guess who got their 3D print stuff today >:3c
Im literally so excited, the guy emailed me at like 10am and of course I couldn't just leave work and go get them like I wanted to so I was just vibrating all day so excited to pick them up. And they look so good!! And I got two of each!!! very cool guy.
Anyway. IF YOU NEED SOMETHING DONE LIKE THIS, ASK YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY. the answer my surprise you:)
The Rochelle is def my fav. I rerooted her a million years ago and only just recently decided I should try to style her hair. And then obviously she needed wings and I knew this color would look so cool on her. I'll be posting more pics of her later.
The Lagoona fins are actually two separate pieces on each side. I got ones that are completely whole too, but they need a bit of modifying to get them to fit better, tho trust me these were a bit of a pain to get in as is but it's somehow easier to fit in two pieces at the same time idk
This is where I got the Lagoona fins file, the same artist also did the wings. Thanks to @dollelujah for linking me<3
But yea, aren't they cool? literally so obsessed, my library guy is getting some brownies sometime this week

I think to cope while I watch I’m gonna look at LARP costumes and put together a Karna fan design specially because I. Like costume design. So. Maybe. I can draw some concept stuff. And just. Practice fandom longevity. Just because it’s over doesn’t mean I have to stop caring. I can care forever.
I can care about Karna for like 30 years if I want to and no one can stop me. Come to Canada and make me. XP

The 2010s Black Barbie Look
a deep dive on one of my fav sub styles ever. this aesthetic takes from the 2010s baddie, swag movement, and a lingering hyperfemininity from the 2000s that soon was obliterated by most brands a few years later. i’ve always been into this look as i was the intended audience. a teenage black girl in high school when this look took off.
the vibe ❤︎︎

Where can I find patterns for making Fashion Doll Clothes?
A friend and I were chatting tonight about doll clothes, and it occurred to me that if you've never dabbled in making doll clothes before, you may not know where to find patterns for them. So I'm sharing a list with you guys of every resource I know of.
Paid-For Patterns:
Requiem Arts: https://raddollclothes.com/
This is one of the big go-to's of the community. Requiem Arts has patterns for so many different fashion dolls, from Monster High (G1 and G3) to Rainbow High, to a number of BJDs, to Barbies, and even several for the boy dolls. I've gone to them for many a Descendants pattern since not a lot of places offer them. Her blog also features a number of great posts on size differences between dolls, fixing articulation, and more.
Dollightful: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DollightfulPatterns
If you need Monster High and Ever After High patterns with easy to follow instructions, this is the place to go! Dollightful only has a handful of patterns up, but her instructions are super easy to follow. They're just as enjoyable as her YouTube videos.
Moonlight Jewel: https://moonlightjeweldolls.myshopify.com/collections/ebooks
This artist has an interesting mix of patterns for fashion dolls, once again it's a lot of Monster High, but also a little bit of Rainbow High. I have her two pattern books, and they've got some wonderful picture instructions that put into perspective how to follow along. I hadn't realized until making this post that she's released a couple of individual patterns from her YouTube videos, that's really cool!
Enchanterium: https://www.enchanterium.com/shop
The Enchanterium sisters are a delight, and their patterns for MH, EAH, and Smart Dolls encompass a wide variety of genres. They even have some 3D printing files for shoes and accessories.
Cosmomoore: https://ko-fi.com/cosmomoore/shop/sewingpatterns
Cosmomoore is great if you need patterns for Rainbow High, Barbie, or G3 Monster High. All of the G3 patterns are under the Creepy Class tag. I've tried their skirt pattern for G3 Draculaura, it was a breeze to put together when you know a few basic stitches.
Free Patterns:
Enchanterium: https://www.enchanterium.com/shop/freebies
Enchanterium offers a number of freebies at this link! Most of them are patterns from their older YouTube videos, so there's those as a resource to follow along with.
Cosmomoore: https://ko-fi.com/cosmomoore/shop/sewingpatterns
Once again, this artist has a number of freebies, but they don't have a specific tag.
Poulpe en Ciel's Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1lkI6inme4K6wxw0IqTSGGju2bIQMln_A
This artist is known for having some truly extravagant patterns for Monster High and Cave Club dolls. And she offers them in both English and French! Highly recommend checking out Poulpe on Instagram, her dolls are absolutely to die for, and she puts so much heart into making her stuff accessible for the wider community.
Chellywood: https://chellywood.com/
Chellywood's website is a diamond in the rough. If you're looking for a doll pattern for a doll most people don't make patterns for, Chelly probably has it. Her website is organized by size and goes into individualized pages for each doll line. It's fantastic. And on top of that, she has YouTube videos!
MyFroggyStuff: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOJWM4ft-CgHQI3fhqNJzWLG30C45Xl3xs-tgatId430gKVW-J8w5cB9ViW2jRPFw?pli=1&key=Y2Y2UDJ6S01Gb2EwUHRZUVJDdm9FanpMdDZzY1RR
Barbie lovers rejoice, this is your kingdom! While there's no tagging system here, Toya has patterns for everything, from mermaid tails to cute easy dresses, this is a great place to go. Her YouTube channel is also an endless resource of creativity.
If you have any resources for patterns, or for places to buy doll clothing, feel free to reblog! I'd love to include more people from our lovely doll community so people know about them!

the shadow and her living doll 🌹🌼 print for montreal otakuthon! come see me at next week from aug 11-13 ✌
you can grab it as a print here if you so wish ! WIPs & other thoughts under the cut
shadows house is such a fantastic series & i wholeheartedly recommend it... the story delves into super dark horror elements but doesn't present itself as a story with no hope. hope must be found and then tenaciously gripped with all one's heart, much like pandora's box. it tickles the victorian gothic part of my brain forever imprinted on me since i was 14 haha...
in the first draft i had marionette strings hanging above the characters (kinda reminds me of Erased.. since I just finished rewatching that ahaha...) & shadow puppet hands on the sides, almost as if gripping each character. i decided against it in the end, to let the characters shine in the spotlight (literally).
i also wanted a more active or lively pose, but kept in line with the stiff victorian portrait style, caused by long camera exposure times. i'm not sure if that worked out better bc i'm unsure if this drawing is interesting to people wahahaha.
initially i also wanted more of a dollhouse theme, but each draft got more and more muddy, so i decided to save it for another day (i'm around ch 90 in the manga, so probably a good call to save a more complex idea until i'm all caught up)
^ quick 5 min style test i posted recently! in that post i stated that i wanted to streamline and simplify my art style more, especially after the recent bunch of illustrations i did in the past winter that took way too long to complete, at the sake of my health.
im continually looking for areas to simplify more in my art, but one of the areas i will NOT skimp on is depicting fabric!!!!!
what also helped was working on my sense of structure in my spare time, so that i could be better at depicting form without relying so much on shading to show 3d forms. i love colouring, but i need to be working smarter, not harder from now on. using 100000 shades and highlights is just not feasible anymore wahaha.
in this drawing i loosened up with the bg and kept it rough, inspired by the wonderful xeroxed bgs of 101 dalmatians, and only implied details, rather than actually rendering all of them.
the tldr is that i draw too slowly i just would like to be able to make more drawings more often!!

looking for all fat dolls (bjd, fashion dolls, 3d prints, ooak, anything) 🥺💜
ive been keeping an eye out for fat dolls for years but they still are so rare to come by, especially when youre not looking for hourglass bodies / any body with a skinnier waist/top part.
can ppl pls reblog/reply with any fat dolls you know of? it literally doesnt matter what kind of doll.
some that i already know of:
pear smartdoll (i love this one for the folds!! this doll makes me happy and i wish i could afford one, and i also hope they push it further and make a fatter one + a fat boy body too)
curvy barbie and MH (theyre not rly fat tho... theyre fine but im looking for more prominent stomach and less hourglass)
ive seen some fat bjd but often they have the same hourglass shapes or small waist-and-up parts like the fashion dolls. my current favourite ive found is this one by logan.dolls.
please do show me any fat bjd you know of tho! even the hourglassy ones bc i just want to see whats out there....
i also saw this body for blythe before which i really like, no hourglass and prominent stomach! but i dont know much about it
(the "fatty" and "super HOT" parts make me laugh A++)

🩷💚 Custom Fizzy Takara Doll 💚🩷
Created using the 3d model made by Otteroflore!
Wip description and pics below the cut ^^
So I am a COMPLETE AND TOTAL NOOB when it comes to technology. and I made a lot of mistakes trying to print this Fizzy due to my own incompetence and also everyone online assuming you already kinda know something about 3d printing if you own a printer. We recieved a 3d printer as a gift and I knew Nothing about it so I reallly struggled trying to figure it out. Also my computer is ancient and had to download a like 5 year old out of date version of a 3d printing program (cura) to even get it to work. took an entire week and several failed tries T-T
FINALLY we got an attempt that was salvageable! And had to rip out all of the support beams from it. But even then there were some major mistakes:
It did not print hollow. Nobody online explained that if you want it to be hollow it wasn’t enough that the model itself had hollow parts, you have to turn off a hole setting in cura and mess with the infill or something
For some reason the bodies were Very Fucked Up? The middle and sides printed Weirdly to where, once the supports were all removed, They had no sides/shoulders. Wuh oh.
The way I combatted this was by taking extra filament plastic and a soldering iron gun to weald it on and do literal plastic surgery.
(A before and after) it looks like complete ass and is a little janky but. please be kind to her it was a major operation 😭😭😭
Then sanded things down a bit more. I know people say to sand it down until you can’t see the lines anymore but im an impatient motherfucker and only had a little bit of sandpaper so :P
Then it was painting time! Used my own fizzy to color match, painted her green with a white nose and a milkshake cutiemark. I also glued stick on gems into her eye sockets
Then the hairing! Used a sewing needle heated up with a lighter to easily poke holes into her skull! The lovely user minticat on Mlptp provided great reference images of what a takara’s hair length and hair holes look like, so I did my best to mimic that
Her hair is the closest color matches for fizzy that Shimmerlocks had: Cotton Candy pink, Angel white, Heart Throb 2.0 pink and Gusty green. Now the head isnt actually all that hollow (I hollowed it out best I could with my soldering iron but still not the best) so I couldn’t use the usual hairing method where you punch the hair in and then glue it from inside. I realized I needed to attach glue to the hair itself and then get it into the holes.
At first I was too much of a scardey cat to use my actual hairing needle in fear it would break on the plastic, so I tried a very infuriating method of putting glue on hair strands and painstakingly trying to push them into the holes with a pin. This was awful. I quickly gave up, braved up and grabbed my rehairing needle. Punched the hair in after applying glue to the hair, and it worked out surprisingly well!
All that was left was to 1) String the doll using elastic bands to tie the legs and arms into place but still make sure they were moveable. 2) GENTLY trim, wash and style the hair (using buggys special method of getting tiny curly curls. 3) Figure out the head
I originally wanted to make a neckplug for her out of clay as you see here but it didnt work too well. The plastic of the doll is much harder than the clay and it kept breaking after trying to put the head on. So I accepted I would have to glue the head on in place (It cant turn, unlike the arms and legs 😔) You can also see i used some clay to patch up a crack in the plastic that formed (which I had to paint over again)
FINAL STEP was making the dress!!! I forgot to take ANY pictures of that ùwú Not that pictures would be useful to you guys as I kinds fuckin winged it and made up a pattern as I went. I think its adorable, but in the future I would make it a little bigger (the back doesnt fit quite right). Maybe if theres interest I’ll fix up the pattern so its better and share another doll dress tutorial with the class? 😳 sound off in the comments below haha

Monster High G3 redesigns!
Ghoulia: I wanted to change her outfit and define her colour palette. I wanted to go for a more skater/chill vibes.
I added worms because the whole brain motif was boring me. Also added more zombie features.
🪦
Catty Noir: I personally love the new Catty! I was never a fan of her og g1 design, but I still overall love the idea behind her concept ( the whole superstitious gig ). Even tho I think her G3 design is really nice, the clothes are lacking.
I was personally inspired by Ariana Grande’s earlier outfits ( mostly the ones worn in the Break Free mv ) and by Lizzo’s.
Less pink & more silver please !! 🐈⬛
Spectra: Her face mold and overall doll is stunning, but I’m not a fan of her outfit. Why does she have biker shorts. Also, and this is my personal issue, I really don’t like the 3D printed chains. It feels really cheap. Anyways, I was inspired by Stevie Nicks’ outfits, since she would always wear these flowy, ethereal clothes on stage, giving her a ghostly appearance. I like the fact that she wears crystals, I think it fits with the clothes I designed for her 🔮

Hello guys, may I ask for a small favour?
I am not really good at asking tips from my followers but I don't really know what else to do at this point since my commission work has slowed down a lot due to my arm problems.
I was hoping to purchase a new 3D printer this summer since the one I used before decided it's too ancient to work properly anymore. I was hoping to print the dolldrops new faces and hands, and consider the possibility to make miniature versions of them to sell in the future.
But now my savings for the printer will go to my arm surgery, so I'm back at zero.
So I am asking, if you got a dollar or two to spare. For the dolldrops. They're really waiting for their new faces 🥺
I take one time donations/tips on Ko-fi. Or if you're interested some exclusive content for small amount of money, I got Patreon with two separate tiers. Even the smallest amount means the world to me and the dolls ❤️

Hello! I wanted to share my process of how I made my Easter Pony! She is my second ever custom and she made all the trouble I had with the first one seem like a walk in the park in comparison ಥ_ಥ Let's begin!
DISCLAIMER: Custom ponies like this one are not to be played with by children nor made by children. This pony was made with the use of nail polish remover (acetone) which is toxic. You need to wash your hands throughly after use and use in a well ventilated area. This pony was also made with sharp tools such as an xacto knife, sewing pins, rehairing needles, and an awl.
First, the concept art! Trial and error caused her to look a little different than the concept art but I still love the end result!
I wanted to start with a white base to give myself a clean canvas for dyeing so I got this G3 Breezie off Ebay for only $3. I decided to first remove her mane and tail which requires removing the head. If you know anything about G3 pony customzing, you know their heads are difficult to get back on once they come off. Even when you run them under warm/hot water. So to get it back on for dyeing, I tried trimming a little excess of vinyl off the neck ring with my xacto knife. It slipped and got me right under my nail! Bad omen for what's to come!
After getting her prepped (removing her mane and tail, cleaning her, using acetone (nail polish remover) to remove her cutie mark) she was ready for a dye bath! I used Rit DyeMore as regular Rit Dye won't dye the vinyl material that ponies are made of. This was my first ever time dyeing anything that wasn't fabric so I was thrilled when she came out this warm rich brown! So pretty!
I read online that dyed ponies will leach dye onto other ponies if they touch, so I wanted to try and prevent this as much as possible with some matte sealer. Lesson #1: Even though she was dry, the matte sealer reactivated the dye! The smallest touch left a print! :(
I pushed forward! And tripped immediately after! I thought, "Surely matte Modge Podge will seal her just that much more" and to my dismay, the Modge Podge kept every brush stroke I made when it dried!! She looked like a leather hand bag! ˚‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥᷄⌓˂̣̣̥᷅ )‧º·˚ I learned later you can buy matte Modge Podge spray online but all I had was the type you brush on to your surface.
Thankfully, with the help of sixteen cotton balls and a q-tip with acetone, I managed to remove all the sealer but she was no longer that nice rich brown. Oh well I still loved her!
And whoever said the paint will protect the eyes from the dye has clearly never dyed a dark pony! Her eyes were so brown after this lol
Painting, adding of polymer clay easter themed confetti, and adding her 3D chocolate bunny cutie mark went great! It was all going well until the eyes.
I had never fully painted pony eyes before so the first attempt was pretty bad. Not even my multiple attempts at glitter and using clear nail polish as a cheap gloss on the eyes could save them.
It was so bad that I almost didn't take any pictures but when I went to seal her head, this weird white powder covered half of her face?? I had never seen this before and it freaked me out thinking I just ruined her. I managed to get it off with a cotton ball and some acetone but her paint was fully damaged.
Turns out this was caused because I didn't shake the can of sealer well enough. I needed a break....
While I took a break for a few days, I decided to watch tutorials on how to paint doll eyes and learned that it's actually pretty common to use high quality watercolor pencils; either Faber Castell or Derwent (which is what I ended up buying).
When I came back, I made the hard decision of removing all the paint and decorations from the head and starting over. Hours of work gone but it was so worth it! 🩷 Removing the paint with acetone ended up making her head lighter than her body so I had to redye her head lol. This time I mixed Derwent pencils with acrylic paints for her eyes.
Time for the hair! I've never done curls before and my original plan was to buy curly hair online but it's so hard to find in the color and curl size I wanted.
So my second idea was to buy small curlers to use on regular nylon doll hair bought from ShimmerLocks on Etsy. But when I tested them out on poor Flower Bouquet it looked so bad ಥ_ಥ
I discovered a Youtube channel you may know called Dollightful where in one of her Stock Box videos she used yarn that she unraveled to make super cute tight wavy hair for a doll. It was a perfect solution! It looks so good but omg it was tedious haha! I used it for her tail too; sectioning off the colors hoping they'd stay separated (they didn't lol).
She's nearly complete! Time for small decorations! I tried so many different ears from air dry clay to stealing some from bunny decorations I bought at the store and nothing was working! But I had one last idea...
I gave these old Littlest Pet Shop costume bunny ears some use with a flat top sewing pin and some glue so now my pony has bunny ears! Yay!
I forgot it in the concept art, but I originally wanted to add flowers to her mane but I couldn't figure out how to do that without glue which I didn't want to do, too permanent, so I opted for some beads I had on hand. I didn't have any light blue so I made some with the use of acetone (nail polish remover in my case) and boom! Light blue beads! Then I washed them off so the acetone wouldn't damage anything :)
I used a gold topped sewing pin, a butterfly charm, a felt flower and two faux flowers to create a cute hair accessory!
Finally I sewed a hair tie to a puffball to give her a removable cottontail if I ever wanted to take it off.
And DONE! She looks so good after so much time and effort! I worked on this girly for two weeks I think? She actually had a partner I designed but I've run out of time to make her :') Maybe next year? 👀 🩷🩷

"And, by royal command, every eligible maiden is to attend."
"Why, that's us!"
"And I'm so eligible!"
Aaaah finally, I feel like I worked on them for months now...oh wait I actually did! It was a slow process, but here they are, my Anastasia and Drizella, 17" custom dolls 💜💚
They are my first take at 3d printed heads, and I love how they turned out 🫠 They are everything: extra, spicy, elegant...in their own way, and just a tiiiny bit tacky 😆 Absolutely in my top five doll projects!!
I thought about what I wanted for the dresses for a long time, debating which style to choose: closer to the original cartoon or more in tune with the parks actors' versions? And again, ball version, or daily dresses? In the end I went with an enriched version of their classic dresses, with their classic color palette plus some metallic accents here and there (gold for Anastasia and silver for Drizella), with embroidery and rhinestones, trying not to overdo it. At some point I kinda went with the flow, I just knew I wanted Drizella with her bow instead of the feather, and Anastasia's flute. So, basically, these are my "Sing sweet Nightingale" versions 😆
I really hope you like them ❤️
And tell me who's your favourite!
(Growing up I was always more of an Anastasia fan, but now I kinda feel closer to Drizella, especially considering the same singing talent 🤐)

imagine playing with the miggy doll you made in the previous part in front of miguel, like
a/n: gets a little suggestive in the end...? idk, just don't flag this shit please 😭
(reblogs are greatly appreciated, it helps get my content out there! if you guys like what you see, please reblog it too <:D)
"isn't he just a grumpy one today?" you asked the miggy doll you made in a voice that imitated a parent cooing to an upset toddler. you waved him around a little and made him stomp on your desk in an agitated manner. 'grr, i hate everything that is fun, nice, and wonderful in the world!' you made him say as you manipulated him to kick up your papers and topple over a few pens on the desk as you groaned a little at the doll's outburst which was pretty much you mockingly impersonating miguel.
"but miggyyyyy..." you whined to the doll as you made it face you abruptly and shake still. 'what!' you exclaimed in a gruff, poor imitation of the real miguel. you gave the miggy doll the sweetest doe eyes you could ever muster–the kind that you've never shown anyone, not even the real miguel–and you bat your eyelashes at the doll, which gazed lifelessly back into your own gleaming eyes. "i thought we agreed you'd put a stop to the grumpiness when i'm around... i thought a good miggy never lies." you reasoned with the inanimate doll, which you manipulated to put in a thinking position, since you went the extra mile and gave him 360 moving joints to make him more expressive.
'i told you, i get grumpy around pretty people! they're my weakness! they're just too freaking pretty for my tight ass to handle! hmph!' you made him exclaim and crossed his arms over his chest in a stiff way, for even fine 3d printed dolls with 360 movable joints still looked less human than real ones. thank goodness, though, they're not made of cellulite.
you huffed at the miggy doll and turned its head around with your finger, and the doll's head followed suit. "would you still be mad at a pretty person who's actually in love with you?" you teased at the very nonliving doll, which you integrated a 'flustered' feature on. at the push of a button, the doll would change its expression into one of bashfulness. 'what, uh, um... maybe not!' you made him say, which made you giggle, dreaming this was the real miguel–flustered in front of you as you teased him relentlessly.
as you continued playing with the doll, you suddenly noticed a large shadow looming over your figure. before you could even get his name out, he did it for you. "that doll again, that... miggy doll again, was it?" asked a fluid, authoritative voice that made you shudder. you turned in your computer seat slowly, facing his chest and abdomen that met your line of vision from where you sat, while his real face gazed down at you.
"hi miggy." you said with a wide, awkward smile as he looked at you in your petrified state, and at the miggy doll that was inexplicably embarrassed and flustered in the face. "so, what have you been up to with the little version of me, hmm?" he questioned you as he moved forward, then crouching down to meet your gaze, so you two were face to face.
you felt a little hotter when he got closer, and you avoided looking into his eyes at the moment, darting your eyes from one side of the room to the other. "oh, psh, nothing..." you lied, which didn't convince miguel in the slightest, but he decided to indulge you in your little lie. he raised and eyebrow. "so, you telling the doll me that you loved me was not in any way influenced by what you feel for me in the real world, is that right?" he asked with a sort of sultry tone in his voice when he asked you that very last word.
you got a little flustered when he asked that, mimicking the image of the miggy doll you had right then and there. you chuckled nervously as you fidgeted with the miggy doll in your hand for a bit. "whaaaat? i love the miggy? no! no, i... i never said that! who would ever, hah, who would ever tell a doll they love it? it's a doll!" you tried to worm your way out of that when miguel placed his fingers underneath your chin and tilted your head slightly, in the way you did with your miggy doll, and made you face him. "but it looks like me, and dare i say, it's pretty damn accurate, scary accurate to what i look like. if you love that doll..." he trailed off as he inched his face closer to you, his breath hot on your face as he neared you, his nose gently brushing against yours. "...why not love me, hmm? i'm the real miggy, in the flesh. if you love him, why not me?" he asked, which made you gasp at how close he really was, how intense his gaze was–how gentle he held you, despite still keeping you in place with his dominating aura.
"so pretty, like a doll, you are... i still haven't gotten that doll version of you yet. to think of all the things i could play with them... oh, but i'll always save the best ones for you." he said as he moved his lips closer to your ear, softly kissing it a little as he began to whisper, "i'd always play the best games with you. we're each other's favorite playthings, no?"

hi, i love your work! hope you don't mind a question from someone who's always wanted to 3d print dolls and figures: when you sculpt, do you have to keep polycount and triangles in mind or does it not matter if you're aiming to 3d print? it's the one part of modelling i find really tedious haha
short answer: no.
longer answer: topology doesn't matter, your faces can have whatever number of vertices your heart desires. poly count doesn't matter for the most part, though if you like to sculpt ridiculously high-poly like i do, i recommend decimating it a little at the end to give your slicer an easier time. but for the most part, slicers and printers handle high poly counts just fine.
