Bucky x Reader Imagine
He had decided to take himself to a museum that was unlike any others he had been to. He goes to the 'twist' museum early, hoping that there would be less visitors and he was correct.
At the front desk the elderly lady squints her eyes at him and asks "single ticket?" He nods and she goes "most of the illusions need two." Oh. Bucky spends a second working out if it is worth just going in and watching others or if that is creepy and he should leave when she continues on. "But that's okay.. Y/N!"
You walk around the corner, dressed in the same uniform as the older lady except... Well the uniform looks good on you. His eyes scan you (as they would anyone else, as he was trained) and he finds you strikingly attractive.
"Yeah Linda?" You smiled sweetly at the lady, eyes flickering between the two.
"Are you able to help this gentleman through the museum? He's by himself."
You nod, suspicion laced in your slight frown. "Okay, but you'll let me know if you need me back yeah?"
You and Bucky slowly walk through the entrance and through the "no colour" segment. "You're lucky because you don't have to read the info. They use lights that cancel eachother out and display this yellow hue- oh sorry unless you wanted to read the signs."
Bucky shakes his head looking down at his red shirt which was now a monotone yellow, like his jeans and skin. You were dosed in the same yellow but still breathtaking. "I won't say no to a guided tour." He tries to joke.
You smile and lead him to the one zone where one of the four lights turns off - bringing back colour to the world. "Where's your phone?" He hands it over wordlessly. "Right, c'mon handsome give me a smile, in three, two-"
The light turned off and you took a few photos, he didn't really smile for them but that was up to him. You revealed one of the photos and showed that behind him was an array of 'balloons' (they were fake but they looked the part) some of which now had colour to them like his face and shoulders. The rest were blank and yellow.
You were about to lead him away when he stopped you. "Do you not want a photo?"
No of course you don't want a photo, you don't need one, you're here all the time. But his eyes - which you knew to be blue - were gazing into your soul and he adopted a shy smirk. "I guess we could update the website." You stood waiting for him to take the photo smiling and then sticking your tongue out.
Bucky and you walked for ages throughout the museum. It was a brilliant little pop up thing and he really enjoyed the illusions. There was a photo of strawberries he was convinced was red but you told him it was the way his mind worked. He knew they were red in real life when in this picture they were gray-scale. There was another picture on the wall that you had to wear different colours glasses to see the images underneath. Red was his favourite and blue was yours. A lot of not straight looking lines and rulers underneath them sparked a debate between the two of you. Rooms that shone with thousands of colours making you look angelic. Rooms that housed a series of tubes and when one put their head through it, inside was thousands of mirrors. Thousands of himself reflected against the led lights and on the other end you were there laughing at his reaction. You were the prettiest kaleidescope. There was a room where if you stood in one place and he the other you looked humongous and he was tiny (that might've been his favourite photo merely because he looked minuscule). And a room where if you sat on the floor and he stood ten feet forward he could pat your head and it looked like you were tiny sitting on a chair. The "most hi-tech part of the museum" was ball with a chair in. You told him to sit still and pressed a button and the ball lit up snapping photos from every angle. The photos collected to make a 3D image of himself. It turned in a circle but never looked like it was the back of him. His face was always pronounced and always facing forward. He made you do one too. Now you passed that part there were more electronic screens with illusions, a room for sound illusions and more "wonky rooms".
You were heading towards the gift shop and exit when you spoke a small "thank you. Sorry you had to put up with me, Linda is always trying to set me up but this has actually been enjoyable." You blushed. "I only mean sometimes people are weird. And you haven't been. And I'm rambling."
Bucky nodded along, wondering how many people you had to walk through this museum. He doubted it was a lot, but he still felt a strange pang of jealousy. "I hope it's not too weird to ask for your number - I have a few nice pics of you on here." He raised his phone, which had gotten more use in the past hour than it had in the past month. "For your website, of course."
You took his phone with ease and put your number into it. "I have some nice photos of you too, merely for your enjoyment."
You both chuckle and slowly part ways wishing you didn't have to.
.
.
When Bucky showed Steve the photos the other man teased him about looking happy and he was right. Bucky was actually smiling in these photos but it wasnt a wonder as to why.. not when someone so pretty was holding the camera.
.
.
A week later you texted him, unexpectedly.
Y/N: hope you don't mind... I might've used a photo of us on the website
Bucky: What one?
Y/N: the one where I'm massive and you're baby
Bucky: I love that one
Y/N: yeah, I think it's cute
Y/N: but I just wanted to let ya know, yakno?
Bucky: Thank you.
.
.
A week later he texted you, unexpectedly.
Bucky: Saw this and thought of you. (With an attachment of a magic eye poster)
Y/N: omg I love those, but I can hardly ever see them!!!!
Bucky: You work in an illusion museum!
Y/N: ik, it's heartbreaking!
.
.
Y/N: I'm not a massive creep
Bucky: Go on
Y/N: turn to the right
Bucky looked up from his spot in the park. He came here a lot, sitting on the same bench, just to be alone.
There you were. Standing smiling at him with a small wave. You were wearing jeans and a white button up shirt, your hair was tied up neatly and you had sunglasses on.
"hey!" You smirked, taking a seat next to him.
"hi." He replied, still in shock. "How you been?"
"Alright, just came from an interview." You raised your crossed fingers. "Here's hoping."
"You didn't like the museum?"
"I loved it but it's only a pop up." You took the sunglasses off. "It'll be ending next week."
That was a shame. "Where was your interview?"
"The Smithsonian." You folded your legs. "I know I know, one museum to another, what a party animal I am."
He and you fell into an easy conversation which lasted all night. You only stopped because your stomach growled and you sheepishly asked if he was hungry. He would follow you anywhere so of course he was hungry.

Better Now
Nanami x Reader
Considering your husband's predictable habits, any deviation from the norm would raise some eyebrows.
So, being caught off guard is understandable as you spot Nanami standing in the hallway waiting to take his staff yearbook photo. Instead of his typical tan and blue outfit, he dawned a sharp black suit, which made an impression.
"Christ."
He wore his green-tinted glasses for the first time in a while, the black patch usually covering his eye now being held between his forefingers. The idle way he toyed with the string gave you your answer before even speaking up.
"You look very handsome, Nanami." the sound of your heels approaching brought him out of his head.
"Thank you, Mrs. Nanami." Flat. Flatter than usual. He wrapped the strings up, placing the patch in the inside pocket of his suit. "Did you get your first years settled? I heard talk of outfit offenders."
"It was the lack of clothes." you stood directly in front of Kento, considering straightening his tie. "2 boys tried taking their pictures shirtless, and one young lady snuck a Kaneki eye patch mask on last minute."
"Did you scold her?"
"Was just a mask. And it was Zenin, anyway. Her wanting to cover her face was understandable."
Nanami huffed a laugh out, watching your hands work to fix his tie.
"Thank you."
You kissed his lips before stepping back, and your hand settled over his cheeks. It took a while, but Kento no longer flinched as you touched him.
His visible burn scars were about 90% healed. Thanks to compressive masks made via 3D printing, Kento could hide the facial wound while healing for the first eight months.
The scars had matured with fine indentions and webbed patterns across his face. While they weren't incredibly fibrous or thick, they were noticeable. And he wasn't a vain man, but Kento was thankful they weren't a complete 'monstrosity' as this was the first time he'd be showing his entire face to the outside world since the incident; there was no concealing himself.
The light contact of your palm brought his stress levels down as always.
"I know you smelt the alcohol. It was a few sips before I got here."
"I know."
"It was with Ieiri."
"I know."
He took his glasses off, slipping them into his breast pocket.
"She called you."
Fiddling in your purse, you fished out the dark metal case.
"Just to let me know you were on campus already and that you wanted your prosthetic."
The warmth of his fingers danced across your wrist as he took the case from your hand. "Thank you, love of my life."
"Anytime." His lips joined yours again like magnets as he brought you closer. "Are you gonna be okay if I go?"
A few reasons came to mind why he'd never be okay when you weren't next to him. But if Kento wanted to get his money's worth therapy-wise and get entirely into solo exposure therapy, he could get through this with a few camera clicks and a meeting without you.
"Go ahead. I'll grab dinner on the way home once I finish here."
With a soft smile, you squeezed his arm before kissing his cheek. "See you at home."
The evening wore on, and you hadn't heard from Kento.
It's not entirely unusual, you thought. But it's almost 10 p.m., and surely his meeting wasn't that long. "I'll just call Shoko."
Six rings, no answer.
Gojo. Same thing.
"I'd hate to bother Itadori, but maybe he knows." As you dialed, a call from Ino popped up.
"Hello? Takuma?"
"Sorry to call so late in the evening, Mrs. Nanami. But Gojo told me to give you a call."
That sick feeling waded through your thoughts. "What's wrong? Where are you?"
"Sorry. I should've started that better. Nanami is okay, and everything is okay."
"Has Nanami been drinking?"
"No, I promise. We left our meeting, and he just wanted to drive, so Gojo and I followed him until we lost him." The sound of Gojo talking about pineapple-flavored sorbet leaked into the speaker from the background.
" Gojo guessed, and now we're at the Shibuya station. At the mart across from it."
Holding the phone, Ino mumbled something to someone nearby before talking to the receiver again. "Nanami says he'll be home soon and that he is sorry for worrying you and being forced to talk to me like I'm his handler."
"You just saved me from a heart attack, so no need for an apology in any way. Thank you.”
"Have a good night, Mrs. Nanami."
"Be Safe, Ino. Good night."
When you and Kento went couch shopping, you were adamant about plush, oversized cushions. "Think about movie nights. Napping on our days off. OH! Or parallel play!" You tried upselling the cloud couch, as the cheery salesman said, was an absolute steal.
Always practical and only buying out of necessity, Kento agreed to the cloud couch as long as it made you happy and you kept the cushions plush.
Most late nights, like this one, were spent on said couch. Kentos' first five weeks out of the hospital were spent camping in the living room. Listening to his half-baked ideas while he fought sleep to avoid the impending traumatic night terrors of the worst day of his life.
"Honey?" He wriggled his feet out of his shoes and entered the living room. The soft glow from reruns of Jeopardy cast a gentle light across the walls as you slept soundly.
"Darling. I'm home." smooth knuckles ran the length of your arm.
Sleep in your eyes as you bat your lashes, trying to focus. "Ken, what time is it." fatigue coated your voice.
"It's late; I'm sorry." With your eyes still not entirely focused, you could make out Kento taking his button-down off and lying next to you on the chaise section of the sofa. He rested his head near your chest, holding you like a kite on a windy spring afternoon.
Wrapping your arms around him as best you could, you rubbed his back. Silent except for Alex Trebek giving Pamela her 'Potpourri, it could be anything!' question for 600. Nothing was said, but everything was understood in the quietude.
"I saw Yu that night. During the accident."
Your hold tensed, bringing Kento closer until it was impossible.
"It was like a figment of him. He was fading from me.." shakiness saturated his usual warm tone.
"Ken."
"Like he was there warding off death. I wasn't supposed to die, and Haibara ensured it."
A sniffle brought your face closer to his, remaining mute during the spewing emotions.
"So much time has passed that I am forgetting his face, and I have to live, slowly forgetting his youth. I can't. I- I don't want that."
Wiping the tears as they rushed Kento's cheeks, you kissed his forehead.
"Haibara is eternal. And we will keep his spirit and love alive in all that we do."
The emotions were discernible, and Kento leaned into them wholly. Moments passed before he huffed and took a deep breath attempting to shake whatever emotions hung back.
"Finding a way to celebrate him would be good. Maybe light candles, and I'll dig out those high school photos."
"An altar? We can do that. We can grab some flowers and candles tomorrow to properly memorialize him."
The TV's fluorescent lighting flicked off with the timer, allowing the silver sheen from the moon to blanket your joined bodies.
"Thank you. For life. For your love."
"You have me and my love forever, Ken."
Kento rested his head on your chest, contentment flooding his mind, closing his eyes as your warmth brought him to slumber's door.
Love you and thank you for reading 💕

fell down the book of bill rabbithole and immediately became obsessed with euclidia, so here's me throwing out my own theory about bill's backstory:
I don't think bill's parents were red and blue triangles
at least, not while they were alive.
one of bill's listed phobias is 3d glasses. idk about you, but when i think of 3d glasses, i think of these.
Tumblr media
and it feels like there must be something to that, right? you use these red and blue glasses to turn a 2d screen into a 3d effect. Maybe this was how he tried to show his people the third dimension.
The problem, of course, is that in order for these glasses to work, you have to turn this:
Tumblr media
into this
Tumblr media
The same picture, layered over itself.
One red.
One blue.
It's also worth noting, I think, that there's a lot of details that suggest euclidia was in some ways similar to an analog tv (the glitching effect you see on all computer entries related to bill's life in euclidia, the way it's described like an old school side scrolling video game)
the way early color TVs worked was, they would display three images at once. one red, one green, one blue, and the combination of those three images would create a full color image. so for bill to achieve the red and blue anaglyphic effect...
imagine someone deletes every neutron in your body, and then displaces all your electrons about three inches to the right.
last piece of evidence, and note that i think this one is more symbolic than literal.
on the pages where bill talks about what happened to euclidia, there are some background images, that, to me at least—
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
—look an awful lot like prisms.
We all know what prisms do to light, right?
Tumblr media
:/
tl;dr i think bill's parents weren't necessarily red and blue. I think they just looked like that after he decomposed them (and presumably everything else) into their constituent colors.
EDIT:

Maybe the venetian blinds thing is also related to his blood? When we look at the picture of Bill blood sample it kind of looks like sunlight going through blinds.
Feels like a reach.
His blood/wounds also look staticky, and old CRT TVs often had faint horizontal bars of light like that, especially when they were displaying static:
Tumblr media
So I think it more likely that that's the source of the visual effect.
And even if it is venetian blinds, that would beg the question "so why does Bill's blood look like venetian blinds? That's a weird thing for blood to look like without any explanation for it." And if that IS what his blood looks like, I think your suggested cause & effect is backwards: he isn't scared of venetian blinds because they look like blood; his blood displays a venetian blinds pattern because he's scared of them.
Overall, it doesn't smell of authorial intent. "He's scared of TV static because he hears Euclidean voices in it" seems like something Alex would do. "He's scared of 3D glasses either because it reminds him of his parents or because of his preoccupation with seeing the 3D world," I'm on the record as saying I think it's silly, but it does seem like something Alex would do. But "he's scared of Venetian blinds because he sees them in his blood" doesn't.
The trouble is we're all trying to work our way backwards to an explanation. We're going "what could you use to justify a Venetian blinds phobia?" "can you use XYZ to justify a Venetian blinds phobia?" And yeah yeah sure there's a lot of stuff you can make up to justify a Venetian blinds phobia. Making up explanations is easy, and making up an explanation that has some kind of tie back to canon isn't that much harder. But that probably ain't what Alex did! He didn't start out going "I want him to have a Venetian blinds phobia; how can I justify that?" Instead, he went "I already have XYZ on his character; what might logically result from XYZ? Maybe a Venetian blinds phobia."
We're looking for something that already exists in the lore that could easily make you think of Venetian blinds, even if you didn't already know that he had a Venetian blinds phobia.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!! 🥳 I'm turning 28 years old, my god! I wanted to give you something, as a thank you for the support I've been getting here ❤️
This here is a sim that I made for the Sour Legacy Challenge, which I recommend you all to check out! Sadly all I've done was make this sim... I'm still waiting, and hoping, that we'll get actual bands in the game someday *sigh* She's a teen, I would say she's 16 or older, that's why she has piercings 😅 Also, if her parents are around, I picture them as being permissive, because the challenge requires her to drop out of high school at some point. In a way, she's everything I wanted to be as a teen, and isn't that what the sims is for? To live a dream? 😆
I'm also going to be seeing Olivia Rodrigo this next month, and if you don't know, the Sour Legacy Challenge is based on her album Sour. The excitement just made me want to pick this sim up again, and give her a quick makeover. The song that inspired this sim was Brutal, although I had the first lyric of Boys & Girls by Conan stuck in my head while I was making her.

"Go ahead, try them on." The redheaded girl handed me the faux spectacles, with their oddly tinted lenses.
"And these will help enhance the movie? Can you do 3D in your basement?" I held up the glasses skeptically. The thin film lenses were tinted a dark wine red. Nondescript cardboard frames held the cheap accessory together. I'd never been a big fan of gimmicky 3D effects in movies in the first place, but when a cute girl asks you on a movie night date at her place, you don't exactly say no.
"My projector is pretty cutting edge. But if you don't like the effects, you can always take them off. Now come on down and I'll introduce you to the girls." Girls? I had assumed this was just a one-on-one date, but maybe that was wishful thinking. I followed my host, Ambry, downstairs and into her den. Her house was quite impressive but I'd been led to believe after our brief conversation that she was pretty successful in the financial field, so it wasn't the greatest shock. It certainly made me feel a bit out of my league as I descended the elaborately ornamental spiral stairs into a large open room with a projector that probably cost more than I made in a year hanging from the ceiling. A large wrap-around couch wreathed the back and side walls of the room, and up front was a stark white wall with a screen and speakers. It was truly a dream room for a fan of films like myself.
Ambry introduced me to her friends, a tall blonde girl named Liette and a shorter girl with curly black hair, Jasper. The two women smiled as I entered the room, and I immediately noticed their bodies pressed against each other, lips still wet from what I could only assume was an intense kiss my arrival had interrupted.
"So this is the new girl, hm? She's very pretty, Ambie~" Jasper appraised me rather flirtatiously from her spot on the couch. Liette nodded along, staring into my eyes as my face lit up bright red. The compliments were, well... unexpected. But quite welcome as the two girls seemed to drink in my body.
"S-so what are we watching" I managed to stammer, hoping to change the subject quickly as the intense gazes of the two ladies gave me chills.
"Ambie never tells her guests what she's picked out. It's sort of tradition!" Liette practically sung her response. "Why don't you come sit next to me? I'd love to hold your hand if it's too scary, darling~"
"No, no, she should sit with me. I bet she has the cutest laugh if it's a comedy." Jasper patted the soft leather next to her and I almost couldn't help but feel drawn to her side. But a sudden hand on my shoulder made me freeze with a start.
"She'll be sitting with me, ladies. I invited her. She's all mine." The seductive whisper in my ear from Ambry practically overloaded my mind right there. Perhaps I was wrong about this being a date after all - it suddenly seemed so much more. Had I been pulled into a secret lesbian orgy without my knowledge? It was like my deepest fantasy, but I never thought it would be real. I could barely comprehend what was happening as our host dimmed the lights and pulled me to the couch along the back wall.
As the film started, I tried to pay attention to the plot, but my mind couldn't focus on the words being said. Instead, my attention was drawn to my host's breathing near my ear. Her arm draped around my shoulder. Her hand on my leg. Her cold body against my arm. I wanted to look at her, to see the expression on her face, but my eyes were glued forward, the strange glasses seemingly pulling my attention to the screen. The action and dialogue of the movie seemed irrelevant as my mind was pulled to the most peculiar details: the cup of wine on the table. The moon through the window. The stain on the carpet. The eyes in the picture frame. The spiraling lights in every scene.
"This is your favorite movie, isn't it thrall?"
"Yes, Mistress" my voice answered back, not waiting for my mind to decide.
"And what's your favorite part, baby?"
"When Mistress feeds."
"Good girl."
And so she did. The pricks in my neck made my eyes flutter as I stared forward. The only color on the screen was red as my blood slowly drained from my veins. Mistress ran her hands through my hair and along my body, claws scraping my skin as I succumbed to her bite. Was this why I came? Had this been the plan from the start? Why was I so relaxed and eager.
"Listen to her moan, girls. She's so far gone."
Had I been moaning? Did they want me to continue? How much blood had she taken? Was I going to die?
I barely noticed Jasper before her teeth sunk into my wrist. She drank and I moaned for her. I knew the tone and volume she loved as if it were instinct. Whatever would keep her satisfied. Keep her feeding.
Liette's teeth sunk into my thigh before I realized that my skirt had been torn, my underwear soaked. Her pale cheek so close to my soft bulge. She reached up and caressed me so tenderly as she sampled from her favorite spot. My moaning changed to song as she controlled my every thought with her bite.
Mistress and her thralls sucked until my eyes could no longer behold the screen through her special frames. I blacked out for unknowable periods of time. Each time I awoke, caressed by soft leather and cold hands and smeared in blood. I felt their tongues lick me clean. Their teeth suck me dry. Their words melt me away.
"I'm done, Mistress" is all I could utter.
"We know, darling. Now rest."

❀ A/N: Hola, in honor of 3D I decided to post the prologue of this thing I have been working on while on hiatus as a cool project to inspire myself to write again. I have no idea what I’m doing, but I am writing this story as though it were sort of a ... famous person tells all. 98% of the story will be in the present tense and we read it as if it's happening, with small interludes of present-day where reader is reflecting on her life in an interview with Namjoon. I have no idea if I will stick with it, so please be patient and let me write this at whatever pace works best for me. And remember - there are going to be very dark parts of this series, and Jungkook and reader both are going to have very ugly moments. If that’s not your cup of tea and you do not like to see characters epically fail and sometimes reveal the ugly parts of themselves, this fic is not for you.
❀ Disclaimer: All members of BTS are faces and name claims for this story. “In omnia paratus. Ready for anything,” you scoff, shaking your head. “Seems like a pretty big ideal for a teenager. You have to understand, we all felt that way. A bunch of kids working for the same dream, ready to push, shove, claw our way to it.”
Namjoon adjusts his glasses and nods. His long legs are crossed at the ankle as he leans back in his seat, the perfect picture of poise. His glasses are low on his nose and he’s dressed in a warm cardigan today to fight off the chill of Autumn.
“Was it really competitive?” he prompts, fingers laced together. “What was that like?”
“It’s hard to say. I viewed it through the lens of a kid at the time. I guess to me it would have felt like a game - be better than everyone else, get a reward.”
“And now, through the lens of an adult.”
You heave a sigh and blow out air. You're in the comfort of your home up in the hills, a fireplace crackling to your left. The production crew thankfully didn’t fuss with your living room too much. It was perfect the way it was, muted tones and lived in, not some minimal, sterile space like Seokjin might have or the maximalist terror of Taehyung’s estate.
“Now,” you venture, slowly stringing the words together. “I think it was where I learned to take no prisoners and to do whatever I had to do to win. Being that close to your dream, and meeting the legends you want to imitate while living in constant fear it might be taken away… it creates a feral desire in you. Feeds the monster inside the kid that has just started to wake up.”
“Would you say that’s where the hardship began?”
You shake your head. “Not the kind that we’re here to talk about. It wasn’t like - I wasn’t a child star, you know? I was still relatively normal. It was school and working on dancing and singing and all of these things because I wanted to produce music and it was hard, but it wasn’t… It wasn't cruel. It wasn’t dark.”
“When would you say is when it first really started to turn for you?” Namjoon asks, leaning forward a bit. “The first moment you can remember that you might have taken that first step towards everything.”
“In omnia paratus,” you murmur again. You think about that night, gaze unfocused. You no longer see Namjoon, but rather a shock of shaggy, black hair, doe eyes filled with promise, and an arm full of tattoos. “Ready for anything but Jungkook, apparently.”
Namjoon raises his brows. “So the night you met Jungkook?”
“In nihil paratus. I was ready for nothing, least of all the likes of fucking Jeon. That was the first night my management ever asked me to do something extreme. So I did.”
“Tell me about that night, then.”
You remember it so well. You’re not sure how out of all the memories, this one seems so preserved. Crystal clear and sharp at the edges. You remember the tight, white shirt Jungkook was wearing, tucked into dark jeans paired with boots. His tattoos were stark against his shirt and his hair was wavy, a little damp with sweat.
Jungkook had looked at you from across the event floor, an ocean swimming with swaying bodies and flashing lights, cryogenic fog hanging in the air. You’d just walked in, careful not to trip in your stilettos as you walked down the steps. Nervous. Near cracking under pressure.
And then you looked up, right at those round, dark eyes.
In nihil paratus. You were ready for nothing.

random question but how is your cat doing? she is so cute I want to have a cat so much 😭
Ah yes yes, you came here for the ever-enticing Yuki update!
Well, she's being a baby, as usual. Here's a photo from when she was a little sick (nothing serious, just a runny nose).
Tumblr media
And here she is, under the blanket and my legs while I draw.
Tumblr media
Pictured here is the wall-licker drinking the dog's water, because she's reached that age where cats simply refuse to drink their own water and will instead bother you until you let them drink from a bottle cap or your glass. They just do that, I guess...
She knows I'm there, that's why her ears are pinned back.
Tumblr media
And here she is looking like an absolute creecher, because she simply had to see what I was doing even if the light was probably hurting her eyes.
Tumblr media
Finally, here is the furbeast, wearing a fancy little bead necklace made for me by a girl where I'm doing my internship.
Tumblr media
(The red ruined thing is my poor 3DS.)

Headcanons for techfolk vision
Cameras
As we can see from the episodes themselves, Cam vision is very similar to human vision! One way it differs is that when Cams are physically hit or shocked, their vision greys out with scanlines and other artefacts.
You can see a real-life example of this in this video, in which a skydriver drops a video camera and it keeps recording until it lands (in a pig pen!)
youtube
As the camera tumbles, it spins faster than its sensors can keep up with, resulting in the video turning into a series of diagonal lines. Most digital cameras record in a 'sweep', going from one edge or corner to the opposite one. It looks as though this camera records in a diagonal sweep.
This also means that Cameramen possibly don't see things like propellors and hummingbird wings as a blur, as we do - they'd see it as a choppy effect, depending on how the movement syncs with the Cameraman's framerate.
Here's a bird appearing to hover perfectly because its wings happen to match the camera's shutter speed:
youtube
As far as Cameramen are concerned, that's probably just how birds are! They don't see bird wings as a flippa-flappa or propellors as a rounda-rounda blur.
Presumably, Cameramen cannot perceive the chimerical colours, which are colours humans can see thanks to how our retinas form afterimages:
Soundkind
I headcanon that Soundkind primarily perceive the world through echolocation. It's not really possible for humans to grasp what this 'looks' like. We've all heard of Thomas Nagel's essay 'What is it like to be a bat?' But at least a bat is a mammal like us, so it'll have mostly the same neural pathways as us. It's not outside the realms of possibility that bats 'see' the world in the same colours as us, but the colours are triggered in the brain's perception by wavelengths of sound rather than light. But Soundkind aren't even animals! Who knows how a tech brain processes this data?
I also headcanon that the Soundkind can see with light to a degree, just not as well as a human, Cameraman or TVman. Their vision is low-res and is heavy on the reds (hence their use of red as an emblematic colour), similar to a human with tritanomaly.
Here's Tri-Cam, approximately as a human or Cameraman would perceive them (from this SketchFab model):
Tumblr media
Here's how Soundkind might 'see' Tri-Cam with echolocation. (I took the 'matcap + surface' version of the model to get just the contours without textures, then noodled with it a little in GIMP.)
Tumblr media
Here's a scene approximately how a human or Cameraman would perceive it (source):
Tumblr media
And how it might look to a Soundkind using their visual processing - mainly red (achieved using a tritanopia simulator), and low resolution:
Tumblr media
Here's another 3D model, a bit more colourful than Tri-Cam, as a human or Cameraman might perceive it (source):
Tumblr media
Putting together the above info, here's how a Soundkind might perceive it using their echolocation overlaid with their optical vision:
Tumblr media
TVs
TVs are primarily optic-based, like humans and Cameras. Their vision overlaps less with the human range than the Cameramen's vision does. TVs see further into the infra-red than humans and Cams (unless said Cams have specialised thermal vision), and their vision has much more of a purple cast, hence their use of purple as an emblematic colour.
TVs can see even in complete darkness (by our standards), because everything above absolute zero gives off IR radiation. However, an environment of absolutely uniform temperature would appear blank, because there would be no differences in IR for the TVman to see. In addition, TVs can't see the temperature of stuff behind glass - they would only see the temperature of the glass itself (same as the limitations for real thermal cameras).
My infra-red headcanon is purely based on the fact that TV remotes are usually IR-based (more modern ones use Bluetooth).
...I don't have a speculative image to show, because to my surprise I couldn't find good quality pictures online of the same scene taken with RGB and with thermal (so I can combine them the way I want them). They were all either postage stamp-sized or they didn't align properly. Hopefully you can imagine something!
This video shows something a bit like what I'm thinking of:
youtube
The video shows that the thermal cam has something called 'MSX', which combines the thermal image with the light image, giving you the thermal imaging info combined with the surface patterns from the light imaging info. However, my headcanon is closer to 'human vision (but a bit more purple) combined with a black-hot greyscale thermal image', as opposed to the purple and yellow mess seen here.

❀ building 13 movie theater headcanons !! ❀
YURRRR !! went to da movies earlier today so i kept imagining specific nanbaka characters in like cinema situations :P cinemations...cinetuations...?? YEAH-
rock is finding a way to smuggle in an outrageous amount of snacks. bro's got candy in his sleeves and chips in his pockets. originally only brought them for himself but ofc the rest of cell 13 beg him for a bite and he lets them cus thats just who he is. despite how much food he brought in he still finds himself missing the beginning of the movie bc he couldn't resist the heavenly scent of overpriced popcorn
nico is a slushy FANATIC. mixin' all the flavors, dumping candies in it n shit. totally the kid in the back of the movie theater slurping the last drop out of the cup hella loud when a quiet, tense moment is going down in a film. hajime's annoyed but stares daggers at anyone who tries to shush him. NICO'S FAV SLUSHY FLAVOR IS THE RED CHERRY ONE !!
uno, bless his heart, is absolutely the person who tries to predict the movie's plot before and during it. and the bad part is he's usually right. also the kinda guy to be scarily good at guessing what the characters are gonna say next lol
jyugo actually likes the movies more than you'd expect. always pockets the 3d glasses just cus he thinks they're cool and he likes that he can spend time with the rest of cell 13 without a heavy focus on talking or interacting. it's also a bonus that it's dark and he can sleep if he gets bored
it took FOREVERRRR to drag tsukumo out to the movies. hc that he's a much bigger fan of media without human actors in it because it reminds him less of his past, so the movie he went out to see with the rest of them was definitely animated. also likes the dark because it makes him feel stealthy, but he has a bad habit of stepping on each and every piece of popcorn or puddle of nacho cheese in the aisles...also insists on using the photo booth whenever he does hit up the cinema cus despite it all he still really likes getting his picture taken
yamato volunteers to wait on the snacks and carry them in while everyone goes ahead to take a seat in the theater. previews end and the movie is 15 minutes in but he still isn't there. everyone thought it was because the food was taking long to come out, but it's just because he forgot which theater to go to and kept circling until hajime and seitarou found him. prolly has trouble locating which seat to go to on his own cus he finds the letters and numbers confusing and hard to see in the dim light (totally not projecting)
seitarou has perfect movie etiquette and tries to get everyone else to follow his example, usually to no avail. his only problem is that he's too considerate of others and thinks he's being impolite when he's really not. the type to take the smallest bite of his food and tiniest sip of his drink so he doesn't disturb anyone. the kind to walk all the way around to the other side of an aisle because he doesn't wanna ask someone to pull back their seat for him to pass. poor guy, he even double-checked to see if his phone was on do not disturb and got shushed because his brightness was all the way up </3
andddd hajime. he's usually the sponsor for these outings since yamato literally can never find his wallet and seitarou doesn't have the heart to tell the others not to drain his bank account by buying ever concession there is. he doesn't let the inmates go wild with snacks and makes sure they behave properly while in there. uno tries to get the inmates to sneak over to another theater and catch the next showing but hajime catches them and makes them pick up the teensy bits of food they left on the ground. he's also the one who has the final say on what movie they actually go to, and even though he says he checks the ratings and plot beforehand because he "doesn't want to watch a shitty movie", it's actually because he wants it to be worth everyone's time and appeal to all of them at least a little bit. dadjime for the win <3

WORK-IN-PROGRESS : A Secretaire desk
Not really a guide, but can be interesting for those who would like to know how I create an object or a set. Originally I wrote this essay for a course at my uni but I translated and simplified it.
💡☝️ INSPO
The secretaire desk is an iconic piece of Biedermeier furniture. My fascination with the elegant yet straightforward style is beyond measure.
Tumblr media
🧊🕸️ MODELLING
I used Blender for modelling. (I made it when I was still using the old 2.7 version.) The design process for the object consumed a significant amount of my time, spanning a total of three hours.
Tumblr media
After I finish making the model, I need to do something called "unfolding." This means turning the 3D object into a 2D mesh. Once that's done, I "burn" the shadows onto it, which gives it the final look you see below.
Tumblr media
🎨🖌️ TEXTURE
After that, I use the Sims 4 Studio program. This is where I make sure that the object looks right with its texture and I decide how it should act in the game.
To create the special intarsia effect, I use patterns that I've already prepared in Photoshop. I carefully rotate and arrange them until they fit just right. It takes a lot of time, but the final outcome is totally worth it.
Tumblr media
🌐✨ NORMAL & SPECULAR MAP
The Normal map is really important for objects with low levels of detail. It determines how light behaves on different surfaces. With the Normal map, even a surface that looks completely smooth can actually appear uneven when light shines on it. This creates the illusion of more intricate details without slowing down the game's performance.
In the game, they use a simpler version of the Normal map called the Bump map. To make it, I use a plugin in Photoshop and save it in a specific format called .DDS. I have to tweak the channels and choose the right settings to get it just right.
When I apply the Bump map to my Biedermeier writing cabinet with shelves, it creates small shadows at the edges of the shelves when light hits the center. This makes the shelves stand out from the flat surface and adds depth to the object.
Tumblr media
The shine of an object is controlled by the specular map. It determines how reflective the surface appears, whether it's a shiny metal, a glossy glass, or a completely matte material. By adjusting the color values, we can create different types of shine.
In this project, I want to achieve a specific type of shine that looks like wax or honey. Fortunately, I already have a template ready for this. I just need to find it and apply it to the object in the program.
📊📐SIMS 4 STUDIO SETTINGS
After that, I need to make a bunch of tweaks to make sure the object works properly in the game. It involves doing both small and big adjustments. For example, I add tags to make it easy to find in the catalog, figure out how the surface should look, find the right spots where other objects can connect to it, decide where chairs and writing surfaces should go, and more. The first picture shows how things are set up by default, while the second one shows the changes I've made.
Throughout this whole process, I have to carefully figure out the exact positions for different parts using a coordinate system. It can be a bit tiresome and take up a lot of time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
📈 💼 WORK IN PROGRESS
First, I made a work-in-progress picture. This is how I announce the new collection.
Tumblr media
💃🎞️ GIF
In the post, there's a gif that demonstrates various color combinations. Creating this gif involves a careful and detailed process. I have to take individual photos of all 16 color combinations for each of the two cabinets. Afterward, I need to carefully match and merge these photos together. Finally, I use an online Gif maker site to edit and finalize the gif.
Tumblr media
📷🖼️ PREVIEW PIC
I spent a good 2 hours setting up the scene, and it wasn't easy finding the right items and creating the perfect environment. Editing the image also took me another 2 hours, as I paid close attention to every little detail.
Out of the three images you see above, the first one is the default color scheme generated by the game itself. The second image, on the other hand, was created using a program called Reshade. It's an extra tool you have to install separately, and its main purpose is to change the lighting inside the game. It adds depth and creates a whole different atmosphere. As for the third image, that's what it looks like after I adjusted the colors in Photoshop. And finally, I added shadows and highlights to the image to give it a more three-dimensional and immersive feel.
Tumblr media
I hope you enjoyed this post and see you soon. The release date of the set is tomorrow!

hey uh
3D glasses? 3D films? two streams of polarised light being filtered by either lens, creating the illusion of stereopsis?
surely that could only work, as in only be as good as it can, when viewing the screen at a certain angle? like, if the two images are different enough to create adequate stereopsis when viewed straight-on, they’ll look stretched and warped when viewed at an angle, because the exact same information is being displayed on a screen that’s perceived as a different shape to different viewers?
i’m probably wrong, but how am i wrong? is it that this effect does occur, but the angle from which the picture can be seen well enough is wide enough for a full theatre? does the light behave differently so different viewers perceive different pictures for different angles (probably not)? idk

So I don't really know what to do, one of my cresties has decided to not use his hides or the plants he usually uses (he squishes himself behind them while he's sticking to the wall) and he's instead opted to just stick to a small empty piece of glass wall and at first I didn't worry because he would stick his tail to the glass but today his tail was hanging like he had FTS, I've been trying to cluter his tank more ever since he started sleeping there but he doesn't seem to care, he'll just squeeze himself back into the same spot, I've been wanted to get one of those 3d printed hides but I don't really know what size I should get, I'll attach two pictures
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just don't know why he specifically likes that spot (also sorry they're blurry, I have really shakey hands) he also frequently uses the plants in the back to hide but he's stopped for some reason. (Also his tail is no longer down because I used a branch above him to pin his tail to the wall, not like it's pined pined but it's just laying against the glass now) also I know the bottom is a bit open, I just re-organized it and I've been second guessing it but if you have any ideas please let me know, thank you.
Sorry for the second ask but I actually got a creative urge and I put in an extra vine, along withe the light vine, and then I put in another big plant, I just tried to clutter it as much as I could in hopes he sleeps somewhere else, and i know its not the best, I have the worst time trying to find stuff, im probably going to put some real sticks in there at some point, I just have a hard time figuring out the type of tree
-
Sorry for a 4th ask but I had gotten a picture of his pelvic region and I was wondering if it was normal, I had panicked because it was so rare for his tail to fall like that, especially at a 90° angle when it usually fell at a 48° angle. Again sorry for so many asks
Hello! So sorry for how long this has taken @crestiegeckos - lots of irl stuff going on for us as well as asks being weird sometimes.
So it’s possible that it’s FTS if he doesn’t often go on horizontal surfaces or doesn’t have enough horizontal surfaces to be on where he feels safe/comfortable - this is why things like branches and bridges are so important for cresties (and other arboreal geckos). For branches you just need something like cork bark or you can use I think Java wood, bog wood or mopani - any wood that isn’t toxic and can withstand high humidity.
However some geckos don’t enjoy horizontal surfaces even with access to them. Some just end up with FTS because they prefer to be on the glass like that - we’ve seen it occasionally in groups on Facebook.
Saying all this though, sometimes gecko tails can and do go at a weird angle with without FTS. We can regularly see various geckos we own with their tails at weird angles, it doesn’t mean FTS it just means they can move their tails and they aren’t always straight out or curled around them.
But I do also have to say that it could be any number of things and we aren’t qualified to say whether or not it is FTS, something else or nothing. If you see it repeatedly or are worried then I recommend a vet visit. Also try not to disturb your gecko too often with enclosure changes, that can cause a lot of stress to keep adding or moving things around and will make it very hard to settle - try to leave it at least a few weeks between each change so he can adjust to what you’ve done already and try not to make changes while they’re in the enclosure.
I hope this helps.

Can people with near sightedness see something far away if they use a close mirror?
People who can only see with glasses need them because their vision has degraded. And the structure of glasses is to enhance the image by placing a focusing apparatus a certain distance from their eye to get sharpest quality of what they're looking at. --Similar to how we use magnifying glasses and microscopes to see something outside of our regular range of vision-- right? At least that's the premise.
Cameras taking pictures, specifically old cameras, and not digital cameras, but also digital cameras. Expose themselves to light to capture the detail, which is engrained into some film or sensor. I remember hearing that the negatives of film cameras have all the detail up to extremely fine detail, but the method we had to expose them made the quality get loaded. Similar to how with increased pixels, we can sharpen the image of what is on a screen. Or polygons in 3D design in games.
Mirrors and other reflective surfaces reflect whatever light photons/waves hit it. Now the amount of light does decrease depending on how much light is absorbed, because mirrors are not perfect reflective surfaces.
So my question is this: would a near sighted person, one who cannot see far away from them, be able to see detail or far away objects, which they could not normally see, with clarity as if it was that close to them by using a handheld?
I will clarify that the person can read letters on a page very crisply at 10-12 size font at an arms length. However, no magnification of the object occurs. It is that simply what they are seeing is now "closer to them" because it is on the mirrored surface
My thought is that yes they could. Because it would be as if they had a picture or video of the thing they are looking at with great detail.
I want to know what anyone else thinks? I’ll do a poll for simplicity
