybody else who thrived on destruction, atrocities and suffering of others. Unless, of course, she decides she's had enough of that and finally embraces the second chance she got.

And all of this is what makes her probably the most compelling character in the whole franchise. I really do want to see unhinged Savathun from now on, and also how she'll deal with Xivu and how Xivu will deal with her.
