Looks like the old National Record Mart found in the 60's malls and shopping centers arround my home town.
National Record Mart, known as NRM for short, was an American music store chain. The first music store chain in the United States, it was founded in 1937 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and operated more than 130 locations at its peak. Other stores under its ownership included Oasis, Music X, Waves Music, and Vibes. The chain filed for bankruptcy in 2001 and closed the last of its stores in 2002.

Life magazine, September 15th, 1952. Welcome, vinyl records! This is an RCA Victor ad, touting the benefits of the new 45 rpm vinyl record over the 78 rpm shellac. I know vinyl is superior in pretty much every way, but I just love the weighty feel of a shellac record in my hand.

The vinyl record format war heats up as RCA introduces the 45-RPM, 7-inch record. It eventually replaces the 78-RPM record for "singles" - one song on each side. The format takes off in the early years of the rock era.

I'm surprised that the record and record player industries hadn't connived to introduce new record speeds and sizes every few years. First it would be 8" at 56 rpm and then 14" at 38¾ rpm and then 199mm at π² + (π - 0.0001) rpm.
