Day 3 of 9 days of Lancaster. Sleepover/ Heaven is located on a girl's lap.

Jaune and his team are invited to team RWBY's sleepover. Which is a weird new feeling for him because he has never been invited to any sleepover, ever. So of course he accepted the invitation without a second thought. Because for the first time Jaune Arc is finally get to be invited to something...

After some time passes with Jaune and the rest from having fun. Feeling Nature's call Jaune excuses himself to go to the restroom. And after he is done, while on his way back he found Ruby sitting all by herself while clutching a wolf shaped plushie.

Jaune: Hey Rubes. What are you doing here all by your lonesome? The sleepover is over there you know.

Ruby: Oh? I just want to be alone for a while you know.

Jaune: Is it because of me. am I bumming you out or something. So that you have to leave? I get it Rubes if you don't want me around I'll just go home.

Ruby: What! No! What makes you think that? I don't think you're bumming me out Jaune. In fact I like you... I mean not like you, like you but I like being around you. You make me feel so comfortable and safe.

Jaune: So you like me. Then who do you like better me or mr. Wolfie?

Ruby: Ermm... Please don't make me choose. I mean I like you and all but mr. Wolfie have been with me since I was small.

Jaune: But you're still small.

Ruby: *pout* I'm not small! Just you wait Jaune. I'm going to drink so much milk that I will be taller than you.

Jaune: You just going to give yourself stomach ache.

Ruby: Fine then, if you going to keep teasing me then I choose mr. Wolfie and when I'm married he will be my best man and you will not even be invited.

Jaune: *gasp* Take that back!

Jaune: Okay if you want to be like that. *swipe the plushie* Then lets ask mr. Wolfie what he thinks about it.

What's that mr. Wolfie.

You don't actually think Ruby Rose is your friend.

Ruby: You're just putting words in mr. Wolfie's mouth. Give him back!

Jaune: *giggle* I'm only Joking Ruby. *pat Ruby's head to calm her down*

Ruby: (likes being petted) It's not funny. You went too far there.

Jaune: Well then you shouldn't choose a doll over me then. But yeah I'm sorry for going too far. *sit down next to Ruby*

Ruby: I'm just joking Jaune. There's no way I would choose you over anyone.

Jaune: My feeling still hurt Ruby. You have to find some way to make it up to me.

Ruby: Of course I'll do anything.

Jaune: Then let me rest my head on your lap.

Ruby: *giggle* You're not really upset are you?

Jaune: Of course not.

Ruby: Fine then wish granted.

Lap pillow is ready. Come here.

Jaune: Don't mind if I do. *rest his head on Ruby's soft cushiony lap* I'll never get tired of this feeling.

Ruby: Take as much time as you like. *Rubs Jaune's head*

Jaune: uhm that feels so good... And Ruby I don't mind if you want to have mr. Wolfie as your best man at your wedding. Just don't forget to invite me, okay?

Ruby: Well let's ask mr. Wolfie about it, shall we?

*whisper*

He said he doesn't mind being both our best man.

Jaune: Man mr. Wolfie is such a great guy... I mean Wolf guy, I think? We are so lucky to have him as our best man for our future wedding.

Ruby: Of course he is. And Jaune don't forget to invite me to your wedding too.

Jaune: *caress Ruby's cheek* I will... And Ruby I want you to introduce me to the lucky man first. I need to see if he is the right man for you.

Ruby: So I need the Jaune Arc's seal of approval first before tying the knot. Okay then tell me what kind of person that Jaune Arc would like as my future husband?

Jaune: Well he has to be handsome for start, smart, gentle and would put your need over himself. But I think most importantly he would always finds a way to make you happy.

Ruby: Wow. I think you might have too much of a high standard, there. But I think I might agree to it you let me choose someone for you too.

Jaune: Oh, then tell me what kind of woman will have to earn Ruby Rose's seal of approval?

Ruby: Beautiful, tall, big boobs. It's not really necessary but it's a plus to have, and she have to be great at fighting or else I won't approve of her being your wife.

Jaune: I think you only listed out her physical traits. Did you forget to add her personalities?

Ruby: Well as you long as you love her and want to be with her. Then I won't stand in your way. I will give her my blessing regardless of how I feel.

Jaune: Ruby. I don't know what to say, but thank you so much for being my friend...

Ruby: And thank you for being my friend too.

As the two find themselves lost in each other's company. They are blisfully unaware of the intense stare coming from right around the corner. Staring at them like a starving cat looking at their prey.

Blake: What the fuck is wrong with them....

Yang:Water?

Weiss:Check!

Yang:Gym clothes?

Blake:Check

Yang:Leader to guide/bond with us as we test our limits?

Ruby:Cry all you want. I can’t just change my plans. *grabs notes*

Yang:But you could!

Weiss:I can’t believe you got roped into helping Jaune study for his test.

Ruby:Weiss, it’s called “helping a friend.” Plus we made these plans first. It’s not like you’ll be alone.

On queue, a knock on the door made Blake open it. Nora came jumping in with her gym bag and already limbered up. Ren and Pyrrha.

Ren:She’s very excited about the new gym installed.

Nora:Today we sweat!!!

Pyrrha:Let’s try to leave the place intact. Ms. Goodwitch hasn’t forgiven us for the cafeteria.

Ruby:Is my naïve weapon enthusiast ready for me?

Pyrrha:He’s at his desk frantically writing notes. Y’know…if you need any help-

Ruby:I may not be a star student but when it comes to the history of weapons and their engineering, I might as well teach the class.

Weiss:Now if only you applied half that enthusiastic in Dust reaction experiments.

Ruby:Nobody can be perfect at everything.

Blake:The two star students of our year are literally in this room.

Weiss and Pyrrha: *all smiles*

Ruby:Pfft, so lightning struck twice? My point stands. Either way, I’ll have Jaune passing with flying colors in no time so don’t worry about it. Have fun everyone. We’ll join next time.

Pyrrha:If you insist.

Ren:It’s probably for the best.

Blake:Yeah we someone to save us from Yang and Nora’s routine ideas.

Yang:It’s not that bad!

Nora:The pain is weakness leaving the body.

Ruby:And on that threatening note… *grabs books* I’m off to across the hall!

Everyone funneled out of the dorm room and went on their way. Ruby waited for them to full turn the corner before knocking for times. The door was opened by Jaune and she gladly walked in. Pyrrha wasn’t joking; his desk had papers stacked and books opened.

Ruby:Wow, hard a work I see?

Jaune:I try. I’m just a bad test taker.

Ruby:We’ll have no fear! I’ve made mock tests and flash cards to drill all knowledge into you! Stick with me and-

The knight’s arms suddenly wrapped around her waist as he gently pressed his lips against hers, making Ruby jolt. A smile spread quickly on her face as she kissed him back harder while her arms hung off his shoulders. As their lips separated, Ruby couldn’t help but giggle as she went into for another chaste kiss. The slight grunt of approval he gave as he held her tighter made the girl shake her head playfully.

Ruby:Easy now. We should at least attempt to study. I talked a big about you passing. That means I should actually teach you. There’s an entire chapter dedicated to hand placements.

Jaune:Hehe, you are so ridiculous.

Ruby:Yet you looked intrigued. We can smooch later.

Jaune:It would be easier to get kissing out of the way now so our friends don’t potentially nterrupt later. Isn’t breaks an important part of studying? Besides, I don’t think I can survive an enraged Yang even if she’s tired and sore.

Ruby:Hmmm you drive a hard bargain, but I can’t have you too tired to learn. Tell you what, take the test and every correct answer gives you a kiss. FYI, there’s fifty questions.

Jaune:Oooo that is a good deal. Got a reward for if I actually pass the real test?

Ruby:Let’s aim higher, a hundred on the test earns you a date anywhere you want, my treat.

Jaune:And if I get the extra credit?

Ruby:*blushing* I’m open to ideas.

Jaune:What if…we did of this…

He raised her slightly, her feet struggling to stay grounded as he kissed her roughly. Ruby felt a tingle up her back as she refused to back down, deepening the kiss. His arms held her so close his scent both put her heart at ease and made it flutter.

Jaune:But a lot more?

Ruby:Deal~ but you’re getting ahead of yourself. *waves papers* Study time you dummy.

Jaune:Okay, you win. I’ll be a good student. *kisses neck*

Ruby: No flirting when testing is in progress!

Oobleck:Attention class! I have finished grading your weaponry tests and i must say I’m quite disappointed in the overall performance! Mr. Arc!!!

Jaune:Y-Yes…?

Oobleck:….Yours was not one of them.

He zips by everyone, giving them the grades they all earned. The usual suspects passed. Weiss, and Pyrrha even had a perfect score while Ruby on the other hand, waved around a 103%

Pyrrha:Congratulations. The extra credit stumped me.

Blake:I’m fine with a B

Ren:*holds 94* I’m very lucky all of you have varying guns I’ve seen in use.

Nora:*holds 88* Same hehe…

Weiss:It would be a tragedy if your hyper fixation didn’t help you pass with flying colors.

Yang:Why can’t you just say congratulations? A hundred questions and I got 99. But the real question is…*looks at Jaune*

Jaune:*holds 103* I owe a big thanks to my personal teacher.

Ruby:*dark red* Well would you look at that? Nice work.

Jaune:*smiles* Couldn’t have done it without you. I promise to pay you back in full.

Day 2: Roommates 9 Days of Lancaster

it was Ruby's third year in college, and it has been three years since Ruby live in dormitory. One holiday, Yang decided to come and visit Ruby to see how's she's doing and find out something rather revealing to her.

Yang: YOU DID WHAT?!!!

Ruby: *Guiltily* Nothing! Why are you so mad?!!

Yang paced back and forth, her emotions swirling with a mix of concern and frustration. She felt relieved that Ruby hadn't gotten involved with the boy roommate living next door, but at the same time, anger brewed within her. Yang was frustrated that Ruby hadn't taken any initiative to get to know him or make any friends at all.

Yang: Ruby, it's been three years, and you haven't even said a word to the guy next door? You need to come out of your shell. Making friends is important, especially during college.

Ruby sulks, disliking the idea of meeting her roommate.

Yang: *Grin Slyly* Come on, Ruby! It's time to meet your mysterious neighbor. You can't hide in your shell forever!

Ruby's eyes widen with disbelief and anxiety.

Ruby: *pleadingly* Yang, please! I'm not ready for this. Can't we find another way? I don't want to embarrass myself or make things awkward.

Yang knocks on the door.

Yang: Hello!

There was no respond

Yang Knocks the door again

Yang: Hello.. Is anybody home other than my sister?

There was another second of silence. The door creaks open slightly, revealing a tall man peering out with a timid expression. He speaks softly, his voice reflecting his own shyness.

Jaune: *softly* Um, who's there?

Yang steps forward, pulling Ruby gently alongside her. She takes the lead in introducing them.

Yang: *smiling* Hi there! I'm Yang, and this is my little sister Ruby. We thought it was about time we properly introduced ourselves to our neighbor. Nice to meet you!

Ruby shyly steps forward, her cheeks turning bright red.

Ruby: *awkwardly* H-hi, I'm Ruby. Nice to meet you.

Jaune's shy demeanor matches Ruby's, and he offers a small smile in return.

Jaune: *Waved Awkwardly* Hi…

The conversation then died.

Yang: So!… What's your name?

Jaune: *His face flushed up* O-Oh I… I'm Jaune Arc. Nice to meet you both.

Ruby shyly murmurs her own introduction, her face turning bright red. She struggles to find something to say, feeling overwhelmed by the situation.

Ruby: *whispering* H-Hi, I'm Ruby. It's… nice to meet you, Jaune.

They were both flustered and their anxiety are noticeable.

Jaune:*Awkwardly* Hi...

Ruby: Hi....

The awkward silence hangs in the air again as both Ruby and Jaune stand there, sweating unsure of what to say next. Yang, growing increasingly frustrated.

Yang: *In her head* Face palming and hitting herself to an imaginary wall Forget intention, These two are hopeless!!

9 Days Of Lancaster Day 7: Firsts

Yang: So, you got your first boyfriend.

Ruby: My first and my last.

Yang: Well... I'm glad you think so highly of Jaune, but I wouldn't get your hopes up like that. You never know what can happen during the course of a relationship.

Ruby: Nah, we're going to do everything together until the day we die.

Yang: ...Umm, okay?

Ruby: And when I say everything, I mean everything.

Yang: ...And people say I'm all or nothing...

Jaune: *Walks in* Hey, what are you two talking about?

Ruby: Speaking of firsts~.

First Kiss

Jaune: ...What does that-

Ruby: *Approaches her lovable dorky night*

Jaune: A-are you okay Ruby? You look kind of... hungry.

Ruby: Hungry for love! *pounces of Jaune, proceeds to have a make out session on the floor*

Yang: ...I've got a bad feeling about this.

Ruby: Did you make sure to pack extra snacks?

Yang: Don't worry Ruby, he'll be back safe and sound soon enough. He's weirdly durable.

Ruby: I know he'll be fine, but I won't be!

Yang: What do you mean?

Ruby: 14 days without a single cuddle! Do you know how bad cuddle withdraws can be? I'll be like Uncle Qrow on a bad day in like two hours.

Day 8 of 9 days of Lancaster. Meeting the family/ How Jaune almost lost his Life.

PSA: Hey sorry for the really late post but I been really busy with life. But not to worry the last one will be posted soon enough.

Two people can be seen sitting together in a couch. A boy and a girl. The boy for some reason can't seem to shop shaking from his seat. While the girl sitting next to him are trying to calm him down as best as she can.

Ruby: Jaune please stop shaking.

Jaune: I-I can't Ruby I'm too worried about what will going to happen. What if they don't like me.

Ruby: You worry too much. They will like you.

Jaune: Oh, here they come. I hope you're right Ruby...

The door opens to reveals two adults entering the room. The two then quietly walks towards them and sit across from Ruby and Jaune.

Summer: So is this the famous Jaune Arc I keep hearing about?

Ruby: Oh yeah, so anyway mom I want to introduce you to Jaune.

Jaune: H-hello mrs. Ruby's mom. I-I mean mrs. Rose. My Name is Jaune Arc, a pleasure to meet you.

Summer: Oh such a charming young man. And it's a pleasure to meet you too Jaune. Hey dear, why don't you go and say Hi to Jaune too?

Tai: *grumble, grumble*

Summer: Oh Tai my love, please be nice to the handsome young man. Or else you'll be sleeping on this here couch for the night.

Jaune: Well not this boy that's for sure. I prefer to be doing it with a single person. And I would like that person to be you Ruby.... That is of course, if you want it?

Tai: Really?!

Summer: A gaming competition?

Tai: Sum-Sum I might not like the boy but I think you're going too far here.

Summer: Okay Jaune you want to live another day, right? Then you and Ruby need to give me grandchildren right now!

Summer: It's the only way for me to have grandchildren! Now let me start by taking off your pants.

Tai: Summer what are you doing!?

Ruby:*walks into room* Jaune? You in here?

Jaune:*laying on the couch* Over here.

Ruby:The trip to Vacou take you out?

Jaune:Everything took me out.

Ruby:That’s fair. You okay?

Jaune:I just need a bit of rest. Did you need something?

Ruby walks and lays down on the couch with him, his arms automatically wrapping around her to hold her close. Tension fades from her as she eases into the embrace.

Jaune:Is this for me or for you?

Ruby:Can’t it be both? Reminds me of nights going to Haven. Seems so long and now.

Jaune:You have no idea….

Ruby:Right…sorry. *rubs his back*

Jaune:I’m not upset.

Ruby:I know. I just…I don’t know. I miss this, us. Things aren’t like they used to be though.

Jaune:That’s not all bad. You’re glowing brighter than ever. For a time I never thought I’d see you ever again. Every day I thought of you.

Ruby:I’m sorry I yelled at you.

Jaune:I’m sorry I made you cry. *plays with her hair*

Ruby:…Jaune, things have been very difficult and time has changed lots of things. So…is there still an us, or is this moment just that? I mean it’s not like we really defined what we before, but I really, really don’t want lose what this is again.

Jaune:If you’re asking if I love you then the answer is I never stopped. We just have some quirks to figure out.

Ruby:*red*….*hides face* Now I know time has passed. You said it so casually.

Jaune:If I learned anything, it’s to say things when you can, right? *shuts eyes* I miss us too.

Ruby:Hehe, that’s a relief. I love you too. *looks up*

Jaune:Zzzzz

Ruby:…*smiles* Sweet dreams.

She gently kisses him then rests her head on him again.

Part 9 of 9 days of Lancaster. Wedding/ Jaune finally gets cucked for being dense. And the return of Mr. Wolfie.

This the happiest day of her life and yet Ruby Rose or soon to be Ruby Pine-Rose. Can't stop herself from pacing around in her wedding dress inside the bride's waiting room while talking to herself.

Ruby: Oh what do I do, what do I do. I know I shouldn't go through with this. I mean marriage?I'm not ready for it!

Jaune: *opens door* Ruby are you ready yet?

Ruby: Jaune! *runs up to hug Jaune*

Jaune: Hey Ruby. It's nice to see you too. But please be careful not to scrumped up your dress before the wedding.

Ruby: I don't care it's my wedding day and I want to spend it anyway I want. And I want to spend it with my best friend in the whole of remnant.

Jaune: Really, your best friend. So I'm a better friend compared to Weiss, Blake and Yang then?

Ruby: Ehhhh.... I'm going to say you ranked somewhere below them.

Jaune: Ouch!

Ruby: B-but at least you are my best male friend.

Jaune: Even more than Sun?

Jaune: *hugs her tighter* It's okay Ruby I was just joking. I knew you didn't mean it.

Ruby: Well it's not funny. I thought you really hate me for real... You might not be my best male friend but you are important to me. So much so, that I can't see myself without you.

Jaune: Then tell me what's been bothering you?

Ruby: I-I don't think I can go through with it. I don't want to get married to Oscar.

Jaune: Ruby.... You don't mean that. You Love Oscar.

Ruby: I do love him... But I can't shake the feeling that I'm doing the wrong thing.

Jaune: Ruby that's just the jitter talking.

Ruby: What if it isn't. What if I'm making a big mistake by marrying Oscar?

Jaune: You're not. Any person you choose for marriage can't possibly be wrong. And I trust you.

Ruby: Jaune do you want to run away together?

Jaune: What?

Ruby: Let's run away. It'll be just the two of us together. We can go travel across Remnant as two travelling Huntsman.

Jaune: You're not making any sense Ruby. Think about your family and friends that will be affected by this.

Ruby: Yeah... You're right I was just kidding.

Jaune: Look. It's not like I don't understand where it's coming from but relax, Rubes. You have nothing to worry about. And if you're still feeling nervous I know someone that can help with that.

Ruby: Really, who?

Jaune: *Rubs Ruby's head* That's something for you to know later. *kiss Ruby's cheek* See you at the Altar Ruby.

Ruby: *blush* (how could he just kissed the bride on her wedding day. Stupid Jaune, but thank you.)

After finally getting the "courage" She needed from Jaune. Ruby finds herself infront of the red carpet leading to her own altar.

Ruby: (This is it Ruby. No more excuses. You got this. It's not like your wedding day is some sort of a life altering event that will have an impact for the rest of your life.... OMG I can't do this!!! I can't do this.)

Mr. Wolfie: Hi there Ruby, why are you sad on your happiest day?

Ruby: Mr. Wolfie... Jaune. Why do you have my old plushie in your hands?

Mr Wolfie?: I'm not Jaune. My Name is Mr. Wolfie. And I'm your best friend in the whole wide world. So tell your best friend what's wrong?

Ruby: *giggle* So stupid... But that's so you. All right I'll play along. I'm having second thought about marrying the man I love and I might need a little encouragement to get me going.

Mr Wolfie?: Oh what are you suggesting?

Ruby: I want you to kiss me on the lips...

Mr Wolfie?: Oh? Ok then Ruby. *use the plushie to kiss Ruby*

9 Days of Lancaster Day7: Firsts

Being a huntsman was the dream, a civic duty with many ups and down. Right now, Ruby was a little down. A month out in the field had really taken the wind out of her sails, but thankfully it had ended in success. She lugged herself back to her apartment one step at a time. Upon opening the door, her eyes lit up as a big “Welcome Back” banner hung from the ceiling. The smell of fresh foods on platters made her stomach and the tv flashed with movie selections she had missed since she was gone.

Ruby turned to the kitchen to see her boyfriend, Jaune, walking out with another platter of sandwiches. He quickly noticed her and flashed a grin.

Jaune:Welcome back! Glad you’re safe.

Ruby:….*sniffling* When i gave you a key to house sit while I was away, I didn’t expect this!

Jaune:You told me your team was coming home and I…got a little excited. Please tell me they came here with you. I might’ve made too much.

Ruby:Oh don’t worry. I could eat a mountain and still make some leftovers. Last thing I wanna do is cook. *looks at tv shelf*….Did you buy me videos games?

Jaune:Technically I just really wanted to play them and thought to bring them over. A month was plenty of time to beat them.

Ruby:Jaune, I actually will cry. I love all of this but you make it feel like we didn’t keep in touch when possible.

Jaune:I know. *rubs head* I just…really missed you. A mission has never taken this long for either of us. Guess I got a little anxious hehe.

Ruby looked at the boy’s sheepish smile that made her heart feel full. She had remembered something funny Yang told her once. Something about daughters finding a little bit of their father in their significant others. The way Jaune was acting right now brought foggy memories of how Ruby’s dad always greeted mom home so lovingly and fretted about her safety. It made more sense now that Ruby has her own experiences leaving on dangerous trips.

Ruby walked up to Jaune with purpose, wrapping her arms around him tightly. Her hands spread across Jaune’s back while her head rested against the steady beat of his heart. His arms responded in kind, wrapping her in a warmth that made the fatigue of a journey melt away.

Ruby:I’m home.

Jaune:Welcome back.

Ruby:I smell awful, don’t I?

Jaune:Little bit. *squeezes tighter* still not gonna let go.

Ruby:*snorts* Good. I don’t wanna leave yet.

Day 6: First kiss

Talking about it

After RWBY+J arrived at Vacuo everything was almost like perfect. As the Tree said they were just in time when they were needed. It was amazing how all the kingdoms were united for the war against Salem. Hunters and huntresses united for the cause. Everyone organising for the day/s that this will take. It took just some time for RWBY+J to also be part of this. Everyone were so relieved that they were alive. However, during that time Jaune noticed something odd and he was finally able to talk about it with Ruby.

Jaune: Hey Ruby, can we talk for a moment?

Ruby: Oh... I-I need to talk to my team I’m sorry—

Jaune: I’m sure they’ll understand. Please just listen to me

Ruby: ... okay

Jaune: Are we... *sighs* Are we good?

Ruby: What do you mean?

Jaune: You know what I mean. In the Ever After we—

Ruby: Jaune of course we are. Don’t worry alright? Can I go now—

Jaune: Then why you don’t talk to me? Ever since we arrived every time I wanna talk to you, you aren’t available there’s always an excuse just like now and when you want to tell me something is either your team or someone else who does it for you. It’s like you’re avoiding me and I can’t help but think it’s because of what happened in the Ever after-

Ruby: It’s not that. It’s just...I-I don’t think this is a good time-

Jaune: Then when would it be a good time? We are about to face a war and it’s better to settle things now.

Ruby: Please it’s not what you think. I-I’m sure we can talk it later. It’s not that much important now-

Jaune: It is important to me! *sighs* Ruby I’m sorry for what I said in the Ever After I wasn’t in my right mind. You’re an special friend to me and I need to know if you could forgive me, if we could be friends just like before..

Ruby: Jaune... neither of us were in our right mind I also hurt you back there. I’m the one who feels sorry. The thing is.. I don’t think our relationship is going to be the same as before. Whenever I see you I think about us arguing there, I can’t face myself talking to you like before, it hurts me that I hurt a dear friend and that I might do it again. Because I know I’m not perfect and you don’t deserve a friend like me-

Jaune: Ruby.. You know I understand for what you went through. I don’t need a perfect friend. No one is but that’s the risk we take when we trust in someone. If I could go back in time I would choose you as my friend again without a doubt because you’re just the friend I need.. just the way you are.

Ruby: *sniffs* Why are you doing this? Why does it matter now?

Jaune: It matters to me because I care about what you think, I care about you. In my hardest times you brought the best out of me, and also to the people around you. Perfect or not I loved that you were capable to give hope in any circumstance and you’re still that person! I want to remind you I still trust you and nothing it’s going to change that even if something happens during the war, you can count on me

Ruby: Stop... *sniffs* You know what you are doing. *sniffs* You know me so well and that’s the thing you knew where to hurt me but you also know how... *sniffs* y-you also know how to-

Jaune: Ruby?

Ruby: You also know how to make me feel things! Things I never experienced before. It’s so strange *covering her face* How can you say those things so easily? I can barely look you in the eyes. Is it because I’m the only one feeling this?

Jaune: Ruby... *getting closer to her*

Ruby: *takes steps back* To be honest with you I can’t be your friend again without feeling uneasy about these feelings. I just can’t pretend that nothing changed because it did and I can’t ignore it. Whenever I see you, I feel overwhelmed, I feel angry, sad, fear, relieved, happy, nervous then again angry, sad-it’s like an endless cycle. I have a lot of thoughts and all of them get in a conclusion.. but I shouldn’t feel like this. We are about to face a war that depends on everyone’s life I can’t- I mustn’t feel like this. That’s why I distanced myself from you. I didn’t wanna make you feel uncomfortable so we can stay focus on what’s more important. I know it was selfish I’m sorry for putting you through all this..

Jaune: You... You are not the only one dealing with those feelings.. *gets closer*

Ruby: *raises her head* I- No- D-Don’t look at me like that. W-we can’t. What if something happens? What if someone dies? What if I have to make a sacrifice? I don’t want to see you suffer again I want you to be happy even if it’s not with m-

Before she could finish Jaune kissed her. Instantaneous yet so gently. His hands were around her face, kissing her shaking lips softly, evoking from her sensations she had never know she was capable of feeling.

Jaune: Wouldn’t be better to have something to look forward after the war? And if you want to know I’ll choose you to spend the rest of my life with *smiles*

Ruby smiled at him with teary eyes and before he could say something, she kissed him back with a swift gradation of intensity that made him cling to her as the only solid thing in a dizzy swaying world.

9 Days of Lancaster Day8: One Bed!

[The Kindom of Vale, nighttime]

Expect the unexpected; quite a simple rule taught in many professions but yet hard to grasp all the same. Jaune consider himself a thinker, and more importantly, a problem solver for those in need. He was currently putting that into practice by sitting on the couch of his humble apartment. He’d normally be asleep by now, however that wasn’t an option until…

knock knock knock

Bingo! Jaune stood up to open the door. On the other side was his very close friend and ex girlfriend, Ruby. The Reaper held a duffel bag and had her clothes hastily put on, leaving a few belts unbuckled. She walked inside so he could close the door. Ruby dropped her back near the couch and immediately turned around with her hands together.

Ruby:Thank you thank you thank you thank you!

Jaune:Hehe, it’s no problem. You’d do the same.

Ruby:Maybe if I was awake at this hour! I still can’t believe the pipes bursts throughout my building at a time like this.

Jaune:Expect the unexpected, as Ozpin always says. Did your room flood badly?

Ruby:When I left it wasn’t the worst but I’m not surprised if I come back to a few things ruined. Manage to grab a few important things though. A few clothes, hygiene supplies, Crescent Rose.

Jaune:I’m a little surprised you didn’t call Yang before me.

Ruby:She has Blake over….

Jaune:I’m sure she would’ve made room for you.

Ruby:Oh she would, but not only is she further away, but her and Blake aren’t exactly…quiet.

Jaune:Ah…well I don’t think they would’ve with you aro-

Ruby:I’ve been with them before. They thought I was asleep.

Jaune:I’m so sorry. Too bad Weiss is out of town.

Ruby:Even if she wasn’t I have a sneaking suspicion she’d be in bed hours ago. I know she’d let me in but waking Weiss is a dangerous experience. So yeah, thanks again. *bows slightly* I’ll be out of your hair in two days.

Jaune:Y’know you’re allowed over whenever? It really isn’t a big deal. I…I’ve never changed the locks.

Ruby:Oh..I assumed you did. Guess I destroyed that key for nothing.

Jaune:You could’ve given it back.

Ruby:Mmmm nah. *smiles*

Jaune playfully rolls his eyes and begins walking over to the couch and goes to lay down.

Ruby:Ummm, what are you doing?

Jaune:Going to sleep?

Ruby:Jaune I brought a pillow and cover. I’m not robbing you of your bed.

Jaune:It’s fine. The couch is comfy.

Ruby:Then let me have it! You already took me in. That’s enough.

Jaune:*stands* Ruby, I already changed the sheets. The bed is all yours.

Ruby:*raises brow*…..

Jaune:….*red* Out of etiquette! That’s what you’re supposed to do.

Ruby:Hey, I don’t know everything you do in your spare time. Could’ve found some random girl to pass the time.

Jaune:Rubes…

Ruby:Joking, I tease. Seriously though, I’m not letting you sleep on the couch in your own home.

Jaune:Well I’m not leaving you on the couch.

Ruby:Then I guess we’re sharing a bed! *hands on hips*

Jaune:I guess we are- excuse me?

Ruby:You heard me! *flustered* I’m not backing down so compromising is all that’s left.

No amount of expecting could prepare Jaune for that answer. Ruby and him had only dated for nearly two months before they broke it off. They had a few…experiences together; but nothing as bold or as intimate as one might expect. Certainly nothing that required them sleeping together in a shared bed. There were missions out in the wild but that wasn’t the same at all! There were no grimm around to keep an eye on.

Jaune:You’re serious, aren’t you?

Ruby:When have I ever joked about my treatment towards you? I refuse to take from you! But uhhh *rubs head* I might need proper sleep wear. I don’t think I packed that. Hehe, whoops.

Jaune: *inhales* Unpack and take your bath if you need it. I get you something cozy.

Ruby:Sounds like a plan!

How did this happen!? How did a night become so stressful, and yet Jaune wasn’t upset by the turn of events. It was surprising more than anything.

Ruby walked into the bedroom wearing his black basketball shorts and her own tank top she surprisingly grabbed from a pile of clothes. The shorts were a tad big on her but she mind. It would’ve matched the blue tank top he had on currently. He also wore a pair of orange shorts. Her eyes directed themselves at the bed. It was barely bigger than a twin.

Ruby:Never thought I’d love being petite until now.

Jaune:Couch is still an option for m-

The girl ran past him and flopped onto the bed. Despite her stubbornness, Ruby could tell her face was little red. Between the sheets and clothes, Jaune’s scent was very noticeable. He turned off the lights but she could still see his eyes on her as he walked towards the bed.

Jaune:You’re not gonna let me sleep on top of the covers while you’re underneath, are?

Ruby:Okay now that’s actually cruel no matter how you look at it. No one should be struggling to pull up a cover in their sleep.

He couldn’t argue with that. He pulled the cover and got into bed with her. Normally he’d sleep facing the wall, but as he was greeted with silver eyes inches away, Jaune’s face grew hot immediately. Time to face the door!

Jaune:Night~

No more words were spoken, at least for awhile. Moonlight barely pierced the blinds but it was enough for Ruby to see the outline of Jaune’s body. Had he been working out? Though they kept in touch, they hadn’t hung out nearly as much after their breakup two months ago. Now they found themselves sharing the same bed; something completely foreign yet familiar to her. They had only been together as long as they’ve been apart. Now he felt closer than ever yet so far. Actually, that was part of the problem last time, but Ruby felt like this situation wasn’t at all the same.

Ruby:….You still awake?

Jaune:…..

Ruby:Jaune, you’re moving an inch. You’ve either died or currently holding your breath.

Jaune:*exhales* I was trying to ease tension.

Ruby:By passing out?

Jaune:Not my best idea. Buckled under pressure.

Ruby:Hehe, thanks again. I’ll be sure to pay you back.

Jaune:Ruby, I could’ve said no. You don’t owe me anything.

Ruby:I know but…it feels like I’m a squatter or bum otherwise.

Jaune:Pfft, what am I? A landlord?

Ruby:Hehe, I think you’re too kind for that job. You’d knock gently and say please.

Jaune: “I know times are tough but please pay by the first.”

Ruby: “But funds are so tight. I don’t have the money.”

Jaune: “You’re gonna get kicked out if you at least can’t put some money down.”

Ruby:… “There’s no other way I can pay, sir?”

She put her arm around him, making him jolt a little as she clung to him. She could feel his heart beating as her hand found Jaune’s chest.

Ruby:I’ll do anything

Jaune:*blushing*…. Anything?

Ruby:Name it.

Jaune removed her arm from his body. He turned around slowly, rolling overtop of Ruby and staring down at the blush stricken girl. The was painfully silent as they didn’t move an inch.

Ruby:W..Well? Name it.

Jaune:….You’re not the type of person to just throw yourself at a someone.

Ruby:When have you ever just been someone? And who knows, I’m not exactly the same person. Are you?

Jaune:You mean, “emotionally distant?”

Ruby:I…did say that, didn’t I? If it makes you feel better, I was a bit “reckless and pushy at times.” Guess that last part still rings true, given where we’re at.

Jaune:Don’t put it all on you. I…wasn’t trying too hard to avoid this. So, “anything?”

Ruby:*nods slowly*

Jaune:In that case, Ruby, do you wanna try us again?

Ruby:…That is…not what I thought you were going to say. *red*

Jaune:Changed or not, you aren’t the kind of person to do something like this on a whim or casual fun. Just like you know I’d never find some random stranger to pass the time. You put effort into what you want, and so do I.

Ruby:Sounds like our mutual breakup is more like we took a break. That…actually makes me feel a lot better. So there’s been no one else?

Jaune:Nope. Ruby, I did not change my locks. We still talked regularly.

Ruby:Cut me some slack. I’m no pro at all this, and I’m sorry if I made it feel like if you should’ve been-

Jaune lowered himself and silenced her apology. Ruby felt her heart leap, kissing him back instinctively and wrapping her arms around his shoulders. Two months without this was for too long. Their kiss ended but she refused to let him go.

Ruby:Just so we’re honest with each other, I may not actually know if Blake is at Yang’s. Sorry for lying.

Jaune:Heh, such a sneaky girlfriend I have.

Ruby:I can’t help that I missed my boyfriend. Now stay close. There’s not a lot of room in this bed~

Jaune:There’s enough for what I want to do. *leans in*

Ruby:Hehe, see? You really did change your sheets for nothing.

Jaune:Hush. *kisses her*
