is there ever any text implying that artemy spent his time away from town-on-gorkhon in the capital, in either game? a good portion of fanwork or discussion about pre-canon artemy puts him in the capital, but i don't think that's intended to be the case.

the narrated introduction at the beginning of his route in classic states that "Artemy has been travelling from town to town learning theoretical and practical surgery for several years". i can't recall if specifics of where he's been are ever stated in pathologic 2, aside from the dialogue options which imply his studies were interrupted by being conscripted as a soldier.

but i can't think of anything he says ever implying that he's been to the capital, so i'm inclined to believe that he hasn't. i imagine he's probably been to medical schools in smaller cities, though, as well as some hands-on apprenticeships. i think the implied itinerant lifestyle in his years prior to returning is worth emphasizing more, too. it gives the impression that he never really had the chance to put roots down anywhere while he was away, while also not feeling fully connected to his hometown either due to leaving at a relatively young age.

(the first game hits the idea that he's disconnected from the town especially hard, with virtually everyone but big vlad and rubin acting like he's an outsider who they've never met before. i think on some level this works, 10 years is a long time, but patho2's attempts to make it feel like he has at least distant familiarity with the town's older residents is one of the better moves it makes.)

ascended astarion discourse is all over my tumblr rn so i thought id throw my 2 cents in. this isnt gonna make a lot of sense, probably, and keep in mind ive never played BG3, im just OBSESSED with the silly vampire man (and watched the supercut of all of his romance and personal quest scenes)

okay so. ive seen like...3 opinions about him. those being "do what you want, its ur playthrough", "ascending astarion turns him into an abuser"/"youre a horrible person for ascending astarion" and "ascended astarion hot" me personally, I agree with two of those statements.

HOWEVER. on the moral-ness of the whole...ascension thing.

hii i was wondering, to your knowledge is "a coin is a three-sided object" a sentence said in game proper or did it evolve around the threefold bullet relationship but outside of it, because i might implode actually-- much love!

never shows up in-game, i know for a Fact i've heard (well. read) it somewhere else. i cannot recall if it was in relation to the 3fold bullet in context (like from a fellow Scholar or even just an Enjoyer) or if i read it and went Hold Awn. Abilities, Powers and the Like

Powers are divided into 4 broad groups! Survival Abilities, Psionics, -Fold Vision and Psychic Occult Powers.

Survival Abilities!

Survival Abilities are more commonly present in warmer bloodhues, those lower in the spectrum. Green and below- with some blood colors have unique quirks! ie, greenblood abilites tend to present as a mental fixation of some sort, generally on a concept. red/bronze have wildly varied abilties! things ranging from playing dead, telepathy, being able to eat and digest anything, bone claws or iron-like skin impossible to cut!

In canon Examples!

Kandii Amalie - Telekinesis and Metal Bending/Control

Junimo/Maliri Nekros Moishi - Both twins have Plant Manipulation though Junimo is (as of currently) more powerful. Maliri has Dragonfly like wings, Junimo has wingbuds, which grow into Wings later in life!

Rusaki Aammos - Healing factor! almost re-gen. Gave his Ancestor immortality.

Zemris Aammos - Healing factor! its kept her alive for 80+ million years. she might be unable to die?

Psionics!

Psionics on Primaris I mostly match what you see in canon homestuck. generally a bit weaker. Psionics are also a Blood-Specific Power. Only Yellowbloods can possess psionics- though some limes have it, this is a mutation and typically weaker. there is a range to it- which can effect the eyes! weaker/low-tier psionics may only discolor the iris/pupil and not the full eye! this is seen a lot in mutant Limes!

In canon Examples!

Junimo/Maliri Nekros Moishi - Weaker/Lower Tier psionics! Maliris are slightly more potent. both have Psi-colored Irises with pale ring-shaped pupils. Their Psi-colors also mirror each other! Dark Lime / Pale Lime and Pale Lime / Dark Lime! Junimos pupils are not usually visible as she is constantly passively using her psionics!

-Fold Vision!

A Blueblood-Specific power, rare withing the caste at that. Each will often with be prefaced with a number (2fold, 6fold, 3fold) the number often relates to pupil/eye number and power level. It can range from minor suggestion to fill body take over or memory altering. Very mind focused, telepathy and influence. 90% of the time it is on the low end, Mild suggestion, Influence and occasional mind reading. Full takeover is unheard of in modern times.

In canon Examples!

Mirmyr Ceceli - 6fold Vision, named after the illusion of 6 eyes when in use- and for the 6 pupils they would have if not blind. On the more powerful end. They are able to 'see' though other people, borrow senses and sometimes read/view memories with physical contact! their puppeteer ability is also fairly solid!

Psychic Occult Powers!

Also called Pysops are Purpleblood specific, very emotion based powers. Typically influencing another, either causing them to experience a specific feeling/concept (specific to that individual purple) or "dialing up" a feeling to "max". Its possible with alot of training to "mute" or "dilute" a feeling, essentially reversing the emotion or concept the purpleblood has!

In canon Examples!

Razyle Dazyle - Intimidate, her (passive) ability is making people terrified, her power re-write your mind to see her as the biggest threat, the scariest thing ever. shes scary! she also is just, subconsciously aware of *Just* what to say to cut as deep as possible, just what words hurt you the most, the insults, the sayings. she is unaware of her own power, as everyone is too scared to tell her about it.

Jadebloods also possess a blood-specific ability which in universe is not seen as or recognized as a power! despite, in reality, it very much is one. teehee link!
