This was clearly just an excuse for John Buscema to draw every Avenger (or character who almost joined the avengers) up to this point on one page. But it is impressive how many characters he fit on here (Avengers #58):

Multiversal Mutants - Earth 1610
Earth 1610 - the new Ultimate Universe - was visited by The Maker in 1963. He vandalised it so thoroughly that heroes don't exist and a secret council of the powerful rule the world. Mutants exist, but the X-Men were only recently formed by Japanese schoolgirls.
They have their own book though - I want to talk about the few non-Japanese mutants we're aware of. Magik, Colossus and Omega Red up there sit on the Maker's council as rulers of Eurasia and Limbo. There's hints that they're making the best of a bad situation - with Eurasia being a centralised homeland for mutants and Piotr floating the idea of unfucking the world, but we'll have to wait for Ultimate Wolverine to get eyes on that. Magik having access to Limbo could mean anything, though it is a great place to do secret things. I don't think they're socialists of any kind, being Tsars and all.
Another council member, ruling South America, is Emannuel Da Costa. He is not a mutant but he should sound familiar to X-Men fans because his son is - the would be Sunspot. The Maker generally reserves the most cruelty for those who've embarrassed or defeated him in other universes - and Roberto has made him look like an idiot several times, once without leaving his chair. Living as a sickly human IV bag for his evil father while being forced to watch atrocities is... pretty damn awful.
It seems Roberto agrees. Poor kid. Xavier is probably a brain in a jar somewhere which means no New Mutants, just life as a 'blood boy.' I wonder if that works in 616 or if the Maker devised a method of power transference. Probably the latter.
Shiro Yashida, Sunfire, Emperor of Hi No Kuni - implied to be a whole bunch of East Asian countries with Japan as the imperial master. He never speaks in public for some reason, possibly because he's the rudest motherfucker alive. Silver Samurai is part of the royal family. Their influence can be felt in Ultimate X-Men, but I wouldn't call them characters in that book.
This preview for Ultimate Wolverine is a mark against 'the Rasputins aren't so bad here' speculation. The Maker seemed happy enough to stick all the mutants in one massive place and leave them be - a seemingly careless position to take - but I have no idea how he achieved that. I'm almost certain it wasn't kind, especially if new mutants are only/mostly being born there. Interestingly, there's a resistance of humans and mutants working together - Logan was a part of it. There's also mention of an Omega level telepath - Jean, Quentin Quire, or someone else?
Unfortunately for Logan, it appears that medical trauma is his destiny in every universe. Department X spruced him up and almost certainly brainwashed him (seeing as he switched teams) turning him into the Winter Soldier. I ... avoid Wolverine books generally, but the Ultimate relaunch has been so good that I'll be checking it out. Plus it takes place in mutant land, and I am very interested in seeing what they're doing with the concept.
Ororo is over in West Africa allied with T'challa and dating Killmonger, as well as being a bad bitch. I've already covered her, though. That's all we've seen so far - I half expected Magneto to be on the Council. We shall see.

For change to occur, sometimes it isn't so much a new start that you need but a shift in perspective.
The theme for Lights on Park Ave Round 57 is perspective.
Here are the prompts:
“The Merchant and the Alchemist’s Gate” by Ted Chiang, a short story about a merchant from medieval Baghdad who recounts tales about gates that allow travel to the past and future
Reghabi asks Mark to consider what life must be like for his innie, the part of his consciousness cleaved off as a separate self to exist solely at work who has no knowledge of their true identity and the outside world in Severance
616 Steve and Tony argue about the Superhero Registration Act at Ororo and T'Challa's wedding
An excerpt from The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin about needing time and distance to appreciate life and the world
A remastered Earthrise 1 by Bill Anders and an explanation of the overview effect
A quote by James Baldwin about how the role of the lover is the same as the role of an artist
A quote about how the past is always changing as you grow as a person from The House by the Sea by May Sarton
A photoset of The Sisters, a stretch of the I-80 highway in Wyoming
Louis and Lestat's conflicting accounts of each other's involvement in turning Claudia into a vampire in AMC's Interview With the Vampire
Darcy and Elizabeth's unfavorable opinion of each other in BBC's Pride and Prejudice
The interrogation scene from My Cousin Vinny, where Billy thinks he's been arrested for shoplifting while the sheriff thinks Billy murdered a clerk, and the court scene where the sheriff recounts Billy's "confession"
Marianne, Héloïse, and Sophie debate the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in Céline Sciamma's Portrait of a Lady on Fire
Harry and Sally hating each other and then becoming friends before falling in love over the years in Rob Reiner's When Harry Met Sally
An excerpt from "Lucifer, Full of Light" by Cecilia Woloch about seeing the good in the wreckage of someone and being unable to doom them
616 Steve and Tony mutually admiring each other
Trailer for Hirokazu Koreeda's Monster, a movie about a mother confronting a teacher after her son starts to behave strangely, but nothing is as it seems as different perspectives are shown
"First Memory" - Louise Glück
Buttercup slowly realizes what Westley means when he says "As you wish" as she falls in love in Rob Reiner's The Princess Bride
Elisa explains that the Amphibian Man sees her for who she is in Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water
A quote from Reply 1997 about how serious your feelings are at the age of 18 even if they're dismissed as silly
The scene where Steve and Tony yell at each other about Wanda's treatment in CA:CW and meta about Tony's situation, which Steve doesn't know about
Round 57 will end on February 28, 11:59 PM ET (what time is that for me?).
As always, you’re free to jump in whenever you’d like during the round, a wide variety of work types is accepted, and there are no minimum work requirements. Unfinished works and works for other fandom events are allowed. You can find more information about Lights on Park Ave and the participation guidelines here.
