Fr though I love the interpretation of Satoru being a lot better at day to day life stuff cause it’s not one I see often. What made you go that route?

lmao, definitely more than a week maybe three-ish years

good question! i actually have a lot to say.

in the FIYM-verse, my headcanon for Satoru's upbringing is that, while he stayed in the Gojo clan system until he was able to escape to Jujutsu Tech, he bounced around a lot within the clan system after his mom died and his dad left the clan system. this is a pretty specific headcanon and it partially conflicts with the stuff gege said in the satoru 30questions interview, but it actually matches pretty nicely with his broader characterization.

in particular, i really latch onto his desire for normalcy. that's one of the major theses of FIYM, actually for both Satoru and Suguru, although it takes a different shape for both of them. Satoru is missing the normalcy of growing up outside the clan system, which Suguru had from his pre-jujutsu society years. Suguru is missing the internal normalcy of coming to terms with his powers, and it not being this curse in and of itself, which Satoru had from growing up in the clan system.

anyway, i think Satoru bounced around within the Gojo clan because after losing his primary parents, lots of subfactions would have wanted to take on the role of adoptive parents to build rapport and clout because he's got the mantle of the Six Eyes/Limitless. but because Satoru was a little shit and restless in the cage of the Gojo clan, no one would have been able to handle him for too long. that's part of why even in JJT, he struggles to put down roots in a living space, and his decor/personalization is pretty sparse.

when you move around a lot, one thing, maybe the only thing that stays the same is the way you take care of yourself. laundry, cooking, mending, etc. Satoru is naturally good at everything because of the Six Eyes (subconscious optimization of all physical motions/efficiency of tasks), but I actually think he'd be good at these specific housekeeping things more as a coping mechanism than anything.

lots of people cared about the well-being of the bearer of Six Eyes/Limitless. but not a lot of people genuinely cared about Satoru. I think that drove him to be hyper-independent in his own caretaking after his mom died. the idea of sharing these tasks, the domesticity, the one bit of normalcy he was able to carve out for himself in his chaotic upbringing - it's a lot. in FIYM he hasn't really unpacked that yet, but subconsciously, as you see in string theory, it's really all he's ever wanted.

dollyriot: 1. Do you prefer traditional drawing, or digital? - I prefer traditional drawing, plus I have no digital art equipment. 2. How long have you been drawing? - I’ve been drawing since Kindergarten, I didn’t start taking it seriously until after I graduated high school. It was mainly for fun. 3. How many classes have you taken? - I took Art classes in middle school, high school and in my first year of college. There were a couple of them I took outside of school. 4. Do you have a DeviantArt, personal website, or art blog? I have a Tumblr: “hiddenshadowsketch” and Instagram: “13luckythings” 5. What’s your favorite thing to draw? - My favorite thing to draw is mainly people. Before it was cartoon characters, now it’s mainly women sometimes. I never knew how to draw a woman for 17 years. 6. What’s your least favorite thing to draw? - The least favorite thing to draw is Animals and vehicles. 7. How often do you use references? - I use references in almost every drawing I do. From Calvin Klein to some musicians or figure poses and even Comic characters. 8. Do you draw professionally, or just for fun? - I mainly draw for fun, but now I’m training myself to do it professionally. But I still need tons of PRACTICE. 9. How much time do you spend drawing on an average day? - I mainly spend close to 2 -3 hours a day. Sometimes drawings do tend to move into the next day and I’ll continue then. 10. Are you confident about your art? - My confidence with art is 75/25.I usually like it from forming it in my mind, and If i can get it right, I’ll be happy. Sometimes, it won’t come out perfectly and if I does, there’s that small chance I won’t like it. 11. How many art-related blogs do you follow? At least over 100. 12. Is it okay for people to ask you about your process? - Yes I would be more than happy to answer any questions. Unfortunately, I don’t get a whole lot. I’m trying to change that though. If I can improve my talent, I know people would like to find out more about it. 13. Do you prefer to keep your art personal, or do you like drawing things for other people? - I prefer to keep it personal for now. Maybe someday, I’ll start doing collaborations, but I have to be ready for that experience and prepare for it as well. 14. Do you ever collaborate with others? - No I don’t. I would like to the future though. 15. How long does an average piece take you to complete? 16. Do you draw more today than you did in the past, or do you draw less? - Yes, I do in fact. Way more than the previous years. I can say around 2016, I would take my sketchbook with me almost everyday. But then around the time I re-enrolled in college, I took with me everyday also and tries to draw as much as possible. Now since the new year has come I draw almost everyday. 17. Do you think you’re justified in giving other people art advice? - No, not full advice. The most I can give is what to draw or what to practice on if they’re looking to improve. 18. What are you currently trying to improve on? - I’m trying to improve on drawing the human figure more effectively. Including the face and body. Another thing would be hair clothing. Also, too adding background to the drawing, instead of having a plain white background. 19. What is the most difficult thing for you to draw? - the most difficult thing to draw is Human figures( I.e. Hands, feet face). 20. What is the easiest thing for you to draw? - I wouldn’t say it’s easy for me. Its still a constant struggle of keeping up with practicing. 21. Do you like to challenge yourself? - I’m trying to challenge myself everyday, but school gets in the way and sometimes my perfectionist ways,I’ll usually want to get a drawing right then and there.(which is bad). 22. Are you confident that you’re improving steadily? Hmmm. Confident? I guess you can say here and there. Sometimes drawings don’t come out how I want them to look or come out at all. So, Steadily? Not so much. 23. Do you draw more fanart, or more original art? - I mainly do original art. Fan art never appealed to me. 24. Do you feel jealous when you see other people’s art, or inspired? (Be honest!) - Yes I do feel jealous. 100% true. It eats me up from the inside. I get depressed and sometimes i won’t want to draw for a day or two. But I’m also inspired by the more “talented and proficient” artists. It’s a way of telling me that If they can improve and be great so can I. 25. Do you like to draw in silence, or with music? - Usually i draw with music on. There are chill Hip-Hop or ambient music compilation video playlists on YouTube. 26. For digital artists: what program(s) do you use? - I don’t use digital art. 27. For digital artists: how many layers does a typical piece require? -Still, don’t use it. 28. For traditional artists: what medium do you like most? (Pencil, charcoals, etc) -The tools i use are drawing pencils(B- 4B), 0.5 mechanical pencils(for softness and light strokes and feel too), Micron Ink pens, Ohuhu Copic Markers and Pigma or Faber Castell brush pens or markers. 29. For traditional artists: How do you usually start on a big piece? (Light sketch, colored lead, sketchpaper, etc) - I start with a light sketch and then darken when it comes to detail. 30. What inspires you to not just make art, but to be a better artist? - What inspires me to make art? I guess I could say my influences(people i admire).Artists like Bill Sienkiewicz, Katsuhiro Otomo, Aaron Mcgruder, Carrol Jessen, Jamie Hewlett, Genndy Tartakovsky, Ralph Bakshi and Ezra Jack Keats. Another influential push would be movies, Fashion, tv shows or music. To be a better artist, I would say inspiration comes from, seeing other artists make great art and telling myself, I want to be that good! If not like that or at least better. It takes tons of practice and dedication, but I know I can do it. I have too many creative ideas to keep them contained.

#29 - What advice would you give to your Tav?

I'd probably tell her to stop running. She ran away from her house in the upper city when she was about 19 as a half-elf. She never went back. She avoids her mother like the plague and she actually has no idea if her parents are alive or dead.

And she didn't just physically ran away but she shut down. She willed herself to not feel anything at all. She feels some uncomfortable thoughts coming into her mind? She throws herself outside - either looks for a meaningless fuck or something she can stick with her blades.

I'd also tell her to be more forgiving and less revenge pursuing. It is a good thing no-one betrays her during their tadpole journey because if they did, she would incinerate them. If she can't kill them, they are dead to her for all she cares. Sadly her brother is in that category. She never forgave him for leaving her alone with their mother.

Why not waste our time?

1. What is the real reason you are confused right now? I am confused for multiple reasons. I never understood the effect love could have on a person. Love can create a reality, admired by many but it can destroy you in seconds. I am confused as to why us, humans, give love the ability to destroy us. To destroy our goals before we achieved them, destroy our main joy within our hearts, and leave it unfixed.

2. What were you doing at 11 pm, last night? I was asleep. I usually go to sleep at around 10, since my body is weak for sleep. 

3. How do you feel about 3 am? For the most part, I do not have a valid opinion, since I am most likely asleep. 

4. I bet you kissed someone last night, right? Actually, I have not. Love is too overrated.

5. You can drink one liquid for the rest of your life - what is it? I only drink water anyways, so why not?

6. Do you like hickeys? Hickeys are created to mark what is yours. I cannot dislike an event which has not happened to me personally. 

7. Is there someone who continuously lets you down? Definitely, but I cannot complain, as I have done the same. As human beings, we cannot define ourselves by our mistakes, but by our achievements. 

8. Do you always answer your texts? Since no one ever texts me, I can proudly say, I do not miss any texts.

9. Last time you talked to one of your best friends? From social media, a minute ago. Face to face, around a three days. I live far from my friends, so this summer is going to be quite quiet. 

10. Are you a silent or talkative person? Depends on how comfortable I am around the person, I can be quite talkative, but I am more of a listener. 

11. Is anyone else in the room with you? No, I am alone at the moment. 

12. Do you cry easily? I do not cry easily. I am not a fan of crying in public, or in front of others, as I believe I can be a burden at times.

13. What is your family like? My family has many sides to it. My family can be caring, and kind. We share laughs and smiles together. Yet, I feel my family is becoming distant. We are keeping secrets from each other, and we spend more time alone, instead of with each other.

14. What was your last text message? One of my friends described a video they have seen on the internet, but couldn’t find it again. She figured, if I could not see the video, she would describe it to me, and she is not good with her words. I replied back with “OMFG”. 

15. Most embarrassing moment? In elementary school, I used to wear multiple skirts and dresses. One day, I wore a worn down skirt, with the elastic around the waist extremely loose. While my class and I were walking towards our classroom, from the school library, the skirt fell down, and I did not wear shorts under, revealing my underwear to all my classmates and teacher. 

16. If you had to get a piercing (not ears), what would you get? I have thought of a lip rig, but now, I am not sure. I am not a fan of piercings as much as I am a fan of tattoos. 

17. Honestly, what’s on your mind right now? I am quite curious about my summer vacation. I have only started it, and I am getting quite bored lately. Most of my friends are doing something, except me. I wonder if my sumer vacation will be the same as last year’s. 

18. Where are you going on your next vacation? For my next vacation, I have no idea.

19. Where have you lived most of your life? Canada

20. Do you curse around your parents? Occasionally, but rarely.

21. Are you happy with where you live? It isn’t a bad area to live in, but I live pretty far from my friends. From the distance, I tend to stay inside, making myself lazy and unhealthy. 

22. Words you can’t spell half of the time? Believe. I tend to forget the third E, and misplace the I. 

23. What were you doing last night at 12 am? Sleeping.

24. Do you cook? If by “cooking” you mean “preparing a pizza pocket”, then yes, I can cook.

25. Name four things that you wish you had. 1. Ability to speak all languages. 2. Money (You need it to survive) 3. Unlimited data. 4. Less fat on my body, mainly my stomach

26. Ever meet anyone you met on tumblr? Sadly, I have never had an internet friend.

27. How is your hair? I have straight, medium length, brown hair. My hair is very healthy. Never dyed my hair, or added any unnecessary chemicals into my hair. I have cut my hair many times before, changing my style every two years, but mainly, I focus on removing the split ends.

28. Think back to January 2007, were you single? Without a doubt, yes.

29. Are you nice to everyone? I believe, if you treat me with respect, I will return the respect back. Treat me disrespectfully, watch your back. I tend to ignore rude people, and avoid drama.

30. How do you feel about sea aquariums? They’re beautiful in their own way, but boring after some time.

Oh hey - thank you for the ask! Here is the post with the questions if somehow more people would like to ask!

#5 - Did your Tav have any formal or informal employment? If yes, what was their job? If no, how did they make ends meet? How did they feel about it?

She was a mercenary of some sorts. She was very popular amongst wizards and sorcerers of Baldur's Gate for her talents in acquiring rare, often enchanted items, whether that be a scroll or a magical ring. She often spent her time exploring dangerous old ruins, in and around Baldur's Gate.

She loves it. The danger and the thrill of exploration is what she always wanted to do with her life and it helps that those wizards pay, a lot.

#6 - Favourite childhood memory

If you ask her this, she'll have to think for a moment to find an actually good memory. She didn't really have a happy childhood. But probably her older brother gifting her her first short swords and short bow was the happiest memory she can think of. Same night when everyone was asleep he taught her how to use them. He left her in the morning but still, the memory and the lessons stayed with her.

#24 - What first impression does your Tav give off to strangers?

Oh this is a tough one. I'm going to say she looks confident and capable. If you have a job and the coin, you won't doubt if she can do it. She can.

However if she gets put on the spot the awkward blunt part comes out and that's how she ended up telling the tiefling kids that they were all going to die.

Ah this was so much fun to do! The last question gave me a pause ngl.
