Yeah they're playing in the states but I Richard Ashcroft, the closest thing to seeing The Verve live, is only officially billed to open for the U.K dates - to see him and Oasis on the same night in the place where it all began for both bands is a no brainer and dream come true. #luckyman

The Verve - Urban Hymns (1997)
Twenty-seven years ago today, on September 29, 1997, Urban Hymns, the third studio album by the Verve, was released. Led by the album’s first two singles—the anthemic “Bittersweet Symphony” and the lamenting cross-generational “The Drugs Don’t Work”—the album was one of the most successful and acclaimed albums of the 90s. With the lion’s share of the credit, for better or worse, going to frontman Richard Ashcroft’s vocals and songwriting maturity, the album is one of the best-selling albums in UK history, having been certified 11-times platinum in the UK alone, won multiple awards, and landed on many year-end lists. While the album’s arduous recording, subsequent massive success, and world tour led directly to the band’s breakup, it is commonly cited as a Britpop landmark and one of the best albums of the decade.
