My Random Smiling Friends Headcanons
Gnarly was born in the dressing room at a Pac Sun in New Jersey, that's why his name is basically surfer slang.
Grim grew up in the suburbs and his parents were a dentist and a lawyer. Grim went into his edgy phase as a teen and never left.
Grim isn't actually his real name, he just changed it to be "Edgy"
Allan was an engineering major in college.
Glep listens to Will Wood.
Glep collects CDs
When Charlie was 12, he spent Memorial day on the side of the road by his Uncle's burnt '54 Chevy Bel Air. Charlie's Uncle and cars. *Sigh*
Charlie's parents died shortly after he was born, so he was basically raised by his uncle.
Charlie's Uncle's band, "The Red Gapers", is psychedelic rock.
Pim likes Dollywood (I went there once and it's so fun!)
Pim's favorite musicals would probably be Hairspray, Hamilton, Mamma Mia, and Dear Evan Hansen.
Mr. Boss' favorite musicals would probably be Ride The Cyclone, Annie, and wicked
Charlie unironically got one of those "Gangster cartoon" Shirts from the Wildwood boardwalk when he was a teenager.
Glep likes Rhythm Heaven and Arcaea.
Pim has a Neopets account
Mr. Boss likes the movie "Radio", Allan hates that movie.
Allan really likes Star Trek
Mr. Boss collects PEZ Despensers.
Gwimbly Plays the Accordian
Glep has a 90's Cherry Coke can he found in the woods one day.
Gwimbly hates it when people think his name is Quigley. It happens quite a bit with people unfamiliar with him.
Pim likes Taylor Swift.
Glep listens to 80s synth
Pim had a phase when he was younger where he made Olympic Mascot fanfic. It was short lived.
Pim also had a "Tumblr Girl" aesthetic phase.
Glep is sometimes underestimated due to his size.
Pim played the flute when he was in school.
Those have been some random and not strangely specific at all headcanons about Smiling Friends!

What type of music would the counselors listen to?
I know some of my mutuals have answered this question before and I'm sure my headcanons will be influenced by theirs, AND I'm also significantly older than the counselors so they're probably listening to gen z stuff my late millennial ass doesn't even know about but here goes nothing!
Laura So much SIØBHAN! Just kidding. Laura feels like two completely different characters in the game so I have a hard time deciding what I think spunky but straight-laced, ‘this is my first cop,’ over-achieving pre-vet student Laura Kearney would listen to vs badass avenging murder spree Laura Kearney (but maybe she always had that inside her). Part of me wants to say, like, 80’s pop (Prince, Blondie, Tiffany, Michael Jackson, Pat Benetar, etc.) and part of me wants to put her in the hard rock/metal zone with Ryan. Maybe she’s a bit of both.
Max I believe it was Addie (@insertlovelyperson) who said Max would listen to country music where women murder their cheating or abusive husbands. That tracks to me. Maybe it's the use of Alma Cogan's version of 'Fly Me to the Moon' in the game, but I also tend to associate him with crooner type singers of the 40's and 50's (Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Dean Martin, etc), which is what I said he'd choose for karaoke. And because of this fanart I have no choice but to HC him as a major Ariana Grande fan, he's probably the one who chose the music for the drive to camp. So. Max has range.
Abi is the K-Pop/J-Pop stan to me but I know so little about that music beyond the crossover bands like BTS that I can't speak to it a whole lot. I think she'd also like some emo, pop-punk and moodier alt/pop. Avril Lavigne, Paramore, Melanie Martinez, Florence and the Machine, Metric, Lorde, Halsey, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers/boygenius, etc. I feel like she's really into female fronted bands for some reason.
Jacob likes pretty much whatever is on the radio. He's a top 40 guy and has no shame about his enjoyment of Ed Sheeran and Justin Beiber, or about ugly crying to Taylor Swift and Coldplay. He rarely listens closely to the actual lyrics (and often gets them humorously wrong), he just goes on vibes. He discovers half the music he listens to via TikTok (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Emma is a theater kid through and through and loves broadway musicals. She goes through phases with each popular one. She's had a Waitress phase, a Mamma Mia phase, a Wicked phase, and a Hamilton phase, of course, and now she's into Mean Girls, Heathers, and Hadestown. Beyond that, I think she'd be a dedicated Swiftie, big Adele fan, and a lover of Britney Spears's entire body of work from the 90's through today.
Nick probably listens to stoner bro music. Like jam bands and psychedelic rock and stuff. He probably likes Dave Matthews Band and the Grateful Dead/Dark Star Orchestra, Sublime, Widespread Panic, Tame Impala, and O.A.R. Googling jam bands to remind myself which ones exist led me to the knowledge that there's an Australian psychedelic rock band called King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and that name is so bonkers that I've decided without listening to more than a few bars that it has to be Nick's favorite band.
Ryan is a little bit emo and a little bit goth and a little bit old school punk. He needs music that's loud and moody to help sort out his feelings about life and drown out all the excess noise inside his head. He's into metal, the harder side of emo/screamo, goth rock, hard rock, punk, and post-punk. He definitely listens to Nightwish, GOJIRA, Mastodon, Lacuna Coil, Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Thursday, Alkaline Trio, My Chemical Romance, AFI, Bad Religion, Black Flag, Minor Threat, The Misfits, Ramones, etc. He doesn't hate more accessible pop and rock music, but the closest he gets to choosing it for himself is probably something like The Cure or The Smashing Pumpkins or Depeche Mode, maybe some of the creepier Weeknd songs and Muse tracks too heavy to go on the Twilight soundtracks. He and Abi listen to Babymetal together.
Kaitlyn classic rock and 90's alternative. This girl likes the Stones more than the Beatles, though she'll listen to both. Led Zeppelin, Joan Jett, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Black Sabbath, the occasional hair band. She especially loves the 90's girl rockers like Alanis Morisette, Garbage, Hole, Veruca Salt, and No Doubt (Kaitlyn can't believe Gwen Stefani is married to pop-country dork Blake Shelton who sings that song about being your honey bee, because Gwen used to be so cool [I'm definitely not projecting]). I feel like she'd also love Bikini Kill and Sleater Kinney, Le Tigre, and The Donnas.
Dylan is the Music Guy ™ (and my personal bias/url namesake), so I've admittedly thought about his musical tastes more than most of the others'. The official Quarry website mentions his 'deep musical knowledge' and I imagine he has pretty broad views on what constitutes good music. He's got kind of a vintage vibe to him, maybe it's the reproduction band shirt from 1988, or the fact that he's into analog technology, or both, but I've noticed he's often depicted playing Queen or Bowie or something of that era in fics, which I think is realistic. This kid goes to the used record store and just buys whatever looks cool.
Fun Fact: According to the datamine, the chapters originally had literary or musical quotes at the beginning of each, and Chapter 5: White Noise (the radio hut chapter) was originally headed by the opening lyrics from Queen's 'Radio Ga Ga':
Tumblr media
He's also the only character we see play music in canon, so we know he likes... songs from random compilation albums with inexpensive royalties. XD Just kidding, but these are the diegetic (in-universe) songs we get to hear from Dylan's playlist at the bonfire party:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All pop music of varying subtypes, so we know he appreciates a well-crafted pop song. I honestly am a fan of all of these. I think Dylan genuinely listens to everything but he seems like the type to especially like alt and indie pop, classic rock, garage rock, a bit of the more melodic side of punk, emo, and pop-punk, new wave, synth pop, electronic, and a little bit of hip hop that’s sufficiently nerdy white boy friendly (probably Beastie Boys, Run the Jewels, Post Malone, emo rap like Blackbear, etc). I also tend to gravitate towards early-mid aughts indie for him, like MGMT, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, OK Go, LCD Soundsystem, etc. Just seems to match his vibe. I think he'd really like BØRNS, Hozier, COIN, Mitski, and K.Flay and probably have a fair amount of overlap with Ryan's more melodic picks (MCR, Muse, The Cure, etc). Dylan probably hates Morrissey but begrudgingly loves The Smiths and definitely cranks up The Killers in his car. He’s also listening to bands right now that you’ve never heard of but will be huge in a couple years. He can probably tell you the difference between subgenres like chillwave, dream pop, and shoegaze but don’t ask me about it because I have no fucking clue.
Since we’re on the subject, here’s my absurdly long and ever-growing Rylan/Radioheads playlist because I have a problem.
And my Sweet Summer Jams playlist, that’s just a bunch of random songs I think would be clean enough to play at a summer camp as long as the kids/your boss don’t ask too many questions.

Hello, my question is about the Bowers gang and the music. I simply found it curious and fun and since Victor also seems to be a music fan and invited Evelyn next time to listen to music, my question is about her musical tastes, if she has a group. favorite or what genre of music do they listen to or if they have a favorite singer since Belch is a character who is characterized by the fact that he loves Metallica, so he asks me what type of music would each one listen to, Belch, well, he listens to metallica and anthrax (he has a band t-shirt and it appears in a movie if I remember correctly) Victor in one of the chapters says that he likes an Aerosmith song but from there I don't have an idea of the bands or singers I heard, much less Henry or Patrick, I feel Patrick would be the strangest, he doesn't even seem like a person who listened to music or is a fan of someone and Henry doesn't seem that way to me either, and also it's from the 80's so it's even more interesting because I love the music of the 80's. 80s and 70s.
First of all, I absolutely love questions like this! I’ve had the worst week, so this was a very welcome mental vacation. Thank you for this.
Anyway, let’s discuss everyone’s music preferences! I’m just gonna break this down character by character to make my life easier.
— Evelyn
Evelyn likes whatever songs catch her ear on the radio. Music isn’t a huge part of her life, so she doesn’t really have a favorite song or artist. She has songs she likes (a lot of those classic 80s pop hits), sure, but I doubt she knows the names of most of them. So far, I think the only artists I’ve specifically mentioned her liking are Olivia Newton-John, the B-52s (literally just for “Love Shack” probably), and The Beach Boys, but we’ll discover more of her interests later. It’s not a major storyline by any means, but it does get explored.
— Vic
This may be a departure from canon, but in my mind, Victor Criss is an early adopter of the whole 90s grunge aesthetic. Messy hair. Ripped jeans. Flannel. Oversized shirts. Drinking coffee and smoking weed. If this story took place in the 90s, Vic would be all up in that grunge scene. I’m honestly super bummed I couldn’t go that route with him, but mark my words, that boy will go full grunge in college. He will.
Since this story doesn’t take place in the 90s, a lot of people (and by “people” I mean the characters in the story) probably assume Vic’s into heavy metal like Belch, but that’s not necessarily true. See, Vic is very picky about his music, and I don’t mean that in a snobby way at all (although Vic can be a little snobby about it). For him, music is therapy. Vic just wants to get really high, listen to some music, and escape himself for a while. And the wrong kind of music can be painfully grating to him, like to the point where it would cause him intense physical discomfort. That’s why he’s so picky.
So what kind of music does Vic like? I dunno… I could see him being into psychedelic rock, artists like Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Byrds, The Beatles, stuff like that. Vic is very private about his music, though. There’s a reason Christie Gibson can’t seem to figure him out.
It's also a pretty big deal that Vic has invited Evelyn to listen to music with him. Just saying.
— Belch
Next to Victor, Belch is probably the most serious about music. As we all know from the movie, heavy metal is his preference and his passion, but he’s also the kind of guy who can (secretly) appreciate a well-composed song regardless of its genre. That being said, Belch does tend to steer clear of the mainstream pop music scene… unless, of course, Christie Gibson is with him. Yeah, when those two are together, he pretty much lets her play whatever music she wants (because Belch is a good boyfriend).
— Henry
Yeah, I don’t think Henry is that serious about music. He listens to it, sure, everyone does, but it doesn’t impact his life significantly. Despite that, Henry’s tastes are probably very similar to Belch’s, simply because that’s how Henry gets exposed to most of his music: he listens to whatever Belch plays in the car. Apart from that, I could also see him being into bands like Led Zeppelin, Blue Öyster Cult, Deep Purple, Kansas, etc. But would he consider any of them his favorite band? Probably not, because Henry doesn’t have a favorite band.
Honestly, I think Henry has a very negative relationship with music in general. Anything that tries to tap into his emotions or influence his emotions, yeah Henry doesn’t like that. At all. He doesn’t wanna feel things. He doesn’t wanna think about his parents or his childhood. He wants all that shit to stay buried real deep.
— Patrick
For Patrick, all music sounds the same—and by that, I mean it’s all just “noise” to him. He doesn’t connect to it on any level, least of all emotionally.
In Chapter 5 (I think?) we saw Patrick using the radio kind of like a weapon. He purposefully messed with the knob to create the most annoying sounds his possibly could, hoping that it would drive the other guys in the car crazy. And it worked. Belch almost crashed the damn car. That pretty much sums up Patrick’s relationship with music. It’s just something else for him to manipulate and use for his entertainment.
So yeah, I could see Patrick listening to some really weird shit, like music that isn’t really music, but more like a bunch of random creepy/disturbing sounds put together. Patrick’s a weirdo. There’s no way he listens to traditional music.
___________
Okay, that's all I have to say on the subject. Thanks again for this ask! It was a lot of fun to think about. ❤️

pleaseee I NEED to find oM enjoyers who like the early sound as much as I do, literally EVERYONE i ever see prefers the mid-late eras better 😭
compilation albums and EPs count for the era of music they have, NOT just release date. for example, Young Froth/Taypiss came out 2013 but counts as twee era as it is a compilation of demos and old songs from the 90's

quotes from a blog recap of the young veins' album release party on 8 june 2010
The Young Veins had their album release party yesterday, June 8th, at Origami records in LA, a record label but also a tiny, tiny store that only sells vinyls. The place is a narrow corridor with an upstairs level that can be reached by a spiral staircase. The band performed upstairs and people had the feeling to be in a pit hole, breaking their necks to look at their heroes. I guess only 30 people could have fit there, and these people were 90% teenage girls.
Ryan, Jon as well as the other members Andy Soukal (guitar, bass), Nick White (keyboards, he played keyboards for Bright Eyes) and Nick Murray (drums) are all extremely young, and with their juvenile looks you would never guess they would venture in the 60’s, the childhood-teenage years of their parents.
The sound is definitely embedded in the past, and does not have anything to do with the rock music of 2010, as they sure don’t use any electronic equipment but instead vintage instruments like the Wurlizter piano.
“Take a vacation” is pure Beatles mania intertwined with Kinks riffs, a few Beach Boys harmonies, and probably a few other things from famous 60’s bands I have forgotten,… the Byrds? I know Phil Spector is serving jail time right now, but the title track could have been one of his productions. The songs ‘Take a vacation’, ‘Cape Town’, and ‘Maybe I Will, Maybe I Won’t’ could be some lost songs of an unidentified 60’s band that would have digested its complete sonic environment. It is pretty hard to distinguish what they have exactly borrowed from the Beatles or the Kinks from what they have really composed since the songs are still inventive beside their obvious inspirations.
It is a recipe for ear delight and even if the concoction seems a little prefabricated, there is no reason to abstain from this pleasurable 60’s gluttony. More British invasion than psychedelic rock, the songs are quite short (the whole album is less than half hour) but made of catchy and upbeat tunes.
Last night, Ryan Ross, Jon Walker and Andy Soukal played guitar, alternating for the vocals, and Jon sang alone on ‘Everyone But You’, whereas Ryan did most of the vocals on ‘Take a vacation’, ‘Cape Town’, ‘Maybe I Will, Maybe I Won’t’, and The Other Girl’. ‘Young Veins (Die Tonight)’ had this particular Kinks feeling, a feeling even more present when Ryan used a tambourine on ‘Change’.
If music touches at our genuine collective memory, it sure is a winner. It’s effortless, you are on familiar soundscape and you recognize it immediately as part of your inner world. Now I wonder about radio airplay for the Young Veins? On oldies stations?

A STARR’S NEW PLANET
1991, July - People magazine (US)
Ringo Starr’s 20-year-old daughter, Lee Starkey, celebrates the styles of her pop’s generation in her new Hollywood shop.
A STARR’S NEW PLANET
Ringo’s daughter, Lee Starkey, slips back into the ‘60s at her transplanted L.A. store, Planet Alice
Lee Starkey was born in 1970 – the year The Beatles split up. She didn’t see the swooning fans on The Ed Sullivan show and never questioned whether Paul was dead. As far as she was concerned, her father, Ringo Starr, was just another guy in a rock group. “It wasn’t like a really big thing,” she says. “I went to school with lots of people whose parents were in bands. I knew one of the Hollies’ daughters.”
Even now, when other rock legend’s children – Chynna Phillips, Carnie and Wendy Wilson and Gunnar and Matthew Nelson – are building megacareers with their parents’ names, Starkey, 20, doesn’t call attention to her roots. “I generally don’t tell anyone who my father is,” says Lee, who was raised in London by her mother, Maureen, after her parents’ 1975 divorce. “I didn’t know that much about the Beatles, so I kept my mouth shut.”
Tumblr media
Lee communes with Ringo at the boutique's opening bash. "When there's something going on, we're all there," she says of her family.
Starkey is more comfortable talking about her own burgeoning career as co-owner of Planet Alice, a psychedelic boutique she opened last month with partner Christian Paris on L.A.’s trendy Melrose Avenue. Though it is stocked with what she describes as “’90s interpretations of ‘60s styles,” Starkey says, “I didn’t consciously do this because it’s what the Beatles wore in their heyday, but it must have had something to do with it.”
For his part, Ringo is glad that Lee, who didn’t ask him for financial help, “finally found something to put herself into,” he says. “She tried acting school and decided she didn’t like that. She got her diploma from makeup school and wasn’t really enthusiastic about that.” She even tried the drums. “But I wasn’t too good at it,” Starkey admits. Older brothers Zak, 25, and Jason, 23, became the drummers in the family, while Lee persuaded her pal Paris to relocate his Planet Alice shop from London’s Portobello Road to Hollywood. Waiting for her on these shores was her mother, who moved to L.A. last year after marrying Isaac Tigrett, cofounder of the Hard Rock Cafe empire. (The couple have a 4-year-old daughter, Augusta) Lee and Paris, who say their partnership is platonic, are living chez Tigrett until they find places of their own.
Tumblr media
"I've never read a book about The Beatles," says Starkey (sketching at home). "If there's anything I want to know, I can just ask my dad".
“We’ve always been very family oriented,” says Lee, who spent childhood summers with her father at his estate at Ascot, where she occasionally encountered the other Beatles. Her parents remain on friendly terms, and Ringo and wife Barbara Bach, as well as Maureen and Tigrett, were on hand for the Planet Alice opening.
For now, Lee is concentrating on running the shop. She has even arm-twisted Mom into helping out one day a week. Dad hasn’t made that commitment, but his presence will surely be felt every time the cash register goes ring-o.
Tumblr media
"I feel I'm very lucky at age 20 to find what I want to do in life," says Lee, at Planet Alice, where everything old is new again.

100 Albums To Understand Muse - Part 6 [STYLE Series #004 - Muse (August 2010)]
Tumblr media
KAISER CHIEFS Employment (2005) KAISER CHIEFS were a unique band in a sense in the UK scene of the 00s. In contrast to Muse, the band's sound is in the tradition of British pop, with influences such as Blur, XTC and Madness. Ricky Wilson's physical live performances are also overwhelmingly popular. -S
KASABIAN Kasabian (2004) The debut album from Kasabian, who have supported Muse on numerous occasions. Starting with the anthem "Club Foot," which launched them onto the world stage, their sound, which made use of Sergio Pizzorno's cool guitar riffs and electronic loops, was enough to impress the arrival of a danceable UK guitar band for the first time since the Madchester era. -S
THE KILLERS Hot Fuss (2004) This four-piece from Vegas revived the joys of synth-rock and sold over seven million copies of their debut album worldwide. They are often compared to Muse, but seem to get on well with each other. Dominic, in particular, has praised the playing of their drummer Ronnie Vanuccio. Singer Brandon Flowers will soon make his solo debut. -H
KING CRIMSON Red (1974) A 1974 masterpiece from the band led by guitarist Robert Fripp, who logically pursued the possibilities of the guitar. The distortion-heavy guitar sound is still overwhelmingly exciting nearly 40 years after its release. The band's performance is full of tension, including ‘Starless’, in which an epic improv battle develops from the middle section of the track. -M
KULA SHAKER K (1996) The debut album by the four-piece led by psychedelic guitar virtuoso Crispian Mills, who burst onto the UK scene in the mid-90s. The album is a euphoric masterpiece that pays homage to 60s rock, including Jimi Hendrix, and boldly incorporates the flavour of Indian music into an unusually individualistic sound that makes the listener dance along to a dazzling groove. -I
LED ZEPPELIN Physical Graffiti (1975) Led Zeppelin's sixth album, which has inspired Muse and many other bands to follow in their footsteps. The strings on ‘United States of Eurasia’ are strongly influenced by the fantastic ‘Kashmir’, which is also included on this album. From the funky ‘Trampled Under Foot’ to the beautiful and dramatic ‘Ten Years Gone’, this album is lined with unique masterpieces. -S
MADINA LAKE Attics To Eden (2009) Led by the handsome twins, the Leone brothers, the Chicago quartet changed their dark emo/screamo route and introduced dance grooves on their second album, showing their potential to break into the mainstream. Recommended for fans of My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy, not to mention the esteemed fans of Muse. -T
MAGMA Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh (1973) French progressive band with a classical taste, featuring a chorus section. The relentless, overdubbed, multi-layered orientation that Muse challenged in Black Holes and Revelations is a part of the world they create. The band's minimalist approach is incredibly grandiose in its expression. -M

Hi! I just wanted to say I adore the way you draw Ma'am! She's really pretty in your style ^^
Question wise though, do you have any headcanons or anything like that for her or any of the other characters?
I wish I hadn’t accidentally privately responded to a previous question about my headcanons for her, because it was a LONG LIST, but I’ll try and list a few!
This’ll be long so it’s all shoved under the cut, minus some more private HC’s-
Full Grown/Ma’am
• She’s a huge sweets fan, and once Big Deal gets better at cooking and baking, she has a habit of stealing away muffins or cookies, much to the exasperation and chitterings of him.
• I give her battle scars beneath her suit!
• She has some sort of connection to Reggie which royally pisses her off for A WHILE, especially as Endless tries to push for their friendship. In comes my mentor!AU where a greater looming evil forces them to call a truce and they eventually become like family.
• She’s the original leader/Queen of Endless before Bad Things happened and shunted her into the volcanic stasis until Reggie revives her.
• She’s the original creation of Endless. She was made by a very, very lonely little girl who desperately needed a friend and was scared of growing up, who got whisked away to Endless at its most baby state. Full Grown bloomed into life just about the same age as the girl who created her, and she ages alongside her until the girl grows away from Endless and finally stops coming to Endless. Ma’am stops aging from there.
• She likes wrestling, obviously, but she also likes hockey. She likes the fighting lol
• Big Deal’s affections scare her and make her anxious, she’s scared of niceness and affection in *general*, so she acts up, acts out, lashing out and thrashing and acting petulant in her denial to try and create distance. It doesn’t work.
• She can play a few musical instruments! Namely the piano and guitar, but a few others too.
• She can speak a few different languages, mostly because one of my favorite Matt Berry songs has French in it and I said she can.
• Her music tastes are very wide and varying but she favors acid jazz, psychedelic rock, and hypno-pop.
• Ma’am is OLD, lmao. She clearly is themed around astro-retro futurism of the 50s and 60s, between her house, her theme song, her aesthetic, so I like to put the height of her leadership around those eras.
• She /likes/ entertaining guests. Beneath all her bristle and coldness and axe-crazy mania, when she’s not putting out her icy, angry exterior, she *likes* having guests and being able to entertain. We see her even say that she likes having guests when Brown Roger comes around (poor Brown Roger lol)
• She likes roller skating
• She’s got a closet full of unique clothes, but after Bad Things and her stasis in the volcano, she sticks to wearing her Endless suit because her clothes feel too personal and vulnerable for a long time.
• She’s a hopeless romantic at heart, though terribly scorned, so she hides it beneath briars and thorns and chaos. She loves chick flicks and romance novels and she values loyalty and respect.
• Her and modern technology are Not Friends. Her range in technology goes up until the late 80s/early 90s, and I KNOW the show is technically supposed to take place in that era but that completely bypassed me back in 2019 when I started making my AUs, which take place 2015 and above, so modern technology makes her curse and sneer and growl in frustration.
• She just really likes food. Big Deal has to learn fast how to cook and bake properly for her because she gets very cranky when she’s hungry and she eats A Lot.
• She’s like a giant lizard cat. She’s very bendy and flexible, likes climbing trees and crawling around searching for shiny things, and she likes basking under the sun, even if she complains about being around others the whole time (she’ll also grab Big Deal and curl around him because he’s a little furnace, much to his flustered-ness)
• She’s genderfluid and queer. She doesn’t care about earth terms, she’s a shapeshifting alien queen in a different dimension, human customs and opinions don’t really matter when it comes to who *she* is.
• She and Big Deal manage to cross over onto earth at some point and she creates earth human forms for them.
• I technically have a full name for her but thatsss a bit private and will only be revealed if I talk to you for a while hdhfjd
I have a lot more but for the sake of saving time, I just have those for now for her.
Reggie
• CHAOS GIRL- she maintains her chaotic, bright, colorful nature even into adulthood. I really like focusing on her and her friends growing up into young adults because like.. self projection and also because this show is *about* growing up, and it’s SO interesting exploring that facet and seeing how their personalities, ESPECIALLY Reggie’s, grow and flux, yet how they still stay true to themselves.
• She /can/ sing a lil bit but it’s one of the few things she’s very shy about, between bullying and befriending people like Todd and Esther, and eventually Gwen, who are all so musically oriented, so she kinda just.. hides that she can kinda sing by being so overly dramatic about *badly* singing.
• She grows a steady mentorship/apprentice dynamic with Full Grown (though it depends on AU for how old she is when that mentorship starts, for my main one, she’s almost 13, for a few of my others, she’s older teens) who eventually becomes a like a very dear family member to her
• She’s a sporty girl when she hits her teens. She’s got a LOT of energy and frustration to expel and she winds up enrolling in volleyball, hockey, and rollerderby throughout her teen years to help her adrenaline junkie life and it helps with the frustrations of Having To Grow Up.
• She keeps her tooth gap, she never gets it corrected, and she’s got a very crooked and mischievous smile that lasts her whole life.
• She’s COVERED in freckles.
• She’s very shy around Conelly for a WHILE, they don’t even start dating til Reggie’s like 16.
• She’s actually very good with science, it just takes Ma’am’s mentorship to help her realize that ‘hey she actually sometimes likes learning’ and she likes astronomy, astro-physics, physics, and chemistry (she finds interest when she’s being taught magic and finds out there’s a lot of science behind potions and magic)
• She’s forever a foodie, always munching and eating SOMETHING. She’s a frequent food thief and steals snacks from Mack and Beefhouse, from Full Grown and Big Deal, and from her friends.
• She’s the championed Knight of Endless, in all essential aspects. She undergoes weapons training from Full Grown when she hits adulthood due to other threats on Endless.
• She LIKES dressing up, she LIKES dresses sometimes, she just doesn’t like dressing up the way Judy wants her to, and she doesn’t like feeling clumsy and doesn’t like feeling like she’s just playing dress up to be someone she’s not (unless it’s cosplay, she gets her friends into cosplaying with her).
• Most of her wardrobe I draw her in comes directly from my closet or from my style.
• She gets rebellious with her friends when they’re 16/17 and Todd’s older brother takes them to get ear piercings together, so she’s got two lobe piercings and industrial piercings on both ears. When she’s older, she also has a tongue piercing, because she thought it was Cool™️ and she likes to stim with it.
• In my main mentor!AU, she chops all her hair off to her shoulders directly after her 18th birthday in a fit of frustration and rage and panic. Mood.
• She also puts colored streaks in her choppy hair when she’s older, regardless of shortness or longness, she’s got green, pink, and blue streaks randomly smattered through her hair.
• She’s got severe ADHD and is possibly autistic
• She ALSO likes wrestling, so her and Full Grown cheer and snicker and snort over wrestling.
• She maintains her artistry as she grows and is quite successful with her art on the occasion. She’s the designer for Dustin’s podcast’s merch, Space Draculas. His podcast focuses on mythological legends, paranormal encounters, and supernatural beings with Todd’s older brother a few friends. Any pics of Reggie I draw wearing an alien with fangs is for this podcast of his.
• She and Judy mend their bonds over the years, and Judy is definitely the Team Mom for all her friends.
• Reggie’s first car is a Volkswagen Beetle that’s got a yellow body, but the hood, front two doors, and trunk are all different colors. The car is littered with car stickers and it has pins all in the roof from the inside, and she’s got worm on the strings tied to the rear view mirror.
• She ends up being a very good babysitter, it’s her job as a teenager, so she winds up being very good with kids.
• She curbs her dirty, messy habits as she grows older, but sometimessss she still gets down and dirty on Endless, she’s got no problems with getting muddy and dirty, covered in paint, sticky with sweat and sand, and she has to be reminded that showers are REQUIRED /more/ than twice a week.
• Full Grown regularly chews her out because she tries to enter the witch’s home with her sandy boots on. That’s like.. a YEARS long habit.
• She winds up being a rather well skilled magic user
Big Deal
• Learns much of his cooking skills from infomercials after Ma’am falls asleep, alongside with tentatively befriending Mack and Beefhouse and learning from them. They reach out to him first, with much grace and forgiveness, one day when he’s searching for recipe ingredients and they end up being well friends to him, and eventually, Ma’am as well. (She’s much more resilient and hesitant to befriend the others after everything and many of them are just as hesitant of her but Reggie growing under her mentorship helps)
• He whacks Reggie in exasperation when she tries to steal food.
• He was made by Endless to protect his Ma’am and be a tiny little plush dragon to her.
• He purrs when he’s comfortable and happy, and so does Full Grown (though she represses it for a very long time). He also trills and chitters and chirps in feral little noises to her and she’ll make noises back.
• he looks smooth and round but he’s made up of really smooth feathers and he’ll puff up and flair out in high emotions or shock.
• He’s SO little and she’s SO big. My Ma’am is around 7’0” and he’s like.. thigh/butt level to her.
• He’s the first being to see her cry after her revival from the volcano, regardless of my AU and how long it takes for her to finally cry, he’s always the first one to see her cry.
• He’s a very enthusiastic learner and absorbs knowledge like a sponge, and he loves listening to his Ma’am talk so he’s willing to sit and listen and learn until he’s falling asleep.
• He does NOT like horror movies. He does not care for wrestling, or hockey, it all makes him cringe and fret so much, but he LOVES fantasy, adventure, romance, and music, so Full Grown introduces him to musicals and romcoms.
• he LOVES entwining his tail with his Ma’am’s tail, which, for a long time, is a very rare thing, but it grows more constant as time passes.
• he’s got little padded pawed hands! Tiny hands with little heart shaped paw pads!

diagnosing characters from these savage stars/crater of grace with modern music tastes
west: west's music taste is vast and eclectic but its main staples are "scary bluegrass" a la bands like the bent brothers, the haunted windchimes, the lowlies, and blues, think hozier, gary clark jr, nathaniel rateliff, as well as female power-vocalists like halsey and florence + the machine
leena: she listens mostly to sad women folk, think boygenius, mitski. the two places leena and west can agree are halsey and taylor swift and even then they're both casual enjoyers and not hardcore fans
finlay: here's your obsessive swiftie. but his mother raised him on sean-nós and so his first love always will be music from ireland, the maritime provinces, and the uk: both rock (hozier, u2) and folk-acoustic (fairport convention, steeleye span)
mari: she listens mostly to classical guitar and such (she'd love beall and finch, for instance) but she can also be coaxed to listen to some of west's less screamy choices (the bent brothers, some of nathaniel rateliff's more contemplative pieces).
adalia: she'd like r&b/soul type music and also rock. seeing as she's mexican (technically she's from a space colony on europa but the original colonists were sent by mexico) i think she'd probably listen mostly to music in spanish. she does have a soft-spot for mostly-instrumental psychedelic/space rock of the sleeping pandora and mirovia variety and there i think she'd listen to just about any language.
jessie: @faithfromanewperspective here's your 5s0s fan. also florence, lorde, halsey, and more eclectic stuff like marian hill. i think though she does feel like the kind of person who'd put on pop hit radio mostly while she works, because the djs do all the work for her and she'd rather hear local car dealership ads than ads for mcdonald's.
gadiel: older, left-leaning folk/country. dolly parton, the greatful dead, judy collins. people like that. he didn't really have access to any music at home in the first years of his life except elisa's beloved 90's pop which he hates because it's what she listened to, so hands down he just bought some old guy's collection of cassette tapes after escaping her because he was fascinated with the technology and broke down crying to "ripples" and that was it.
ashanti: both hard-driving blues/punk/rapetc and also soft jazz a la ella fitzgerald. it depends on what her mind needs at the moment.
madeline: she likes grunge, metal, punk, and punk-adjacent. u2, black sabbath, garbage, souxsie and the banshees. she and ashanti would probably agree on bands like five three eyes and meet me @ the altar.
