what i really loved about the therapy scene was how much space was given for carlos to feel all of it. we know tk's been in therapy before, been to rehab, etc, is used to speaking about his feelings in a setting like this, but carlos isn't. and i feel like therapy as a whole would be very difficult for him, but in this scenario, when he believes that they're there because of him (much more complicated than this for sure, but this is how i can see him perceiving it), i'm so glad things were allowed to breathe as he started processing what was happening in real time.
things like the transition from carlos focusing on specific words as deflection (when the therapist asks how they're doing, some nights vs. all nights) to the look of betrayal on his face when tk reveals to her that carlos thinks it's connected to one of gabriel's old investigations that we watch him sit with for a few seconds, before deciding not to press on specifics and agreeing. we watch him make the decision not to be right, or to have things framed exactly how he personally would, we watch him choose to commit to therapy, to be honest and speak in a way that moves them forward.
seeing how hard this is for him, and watching him choose it anyway. choose tk, and choose their marriage. it was so perfectly done.

Honestly a little surprised that you are "not mad" that Carlos didn't tell TK this huge secret in all the time they've been together. Especially after the way he acted about TK and his sponsor. Yeah the set-up for this storyline was non-existant and that's bad writing, but also, Carlos's complete lack of remorse and TK's complete lack of a reaction to the news makes me feel like I'm watching pod people. Is TK gunning for sainthood? Even if the set-up was there the way they handled the reveal just makes no sense.
Look, this is a man who spent four-six months of a break up lying to his parents about the break up and the fact that they weren’t living together anymore in a time period that included major holidays AND TK’s birthday.
He hates confrontation (I have a whole meta on it) and his anxiety is like for real bad (therapy Carlos my love please)
This is not new or news.
I’m going to detour (but bring it back around): this morning I was catching up on the Drama Queen’s podcast and they were discussing a storyline in which a half a married couple admits he’s lied by omission and his wife was physically injured due to this lie. And Sophia Bush (my angel, my love) brought up how as a person with severe anxiety (like me and Carlos and the queen herself) learns from a very young age to not bring their anxiety and worries to other people but to feel that they have to have a solution to the problem before they let others in.
The need to have an solution ready before he loops anyone else in is a VERY common behavior in Carlos. We see it from season one through season three. This is an area of growth for him.
Do I believe Carlos should have told TK long ago: yes.
Is this a flaw in Carlos’s character: absolutely
Does TK have every right to be pissed and hurt: most certainly.
But it’s Carlos turn to do the growing. We’ve gotten three seasons of TK’s character development arc start with a failed proposal in the series premiere and end with a successful proposal in the season three finale. TK’s ability not to immediately internalize this as Carlos thinking he was too fragile to handle this news and recognizing that Carlos has been drowning in his anxiety and guilt and shame over this and THAT is why he didn’t say anything, is outstanding and amazing and WHY Tarlos works. They take turns being the messy one.
So no, I’m not mad with Carlos. I don’t think not telling TK with the depth of guilt and shame and Carlos’s history of conflict avoidance is out of character. I do not blame others for being mad at Carlos and TK definitely has every right to surface his mad about this later after processing and when Carlos isn’t on an anxiety spiral.
I said it last season and I will say it again this season: we are watching two men with two different manifesting mental health issues navigate a relationship. They’re both doing their best but they will still hurt each other in the process of doing their best. Sometimes their best isn’t enough.
That’s marriage, kids, especially when you throw in depression, anxiety, substance abuse, internalized homophobia, and stressful jobs.

gwyn's favorite song being the one that it is, is so methodical and well thought out. not only is it gorgeous, (maybe there's some bias, it's my favorite sondheim) but the image of tk growing up, listening to it so many times that he feels it in his bones, is so in touch with his character.
carlos being that someone he has to let in, as seen in the police station scene. carlos being that someone who's feelings he spares, as seen in the juice bar scene when carlos has to ask, "are we even a we?"
carlos being that someone to know him too well, each and every time tk thinks he needs to second guess himself. carlos being that someone who crowds him with love, each and every day that carlos gets to wake up next to him.
carlos being that someone who'll always be there, as frightened as him of being alive; carlos being the person who made him feel whole to the point he's afraid there will always be a of him piece missing if they're not together but that's the risk of love.
tk met carlos, and just like that, his mother's favorite song made sense.

Can we just talk about this for a moment?
We saw the rise of Glasses!Carlos with the Katie Cat kidnapping case (say that ten times fast). And while they continue to make appearances when Carlos is playing the world’s best armchair detective (and when he’s casually reading), even with his complaints about chronic eye strain, we’ve only seen him whip out the glasses in the comfort of his own home. With TK.
Yes, Carlos has been in full Detective Reyes mode all day, trying to track down Marjan. And while that probably involved the return of screen fatigue, what with all the phone maps and laptop police reports, so did scrubbing all that surveillance footage hunting for Owen’s stalker. We didn’t see Carlos in glasses in those scenes with Sadie, even at the loft, but we do here — in a hospital waiting room, with the entire 126 crew. That could be because, much like bringing enough tacos to feed everyone, he’s finally secure enough in his place within this family to show them this side of himself — the Clark Kent instead of the Superman. It could be because they’ve become a full extension of TK in his head — TK, who’s out like a light with Carlos as a pillow, just like he does at home. It could be because he’s just that tired. But it feels like A Decision, whether it’s conscious or not.
Whatever the reason, it’s precious.

I watched the first episode of season 5 for 911 Lonestar and I really wish I had stuck to my initial decision to not touch s5, especially after Grace's departure was announced.
Genuinely that was the most boring, most disheartening episode to watch. you can tell the writing has gone rapidly downhill because every single actor feels like they got worse, but I know they didn't, it's just shitty writing. I didn't exactly have high hopes for season 5 given everything, especially with how they ended up treating the tarlos wedding and Gabriel's insanely unprompted death last season, but somehow, somehow, season 5 is so much worse than I could've ever predicted. I'm almost glad it's the cancelled after this season, because they took a decent show with characters I loved and have been slowly ruining them with each passing season.
s5e1 was so bad I couldnt even enjoy the tarlos scenes. do you know how bad something has to be for me to not find at least a little bit of joy out of queer characters being happy together? how do you mess up TK & Carlos to the point of being awkward to watch? I didn't think you could make TK & Carlos awkward to watch even if you tried bc the actors had such good chemistry, but apparently you just need stilted enough writing.

Real life is stranger than fiction. Some of the instances in 9-1-1 Lonestar plots with real life examples.
The examples have been fictionalised and sensationalised and made to fit Texas even if they’re from across the world.
Season 2 of Lonestar
02x01 Back In The Saddle - a man steal a tank and goes on a rampage
Real life: the story of Shawn Nelson who stole a tank and went on a rampage in 1995
02x02 - 2100° - Pilot Knob volcano erupts
Real life: The volcano that erupts in this episode, Pilot Knob, is a real (although extinct) volcano located south of Austin, Texas. (IMDb) obviously it’s never erupted but others have and fiction doesn’t that’s to be realistic, it has to be believable. I believed there was a volcano so I’m going to let it pass.
02x03 - Hold The Line - wildfires spread across Texas
Real life: they’re wildfires they happen everywhere. Here is a resource if you’re Texan or really into statistics.
02x04 - Friends With Benefits - a wedding suffers terrible food poisoning
Real life: (there were so many examples)
Tumblr media
02x05 - Difficult Conversations - Grace helps a woman in a domestic abuse situation who ordered ‘pizza’
Real life: this is very common and we’re told to do it if we need help. Here is the domestic abuse helpline for the UK for those that need it and here is an org for the USA.
Tumblr media
02x06 - Everyone and Their Brother - a conspiracy theorist tries to protect his property with land mines.
Real life: I won’t lie I struggled here and read some heart breaking statistics about landmine deaths. I also found a Reddit where men argued they should be allowed to put landlines on their property so it’s out there, I just can’t find a specific source.
02x07 - Displaced - a stowaway fell from a plane into a funeral
Real life: this happens more than you expect. The latest case happened in London where a man fell from a plane and landed in a residential garden. Article here
02x08 - Bad Call - a man with a fake bomb robs a bank and claims he was forced to do it
Real life: this happened in Scotland (again)
Tumblr media
02x09 - Saving Grace - Grace and Judd’s car go over a bridge and into a river below.
Real life: this happens almost every day all over the world.
02x10 - A Little Help from My Friends - teenager gets hands caught inside an ice cream machine
Real life:
Tumblr media
02x11 - Slow Burn - serial arsonist
Real life: they talk about this in the show but John Orr
02x12 - The Big Heat - again arsonist plot and Charles aneurysm
Real life: here is how to spot an aneurysm but I hope you never have too.
02x13 - One Day - A man starts a hostage situation to save his son on life support
Real life:
Tumblr media
02x14 - Dust To Dust - A dust storm envelopes Texas (also known as a Haboob)
Real life: again freak weather is a common thing across the world but here is the USA weather guide to dust storms
Season one here

Having thoughts and feelings about this interview moment and how Ronen clearly interprets TK’s…
(under the cut because of the tw tags)
…overdose in 1x01 as a deliberate attempt to end his own life, rather than an accidental overdose, or an unfortunate drug batch.
While it’s hinted at, it’s never actually been confirmed in canon, but I’ve always interpreted it that way too (imo his denial to Owen has always sounded like he was just saying what he thought Owen wanted to hear/what he was trying to convince himself was true).
And now I’m wondering how much that is Ronen’s influence - his headcanons, and the acting choices he makes, and how clearly his intentions come across.
It also raises so many other questions in my mind about younger TK and his thoughts/experiences/relationships, as well as his mental health and coping mechanisms. There’s just so much interesting stuff there, that I would love to pick Ronen’s brain about what he thinks and how he frames those experiences when acting scenes out. I would 10/10 read an entire novel on the subject.
Idk where I’m going with this, just in my pre-series era TK feels tonight.

Now all we need is a queer club scene a la lone Star.
Buck would absolutely flourish, henren would be flirting, Eddie would be sitting at the bar doing a beer watching Buck like a hawk and sometimes smiling, Tommy would be in the void floating (sorry babe I'm a Buddie 4 lifer), and for a lil pizzazz Maddie and Chimney also go.
(it evolved into a tiny fic 🥺if you wanna read you can🥺)
ao3 link :
Ravi is probably there somewhere with someone in the VIP section looking down at them both happy but also a bit worried to see them.
(he's been working with them for a while now he knows the rumors of that many collective jinx powers they hold)
He sends them drinks periodically and they all wonder if someone is about to get a sugar daddy and then realize they're all couples so who's the couple who's getting a third?
Hen has her hands permanently glued to her wife's side and her head in her neck. She's murmuring sweet nothings and Karen giggles it away as she rubs any part of her that's closest to her and sips her drink.
Chimney and Maddie chat as they become a two-headed, four-limbed creation that smells of tequila, love, and laughter.
Maddie is constantly getting compliments on her shiny outfit and nails and ends up beside Buck periodically through the night, both of them like radiant sunlight to others.
Chimney also magically appears next to her almost instantaneously but vanishes and returns with drinks for his friends eventually chatting up the biggest guys he can on their gym regimen and suggesting they buy a calendar to support the new Asian Sex Symbol.
Of course, they sell a few copies.
Buck is the crown Jewel of the drag queens who are all shapes, sizes, and identities getting off of a show to have a nice night out.
He's marvelous and praises their outfits before quickly getting sucked into impromptu makeup and drag lessons, cards for shows, drunken histories, sexuality stories, and good ole fun lip-syncing.
And of course, since he's a bright star who everyone loves, many people begin their hunt.
A quick wink, a lingering smile, a hand on his lower back that lingers as long as a guy slides past him.
Okay, that's it.
Eddie orders another two beers, checking his phone for the babysitter's update before pocketing it.
He slides up behind Buck sliding a beer in his hand and resting his head on his shoulder his hand coming up to his waist.
The girls immediately gush about the two saying there are Two Hot Firefighters ready to put out their fire and Eddie bursts out in laughter.
They begin to fawn over him next complimenting his jawline and face suggesting he go into modelling or movies.
One of them says it's a waste but they'd be all fired up if they see him covered in soot. Another asks if he's on the same calendar as the sexy Asian guy.
Buck pouts telling them no and he's the focus again.
The drag queens then launch into a spiel about fire safety and if they could do a lecture at a show or help them.
Buck ends up video calling Bobby at the request and he and Athena are laying in bed amused as they watch him stumble through his words before a crowd of colorful queens squeeze into the frame.
He assumes them he'll think about it and the comment on Athena's beauty before the call is cut.
Bobby turns to Athena after the call and she laughs. "Your boy is always getting into trouble." He kisses her forehead softly. "We should go next time." "Let's."
Later that night as Christopher's finally dozing off, his phone slipping out of his hand he jolts at the sound of the front door bursting open.
Harry and Denny freeze on the phone, their faces both lit up by their computer screen, "What was that?"
Chris reaches for his glasses and slips them on staying quiet.
He listens again and relaxes as he hears giggles and shushes.
He rolls his eyes and pulls his covers over his head. "It's my dads."
The shuffling gets louder and he groans softly as his door is knocked on before it's pushed open.
Eddie grins down at his son's lying form and stumbles over as gracefully as he can. Buck is in the kitchen filling two (plastic) cups with water and shakily walking to his room.
Eddie walks to the left of his bed and kneels down resting his head on his arm.
He pats his head suddenly emotional, "I love you so much you know that?"
Chris frowns at his distressed tone but also notices the softness in his touch.
They watch him and Buck tiptoe in to hand Eddie a cup and rest his on a nightstand.
"We should probably let him sleep, okay babe?"
Eddie drinks from his cup smiling and pats Chris' head one last time. "Okay. Night son."
As they're leaving Buck sticks his head back in, "By the way your phone light is still asking through the blanket. Go to bed, Chris."
Harry and Denny burst out laughing and Chris promptly hangs up. He closes his eyes with a smile on his face as his dads fall into bed sloppily in the next room, leaving their problems for themselves tomorrow.

i really do love the detail that tk is known to be giving strangers the benefit of the doubt and trying to see things from their perspectives, other than when it comes to carlos. i love him immediately declaring anyone who made carlos upset sucks anyway. there's something about it that feels really validating for carlos. it was clear in that lunch date scene when he was talking about campbell that he was pissed off about what happened, but immediately looking to qualify that and downplay what he was feeling (maybe campbell just had a different perspective and carlos's feelings about it weren't rational). and tk being like 'he sounds like an idiot' is such a good way of validating what carlos was already feeling but trying to shove down. and for carlos, someone who's spent years shoving down what he feels, trying to keep the peace, it must be really healing to have a partner that is so instantly not only seeing how he truly feels but validating it.

side eyeing the writing team rn. i feel like this is so ooc for carlos im slightly lost for words still
I would love to hear more about your thoughts on what makes this OOC for Carlos.
I'm side-eyeing the writing team because they could have had a few throw-away lines ANYWHERE the last three seasons that would have made this make sense. Like, they could have added more details to season 1 that would make it seem like Carlos also had a deep relationship with Iris, or like with Michelle coming to ID stuff in the car, technically as her husband, Carlos would have had first right to do it.
Or having Andrea or Gabriel reference Iris in ANY conversation they've had since we met them, or even, like "yes I'm out to my parents but...ive defintely tried to make it work"
But keeping a secret like this that he's clearly got a lot of feelings about...Carlos is a MASSIVE avoidant personality. I've said it before, I will say it again.
Should he have told TK: ABSO-FUCKIN-LUTELY
But, his line to Andrea: I thought I had more time.
Carlos probably kept trying to find the right time to tell TK, but like, didn't, because of fears of catastrophic results adn then wanting to have an answer or a solution and tell him later. I've said it to others, but if Carlos could have gotten the divorce and never said a word about it to TK, he very well might have.
And is this more important than telling his parents about a breakup or admitting he's jealous...sure, but if you can't tell someone the truth over little things because of the fear of disappointed them, well, you're going to be even less likely to tell them the big things. Especially when telling the big things doesn't always go well.
But I'm really curious to hear your ooc thoughts, nonny. Because I love talking these things out.

Hello! The henchim info is from a cut scene - we know about it because Aisha posted a video of Oliver helping her run lines for it. So up to us if it's canon but it's very sweet. It's on 911bts I think
It is on 911bts here on tumblr, thank you for pointing me in the right direction! I didn't watch it the first time I saw it because the tone is really off for me which made it difficult to follow, but I did so now. As you answered in my inbox, I'll just dive deep into my own opinion about this (which I wouldn't have done in your post and tried not to do too much in my repost earlier). And that's everyone's warning to back off if you don't want to read a not-so-excited opinion about the issue of Chimney, Hen, and Karen in 8x05.
First of all, for everyone who can't deal with the tone quality of the video either: Hen goes to Bobby after the pumpkin head call, they seem to be in the firehouse. Bobby tells Hen he is working on shift schedules but that she should sit down and talk with him about why she came to him. Hen then tells Bobby that she wants to ask for a shift off, not for herself but for Chimney. Because she heard Chimney tell the guy with the head in the pumpkin how sad he was to miss Jee's first Halloween. Bobby tells her he can't do that because there can't be two people short on the shift. Hen asks about Buck, and Bobby explains, that no Buck will be back. But Chimney already asked for a shift off. On Hen's behalf, so she could spend Halloween with Mara. That's where it ends.
Let's look at this scene isolated from the rest of the episode: I agree, it says a lot about the friendship between Hen and Chimney. Shows us once more how deep this friendship is and how much they care for each other.
Now, let's consider where this is placed in the episode: It's after the pumpkin head call. So we already had the early Halloween party at the Wilson's house. Bobby already knows Buck will be back for the next shift, so it's also after the hospital scene with Buck, Eddie, and Tommy. It's, obviously, before Hen tells Karen no one is taking off for the shift. So, somewhere between this scene and Hen coming home, Chimney and Hen talk with each other about it and consequently decide "If not both of us can win, our whole family is going to lose. We aren't the ones who have to suffer the most under it anyway". (And also, later Bobby just accepted them both pulling the request back instead of ordering Hen to stop being an idiot and be with her family.)
Some people might tell me it's kind of hard and overexaggerated to say it in this way. I don't agree with those people and I hope they treat their partners better than Hen treats Karen here.
Because in this very moment when Hen and Chimney decide to both go to work the next shift, Hen is a horrible wife to Karen. She had a chance to be off of work, Bobby was already doing the work to make it possible! And Karen had voiced her desire to have that for once (I detailed here why I don't think it comes as out of left field as most people somehow claim it does). And Hen decided "Between the comfort of my wife, the memories my children will make (one of whom hasn't been with the family for any holiday before) and the comfort of my best friend (who incidentally already offered for me to be off work for that shift and was okay with it!), the most import thing for me is the comfort of my best friend."
How can anyone claim that's not absolutely horrible behavior? (I mean, of course, except for those people who clearly don't care for Henren at all. And I know, that's mostly all of fandom. Yes, this hiatus has made me very bitter about that and these words aren't aimed directly at the person whose ask I'm answering here but really at the general fandom.)
It's not the first time that Hen put her friendship with Chimney above her family. She did so in season 5, too, when she offered to go with Chimney to chase after Maddie without even thinking for a moment about her wive or her son. (And with the way Chimney's car was packed, it was very clear he intended to stay away for a long time.)
It made me furious at Hen back then, and it's making me furious at Hen now again. It's just one more thing I'll have to ignore about Hen's behavior and I will headcanon that Hen took the chance and was with her family instead of declining the offer of the free day. Because I refuse to give up on Henren, no matter how often the show tries to ruin them for the drama's sake.

“My son is resourceful and he can take care of himself.”
“I have no doubt that’s how you raised him”
“No, he figured that out all on his own”
Just needed to write down these lines between Gabriel and the detective in the abandoned house while TK was trying not to freak out. The difference between 2x08 when Carlos said that his dad thinks he’s too soft to now, when Gabriel is confident in his son’s abilities and claims no credit for that.
I’m totally fine...not wrecked at all.

Idk if you're watching Lone Star but I am LIVID and if you've seen it I'm sure you have very eloquent thoughts??
about the (SPOILER AHEAD)
Nazi bar thing with Owen
Hi lovely! How are you? I’m giving you BIG hugs and I hope you’re taking care of yourself, my darling! *cuddles*
So I tend to binge watch shows. I know, 911 OG is a glaring exception for me (in part so I can write weekly meta posts for everyone interested), but binge watching at the end of a season is what I’ve been doing with LS. For you, however, I went and watched 401.
Well. Yeah, I can’t say that I’m feeling too great about it. As you know, I was already critical of 911 LS’ Jewish representation with TK (and his mom, Gwyn). To me, doing a storyline like this is touching on REALLY sensitive matters, and before you can do that, you should “earn” some credit. Based on seasons 1 through 3, LS has not yet earned that “credit” by showing us it is fully committed to handling these issues with the required care and sensitivity.
On the other hand, I’m also not livid. So, let me try and share my thoughts, in the form of bullet-points to give each one its space, and I hope they can explain where I’m at right now when it comes to this storyline:
First off, it always troubles me when people refer to ‘Nazis’ past 1945. After that point, it is only correct to refer to ex-Nazis or to neo-Nazis. Let me try to explain why this distinction matters. The Nazis might have started as an extremist ideological fringe group, but they rose to be a political party with considerable influence in Germany (responsible for the murder of several individuals and the corruption of German justice even before they came into power). Once they became the ruling party, which then led Germany and used all its resources to launch a world war, occupying as well as collaborating with countless countries, that increased its strength tenfold. They had power the likes of which today’s neo-Nazis never had (and hopefully never will), and they used that power to commit an actual genocide against the Jewish people, as well as persecute and murder members of many other groups. We mustn’t dilute these heinous crimes by conflating the Nazis with today’s neo-Nazis, who are still just a pitiful extremist ideological fringe group (again, hopefully they’ll never rise to be more than that. That’s on us to prevent). And we must also not absolve the neo-Nazis of what it means, that they CHOOSE to follow the ideology which was responsible for those crimes against humanity. Today’s neo-Nazis can’t claim ignorance about the meaning of this ideology, not when its history is so well recorded. The fact that 911 LS is referring to these guys as ‘Nazis’ rather than ‘neo-Nazis’ is already a bit troubling to me.
Another thing is the humorous reveal. TBH, I’m not bothered by the fact that Owen rode with these guys for a week without realizing they’re neo-Nazis. It does ring true to the way such groups indoctrinate new members, which is indeed gradual. If anything, it’s the sudden and complete reveal that they’re neo-Nazis which rings false. They would not have sprung that out of nowhere on a potential new recruit. It’s done this way to bring humor into the situation, which is 911 LS’ way of telling stories, but this is just too serious of a matter, which means once again the credit to use humor here has to be earned IMO. First show us that you’re not taking this lightly, that you are integrating this storyline because you actually care about things like the current rise in antisemitism in the US, and only then do you get to inject humor into it. The fact that this was not a throwaway joke, the fact that they will develop it into a whole storyline where they might yet show us that they are taking this seriously, is the main reason why I’m not livid right now. But it doesn’t mean that this is okay, it just means that I’m reserving judgment until we get the whole storyline and have a better, fuller idea of how they’re treating it.
One of the reasons why I’m giving 911 LS credit that it might still do this storyline justice is because I know that Rob Lowe is married to a Jewish woman, and their kids are, in terms of ancestry, half-Jewish (and in terms of Halacha, the Jewish law, they’re Jewish. Period). One of those kids actually works (I’m assuming he’s on board for s4 as he was for seasons 1 - 3) as a scriptwriter for 911 LS. Even just based on Rob’s involvement as a producer for the show, and assuming he cares about this issue as a man who’s married to a Jewish woman and raising Jewish kids, I’m willing to assume the intention was good. It doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll do this subject justice, but I am willing to believe they brought it up because it is something that does bother them.
Speaking of doing this right, Owen is actually not a likely candidate for this neo-Nazi group. I’m not saying it’s impossible, there are always exceptions, but such groups usually prey on people who are young and disenfranchised, feeling cast out and unwanted by their own societies. Young people who are likely to be patriotic towards their country, but angry towards its chosen government, which they blame for their own failures. Owen is older, less likely to be easily malleable to their ideology, he’s successful in his profession, and while as a firefighter he can be assumed to be patriotic, they have no indication that he harbors any animosity towards the American government. If 911 LS was gonna tell this story, it has no way of really doing this one right, ‘coz none of the 126 members is a likely candidate for a neo-Nazi gang. Which makes sense, that’s the cast diversity they were proud of and even integrated into the actual plot in s1, right? I can only once again assume that they took on this storyline because it matters to them, and in spite of not having the right cast to tell the story as it usually unfolds. They can still “fix” that if in the following eps they’ll have someone (like maybe the FBI agent we saw) address the fact that Owen doesn’t fit the usual profile.
Which brings me back to what I said earlier, that to a great degree I feel like my final judgment of this storyline, whether it’ll make me just slightly uncomfortable or downright angry, is something I’ll only be able to properly address once I’ve seen the whole storyline play out.
I hope this helps? I’m here for you either way, you can always talk to me about whatever upsets you, regarding this storyline or anything else. Sending you so much love, hon! xoxox
(more of my posts about Jewish rep can be found here, and my other ask replies here. xoxox)

Random thought. TK has money now. He must've received a huge money from his mom. I refused to believe that Gwyn was not loaded. She's a big-time lawyer that has her own firm (if this is canon and not something we all just decided). Either way she would leave something for her boys. Jonah still has Enzo and must've received some too but that's it. It's just Jonah and TK. I wonder what will happen to the firm tho if Gwyn is one of the owners?
look, this is an interesting question, and I'm gonna preface it by saying I just don't think Lone Star (for all the love I have for it) is that deep. but I've spiralled about it anyway so here are my thoughts 🤡
Now, I don't believe Gwyn would have died intestate (without a will) and she would have updated it on Jonah's birth (if she was being prudent). I can definitely see her having set up some testamentary trusts which perhaps limit TK (and Jonah's) ability to access their inheritance. People typically think of these as being able to be accessed once the beneficiary reaches 18/21 but that's not always the case, and specifically where the beneficiary might have, say, a history of alcohol, gambling or drug addiction. Given that TK's inheritance is never mentioned, maybe we can hypothesise that Gwyn may have made provision for this to ensure TK's money is caught up in a trust pending him reaching, say, 30.
As to the law firm (im not sure if this is canon) - that depends on the structure of the firm (private company, partnership etc.). Typically in large firms there are buy/sell arrangements which require the other partners or shareholders to buy out the deceased/incapacitated partner/shareholder and then the proceeds go to the estate. this is to ensure that the running of the firm isn't affected by the departure of one partner/shareholder. if Gwyn's firm was a sole practice, that's a different question. Also, not all lawyers are rich please believe me on this 💀💀💀💀
I took this way too seriously but I refer to my first point which is that this is a TV show about firefighters, hot people and grain silos and I'm just a freak ❤️ thank you for the ask!

I also tend to figure in Carlos voicing his reluctance to pursue things with TK to Michelle — that he hates to be the one doing the chasing. Add to that the reality of his situation with his parents, his own internalized homophobia, and even the way his clear physical confidence when they’re alone is at odds with the way he approached TK at the honky-tonk: the exaggerated casualness of it, how he glanced around before he said anything… for me, it paints a pretty clear picture.
In my personal headcanon, not only does Carlos not date as a general rule, he’s used to hooking up with guys who may want more than he’s ready, willing, or able to give. He’s the one whos been chased in the past. And sometimes that makes followup hookups a possibility, but sometimes he’s just not comfortable with it at all.
I love seeing different takes, especially from authors. It’s fascinating to see what informs everyone’s interpretations of these characters, and how that presents itself in writing.
The look on Carlos's face when he climbs on top of TK on the couch 🥵. Like he's thinking "I'm gonna break you in half and then put you back together slowly"
He is just RAVENOUS. That predatory look, the confident way he whips his shirt off, the way he smacks TK’s thigh as he gets in top of him. The boy was hungry and TK was his snack. And from what we know of his backstory, that’s not just who Carlos was. He wasn’t a sexy confident king of one night stands. He was shy and repressed and dealing with internalized homophobia and the fear that he’d never be loved and he’d never been with a guy who made him feel right 😭 but he met TK and TK just unlocked something in him so unexpectedly. Made him confident and sexy in a way he never had been. Fucking soulmates.
