I don't care how non family related Leo and Karai are in future versions of TMNT or in fellow fans' own takes on TMNT where they say they're not related at all in their versions.

When there's been TWO versions of Karai being Leo's relative in the span of a decade, it makes shipping him with her in other versions very VERY weird and uncomfortable when that thought is in the back of your head.

TMNT 2012 and Rottmnt has officially burned the bridge of the Leo x Karai concept.

Btw, still on that dance episode of Frasier, snickering because I went "I find it hard to believe that Niles wouldn't know how to dance at least a waltz. What did they do at his own wedding, otherwise? Surely, even if Maris never dances, you are expected to dance with other people during the evening at these society ballrooms" and then I suddenly remembered that my only frame of reference for this is... Austen's novels and that I definitely have absolutely no idea what was or wasn't done at those shindigs in the late 80s and 90s.

no but actually the 1987 saturday morning adventures segment of the anniversary comic is kinda interesting

in the show, there’s several instances that hint that the turtles hate being separated, particularly leonardo.

especially after season 4’s splinter vanishes

in the comic, leonardo expresses that he thinks they’ll always be heroes. he’s always been passionate about doing the right thing, and he wants to share that with his team. his brothers.

raphael is the one who expresses distaste for doing hero work forever. he makes a quip about wanting to be watched by adoring fans doing something that doesn’t really matter.

in the show, he’s typically the weakest fighter and often tries out different hobbies to find something that makes him special to the team. he’s low key jealous of his brothers i think, especially leonardo and donatello.

his want to be loved is also notable. he’s kinda weird about the attention being on him. sometimes he feels awkward when he doesn’t expect it, sometimes he feels uncomfortable and prefers to insult the person praising him, and sometimes he absolutely loves the attention. i haven’t found a pattern to this yet, but i feel it’s worth mentioning anyway.

it’s directly tied to his feelings about humans and being mutant and whether or not he’s hated by society.

but yeah i think the main reason he dislikes the idea of fighting crime forever is because he doesn’t think he gets any appreciation for it. like when he did that comedy act, he got laughs and applause and he was glowing because of it. when red sky came around, he was so angry that things were being turned against him unfairly that he was willing to end things entirely.

meanwhile donatello and michelangelo don’t seem to mind staying crime fighters, as long as they get to explore other things as well. science and opening a pizza restaurant.

also there’s an episode in the series, not long after splinter vanishes, where they get to see parts of their future. and they’re retired but still together. and humanity loves them. who knows what they got up to besides crime fighting but it’s a happy ending i think.

i understand this is like. objectively a wild thing to bitch about when yr average woman wants to lose weight but it is really so fucking bizarre and disheartening to be asked "how are you so skinny how do you do it" by women who are really honestly beautiful and healthy and i am genuinely so jealous of their bodies' ability to maintain some semblance of body fat. i have to say "i wish i weighed more" and they look at me like i'm crazy and then i have to say "every time i manage to gain 5-10lbs i inexplicably get really sick and lose all the weight i gained and it's a vicious cycle of never really feeling healthy" and that's not the answer they want to hear and they still don't understand why i want to gain weight and like. hhhh. makes me sad. i love you you're so pretty and i am chronically ill

I was thinking in my AU I'd want Mikey's psychic powers to become a major thing in season 1, not be on the backburner for too long.

And maybe it would be Leo getting hurt that's where they come up. And maybe that's how they find Leo (he hasn't been thrown through a window, exactly, and certainly not through a window at them, he's been left in the cold to die). So then Mikey's dealing with "if I could find him once I was looking, why didn't I know he was in danger?" and "why can't I wake him up? shouldn't that be something mind powers can do?" during the farmhouse arc.

(I thought vaguely about including Venus at one point despite not having watched TNM, but I think she actually shades over too far into what I want to do with Mikey. Since I want his powers to be a real, notable thing, he's the one who would get character beats of magic/science rivalry with Donatello and feeling like he sees the world a different way from his brothers.)

Hey all my fellow POTS people and dysautonomia denizens, I have some questions for you! - Do you ever have narrow pulse pressure? (when the top number minus the bottom number of your blood pressure is less than 1/4th of the top number) - If yes, does it usually happen when you are standing or when you are sitting? - If you have any advice on how to feel better when you have narrow pulse pressure I am absolutely looking for advice. Like. Hydrate and salt and sit down, but any more specific advice? - Follow up: if you have a day with very narrow pulse pressure, do you ever feel headachey and bad afterward even when your blood pressure evens out?
