Amelia was about 10 month old when Y/N was finally fully back to consulting, and quickly after that she was already needed by NCIS. Gibbs and the team had been working a tough case. They were in need of a translator with some agent and profiling skills, in other words, they needed Y/N.

“Hey Gibbs,” Leon called as he walked down the steps toward the team “your girl back in action?” He asked with a smirk.

“Yup” Gibbs answered back as he took a swig of his coffee.

“Call her” Vance said as he walked away.

Gibbs nodded, trying to school he happiness to have her back with them.

“I’ve been wondering where Y/N’s been, she alright?” McGee asked.

“It’s been about 9 months boss, you got something to tell us?” Tony joked and Gibbs rolled his eyes.

“Check your math DiNozzo, and she’s fine.” Gibbs answered. He held back the laugh at how true Tony’s question was as he stepped away to call Y/N.

“Y/L/N” Y/N answered.

“Hey,” Gibbs said softly. “How are my girls?” He asked. His heart had clenched the first time he called them that, thinking of his original girls, but he couldn’t help but love the smile Y/N gave him after hearing it.

“We’re good! I swear she’s so close to walking J! I know she probably won’t for another month or so but she won’t stop moving. Mostly dancing, she’s a dancing machine.”

Gibbs couldn’t help but smile and he knew his team noticed. He was far enough away that they couldn’t hear him, but they could see him.

“She gets that from you.” He chuckled

“Oh yeah I’ve got dance moves!” She joked. “You calling for my assistance Agent Gibbs?”

“I” Gibbs began to speak before Amelia began squealing from hearing his voice.

“Your daughter wants to say hi!” She held the phone to Amelia and she squealed something that sounded similar to hi.

“Hi baby! I love you” he said and chuckled at her little baby giggle.

“Sorry you were saying?” Y/N laughed

“You guys are lucky you’re cute! I’ve got a case.” He laughed softly.

“Oops say sorry Poppa” she said and Amelia squealed again.

“Sorry, so do you really need me?” She asked and Gibbs laughed.

“Always, but yeah. You feeling up to a case?” He asked.

“Heck yeah! I’m gonna miss this girl though” she said, loudly kissing Amelia’s cheek.

“Give her one for me too, and tell Andi thanks”

“I will” she kissed Amelia again and said “we love you!” Amelia cooed in agreement.

“I love you girls.” He said softly. “See you soon Y/N/N”

“Be safe J, see you soon.”

Gibbs hung up and put his boss face back on, ignoring the looks from his team. He’d been smiling more ever since he was with Y/N, but he had usually hid it more than this. They’d find out soon enough, he thought to himself.

Y/N dropped Amelia off with Andi and Riley (and Andi’s husband Josh) and headed to NCIS.

She walked in to NCIS while the team was going over Their latest briefing. By the time gibbs called y/n they had already cleared the crime scene and started working.

She snuck in and stood next to Gibbs who smirked at her and waited for the rest of the team to notice.

“Gibbs I-“ ziva started before uncharacteristically shrieking and hugging Y/N. “You’re back!”

“I am! Hey guys. I heard most of that briefing so just fill me in on the way to talk to the victims parents?” Y/N asked and Gibbs nodded and hid a smirk while Tony and McGee hugged her.

“Since I know it’s killing them not to ask... go ahead tell them before we go.” Gibbs said.

“But Abby” she said and Gibbs pointed behind her as a squealing Abby ran in followed by ducky and jimmy.

“Wow, we have changed you” she said low enough for only Gibbs to hear. He shook his head and gave her the ‘we’ll go ahead’ look.

“Soooo I know I’ve been MIA and you all want to know why and Gibbs isn’t a sharer.”

“We do have a case Y/N.” Gibbs said in mix irratation.

Y/N rolled her eyes and turned her phone around to show the team a picture of them with Amelia.

“This is why” she said and the team looked dumb founded.

“I was right?!?” Tony yelled, earning him a Gibbs slap.

“I’m guessing you weren’t.” Y/N laughed. “Amelia is my brother Ryan’s daughter. I was given custody 8 months ago, after his death and officially adopted her a month later. So officially this is our daughter, Amelia y/f/n y/l/n Gibbs. They had all the legal paper work together for her name change and Gibbs half of the adoption, but the appointment wasn’t until after her birthday. Y/N refused to wait to refer to her as anything else though.

They were met with gasps and oooh and ahhhs and requests to meet her. They told everyone they planned a big meet on her first birthday. That way everyone could gather and have time to meet her properly.

“So you have a new daughter?” Ducky asked as Y/N went with Ziva to talk to the family.

“I do” he smiled

“Officially? I mean Y/N said her name was gibbs”

“Not legal yet but it’s been official to me since I met her.” Gibbs said and Ducky nodded.

“And Y/N? Will she be a Gibbs too?”

Gibbs nodded “hope so”

Ducky smiled and walked away. He knew his friend said he’d never marry again, but that was befor Y/N.

Y/N was do doubt being grilled by Ziva in the car and he knew Abby would question him when he went down in a minute, but he had to admit, his girls were his favorite topic, even if he was a private man.

Y/N had helped interview the families and watch a few interrogations. Then she gave her input said goodbye, heading to pick up Amelia.

They were sitting at home with her after eating with Andi’s family when Amelia started crying. She wouldn’t stop until Y/N played a video she had taken about a month ago of Gibbs rocking her to sleep and singing her favorite lullabies.

She couldn’t help but text Gibbs a quick ‘your daughter misses her favorite parent, and I miss my man! We love you.’

She figured he must be having a rough night with the case when he actually answered her text.

‘Needed that. Love ya too’

She knew the case was rough and involved a family. Those always hit him the hardest. So she called in a favor that she knew would help both her favorite people.

After 2 rings Abby picked up.

“Hiii beautiful awww is that the lil Gibbs I hear in the background?”

“Yup she’s disgruntled that I stopped playing a video of Gibbs to use my phone for it’s intended purpose.”

“Awww what do you need dumpling?”

“Can you do me a big favor?” Y/N asked.

“Ofcourse”

“Can you answer a video call and then give Gibbs your phone? Make sure the team isn’t there and promise not to mock him?”

“Yes to all of the above. You okay?”

“Yeah can tell the case is rough and he loves being here to say good night to Amelia... thought this could help.”

“Oh you’re so sweet!” Abby gushes, and laughed as she heard Amelia stop crying to squeal along with her.

“Just don’t go telling people gibbs has a soft side okay?” Y/N joked.

“Fineee okay go ahead and video call me and I’ll take it up.”

Abby walked up to a grumpy Gibbs, hunched over a case file, going over whiteness statements AGAIN.

“Gibbs there’s a call for you” she said going to hand him her phone.”

“Abbs I’m busy”

“Oh come on, answer the phone Gunny.” Y/N’s voice rang from the phone and he looked up to see his girls on the screen. Amelia was all ready for bed and y/n was in her ‘after work’ clothes (his sweatshirt and a pair of leggings) snuggled up with her in the rocking chair in her room.

“Hey you two! Everything okay?”

“Yup, just called in a favor from Abby! Now go to your ‘office’ and promise Abbs we’ll have her phone back soon.”

Gibbs looks at Abby who nodded with a smile before turning to go back to her lb. Gibbs quickly went to the elevator and flipped the switch.

“What do I owe this surprise to? Hi baby girl” he cooed the last part at Amelia who smiled wide at her dad.

“Well I know this case sucks so I wanted you to be able to partake in your favorite thing! Plus our girl learned something new today.”

“Oh yeah? what’d you learn princess”

Y/n turned to Amelia and said “meals, who is that” pointing at the Gibbs on the screen

“Puh-puh-puh-puh!” She said clapping and blowing kisses to Gibbs, who had tears in his eyes. He looked at y/n who was full blown crying.

“Yeah baby, I’m Poppa! Good job meali! I love you sweet girl!”

She shrieked and y/n smiled at him “you only won by a few minutes” she said and laughed at Gibbs confused look. “Mealies’ who am I? She asked sweetly “muhmuhmuh!!!” Amelia yelled and Gibbs laughed.

“Wish I was there!” He said, sounding him a little sad.

“I wasn’t even there, this little sneak was asking Andi for us all afternoon!”

They laughed and did their nighttime routine with Gibbs even singing her a hushed lullaby through the camera.

“Thank you Y/N I love you”

“I love you! We both do. Now go catch this guy and come home to us.”

She said and he hung up to do just that.

Later that night (closer to earlier the next morning) he came home after wrapping the case to find his girls both sound asleep in Y/N and his bed. He took a minute to just look at them, before changing and curling up beside them.

Y/N woke a bit and smiled when she saw Gibbs settling in on the other side of Amelia.

“You catch ‘im” she mumbled, barely awake. “Mhm” Gibbs assured, tucking them both under his arm and getting comfortable.

“Go back to sleep baby, I love you” he said, carefully leaning over their daughter to gently kiss her, he huffed a laugh when she smiled and mumbled “okay love you” before falling back to sleep with his arm draped over both her and Amelia.

as a request, what about Rise! Donnie talking to Bayverse Donnie about glasses? idk what headcannon you have or just enjoy for why Rise! Donnie doesn't wear glasses anymore, but I think the interaction could be interesting no matter what??

Donatello made a vague motion that Donnie took as an ‘ask away’ motion.

“Ah— okay— uh— what— well for starters how on earth did you get contacts?”

“April and I have the same eye difficulties, so she provides me and Leonardo with the contacts on a monthly basis and gives us her old glasses every time she upgrades.”

“Wait— your April wears glasses? And your Leo?”

“Affirmative.” Donatello’s spider claw reached into his battle shell and pulled out two Dr.Pepper’s, opening both and offering one to Mikey. Mikey made a noise not unlike an excited toddler as he grabbed the beverage and slurped it down happily.

“Well— how did you meet your April?”

“It was a dark and stormy autumn night, thunder echoing down the alleyways just l ike the barking beasts that pursued me through the shadows!” Donatello switched the lights off and flicked on a flashlight to illuminate his features in shadowed detail. “There must have been eight, nine of them on my shell, all trying to take me down. But not I! Son of Splinter! There was a battle fought— turtle on beast— until they were fleeing back down the alley with their tails tucked between their legs.”

Donatello turned off the flashlight as the story ended abruptly, letting the darkness linger a moment before flicking the lights back on and piping rather cheerfully.

“Then April found me and we’ve been best friends ever since, the end.”

Mikey dropped his can in favor of clapping excitedly and Donnie gave a golf-clap out of politeness.

“What about you?” Donatello prompted.

“Dude, our April was totally the Hogoshaaaaaa.”

Donnie opened his mouth to explain further, but Donatello didn't need it. “In which way?”

Mikey simply blinked.

“Hogosha can mean guardian, protector, patron, parent, watcher— I need context.”

“Oh then the first two.” Mikey nodded, “Can I have another Dr.Pepper?”

“Oh yeah fo sho.” Donatello provided another can. “Hey, you should totally make some of those tattoo designs for me and my brothers! My Mikey’s art is very ~bright and happy sunshines~ but the simplistic design is sooooo awesome! Maybe like an Omou for me, Oni for Raph—“

“How often do you get the urge to bite?”

The enjoyment immediately drained from Donatello’s face.

“I mean, softshell’s are known for having a pretty nasty attitude and tend to bite a lot. They’re not really social creatures.” Donnie explained further.

“Don’t you think I would be aware of such things because I am one?” Donatello almost growled.

Donatello’s irritation came to Donnie’s joy. “Oh! There’s that softshell agitation!”

“IT’S NOT—” Donatello started to hiss, then forced himself back down.

“Sorry.” Donnie threw his hands up in surrender.

Donatello tried not to care. “Maybe Ongaku for Leon—“

“Do you like to bury yourself?”

Donatello flinched, and looked slowly back over at Donnie with rage bubbling in his mind.

“What’s your preferred texture? Do you prefer mud or sand?”

“I prefer your head on a pike.” Donatello muttered too low for Donnie to hear but enough for Mikey to choke on his soda.

“What was that?” Donnie tilted his head.

“Nothing.” Donatello huffed, fun thoughts of tattoos completely gone from his mind. “Have you found Leon and Angelo yet? I don’t trust those two idiots to keep out of trouble for very long.”

“Yeah— I’m uh— working on it.” Donnie quickly brushed past the answer to try and ask his final question, “What does it feel like when something presses against your shell? Or bends the bridge?”

Donatello dropped his half-full can of soda to the floor. Before either Donnie could say a thing, Mikey got between the both of them.

“Okay brain-boy, slow it down a little!” He put his finger up to Donnie and tisked his tongue, “Don’t be too hard on yourself!”

“Ha.” Donatello’s face was blank, any scrap of emotion once in it replaced with sheer, aggravated boredom.

The tension in the air was so thick it could be cut with a knife. But instead of a knife, it was cut by a short alarm.

“Ah— um.” Donnie cleared his throat, “Uh. The tracker is ready so… I… I should…” Donnie didn't finish the statement before sulking out of the kitchen with his head low.

“How’d it go?” Leo immediately regretted his words, but it was too late.

Donnie plopped himself down in the swivel chair and started to jump between the different signatures. Blue for Leo, red for Raph, purple for himself, and orange for Mikey— all, of course, in the lair. A white mark for Splinter. Black for all unknown signatures.

“Okay, so… seven down here, like expected… seems like Bebop and Rocksteady are still in place…” He jumped to the next unknown signature. “There! This one is alone— but not moving…”

“Are they…?” Leo started slowly.

“No— their vitals are stable, they’re just hiding.” He jumped to the next signature, “Here—these two are together! And on the move… that’s not good.”

“What’s not good?”

“Well, they’re on— or, above— Santon Street— that’s only two blocks from April’s apartment… they seem to be heading that direction.”

“Then so are we.” Leo immediately strutted off toward the weapons keep.

“Wait— now? But— it’s day!”

“This is a special case. Special case.” He drew his katana from their shelf, “Special circumstance…”

Blind Shield Nuzlocke Notes 9

-After feeding him an ungodly amount of curry, Snowball evolved into a Frosmoth, boing HV the Toxtricity, Freight the Coalossal, Riot the Falinks, Echo the Obstagoon, and Nosferatu the Dreadnaw on my League team

-Side note, while I was grinding Snowball up to level fifty I swapped my main team for the backups so they wouldn’t get over leveled. Loraine evolves into a Centiscortch and Lord Tophat evolved into a Weezing

-Second side note, I just realized I accidentally used the letter L twice, ruining my naming convention

-On to Wyndon, which is based of one of the largest cities in Europe (the biggest?) and is so big it has a monorail to get around

-Oh god, there’s a guy offering a trade for a duraldon in return for Snowball. I am tempted, but no

-“Prepare to see all the forms of rotom” where’s fridge and fan you liar

-Idea: make a ground type bike rotom catchable next gen

-So an Alcremie almost one shorted Snowball but he held on because he has high affection. Thank god for curry

-“How many companies does Chairman Rose own?” He’s so obviously evil

-Screw What I said about Chirchester, THIS is a fancy hotel

-Ah man, no monorail animation?

-I gotta say, Windon is a bit of a disappointment. It looks amazing, but there isn’t a lot to do, especially when compared to Lumiose or Castelia. I can’t even ride the London Eye!

-“I feel like Challenger Blinkin has a balanced team, but he doesn’t have any way to decisively win” say that to my face bitch

-Hop and Marnie are at the stadium, bet I’ll face them and Bede in the championship

Team going in to the challengers cup, all level 55:

-Freight the Coalossal, caught in Galar Mine. Holding the rocky helmet. Knows Rock Slide, Heat Crash, Bulldoze, and Tar Shot

-Riot the Falinks, caught on South Route 8. Holding the Muscle Band. Knows Brick Break, First Impression, Close Combat, and No Retreat

-Nosferatu the Dreadnaw, caught in Giant’s Cap. Holds the Assault Vest. Knows Liquidation, Rock Slide, Crunch, and Ice Fang

-Echo the Obstagoon, caught on Route 3. Holds the leftovers. Knows Night Slash, Obstruct, Take Down, and Brick Break

-High Voltage the Toxtricity. Gifted on Route 5. Holds the Chiice Scarf. Knows Overdrive, Poison Jab, Boomburst, and Toxic

-Snowball the Frosmoth. Caught on North Route 8. Holds the Shell Bell. Knows Bug Buzz, Aurora Beam, Blizzard, and Quiver Dance

-Only four trainers competed the gym challenge. How interesting considering I have three rivals

-Wait, that means I won’t fight one

-Leading with Snowball because I have a feeling Marnie or Bede will be the first opponent

-And it’s Marnie, not surprising. I assume Hop will be next

-I just got quiver dance literally a minute before this battle (rare candies) and its perfect to take out Marnies dark team

-Also no healing or switch mode I’m deciding

Marnie

-First up is Liepard, predicting a fake out and going for quiver dance

-It used Torment. Gg, Marnie

-Next up is scrafty, dynamaxing to make sure aurora beam takes it out

-Marnie sent out Toxicroak, I did the same thing. should be able to take out all of the troublesome Pokémon before dm runs out

-Out goes her signature, more people, who goes down in one hit

-Marnie sent out grimsnarl as my dm ran out, going for another bug buzz

-And she gyantamaxed and almost killed me with snooze. But I lived

-Full sweep by the new guy

Hop

-And Hop is my opponent in the final. Am I the only competent trainer is this country?

-Predicting Corviknight as his lead, so HV is mine

-I honestly want to lose someone, just because Hop deserves a win

-Oh, he started with Dubwool

-Overdrive, cotton guard, full restore overdrive, overdrive, dubwool dead

-Hop switched to Snorlax. Riot would be better, but I’ll stick with the overdrive strat

-Oh shit almost killed me with high horsepower Riot it is

-And a brick break takes it out

-I think I’m a bit over leveled

-Hop sent out Corviknight, switched to freight, tanked a scary face

-Dynamaxed, took it out with heat crash after tanking a steal wing

-Pincuring barely survived a bulldoze. I took it out afterward, but I won’t have dynamax to take on Rillaboom

-Big monkey used mass quake, it almost killed freight, and somehow took no damage from heat crash

-Switching to Echo to stall the dynamax with obstruct

-Oh dynamax bypasses protect that’s fair

-I’m pretty sure it’s psychic, but I don’t know for sure so I’m cautious on switching to Echo

-Good News: rapidash is dead. Bad news: my dark type only has 21 hit points

-Switching off Set makes the same so much more difficult I should have done this from the start

-Bede switched to hatterene and gygantamaxed

-Okay, Nosferatu’s almost dead, back to Echo

-Switching to stall out dynamax is such a bullshit strategy

-Switching to Freight because she’s my only Pokémon who isn’t poison type or almost dead

-Took next to no damage, now for a max flare to end this

-GG, Bede. I know this is faint praise but that was the toughest rival battle in the game

-Okay, now for the real leaders

-I know I’m not fighting Raihan or Milo cause they’re fighting each other, so I have to worry about Water/Fire/Ghost/Ice/Dark for my first match. Nosferatu is the best for that lineup so he’s leading

-Okay, it’s Nessa. Not great, but I was tempted to go with freight instead of Nosferatu so it could be worse

Nessa

-First is Golispod. Eat rock slide

-It emergency exited to baraskewda, Switching to HV

-OH GOD DRILL RUN NEW PLAN RIOT I GUESS

-You know what? Not saving the dm. Riot flutterbied barraskewda to death

-Oh no, pelliper. Flying types are bad for riot. B: Drizzle

-It tanked a Max knuckle and used tailwind I’m fucked

-Switching back to Nosferatu. Took out pelliper but took a ton of damage. I’d switch, but the next Pokémon is a pelliper and I’m not a coward

-It almost killed by with waterfall but it’s dead now

-That leaves golispod and gm Dreadnaw. I’m going back to riot

-Killed golispod with first impression because irony

-Riots almost dead, but a close combat brought it low. Switching to Echo

-A powerful offensive move that lays stealth rock that’s broken.

-Onstruct to tank, then kill it with night slash

-OH GOD IT OUTSPED ME AND KILLED ECHO WITH LIQUIDATION

-HV barely survived the stealth rock, but Echo can Rest In Peace now

-Accidentally clicked away from the tournament screen, only saw that Piers went on. Going in pretty blind

-Replacing Echo with Warrior the grapploct. I know it’s doubling up on fighting, but it’s the only box Pokémon up to snuff

-Used some tms, current moveset Waterfall, Superpower, Brick Break, Dig

-You know, this tragedy would have been averted if I allowed healing

-Okay, making me fight the Ghost leader right after my Obstagoon dies is a dick move, game

-Is this a horrible set of working conditions destroying the games industry? CAUSE ITS CRUNCH TIME

alright got home

thoughts on the trailer:

1.) new mons i actually love p much all of em, even if it’s just like, 4 new ones shown

2.) im wondering if that train seen goes all over the region?? but the region still looks full of life, at least in the cities

3.) i see they’re still removing HMs or the need for them as field moves, since that new bird mon serves as Fly. but it doesn’t look like it’ll be the same way gen 7 did it [which is good, it makes ride mons a gen 7 thing which helps w identity if u get what i mean]

4.) controllable cAMERA??? even if it’s just for a certain space, still, this is like, “holy shit we can move diagonally now” kind of shit. this might get this a lot tho but it feels very “open world” for pokemon, i guess id refer to this as the botw effect as its success wouldn’t make other games moving towards that open world experience a surprise. i do like this feature, even if it’s just for the “wild area”, that’s good! it means im actually hopeful for a full or mostly open world pokemon game.

this is a crazy step away from how linear gen 7′s map was [or was made to be w story progression]. im hoping it doesn’t get limited w hand holding!

5.) first impression for dynamax?? uhh, i feel like pokemon doesn’t need to keep adding all these weird “woah super powerful now!!” features.

Pros:

i think it’s funny, not in a bad way either, like it gives the game a lot of personality

It can really be shocking or surprising in a battle, like the opportunity to make someone go “what!?” or rethink their battle strategy is interesting to me!

3 turns and only once in a battle is really good, i think it balances out way more and i initially thought it’d be like the mega case where it stays big till end of battle, or swapped out.

Cons:

i just feel like each game is going to get some new over the top mechanic and eventually it’ll be a case of “how can we outdo the last one to keep interest!” and will spiral out of control.

it’s a lot to keep up with, really. im not an insanely hardcore fan or anything but even as someone who has managed to keep up w every gen [except i still havent played bw2 idk why] i find each new installment makes me struggle to keep keeping up... esp if you can use megas *and* z moves *and* dynamax in a battle...

i didn’t see any mention of needing an item held by the mon, but i did see the z-ring like device so im hoping it doesn’t actually make u hold an item for it;;;

6.) MAX RAID BATTLES???? IM ALWAYS DOWN FOR NEW MULTIPLAYER FEATURES AAAAAA

only problem is that uh... i don’t have many people on my switch, or esp not on at the same time as me //looks at splatoon

i also really like that the mons u encounter are [based on how much they mention it] really affected by weather/overworld. it means i have more replayability or motive to come back often to check the weather and mons i haven’t caught yet. esp as someone who tends to end up memorizing how many mons are on a route and which ones are rare

7.) leon looks like dad friend energy. im fucking crying tho his cape is full of stickers so he reminds me of those racing cars w ads all over em, and im betting that’s what his cape basically is

8.) it looks like u get dynamaxing early..?? based on the gym footage, but it could be that they’re limited to showing certain mons..? i really hope u don’t get it so soon;;;

9.) :///// the.. l.. egendaries....

ok im.. im not a big fan of the designs like.. at all. they feel.. generic?? in a sort of, novice furry artist makes an oc, kind of way. yall literally couldn’t do better than putting a sword in a wolf’s mouth?????? idk, i feel like it leaves a lot to be desired. they’re also a little too similar? a lot of mons that match as legendaries were created w themes/matching visuals but still had enough differing features you can recognize em right off the bat [like the lake trio or eon siblings]. if u took away the sword and the shield, i can’t recognize who is who without looking closely. hell, i had a hard time adjusting when they showed their profiles.

otherwise they’re big gay and im down w that. unless they’re related

10.) shit i forgot to mention really quick: gym battles--or, gyms specifically, seem to be gone more or less. the puzzle aspect of the gym itself hasn’t been shown so im under the impression it’ll work a lot more like the anime in that you go in and fight the leader in a stadium, OR you have to make yer way to the stadium through the puzzle. either way can’t say.

Also, im worried abt the new mons roster. i don’t mind that every few games doesn’t give us a full 100+ set of new mons, but judging by the amount of older gens i saw in the trailer, im going to be under the impression that the roster is looking a lot like gen 6 and we’re gonn get abt ~50 new mons. as a result;

i won’t be viewing anymore spoilers to make sure i have a better experience! bls don’t show me any new mons past this trailer thank you!
