Nobody 2 is in the works with Bob Odenkirk set to return at Universal Pictures and 87North.

Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes for Us) will direct from a script by Derek Kolstad (John Wick, Nobody), Aaron Rabin (Jack Ryan), Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem (Kate). Kelly McCormick and David Leitch are returning to produce through 87North’s first look deal with Universal, as are Odenkirk, Marc Provissiero through Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, and Braden Aftergood through Eighty Two Films.

Slated for release on August 15, 2025, the film will be overseen for Universal by Executive Vice President of Production Development Jay Polidoro and Director of Development Tony Ducret.

Ok, I'm back after 3 months to share again what I watched.

Film Name: Bullet Train (2022); Production Studios: SPE, Hill District Media, 87North, CTB Inc.; Director by: David Leitch; Screenwriter: Zak Olkewicz; Starring: Brad Pitt, Brian Tyree Henry, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Joey King, Andrew Koji; Genres: Action, Comedy, Thriller; Running Time: 2 hours 6 minutes;

"Bullet Train" is a 2022 action-comedy where five killers team up on a high-speed train in Japan, forced to work together to survive. The film offers an engaging plot, stylish cinematography and a talented cast, although some of the characters' actions may be predictable. For lovers of dynamic actions and interesting stories, this is a great choice.

My rating: 7/10

John Wick: Chaper 4 (dir. Chad Stahelski) x SXSW 2023.

What’s most remarkable about Chapter 4 is just how weary the title character is. He constantly looks tired, worn out, beat up, and just done with his constant suffering. This general feeling of weariness informs the extended fight scenes and pure exhaustion of the action spectacle [Keanu] Reeves and Stahelski put on screen. It’s unrelenting and punishing in its excessive entertainment.

イブの夜にプレゼントを配ってたサンタが偶然襲撃現場に居合わせて巻き込まれてしまうバイオレンス・アクション映画‼️

思った以上にマジカル&夢のある仕上りで驚きました🎄

某代表的Xmas映画を彷彿とさせる場面もあり、工夫に富んだサンタクロース殺法が愉快で楽しい映画です🎅

R15+な上、傭兵軍団に襲われるというシリアスな設定だし、暴力描写やブラックジョークが売りなので、もっと現実的でダーティな話なのかと思っていました💨

実際はめちゃくちゃファンタジックなストーリーで子供に夢を与えてくれそうです（流石に見せられませんけどね）😅

殺しはしっかりエグいです💧

サンタにまつわるある出来事や戦闘の描写が、MCUの某キャラを彷彿とさせると感じたのは僕だけではないはず⁉️

欲を言えば、一対多数の戦闘において1人で勝つための駆け引きや工夫の描写がもっと欲しかったです💧

上手く行きすぎ感は強いのですが、まあこういう映画なのでと思って楽しめます👍

Violent Night

What I really like about VIOLENT NIGHT is that it goes all the way with both sides of its DIE-HARD-but-with-the-real-Santa-Claus premise. It tries to be both a bloody R-rated action movie with seasonal gimmicks and a heartwarming holiday fantasy.

Review: Bullet Train

Ever since I saw the trailer to this movie I was instantly hooked...then I decided not to watch it until three months later, but let's ignore that fact! Point is I finally watched it and I have a lot to say!

This movie is absolutely incredible! Easily one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It's incredibly inventive, funny, full of action, and never once did I feel it was getting boring. And that's saying something since the entire movie takes place on a train. I really admire a movie that can take place in a single setting and continue to be engaging.

The movie's character is Ladybug, played by Brad Pitt, who's tasked with simply getting a briefcase and then getting off the train at the next stop. Simple as that, but obviously it can't be that easy. Ladybug doesn't get all the screen time, we also have Lemon and Tangerine, the two owners of the briefcase.

Lemon and Tangerine are tasked by The White Death to escort his son and the briefcase to Kyoto. We then have characters like the Prince and the Father, also known as Yuichi. The Prince is the daughter of The White Death and is pushed Yuichi's son off of a building just to get him onto the train to frame him as an assassin so she can kill her dad.

Basically, the plot is kind of complex just trying to explain in text, but it makes a lot of sense when watching it. In short, everyone is connected to everyone else and they were all hired by The White Death in hopes they would all kill each other.

I know I went on a bit of a ramble, but I got it out of my system. The actual movie though was incredible. As I mentioned above it takes place entirely on a train. I genuinely felt that this was incredibly original from most everything I've seen recently. A lot of movies have been feeling really stale lately and this honestly felt new.

That's not to say it was all good though. While I did genuinely enjoy all of the movie, not a single thing was boring, I did feel like there was a ton of exposition. Almost all of the characters had some sort of backstory explaining how they got to the train, or where they were during a certain part in the story. Again, these parts of the movie were entertaining, especially Lemon and Tangerine's, but I just felt it odd that every character needed a backstory.

With all that being said though, this honestly was an almost perfect movie. One I would go back and watch with friends at almost any time. This is one of those movies you could sit down and watch on repeat and just have fun with it. None of the characters really take themselves seriously and it's just fun.

It's a definite must watch.

The Fall Guy (dir. David Leitch) x SXSW 2024.

[It] does indeed deliver on its thrilling action romance spectacle enhanced by Gosling's blistering commitment to physical humour. However, when that action gets away from the central romance and meta jokes about actors and Hollywood productions, things fall apart quickly despite so much stylish fun as an otherwise enjoyable ride.

Premiered at the 2024 South by Southwest Film & TV Festival (Austin, Texas) as part of the Headliners section.
