expanding on the last post - basically i was telling a story and i got very animated and exaggerated and limp-wristed

and my mom stopped me to giggle and be like “izzy i wish i could take a snapshot of this moment so u could see how u look. you are so cute. it’s like….. [visibly trying not to say effeminate and risk invalidating me] it’s like. not girly. but like. [relieved to have found a good example] THE GUYS FROM QUEER EYE. you looked exactly like tan just now. like [does flamboyant hand movement]”

and it rly did make me happy. i was like “YES. you’re seeing my vision. i’m butch in many ways, but i’m more faggy than dykey” and she was like “THAT’S IT! i love it!! i love you!!” and i like. Watched Her understand my confusing contradictory identity a little better, in that moment.

and. again. as rough as the rest of the visit went. that was a rly nice moment of being properly perceived and celebrated for my weird identity. <3

Why did Beth and Dean wait so long to have kids? If by s1 Beth and Dean had been together 20 years, and they started dating when Beth was about 14 (based on Michigan’s minor work permit laws, since Beth had that ice cream parlor job), then Beth is 34 at the start of the show. And Kenny is 11, if we are to believe his birthday cake. So they waited until she was 23. Which doesn’t seem very old, but considering that she probably married him immediately after high school, that’s five years where she probably actually liked the guy. And if she never had a job after the ice cream shop, the way Dean says she didn’t, then what did she do for 5 years?
