I just realized the “hey Halsin you’re old as shit right?” Banter that Karlach has with Halsin would probably be used for Jyothika and Bhavan too
Karlach: hey, Jyothika and Bhavan, you’re also old as shit too, right?
Jyothika, offended: I mean, I’m not that old, I’m only 301–
Bhavan, who is 199 years old: oh, definitely, old as dirt. That’s why my hair is white

how old is andy in great mentors and how old is reader
i don't know 🥹 lol. if we're technical and go off the info the show gave, i guess andy would be geriatric like somewhere between 47-49 maybe? and then reader is 22 at the beginning no matter what. but that's OLD lmfao so i never imagine it like that. gotta use your imagination a lil bit with that series 😅

Propaganda
Eartha Kitt (Anna Lucasta, St. Louis Blues)—My friend and I have a saying: NOBODY is Eartha Kitt. A thousand have tried, and they've all come up empty and will continue to do so. Everyone knows her for something: from "Santa Baby" to Yzma in Emperor's New Groove to Catwoman to making Lady Bird Johnson cry for the Vietnam War. She was a master of comedy and sex, an extremely vocal activist, and she aged like fine wine... I honestly don't know what I can say about her that hasn't already been said, so I'll stick to linking all my propaganda. Like what else do you want from me. She was iconic at everything she ever did. Literally name another. How can anyone even think of her and not want to absolutely drown?
Hedy Lamarr (Samson and Delilah, Ziegfeld Girl)—Look. I'm sure someone has already submitted Hedy Lamarr because she was spectacularly beautiful, and a very strong lady too: she fled both an abusive marriage AND nazi persecution at a very young age and rebuilt a life for herself pursuing her love for acting all on her own!! Her career as an actress was stellar; while she began acting outside of Hollywood (her very first movie, Ecstasy, won a prize at the Venice Film Festival), she conquered American hearts very quickly with her first movie in the US, Algiers, and then just kept getting better and better. If all this isn't enough, she was also an inventor: her invention of the frequency-hopping spread spectrum radio transmission technique forms the base of bluetooth and has a lot of applications in all kinds of communication technologies. I think that deserves a prize, don't you?
This is the final poll of the Hot & Vintage Movie Women Tournament. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
THIS POLL LASTS FOR 24 HOURS.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Eartha Kitt:
Tumblr media
"A hot vintage woman who was not just known for her voice, beauty, poise, and presence, but also her unapologetic ways of speaking about how she was mistreated in the show business as a girl who grew up on cotton fields in South Carolina in the 1930s through the 1940s coming to Broadway first and then Hollywood."
Tumblr media
"Have you watched her sing?? Have you seen her face?? Have you heard her talk?? How could you not fall instantly in love. She makes me incoherent with how hot she is."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"She can ACT she can SING she can speak FOUR LANGUAGES she is a GODDESS!!! Although she is (rightfully) remembered for her singing, TV appearances (Catwoman my beloved), and later film roles, her early appearances in film are no less impressive or noteworthy!! She’s an amazing actress with so much charisma in every role. She was also blacklisted from Hollywood for 10 years for criticizing the Johnson administration/Vietnam War, so. Iconic. Also Orson Welles apparently called her “the most exciting woman in the world.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"She had such a stunning, remarkable appearance, like she could tear you to shreds with just a glance- but the most undeniable part of her hotness was her voice, and it makes sense that it's what most people nowadays know her for. Nothing encapsulates the sheer magnetism of her singing better than this clip of her and Nat King Cole in St. Louis Blues, she pops in at 2:49. Also I know it's post-1970 but her song that was cut from Emperor's New Groove is likely to make you feel Feelings."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Even with as racist as Hollywood was in the 1950s and 60s, Eartha Kitt STILL managed to have a thriving career. She also once had a threesome with Paul Newman and James Dean, and called out LBJ over the Vietnam War so hard that it made First Lady Johnson cry. Eartha Kitt was talented, sexy, and a total badass activist."
Tumblr media
Hedy Lamarr:
Tumblr media
"The only person you can find both on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and in the Inventor's Hall of Fame--her radio-frequency-hopping technology forms the basis for cordless phones, wi-fi, and a dozen other aspects of modern life. She was also passionate in her efforts to aid the Allies in WWII (unsurprising for a Jewish-Austrian Emigree to America), and her name served as the backbone for one of the best running jokes in what is possibly Mel Brooks' best movie. Look, Louis B. Mayer apparently believed he could plausibly promote her as "The world's most beautiful woman". Is an entire website full of people going to be less audacious than one Louis B. Mayer? I didn't think so!"
Tumblr media
"Described as "Hedy has the most incredible personal sophistication. She knows the peculiarly European art of being womanly; she knows what men want in a beautiful woman, what attracts them, and she forces herself to be these things. She has magnetism with warmth, something that neither Dietrich nor Garbo has managed to achieve" by Howard Sharpe, she managed to escape her controlling husband (and Nazi Germany) by a) Disguising as her maid and fleeing to Paris or b) Convincing the husband to let her wear all of her jewelry to a dinner, only to disappear afterwards. Also she was particularly clever and helped develop Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum (I can't really explain it but anyway...)"
Tumblr media
"Her depiction of Delilah and Samson and Delilah just lives rent free in my head. The woman was gorgeous."
Tumblr media
"One of the most beautiful women ever in film, spoken by many critics and fans. Beautiful shapely figure, deeper seductive voice, and often played femme fatale roles. She was also brilliant and an inventor. Mainly self-taught, she invested her spare time, including on set between takes, in designing and drafting inventions, which included an improved traffic stoplight and a tablet that would dissolve in water to create a flavored carbonated drink, and much more."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Gorgeous and brilliant pioneer of modern technology and the middle part."

Hey, friends!
Please check out Amal (@amalashuor)and her family's story and campaign! [Vetted: #175]
You can see there that Amal's family is young and small, just two young parents and their young child, but now they are also providing for their extended families - 25 people - through this campaign.
Because Rafah Crossing still has not reopened, they are still in danger every single day, while also dealing with the very, very high prices of basic necessities. The funds, while they cannot leave, are thus being used for their daily needs. That means your donations will help them, whether or not evacuation is possible at the moment.
Amal and her family have been trying to raise funds but donations have been really slow to come in. A number of other users have been making posts to help boost the campaign because of this. Currently, they have raised €48,612 raised out of the €75,000 target.
Also, you can enter an art raffle if you donate!
ETA:
You may have seen Amal's campaign previously shared as having a €50,000 target. They have increased the target because they have gone through the most of the funds that they do have, and donations are still coming in very slowly. And apart from basic needs for food, Maryam, Amal's young daughter is now sick. Antipyretics cost more than $10 and antibiotics cost $20. And among the adults in their 25-member extended families, some have diabetes, hypertension, and mental illness.

hello mr wil wheaton when you were my age (like exactly i think) you were filming stand by me
I turned 13 during production, so if you're about to become a teenager, I hope you'll let me offer some thoughts that I wish an adult had shared with me, then?
I know this is a wall of text, and giving someone this much of your attention is a HUGE ask. Maybe bookmark this for another time, if you're not into hearing an old man talk.
I wrote this a few days before I turned 50. Thank you in advance for listening, and I wish you a life filled with joy, unconditional love, kindness, and adventure.
Hey everyone! An old man is talking!
In seven days, I will be 50 years-old. This is ... weird. I do not feel the way I expected I would feel when I was approaching 50, nor do any of my friends. The only time I feel like I'm middle-aged is when my body does some bullshit that takes me down for hours because I had the nerve to stand up quickly. And I really hate it when I have to use the flashlight on my phone to see a menu. I mean, at that point, I may as well be dropping my pants for free and singing the Old Gray Mare.
Anyway. This has been on my mind for a little bit, so I had something to say when someone used my tumblr ask me thingy earlier this week:
Q: I hope I'm as cool as you when I'm 49. I'd like to think I'm taking the right steps towards that version of myself. A: So I'm not sure I'm cool, but I do know that I don't suck, and that it's a choice I make every day. I desperately wish someone in my family had told me, or shown me by example, that getting older doesn't mean getting stupid and boring and stuffy and extremely uncool. I wish I'd known that, because I spent all of my life until I was in my 40s feeling like there was this day coming very soon when I would have to stop listening to punk, stop playing video games, put on a suit, and start yelling at kids for no good reason. I didn't know that you don't have to suddenly stop being who you are and become something or someone you hate, just because of a certain age. I know that's super obvious, but to young me, it was not. My dad was an asshole, my mom never showed up for me. Directors and people on set had been treating me like a thing for my entire life. I got yelled at for no reason from adults who knew better almost every day. Most of my elementary school teachers were authoritarian, evangelical assholes. All of these different adults, consistently, shut me down and made me feel like I didn't matter, the things I liked were stupid, and my opinions were invalid because of reasons I didn't understand because I was a dumb kid. So I presumed that when you got to be a certain age, that's what happened. I didn't want to be that, at all, and I was sincerely afraid of the day it would happen. But as I got older, I discovered that all that stuff I hated about adults doesn't automatically happen. Those adults I just mentioned all made a choice to be an asshole. I just didn't know it. I was in my early 20s when I did a movie with a cinematographer who was, I think, 45 at the time. He was the coolest, kindest, most artistic dude I'd ever known. He mentored me and we had epic fun making great art together. I remember telling him, "I'm not afraid of being in my 40s like I used to be. I didn't know you could still be cool." It's sad, that I grew up in such a toxic environment, and didn't know any of these things. So, 9 days before I turn 50, here are a couple things I have figured out: You know who sucks when they hit 49 and 50? People who sucked when they were 20 and never grew up. You know who is an asshole at 49 and 50? Yep. Someone who was an asshole as a kid and never experienced consequences for being an asshole. Hitting middle age has been awesome for me. Other than the aging of my body and its reluctance / refusal to do what I want it to do, I love everything about it. I wish I hadn't spent so much of my life being afraid that, when I hit 50, it was all over. Because honestly it's kind of just starting. The coolest stuff in my life to date has all happened in the last ten years, and I'm so grateful that it coincided with me figuring out a lot of shit so I could enjoy it.
The best part of getting older, by several thousand light years, is the part where we figure out how to stop putting up with other people's bullshit, and we contract our social circle until it's only populated with a VERY few people who deserve us. And I am incredibly grateful for these occasional opportunities to be a 49 year-old dad who can say all the things that would have been reassuring for 19 year-old me to hear (he wouldn't have understood, but 29 year-old me would have remembered, and he would have understood. I think.) I sincerely hope someone hears it and finds it helpful. Anyway, you're gonna be fine. Just remember that being cool, kind, honest, honorable, reliable, listening and showing up … they are all choices. If you want to be cool when you're 49, make the choice and set the example for someone to follow you. Treat kids the way you wanted to be treated when you were young. Listen to them when they offer you the privilege, because that means they trust you, and you have credibility with them. Be a mentor. Be supportive. Show up. Make a choice to be the person you need in the world, and never stop being that person. Start today, and when you're nearing 50 like I am, hopefully you'll remember who you needed right now, so you can be that person to someone else in the future. You're already asking the right questions and taking the first steps. I believe in you. You've got this.
Okay, if you've come this far, perhaps you'll follow me a little bit more, and read a thing I wrote about talking to students just a tiny bit older than you, which contains my core values.
Be honest. I’m a very old man, relative to y’all, and I’ve learned that the only currency that really matters in this world is the truth.
Be honorable. This dovetails with number one. You attract to yourself what you put into the world. Dishonorable people will take everything from you and leave you with nothing. Do your best to be a person they aren’t attracted to.
Work hard. I don’t mean, like, at your crappy minimum wage job you hate. I mean do the hard work that makes relationships work, that gets you ahead in your education, that gets you closer to your goals. Everything worth doing is hard. Everything worth doing requires hard work. Sooner or later, you’re going to run into something in your life that’s really hard, and you’ll want to give up, but it’s something you care so much about, you’ll do whatever you can to achieve it. It’s going to be hard, but it’s going to be less hard for someone who has practiced doing the hard things all along, than it is for someone who doesn’t know how to do the hard work because they’ve always chosen the easy path.
Always do your best. Even if you don’t get the result you wanted, doing your best — which will vary from day to day, moment to moment — is all you can ever do. We tell athletes to leave it all on the field. Whatever your version of that is, do it.
This is the most important one. This is the one I hope you’ll all hear and embrace. This is the one I hope you’ll share with your peers: Always be kind.”
When I read number 5, I looked up at them. I was so happy to see a classroom filled with teenagers who were all listening intently, even the ones I thought had tuned me out. “Here’s the thing about being Kind, versus being Nice,” I said. “I have interacted with lots of nice people who are incredibly unkind. Why is that? How do you choose to be nice but not kind?”
I pointed to my head. “This is where nice comes from,” I said. Then, I put my hand over my heart. “This is where kind comes from.” I put my hands out, like, “get it?”
There was this collective gasp of realization that I did not expect, at all. One kid said “Oh damn!” I saw a few kids look at each other like the trick had just been explained to them. They heard me. They really, really heard me. And it was amazing.
Okay, that's all. If you're still here, thank you for giving me so much of your time and attention. I hope you'll come back in a few years, and let me know how you're doing.

Here's a list of recs if you'd like to read somecomics about different batfam characters:
BRUCE WAYNE - Batman: Year One (1987) - Batman: The Long Halloween (1996) & Dark Victory (2000) - Batman: Knightfall Saga (1993) - Batman: No Man's Land Saga (1999)
SELINA KYLE - Catwoman (1989) - Catwoman (1993) - Catwoman: When in Rome - Catwoman: Selina's Big Score
DICK GRAYSON - Robin & Batman (2022) - Robin: Year One - The New Teen Titans (1980) - Nightwing (2016) #35-43 - Batman: Black Mirror
JASON TODD - Batman: The Cult - Batman: A Death in the Family (i dont actually care for this but i feel obligated to include it so here...) - Batman: Under the Red Hood - Robin Lives!
TIM DRAKE - Batman: A Lonely Place of Dying - Robin (1993) - Young Justice (1998)
CASSANDRA CAIN - Batgirl (2000) - Batgirl (2008) - Batgirl (2024) - Birds of Prey (2023) (which also includes Barbara!)
BARBARA GORDON - Batgirl: Year One - Black Canary/Oracle: Birds of Prey - Birds of Prey (1999) (especially Gail Simones run!!) - Suicide Squad (1987) #49-50
DAMIAN WAYNE - Batman and Robin (2011) - Robin: Son of Batman - Robin (2021) - The Boy Wonder - Batman & Robin (2023) (currently ongoing! imo this would be a good place to start reading since its happening right now so you can see it happen along with everyone else!)
DUKE THOMAS - Batman: Zero Year - We Are Robin - Batman & The Signal
HELENA BERTINELLI - Huntress: Year One - The Huntress (1989) - Batman/Huntress: Cry for Blood - Helena is also a character in birds of prey from issues #57-127 and a reocurring bat character in the 90s
STEPHANIE BROWN - Detective Comics #647-649 - Showcase '95 #5 - Robin (1993) #126-147 (steph has a ton of appearances in Robin 1993 so it would be good to read that for more or to look through her appearances on locg if you just want to read about her! these chapters are her as Robin.) - Batgirl (2009)
I haven't read a super large amount for every single one of them so disclaimer that some of the ones I mention here might not be their best! These are what I could think of but there are plenty more, especially as standalone issues, so if anyone sees this please mention more!! also, there are lots of comics that are questionable but this list was very much on the fly off the top of my head so i was kind of sat here with my head in my hands like 'god i need to give more than one jason todd comic dont i....' and this was all i could come up with that wasnt like.... a random detective comics issue idk
I'd also like to say these feature a lot of minis just for ease but there are a ton of really good guides available for these character -- imo a lot of Jason's best stuff is as Robin within tec and batman

Cosplaying as a cosplayer
Kuro, a 49-year-old man, as a company employee and an old uncle, he really dislikes his life in Japan. Although it is a country with order and is worth visiting, for an old man like him who is almost 50 years old, this place is very boring.
Tumblr media
For him, his whole life was very dull. Even though he lived near the touristy Shibuya and it didn't take long to get there, he didn't feel very good because he didn't have the time or energy to go after working all week.
One day, while he was walking boredly in a park, he came across a mysterious man who came up to him.
Mysterious Man: Hey, hello, friend. You look bored.
Kuro: Ah, that's right… (Kuro tries to walk away from his big-ass attitude)
Mysterious Man: Don't be afraid, I can feel it. Are you bored with your life now? I can help you change your life.
Kuro made an annoyed face: I don't care what you propose, whether it's an investment or a stupid contract or something.
Mysterious man holds Kuro back: Yes, I want to make a small contract with you, but it's definitely not an investment.
The mysterious man took out a zipper from his pocket. This is a special zipper that can help you change yourself. Just attach it to the body of the person you want and you can become like him.
Kuro made a face of disbelief: This is crazy. Do you think I would believe a stranger whose name I don't even know?
Mysterious Man Smiles: Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Henka. I just happen to be running a shop selling equipment for transforming yourself.
Henka: It won't hurt if you take this zipper and try it. It doesn't seem to be dangerous.
Kuro took the zipper with a suspicious look on his face before walking away.
When he got home, Kuro looked at the zipper he received and it was just an ordinary zipper.
Tumblr media
Just then, his phone rang with a notification that the message was from Henka.
Henka: Hey, I think I found a figure you might like. Then he sent me a picture of a foreign guy.
Tumblr media
Kuro: How did you know my contact information!!!
Henka: It doesn't matter. I'll tell you how to use the zipper.
Henka: You just zip the person's head and then just step in. Easy, right? Oh yeah, when you go in, don't forget to take off your clothes. It'll be more comfortable.
Kuro: That's crazy. I don't believe you.
Henka: Come on, it won't hurt to try. The picture of the guy I sent is called Arm. He's visiting Japan. Tomorrow, he's going to Shibuya. I think that's a good opportunity, right?
Kuro was gradually persuaded and decided to do what Henka told him to do. The next day, Kuro was in Shibuya. He tried to look for the young man in the picture as Henka told him to do but he couldn't find him.
Kuro sends a message to Henka: You lied to me. I didn't find Arm like you said.
HENGKA: Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. Arm is cosplaying as Gojo Satoru from the anime Jujutsu Kaisen. Do you know him? If you don't know him, just find a guy with a white wig.
Kuro walked around for a while and saw a young man walking around in a cosplay outfit. That must be Arm.
Kuro was a little shocked. His aura looked more muscular than Henka's, making him look very good. Kuro secretly followed Arm for a while, then Arm went to the public restroom. He followed Arm for a while, after Arm finished his business, Kuro locked the restroom door.
While Arm was washing his hands after finishing his business, Kuro took the opportunity to zip Arm's head. As Arm was about to turn around to fight back, the zipper was pulled down. Arm's body knelt down. His back was torn open to allow a person to fit inside. His eyes were empty as if he had no soul.
Kuro saw this and hesitated for a moment, but suddenly a notification sounded on his phone. It was a message from Hega: Don't hesitate, start your new life.
Kuro didn't hesitate, he took off all his clothes. Once he was naked, he slowly stepped into Arm's body. The feeling when one leg went in was both slippery, soft, hard, and warm.
As Kuro's body entered Arm's body further, Kuro's penis, which was pushed in as if it was inserting into Arm's hole, caused Arm's penis to gradually become hard as well.
As Kuro's body sank into the gap in the middle of Arm's back, the zipper slowly closed until the middle zipper fell off Arm's head. Arm's body moved slowly, his eyes coming back to life. Kuro had entered Arm's body.
Kuro slowly explored Arm's body with his hands, starting from his large breasts and his erect penis in his pants.
But suddenly Arm's phone rings. It's a text message from Arm's friend asking where he's gone. Kuro panics when he sees the unfamiliar language. Suddenly, the door that should be locked opens. Kuro is shocked.
Luckily, the person who came in was Henka. Kuro asked in shock, “You… Henka, how did you know I was here?”
Henka showed a satisfied expression when she saw Kuro in his new state: It's just a simple magic item I made. You must be nervous when you see an unfamiliar language, don't worry, I can help you.
Henka took out a white pill and ate it. It will allow you to gain all of Arm's memories and abilities. Without hesitation, Kuro took the pill and swallowed it immediately. "Why didn't it work?"
Henka: Because you're in too much of a hurry, I haven't finished speaking. This medicine will work with the body fluids of the person who needs the memory in the right amount. Normally, when I experiment, I use blood, but in this situation, blood is not very suitable.
Henka's face showed an evil expression: But there's one more thing that can be used. *Henka's hand suddenly touched Arm's bulging crotch. The thing can be used as a substitute.
Henk unzipped Arm's pants and released his large cock. He expertly stroked and ground Arm's cock with one hand while the other played with Arm's nipples.
Kuro knew that Arm's body was reacting very strongly, the increased emotion made him moan uncontrollably.
Soon, with Henka's expert worship, the large cock released a large amount of warm semen. He used his hand to receive it before bringing it to Kuro's face.
Kuro had a hesitant expression on his face. Without waiting for Henka, he used his hand that was playing with Arm's nipples to pull Arm's mouth open and forced him to swallow the semen.
As the semen flowed down his throat, Arm's memories slowly entered Kuro's mind. His tongue moved to lick Henka's fingers to take everything in Henka's hand. Hen showed a very satisfied expression. He pulled his hand back. Arm's body knelt down before Henka walked away. He left a message, "Have fun acting as a cosplay boy."
Kuro slowly regained his senses after regaining all of Arm's memories. He put his cock back into his pants and it quickly became hard just by touching it. It seemed like Arm's cock was getting horny very quickly. "I'm Arm now," Kuro said before walking out of the bathroom.
He walked to meet Arm's friends. Even though they were suspicious of Arm's disappearance for so long, but because Arm had to do some heavy business, there was nothing left. From his memory, Arm had to record a dance clip and post it on TikTok. Even though it wasn't too difficult because Kuro had already received Arm's memories and abilities, but because his erect penis in his pants moved back and forth while he danced, the head of it touched the material of his underwear, making him not very focused.
As soon as he finished recording the clip, they sat down to eat and drink while Kuro was playing with his phone. He received a message from Henka, “Hey Kuro, I hope you enjoy your new body. That’s a zipper that will turn the trapped person’s body into a bodysuit. You can pay for the goods using this account number.” Kuro soon transferred the money along with a message, “Here’s the price for your goods. Thank you for your new life as a cosplayer, and don’t forget, if you have any new goods, you can tell me. And don’t forget, I’m Arm now, not Kuro, haha.”
Haha, after sending the message, the new guy smiled and sipped his liquor, thinking that he should go back to his room soon so that he could have fun with his hard cock in his pants.

I hope you like it. It took me longer than I thought to write this. The Henka characters seem to have some connection to the store you probably know what it is lol. I hope you like it. Bye.

LOVE ON THE COURT | 31 BETRAYAL.
Tumblr media
SYNOPSIS | every college student has their struggles, but raising her younger brother has Y/N top of the list, struggling her way through college whilst balancing her academics and basketball captaincy is difficult no doubt and with Jaemin, her ex best friend and captain of the guys basketball team, and his growing one sided hatred towards her, it doesn't seem to be getting any easier
WARNINGS | swearing, abandonment issues + shitty family dynamics
NOTES | idk what to say about Liam Payne.. this is all very shocking, he was so young
today's actual note is at the end of the chapter (I have no idea why I've been putting them at the beginning)
11:49 PM sunday night
The warmth, the comfort, the ease of being surrounded by the people she loved most had been healing. Y/n knew that running away from her problems, however small, wasn't the right thing to do.
She had known it for a while, but every time she had thought to reach out and voice out her concerns, a quiet whisper in the back of her head seemed to stop her, one that begged her not to be so dependent on the support of the people around her, she knew that they could leave, and if they did, she wouldn't be able to handle herself. She wasn't strong enough to withstand the bitter feeling of abandonment again. And so time and time again she stopped herself, but this time she knew it wasn't worth worrying over the what ifs, and even if she had no guarantee that the people in her life were here to stay, she would take their word for it.
Whether it was a conversation with a friend, or responding to the messages that had been piling up over the weekend, she knew that detaching herself wasn't an option. It was that realisation that had been the whole essence of her night. How she'd made up with ningning most predominantly.
But every lesson learnt and every ounce of comprehension in her seemed to vanish only hours later. After the voices echoing through her apartment had hushed and too many lively and fun conversations had found their ends.
Y/n's friends had ultimately returned home, Jay to his own apartment next door and she had tucked Minjun into bed ready for the working week ahead, he had school early tomorrow morning. Y/n had busied herself in packing his bag and gathering her own things together, a smile on her face knowing that even if things weren't perfect, she didn't have to face them alone, though she didn't quite believe that part, it was worth a shot.
She would lean on her friends when they offered and she would reach out when she needed to. It seemed simple enough.
But when she swung open the door, hesitantly— confused as to who could possibly be visiting her as the clock was almost about to tick over the hour, her face drained of all colour and her breath caught in her throat.
It was as though her peace was taken away, and with it went all the coherent thoughts in her mind. She felt empty.
Nothing but a loop of memories in her brain, the empty house she woke up to years ago, the cries that echoed from minjun's nursery, the taunting weight of loneliness that still pressed down on her to this day. Every minute, every second of that day played in her mind like a broken record, and each recollection was vivid, details accumulating to add to the weight that fell heavy on her chest.
No reason, no words, not even an explanation on where he was going, not even a warning. It all came rushing back to her, every emotion, every feeling, the pressure, it all came back to her with ten times the pain, raw and unforgettable. Her heart ached. She felt constricted for air, like the person stood in front of her had tied a noose along her neck and each second that passed pulled the knot tighter and tighter.
Because there he was, stood towering over her, older than she remembered, weaker, but just as familar as the day he left, the man she called her father.
It was an instinct, whether protective or not y/n wasn't sure, but she found herself shutting the apartment door behind her, afraid of what the man in front of her was capable of. If he was capable of leaving his children alone in the middle of the night one day, only to never return, she assumed he was capable of much worse.
There's a lot of questions she'd like to ask, why he left, why he never came back, whether he felt guilty or not, she wanted to ask the questions she'd spent years wondering, raising herself and her brother all alone, but all that she could force out was one question.
"What are you doing here?" and even then her voice faltered despite her pointed tone
"That's no way to greet your father y/n" she can't help but sigh. Now he wanted to be a father?
"How did you find out where I lived?" she asked, a shakiness to her voice that didn't go unnoticed by her dad. But she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing her break.
"You're not going to invite me in?" he said, a smile on his face that y/n recognised as all but genuine. It didn't carry the same affection, didn't radiate the same warmth, it served as nothing more than a bitter reminder of all that he had done, or rather, all that he never did.
"It's not usually smart to invite strangers into your home and especially not at this time," she sighs, her eyes boring into his. "Is there actually any reason you're here?"
"I can't come see my children?" she scoffs, his children?
"You lost that right years ago, don't contact me, don't message me and don't you dare come back here ever again" she was going to leave, knowing she didn't want to give him the privilege of knowing just how much she has struggled without him, she was and always would be fine without him, she'd learnt how to be.
"You won't ask why I left?" he asked from behind her, stopping her before she could enter her apartment again.
"I don't care why, you left without a word last time, do the same again" y/n was ready to slam the door in his face, but his next words came accompanied by a knowing smirk
"That might be your decision y/n, but what about minjun, he is my son after all, don't you think he deserves a father?"
Her face contorted with a slight confusion, nose scrunching as she felt her skin crawl
"Your son?" another scoff, "you've never acted like he was your son"
"I asked you if you think he deserves a father, you can't take that away from him just because it was something you never had"
Y/n rolls her eyes "You know I waited all my life for you to step up and be a father, minjun deserves a father more than anything, but he deserves better than you"
"no one can be better than his real father come on? you're my daughter aren't you smarter than this y/n?"
"I stopped being your daughter the day you left. And if there's anything I've learnt in all these years, it's that you're not someone to trust. I know you, you're not capable of being a father."
"And you are? your little basketball friends are? that jaemin boy who left you just like I did is capable of helping you raise my son, but for some reason, I'm not?" his words cut deep, his intentions clear yet y/n was blinded by emotion, and the unrelenting desire to not break in front of him. "If you can let him back into your life y/n, then why not me? After all, blood is thicker than water. If I can leave you, why are you so certain they won't"

mouthwashing ages headcanons
daisuke is 23. young but notable age to be a full on adult with no job or no furthered education yet.
anya is 28. also young. generously giving her 10 years after college age to try and get into med school 8 times. this is her second or third voyage.
jimmy is 38. hes got "baby" friend all over his face, but him and curly are still around the same age. handful of years shit outta luck/in jail in his early 30s before curly got him the job for a few years now.
curly is 40. older out of the two friends, pretty solid age for being successful captain who regularly takes year long voyages and climbed the ladder to the top. perfect age for his midlife crisis.
swansea is 49. 13 years a drunk after 21, then 15 years to become a "better" man. id like to imagine he never broke his sobriety since that night, so hes not any older.
