Baking therapy on a budget Ft. Genshin characters-Qiqi: Coconut Blackberry Pie

Hello, every birdy. Today we are going to be making yet another pie. But this one is a bit different, in regards to the pie crust. For all of those who know, and who have been following me for a while, you know that I have a favorite pie crust. A Pie crust that my mom taught me when I was younger, and the only pie crust I like making: the Betty Crocker Pie Crust. But today I wanted to change it up a bit and find a coconut oil pie crust. 

Ok, I want to make this pie because of one little zombie child named Qiqi (Chi-Chi) and this girl does not want to come home at all. It makes me sad. She is the only original standard banner character that I do not have. My sister got her on her first day of playing, and I have been playing for a year and haven’t gotten her yet. Hopefully, I will get her soon!

Both recipes will be down in the description below. Feel free to check them out. 

First things first, we are going to be making the pie crust. 

You will need:

Flour

Salt

Granulated sugar

Coconut oil 

Ice water

It is very similar to that of a normal pie crust. However, there is one crucial thing that you need to do. USE A FOOD PROCESSOR. If you don’t, it will look A LOT bigger than a normal pie crust, and you will have chunks of coconut oil in them. 

You are going to add the flour, salt, and sugar, if you desire, to the food processor and blend everything together until it is just mixed. 

Next, you are going to add the coconut oil, and while the food processor is on start adding in the tablespoons of ice water. Until a dough is formed. The amount of water varies. 

Dump the dough onto a flour surface and use hands to form into a ball. Cut the ball in half and you can use it right away, or you can place it in the fridge or freezer until you have your filling together.

For the pie filling you will need:

Sugar 

Flour

Cinnamon, if desired

Blackberries 

Lemon juice 

Butter, if desired

In a large bowl, you are going to mix together the sugar, half a cup of flour, and the cinnamon if you want it. Stir in the blackberries. Set it aside while you roll out the pie crust. 

I didn’t use a food processor for the pie crust, so when I was rolling it out, it was a little bit thicker than the normal pie crust. And it had chunks of coconut oil in it. I honestly thought that it was going to be a gross pie, because of all of the oil. 

Always remember to place pies on a cookie sheet before putting them in the oven. That way you won’t have to clean up your oven afterward. You just have to clean a cookie sheet. 

Bake the pie for about 35 to 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the juice starts to bubble. Also, don’t be afraid, your pie will start making noise. 

I forgot to take a picture of this pie, and I am kinda sad about it because it was kinda funny. It looked like I put a large piece of swiss cheese on top of the pie. And honestly, the taste was not that bad. It definitely tasted like a blackberry coconut pie. Which was good.

The fact that I've gotten two event 5-stars on the exact same pity count two banners in a row is insane

When Robin's banner was up, I got her at 40 pity, insane luck that I pinned on getting bad luck on Arlecchino's banner a few weeks prior, I think the universe balances stuff like that out

But now, on Fu Xuan's banner, I also got her at exactly 40 pity again. I have nothing to blame the insane luck on so I don't have a little ramble here for that

It's that specific number that interests me, though

I'm not really superstitious, but even though my brain is telling me that it's just a coincidence, my heart is telling me there's some sort of pre-destined something as a reason for the number specifically being 40, as 4 is my favorite number

Now, I can't tell you why it's 4. It kind of just happened

It's stuck with me wherever I go. For example, I reblog posts until the final number is either 4, 8, or 0. 4 because it's well, 4. 8 because 4 + 4 = 8 and all that. And 0 is mostly because it's a nice, perfectly round number, makes my eyes happy, I just like circles

Those specific numbers and how they also apply to this weird pattern is another thing

Because I lost my 50/50 for Fu Xuan initially, at 20 pity, to Himeko, who is one of the standard 5-stars I've wanted since the beginning of the game. Sort of a half win for me, I get a character I wanted, but it wasn't the same queen I was shooting for.

And back to Arlecchino's banner. I also lost the 50/50 on her banner. Also at 20 pity. Also, to a standard 5 star who I've wanted since I've started the game, Qiqi.

Now, as stated before, I had bad luck on the banner, so obviously Arlecchino wasn't the start of the 40 pity trend

But you know what number also related to 4 the pity was at when she showed up?

8. 80 pity.

80, double 40. A dps who can finally get me through the spiral abyss THANK GOODNESS, a double win.

I'm a little worried this will cause 4 to seep into my daily life more via superstition. As stated before, with the reblog numbers, I can get a bit weird with it and a new sort-of-obsession probably isn't good

But it's an interesting pattern is it not?

I'm interested if it will continue with Sigewinne's banner as I will be pulling for her soon. I hope she continues the 40 pattern instead of establishing Genshin as the 8 game and HSR as the 4 game

The world is just chock-full of coincidences

Or purposeful patterns depending on how you se it

an update on Neuvillette:

i had saved 200 wishes with literally 5 pity

lost the 50/50 to Qiqi at 80 pity (nearly cried)

i had 125 wishes left

it took me another 78 wishes to get him

the 47 remaining wishes were spent on the weapon banner

i got Staff of Homa in 27 pulls

then i spent the other 20 and clearly didn't get his weapon

i went back to grinding for primos

it took me 45 more pulls to get his weapon

i cannot believe i actually spent 245 wishes just on this man. what kind of spell did he put on me

Im really happy hes so handsome and heals soo much and i also managed to get some Kaveh hehe

to be honest my pulls were preeetty unlucky, i did end up losing the 50/50 BUT!!! i got Qiqi!! which i am delighted by because i didn't have her and it is SO on theme for her to come home on Baizhu's banner!!!

i did have to dip below 100k primos so my next goal is to get back up there!! not sure who i'll pull for next, although if the Harbingers are released i am ABSOLUTELY going for some of them

Got Kirei in 6 tickets, rainbow sparkles and everything ☺️ wahoo! Going into the new year with a decent stock of quartz for the first time in a while. Gonna try and make a pull schedule and stick to it this year.

I also nabbed Citlali in gi! And it was also really good. I was at 80 pity so. One ten pull was gonna do. Very first thing that came out was Qiqi and I was crying and wailing but a few weapons later in the very same pull I got Citlali which was just. such a relief 😭 I've got 40k primos ready for Sheznaya now :)

P.s. I used to play genshint, but I stopped cause I somehow never beat 50/50. like EVER and I have C5 Qiqi and C3 Diluc [I love him tho] as evidence of my failed husband pulling... I also have shit artifact luck... My last straw was when Tighnari came home instead of Alhaitham... And THE THING WAS when I pulled for Tighnari before, I got Qiqi...

And yes that's the story of how I quit Genshin!! [Although I'm tempted to go back aftet seeing Wrio..]

the funny part is that i originally started playing genshin FOR qiqi. and then didn't get her for over a year bc i've never gotten a 5* at less than 80 pity, never lost a 50/50, and only gotten one character off the standard banner (and it was mona :/ noah fence girlie but i've already put EVERYTHING into barbara + have ayato n e ways. i don't need any more hydro users). and now it's not like i'll ever use a cryo character that ISN'T kaeya bc he's literally the entire reason i picked genshin back up after leaving for a few months. and i was actually counting on losing the 50/50 too but like. to diluc. who i've also been waiting a full year for. or maybe even tighnari bc i <3 pako a lot. but no. fucking qiqi came home at last. son of a bitch.

I look upon my few 5 stars and forget she's even among them

However I only use like 4 character in-game and never switch them out, they're my main fighting team, my exploration team, all of it, so I often forget I have a lot of character—

Idk if you want a Qiqi but if you do I'm wishing you luck on your Qiqi quest, may you gain as many Qiqis as all the people who really hate getting Qiqis, and if you don't want Qiqis may you remain forever zombie-childless
