Heyy, I want to know what happens between the 4th and 5th kazekage. I mean Rasa dies and Gaara becomes Kazekage like 3 years later. Shouldn’t there be one kazegake between Gaara and his dad?? There couldn’t be a gap because normally when one of the kage dies they try to find a new one within a few days.

Yeah, Suna's timeline is distinctly funky! There's nothing that explicitly states that Gaara's Kazekage role is new in Part II in the manga. It's new information for Naruto, but he's been away.

The closest thing we get to establishing a timeline is a flashback to Kankuro and Gaara in their Sasuke Retrieval looks, in which Gaara explains he will be joining the regular troops to 'aim for the title of Kazekage.' (Chapter 249). Their clothing implies he made this declaration around age 12.

If we go with the data books, Gaara became a Chunin at age 14, which only makes sense for him to do if he wasn't yet Kazekage. (And, if we include anime filler, they do explicitly have an arc which has Gaara as Kazekage at a year prior to Part II.) So, taking all that into account, and assuming Gaara went from Chunin to Kazekage at age 14, what on Earth was Suna doing for the two years in between?

Like most of Naruto, there's not really a straightforward answer to that, so you can make up whatever you want.

Since Suna is more or less a monarchy when it comes to the Kazekage title, the only real suggestion that I would have is that they would have a ruling regent until one of the Sand Siblings was willing to take on the title of Kazekage. In Chapter 247, there is a council of 12 people, including Gaara, Baki and Yura. So, it is still plausible that those other 11 people were doing the governance work while Gaara was trying to earn his place amongst the Suna troops. It could've been just those 11 people, or Temari or Kankuro could've also been proxies. So then, perhaps Gaara was named "Acting Kazekage" at 12, but officially became involved in governance at 14?

(By Chapter 266, this same council declares that they made Gaara Kazekage because he would be easier to control, and they are already ready to replace him days after his kidnapping, so it really doesn't make sense if there's a gap in leadership. Seems more like the situation they had in the Kakashi Hiden novel, where a new Kage has been appointed, but has not officially taken on the duties yet.)

I've seen people claim that Konoha is (some word i forgot, but it's okay I have a backup word) biased to who they pick as their kage. like you have the Senju brothers, Minato and Naruto yk. father and son. and then Hiruzen who taught Tsunade and Minato who taught Kakashi, and also the Senju brothers teaching Hiruzen and Kakashi teaching Naruto, and Tsunade is Hashirama's granddaughter- basically I'm saying they're all connected with sporadic lines every which way bc there are so many relations here.

Suna is interesting bc they have a clan called the 'kazekage clan' (because they have no known clan). Gaara and Rasa are father and son. don't know about Reto, Shamon, and the third. but I mean. the kazekage clan speaks for itself.

Iwa had Ishikawa, Onoki, and Kurotsuchi, who are all related. (Ishikawa is Onoki's grandfather, and Kurotsuchi is his granddaughter). and then there's Mu. (the entire point of this post bc it's funny to me. he's just there. menacingly.)

Kumo's first four raikage were all named A. and then there's Darui- also 3rd raikage n 4th raikage are father and son. there's nothing else to note.

and Kiri. was. special. only thing of note maybe is that Chojuro was Mei's bodyguard (6th and 5th mizukage respectively). Byakuren was- yeah. Gengetsu was yeah. 3rd was yeah. YAGURA??????

LMAOOOOOOOO I just learnt that Obito was CONSIDERED to be the REAL 4th mizukage stop. I knew he mind controlled Yagura but I didn't know KISAME???? THATS SO SILLY. also Yagura's death is so anticlimactic and almost comical to me- he died by one of his own men cutting the genjutsu Obito had on him. that's it. thats his death. (+ bonus to my point that all the villages are connected (except for Kiri.))

Wake up and thinking about 8th hokage ceremony. I want to see 5th Kazekage reaction.

Gaara must be have mixed feelling. He maybe fell sad lost Naruto but proud when see his brother in law being hokage.

But in same times he feel worry with Temari and Shikadai. He was grow up as Kazekage and he was Kazekage now. He know how bussy that job. The most worry goes too Temari.

Temari have bussy Kazekage father, bussy Kazekage brother, and now bussy Hokage wife.

She would a bit, but not fully. She would stop trying to get a younger clone of 5th Kazekage for her bf and harassing her gran-gran’s lab assistants (including Log)

However, she will always be a trickster and a scientist at heart. As Rosalind Franklin said “Science and everyday life cannot and should not be separated” and for Misaki, that can (and would) get murky while she’s still young.

Morning Bliss, Gaara

He woke to a feeling of complete bliss. A feeling he never quite had. Sleep use to evade him in the past and taunted him with promises of sweet dreams. However, there was nothing sweet about sleep’s embrace. When he had slept before his dreams were empty and when his eyes cracked open again there would be blood around him from Shukaku’s acts.

Sleep was easier now with his one-tailed demon out of his body. His dreams were still bare, but he could now manage a few hours of sleep into the night and feel rejuvenated when morning came. Today, he felt exceptionally lively as he turned his eyes over to his lover that was lying beside him.

You were still sleeping and Gaara had no doubt that you were dreaming fervently from last night’s events. A small smile and a hint of a blush touched Gaara’s cheeks at the thought.

Both of you had consummated your marriage last night. Both were each other’s first, giving each other your all. Of course, it had been a little awkward and clumsy in the beginning as both of you were inexperience.

Gaara was very nervous with his touches and even hesitant to receive your caresses and cues. However, by the end of the night, you both were able to reach a release.

Gaara had never felt anything like it before, to feel such pleasure and such love with his partner. Smiling tenderly, he watched you sleep a few moments longer. The morning was still early, and you two had fallen asleep late last night. He couldn’t believe how lucky he was to be wed to you. To know that he would share his life with you for the rest of his days.

As quietly as he could, he eased himself off the bed and away from your warm body. With soft footsteps, he found plaid pajama bottoms to slip into before making his way out of the master bedroom and into the suite.

From there, he headed to the door of the resort that him and you were staying. He opened the door with care as to not startled his guards.

His guards stood at attention and obeyed him when he asked for them to fetch breakfast and some hot tea. They nodded taking their orders, before Gaara resumed closing the door.

While he waited, he went to shower and freshen up. He was hoping by the time he was done; his lover may be stirring, and food would be ready for you two to eat together. He had asked the guards for your favorite breakfast which was pancakes and strawberries to which he wish to surprise you with.

Once he was out of the shower, your breakfast awaited you on the small kitchen table made for two. The table sat right beside the patio window where the sunlight was beginning light the sky. Gaara made his way back to the shared guest room, pleased to see that you were faintly stirring from the chill in the bed from his lack of presence and from the slight noise the servants made from delivering your food.

With assured steps, he stood beside the bed before crouching down to your eye level. His fingers softly stroked your hair as he leaned in slowly to kiss up your arm up to your shoulder. The feather kisses seemed to get your attention as your eyes fluttered open.

A smile warmed your face as Gaara greeted you with a good morning.

“Good morning, indeed.” You agreed as you lifted your head off your pillow and leaned in to kiss your husband’s lips.

Gaara smiled fondly, happy to see you were in such bliss as he was that morning.

“I had breakfast prepared for you, if you like,” he mentioned sweetly.

Your eyes lit up and held a twinkle of amusement. “That’s thoughtful of you, I hope it tastes as good as you.”

Gaara’s face became as red as his hair but he did not dare admit it. He kissed you sweetly on the mouth instead of commenting and you giggled at his embarrassment.

“Let’s eat while it’s still warm.

The sun’s almost up,” Gaara suggested.

“Okay,” you agreed easily as Gaara stood up from his position.

He trailed in front of you as you got out of bed. He turned back and waited for you at the door to find you naked with the sheet fallen to your feet as you looked for clothes. Gaara’s cheeks flamed briefly, admiring you in your natural beauty as he felt his nether regions stirring.

Your eyes met Gaara’s after finding his shirt and pulling it over your head. The length of it falling pass your butt. You saw the small dust of pink on his cheeks, but more importantly the desire in his eyes. You blushed at the way he looked at you as you approached him so you two could go get breakfast.

“Let’s eat.” You stated with a coy smile, grabbing his hand to follow you after passing the door.

It was several minutes after you two had sat down for breakfast, taking the first few bites that Gaara finally found his voice to say.  

“I think you taste better too.”
