(soa anon) I don't think you've been asked this before. What are your favorite GOT episodes? Can limit it to top ten if you don't want it too short.
Oh! I haven't been asked this before. It's so difficult because there are scenes that I really like in episodes but I wouldn't necessarily say those episodes are my favourite. Hmm...
A lot of them are the penultimate episodes because that's when there's a battle or a massacre or the Big Event but it's more layered than simply being action because it's when all of the tension from the season finally comes to a head
3x09 - The Rains of Castemere
I will never be over this.
2x09 - Blackwater
I very rarely like battle scenes. showed me I can be quite engaged in them if they're done properly.
1x09 - Baelor
I will also never get over this.
6x09 - Battle of the Bastards
Season 6 was a pretty dry season for me and so getting the Battle of the Bastards was really welcomed and invigorating.
4x09 - The Watchers on the Wall
I remember people thought I was crazy for being more emotional about this than Oberyn's death but I wasn't attached to Oberyn, I was attached to Grenn and the others.
2x06 - The Old Gods and the New
This episode, specifically the riot and more specifically the scene with Sansa, is what I think of when I watch HotD and scream internally about how boring that show is because this episode was all about the simmering tension/resentments and the dam bursting and it was straight up chaos and it was captured well.
1x07 - You Win Or You Die
Again, when watching HotD, this episode is one I think of when it comes to compelling dialogue that reveals character and drives the plot forward and keeps you engaged.
1x08 - The Pointy End
The music at the end when Sansa begs for Ned still stays with me.
6x10 (sorta) - The Winds of Winter
2x05 - The Ghost of Harrenhal
The tension in this episode was palpable.
4x02 - The Lion and the Rose
At the time I was unimpressed with 4x02 but in hindsight of the whole series, I'll put it down
3x03 - Walk of Punishment

ASOIAF/GOT for the fandom asks?
You know me so well :')
Favorite female character-CERSEI. LOVE OF MY LIFE. THE CHARACTER OF ALL TIME. THE ULTIMATE BLORBO. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER LIKE HER.
Favorite male character-Theon! He has one of the best and most genuine growth arcs I've ever seen, and PEOPLE DON'T LOVE HIM ENOUGH.
Favorite book/season/etc-Season 4! (I gotta be honest, the books kind of...all run together for me sometimes, but book-wise we'll say book 2/A Clash of Kings)
Favorite episode (if its a tv show)-Oh God. Choices. Uh. "The Winds of Winter," probably (aka the season 6 finale). But "The Watchers on the Wall" (4x09) and "Blackwater" (2x09) are close contenders.
Favorite cast member-Lena Headey. Because I am, above all else, a predictable girl.
Favorite ship-Jaime/Cersei. Obviously. *gestures to entire blog*
A character I’d die defending-For the sake of not answering "Cersei" for all of these, we'll say Sansa. I at least understand people not liking Cersei (even though they're wrong). Sansa was. A child. Trapped in a horrible situation where she had little access to resources. And she still made an effort to be kind where she could.
A character I just can’t sympathize with-LITTLEFINGER. It's not that hard to not start a war because you're bitter a woman you liked married someone else. I know that he grew up in poverty and that was rough, but he just. Everything he did was related to his one-sided obsession with Catelyn (that he transferred onto her BARELY-TEENAGE DAUGHTER) and I'm just. Every time I had to listen to him speak I wanted someone to kill him. Truly this man annoys me to no end.
A character I grew to love-Melisandre! I was neutral toward her when she first showed up and she ended up becoming one of my favorite characters :)
My anti otp-I mean. You know. (J*mie/Bri*nne)

As I was composing my posts on Jonsa parallels, I found some clues that made me inclined to think that Sansa would already be pregnant when she would (probably) be kidnapped by Cersei. I have stated this in my 1x04 parallels post. I also found quite a lot when I made 2x06/2x07 parallels which I will post soon. I don’t know if the child would be a bastard or if they had a chance to marry before. Since I saw several posts this morning about the kidnapping plot including a possibility of a pregnant Sansa that’s being kidnapped, I thought it would be exciting to post about the clues I found.
So all the clues would fit if Sansa is pregnant with Jon’s child, possibly a boy, and then she is kidnapped by Cersei. Sansa will give birth while still in Cersei’s captive. Jon dropped everything he is doing to rush and save Sansa and his child. Possibly Jon will arrive when Sansa is on labour.
Now why I think this would make sense with the story is first because Cersei and Sansa very much bonded around their womanly role and their capacity of birthing children. Also, bearing children and being a mother is such an important part of Sansa’s arc that I think it should be portrayed more than just an epilogue, it should be a part of the story. And with the way she bonded with Cersei it would make sense if she experience her childbirth close to Cersei.
In the very first episode, Cersei has already asked a very intimate question related to Sansa’s reproductive capacity.
Cersei Lannister in 1x01 - Winter is Coming
Then of course their intimate talk in 2x07 when Sansa first had her period.
Cersei Lannister in 2x07 - A Man Without Honor
Meanwhile Jon’s theme has a lot to do with honor and duty versus love and family. There is a lot of foreshadowing for Jon to choose love or duty, and will you look at that episode title above when Cersei mention Sansa birthing a child.
Of course the biggest clue about Jon choosing between love and duty is in his conversation with Maester Aemon in 1x09. But let’s really look at that conversation shall we?
“What is honor compared to a woman’s love...
Maester Aemon in 1x09 - Baelor
A newborn son. Now that is awfully specific and doesn’t make sense in the context of the story when it was being said. What makes more sense in the context is “brother’s smile” which refers to Robb Stark, but even that can be interpreted differently, which I will get back to later.
Let’s get back to Cersei and Sansa and how Cersei was telling the story about Joffrey’s birth. We know that Joffrey is Jaime’s son and not Robert’s. Her brother’s son. What could be better for Cersei than to witness Sansa giving birth to her own “brother’s” son?
And again, let’s look at the specifics of her story, yeah?
Cersei Lannister in 2x07 - A Man Without Honor
In Game of Thrones, stories told by a character often later happens to another character. I’m gonna go ahead and think that Jon will rush to Sansa during labour, and he will hold his newborn son in his arms. So Jon, Sansa’s brother (but not really) will father her child and will be by her side during labour. And Sansa will see “a brother’s smile” as he hold the newborn son that she just present him. I’ll add another statement from Maester Aemon here:
Maester Aemon in 1x09 - Baelor
This was when he told Jon the story of the demise of his own family. Maekar was his father, and Aegon his little brother became king when he refused the throne. Aerys was Aegon’s son. He could’ve said “my nephew” but the words chosen here is “my brother’s son”.
There is a lot of parallels between Jon/Sansa to Sam/Gilly as well. I’m just going to point out the ones related to this theory. In 5x10, Sam asked Jon to send him and Gilly and the baby to Citadel so they would be safe.
“If Gilly stays here then she’ll die. And the baby that she named after me will die. And I’ll end up dying too to protect them...
Samwell Tarly in 5x10 - Mother’s Mercy
Gilly and the baby is a package here. The package is always a woman’s love and her baby. More parallels with Sam/Gilly in 4x09. Sam was worried about Gilly after he send her away and Castle Black is preparing for the wildlings attack. He reads in the library about the wildlings and Maester Aemon came to chat with him. Maester Aemon started with the quote “love is the death of duty”, linking the conversation with Sam to his conversation with Jon. He knows Sam is in love with Gilly and worried about her.
Maester Aemon in 4x09 - The Watchers on The Wall
Do you know what happens after this? Gilly comes at the gate, and Sam told Pyp to “open the gate” and then Sam told Gilly that “from now on, wherever you go, I go too”. Doesn’t that reminds you of the Jonsa reunion?
As if I need more evidence that Jon will risk everything to save Sansa, here is what Jaime said.
Jaime Lannister in 1x03 - Lord Snow
This conversation follows regarding Bran knowing about their affair and they are afraid he would wake up.
“And if he does, I’ll kill him. Him, Ned Stark, the King, the whole bloody lot of them until you and I are the only people left in this world”.
Now who do we know often going berserk over something? Yes, Jon, when it comes to Sansa.
Now a question of whether the child will be a bastard or not or if they ever get married before Sansa got pregnant. This is something I am not really sure, but there are some clues for the child to be a bastard.
Jon Snow in 1x04 - Cripples, Bastards and Broken Things
Septa Mordane in 1x04 - Cripples, Bastards and Broken Things
The line that gets me here beside the parallel is “before too long”. That suggest the child is conceived early on. How early... we don’t know.
But would they ever? Would Jon and Sansa could ever do it before they get married?
I’m going to use Jon and Sam’s conversation in 4x09. First they use the “red hair” as a “hook”, again to link the conversation to Sansa, like they did in 1x04. Sam was asking what was Ygritte like.
Jon Snow in 4x09 - The Watchers on The Wall
Then Jon asked whether Sam has ever done it with Gilly. Sam answered that she just had a baby and that she never offered.
Jon Snow in 4x09 - The Watchers on The Wall
What vows Jon? That you would never father a bastard? What if Sansa offered, Jon? What would you do?
Note that this conversation happened as they are preparing to be attack by the wildlings and they thought they were going to die. Just like how they are in season 8.
Samwell Tarly in 4x09 - The Watchers on The Wall
But what about Daenerys? Let’s hear what Maester Aemon has to say.
Maester Aemon in 4x09 - The Watchers on The Wall
So Jon is also a future king, the heir to the Iron Throne. Some girls were quite forward, but then only one succeeded in gaining the future king’s affection. Wanna guess which one?

Game of Thrones 4x09 Rewatch: The Watchers against the Dull
Well hello there. After months of our Game of Thrones reread project, The Wars to Come, we’re finally at our penultimate episode—which happens to be the penultimate episode of Season 4. And after months watching the writing on the show of the masterminds David Benioff and Dan Weiss (D&D) slip downhill, the end is not too soon. Last week, we had a lot to say about Sansa’s rushed arc. This week, Kylie, Julia, Bo, and Jana actually wish things moved just a little faster in “The Watchers on the Wall.”

Current Sexuality - A 7-second-long clip from Game of Thrones 4x09 (The Watchers on the Wall) of a large un-named bearded Night’s-Watchman swaggering out of absolutely nowhere with a gigantic meat-cleaver swung over one shoulder and then immediately using it to brutally kill some random wildling dude.
He was never been shown before and has never been shown since but with big dick energy like that, he can cleave fuck out me any time.
