Day 30: Top 3 shows to introduce people to BL?

To introduce someone to BL I'd choose shows that are great shows but don't rely too much on tropes and inside jokes from the BL sphere, while also having a high production quality. It also doesn't hurt if there's other plot than romance, so if that doesn't interest them, there's other parts of the shows that might catch their interest.

This leaves me with this top 3:

Not Me

Really interesting, entertaining and engaging plot, while also having a high production quality. Romance comes in second to the action and mystery, so there's a little bit of everything.

2. The Eighth Sense

Great show without any strong tropes and explores some interesting themes. Especially good if the person I'm trying to get into BL is from Europe or North America or just a kdrama fan.

3. Moonlight Chicken

Feels more steeped in the BL world than other two while still not having any of the more divicive tropes and also has a high production quality.

Usually I adapt the answer to the people I'm introducing said show but I think these 3 shows have a bit of everything and can satisfy anyone willing to give BLs a try.

Number 3

Wandee Goodday

This one is tried and tested. If a Thai BL incorporated the kdrama romcom aesthetic it would be this one. It's funny witty and sexy. My friend loved it!

PLUS CANON ASEXUAL CHARACTER!

Number 2

The Eighth Sense

I honestly can't recommend this one enough. It's not on the number one spot because I feel like you need to be in the right mental state to absorb it but it's one of my favourites. It's a simple, genuine story that touches on so many important aspects of life that it transcends the romance while still keeping it at the centre. Truly a masterpiece worth checking out.

Sotus

I think we can all agree that Sotus is the only option ever. It was my first introduction to thai BLs and I'm grateful it was. It still stands the test of time for sure.

It's one of those shows that can work as a good gateway to checking out other similar shows. It introduces many key factors like engineering gays, the hierarchy between classmates and ofc rooftop kisses and pink drinks. It's such a classic you simply have to watch it.

Forgot to post yesterday so I will be posting for 2nd Feb right now. I didn't really study all that much yesterday, just a little bit of condensed matter for class, and then I went back to my room and binged watched a kdrama. I did sleep at 3am and my eyes are drooping close but at least I had fun.

Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie! At least I'm about to start it, but this is for an assigned reading. For leisure, I last read the translated web novel Qing Kuang, an mlm high school slice of life novel and it was fun!

Day 26: a BL manga that's a masterpiece

I feel like saying this is a masterpiece isn't groundbreaking or different... but damn this story solidifies that yaoi could make its trite tropes fun and interesting when the art is gorgeous and it leans into its kdrama/soap opera storylines. Byeonduck says this came from her mean dom fantasy she had as a girl. It shows in the best way. It's like indulging in too many sweets. Kinda naughty, kinda immature, stupid, but fun.

Jongdae’s voice is clear & warm as it always is, and I adore the deeper voice he uses on the chorus. And even though this is (accidentally) the first k-OST I was exposed to, I still feel like this one in particular is the best for showcasing his skill and range.

Heaven on Earth, Switzerland

I've  always manifest my dreams and faith by putting God first in every area of my life.

I can't help but say probably a million times "Thank You Lord for everything. Thank You for putting so much color in my life. Thank You for rainbow days and also for the dark moments. Thank You for the ups and downs of my life."

Finally, I got a time to blog about my favorite country, my so-called heaven on earth and it's no other than Switzerland.

Mt. Titlis Engelberg, Switzerland

C'mon just riding the cable car to reach the famous Mt. Titlis is definitely one of the books!!!

I look back and I can't help but to thank and be grateful that the Lord gave me trials and courage to surpass the challenges in my life. My original plan and target age to visit Europe was on my age of 25 . I never imagined that there will be a reroute in my plan because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It might be two years late from the original plan that I have listed in my personal notebook but I can't help but still be grateful that I experience Europe on my age of 27.

Switzerland is my favorite place not only in Europe but in the whole world. I just feel that I am safe and secured during my visit there. Frankly speaking, I hope to be back in this beautiful country in God's time. Switzerland is like a heaven on earth.

If you are a fan of the famous Korean drama, Crash Landing On You, I am sure that you will have fun here in Giessbach, Switzerland.

Just having the best time of my life here in Iseltwald, Switzerland.

Visiting Sigriswil Panoramic Bridge also made my heart flutter because of the inner Kdrama fan inside me.

I have to admit that there comes a time in my life when most of the times, I forgot about the Lord. I tend to make mistakes and wrong choices in life. I am not perfect. Sometimes, I only remember God when I ask for something. I tend to forget to even pray in the morning.

Traveling internationally that leads to self-discovery really helped me a lot. I realized that when I put God in the first place of my life, I could just see how wonderfully I am made by our Creator just like how wonderful our Creator did the amazing Swiss Alps. I can't help but admire the Lord.

Let me also share my Swiss hotel experience. I have observed that hotel rooms in Switzerland are small in space if I will compare to the other hotels that I've stayed during my European vacation last year. It's just a matter of the size of the hotel room but still, nothing could ever compare to the amazing beauty of Switzerland.

----- Meanwhile, I tried my luck in one of the casinos around Interlaken, Switzerland but unfortunately, I didn't won.

Balik taya lang sa Switzerland, I cashout 13 Swiss FR only. I could still remember I also gambled when I was in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and I won almost 100 USD.

Luck is not on my side when I was in Europe I guess. I will not gamble again. I believe that if you want to play anywhere, you need to have a limit. Don't put all your money in a casino game. Yes, it might be addicting but don't gamble too much.

At least sa casino naglilimit ako. Kapag sumugal ako sa pag-ibig minsan napapasobra ako ng taya e kaya ang ending ang tagal ko magmove-on. Haha... (hugot yarn???!!!)

Switzerland is one of the reasons why my healing journey become much lighter and more manageable.

God is using so many instruments to help me in my emotional and spiritual healing. I believe that when we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place.  I know that my experience in Switzerland is a part of God's greater plan for my life.

I still don't know where God's plan will take me but with full confidence and trust, I am not having a heavy heart inside me anymore. I know that our Creator will create a wondrous life for me in the future. Just like how He made Switzerland a heaven and paradise here on earth, I will also have a serene story just like the Switzerland.

Thank You Lord for creating such a beautiful country called Switzerland.

Honestly the character is so sweet and bubbly and energetic and funny! I just really want a boyfriend like him. I just love how he loves Bok Joo so purely. He loves her because of who she is, he knows she isn’t the prettiest girl [supposedly in the show], but she becomes beautiful to him the more that he falls for her. He even states “There isn’t a reason to like you, I like you because I like you”. That’s what I really like, he likes and loves her with all her flaws and short comings. They grow to love each other for who they are and it’s just so pure and beautiful.
