Since t'challa and marc are both involved in Egyptian gods.... t'challa/marc dystopian au + fairy tale?

T’Challa is used to fending off groups of refugees looking to pick a fight, because Wakanda still has resources and too many people want them. But the last few groups have all been running from something, and he doesn’t like the idea of a threat so close to Wakanda’s borders. Suspicious, T’Challas strikes out, looking for the source of the rumored monster, and follows the rumors across the desert and right to an oasis he’s never heard mention of before. And, waiting there in the sand, there’s a monster, falcon-headed and looming. 

T’Challa sort of expects to get eaten. Expects to die, except - except the monster doesn’t try to kill him for trespassing. Instead, it demands a favor in return for letting T’Challa go back to his home, and T’Challa agrees. The monster tells him about an old temple complex buried in the desert, and a priest that sleeps within is, trapped in dreams and kept hidden by the son. If T’Challa can find and wake him, the monster will forgive all trespasses, and moreover it will make Wakanda’s soil fertile for a hundred more generations, so the people there will never have to risk a famine. 

Of course, T’Challa agrees, and sets out to find the priest. He doesn’t expect to find himself up against Ra the sun god himself, but at least help appears in his dreams in the form of a handsome, weary man who knows too much and says far too little even as he saves T’Challa’s life again and again.
