Advantages of Rapid Prototyping and the Components of the Prototyping System
There are two main benefits of quick prototyping. Since the product or part can be validated through user input or functional testing, this guarantees that the design goals have been met. Second, it reduces expenses by eliminating the need for teams to invest in tooling or manufacturing equipment for a production run of parts. Rapid prototyping, on the other hand, can be economically fulfilled through the use of lower-volume manufacturing methods like 3D printing, CNC milling, or injection molding using aluminum tooling.
Product designers are often sifting through the available prototyping procedures to find the one that works best for their project. In this white paper, we'll take a look at the pros and cons of the various 3D Printing in Los Angeles now available to designers.

ALL OF MY DELICATE ITEMS ARE SHIPPED WITH A SPECIAL 3 LAYER PROTECTION SYSTEM. Blade Runner is a 1982 science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott from a screenplay by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples.[7][8] Starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos, it is an adaptation of Philip K. Dick's 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? The film is set in a dystopian future Los Angeles of 2019, in which synthetic humans known as replicants are bio-engineered by the powerful Tyrell Corporation to work on space colonies. When a fugitive group of advanced replicants led by Roy Batty (Hauer) escapes back to Earth, burnt-out cop Rick Deckard (Ford) reluctantly agrees to hunt them down. Blade Runner initially underperformed in North American theaters and polarized critics; some praised its thematic complexity and visuals, while others critiqued its slow pacing and lack of action. The film's soundtrack, composed by Vangelis, was nominated in 1982 for a BAFTA and a Golden Globe as best original score. Blade Runner later became a cult film, and has since come to be regarded as one of the greatest science fiction films. Hailed for its production design depicting a high-tech but decaying future, the film is often regarded as both a leading example of neo-noir cinema and a foundational work of the cyberpunk[9] genre. It has influenced many science fiction films, video games, anime, and television series. It also brought the work of Dick to Hollywood's attention and led to several film adaptations of his works. In 1993, it was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

SAN DIEGO — One of two teenagers charged in connection with the death of a homeless woman texted he intended to go "hobo hunting" before the violence, a prosecutor alleged Monday, according to NBC San Diego.
William Innes, 18, faces the most serious count, first-degree murder, in Monday's charges against the pair in connection with the homicide of Annette Pershal, 68.
Armed with an air rifle loaded with pellets, Innes fatally shot Pershal in San Diego's Serra Mesa neighborhood on or about May 8, authorities allege.
Police responded to reports of a woman down in Serra Mesa on May 8 and called paramedics, who couldn’t determine why Pershal was unconscious, San Diego police said in a statement.
She was taken to a hospital, where doctors determined that she had been shot several times with a pellet gun and that the injuries were not survivable, police said.
Deputy District Attorney Roza Egiazarian said Monday that Pershal was shot in the head, a leg and the torso, according to NBC San Diego. One pellet ruptured her aorta, the prosecutor said.
Pershal was declared dead three days after she was found, police said.
Egiazarian said in court Monday that Innes sent a group text to contacts who included his co-defendant, Ryan Hopkins, 19, according to NBC San Diego.
It said, "I'm going hobo hunting with a pellet gun," according to the prosecutor.
Egiazarian said authorities found the possible weapon, a Gamo Shadow Whisper air rifle, in a search of Innes’ home, according to station.
Innes faces additional charges of possession of an assault weapon, banned in California, and failure to apply for serial numbers for two would-be firearms under state legislation designed to thwart ghost guns, essentially untraceable firearms that can be 3D-printed.
Hopkins is charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Prosecutors said he drove Innes to the scene, which NBC San Diego described as a parking lot.
Both teenagers, who live in the area, pleaded not guilty after their arrests last week. They remained in jail without bail, according to jail records.
Hopkins was scheduled to appear in court Thursday, when he will ask for bail, said his attorney, Vikas Bajaj, the station reported.
In court Monday, Bajaj disputed the timing of the “hobo hunting” text, saying it was sent 12 hours after the shooting, the station reported.
He described Hopkins as “a good kid with a warm heart.”
Attorneys for Innes and Hopkins did not immediately respond to requests for comment from NBC News.
The San Diego County medical examiner’s office determined Pershal’s death was a homicide. The cause of death is pending, and the office is “still working on the case,” county spokesperson Chuck Westerheide Jr. said.
Homicides by air-powered guns are rare. “The literature on air weapon deaths yielded only three murders in the United States,” a 2019 study by the journal Clinical Practice and Cases in Emergency Medicine found.
Pershal's death comes as the city's homeless — a population that has grown beyond 10,000 — face crackdowns by police.
Responding to complaints about blocklong encampments on sidewalks and in front of businesses, the city has taken the hard-line approach, seen in Los Angeles and elsewhere, of essentially outlawing "unsafe camping" outdoors.
People living on the streets also continue to be victimized. In Los Angeles last year, nearly 1 in 4 murder victims was homeless, NBC Los Angeles found.
The state has set aside at least $12 billion to address homelessness.
Residents and patrons of the area where Pershal, known as Granny Annie, was found unresponsive told NBC San Diego she lived on the streets there for at least seven years.

LADY GAGA ON “JOKER II” SET IN MOTHER, SAINT LAURENT & YAYOI KUSAMA x LOUIS VUITTON
I just returned from my holiday retreat only to be surprised with a couple of sightings of Lady Gaga on the “Joker II” set! So let’s waste no time and let’s tackle them down together, shall we?
On March 26th Gaga was spotted leaving the set after a full day of filming. LG finally discovered the Los Angeles-based cult denim label MOTHER, what is known for proudly partnering with local businesses and manufacturers in the production of all denim styles.
She chose to rock their Swooner skinny blue denim jeans with frayed edges, signature “M” stitching on the backpockets and a high-rise fit ($248).
Shop:
MOTHER “Swooner” Jeans ($248.00)
Now to all the accessories! For eyewear, she rocked the KOMONO x Tom Eerebout M Whiskey Coke sunglasses. Unfortunately, they sold out.
Her scarf is a 2014 throwback! This plaid wool scarf with fringe trim is from Saint Laurent’s Fall/Winter 2014 menswear collection.
The second designer collaboration in this post comes in form of a handbag from the viral Yayoi Kusama and Louis Vuitton collection. This marks the second collaborative capsule collection from the late Japanese artist and French fashion house. You might remember Gaga rocking pieces from their first collection more than a decade ago!
LG carried the whimsical Capucines bag made from Taurillon bull pebbled calf leather with 3D painted dots print

LOVE + FEAR TOUR: OLIMA & WESTWOOD
In the first chapter of our “Love + Fear” Tour fashion story, we looked at the impeccable designs LA-based Maggie Barry created for our girl’s fourth promotional tour. This time, we’re gonna take a look at the all the super fun corset costumes Marina wore!
We’re starting off strong with a custom set by OLIMA. The detailed corset top and matching silky shorts were custom-made by the Los Angeles-based costume designer in various colors and prints. The first one in plain teal!
All of Marina’s jewelry here is signed by Sylvia Toledano. She wore the Petite Candy hoops in gold brass with turquoise, turquoise verte, cornaline, yellow onyx, amethyst, died ruby and moonstone...
...the Fall/Winter 2019 Lee long necklace with multicolored stones which she wrapped twice around her neck...
...and the Byzantine cuff with green turquoise, dried ruby, turquoise, amethyst, cornaline, green onyx, tiger eye, yellow onyx, black onyx and calcedoine.
Her shoes, which match her co-ord perfectly, are Nike’s Air Max 1 Ultra Moire women’s sneakers in white leather and teal suede.
For many other tour dates, Marina opted for a pink version of the same ensemble! This one features some ruching along the sides of the corset and a subtle fringe trim along the hem of her shorts.
You should instantly recognize these stunners by now. These pink Jelly hoops belong to the “Loucite” collection of Alison Lou!
Our girl also added on some golden accessories from Lilith by Sita. First up, the Sita snake thin choker in brass.
Not to forget, her Sita gold-plated brass snake charm and chain belt!
Marina loves being comfortable on stage! So a pair of the Nike Huarache sneakers in full white completed the look.
The cutest corset ever is this white & blue silk one that features a printed photo of Marina’s two fur kittens Mavis and Jupiter! She also wore some high-waisted lace-up silk shorts.
For some other tour dates, Marina opted for this rich purple silk co-ord set with green paintbrush stroke-esque bits...
...which she matched with the Tuleste chartreuse marabou pom-pom dangle earrings.
For her show in Austin (TX), Marina debuted a white silk corset with coral & gold abstract jacquard front, and high-waisted mini skirt with two slits.
She accessorized with her beloved Chanel gold-tone metal diamond-shaped textured CC logo clip earrings…
...and the gold sunburst logo necklace, another vintage treasure from the French maison. Also, the aforementioned Lilith by Sita choker.
One of the most iconic looks from her tour is the Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 1988 “Pagan I” collection boned silk corset featuring the iconic pink teddy bear.
Her billowy silk ruffle shorts are custom-made by OLIMA.
The second Vivienne Westwood silk corset comes from the Fall/Winter 1992 “Always on Camera” collection and features a collie print with 3D bow at the front. It was sourced at Paparazzi 2000 Vintage.

Pics of the the goodies I got on the final day of Los Angeles Comic Con, part two because the first post didn't save to drafts like it should have and my phone keeps refusing to take and save photos. Going to try to put this under a readmore because it's a long post but if it doesn't work then oh well.
Mandalorian print, now with added Aidan Bertola.
Little Leia funko signed by Vivien Lyra Blair. Both the kids were awesome and I hope life brings them nothing but happiness.
The Japanese movie guides that I bought. One of the Rogue One one's even came with a really cool mini poster. Partner wanted the Return of the Jedi one because it's their favorite of the series.
Daniel Logan signed my Star Wars Insider collected Mandalorian edition. He even took a picture of the cover because he wants to find one. We talked for a bit while they were finishing setting up the booth and he shook my hand. I had a lot of fun with this one. Also bonus pic of the 3D printed lightsaber with orange blade and the wiggly dragon I got because I had to.
I finally made myself go get Jim Cummings autograph. He is the voice of so many of my favorite characters growing up and even now. I don't know why I kept putting it off but I didn't this time and I'm so glad I did. The print is by Blue Egg Adventures and was honestly perfect.
And finally, the piece that started this whole crazy weekend. I got Hayden Christensen to sign the same print as Ewan McGregor. This will eventually get framed but for now it's probably one of my favorite things. I'll never have a chance like this again.
This was a very crazy weekend but it was so worth it. I'm in a lot of pain and something is majorly wrong with my phone but I'm very glad I went. My personal mini Star Wars Celebration is over for now.
#birdy's convention adventures#the glorious goody haul is complete#not sure if I'll go next year because of health and money reasons#but it's always a possibility#even though i keep saying this will be my last convention we all know i lie a lot about things like this#especially if more star wars people show lmao

Norman F. Barber General Contractor Los Angeles (Photo taken by Rachel Hughes on April 14, 2024 around Downtown Los Angeles)
In 1912, Norman designed a garage and stable for Richardson, Holmes & Lamb Co., which was constructed by Barber-Bradley Const Co. I'm guessing Barber was the Barber in that company. In the same year, Barber was one of two architects for a concrete store and loft building in downtown Los Angeles for Alexander Meyer, again built by Barber-Bradley. Barber-Bradley were located at 1824 East 15th St. (Southwest Contractor and Manufacturer, Volume 10, Engineers and Architects Association of Southern California, 1912 and Engineering News, Volume 69, McGraw-Hill Publishing Company, 1913). In 1909 they were located at 212 W. 3d. (Engineering World: A Weekly Technical Journal of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, mining and Architectural Engineering and Construction, Volume 5, Engineering World Publishing Company, 1907 and Brown, Charles Carroll. Directory of American Cement Industries, Municipal Engineering, 1909). They filed for incorporation on August 1, 1906 in Los Angeles (pg. 36, Annual Report of the Secretary of State, California Secretary of State, California State Printing Office, 1908). By 1907, they were already working on some big projects, like "erecting a manufacturing plant at 2620 Lacy St." for Talbert-Whitmore Co. (Engineering World, March 29, 1907).
In the 1913 Los Angeles City Directory, Barber is listed as a draftsman who lived at 4342 S Flower (Los Angeles Directory Co., Inc., accessed via LAPL).
In 1917, Barber-Bradley was "awarded the general contract ... for the erection of a brick and concrete school building at West Vernon and Olive Sts. in accordance with plans and specifications by Archt. W.C. Pennell." This year also has the only bid I see Barber-Bradley lost! They were not selected to build the "training quarters and bleachers at the new Los Angeles High School site" Some other projects from this year: remodeling the Eisner & Co. store in the Hayward Hotel building, including all work except for tile flooring and including but not limited to "plate and prism glass and marble fronts, mahogany finish and fixtures;" "repairing the fire damage to the 1-story brick warehouse on San Fernando St., opposite the Southern Pacific freight depot, for the Union Warehouse Company; "fitting up a room at 330 S. Main St. for a barber ship (sic);" erecting a brick and concrete school building on the 24th St. school site; and "alterations to Miller's Theatre at Ninth and Main Sts" such as adding a store room adjoining the lobby and a women's bathroom (Southwest Builder and Contractor, Volume 50, F. W. Dodge Company, 1917).
In 1919, Norman was a 'member' of Geo. F. Barber, Sons & Co, a general contracting business located at 4342 S. Flower St. The other member was George F. Barber, which I am guessing was his father (Southwest Builder and Contractor, F.W. Dodge Company, 1919).
Barber lost a bid to build Inglewood's new city hall building to W. M. Bell (Building and Engineering News, Volume 23, Issue 1, 1923) .
Norman F. Barber was the original owner and contractor of the 2-storey single residence at 2615 N. Commonwealth Avenue (Los Feliz Improvement Association Historical Residential Survey 3rd Edition Volume IV: Streets Beginning with Cl to Cu, Los Feliz Improvement Association, 2019).
There was a Norman F. Barber who wrote "Directional recording of swell from distant storms" with Walter H. Munk, Gaylor R. Miller, and Frank E. Snodgrass, as listed in Scripps Institution of Oceanography Contributions Index Vols. 1-39, 1938-1969.
In 1938, "approximately 25 tons of asbestos per month [were] mined from the Canadian mine, located near Chrysotile, Arizona, under the direction of Norman F. Barber, lessee, Box 1010, Globe, Arizona" by four men. The property was owned by the Globe-Los Angeles Mining Company (The Mining Journal for July 15, 1938).
Norman supervised the construction "of 100 unites for Marble Manor Housing, a Public Housing Authority project in Las Vegas, Nev." (Western Construction, Volume 27, King Publications, 1952).
