Eddie Brock Smut Imagines (GN)
*TW! NSFW! Praise kink, degrading, teasing, orgasm denial, rough, pet names, overstimulation, oral, if there’s anything I might have missed please let me know!*
Eddie’s a tease. And he’s good at it. You act like a brat for long enough, you aren’t coming for a while. Trust me.
This man loves you unconditionally and doesn’t want to hurt you in any way so at first he keeps it soft, sweet and vanilla.
Once he becomes more and more comfortable, he starts to show some of his other kinks.
✨AFTERCARE KING✨ Bubble bath? He’ll do it! Snack(s)? Coming up! He won’t let you get up or do anything. He’ll cuddle you afterwords and play with your hair and talk with you if you don’t go right to sleep. Falls asleep with arms around you.
Rough sex with Eddie (and sometimes Venom) is ROUGH. I’ll leave it at that.
Has a MAJOR praise kink. He likes to give and receive with this. Call him a good boy and he just melts.
85 to 90% of the time he calls you honey or hun during and not during sex. Calls you his good girl and hun/honey for both praise and degrading/teasing. “That’s it, that’s my good girl you can take it.” “What’s wrong hun, to much for you?”
Absolutely LOVES the noises you make. Whimper, moan, sigh, your voice, doesn’t matter, he wants to hear you.
He’ll either ask you or move your hand away from your mouth himself or make you look at him so he can hear you. “I wanna hear you honey, please?”
Quite skilled at oral. His favourite thing is when you grab his hair and let him blow/eat you out. This man eats you out as if he’ll never eat again. (Venoms GREAT too 😂😗😙)
Can be loud, but he tries not to be.
Likes missionary and being able to see your face. He also likes it when you ride him as he sits up, against a wall or doggy style so he can whisper to you.
The things he whispers in your ear and the things that comes out of his mouth is FILTHY (in a good way).
Will let you top him.
Knows your body more than you do, knows what to do and where to touch to make you go wild.
*I hope you all like it, please let me know what you’d like me to write or GIF imagines you want me to make and I’ll make them as soon as I can. Good day/night loves!*

Is Klaus a good father?
I've been holding this one back for a while and if you are in this fandom, I'm sure you can imagine why. But recently on tik tok someone told me that I just "didn't understand" Klaus' character. But I promise you I do. Which is why I struggle to like him for most of the show.
Because for 90% of the show Klaus is a terrible brother and father.
We can't talk about Klaus and fatherhood without first talking about Marcel. Klaus took Marcel in with the pretense of adopting him. But he allowed his own jealousy to rob Marcel of having any kind of typical childhood. Elijah wanted to educate Marcel and we see they bonded pretty quickly when Marcel first comes to live with them. And most parents would be thrilled to see a child who has lost his mother and experienced so much trauma was still able to connect with someone and be excited about learning. Instead, he is jealous and releases Kol. He allows Kol to completely go off the rails in the same house where a very mortal child is living.
We don't see any more of their relationship until he is older and we see Klaus interfere with Marcel and Rebekah. Again, some people say it's to protect Marcel, but it wasn't. It followed the same pattern of abuse against Rebekah that we've seen before. He continues to rob Marcel of his choices, with joining the war, with dating Rebekah, and then later by trying to steal the city Marcel had worked over 200 years to solidify. Klaus does not take Marcel in because he wants to be a father, he takes him in because he wants a warrior friend. Which is why he released Kol when he felt Elijah "stole" Marcel from him. He never truly wanted family, he had that. He wanted someone who would go along with his debauchery.
And then Klaus finds out about Hope.
Klaus' first reaction to finding out of Hope's existence was to tell the witches to kill Hayley and the baby. Which I don't fully hold against him since he didn't trust it was his and was scared. But even after he accepts the baby is his and Elijah brings Hayley back to the house, Klaus shows almost no interest in Hayley or the baby. Rather, he is on a power quest to take over New Orleans from his first child.
The first time we get any sense Klaus cares whether the baby lives or dies is when he nearly chokes Hayley to death. I'm sorry, but that is not a sweet moment. It is abuse.
Throughout season 1 we see Elijah and Hayley grow close while Klaus is absent for most of the pregnancy. Klaus even leaves a pregnant Hayley in the woods alone with Elijah while he is suffering from his wolf venom. Elijah could have killed Hayley and Hope, and very nearly did if it wasn't for Eve. Klaus showed no regard for their safety because he got his feelings hurt that his brother doubted his intentions. Intentions that should have been questioned. Elijah had seen Klaus seek power over family for a thousand years and the last thing he heard from Klaus about the baby was he wanted a legacy, not a baby. Yes, there are a couple of moments where we see he cares or is afraid, but he does very little to actually help Hayley throughout her pregnancy. In fact, he kidnaps her and lets his brother watch over her instead of him.
Then Hope is born. Yes, Klaus clearly cares for her. I'm not denying that. But Klaus is a textbook narcissist and they historically do not make the best parents. We see a moment of selflessness when he agrees to send Hope off with Rebekah and clean up the mess he's made in New Orleans. But again, he relies on Elijah to clean it up while he mopes and isn't concerned about the mother of his child until Elijah forces him to.
Again, we have a sweet scene with Hayley and Klaus reuniting with Hope, but it makes no sense that they left her with Elijah. Elijah who was still struggling to control himself after being mentally and physically tortured. The only protection Hope has is Cami who would not be able to protect Hope if Elijah lost control.
Another moment people think is cute, but I find incredibly manipulative, is when Klaus has Cami and Elijah bring Hope back to New Orleans. The city is still unsafe. In fact she had just been attacked by Finn and Freya was on the loose, someone they didn't trust, Rebekah was missing. It was not the time to bring her back. But Klaus wanted to make sure he had his werewolf army, which Hayley went through with the wedding. A good parent would put their child's safety over anything. Hope should have stayed out of New Orleans until he was sure they could protect her. But Klaus continuously puts his own wants over even Hope's safety.
We don't see much of Hope and Klaus' interactions in the month they all live together. In fact, we see Jackson with Hope more. And that's still limited. Hope is sent out to the bayou repeatedly. A lot of this is because Klaus was busy dealing with all of the threats from his family. Again, it was not safe to bring Hope back yet.
When Dahlia shows up, Klaus goes off the rails. People love to say he was a master manipulator, but he really was just going with the flow and picking the most chaotic option available to him. He admitted to killing a friend of the wolves, effectively losing the army he worked so hard to ensure and causing doubt amongst his whole family about his trustworthiness. Again, instead of putting Hope's safety first, he lets his paranoia lead him and he puts Hope in more danger. Dahlia only finds Hope because he hands over his blood. Instead of working with his siblings to defeat Dahlia while Hayley runs with Hope, he betrays everyone and then curses Hayley. Once again, because he's a narcissist and thinks he is the only one who can protect Hope. This is in direct contradiction to the fact that he's seen his family and Hayley fight to the death for Hope already.
For perspective, I think we need a timeline of Hope's life so far: Hope was born and her mother was murdered while holding her mere second after her birth. Then within a few days sent away from her mother. Mothers bonding with babies in the first few days is so important for development. Rebekah raises her for 6 months or so and then she gets to see her mom for a night and her dad for a couple of hours. Cami and Elijah take care of her for a few weeks and then she's in New Orleans living with Hayley, Klaus, and Jackson (people this 7 month only baby really doesn't even know) for a month. Then after adjusting for a month, she loses Hayley and Jackson for 6 more months. Hope is surrounded by Klaus, Freya, and Elijah -- again, people she doesn't really know. The first year of her life is full of upheaval and she is not able to create a secure attachment with anyone. Klaus only makes this worse by taking Hayley away for six months.
And before you say, 'he did it to save her life.' He made absolutely no effort to help save her and even objected to Elijah bringing Hope out to the bayou. It was a punishment for Hayley believing she knew what was best for Hope even though he was behaving in the exact same way. He also apologizes for it and says he was wrong later. He even agrees he shouldn't have done it.
This is where I get frustrated with Klaus stans. People always want to say he has the best character development, but when I call him out for his early behavior, they get upset. It's because of his early behavior we were able to see any growth.
And we do see growth. To me, the most growth is at the end of season 3. Throughout season 3, we also don't see Klaus interact with Hope very much. Hope is mostly just with Hayley or out in the bayou, basically unprotected. But at the end, he finally realizes what it means to be a father. He tells Hayley to take Hope and run. He puts Hope above his own desires. This is the most selfless we ever see Klaus. And it does cost him. He misses out on five years of Hope's life.
When he wakes up, he is still in that same headspace (thank you Cami). The family decides to leave New Orleans alone and abandon the fight with Marcel. This is shocking behavior for Klaus. But he wants to raise his daughter in peace. I love the couple of episodes we get here with them. But then the Hollow happens and they have to go back to New Orleans. Where Klaus imprisons his first child, Marcel. I'm sorry, but no matter what Hope did, Klaus would never treat her the way he treated Marcel. Whether it's racist, sexist, or based on him not being blood, you decide.
Klaus is only in Hope's life for about a week until he has to leave because of the Hollow. Again, this is peek Klaus parenting in this one week. But then while he's gone, he goes off the deep end. He claims it is to keep Elijah safe, but in reality, it is because he has nothing tethering him. Once Hope sees him, he completely cuts her off. He never actually learned to be an everyday father. He only knew how to make the big gestures. He doesn't know how to sit down with her and explain or even how to reach out to Hayley and have an adult conversation. He abandons his daughter to the point that she kidnaps her own mother to get his attention. He falls back into his old habits, putting his comfort over his daughter. Because it's easier to ignore her than to face the harsh reality of dealing with the terrible things he's done and trying to be an actual better person for Hope.
We don't see Klaus act as a parent for another 7 years. And this whole season was just a mess. I do understand he can't be close to her. But they have magic and phones, he could have contacted her better. He should have been more involved. If you follow me on tik tok, you already know how ridiculous I think Hayley's death episode was.
Hayley's death would have been the hardest thing Hope has ever gone through. I hate season 5 for making her bounce back so quickly. Hayley was the one constant in Hope's life. I know everyone wants to act like Klaus' death should have impacted her more, but she didn't really know him. He was more of an idea to her than an actual person.
Hope was falling apart for most of season 5, so Klaus gets the bright idea to kill himself less than a week after Hope loses her mother. This is portrayed as the ultimate sacrifice for his daughter, but it was incredibly selfish. Elijah was willing and able to die by himself, but because Klaus didn't want another man to die for his daughter, Hope had to lose both her parents in the span of a week. Not only that, but feel responsible for their deaths. I will be the first to admit, season 5 was just bad writing because the showrunners were ready to move on to Legacies. But it's all we have.
All of the development we see with Klaus is destroyed in season 5. I am hard on Klaus' character because this fandom loves to let him get away with everything. But I do genuinely like aspects of his character. And, as I said, I do love the one week of his relationship with Hope, but it's not enough to overshadow the danger and hurt he put her through.

Kraven The Hunter - spoiler-free
So, I went to see this movie
It is a part of much-maligned Sony's Spider-Man villainverse and as it seems it is ( at this point) the final installation in that series. I enjoy the Venom films. As someone who has watched movies and superhero movies since the eighties the three Venom movies have The spirit of 1990's and 2000's movies but they are way better. Madame Web is a good bad movie, it has good cast but it is so awkward it is endearing. Then there is Morbius. Which started way better than I expected. But that is a bad, bad movie.
Kraven The Hunter is a glorious swan song. I hear it is critically panned and deemed a failure, a flop. That is shame number one.
I had trust in this having seen the directors previous film, A Most Violent Year. J.C.Chandor can make taut crime movies that have character side and the plot.
The titular Kraven is played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
And he commits. There is brooding, arrogance and certain hint of mental instability in his performance. His russian heritage makes him automatically antihero if one a) has excess of two braincells and b) has at all followed current events of...say the past 90 years.
His family connections to russian mafia/organized crime ( bratva) are done pretty nicely. Casting Russell Crowe as his father was genius. That dynamic works.
They changed Calypso too.
See? In comics she wears next to nothing as voodoo priestess of sorts but here she is subliime thanks to Ariana DeBose.
It is a streetlevel superhuman gangland/actionthriller. Felt like Gangs of London with some added superpowers. " But it does not have Spider-Man! What point is there to have a non-Spider-Man Spider-Man movie?" say those same people who complain when they see Batman origin story told the tenth time.
This does what I presume was the concept: provide the villain's origin story to show what Spider-Man will be up against.
Kraven and Venom are the strong contenders out there. Yes some CGI is not the best, but have seen worse. Some from MCU. And were this, as is, an original IP they would compare it to the first Darkman,
Not perfect but good and remember I said "first shame"? When I left the theatre I knew that the biggest shame is if all this is lost. I would love to see movie adaptation of the classic Kraven's Last Hunt. And not as a PG-13.

MarvelDC anon x5 sorry im back again I just wanted to say I agree 100% with everything you say and don’t rly have anything to add there that isnt just recycling your points. It’s genuinely fucking crazy how the entire point of the superhero in 90% of cases is that they are vigilantes who operate outside of the legal system and yet so many of them are given plot lines about how the cops or the military are Awesome. Or like will show them buddy buddy with cops or the government. LIKE STOP ITTTT. STOP ITTTTT. And most of the time too it’s for characters where them being hyper connected with the government etc makes their overall story Worse. Ill use flash as an example bc You Know that guy but I LOVE flash I love him as a disabled character struggling w addiction issues for personal reasons BUT HIM LOSING HIS LEGS LIKE SHOOTING PEOPLE IN THE SWANA REGION AND THEN BECOMING A GOVERNMENT GUY IS SO FUCKING ASSSSSSS IT MAKES HIM WORSE AS A CHARACTER AND A PERSON IN A WAY THAT ISNT INTERESTING BECAUSE THEY NEVER SAY ANYTHING INTERESTING ABOUT IT!!!!! Like why the fuck did Flash even become disabled in regard to Going To Commit Imperialism For The U. S. A like NYC gets destroyed on the daily!!!! Have him lose his legs by a building falling on top of him!!!! Im spitballing ideas here but why wasn’t Venom Flash uhhhhhh Him Losing his legs in an event like that, in conjunction with him saving someone else, since this is the era of Symby and Eddie's breakup Symby is slithering along + sees this and helps him out, bc you know they can make their own choices and do what they want and maybe they wanna be a hero too even for a moment, then like maybe a few months later or whatever They Meet again and Symby is like hey….. I felt something when we bonded for that brief time. Im going through something rough too right now (The Divorce) so why don’t we try something new together. AND NOW BOOM. you can have Flash as Venom. Now without the stupid venom as addiction metaphor too! Like if you really fucking want you can include stuff about the government trying to manipulate them or whatever but as a whole this would have been so much better of an angle to start venom flash with but NO that we DIDNT GET Because Of The Military Complex meaning We Cant Ever Have Good Things
i know this is so controversial among the venom fans but like i'm really not that attached to flash lmfao i know nothing about him he's just some guy to me i just know he's so much better than mac gargan cuz by god that was a dark time for venom comics.
so now i'm the one nodding along with you and not adding anything lol. i trust you to come up with a better backstory for him because i literally don't know anything about him beyond the vaguest outline. i don't even know what war he fought in that he lost his legs to i dont know Anything. eddie some little absolute freak to me but flash is just some guy
Like if you really fucking want you can include stuff about the government trying to manipulate them or whatever but as a whole this would have been so much better of an angle to start venom flash with but NO that we DIDNT GET Because Of The Military Complex meaning We Cant Ever Have Good Things
i do have to say though that this is totally how i thought venom 2011 was going to go. the first like, four-ish issues got my hopes up so much. i really honestly thought it was going to be drawing parallels between symby and flash how they are ultimately just tools of the government, just weapons that can be discarded in pushing the military's agenda.
this whole page drove me insane at the time and it still kinda does. the way flash is lying directly to his superior to stay with symby longer despite how much he's been drilled that being with the symbiote too long is a danger. they aren't friends yet this early but there's still this impulse to stick with it. and it's because they're parallels!!! the symbiote is quite literally being treated as a mindless tool by the government - it's deprived of all rights that a sentient, sapient being requires. it's trapped and it's being forced into serving and fighting on behalf of a government that doesn't even care for it. likewise, flash is being given the illusion of choice, and to some extent he still does have a choice, but he's being so manipulated by the government here that really he is also just a mindless tool for them - or at least, they want him to be mindless about it. the final fucking panel at the bottom of the final page is crazy.
it was such a strong start to a run that i was very apprehensive about due to aforementioned lack of knowledge of flash as a character, and my general fed-up-ness with the way the comics had been handling venom and eddie in general during that irl time period. so i was so so hoping that it would be taking a blatant and staunch anti-military stance, or even at the bare minimum if it was even still done in a liberal way, as long as there was still SOME criticism of the military complex i would be jumping for joy. and the idea of flash and symby then also bonding during all that?!! crazy. but then it just kinda. goes off the fucking rails halfway through that run/??? like demons and hell and satan kinda off the rails. absolute bonkers. i need to reread venom 2011 actually i barely remember it it was like a fever dream to me. could have been because i descended into madness shortly after i read it but i digress
#side note is this the same anon as the v2003 sexism one cuz lol#we are out here critically analyzing marvel comics for all their spoken and unspoken biases prejudices and propagandas#ask#Anonymous#v posting#re: what war flash fought in#pretty sure i saw in some ASM issues he was in vietnam#but then also pretty sure i saw in .. some other issues. cant remember which. that he was in afghanistan#and it's like so incredibly dystopian to me that the US is such a war mongering machine that fucking superhero comics need to#adapt their characters to whatever war we're currently waging across the globe

Dragon AU: Krubera
They have Lighter under belly and a darker back
Horns used to break things simaler to narwhal, females have larger sets of Horns
They mate for life, and can only have one mate, however they may have multiple "bonds"
Bonds are right below mates, they are usually started between Krubera who have strong familie or platonic relationships, and help to strengthen the Krubera tribe
mating rituals include presenting a stone to their chosen mate in hopes that they will accept. Like penguins
Krubera are compatible with Gum-Gum dragons, it works like ligers (Tiger + lion) where sometimes the offspring are fertile and other times they are not
Usurna is the strongest within her tribe, she's much older than most of the krubera, it works simaler to httyd with the whole older dragons becoming titan wing dragons. Because she's older she's bigger and a little bit fancier looking than your average krubera
Krubera have venomous bars that retract under their arm fins
The Krubera are deep sea dragons, however they are capable of traveling above surface when necessary
Krubera are usually slower on land than the water, however do not let that provide you with a sense of security, they can and most likely will still catch you
They are pact hunter
Their gills are oddly enough, on their stomachs, this means they are usually much more defensive of that area
Krubera bow to greet each other
A Krubera may present their stomach as a sign that they trust someone, it usually seen as an affectionate gesture
Krubera are very protective of their whelps, especially the females, so much so that Female Krubera have been known to show signs of aggression to their own mates During the whelp's early developmental stages.
Engaging a Krubera is rarely survived, most of what is known of them comes from the Krubera themselves, and is only shared with other dragons
Humans know very little on Krubera
A grown Krubera wingspan may range from 85-90 feet , they can be around 65- 80 feet long. While it was never confirmed to be true their was a time where some would report sightings of a Krubera dragon with a supposed wingspan of 120. In other words they are very big dragons
They have been known to sink ships that get to close to their trench/territory
They are very social creatures and have to be within at least a group of three other dragons to keep a good mental state (However this group does not necessarily need to be only Krubera, this group can be comprised of a multitude of dragon species and on very rare occasions such as in AAARRRGGGHHH's case, humans)
This is what your average female Krubera would look like
#trollhunters#queen usurna#aaarrrgghh#Krubera#trollhunters au#i made half of this up at like#1:30 last night#The weird glowing things on Usurna's back are from one of her early concept designs#idk if I want them to speak or not#Probably will have them speak just for story purposes#Gonna do all the trolls first then work on Jim and the gang#Dragons#The gum-gums are next#AAARRRGGGHHH considers Toby as a bond in this AU because I love their friendship#This AU is loosely base off of httyd#it's gonna be set in England and stuff#Hearthstone is also like 4x bigger#mostly because I want to make a lot of the dragons big

Frankly if you asked me, all of that unnecessary misdirection and twists that left poor Tim at the ‘make him angsty and edgier’ block for later writers to force upon him was the result of the whole darker and edgier train that permeated not just the Batbooks but the whole industry throughout the decade he was in.
Basically short, in my honest opinion, Tim Drake was the perfect character at the absolutely wrong time.
The 90s edgier nonsense (as foreshadowed by the marvelous competition’s hefty promotion of Venom, Cable and other like minded antiheroes, Early Image having a foundation built on that) made possible with the Batmania (since he’s naturally the perfect candidate for darker and edgier due to both his gothic aesthetic and his insane popularity) unfortunately gave the writers of that era and the 2000s the impression that since it’s Gotham, things in universe are just miserable and sucky
And since Tim lives in Gotham, despite meant to be the counter to that misery that permeates the city he helps defend, it was only a matter of time before that wrong impression got to him too
It’s why to this day, my preferred Tim Drake is that original Fanboy we saw in A Lonely Place of Dying since in the end, that’s what he’s meant to be, beginner or not and why I am still reluctant to get anything Dixon related on both him and Nightwing since those runs are built on that train of thought that says ‘misery in setting and edgier characters means compelling and mature storytelling, especially in Gotham’
I know, long winded, I just needed to vent. You may ignore this if you wish to
Bro, I just asked #cats what a raw potato tasted like, I don't feel like ignoring much.
And, I wouldn't say Tim was in the wrong time. He has his great successes in the 90s. The main reason he's talked about past people's obsession with one story in Red Robin, that has slowly lost popularity 'cause of people realizing it wasn't the best Tim--is 'cause of the 90s.
There was plenty of people who were sick of the big overexaggerated 90s crap even if it did infest Tim a bit when they'd draw him way buffer than he was clearly meant to be.
It's all just a matter of writers with the ability to do better either not advancing to the right places in comics, or throwing their talents down the toilet to be there.
It's all about good writing. That's it, really, that's the big secret.
Why is Dick a massive joke of a character now? 'Cause the writing got bad.
Why did Batman look like a total maniac more like usual for a while? 'Cause the writing got bad.
Why is Damian totally unrecognizable a lot of the time on nearly every single level for over a decade now(Though I have heard some aspects like art have been getting better, or so I've seen thankfully, but I'm still not trusting that all the way because now this fucking fucking hell)? 'Cause the work got bad.
Why is Jason just a fan fic edgy woobie fuck a lot of the time now? 'Cause the writing got bad.
How did Steph go from edgy, determined, "vigilante vixen", who was morally kinda questionable at times go to acting like a 12-year-old sometimes? 'Cause the writing got bad.
No matter what in the end. It's all down to the writing, and also art.
There's always been good movies in every decade no matter the taste, because people with true talent and knowledge, and know-how where out there to make so happen.
Comics being a dwindling medium that's how a down-turn in quality going on for a long time? It's just not a business worth getting into anymore. Passion or not, people just aren't good writers. And that can happen in any era.
But back to the main point, Tim was at his most popular in the 90s in an era you wouldn't think he'd fit into with all the Rob Liefeld stuff. Like he got an 80-page-giant in the late 90s over some characters you think would actually get one because he was so naturally popular.
But what made him work then isn't dated. It's timeless. They just haven't had good enough writers to make him work, and it sucks, but it's how it is.
The reason Tim really got changed so much isn't down to tastes in an era. It's down to the taste of a few people in specific positions. Things that made Tim work were still working wonders in other places.

please tell me more about your 616/Sonyverse crossover ideas that you rambled about here, I want to know more 🙏
(also NEVERRRR apologize for lots of tags, you and I have been in this Venom fandom doing CPR on it intermittently for the last like 5+ years at minimum. we are in this TOGETHER)
@kitausuret
Oh it's not much more than just a half-formed concept, really. One of a billion ideas on the backburner. 😳
The notion is just that instead of the canon ending of Venom 2, one of Doctor Strange's portals open up and Cletus, Frances, and Carnage end up falling into the 616 universe during 616 Carnage's debut and Maximum Carnage.
Carnage informs them they are in another universe.
It quickly dawns on them all that no one knows them here, and it's the early 90s--its like the years they lost to horror and imprisonment they just got back. They are ecstatic at the notion that they can actually live their lives here for real this time.
And people with powers are everywhere here, right out in the open and not getting rounded up by shady government agencies (at least not to their knowledge) so it feels like a fresh start in every way.
Carnage ensures that they won't want for money because all bills are being sent to the first megacorp they came across (which happened to be Oscorp which will no doubt cause problems later but that's a problem for their future selves).
* The Custody Dispute and first contact with the Heroes
They rescue a baby who was thrown off a roof (by a certain SOMEONE) because it's distressing Frances.
When a guy in red and blue spandex shows up and demands the kid they initially refuse because like hell they're going to trust some random weirdo in spandex who just tried to attack them.
How do they know he didn't toss the kid off the roof himself?
Only when Venom arrives do they open up lines of communication.
"...Eddie? Eddie Brock?"
It's Eddie, but different. Not their Eddie. That quickly becomes apparent. But while they chat the guy in the red and blue bondage gear stops attacking them so it seemed worthwhile.
Venom: "You know us?"
Cletus: "We do. We know you, hero. A man of honor, champion of the little guy."
(Not really, he'd trusted Eddie and he stabbed them in the back with that article but this Eddie seemed to be eating it up.)
But it seemed they might have made a friend.
Cletus had wanted to be his Eddie's friend but that hadn't turned out too well.
Back in their world their Venom was gonna bite their head off and their Eddie was going to let them.
Still they trust this Eddie more than they trust the spider weirdo--they are at least familiar even if it isn't their Eddie and Venom but they refuse to give them the kid too.
(Later when they get to know more about Eddie and Peter and the things this Eddie has done, they come to like Peter better. And sure it might be hypocritical to scold Eddie about MJ when he had kidnapped Anne but Frances had told him, shown him it was WRONG and hurting innocents was too much. So if it was wrong for him, it was wrong for others to do it too.)
Right now though they don't really trust either of them. And after years of incarceration, they all know better than to needlessly give out information. Only Eddie had ever made Cletus want to open up about his past--he would not make that mistake again.
They don't give them their real names and Cletus, Frances, and Carnage look different enough from 616 counterparts that Eddie and Peter don't immediately make the connection. They think it is yet another symbiote and host.
(Peter, whining: why did it have to be symbiotes?)
Venom notices that this man's symbiote feels oddly familiar but they know it's but not their spawn, not the one they were pursuing so at first they assume another symbiote somehow found its way to Earth.
Frances and Cletus negotiate the return of the child they'd only give the kid to the kid's family or guardian and only if the family or guardian wasn't hurting him.
Both Spidey and Venom mellow out somewhat when it becomes apparent they don't want to hurt the kid, just want to make sure he's safe. They were just concerned citizens who somehow, inexplicably didn't trust Spider-man (thanks J.J.) It's not like this is Carnage....
Meanwhile Frances proclaims that if a suitable parent or guardian wasn't found they'd raise him themselves if we have to.
(Cletus felt ice in his veins at the notion. Family, its all he ever wanted. But... what if he was like his dad? His family? He never learned any better...)
Eventually Shriek does hand the kid over to his mom.
The standoff ends and Spider-guy and this world's Eddie went off to pursue the guy that tossed the baby off the roof.
They thought that would be the end of it.
They resume their extradimensional honeymoon and eventually find and buy a nice house in upstate New York with Norman Osborn's money to play house in (except this was real, wasn't it? Cletus wanted it to be. He'd wanted this for so long... except he was still him and there was a monster inside of him, a beast that wasn't Carnage but was all him wanted out to taste the moonlight).
And that Spider-guy and not-their-Eddie seem to be keeping tabs on them. Spying on them...
Cletus and Frances are just trying to play house and pretend to be normal but they still have issues and being stalked by the Spidey and Venom isn't helping.
Eddie and Peter are still keeping tabs on them, suspicious...
(Eddie and Venom are spared from betrayal and Ravencroft of 616 in this au because Peter figures he might still need him against this mystery symbiote. Maybe the stranger mentioning that they knew a Venom who was an honorable guy also shames Peter into not being a total backstabbing tool. Maybe there was more to Venom than he thought... or maybe he was just a dick. Peter against his better judgment is becoming closer to his frenemy as they work this case together but also feels guilty because MJ would never approve.)
Even later when other heroes vouch for Cletus and Frances and their symbiote there are unanswered questions and they are uncooperative...
The Issues
-Carnage is bored but Cletus is still pissed at [him/her]* for hurting Frances and almost getting them killed.
Carnage: Why are you mad? 🥺 I am just a little creature. I cannot change this. 🥺
(*Carnage eventually asks to be called she/her like their 616 counterpart. While Carnage doesn't really have a gender Cletus is nicer when he thinks of Carnage as a woman. While he doesn't treat her like Frances like she'd hoped he would there are fewer cutting remarks coming her way...)
Frances is more forgiving of Carnage because she acknowledges she was hurting her with her powers without meaning to and Red also did save both their lives. But Carnage is on thin ice and knows it and quickly learns not to have verbal arguments with Cletus within her earshot.
Frances never learned to control her powers on account of being stuck in a box.
(They end up having to repair a lot of windows and deal with a lot of noise complaints.)
Also Cletus still feels the urge to kill. He was always a killer with or without the monster but the monster certainly wasn't helping matters...
Carnage manages to assuage some of their anger at her by healing and soothing Frances's injuries in the immediate aftermath of the red wedding and in doing so becomes resistant to sonics when he copies Frances's immunity to her own power so no longer has that issue. But there are others--Carnage is bored and jealous and doesn't feel appreciated. And it takes a while for Cletus and Frances to warm up to him/her again. For the most part they just try to live their lives, ignoring the parasite as best they can...
Still for Cletus and Frances, compared to their life before, it's almost perfect.
Frances wants kids.
Cletus goes from disbelief to gratitude. Only later comes terror as it occurs to him that he is screwed up, that his whole idea of family is screwed up. What if he was like his family to them... or worse?
Worried about the prospect he might hurt his family, Cletus seeks professional help.
He didn't know if anyone could help him, he was probably beyond help, but he wanted to at least try, for Frances's sake, for the sake of their family.
He wouldn't make her go though, given her experience with so-called therapists he wouldn't blame her if she didn't want to but he felt he needed this. He couldn't be falling back into bad habits and he still hadn't even processed this whole thing with Carnage...
As luck would have it a name popped up on the Internet immediately--renowned in the field of psychiatry and an advocate for mutant rights and his institute was like right next door...
Asking for help isn't easy but ironically enough he'd gotten better about it because of Carnage.
"I'm trying to find someone who can help me. I didn't... I didn't know this place was a school."
He shouldn't be here.
Cletus panics when he learns the man is a telepath but then learns he can't read his thoughts. They're just too alien.
But he was going to need to tell him anyway, what he was, at least some of it, if he hoped to get help...
It would have been easier if Xavier could have just pried it from his brain.
Nightcrawler: "You're not the first killer he's helped find new purpose."
Carnage: That doesn't sound creepy at all.
Whatever. He needed to do this. He'd do it if he could protect Frances from himself...
Carnage: This could be a cult as far as you know.
Cletus: Xavier was your find, your idea.
Carnage: And now I'm regretting it... we're not wearing blue and yellow.
It turns out Dr. Charles Xavier can and does help him, the X-men help him figure out Carnage too, and they can help Frances learn to control her powers.
The X-men offer to help him to learn to bond and cooperate with Carnage or seperate them if they'd prefer.
Cletus seriously considers separation before Carnage grovels and promises to do better for both him and Frances.
Cletus and Carnage actually bond as they learn to listen to each other and Carnage learns to appreciate Frances.
The X-men let them use the Danger Room whenever they need it and so far against impossible odds they have managed to avoid murder in this place.
He's never had luck like this before. He wants to just be happy here with Frances, with Carnage. But he keeps waiting for the other shoe to drop...
Then it does.
When the two Carnages eventually meet Cletus is horrified and absolutely hates his counterpart.
Cletus is haunted by the notion that that monster shares his name. It shouldn't bother him so much--he already shared his surname with three other monsters. But the notion that that could actually be him... He has plenty of screws loose but how could he ever end up like THAT?
Only later does he realize that unlike him, his counterpart never had an angel come save him, he had no one. Only then does he muster a sliver of compassion but then 616!Cletus views the other as soft and weak, not having the guts to see his vision, and tries to kill Shriek when he realizes she's the reason for his "weakness" leading to absolute well... Carnage by her enraged husband. A no-holds barred beatdown as Peter tries to prevent him from killing his counterpart...

ULTRAMagic Interval Chapter 10
Previous | First | Next
Master Post - Patreon
Bethany had been looking for ways to get to Will ever since the encounter with Valentin in the city. That scuffle was supposed to be a distraction for M.A.I.G., but was ruined when Valentin decided he wanted to be quirky and teleported the fight to the perimeter of the base. Either way, Bethany was going to get back at Will for the fight in his dream. That defeat was humiliating.
Of course she also needed a way to get rid of that god-awful Despot. Bethany was steadily catching on to who he was and was realizing he was not to be trusted in the slightest. As annoying as Valentin was, he was infinitely more preferable to the dregs she had dealt with in the Death Knell coven. Bethany had found a nice glen on the second day to sit and scheme, but this was cut short when a helicopter thundered by overhead.
This was cause for concern like everything else, but Bethany sensed something that chilled her spectral blood and elicited silent panic. She knew who was coming and rushed back to her crypt. Once she was inside, she slammed the stone doors shut and blocked them with her body, taking a moment to catch her breath.
Valentin appeared to be writing something down, remaining focused on his work “You better have a good reason as to why you still don’t have Will’s soul…”
“Zoltan…”
“Zoltan? Zoltan who?” He was not amused.
“Zoltan Dracul, you idiot!”
“And that concerns us how?”
Bethany gave an exasperated breath. “He was one of the people who sealed me away here…”
Valentin scoffed. “Sounds like a you problem.”
Rightfully annoyed, Bethany summoned a scorpion’s tail from her back. Coiled around Valentin, she dragged him over to the far wall. “You see that crest? That’s what we’re dealing with!”
Taking a second to marvel at the grand carving, it quickly dawned on Valentin. “Damn it! Another complication…” A stone medallion at his work space then started humming, causing him to grit his teeth and growl.
“Oh lovely, you know who again…”
“Don’t breathe a single word!” Valentin ordered.
“Don’t need to tell me twice…” Bethany muttered as she slid into a dark part of the crypt.
Valentin snapped his fingers, causing a cloud of what looked like a mix of smoke and blood to rise up from the stone artifact. The mass then took the shape of Despot’s head. His expression was serious and it seemed like he was in no mood for theatrics.
“Greetings, Mr. Friedrich. What does our glorious commandant want on this… sublime day?” It was easy to detect the venom in Valentin’s tone of voice.
“Where is the soul, Karpinnen? Time is not on our side and the more you bumble about, the more advantage we lose. You should have delivered the soul by now.”
“To insinuate I made such a guarantee is to demand the universe of me, herr kommandant. These things take time after all…”
Despot was not pleased. “Time we do not have, Karpinnen. My patience is wearing thin. Continue to fail me and there will be dire consequences.”
“What are you going to do? Stick me in an oven? Because that worked so well 90 years ago…”
This warranted a very angry growl. “You bumbling waste of a court jester! Any sensible ruler would have you beheaded the instant they saw your putrid…”
“Oh shut the Hell up, you Nuremberg fugitive” Valentin shot back as he snapped his finger, causing the medallion to explode. He then stood there for a moment, remaining silent to collect his thoughts.
“So now what?” Bethany asked as she stepped out of the shadows.
Valentin glanced at the scorpion’s tail. “How about you actually use the manticore, given all the trouble I went through to get it” he snapped.
“Right, that monstrosity…” Bethany groaned as she vanished.
Back at M.A.I.G. headquarters, Will got up from the desk in the guest bedroom. Adrien had given him some documents to fill out, relating to everything he had been going through up until then. Having finished up his work, Will stepped outside. Glancing down the hall, he saw something that made him freeze. There were two men in the living room. One was Captain Antares, a strong looking officer in a Liger Brigade uniform, with mauve colored hair and golden eyes. The other was a tall man in black business suit, with blood red eyes and dark hair in an executive contour cut.
The tall man smiled. “Salutări, Will” he called out, only for Will to go right back inside.
Antares sighed. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it” he said as he walked over to the door. “Will, get out here.” There was silence. “That’s an order, Private.”
After a moment, a kick was heard. “Damn it!”
“Hey!” Reynard called out. “Easy on the door, Will!”
Will stepped out and sighed. “Coming sir…”
Antares shook his head and gave him a quick hug. “It’s not the end of the world, Will,” He reassured him as they took a seat in the living room.
“Hey, Zoltan…” Will said with another sigh. Sam, who was sitting right next to Will, lightly kicked him in the shin. “Ow!”
Zoltan laughed, feeling sorry. “Glad to see you’re safe and sound, Will. Truthfully I did not expect to be dealing with Bethany again. Would you believe that was over 60 years ago, my boy? I certainly can’t…”
Will felt a smile start to creep across his face. “I’d believe it.”
“I take it she chased you around in the first dream you had of her?” Will nodded. “Ah, that means you're the chosen one to seal her away next…”
“Wait, WHAT!?” Will exclaimed. Sam was also caught off guard.
“HA, joking, joking!” Zoltan said as he slapped his leg. Will gave him an incredulous glare. “This time I plan to pacify her, somehow. Not to throw your grandfather under the bus, Antares, but I think sealing her away was a bandage solution at best.”
“Unfortunately,” Antares admitted. “Don’t worry, Private, this situation has the full attention of the brigade. If things go south, we’ll have Camelot here in no time.”
“Shoot, the whole sky fortress?” Will asked. “Are things really that bad?”
“To be fair, Will, I’ve got GRENADIER on speed dial just in case,” Reynard pointed out. “Intel suggests all of this could easily escalate. We’ll evacuate the whole city if we have to.”
“Wow…”
“This is a serious situation, Private,” Antares stated. “We need to be ready to shoot first and ask questions later.”
Sam put her arm around Will. “Don’t worry, Boyo, we’ll make it through this.”
Zoltan picked up a small cooler and set it on the coffee table. He then got out what appeared to be a candy bar. “Now, Will, Milan has prepared this chocolate bar for you.”
“Chocolate?” Will took the bar. “What for?”
“It’s infused with magic intended to restore your memories. This should dispel the spell Milan cast on you after the incident at the academy. Given what’s currently going on, he feels it’s time you regained your memories. As an aside, it’s completely homemade chocolate.”
Will unwrapped part of the chocolate. It looked quite tasty, having a very pleasing aroma to it. “Mm… well, here I go…”
“Oh, Will, the memories won’t come back all at once,” Zoltan put in. “But just in case the unpredictable happens, Morana is deeply sorry for all of the trouble she caused you back then.”
Will nodded and took a bite. The chocolate was very good, being sweetened dark chocolate. As he ate, he felt the warmth of nostalgia flood into his mind. Hearing echoes of a simpler time, Will began yearning to comprehend where these feelings were coming from. The haze that clouded his mind was still there, but it was starting to slowly dissipate. Annoyingly this sensation was cut off by a splitting headache that came out of nowhere, but it also felt like a lock was being undone. Will needed to stand up, hoping that would clear his head. His breathing was a little shallow, but he remained steady.
“How do you feel, Private?” Antares inquired.
“Ow, alright, I guess…” Will then had a memory pop up. “Oh God… Faustus!?!”
The fire devil appeared out of nowhere in a flash of sparks and embers. “What’s up, Kiddo?”
“The library’s copy of the Witch’s Codex! I didn’t return it when I was supposed to! I mean I was going to, but then I went to that small graduation party Mortis threw for us and…”
“Champ, relax. Mable and Evan took care of it for you.”
Will settled down. “That’s a relief…”
Antares got up and stood before Will. “I don’t mean to interrupt your trip down memory lane, but Adrien told me about the soul fragment stuff and I’d like to lend a hand.”
“Oh, he did? Well yeah, it’s something called ULTRAMagic. Sam told me about it.”
“While I’m not exactly sure what that is at the moment, it is my duty as your commanding officer to help you out with this…” Focusing his magic, he snapped his fingers… twice. “Um, I’m not exactly sure how to do this.”
Sam stuttered a little and stood up. “Captain, come here for a second and touch your head against mine.”
“Pardon me, Sam?”
“We’re not going to kiss, just touch your head to mine…” She had to pull him in, but was successful.
Antares felt a surge through his mind that turned into a headache, but gave way to a pleasant euphoria. “Oh, I get it now!” He then snapped his fingers once more, causing a yellow flame to appear. “Here you go, Private.”
“Thanks, Antares.” Once again, the fragment spiraled up Will’s arm and went into his head, causing his eyes to turn yellow for a second. “Huh, not as intense as your fragment, Sam.”
“Well I did say it would mellow out as you go.”
Zoltan clapped. “Most excellent, Will. Most excellent indeed. Keep that up and you’ll be able to join the ULTRAMagic Guild in no time.” This caused Sam to quietly groan. “Now, Reynard, shall we head to the War Room to talk to the others?”
“Yes, as we have a lot of stuff to discuss,” he replied as he indicated for everyone to follow him.
As the group walked down the hallways, Zoltan tapped Will on the shoulder. “Given what’s going on, Vlastimir should be here soon.”
“No way! How’s he doing?”
“Fantastic. We finally found him two years ago. It turns out he got sent to The Unlight after the incident at the academy.”
“That’s bizarre. Sam?”
She shrugged. “It’s not impossible. The Cosmos is a strange place after all.”
Reynard opened the double doors and led everyone in. “Ladies and gentleman, Zoltan is in the building.”
“Bună ziua tuturor!” Zoltan said as some of the higher ups got up to greet him.
Mayhem was with Buster and Olivia at one of the break tables. He gestured for Will and the others to come over. “Will, sorry I’ve been in and out so much. I was just getting the lay of the land and whatnot.”
“It’s alright.” Will then noticed Buster, feeling a tinge of adrenaline. “Buster?!”
“Yes, it’s me, Will,” he said with a smile. “This is my true self.”
“You look so cool!” Will exclaimed. “What even are you?”
“He’s one of The Dream of Old, a 1 dimensional entity not too far off from what you truly are” Mayhem answered.
Sam was surprised. “Buster, what prompted this? I figured you wanted to stay in hiding.”
“I thought about it, Sam, and I feel safe here at the moment. If the cult comes after me, I’ll fight tooth and nail. Odo is going to have a conniption, but I’m not running anymore.”
Antares took some food and chuckled. “Don’t worry, Buster. We’ll send the entire brigade after them if need be. Olivia, how are you doing?”
“Hey, cousin. Just a little surprised that my boyfriend is an eldritch entity from another dimension is all.”
Faustus chuckled. “If you think that’s strange, Sam’s a succubus who’s the emanation of an angel that was born in Inferno.”
“Well that explains a lot…” Olivia concluded. “Either way, Buster is still the cuddly goofball I fell in love with, so it’s not that big of a deal.”
Will then realized something. “Actually, Olivia, I think you’re the only normal one out of all of us. I’m a dullahan, Sam’s a succubus, Antonio’s a spider demon, Randalph’s a goat, Kyu’s an alien, Buster’s a… Buster…”
Buster laughed. “We wouldn’t be out of place in The Unlight, truth be told. Also, Will, I see you got another fragment.”
“You can sense that?”
“Yup. My brother, Odo, taught me how to, as it was a bit necessary at the time… Anyways, my memories before my time on this Earth are taking a bit to come back, but I do remember members of the ULTRAMagic Guild helping me and my brother out, which obviously led me coming to live with you guys.”
“Oh, where is your brother?”
“I don’t know,” Buster said with a sigh. “Now Will, ULTRAMagic is a very powerful trait to have. And if any of this Bethany stuff relates to the cult, you’re going to need to go all the way with this…”
Buster presented an Indigo orb to Will, his soul fragment. Sam was about to raise her concerns, but the reflection of Morrigan appeared in a monitor and gave her an expecting look. Staying quiet, Sam watched as Will absorbed his next fragment. Morrigan then gave her a thumbs up and vanished.
“So how do you feel, Boyo?” Sam inquired.
“Great! Also, Buster, how do I get armor like that?”
He laughed. “I mean, this is and is not my body…”
Will poked an armor plate. “What? Is this like your skin then?”
“Yes and no.”
“So does this mean you’re technically running around naked?” They all laughed.
Antares patted Will on the shoulder. “Ha, come on, Private. Let’s go see if the others need us and tell them the good news.”

"Samael." From Surah 27, An Naml, "The Ant."
The Neqman, the Archangel Samael, the Destroyer of Sinners has said we must have revenge against the Republicans in America who have turned the world into their footstools like they are the little pig toes of Allah Himself.
The moment I stepped outside, a disgusting blob of flesh, Karl Rove, sensing his new chances to kill the message about his Party came looking for me. He threatened to rape me again and kill me for sure this time. Guess who emboldened him so? It wasn't the fear of God.
At the same time, Michael Simet, the favorite prostitute of Lindsey Graham, Roger Wicker, and Mitt Romney started a riot against Israeli sports fans in Amsterdam.
youtube
Attorneys and judges are once again blocking prosecution of Donald Trump for his many evil crimes and this means he will not get his just desserts. The omens are not positive, and this means it is time for the Venom of God.
We have opened the Sewer Gate again. Why did we do this? What should we do? The Quran says "go back to the dust, to the Verses and maintain the qualities of the mind, the ones God hid there for just such an occasion. My goal is to establish some other basis for existence than other hope, worry, fear, or the need to breathe through suffering in order to human on this planet. This is admittedly hard to believe after days like Tuesday is it not?
27: 67-90:
"The disbelievers ask, “When we and our fathers are reduced to dust, will we really be brought forth ˹alive˺?
We have already been promised this, as well as our forefathers earlier. This is nothing but ancient fables!”
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Travel throughout the land and see the fate of the wicked.”
Do not grieve for them, nor be distressed by their schemes.
They ask ˹the believers˺, “When will this threat come to pass, if what you say is true?”
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Perhaps some of what you seek to hasten is close at hand.”
Surely your Lord is ever Bountiful to humanity,1 but most of them are ungrateful.
And surely your Lord knows what their hearts conceal and what they reveal.1
For there is nothing hidden in the heavens or the earth without being ˹written˺ in a perfect Record.1
ndeed, this Quran clarifies for the Children of Israel most of what they differ over.
And it is truly a guide and mercy for the believers.
Your Lord will certainly judge between them by His justice, for He is the Almighty, All-Knowing.
So put your trust in Allah, for you are surely upon the ˹Path of˺ clear truth.
You certainly cannot make the dead hear ˹the truth˺. Nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs and walk away.
Nor can you lead the blind out of their misguidance. You can make none hear ˹the truth˺ except those who believe in Our revelations, ˹fully˺ submitting ˹to Allah˺.
And when the decree ˹of the Hour˺ comes to pass against them, We will bring forth for them a beast from the earth,1 telling them that the people had no sure faith in Our revelations.
˹Watch for˺ the Day We will gather from every faith-community a group of those who denied Our revelations, and they will be driven in ranks.
When they ˹finally˺ come before their Lord, He will ask ˹them˺, “Did you deny My revelations without ˹even˺ comprehending them? Or what ˹exactly˺ did you do?”
And the decree ˹of torment˺ will be justified against them for their wrongdoing, leaving them speechless.
Do they not see that We made the night for them to rest in and the day bright?1 Surely in this are signs for those who believe.
And ˹beware of˺ the Day the Trumpet will be blown, and all those in the heavens and all those on the earth will be horrified ˹to the point of death˺,1 except those Allah wills ˹to spare˺. And all will come before Him, fully humbled.
Now you see the mountains, thinking they are firmly fixed, but they are travelling ˹just˺ like clouds. ˹That is˺ the design of Allah, Who has perfected everything. Surely He is All-Aware of what you do.
Whoever comes with a good deed will be rewarded with what is better, and they will be secure from the horror on that Day.
And whoever comes with an evil deed will be hurled face-first into the Fire. Are you rewarded except for what you used to do?"
Commentary:
Allah says our circumstances are part of a perfect Account, meaning there are always going to be corrupt, lawless, fat and disgusting people who try to get away with breaking laws and the rules, and there are very deluded persons who will help them do it. This will not change. What has to change is the amount of horror the rest experience at its pervasion. The entire planet is now pervaded by the malfeasance of the US Government and it is not too eager to change its spots.
Like mountains traveling through clouds, like spiritists seeking the wisdom of God, we must be and turn this challenge to God's Authority into an ancient legend. We must win this fight. As the Quran says, anyone on this planet who prays to a just God has a stake in bring the evil the Republicans have done to the people of Israel and those of Muhammad into the light so God's Angels can smite them.
Then as Muhammad and the angels agreed, all mankind must gather in Jerusalem in the Mosque to create the Masjid:
˹Watch for˺ the Day We will gather from every faith-community a group of those who denied Our revelations, and they will be driven in ranks."
Donald Trump is going to engage in ethic cleansing in Israel, it has already started. We know the terror tunnel network is his work, and as soon as he has control over the US Military, he plans to kill every Arab in Palestine. I have heard him say it. "That mosque is mine!" The only choice we have for repelling him is to help Israel constitute so life can be as Allah contended within the Book. Please follow the Neqman and make this a reality within the hour.

The Bookshop is the only building standing for miles. Burned piles of brick, rubble, and twisted girders meet Aziraphale’s view under a sullen, red-orange sky. He is already hurrying out of the Bookshop to where he knows he will find, can already feel the presence of,
“Crowley!”
The lean figure standing dressed in smoke and grime-darkened clothes seems chiseled now, all softness gone. Crowley turns his head from looking out on the wasteland that was London, was the whole world, and Aziraphale sees a desolate, haunted look shadows his eyes.
“Angel,” Crowley replies in leaden tones, and goes back to staring at the husk of the world.
“Crowley, it’s over! The Second Coming is over! We can be together now…” Aziraphale says excitedly.
“Oh. It’s over , alright. Your Second Coming saw to that !” the venom in Crowley’s voice is like nothing he’s heard before. The haunted eyes turned on Aziraphale are burning in the gaunt face.
Aziraphale tries to explain, “But we won! And the good people got their just rewards, it’s all sorted now. We don’t have to…”
“We? What we , Angel?” Crowley rounded on Aziraphale, fists clenched, jaw tight, voice low and cutting, “Where were you when the bombs fell? When the people cried out in terror and despair knowing there was no safe place to go?” Aziraphale hypnotized by the orange snake eyes can see the bombs and the flames reflected in them.
“Where were you when I dug through the rubble of the coffee shop and the record shop, the music shop, and the magic shop?” Crowley’s voice starting to rise, “Look what happened to your neighbors, Angel! People, families, you’ve known for generations! ”
“WHERE WERE YOU! when I found Nina and Maggie, burned unrecognizable from the bombs, their ragged lungs still drawing breath in desperate, wet, rattling gasps, unable to see or speak, but still screaming ?”
Crowley points an accusing finger at Aziraphale, voice hissing, “Where were you when I tried to lift them from the rubble and their burned flesh came away in my hands, Aziraphale!?”
Arms thrown wide, taking in the neighborhood, the city, the whole world, “WHERE WERE YOU WHEN MY MIRACLES COULDN’T PROTECT THEM, COULDN'T HEAL THEM AND ALL I COULD DO WAS GIVE THEM MERCIFUL DEATH!!?” Crowley’s jaw muscles tense and he swallows down bile, and now Aziraphale realizes what he has been smelling: the burned bodies and putrification of the dead.
Aziraphale, hands out placatingly, pleads, “But Crowley, that was just brief suffering. It all makes sense when you look at it sensibly! The good got eternal bliss in heaven, the bad died forever. Trust me, it’s sorted. Now, finally, there’s time for us ,” he’s begging now. Begging for understanding, for the easy acceptance they once shared with one another.
Crowley snarled at him, “I thought you were supposed to be the Guardian Angel! What have you been guarding? A tally sheet? How good was good enough, huh? 100% good, 90%? A breath over 50%? The few I could save, I brought to the Bookshop to shelter. I cared for them while the radiation poisoning killed them one, by one, by one. You cared for your precious poll numbers !” Crowley spat.
“But it was important to know whether Good or Evil triumphed in the end!” replies Aziraphale, stung.
“Good or Evil? What bloody difference does it make when THERE’S NOT A BLESSED LIVING THING LEFT ON THIS BLIGHTED PLANET!” Crowley staring fiercely into Aziraphale’s eyes sweeps an arm in a full arc behind him before letting it fall to his side.
Turning away he says, “I’m off. There’s no one left I can help or protect, what little good my protection ever did, but at least I tried.”
Aziraphale sees that he means it, means to leave, and never come back. Desperately, he grabs Crowley’s tattered sleeve, “Crowley, I love you! Stay with me!”
And cowers back from the look the demon levels on him now, “You’ve taken EVERYTHING I’VE EVER CARED ABOUT!” Crowley grips Aziraphale’s grasping arm painfully, “And if you think I’d EVER love one of the butchers that did this…” he wrenches his sleeve out of the angel’s grasp and shoves him away with both hands, to sprawl in the dust. “Then you’ve never known me.” Standing over Aziraphale, Crowley’s wings spring open and he leaps towards the dull reddish sky. But now Crowley’s wings are not merely black, they hold the cold blackness of the depths of space. He has become like Azrael, the angel of death. The last look he gives Aziraphale is through a face turned into a death’s mask and the clap of his wings brings the darkness of utter despair.
And in the darkness, Aziraphale doesn’t know, can’t remember, is this a nightmare or a memory?

Tyler was only slightly relieved by Brooke's immediate answer. He was sure she was going to tell him that she did consider leaving with Seth. It would have killed him and he would have self-destructed afterward, but at least she would have been honest. He can't decipher her feelings now. If she didn't want any part of what Seth was offering, then why didn't she tell him? Why did she say nothing happened when he asked? Only to turn around and tell him that Seth was there and still propositioning her. It made him feel like she was keeping secrets and he doesn't like that. He would rather her be brutally honest and straightforward even if it hurts him than beat around the bush.
"What do you mean you were wondering why guys only want you after they lose you?" Who was she talking about specifically? Him? He could fit into that category. In high school, they didn't label their relationship. They had boundaries but they never said they were boyfriend and girlfriend. Tyler didn't seem to push them across that line until after she ran back to Jake. "It sounds like you regret Seth not making more of an effort." Tyler wanted to calm her down and reassure her with words of flattery and adoration, but there's a part of him that's too upset by everything unraveling.
"How else do you want me to react to this? I had to know if you were having doubts about us. Because if you want to be with him then you shouldn't string me along." If she wanted him to be angry at Seth, he was. The old Tyler was still inside him. The guy who breaks bones and accepts the consequences hasn't reformed. Every muscle twitches and stirs with venomous rage. He just does a decent job at keeping it under the hood. However, there's a fire in his eyes. If he sees Seth in person, an animal will be unleashed.
"I'm not the only one here with trust issues." Tyler jerks the wheel to the far left and presses down on the gas, winging them back onto the empty road. The speedometer is in sync with his heartbeats. 80. 90. 99. "You told me you don't trust me. When I said, you know you can trust me, you replied, I do?" 103. 107. "When I came to see you at your house before we got back together, we fooled around and I left. Then I came back with a rose and you were in your bedroom getting fucked by Jake." It wasn't something to throw in her face but it did happen. How was he supposed to know it wouldn't happen again?
Not only had the car come to a complete top but, so had everything else. Thank God Brooke was wearing a seatbelt or she would’ve went flying. Nevertheless, her body jerked forward and she had to steady herself by holding her hands out against the dashboard.
She knew (or hoped) Tyler wouldn’t be happy about Seth showing up and cornering her. If he cared, he wouldn’t be. And while his reaction pacified her a little bit, it still seemed a bit off? He wasn’t as angry or jealous as she would’ve hoped. Which made her question whether his feelings for her were still real. “I wasn’t going to keep it from you.” She knows it might’ve seemed that way however, eventually she would’ve told him the truth. Which sure, could’ve been considered ‘keeping it from him’ but in her mind she was just trying to assess the situation and figure out when was the right time to bring it up. She figured maybe once they got back to her dorm and he was relaxed, she would ease him into the subject.
But now it didn’t seem like that plan was even going to happen. Because who knows where their mood would be by the time they reach her dorm.
What he says next, although diplomatic, surprises her but only because she’s expecting (and again hoping) for him to fly off the handle. Instead, he’s rationalizing. Which, she understands is something he does to cope. Unlike Jake, he doesn’t immediately jump to conclusions and accuse her of the worst — which would be cheating on him. It’s one of the things Brooke always loves most about him. He listens, he assesses, and he’s often mature about the way he handles things between them. Most of the time, anyway.
“No!” She interjects almost immediately after his questions have been asked. She doesn’t need time to think about it or scramble for explanations. A part of her is even a little hurt he feels the need to ask her that. Hence why she unbuckles her seatbelt and is preparing to get out of the car. “The whole time I was wondering why he was saying these things to me now when he could have said them to me then. I was wondering why guys only want me after they finally lose me. And I was wondering how his fiancé would feel if she knew he was still going around behind her back.” With Brooke’s hand on the door handle and her heart clenching painfully in her chest, she turns to Tyler with tears brimming her eyes. “I told him I was with you and I was happy and all I wanted was for him to be happy too. With someone else.”
Clearly, she wasn’t happy though. Because now she was wondering whether Tyler even loved or cared about her still at all. He didn’t seem that upset or bothered by what she’d told him. And that was alarming. Just as much as it was concerning. The old Brooke would’ve gotten out of the car by now and walked home. But this Brooke stayed. She let the hurt fester until she cracked and delivered him the full transparency he requested. “I just told you Seth cornered me at party we were both at together and wanted me to have sex with him in his car behind your back. And all you care about is whether the thought ever crossed my mind. As if I would ever do that to you.”
Maybe he didn’t realize that, he was her one exception. That she may have cheated on Jake with him and cheated on Romeo with Seth, too but she would never cheat on him. “I have never cheated on you, Tyler. Nor would I. Not even in my own head. I wouldn’t do that. The fact you even have to question that, really hurts.” So much so, she’s crying now and her face is becoming beet red as she angles it away from him. “Take me home.” To imply she means business, Brooke straps herself back in before she presses her body so far up against the passenger side door that it’s as far away from him as it can be. “NOW, Tyler.”

i think you can instantly tell how well characterized eddie + venom will be depending on how eddie's hair is drawn. the longer his hair, the more in character they are
#venom 2003 making him bald / have a shaven head or whatever is like#an instant visual metaphor for how badly this shit sucked.#brot reads marvel comics#dont get me wrong there are some janky early 90s comics where his hair is at the absolute longest#like down to his shoulders. and not even a mullet.#and he is characterized weirdly there too but by god its nowhere near as atrocious as it is when he has short hair#OK THS IS UNFAIR TO ASM DAYS. he has short hair there too and i consider that peak eddie characterization#i mean thats literally his original inception. you cant get more In Character than that#so i guess this rule only applies to things published after 1995. thats when the hair rule comes into play#anyone who draws him with short hair after 1995 i Do Not Trust
