holy shit wait…your 32???
I…im gonna cry
I didn’t know we can live this long…
not just trans mass but…
alterhuman…and plurals..and…
I can’t…
so happy
gonna cry……..
yes i am! i was born in 1992 :)
that's exactly why i have my age in my bio- i've wanted to show people that you don't "outgrow" fundamental parts of your identity. it's natural to adopt and shed identities as we age, but i've been out as genderqueer since 19! nothing has changed, i'm still the same genderqueer person i was all those years ago!
and if anything- life has gotten better in my 30s. as a word of advice to most people out there: your teen years and your twenties FUCKING SUCK!!!!!!!! they tell you those are the "best years of your life" but they're NOT- you're growing into a world that is terrifying and doesn't understand you. you're scared. your brain and body are still developing and you're constantly facing new challenges. those are honestly i think the HARDEST years of your life, hands down
when i was a teenager, i would think to myself "phht there's literally no way i'm making it past 25 lmao" and figure that life ends after 25. well, that day came where i turned 25... and nothing changed.
and then i turned 30. still, nothing changed
now i'm 32 and... nothing has changed. maturation happens with age, yes, but it doesn't mean that you're suddenly a completely different person. people have such a shitty view on 30 year olds, like it's somehow "embarrassing" to be above the age of 25 years old. people in their 30s are constantly picked on, we're constantly told to "act our age" when... we are. i'm happier than ever realizing that I made it to my 30s, still trans, still nonhuman, still plural
i've been in treatment for DID since 2017, and while i've healed a lot, i have not integrated with my alters, and i never will. i don't want to. this is how my brain functions. the dissociation can be a nightmare for me, but my brain needs different people inside of it in order to be able to function properly. we tried to force ourselves to live as a singlet for 3 years and what ended up happening was that host at that time cracked from being under the constant pressure and still has never returned. the amount of stress it placed on us to try to live as a singlet was not worth it. at all
there hasn't been a singular moment in my adult life where i stopped being nonhuman, either. that was something that i never even tried to force myself out of. i never viewed it as weird or something that i should "outgrow"- i told my own mother that i did not identify as human as a child and that never left me. even now, i still wear dog collars, ears, tails, and take nature walks and do things to make myself feel more like my nonhuman selves. i'm still a furry, too!
i might not be a queer "elder" yet, but i'm happy as can be to be able to be an older queer person who can use their experience to help younger folks. thanks for sending this message! trust me, there really is a life after your 20s. your teens and 20s suck massively. but after i passed 30 i became more down to earth about my age. it's not a bad thing to live past 20- in fact, it's a badge of honor. i made it. i'm still breathing, i'm still here, still queer, despite all attempts to prevent me from still being here.
i'm going to continue be here for a long, long time, and you can be here with me, too.
take care of yourself! thanks for stopping by!

So I have a request for a Miguel fic, if you are willing to do it. 😊🤗
So...Miguel has a family but he hasn't told the other Spiders. One day he has to take his baby to work to look after him for a while. But then, in his office, bang the Spiders and see Miguel with a baby in his arms/or in a baby carrier. Later Miguel's wife comes in the picture too to take the baby in their universe.
OKAY I LOVE MIGUEL WITH A KID SM
So I know people were asking me for a part 2 on my other one so I’m gonna work on it but obviously it’s these requests firsttt
Thank you all so much for the support 💕
—————————————————————————
“”Are you infected??”
—————————————————————————
You were typically the one to watch the kids, the double trouble twins. Miguel was a busy man, protecting the spider-verse and all, so you would work from home and play with the twins. It wasn’t so bad, of course Miguel felt bad that he couldn’t have as close of a relationship with them but they still very much knew who their daddy was ((and you did too 😳)). But overall it was a good system and you would get to take things slow at home while being a fun mother.
However, every so often there was days you would need to go into work, very rare but still at least a semiannual occurrence. Sometimes you would even take them into work and they would end up bothering coworkers, but most times you were able to get a family member or close friend to watch them but as they’ve gotten older, spider powers started to shine through. Not only was it hard to control them but it would be too revealing.
Obviously nobody knew Miguel was spider-man, but if two twins started to hang on ceilings, people would eventually put two and two together. This meant you couldn’t leave them with family, resulting in Miguel carrying them around in double baby backpacks. One would be on his chest, the other in him back.
Miguel, in typical fashion, stayed in his office. Nobody assumed anything by his yelling, the man was weird, what would be surprising if he was schizo? Although every now and then people would look at each other, it didn’t sound like typical frustration or talking to himself, it was almost a back and forth. They were in no way heavy, but oh my, they were annoying. How did you get a grip on these two? They’re animals. Halfway through the day, the twins got out of the carriers and there was no going back.
“Put that down! Ay- I’m sorry don’t cry- HEY”. Miguel was struggling, because he loved the kids and he felt so bad for yelling but they wouldn’t listen. He thought to himself about the teens. You’d think as they get older they’d be better, but he saw himself comparing them to his 1 year old twins.
Disgusted at the thought, he grabbed them and webbed their hands. They giggled, struggling to get it off. It was a good distraction….. for like 3 minutes, then they were back to running around. He tried playing fetch with the twins but that didn’t go very well. They were just.. confused. Why did he throw the toy the just got. Although he appreciated their thinking skills, he really had no idea what to do. He held both of his kids, they hung from his arms and were climbing around him like a jungle gym.
Completely lost in thought about his children dilemma, the doors to his office opened, and the lovely teen band walked in. What a sight for them to see. Miguel standing completely disheveled and staring into space, a kid on his shoulder grabbing his ear, and another kid gorilla hugging his ((massive)) leg and trying to bite the suit.
Panic bells went off, everybody rushing over to Miguel. Was this an attack, was Miguel okay? Oh my gosh he’s being attacked by alien morphing baby things. As they all got ready to ready for the babies, Miguel jumped back, making sure to grab hold of his kids, and getting defensive.
“What the hell is your guys problem?!!” He shouted, sheltering both of his kids, who were now on high alert and looking fearful.
“Are those Aliena??? What happened to you, what did they do?? Why do you look like that!” Miles replied back to him, pointing his fingers at both babies. “Are you infected??”
Hobie, naturally didn’t look concerned, and stop back. “Mate, they look just like him”
“They bit him and took his DNA!! That’s why he’s protecting him”, Pavitr shouted while getting in an offensive position. Hobie almost lost is as he hurled over. Gwen looked over for a moment, then back to Miguel. “Wait… those are your kids”
“WHAT”. Miles and Pavitr shouted, looking at the very tired Miguel. “By that doesn’t make sense- you’re not- are you married??”. Questions flew right and left, chaos ensued as the babies ran around again. Miguel was done, SO DONE with babysitting the actual babies and now the teens.
Suddenly the door opened again, a very sweaty you running through. “Oh Miggy- I’m sorry I’m late I just got so lost in this place, but I’m here for the twins”. Miguel looked over at you in panic, the teen’s immediately stopped in their tracks. As the kids ran to you, so did the teens…. and what was supposed to be Miguel’s saving grace, ended up in having everybody over for dinner.
—————————————————————————
Ahh I’m sorry if this isn’t exactly what you asked for, I traveled today to see a college and I’m writing this very late so I hope you don’t mind that it’s rushed. I’ll get more writing done this week since I’m on break, I promise!

AITA for not putting a bell on my cat?
Cw for discussion of animal death and injury in vague terms.
So I live in a neighborhood with a lot of stray/outdoor cats. In fact, it's sorta that way all over the city. A few weeks ago as of writing this, I picked up a stray because I saw that it had an open wound on its neck; since it was amicable to being handled I decided to take it to the vet to be treated (and neutered, since I'd already gotten hold of it and obviously we don't need more strays.)
Recently, my cat of 15 years (we had him for 15 years, he was about 17-18 though) passed of old age, so I wasn't expecting my family to be willing to take a new cat in so soon. We even still have most of his stuff, so I figured it would be a matter of keeping the stray indoors until it was healed, then letting him go about his business. We all ended up getting attached over his two weeks of recovery though (if anyone is curious, it was a burst absess. While he was there we got him vaccinated and checked for other problems. Aside from ear mites, he was fine) so we got him a microchip, named him, and that was that.
My previous cat was also a rescue, though we picked him up from a shelter. At the time we also had a dog and a dog door, so keeping him inside would have been a logistical struggle we just... didn't care to bother with. By the time the dog passed, he'd had access to the outside for years and we saw no reason to suddenly cut him off from that. We obviously had to keep this new cat completely inside while his staples were in, but the plan was always to open up the dog door once he was healed and let him decide where he wanted to be. I don't like taking care of a litter box, my dad doesn't like the smell of cat, 3/4ths of the house is allergic (though that didn't stop us before), and this cat is much younger than our previous was, and has much more energy (vet estimated him at 6mo-1yr). At the beginning of last week (again, as of writing this) I got the go-ahead from the vet to let him outside and gladly did so. He hasn't gotten the hang of the dog door yet (our previous had the advantage of watching the dog go through to learn how to do it) but will go through open doors/windows and will return to the door or enter through the window if it's still open.
With context out of the way here comes the trouble: our neighbors. Our house is on the corner of the block and to our left is a house that takes tenants every so often. They've been here for as long as I (22m) have been alive and have been a nucance for probably longer than that. Their yard is atrocious, they planted bamboo that grew under the fence and into our property, and the woman who owns the house (presumably. Her husband might but I've never spoken to him) apparently has some moral issue with outdoor cats.
Sometime into owning our previous cat, she suddenly became very concerned with the bird population and insisted that we collar our cat and get him a bell so that he wouldn't catch birds. I'd like to point three things out: 1) our previous cat only had one eye, 2) we had tried to collar him before and he lost every single one so we gave up (breakaway collars so he didn't choke, 3) he caught birds despite both of these facts. Needless to say, I was not fucking thrilled about unsolicited advice from a woman I'd never spoken to, who let her unmitigated mess of invasive plants invade my garden, but whatever. She spoke to my little (10yro) sister about it at the time, only once, and never to me, so it wasn't an issue.
So I let this new cat out, right? I opened the dog door for him and he waltzed right on out, but I wasn't convinced he really knew how to operate it. About an hour or so without hearing him come in, I head through the back door to look for him. I got him from a different neighborhood, across town, while visiting a friend, so I figured I was allowed to be a little worried about him getting lost or overwhelmed. As soon as I step out onto the porch, the neighbor-lady calls over and asks me if my cat got out or I let it out.
I tell her I let him out. She asks me to put a bell on him. In an attempt to remain civil I ask her why. She says something about it being stupid, I ask her why it's stupid, she says cats eat birds and the bird populations are declining. I instantly want to call bull on cats being a leading reason of bird population decline, but I just tell her that I'll have to look that up, and ask her if she saw which way he went. (I'd like my restraint during this interaction noted, thanks.)
Anyway I don't find the cat but I get a good few patrols around the block, and eventually he comes back to the house sometime in the late-night early-morning. He does not use the dog door and waits for me to open the door instead (back door is on the way to the bathroom, I saw his stupid little face pressed against the glass when i went to piss).
I look up bird population decline articles. Most of them mention cats as a factor, along with clear windows. Primary factors are listed as deforestation and invasive species, pesticides, etc. I don't consider getting my cat a collar because I don't appreciate my neighbors input, especially when she's going to be hypocritical and ignore that planting native species may help bird population more than putting out fifty fucking feeders and complaining that the stray cats see her yard as a buffet. Anyway.
I let him out again yesterday, this time through the window in my room, which leads to the back porch. I felt comfortable leaving it open since I work at my desk and would hear if anything not-cat came inside. (Allergies were a problem, but I'd really rather he have a way to get inside if he wanted/needed, and he STILL will not open the dog door on his own. Obviously I'm not helping by continuing to give him alternatives but I am soft-hearted.) Sometime in the evening my dad comes in and tells me that when the cat next comes back, I should keep him inside because "The neighbor lady is being a bitch and I don't want to deal with it." I assume she said something to him, so I agree and when the cat comes in for the night I close the window.
This morning I saw what had ACTUALLY got him.in a twist, because not only did she say something but she printed out and taped a note to our door. Oh, how I would love to send a picture of it here, but I don't know how to embed photos in asks so you'll just have to deal with my transcription:
CAT FACTS
Cats kill birds. Cars kill cats.
Here's some links to look up.
[I won't type the links out. First one is an article titled "how long do outdoor cats live indoor vs outdoor cats" and the second is "faq cats and their effects on birds". I have not read either of these.]
Ask Kelly about Dixie. Ask Jean about Madeline - wait don't - she ran over her with her own car and broke her pelvis because the cat was older and couldn't hear well.
You have a very beautiful young cat. He deserves a safe loving home. Act like you care for your cat or give him to a home that will. I have four indoor cats - three are orange boys. I have a soft spot for orange boy cats. They are very happy as inside cats.
Be responsible.
[Handwritten at the bottom:]
Your cat is sleeping in my backyard. Why are you forcing him to be an outdoor cat!?
[End]
The amount of violent rage this fills me with is unreal. Kelly is our across-the-road neighbor, I assume Jean is another neighbor (I'm bad with names) and I CANNOT imagine that either of them appreciate being. Used like this. Also, I'm very glad her cats are happy indoors but this cat is not, he wants to go outside, he has been crowding the window all morning waiting for me to open it. (I respect me father so I won't, but I disrespect my neighbor so I really, REALLY fucking want to.)
So AITA for disregarding the safety/happiness of my cat and the decline of the bird population by not putting a collar on him and heartlessly forcing him outside? I'm no further inclined to force him indoors or get a collar, especially with her continued insistence, and in fact I'm so far making an active effort to restrain myself from going over and talking to her because I just want to turn it into an argument.

— the bubbles are pink, jackass!
pairings: leah williamson x child reader!buddy x reader!monkey
summary: buddy learns a new word from monkey and can't stop repeating it, meanwhile leah's almost have a breakdown over it.
Thank you to @alotofpockets for her help with getting this one started as well!
"The bubbles are pink, jackass!"
The not so innocent words that slip out of the 3 year old's mouth are enough to make Leah completely freeze in her spot and widen her eyes in disbelief.
"D... Did she just," Leah stutters her words in horror, having to question herself if she heard it right, "Did you just hear that then?" She wonders.
Looking to where Buddy is sat on the sofa playing with Mr. Bear, the blonde's still baffled to hear what is said and doesn't want to believe it came from the little one.
Meanwhile your minding your own business, pretty much hyper focused on scrolling through your Instagram while eating your cereal, "Oh yeah, I heard that," You can't help but snort in amusement, feeling a sense of pride for your little buddy, "Clear as day."
Leah clicks her tongue disapprovingly once she's gotten over the shock horror of the words coming out of her innocent little girls mouth, "Need I ask where she heard that from?" She questions.
"Accusations! False accusations!" You drop your spoon in the bowl of cereal and point your finger directly at the blonde.
"Mhm sure, I don't believe that for a single second," Leah murmurs, shaking her head in disagreement, "I know exactly what you're like at times!"
"ExCuSe Me!?" You gasp in shock at the blonde pointing her finger at you straight away, "You know nothing... Nothing, Jon Snow!"
So you'd been a bit hooked on Game of Thrones, but so what?
"Oh really, so if I don't ask her then she wouldn't tell me that?" The blonde remarks, raising her eyebrow which makes you suddenly go silent, "Yeah, that's what I thought!"
"Okay so maybe I did but in my defense, it's not even that bad of a word!" You can't help defend yourself, shrugging your shoulders.
"No, no, I don't wanna hear it!" Leah held her hand up to cut you off from speaking any more, "Monkey, she's 3! You know that she listens to everything that you say!" The blonde's face is furious and you know that you did mess up this time.
You should really try and stop talking, but of course you do the exact opposite.
Shrugging your shoulders, you go back to staring at the Instagram screen, "There's kids that have said so much worse--"
"Ah, ah, no I said I don't want to hear it!" The blonde states, firmly, "Stop talkin', Monkey!"
"I'm just sayin' that I'm not surprised she hasn't picked up something worse," You insist, knowing there's been times where you've been playing on the PS and your not so colourful language has slipped out, "So many things worse than that word."
"Your really diggin' your own grave here, Menace," Leah states, continuing to look at you annoyed before she looks over to her mini-me, "Buddy, can you come here a second?" She calls over to get 3 year old's attention.
"Hi mummy," The little one flashes the blonde an innocent smile, before she runs over to you both with her hands still clutching the teddy bear, "Look, I got Mr. Bear!"
"Yeah I can see that, Buddy," The blonde laughs faintly, hoisting the toddler up onto her hip, "Listen here, missus, me and you need to have a little chat."
"About what, mummy?" Buddy cocks her head to the side, curiously.
You can't help but snicker in amusement, "You got a sailor mouth and half, Buddy-- Which she totally didn't get off me!" You start to speak as you see the scowl Leah's giving you and are quick to state to avoid the wrath of the blonde, "Alright, I'm just gonna... I'm gonna shut up now."
"Wise decision," Leah comments, pursing her lips before she turns her attention to the little one in the room, "We need to talk about the er, the sentence that you said." She tells, not really sure how best to approach this.
Buddy continues to look confused, "What sen... sentence?"
"The one that you said to Mr. Bear over there," Leah explains, exhaling a sigh.
"Oh!" Buddy's eyes widen in realisation, "You mean when I told him that the bubbles are pink, Jackass?" The question sounds so innocent coming from your favourite little buddy.
You can't help but crack up laughing right there again, "You can't blame me for that once this time!" Moving to drop your bowl into the sink, you lean up against the kitchen counter as you can't wait to hear the rest of how this conversation is going to play out.
"Whoa whoa whoa," Leah is quick to stop Buddy from saying anything further, "Okay there's no need to repeat it again, Buddy. Can you tell mummy why you said it?" She wonders.
The 3 year old exhales a sigh dramatically and you swear she even did so much as roll her eyes, "Because mummy, the bubbles are pink!"
"Final piece," You speak aloud, accepting the lego block from your favourite little buddy as you attach it to the rest of it, "And there we go, done!" You announce, grinning proudly.
"Yay!" Buddy lets' out an excited squeal and claps her hands, "Can we do more now?" She questions with a glint of hope in her eyes.
You shrug your shoulders carelessly, "Eh, I don't see why not. Which one shall we build now?" You wonder.
Much to Leah's relief, your little buddy hadn't had any slip ups with her newfound sailor mouth.
You didn't fancy taking the blame for that one, again.
"This one!" The toddler points to the new lego set that you'd both picked out together and claps her hands in excitement.
You love how much she loves lego, its' great because it means you can do it together!
You can't help but get carried away with it sometimes.
"Alright, time to get ready for bed now, Buddy!" Leah interrupts the fun that your both having with the lego set.
Buddy looks up at Leah with an adorable pout, "No, mummy. 5 more minutes!" She insists.
Your an absolute sucker for her puppy dog eyes most of the time.
That's why your guilty of letting her get away with so much, sometimes.
Well, actually, pretty much all of the time.
"Come on, you've had long enough," Leah shakes her head in disagreement, "It's time to put your jammies on and get into bed now."
"But mummy," Buddy tries her luck to push for extra time.
Leah smiles a little and shakes her head once again, "No, come on. There will be plenty of time to play with lego tomorrow," Her decision remains firm but still gentle with her mini-me, "Come on, let's go."
"No fair," The 3 year old huffs dramatically and gets up from the floor.
What can you say? She's taking lessons from you.
You even swear she's sometimes more dramatic than you, if that's possible.
"I know," The blonde can't help but laugh amusedly at the toddlers' flare for dramatics.
"No playin' lego without me, Monkey!" Buddy states, bluntly, "I mean it!"
For a 3 year old, she sure is bossy sometimes, and well, no doubt where she gets that from.
"You got it, Bud!" You mock salute the mini blonde, jokingly.
With that being said, you flop onto the sofa and scroll through your TikTok page while Leah takes Buddy upstairs to get ready for bed.
"Wait, Monkey needs to join us for the story!" Ten minutes later, you hear protests from your favourite little buddy upstairs.
It's a routine every single night.
You suppress a grin and jump up from the sofa to head up the stairs two at a time, "I heard my name mentioned!" You exclaim, walking into the bedroom to find Buddy dressed in her pajamas while Leah's searching for a book to read.
You don't know why she bothers to find a new one though, when Buddy always end up wanting to read the same thing every time.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
"Agh! Monkey!" The sound of Buddy's shrieks fill the room as you lift her up and spin her around.
"Do you have to rile her up so much before she's about to go to bed?" Leah questions, exhaling a sigh as she picks out the same book.
Shocker, you already knew it would be that.
You mischievously grin at the blonde, "Can't help it now, can I?" Placing the toddler on the floor, she beams a wide smile at you.
"I'm goin' bed now, Monkey. Mummy's gonna read a story!" Buddy states clear as day, sometimes your impressed by the 3 year old's vocabulary.
Her speech is somewhat impeccable for her age.
"You are?" You faux a gasp as her little hands cling around your legs, "Alright, well I guess we'd better get comfy for storytime, eh?" You question, teasingly.
"Uh huh!" Buddy's more than happy to drag you in the direction of her toddler sized bed and your more than happy to oblige to anything that the 3 year old wants.
Like you said, you were easily convinced to do anything when it comes to your favourite little buddy.
"Alright then kids, are we both comfy?" Leah chuckles, watching you as you settle into the small bed beside the 3 year old, its' not that comfortable but Buddy's happy and that's the main thing right now.
"Comfy," You reply, giving her a mocking thumbs up.
"Comfy," Buddy mimics you, giving the blonde a thumbs up as well.
"How many times' are we gonna say the word comfy?" You joke, referring back to the video that the blonde did with Keira during an England camp.
"Menace," Leah lets out a laugh and shakes her head, before she begins to read the story book.
You know most of the lines in the book, so you can't help but read it out word for word, much to Buddy's protest.
"Monkey, stop. Mummy's reading!" Your favourite little buddy huffs, glaring at you almost identical to the way that Leah usually does.
Although coming from a 3 year old is less terrifying at least.
"Sorry, sorry," You can't help but chuckle, trying to refrain from speaking any more of the words out loud to avoid any further annoyance from the 3 year old.
"Alright, all done," Leah states, closing the book and smiles at the sight of you both curled up together, Buddy's fighting to stay awake and your not far behind her, "Time to close your eyes, Buddy."
At least until you hear Buddys' next words.
Buddy lets' out a small yawn as she tiredly rubs her eyes, "Goodnight, Jackass!"
You can't help but snicker, "Oh now that is hilarious," Quickly catching the look of the stern blonde, you move your hand to cover your face to stifle any further laughter.
"Excuse me?" Leah's taken back by the response from the 3 year old.
"I believe she said--" You start to speak.
"I heard what she said!" Leah is quick to cut you off from repeating what the little one said as she turns to look at the youngster, "Buddy, why... why did you just call mummy that name?" She asks, confused.
"Cos' you are, and its' not a bad word. Even Monkey said so!" There goes your favourite little buddy throwing you right under the bus.
Damn it.
"Whoa, whoa, no, uh technically, I didn't... I didn't say that you were!" Your hands fly up in surrender, "I mean I didn't even say it like that, but uh..."
By the annoyed expression on the blondes' face, you decide to make the smart decision and shut up.
"You really need to watch your language around her," Leah murmurs, exhaling a sigh, "You know she literally absorbs words like a sponge nowadays!" Shes' scolding you, like it was all of your fault.
Well, technically... You didn't help matters, but you didn't think she would repeat it.
"That's right, Jackass!" Buddy exclaims, smiling like she was completely proud of herself.
Your not quite sure if she understands what the word means or not, but there's something funny about hearing swear words come out of a little kids' mouth.
"Hey, Buddy," Leah gets the attention of the 3 year old, "We don't swear and say words like that, do we?" She chides gently, but still trying to remain firm.
Buddy pouts in confusion, "Why not, mummy? Monkey says it all the time!" She insists.
Well that's backfired on you now.
You drop your mouth in shock, "Wha..."
Leah clicks her tongue in disappointment, "Yes and Monkey's shouldn't be using them sort of words either," She takes a moment to scowl at you while your just sat there cracking up laughing about it all, "You're not helping here, go and do something productive!"
You stand up from the toddlers' bed and hold your hands up in mock surrender, "Geesh, I say one bad word and suddenly I'm the bad guy round here." You murmur, jokingly.
"Go, now!" The blonde gestures in the direction of the bedroom door, shaking her head in disagreement, "Listen Buddy, you should know that even when you hear Monkey say words like that, it doesn't mean that you should always repeat them, okay?" You hear her continue to speak to Buddy as you make your way out of the bedroom.
"What, even when she says shit?" Buddy doesn't think twice to ask.
Leah exhales a short sigh, "Even when she says them words."
"But what about when you and mama say words like that, though?" Buddy questions innocently, cocking her head to the side with an expression that looks somewhat identical to Leah's.
"Ha, she got you there!" You can't help but snicker in amusement.
"Monkey!" Leah shouts to you in that firm tone of voice your all too familiar with.
"I'm goin', I'm goin'. Geesh!" You huff and continue to make your way to your own bedroom where you plan to watch another marvel film, or you were gonna but ear wigging is so much more fun sometimes.
"Sometimes, yes, even mama and I say words like that at certain times, but you still shouldn't be repeating them, okay?" Leah tells Buddy, trying to get her point across but in a gentle tone of voice.
"Okay, mummy!" Buddy nods along in agreement.
"So no more of the swearing, alright, little miss potty mouth?" Leah jokes, ruffling her mini-me's hair.
"You got it, dude," Buddy nods once again and sticks her thumb up, "Ove' you, Mummy!"
"That's my girl," Leah smiles and presses a gentle kiss on the 3 year old's forehead, "Night Buddy, I love you lots!"
Buddy lets out a small yawn and tiredly rubs her eyes, "Goodnight, Jackass."
You can't help but snort aloud in amusement once again, "Oh man, this kid!" You crack up with laughter, peering your head round the door and seeing the unamused expression on Leah's face once again.
"Right that's it, we're getting a swear jar!" Leah declares, shaking her head in disbelief.

Would Mabel being the reincarnation of Bill cause a rift between her and her family? I imagine that even though they know that Mabel and Bill are two different people it'd be kinda hard to get over the fact they ARE fundamentally the same being, especially for Ford.
Now, that's the problem. They AREN'T two different people. That's the whole point of this specific AU's take on reincarnation. It's not "Mabel happens to now possess the soul that was formerly used by some other guy" but rather "this is that guy after working on himself for thirteen years, she just didn't remember it until now."
"We know you're two different people" is the kind of thing her family might say to be reassuring. But in her ears it'd be like if she's on trial for murder and her family says "We love you because we know you're innocent," when actually she did totally commit that murder, and it was premeditated, and she didn't even have a sympathetic motive. Like it's nice of you guys to say that and I know you mean well, but if you only love me because you think I didn't do anything wrong, would you still love me if you understood the truth?
The biggest rift is on Mabel's end. She's holding back from letting them find out for as long as possible. It's not coming out until they put together the evidence themselves or she has a breakdown and confesses while in tears. And, naturally, when she's trying to keep that big a secret from them, she's gonna be withdrawn.
Like, there's a very high probability that Gideon finds out before any of the Pines do, that's how hard she's trying to keep it from her family.
When they DO start finding out?
Dipper's known Mabel almost fourteen years; he knew Bill two months. He's gonna get over it the fastest.
He's cracking annoying brother jokes before you know it. "I mean—you didn't manage to kill me in the womb, I don't think you're gonna do it now." "I forgive you for the sock puppet thing but now I REALLY wish I'd done more dumb stuff in your body while we were body swapped. As pre-revenge."
If anything, ultimately this turns out to be GREAT news for Dipper. He spent all last summer being pissed off that Bill had all the secrets of the universe and just wouldn't share them, to be a dick. WELL GUESS WHAT. NOW THEY'RE SHARING A BEDROOM. He's keeping her up until 3 a.m. asking about every conspiracy theory in history until Mabel lies "sorry, my memory of that one hasn't come back yet. Maybe my memories would return faster if I could GET SOME SLEEP..."
Stan's known Mabel off and on for fourteen years, and has gotten to know her really well over the past year; he knew Bill for—lemme check how long his death scene is—under two minutes.
Try to tell Stan that Mabel's Bill and his first reaction is "WELL THAT'S STUPID AND I DON'T BELIEVE IT." "But she can set fires with her brain." "Sometimes teenage girls do that! I saw it in a horror movie!" He's gonna process the news about the same way he'd process it if Mabel told him that she's some gender he's never heard of before: he's confused and too damn old to understand this complicated identity stuff, but he loves her even if he only understands half of what's going on, and he'll punch anybody who looks at her funny because of it.
Ford's only known Mabel since last summer; he's known Bill over 32 years.
This AU ain't a fic, so there's not a single set plotline, just a whole bunch of ideas that may or may not actually happen if I were ever to turn it into a story; and because of that there's a lot of ways things could go down with Ford, on a wild scale from hilarious to heartwarming to tragic, depending on what I think is interesting on any given day. But in many potential timelines, the first and most pressing question Ford's facing isn't "can I still love Mabel even if she was—is—Bill?"
It's "How do I kill Bill again?"
Because he knows Mabel the least and knows Bill the best, he has the best odds of looking past what everyone else sees as "haha that's just Mabel being Mabel!" and going "that's Bill fucking Cipher"; and because he hates Bill the most, he's the absolute last person Mabel would voluntarily tell about her exciting new personal discovery—meaning that he just has to draw his own conclusions. If he sees Bill looking at him through this little girl's eyes and clearly trying to convince Ford that he's not Bill he's gonna assume Bill's back from the dead and possessing his niece.
If Ford finds out, Mabel's not just afraid he won't love her anymore; she's also afraid he'll want her dead. If anything, him thinking she's possessed would be a good thing, because it'll buy her a little time while he's looking for a way to "extract" Bill to "save" Mabel, whereas if he knows the truth he'll know there's no Mabel to save.
Worst case scenario, she fears that, if he finds out, she's dead as soon as he can get his hands on her—unless she can find a way to defend herself.
Of course, this is Gravity Falls, where the power of love & family always wins, so in reality if he found out no that IS Mabel it'd stay his hand while he tries to figure out what's going on. His hatred for Bill is weaker than his love for his family. But she doesn't know that.
After all, Mabel's known Ford for 32 years, and for 30 of them he was on a suicidal vengeance quest to kill her; he's only been her grunkle since last summer.

2-year anniversary post
My blog is now 2-years old~!
After my last anniversary post, I had quite a list of projects planned; in addition to making posts for all the upcoming SxF content, like the movie, season 2, and the video game, I had other personal projects in mind as well. I wanted to start on my Japanese Linguistic Observations in Spy x Family series, which I was able to write five posts for as of now! (I've currently exhausted all the topics I wanted to discuss for that, but I may come up with more ideas later on). There was also the Spy x Family Character Tracker, which took me a while to get motivated to do, but once I did, I'm proud of how it turned out 😃 I also made a lot of scan posts this year too, like the workbooks and my series of miscellaneous collab scans.
But compared to my last anniversary, which was at a time when there was a lot of new SxF content on the horizon, we've been in a bit of a dry spell the past several months. Hype for the aforementioned movie, game, and anime season have died down, and merch and collabs have slowed as well, since there hasn't been new anime content to promote. But I consider it the calm before the storm, lol.
This is also why my posts have gotten a little less frequent lately - there hasn't been as much new SxF content in general besides the manga chapters, and as mentioned previously, I was able to check off the projects I had wanted to do. So as of now, I don't have much new content planned in the coming year besides continuing my Chronological Analysis on Twilight and Yor series when season 3 airs (still no release date yet, but I'm betting on spring of 2025). I'll also make posts for each anime episode like I did with season 2. And of course, I'll continue my manga chapter reviews, and make merch and scan posts when I can.
I've always tried to maintain a "quality over quantity," "only write when I have something to say," mentality for the blog. I don't want to force myself to write when I'm not motivated (this is also why I don't take part in community writing projects and the like). I also have other hobbies besides SxF, so I like to focus my limited free time on those when there isn't much going on in the SxF fandom. Occasionally I think to myself, "Hm, I haven't posted on Tumblr in a while," but if there isn't anything I feel like writing about at the time, it's better if I hold off rather than force myself to churn out something uninspiring.
But as I said, I feel like we're in a calm before the storm. Season 3 will already be exciting enough, but there's a good chance more content will follow. The next Jump Festa is scheduled for late December, and as usual, SxF will have a dedicated panel with the four Forger voice actors in attendance!
The movie and season 2 were announced at this event in 2022, so there's a good chance we'll get more juicy announcements this year! Even if not another movie, I'd be happy with more artbooks, collabs, and other things down the line! There's also a good chance an idea for another SxF project will inspire me and I'll start working on that. Who knows. But I do know SxF is still a popular series with many more years of content to produce! And I look forward to seeing, and blogging about, it all 😁

autumn reminders.
bruce wayne x male reader.
summary: in the start of autumn, you surprise bruce with lunch because he hasn't been taking care of himself.
wc: 1.3k. warnings: fluff, kinda angst(?), comfort! fic, established relationship, mentions of food, bruce is overworked, he's also horny, worried!reader, touchy!bruce, husband!bruce.
a/n: a short little one-shot because i miss writing for bruce! and autumn is finally here, so i can finally wear my sweaters!! idk, i feel bad for not updating as much, and i also didn't want to only update with smut, lol. but i hope you guys enjoy it! <3 maybe i'll write something about pumpkin spice coffee soon!
the building absorbed the heavy clacks of your suede oxfords as you ambled along the halls. tall windows lined by your side, illuminating you in the afternoon with every step, and occasionally, you’d pause to snap a photo at the autumn vista. it was approaching quick: the cooler weather, the stronger gales, and the changing leaves. while you loved the season most for bringing out your sweaters and coats—most importantly, the autumn season brought in curated festivals, decoration, and your favorite: the autumn menu.
“oh—mister wayne, do you need help with that?” an employee was quick to turn on his heel as you passed by him, but he caught in in four steps, wide-eyed when you turned at the sound of his voice.
“no, it’s all right! figured this would be my punishment for skipping out arm-day!” though you struggled maintaining the weight of several paper bags in your arms and two coffee cups, a smile of assurance and a thumbs up, barely visible in between the grasp of the cup and the height of the bags, reluctantly sent the employee on his way to his duties.
the smile on your face was radiant, much more than a few seconds ago. it’s been almost a year, but it hasn’t gotten old yet—being called mister wayne.
it only took a few more minutes, a fresh bruise to the elbow when you bumped into a wall, and then a scare when you almost dropped your coffee before you were at bruce’s door. before you could put the bags and cups down to open it, it flew open with a confident swing and you jolted from the gentle ambush, hugging the paper bags closer to your body to still the weight.
“why didn’t you tell me you were coming?” the ache in your arms was immediately relieved once you stepped inside bruce’s office, the latter taking a bag for himself and setting it on his coffee table after locking the door closed.
“were you watching the security cameras again?” you followed, setting the other bag next to it, as well as the two coffee cups before then stretching your arms above your head, a pleasurable groan kicking a strum from your throat.
“well, yes—wanted to see if you could make it up here without getting lost.” bruce chuckled, reaching out to firmly squeeze your tense shoulders twice. “but the secretary also told me you were heading up.” you groaned again, at the confession and the aggressive touch, playfully flicking his hands away while you were bent over to disperse the takeout from the paper bags. but bruce persisted with a firmer grasp, massaging your shoulders when he lined behind your figure.
“you’re kidding! she promised me she wouldn’t!“ the rigid touch of bruce’s hands eventually wandered off into gentle squeezes to your sides, waist, and bottom. your chest rose for a deep inhale, glancing at the locked door as you stood straight again, and then deflated, exhaling, when a single hand found its home on your stomach, warm and heavy on the layers of clothing, only to escape when it took slow dive to the compress of your belt, nudging the sturdy leather with his fingertips.
there was a sudden weight on your left shoulder. he hooked his chin over the narrow muscle to peek over at his hands fiddling with the leather strap, kissing your neck in midst of the fidgeting. “shouldn’t have bought you this—it was easier when you had that cheaper belt.”
“I knew you’d come around to the idea of second-hand clothing!” the surge of veins in your neck as you laughed vibrated against his lips, and bruce joined you in quiet chuckles, his arms holding you tight when he finally unbuckled your belt.
there was a satisfied sound from bruce, sinking into your skin as he continued on kissing your neck, when he removed your belt, and as much as you wanted your husband right now, the ache down south aiding this frustration as it demanded you to ignore the smell of the cooling takeout, your stomach grumbled when the aroma of the sandwiches was resolute and stung your nostrils. the smell of deli meat unfurled in the air to claim its next victim, and the sound of bruce’s stomach groused after.
“lunch first.” you rolled your head back into his shoulders, matching his doting gaze with a smile as you admired his looks for the nth time since you’ve met him. “year is ending soon, so i know you have a lot of late meetings to attend to.”
bruce’s slicked-back hair revealed more of the fine wrinkles on his forehead and emphasized the sharpness of his features. you were embarrassed to admit that upon first meeting him, you were too intimidated by his presence to revel in his beauty like everyone else did. even when you’ve gotten to know him, it had always been his story that had stoned you by his side.
“i know, i’m sorry. I’ll try to come home early, but i can’t promise that.”
now that you’ve read every chapter of his life up to this point, you could finally take the time to appreciate how handsome he was. beyond surface level features, you could allude every small detail on his face to the novel of bruce wayne, down to every page, because you were a part of his life now. your hand cupped his cheek as your thumb laved over his eye-bags, tender in its warm stride. bruce hummed, leaning into your palm and watching you silently as seconds went by.
“don’t apologize! i’ll visit you when you have time, yeah? don’t overwork yourself too. alfred’s been nagging at me to bring you meals, so consider this part of your daily routine now! and you’ve been skipping out on dinner because of—”
it was like he knew what you were about to say, about his double-life as a vigilante. your gaze grew concerning. he had noted how your brows knitted together when you were reluctant to say something, when something had been bothering you.
when the words caught in your throat, bruce seized the opportunity to kiss your worries away instead. it made him feel better—knew it made you feel better—even if it was temporarily, and he pressed harder into your lips, kissing every corner of flesh until his own worries regarding your safety had briefly perished.
bruce was never good with his words.
he pulled away with a delighted sigh, leaning his forehead onto yours once he turned you back around, and his palms immediately found themselves warming your flushed cheeks. "i'll be okay."
but he was willing to try, for you.
"i have no doubts about that. i just need you to be extra, extra okay." the image of a bloodied bruce months ago still haunted you in your wake, but it only took a gentle press of bruce's palms to reel you back into the haven of his arms.
bruce laughed, and upon noticing that it only raised another level of fret within you, a deeper ribbon threading your eyebrows closer, he pressed the tip of his nose to yours like he did the very first time he held you, and kissed your lips again.
"i'll be extra, extra, extra okay." he assured with your tired murmurs, and you sighed into them as if they were a lullaby, sinking into his arms completely.
your lips danced with his in a slow and calming waltz, and you shuddered when the breeze from the acceleration of your pulse surged though your chest. bruce held you closer to his body, pressing the swell of your heart to his own and puzzling every individual beat until they fused as one, pulsated into one another.
“so, sandwiches, huh? does alfred know that i’m eating terrible? something that isn't from his own hands?"
“not if you tell him, asshole.”

Baby Demon
A/N: You are responsible for your own media consumption. MDNI 18+. The reader is 3/4 years old so her talking seems off and she displays babyish behaviour
Pairing: So’lek x Fem! Human child !Reader,
Word count: 3,813
Synopsis: So’lek discovers a human child living among the Aranahe clan and eventually takes over being her parental figure
[Request are open]
Once the Aranahe agreed to work with the resistance once more, So’lek would often stop by to check in with the clan leaders. One day when visiting the hometree something caught his attention. There was a group of children roughhousing but what caught his attention was the pale skin in the sea of blue bodies. When he went to deal with what he thought was a no good human. Etuwa had made it clear the little human girl was an Aranahe. Over time Solek kept watching her, but she really was just a child he watched as she rough housed with other Na'vi children wrestling, biting ears and pulling tails like the others. After a while he starts to ease up, being constantly alert is exhausting and eventually he decides to just let her be a child. She hasn't tried to do anything nefarious. He still watched her though, waiting to see if she reveals any traits or actions that might be concerning to him.
One day he catches the middle of a rough interaction " no ! That's mine " (Y/N) spoke trying to keep away one of the other children from her cloth doll she constantly carried with her. So'lek's ears twitch and he steps close to the scene. "Hey now! That is not how we share here, you need to respect each other's toys." He looked down on her,
"I know it can be difficult sometimes, but you have to be considerate of others. Okay? Can you promise me you will share more often?" she nodded . "Good." He smiled kindly before letting her run back off to play with the others. Although it seemed to have gotten through to her this time around, he still feels uneasy about the whole situation of keeping her in the clan. She played a bit longer before the children were each called back to their mothers taking their toys with them. She waited to take her doll back. He waited patiently for her, seeing that despite all her stubbornness she did actually follow his instructions in the end. He couldn't deny it, she was getting a little bit better. When all the children left she grabbed her toy. Solek was standing nearby but he didn't say anything, he was just watching her, waiting to make sure she didn't slip up again. She came back to the doorway waiting for someone to come get her
He walks over to her as she is waiting and kneels down to her size. "Are you waiting for someone?" He asks, he knows she was looked after by Etuwa. She nodded, "Why don't we wait for her together?" Solek reaches out trying to pull her towards himself. "Come here, 'I'll wait with you." She moved beside him
He wraps his arm around her and sits her on his lap. "How long do you think she's going to be?"
She shrugged gently"Well, I'm sure she won't be long. Let's just wait a little while longer. " He continues to hold her close to him.
"Do you really like that toy? It is a bit worn." "My toy" she hummed. He chuckled and gave her a look before returning his eyes to her toy. "Yes, your toy. You are quite protective over it, just like a Toruk protecting its nest " He smirked and poked her nose gently. She sneezedAt her sneeze he smiled softly and let go of her. "It's alright, I'm not going to steal it from you." He sat her back down and started to stand up once more. "I will leave you now, but I want you to make sure that you share your toys with the other children okay?"He gives her one last gentle rub on her head. ” But my toy. " she softly whined
" Your toy, but you must share it." He repeats his words, this time sounding more stern.
He waits for a moment to make sure he gets through to her, he knows how stubborn she can be.
“ But it break " He frowned, he knew she wasn't just being protective; she was scared that her toy would get broken.
From that moment on she’d constantly follow him around whenever he visited the clan like a pa’li foal following its mother . He had been away for a few weeks. When he returned to the Aranahe he had been there for two days, he hadn't seen her at all. She had been out of sight for two days, which was unusual because she was usually all over the place. He had a bad feeling in his gut, he decided he would go search for her. He found her in the healing den on one of the sleep pallets she looked sickly pale
To see this little girl so pale and so weak, it hit him in a way he didn't expect. His mood instantly softened as he approached the bed. He walked over to her, "Hi yawntutsyìp, I had been starting to wonder where you were. You aren't looking too good." She smiled when she saw him "So'lek"
His face lights up at the smile from her, he was so taken back by it that he forgot about all the frustration and anger he had felt towards this child. "I am happy to see that you still remember me" He replies, his tone softens slightly as he squats in front of the bed. Her small smile remained ,but her eyes were glazed over. Seeing her just so lifeless with the slight glazy eyes really hit him, she truly looked so frail.
He was reminded of everything he had thought before when seeing her. Now he could see his fears had been misplaced, she was just a little girl.
He reached out, holding her tiny hand in his. "How are you feeling sweetheart?’ "Want ma Sa'nu "
He gave her a small squeeze. She held onto his hand her tiny hand wrapped around just 2 of his fingertips
The tiny hand squeezed around two barely visible fingers was a stark reminder of how small she actually is. He looked away once more, he was getting more and more aware of the fact he was becoming attached to this girl. He stayed by her side till she dozed off, To see her so sick and vulnerable really hit him on an emotional level because she was so young. It wasn't how he expected her to be. As she slept it seemed like her breathing was shallow. He noticed her breathing was shallow, it made him worry even more. His fingers tightened a little around hers as if the squeeze was going to actually do something, but it was more to calm himself than her. When he saw Etuwa returning, he felt a sudden surge of relief, "Has she been like this for long?"
" she was fine but then the rest of the children cot a cold we thought that's what she had but everyone was better after a few days she's been getting worse "
This was worse than he imagined, this girl was too young to be having this serious of an illness.
"She was asking for you before she fell asleep." "for me?" Etuwa asked confused
"she was saying Ma Sa'nu " He didn't want to get in her way of healing the child but he at least wanted to inform her of something important. "No, she's been asking for her mother since yesterday. She says names but I can't understand them. She constantly calls for her mother, " Etuwa said. "Wait... She wanted her mother, not you?" Now he was completely baffled, "Yes but we're not sure where she's from . We found her when we attacked one of the sky people convoys she was in the back of one of their trucks but it seemed she was a prisoner and she was dressed like any other Na'vi child"
The news of her being a prisoner hit him like a gut punch, he knew the humans were bad people but this was something entirely on a different level.
"A prisoner?" He mumbled softly to himself, he felt more anger at humans growing inside him.
"Yes she was dressed like a Na'vi So'lek, Loincloth, she had braids in her hair with beads, she had a song cord, some jewelry but no knife, " Etuwa explained. No knife ment she was too young to be away from her parents. Every bit of this information was like a little dagger to the heart for him. He sat quietly, trying to wrap his head around the possibility that this little girl was stolen from her parents. If it was the case then his anger towards humans was going to increase tenfold.
"Wait ... you aren't from the western frontier, you are from the southern rainforest, yes?" Etuwa asked him
He nodded his head silently, thinking about the situation. He had heard rumors for the longest time that the humans were kidnapping children and this just proved it. "Maybe you can identify her clothing" Etuwa went to get a basket bringing it Solek as she came over with a basket, he was going to do anything to identify this little girl and return her back to where she rightfully belonged. She dumped the contents of the basket. It was a whole outfit. He inspected the clothes inside of the basket, each item inside of it was so tiny and so childlike that seeing them just made his heart hurt. He recognized them, they were typical for the southern forests. But it didn't make sense how she was found so far off from the forests.
A tiny loincloth a small necklace like top that would dangle down the chest for a child , a song cord \, jewelry and a handful of hair beads. It was easy to tell how young she was based on her attire, it looked like her outfit was tailored just for her. It was obvious seeing now how much care was put into each piece to make it look special. Now he was wondering just how young this little girl was, her clothing was just so tiny and childish that it made his heart break even more. Etuwa sighed " so young so far from her family"
"She is only a child, she shouldn't be so far from her family or anywhere she isn't safe."
A wave of anger washed over him, he tried to bury it down but it kept hitting him in waves of pure rage.
She was just a little baby, she didn't deserve such an unjust cruel fate.
"What exactly is wrong with her that she is so sick?"
He asked, still trying to remain calm but he could feel his rage towards humans growing more and more.
"We don't know Solek we thought she had the same cold as the other children they got better in 2-3 days
4 at most but she's just been getting worse her fever broke two nights ago and she looked better but then she got like this again "
There had to be something wrong for her to be getting so much worse. She was a small baby, she was too young to be so sick, it was most likely a human illness .
He felt so helpless, his anger grew as she continued to get worse. (Y/N) had started to cough violently His face grew soft and worried, the tiny girl couldn't even stop the violent coughing. She was so small and so sick, it just made him angrier. He couldn't help feeling some sort of sympathy for this little baby.
He reached out, taking her hand once more. Etuwa grabbed a bowl of water and a cloth and started to wipe her down hoping to get her fever down. When she started to wipe her down so gently his heart broke, she was just trying to bring down the fever and that was clearly not. working. No normal fever would do this to a toddler. His rage against the RDA was growing with every passing second as he saw the little child get worse and worse. “ I can take her to the base and they can give her their treatments” . It was silent for a moment but Etuwa gave in. It was the little one's best chance.
He brought her to the base and it it had taken two weeks before she was even a sliver better but she was still on death's door It felt like the world was going in slow motion, he had watched this little baby decline for two weeks.Every little thing was a struggle for her, even breathing seemed almost impossible. She was practically just a tiny skeleton at this point. Her little hands were thin and frail, he could just feel her body shaking under his grip. He unfortunately had to leave on another mission and left her in the care of Ri’nela when he returned she immediately saw him " So'lek! " on shaky legs she toddled towards him
He was speechless, he was convinced that she would die just a few days ago and now she was walking.
She was very shaky but she walked. He quickly moved towards her to catch her before she could fall on the floor. She was so tiny yet so full of energy, a completely different child from how she was just days ago. She smiled up at him. Her smile lit up his heart, in just one moment he felt a glimmer of hope.
This little child had gone from almost dead to smiling and running to him. He bent down to meet her at eye- level, she was just so tiny. But the fact she was smiling at him with such pure and innocence just made him grow a soft spot for her. She babbled to him in a mixture of English and Na'vi words (
He listened to her quietly, trying to understand what she was saying but it was difficult with the mixture of languages. But still he smiled back, listening to her go on and on. She was so happy to see him, he couldn't help but smile with a soft spot growing in his heart. She offered him a string with a few beads on it. He accepted the string, looking at it as he examined every little bead. He wanted to make it seem like he cared a lot about her gift, so he examined it in detail as if he'd never seen such jewelry. It really showed how soft he had become towards her, even though it was a small thing it made him genuinely happy to see the smile on her face.
She smiled more, holding onto him watching. It didn't take long for him to notice that she was holding on to him, she seemed to want him to hold her so he obliged. He took her up in his arms, letting her head rest on his chest. He held her for a while before he took her inside back to medical where she could rest for a while. the next time he saw her was at communal dinner she was a bit stronger so Ri’nela had brought her out to eat with him and the other sarentu the little one was wrapped and bundled in a blanket but she seemed awake enough He was extremely pleased to see her being able to stay awake for this time, when he saw her seated at the fire wrapped in a blanket, he couldn't stop himself from beaming. She was so tiny and adorable, it brought a bit of a smile to his face seeing how much she had started to recover. She sat in Ri’nela’s lap and picked off her plate eating with her hands. "Does it taste good?" He asked, he felt very happy just looking at her, she was trying to recover which was enough for the small victory. He would enjoy every moment while she was recovering, even if it was only this much. She raised her little hand with a fistful offering him some. He chuckled and smiled, he was extremely delighted and amazed at just how sweet this little girl was and how she even offered him some of her food without hesitation. He gladly accepted the offered food, grabbing it gently and starting to eat it slowly.
Halfway through the meal she started getting sleepy. He chuckled softly when he started to notice just how drowsy she was becoming, the poor thing had been awake for so long. He finished his meal and stood up, walking over towards where the na’vi lived . He walked the sleeping little one and placed her in the sleep pallet. She immediately spread out on the sleep pallet. That was another thing that was quite adorable, the little child spread out almost completely on the sleep pallet, she still took up very little space even while doing this. He reached out stroking her hair gently and she stirred at the touch. She opened her eyes but she was still half asleep" Baba?" She was confused "Shh dear"He whispered softly, he wanted to keep her calm and make her feel safe no matter if she was awake or sleeping. He continued to run his hands through her hair, his soft whisper continued. She turned her head the other way, shimming a bit further up the pallet nuzzling the furs. Her nuzzling into the furries brought a gentle laugh out of him. She was just so cute, even in such a tired state she could manage to hold her own. He chuckled as she nuzzled further into the furs, he continued to stroke her hair gently. She went back to sleep for a while but unfortunately woke up later disoriented and confused calling for her family, she slipped out of bed walking out in an oversized shirt and loincloth she slept in looking for her adults " Sa’nu ? ...... baba?" Hearing her call out in a soft and tiny voice broke his heart. He rushed to catch up to her, wrapping his arms around her and picking her up. He knew she was probably just half awake and the shock of waking up alone had made her disorientated.
"I'm here" He said as he held her close to him. He knew she was most likely used to sleeping in a family hammock. He started to rock her slightly, to hopefully soothe her back to a calm state. His heart broke for her, she was just so little yet she was going through so much. She was probably used to being in a family hammock and she must have woken up in distress when she realized she was alone. She fell asleep, little arm raised above her head and hand in a little fist He gently lifted her small hand to his lips and kissed it; he couldn't resist the urge. She was just so tiny. She looked very peaceful when asleep, the stress of life was gone for a bit and she could just sleep. She continued to sleep. He continued to watch over her, he didn't want to miss a second of her sleeping. She looked so sweet and peaceful, it was hard to understand why humans would be so terrible to have a tiny child like this taken from her family. She was so young and she should be at home with her mother and father surrounded by her siblings and friends.
She slept a good chunk of the night on him. The whole night he had sat there watching her while she slept on him. He didn't want to wake her up from her slumber so he just stayed quiet and sat there watching her.
She was just so adorable and such a sweet little thing. He really hoped that life didn't treat her too harshly when she grew older. He couldn't imagine how painful it felt for her to be away from her family, to have lost everything she had known.
Bonus:
a few years had passed since he had met the little girl and he had grown even more attached to her in that time. He had grown to the point where he was starting to become extremely protective of her, he didn't want anything bad to ever happen to the little one. He had even started teaching her some basic hunting and survival skills over the years. She was slowly growing up and starting to become independent, he couldn't help but watch her and be proud of how far she had come in such a short amount of time despite her situation. She watched him from the shadows stocking him like pray waiting for her moment He was out alone in the forest, hunting for game. He had gone out pretty far into the forest as he was following the tracks of a large animal.
He looked around the forest, he felt as if he was being watched and that something was watching him but he was unsure.
He had already spotted tracks of a large game that he was interested in attempting to hunt down, he decided that he would continue to track it and hoped that no one or nothing was actually watching him.
She shot up at him pouncing on his tail " got you Solek !" Surprise crossed his face as she jumped on his tail, he would have not expected that she would do something like that. His first reaction was laughter as he smiled up at the young girl.
"Well well it seems you've caught me"
He playfully grabbed her into his arms "You're getting better at this game." He said with a proud grin. She was becoming fast and quick on her feet, it was a little more intimidating every single time she pounced on him from behind. She might be a small adopted human, but she was very fast and fierce. She scaled up his back clinging to him not planning to go anywhere. He chuckled as he felt her latch onto his back.
She was quite small compared to him and it was quite funny to see her hanging onto him and her small legs wrapping around him tightly.
She truly was like a monkey, he wasn't sure if it was just because she liked to play this way or if there was something else to this.
He didn't complain though, he enjoyed playing with her and she seemed to enjoy this game a lot."Are you getting comfy back there?"
He asked with a chuckle, still allowing her to remain on his back. He could feel her small legs clinging tightly to around his midsection, she was definitely holding on for dear life. He would have to be careful not to move too quickly from now on with her on his back, but he wasn't going to complain about the little extra weight.

Soundtrack:
⏯️Play -Runaway Kids by HARBOUR
“Where we've gone, it all just feels the same
I found that sun
Wouldn't you know, now I miss the rain
We're the runaway kids
Let's escape, we'll get there some day
Hey yo, don't you know
Life's too short to take it slow
We go where we wanna go”
The next days I spent 24/7 with Sarah. Topper and Rafe were also there from time to time, but Sarah and I had a lot to talk about and to catch up on. In the evenings we usually all sat together and drank secretly from Ward's alcohol, cooked together or ordered pizza.
But today we had planned a girls-only day. We had ridden our bikes to the beach and drank wine that Sarah had stolen from her stepmother's closet.
The sun was high in the sky, warming our faces and heating the air up. The sand was pleasantly warm and the sea breeze gave us a little cooling. Still, it was too hot for me even in my jean shorts and the red bikini top.
We were already chatting all day and lying in the sun, when the first clouds started to build right above us. The wine bottle was almost empty, the alcohol turning our checks red and we giggled incessantly about everything. Sarah brought me up to date on all the gossip on Kildare and that was quite a bit after a whole school year. I missed a lot.
It almost felt like the old days. Sarah had hardly changed and I really enjoyed my time with her. I had long since forgiven her for not getting in touch. I was just glad to have a friend I could trust and have fun with. Yes, she was a spoiled little princess, a daddy's girl, but she was warmhearted after all. That's what always differentiates her from the other Kooks and made her also an easy target.
"Can I ask you something?", I began, tying my hair into a high ponytail. We had gotten back on the topic of boys and even if I liked Topper, the idea of seeing the two of them together was weird.
"Sure."
She looked at me tensely and took a sip from the wine bottle. They started to date right after I left Kildare and to see them interact was kinda strange. The superficial acting was kinda obvious to me, even though Sarah doesn't seem to see it or she didn't care.
"You and Topper... Have you guys slept together yet?"
I wiggled my eyebrows and paused meaningfully.
Sarah inhaled loudly, then shook her head.
"No. It hasn't come to that yet."
I nodded and looked out at the ocean. Just as I thought. The waves were really high today and something magically drew me out onto the water. The intense blue shimmered seductively in the sunlight and was only interrupted by the foam of large breakers.
"What about you and Rafe?" she asked then, handing me the bottle.
"What do you mean?"
I gave her a curt look as she eyed me with raised eyebrows and disbelief.
"Don't play dumb with me! You know damn well he's had a crush on you since forever. When you moved away, he didn't leave his room for days."
I pressed my lips together. Of course, I knew Rafe had his eye on me and before the incident I had even toyed with the idea of giving it a chance.
But then everything got mixed up and drowned into chaos. Rafe still seemed to be interested in me and that strengthened my self-confidence, after I had only rejected all the guys over the last year. After all, I had seen how he had been adored on the beach. He had grown into a tall, handsome young man over the past year and the female world in Figure Eigth was at his feet.
"I don't know... That was so long ago."
Sarah handed me the bottle and I took a big sip.
"It hasn't for Rafe. He's obsessed with you. For real it's annoying."
We had been very good friends in the past. With him I had smoked my first joint, skipped school for the first time and drank alcohol. We were inseparable until he started sending strange signals.
At first it bothered me, but after a while I liked his attention. I played with him without really knowing what I was doing. I mean all girls were happy to have the attention of an admirer, right?
Now that I was back here, the game started all over again.
Maybe this time I would actually give it a try with him. After all, he was good looking, came from a good home, and was always friendly to me. And we were not children anymore.
Glancing up at the sky, I felt queasy. A storm was brewing over the sea. The dark clouds thickened and an ominous wind blew toward us. The air was electrically charged and it already smelled like a thunderstorm.
"There's quite a storm coming," I remarked, letting the soft sand trickle through my hand.
Sarah looked to the horizon as well and nodded.
"Yeah, that looks nasty. We should start heading back."
"There's still time," I countered, and though the clouds seemed intimidating, they fascinated me in equal measure. Just as the sea always had. I probably got that from my mother.
Sarah started to put the bottles into the basket of her bicycle. She was restless because of the thunderstorm and I couldn't blame her. Here on Kildare the storms were different. They were unpredictable and incredibly strong. Hurricanes could hit the island at any time and you didn't want to be outside when a beast like that grabbed the island and threw it around, like his personal toy.
In fact, I could already see the first drops falling from the sky and darkening the sand, while the gusts of wind tore more and more violently at my hair.
Suddenly there were shouts and two people were running across the beach. Both had a surfboard under their arms and seemed to be racing each other.
At that moment, the first drop of water fell on my forehead.
Sarah seemed to be getting raindrops as well.
"Come on! Let's get out of here!"
I squinted my eyes and watched as the two boys laid their boards on the sand and looked out to sea as if searching for suitable waves.
Finally, I recognized them.
"Hey, Sarah? What are Maybank and John B doing by the ocean in weather like this?"
Sarah stood next to me and looked over as well.
"What do I know? Those two are completely insane. They surf in storms a lot."
I watched in disbelief as the two of them watched the restless sea as if they couldn't wait for the storm.
The wind swirled my hair around my head and goosebumps spread across my skin.
That's when John B turned around and spotted us. He whispered something to JJ and wanted to remain discreet. However, JJ immediately whirled around and waved at us ironically.
Sarah sighed in annoyance, while John B also looked over at us, obviously unsure if he should greet or just ignore us.
Behind them, the darkness of the threatening clouds was punctured by lightning.
JJ had only a bluish tinge left under his left eye but you could still see the cut on his lip where Rafe hit him.
"John B has been working on our boat for quite a while now. His father disappeared at sea a few months ago and was pronounced dead," Sarah told me in passing.
"You remember Maybank," she added with a smirk when she saw me eyeing him.
"Yes, I do. How could I forget that dickhead. But he changed. At least from the outside.”
I just realized that again. His tanned upper body was muscular and defined. In general, he had become outrageously attractive. For pogues, the two of them were actually very handsome. Like two stray dogs who were dirty, but still beautiful to look at.
"Only on the outside. He still fucks up every chance he gets. No wonder with that father... The man has been suspected of smuggling several times. The police is almost every week at their front door. JJ has probably become even more brazen and stupid over time due to the illegal influence."
I immediately believed that, thinking about the fight with Rafe.
"Shit, they're coming," Sarah remarked, running to her bike to lift it out of the sand.
I, on the other hand, remained seated and looked at JJ, who was casually sauntering toward us with a certain mischievousness in his eyes. John stopped at the water's edge and didn't seem too pleased with JJ's behavior.
"Are you girls lost? Aren't you two on the wrong side of the island?"
Provocatively, he stood up in front of me and looked down at me. His gaze traveled over my face and then up and down my body. I unconsciously grabbed my mother's necklace. His remarks made immediately angry.
Mom had always taken me here in the past. This is where she had learned to surf herself and she had insisted on showing me too. I grabbed my necklace even harder to calm my breathing. Just a few weeks before she died, she had given me the necklace, so it had a special meaning for me and calmed me. Mostly. It consisted of a small silver cylinder with sweeping engravings on it. They looked like little waves traveling across the silver. It gave me little waves of warm energy every time I touched it.
"I don't see a sign with your name on it anywhere."
I pretended to look for such a sign and then looked up at him again, waiting.
Then the silence was shattered by a low rumble and more raindrops fell on us.
"Come on! The storm's coming."
Sarah had already grabbed the handlebars of her bike. Only my pastel blue bike was still in the sand.
"You're seriously going to surf in this storm?", I asked mockingly as I slowly picked myself up and swept the sand off my shorts.
"Of course. That's when's the most fun."
His eyes sparkled with anticipation, but I could only frown. These Pogues were indeed all crazy. And really really stupid.
"I see you've recovered," I commented, smiling sweetly, pointing at his bruised face.
JJ just laughed snidely.
"I've never been better. Since you’re back, you should know that you Kooks better stay away from the Cut, or it won't end well for either of you."
"Is that supposed to be a threat?"
I crossed my arms and continued to stare at him unflinchingly. These little arguments were actually a little fun by now.
"No, no not at all. Just a friendly hint."
He smiled dryly and the rain increased. Sarah stepped uneasily from one leg to the other, and all at once a bright flash of lightning ripped the sky directly above us, followed shortly by loud thunder.
I winced violently and Sarah let out a scream. JJ looked up at the sky in amusement, letting the rain pelt his face.
"I'm better off without your hints. Maybe you'll kill yourselves out there and then I won't have to tell Rafe anything."
"Pff.. You Kooks just don't know anything about surfing. It's really fun in a storm," he replied, giving his friend an amused look.
I turned to Sarah to turn my attention away from his abs, glistening deliciously from the rain.
"You were right. He's even dumber than he was a year ago."
JJ ran a hand through his now wet hair and tilted his head a little.
"And you're even more arrogant and annoying than before. That that's even possible... Is that what they teach you at your great Kook schools?"
I shook my head in annoyance.
"Let's get out of here! Rafe is probably already waiting," I said, addressing Sarah.
My provocation hit the mark, causing JJ to snort snidely and the smile to disappear from his face. The waves became louder and louder and roared ominously. Now I was starting to feel more queasy, too.
"Come on! You don't want to keep your prince waiting."
John B had already taken his surfboard and wandered into the bubbling water.
"Just shut the fuck up, Maybank," I hissed, to which he just grinned wider again.
His provocations were getting on my nerves so much, and when he now slowly walked backwards while throwing me an air kiss, I wanted to punch him.
Then he turned and ran down the beach. He grabbed his board and threw himself into the water with it.
Stunned, I could only shake my head again.
I grabbed my bike and swung myself on it. Silently we drove through the rain and tried to get against the increasing wind. All the while, I just couldn't get that annoying grin and blue eyes out of my head.
I was annoyed that I kept getting involved in his provocations, but on the other hand I had seen that myself too could irritate him quite easily. That was exactly the satisfaction I searched for. This idiot had no idea who he was messing with.
But he would most certainly know soon.

feeling incredibly averse to posting this but i'm just gonna drop my kofi link here in case anyone wants to help me get out of my increasingly shitty situation living with my parents
more info below ig
after having given my parents nearly $100k over the last four years, i'd love to be able to actually leave. my future job situation is still up in the air (i've submitted for about a dozen positions and the only one i've heard back from and interviewed for hasn't gotten back to me yet), and i haven't been able to build up any savings because, again, i was (and still am) helping my family afford rent and bills, and probably the taxes my parents are behind on, but if i think about that, i'll get too angry. no joke, i've given my family, at the bare minimum, 85% of my income over the last 4 years. the rest of it has gone toward medical stuff and, now, my car
at this point, with the combo of my mom refusing to lower her standards and my dad's seeming refusal to hunt for a new full time job, i don't see how they won't continue to bleed me dry. my dad even has a bad habit of taking money out of my old savings account that he's a joint owner on or whatever from when i got it set up when i was 16, even when i stopped actively putting money in it, so now any time it gets its automated $1 transfer from my checking account, he'll just take that $1 without consulting me. i'm not exaggerating, even if it has $1-2 in it, it'll be gone within a week
i've even put off starting on testosterone because of this. i wanted to start it like 3 years ago, but kept putting it off because of money issues and wanting to save as much as possible. i got really close to actually starting it this year, but because of how messy everything is, i put it off again bc having one more thing on my plate, especially when my parents are already weird about me being trans, was not something i wanted to deal with
not to mention, we're still currently not living under a lease in our house that we're, as far as i'm aware, still tens of thousands of dollars behind in rent on (again, my dad refuses to disclose our financial position honestly with any of us) and it's developed many, many issues bc the landlord, even before we were behind on rent, is shit and refuses to actually fix anything. and my dad loves to just ignore things unless we beg him to do something
i'd love to be on my own (in the, much more affordable, midwest) by the end of summer. i by no means want to rely on donations and i have other avenues i'm working with to make money (i still have my current full time job, but i'm going through my old belongings and selling a lot online), but i'll take any help i can get atp because i'm truly at my wits end. i'd start doing art commissions again if i could, but doing that from 2020-2022, partially on top of my full time job, absolutely wrecked my right hand and i'm still in enough pain that i can't make it a regular activity
idk how much else there is to say. there's more i could say but... i don't really wanna air all my dirty laundry here. i'm miserable in so many ways and it's just become increasingly clear that my dad expects me to constantly cover his ass. my younger brother gives money too, but he manages to go on big cross-country and overseas trips with friends, so i think i've been stuck with the burden of giving the most money. there's so many more things going on in the world rn and everyone is stretched thin so i don't expect much, or anything, but. idk. might as well throw it out there, right?
i’ve also since taken down the gfm i set up last year when we got our first eviction notice bc, while we still need the money, i don’t feel right keeping it up for multiple reasons, including “i don’t want to give any of that money to my family” and it feels too… serious to keep it up when i could just throw out my kofi instead
i just want to make sure i have some sort of safety net to catch me if i move before anything job-wise is finalized. i need to be able to afford a place to live for at least a month so i can job-search while physically being in the area i wanna move to, which would ultimately make it easier for me to find a job at all. i'm working on being more firm with giving less money so i can actually have the means to move and be safe and comfortable, but... that never lasts long in this house
anyway. that's it, i guess. thanks for reading

An Americano, Please? Part 3
Word count: 1.3K A/N: Just an FYI, I don't usually upload twice a day, I just felt particularly inspired today. As always, italics in quotation marks signify the speaking is using romanian dialect.
Y/N's POV:
I gotta admit. It hurt when Jenna didn't send me a text immediately. It's been two days, and still nothing.
Maybe it was a meaningless banter. Oh well. I guess I just really thought something could come out of it.
"What are you sulking about?" Nessa asks me one day after our shift.
"I'm not sulking, I'm just a little sad because I didn't get a text from someone," I explain, "It's not like she owed me a text or anything, but I don't have to be ecstatic over the fact that she hasn't done so."
"Oh my god, you're into the American one," Nessa exclaims, "I knew it! I mean, she's gorgeous. Like if I were into girls I would definitely be into her." I take a sip of my cortado (half espresso, half milk) as I listen.
"Well in any case, she's probably not interested."
"Stop sulking, Y/N," Nessa scolds me, "Let's do something fun. Gotta get your mind off of this girl."
Since our shift just ended, and we have a whole afternoon ahead of us, Nessa and I take her car to Predeal, the closest thing to a modern city we have around here.
It's about seven miles, so about twenty minute drive. The town's mostly filled with ski resorts, but there's a few fun places to shop.
A great deal of the afternoon is spent sitting outside a store judging the tourists.
"Oh my god she's probably saying something stupid like, 'I know it's winter but my husband will love this hawaiian T-shirt I bought in Romania,'" Nessa mimics the normal thought process of the typical tourist.
"This guy's even worse though," I stifle a laugh, mocking his actions.
After a thorough mockery of all of the Predeal tourists, we head back to our town, content with our afternoon.
I still haven't stopped thinking about Jenna, though. I wish I could have gotten to know her better. It's so nice to finally have someone I can talk to in English.
All I can do is hope that she comes back to the shop. Even then though, she probably won't want much to do with me.
Nessa drops me off at my apartment, waving goodbye. Almost instantly, I shed my winter coat, relieved by the warmth of the building.
The first thing I do is turn on the TV and open Netflix. A new baking show just dropped, and I'm not the type to turn down new entertainment.
The show turns out to be a combination of baking and engineering. It seems cool, but it's hard to tell from the first episode.
My phone lights up with a bright reminder Remember to feed Cupid!
Sighing, I get up from the couch and grab my fish flakes.
Cupid is my purple betta fish. She's about a year old and as of yet hasn't had too many health issues, which is super lucky for both of us. She's at the point where she recognizes my face. So when I go up to the tank, fish feed in hand, she eagerly swims up to the glass.
"Hey Cupid," I laugh, sprinkling some food into the tank.
After feeding her, I head back to the couch, where I continue watching my cooking show. Before I know it, I'm five episodes in and the sun is starting to set. I look out of the window, trying to gauge the temperature and weather condition.
It's a fairly clear twilight right now. There's a good chance I'll get to see stars tonight. Actually, I've decided I will see stars tonight.
I don my winter coat and make my way down the apartment complex stairs. One of the perks of not living in a huge city is that I can see the night sky beautifully.
One of my favorite places in town is on the outer edges of it. At this point, all of the buildings are housing, be it apartments or actual houses. The long stretches of pavement are perfect for strolling down while admiring the night.
Not a lot of people choose to come out here late at night, which is honestly their loss. I wouldn't necessarily say I'm super into nature and the great outdoors, but when I am outside, I can find an appreciation for my surroundings.
So that's how I found myself strolling the streets of Bușteni Romania, not looking at the cement in front of me.
BAM! I find myself crashing into another person, almost knocking both of us over.
"Fuck, I am so sorry," I find myself defaulting to english, "I- I mean, I'm so sorry, are you okay?"
"Y/N?" A familiar voice asks.
"Jenna?" It may be dark, but I can just barely see the details of her face. God I hope she's not mad.
"Yep, it's me," I hear her faintly laugh.
"Are you okay? I almost knocked you over."
"I'm okay, just a little rattled."
"Sorry for that again," I apologize, "I should have been watching where I was going."
"You could make it up to me by walking me to my apartment?" she offers.
"I'd like nothing more," I laugh, linking my arm with hers and we start to walk.
"So, Y/N, tell me about yourself," she starts the conversation.
"Well, my name's Y/N L/N, I work at a coffee shop. I speak English and Romanian, which is useful for when people like you come to the shop."
"I know that stuff," she interrupts me, "what do you like to do outside of work?"
"You know, the normal things, be around the people I care about, watch shows, I read sometimes, listen to music, that kind of stuff. What about you?"
"Well for starters, I'm Jenna Ortega, I also love to read and listen to music," she tells me, "I also like to write though, I have like, twenty scripts and stories sitting in my FinalDraft™ folder."
"Damn, you must really like writing," I respond, "that's pretty awesome."
"I guess so," she shrugs.
"Have you ever considered publishing your work?" I ask.
"Yeah, I actually published a book called It's All Love," she answers proudly.
"That's like, the coolest thing anyone's said to me all day," I tell her.
"I guess I'm just a cool person," she jokes, "I'm kidding, I'm kidding, only an arrogant person would say that."
"No, you have reason to say, it. You're a published author, the lead in a TV show, and fun to talk to. Don't discredit your own awesome-ness."
She laughs, "thanks for saying that."
"Sure thing."
"So, does your offer to take me around town sometime still stand?" she changes the subject.
"I'm a woman of my word, Jenna, if you still want a tour, you have my number," I remind her, trying to sound kind and cool at the same time. Which is kind of challenging.
"Oh my god, I forgot to text you, didn't I," she gasps, "I'm so so sorry, Y/N. I've just had so much going on." She starts to talk herself into a panic, "I have work for like, eight hours a day, plus cello lessons, plus german and fencing, it's just so much." If I had known how busy she was I never would have felt so hurt. That must be so overwhelming.
"Hey, it's okay, I'm not mad about it." Which is true.
"That's such a relief," she exhales, "again, I'm so sorry."
"Hey, Jenna, it's okay. How about the next time you have a day off, we get in touch and I take you around town."
"Well, conveniently enough, my next day off is tomorrow, so how about I see you then?" she offers.
"I wouldn't be opposed to that," I smile, doing my best to hide how excited I am for this.
"Well this is my place," she announces, "thank you for walking me home."
"Anytime," I reply, sad to know the night is ending. She heads through the door to her apartment, leaving me to walk the short five minutes to my apartment alone.
As soon as I get home, I dash to my bedroom, putting on pyjamas and getting ready for bed. I'm tired from the day. At at the same time, I'm so happy I got to see Jenna. I'm so excited that she wants to see me again, maybe tomorrow! I can't wait to get to know her better.
My phone lights up with a text from a new number
+1 ***-***-****
Does 11 AM tomorrow work for you?
-Jenna
I smile, quickly texting back
Sure thing, see ya then :)
I can hardly wait.

My wife and I were watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire while we were in bed.
I turned to her and said, 'Do you want to have Sex?'
'No,' she answered.
I then said, 'Is that your final answer?'
... She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying, 'Yes..'
So I said, "Then I'd like to phone a friend."
And that's when the fight started...
________________________________
I took my wife to a restaurant.
The waiter, for some reason, took my order first.
"I'll have the rump steak, rare, please."
He said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?"
"Nah, she can order for herself."
And that's when the fight started.....
_____________________________
My wife and I were sitting at a table at her high school reunion, and she kept staring at a drunken man swigging his drink as he sat alone at a nearby table.
I asked her, "Do you know him?"
"Yes", she sighed,
"He's my old boyfriend. I understand he took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear he hasn't been sober since."
"My God!" I said, "Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?"
And then the fight started...
_____________________________
My wife sat down next to me as I was flipping channels.
She asked, "What's on TV?"
I said, "Dust."
And then the fight started...

Saturday morning I got up early, quietly dressed, made my lunch, and slipped quietly into the garage. I hooked the boat up to the van and proceeded to back out into a torrential downpour. The wind was blowing 50 mph, so I pulled back into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad all day.
I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed. I cuddled up to my wife's back;
now with a different anticipation, and whispered, "The weather out there is terrible."
My loving wife of 5 years replied, "And, can you believe my stupid husband is out fishing in that?"
And that's how the fight started...

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary.
She said, "I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3 seconds."
I bought her a bathroom scale.
And then the fight started......

After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply for Social Security. The woman behind the counter asked me for my Driver's License to verify my age. I looked in my pockets and realised I had left my wallet at home. I told the woman that I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and come back later.
The woman said, 'Unbutton your shirt'.
So I opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair.
She said, 'That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me' and she processed my Social Security application.
When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the Social Security office.
She said, 'You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability too.'
And then the fight started...

My wife was standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror.
She was not happy with what she saw and said to me, “I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment.'
I replied, "Your eyesight's damn near perfect."
And then the fight started........

I rear-ended a car this morning...the start of a REALLY bad day!
The driver got out of the other car, and he was a DWARF!!
He looked up at me and said 'I am NOT Happy!'
So I said, 'Well, which one ARE you then?'
That's how the fight started.

One year, I decided to buy my mother-in-law a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift...
The next year, I didn't buy her a gift.
When she asked me why, I replied, “Well, you still haven't used the gift I bought you last year!"
And that's how the fight started.

AITA for being harsh to one of my group mates?
(📳🎓)
For context, this is in uni, and most of us are between 18 to 20 years old. We've been assigned a group project we need to do basically, and while there were originally 8 of us, for the longest time there were only 5 of us. The other 3 were unavailable for a variety of reasons - until within the past two or so weeks, one of them (I'll call A) started showing up to some lectures. Not all of them mind you, but a couple of them.
Initially I was a bit 'ehhh' on A, simply because he hasn't shown up until now. However the rest of the group wanted to give him a chance, and for the sake of fairness we did. And for the most part, imo, he's been unreliable. He showed up recently to one of our more important sessions (the session essentially being producing a bulk of the work we'd need to do) and was genuinely helpful, but for me the pressing issues I have with him are that
1. He's inconsistent. He only got to that session because we prodded him about it on WhatsApp, and I'm sure that if we didn't he wouldn't have turned up at all
2. He rarely if at all communicates with us. He responded to one person (who I'll call D) twice and another person once. While in person he's a lot better, getting in touch with him otherwise is essentially impossible.
The kicker recently is that in person, we agreed to have a one on one meeting where we'd talk about what we've done so far and what he'll be able to help out with in the future. I arrived to the location, and waited... He never showed up. I texted him multiple times to let him know that if he's late he needs to tell me, and as I'm writing this he still hasn't even bothered to read the messages at all. I let D, who's our group leader, know and they believe he shouldnt share our grade. I agree.
However, the reason why I feel I'm the AH is because he says he's been having some mental health issues. He didn't specify what, just that it's 'been hard getting out of bed' and the like. He may have mentioned depression, but I also can't 100% confirm it. The rest of the group believe we should give him another chance, saying that depression is hard and that we can't expect him to be fine 100% now, and they've even said that D themself is inconsistent when it comes to showing up to meetings, which is true. They say that they themselves have had similar struggles in the past and they sympathise.
While that's fair, I'm also of the opinion that well... He hasn't even done a lot of work. Like at all. He helped during that session but has otherwise done fuck all. From a practical standpoint he doesn't deserve a grade simply because he's done essentially nothing since we started, even if it is because he's been having a bad time. However, he also hasn't had much time to prove himself that he is capable of helping, so it could be that I'm just pre-judging him out of cynicism.
It might also not help that I'm a very practical person when it comes to mental health - I deal with my own shit, tend not to burden anyone with my issues if I can, and just get on with things. My anxieties were rough before uni, and while it's gotten better in some areas it's gotten worse in others. Yknow, stuff like money, if I'm even eating properly, general life, personal circumstances, all that shit. However it might be that A is the type to get buried in his feelings, and my more practical viewpoint is me being way too harsh on someone who is struggling.
While I understand where my group is coming from, I still don't think A should share our grade. Imo he hasnt shown much initiative if at all for the group, and even if he was struggling the fact that he just generally hasn't done anything means I don't think he should share our grade. AITA?
TLDR: Guy in a group has done not much in terms of participating in our group project, because he's been struggling mentally up until now. Group is mostly sympathetic and wants to give him another chance, while I think otherwise, believing he's had enough chances already.
What are these acronyms?

unpopular warrior cats opinion but i actually like blossomfall being a mother! preferably not with thornclaw as her mate but still. canon blossomfall being a better mom than millie was! some people in this fandom seem to think that all they have to do to make warrior cats not misogynistic is make female characters not have children, which is.. problematic, and doesn’t even address teh issue
Warrior cats misogyny is a special brand, I swear. We really can over-correct at times.
I personally didn't like Ivypool getting pregnant, she always struck me as the adoption type if she was gonna be a parent, but the Erins hate adoption, so that was out the window.
I liked Blossomfall being a mom, I just wish we got to actually see it! I do think canon!Blossomfall would make sure all her children know they are loved, and can always come to her, even when they are fully grown. You don't just stop being your parent's child the split second you're an adult, and when I see people making it out that Blossomfall should have just "gotten over it" I will also remind them that a fresh 18 year old is still pretty much a child, and that while yes, her anger was misdirected, Blossomfall was pretty much still a kid. Your parents suddenly becoming cold and snappy at you still hurts, even when you are a "grown ass adult". You don't suddenly stop needing your parents the second you turn 18.
Millie was a terrible mother to all 3 of her children, and to be quite frank was... Kind of a pointless character.
But in Warrior Cats Rewritten, Millie... Doesn't really exist. Silverstream barely survives Feathertail and Stormfur's births, and goes on to have the B Triplets. Millie may make an appearance in The Last Clan.
For WCR!Blossomfall, she and Ivypool have a Sire, a loner tom named Thrift, heavily implied to be from The Guardians. He looks exactly like Thriftear. Ivypool, having heard about Silverstream's 2 traumatic pregnancies and births, promises that Blossomfall won't have to lift a finger the moment she is carrying, that she will do everything for her, so she can just relax, and maybe think of some cute baby names.
I like to think that she wanted to name one after Briarlight, but Briarlight insisted not to. Back when Mousefur was alive, cats got her name and Mousewhisker's name mixed up all the time! Briarlight watched over the babies when they arrived and the 2 sisters are incredibly close.
She is pregnant for quite a while, heavily so during Tigerheart's Light, and pushes Ivypool to go find Dovewing with Tigerheart. Ivypool was worried about her and hated Tigerheart, but Blossomfall pushed her to get up and go, that she would be fine. That she didn't have to like Tigerheart, but she owed it to Dovewing to go help him find her and make sure she was safe.
Blossomfall loves her children. Plumstone, Thriftear, Flipclaw and Bristlefrost are her kits, and she cherishes each one. We see it in Princess's Parting, Plumkit, Bristlekit, Thriftkit and Flipkit are all very close with their Mama.
She deeply grieves the loss of Bristlefrost and Flipclaw. Flipclaw hasn't passed, but he lives in the mountains with his mate Hawk Feather. Soon enough, Plumstone will join Shadowclan to be with Gullswoop, leaving Thriftear alone.
She is trying her best to be there for her lonely daughter, along with her wife and sister.
As for her relationship with her mom, it withered while Silverstream worried herself sick over Briarlight. She had to unlearn things about disability and she really damaged her relationship with Briar, but she also did end up being a bit absent for Bumble and Blossom, snappy at them because she wouldn't sleep for days... They reconciled during Dovewing's Silence, when all is said and done, but Blossomfall vowed to never let her kids feel the way she felt, not for one second.

I'm so in love with the way you write!! Especially bully!Eddie, he makes me feel all gooey inside<3 can't wait to see what you write next, pretty 🥰✨
hehehe!!! take this!!! (yes i am using this as an opportunity to be self-indulgent AND festive even tho i finished this a little late LOL <3)
(cws: bully!dad!eddie, f!mom!angelface, christmas festivities, gift-giving, teasing, mentions of postpartum healing and a past of poverty living, set 5 years post-babytrapping, fluff.)
If you thought Eddie wasn't gonna bother getting gifts for your children before he became a father, you would be beyond wrong. He's always been mean, always been rough, but ever since that first Christmas you spent together as a family, he's been the biggest softie you've ever seen for his babies.
Your first one, Elliott, is getting bigger by the day--he's five and still as much of an angel as the day he was born, dark curls exploding all over his head and freckles dusting his nose. Lorien, who just turned four, is a clumsy little guy with his father's eyes and your soft, demure smile. And Trinity is still a bit too small to show much personality yet, but she's giggly and a good sleeper and quite happy for a two-month-old in a chaotic house full of boys. They all get spoiled, but not rotten, lucky for you. Eddie can at least be strict at times and you don't fold easily to those glimmery little eyes when the boys are begging for something they want. But that definitely changes at Christmas, when your husband plays the role of Santa so well you might as well slap a fake beard on his chin and give him a suit to go with his sack of goodies.
However, that same gesture hasn't exactly extended to you. It's not one-sided--you don't really get him much, either--but Eddie's gifts to you in the last five years have been pretty scarce. Your birthday is always a different story and so is his, but with having at least one child each year and that number growing over time, as well as struggling to pay bills and keep the roof over your heads on a single income, presents haven't ever really been a spectacle between you two. Usually it's some chocolate if he can afford it, or simply a kiss and the promise of a date during those couple years where you could barely avoid food, those awful times when you literally scrounged for whatever pennies you could save just to get your children something to open on Christmas morning. All the while watching and feeling a sense of relief at their excitement, all while yours and Eddie's stomachs rumbled with hunger but your boys sat full and satisfied.
But those days of struggling are over, at least for the foreseeable future. This year Eddie's taken over a considerable chunk of the garage as a partner and started doing detail work on the side, and with the success of that as well as the band picking up more and more gigs, you've watched those fears of not being able to provide for your children slowly vanish in your rearview. You even have a job yourself, part-time at the general store where you can chat away with Joyce and have a little time and money to yourself. This is the first year you're actually spending the holidays in a house instead of the trailer, one that you scouted out and Eddie bought, and with all those changes under your belts, you've managed to carve out quite the life for yourself and your little family.
And Eddie's changing, too. You'll never be proud of what you did, you're sure you'll never not feel a little sick at the memory of sabotaging his contraceptives all those years ago. But you've grown and so has Eddie--he's still gruff, and can be a little prickly around the edges when he's in a mood, but your opinion of him definitely changed when you watched him become a parent. And not in the literal sense, just at Elliott's birth. You've watched him become gentle and sweet and learn how to manage himself, you've seen him apply those behaviors to you and you've even gotten some good moments out of him--an apology, for one, and a promise as well.
"I'm never gonna be perfect, I know. But I'll...I'll be the kinda guy a girl like you deserves. I'll be good to you. And....fuck, I mean, I'll try and make it up to you for all that stupid shit. I'll just....I'll find a way, okay? I'll find a way."
That way had been a ring and another baby, the latter of the two being pure coincidence, but he really is making an effort. That much is obvious in the littlest things, like how he waved you off to bed and told you he'd take care of the baby tonight, doing all the feeding and burping and changing and soothing that would usually be shared between the two of you. His only excuse had been that it was Christmas Eve, and he expected a damn good breakfast in the morning for all that last-minute grocery shopping he'd had to do for you the day before. But even as he served you all that indignation and sass, he had cradled your baby girl in his arms as he gave you a kiss, and quietly smiled down at her as he cooed a little lullaby and you snuggled up in your bed to sleep.
"Mommy! It's Christmas, mommy! Wake up!"
When you're finally shaken awake by your boys at eight am sharp, you almost aren't sure where you are, or what day it is--you've been so exhausted taking care of your newborn that you've forgotten what a good night's sleep is. They hop around cheering and grabbing at you to get you up, only calming down enough to lean in for kisses when you bid them a good morning. When you're eventually dragged out of bed by those two excitable little gremlins and stumble half-awake through the hallway, you nearly bump right into your husband as he's carrying your daughter back to her bassinette.
"Mmh....Eds, did you sleep?"
"A little." Somehow, he's grinning, despite it being so early and him sporting bags under his tired eyes. You hadn't been woken up once that you can remember, not even to breastfeed, which would mean that Eddie had been up with Trin for pretty much the whole night in the nursery. Not unusual, but....well, sometimes you forget he can be pretty thoughtful when he feels like it. With a kiss placed on your daughter's head, and another sleepily pressed to Eddie's lips, you rub your eyes and let your sons take each hand to pull you down the steps to go see what Santa left you all. And, as per usual, only half-listening to their father's nagging to slow it down, so you don't go flying!
Fortunately, by the time you're down the stairs and Eddie's on your heels, you've blinked away snough of the sleep that you can stretch and yawn and shake off the tiredness that had kept you so soft and warm in bed. You let the boys take the lead as they hurry into the living room, and when you turn the corner to join them, you're met with quite the unexpected surprise. One that leaves you so pleasantly shocked that even Eddie can't smother his low, soft laughter as he comes up behind you for a kiss to your ear.
Waiting for your boys at the base of the tree are the gifts you and Eddie had wrapped and placed there, making sure to do so later in the night to give your boys a proper taste of that innocent belief in Santa Claus. But Eddie's ploy of staying up with the baby evidently wasn't all for the reasons he had supposed--you can see now that the stockings you had put up over the back of the couch, purely just for decoration, have been stuffed full to bursting with sweets and little toys and trinkets. You've got three of them, one for each child with their names stitched in by Eddie's careful hands, but there's another one that wasn't there last night. Smaller, cuter, but still with a few goodies inside that look like your favourite chocolates peeking out the top and some fuzzy socks. When you turn to look at him, he doesn't even pretend he wasn't looking, although he swerves around you and does pretend to be occupied with soothing your still-sleeping baby.
"Looks like Santa got a lot of work done, huh, boys?" You call out to them while not breaking your locked stare with your husband, arms crossing over your chest as you exchange a few looks that don't feel as innocent as they once were. Eddie winks in that confident way that stirs a heat up in your belly, before he turns and moves to lay your daughter down in the little handmade cradle by the wall that he's left out since the boys were small enough to sleep in it.
"Uh huh! Mama, look! Santa gave you presents!" Lorien calls right back to you, plopped down right next to his brother as they wait on the rug by the tree, practically vibrating with excitement. You quirk an eyebrow, but Eddie hustles over and distracts them by starting up the train of gift-unwrapping, handing each of them their first present with a warm sort of smile that doesn't come around all that often. With their interests piqued and their excited squeals coming out as they tear through the colourful paper, you pull the crib over a few feet to include your little girl in the festivities and take a seat on the couch. You're definitely still on the mend from Trinity's birth, and you don't mind rocking the little wooden cradle as you watch your children laugh and thank mommy, daddy, and Santa for their new toys.
They're such sweet kids, and you don't feel like you're that amazing of a person, so it's really quite the phenomenon that they've turned out to be such respectful and kind little boys. Elliott is so gentle in helping his little brother open the harder to unwrap presents, and they both hold each side of the gifts they got for you and for Eddie as they place them in your laps, giggling and squirming when they get a hail of kisses on their faces as thanks for the little drawings and handmade necklaces. But after most of the pile has diminished, and your sons are thoroughly wiped out from the excitement and looking forward to breakfast, Eddie tilts his head and gestures towards the kitchen.
"Go get a snack, and watch your cartoons in the den until breakfast. Help your brother open his, El."
"Okay, daddy!" With one of their new toys in hand and one last tight, gripping hug on each side for their beloved father, Elliott grabs Lorien's little hand and leads him towards the kitchen, both sets of adult ears tuning in to hear the sounds of them bustling around before they get to the right cupboard, and hustle into the playroom in a fit of giggles to catch their favourite cartoons. Then, and only then, does Eddie drag out those presents that had been hiding around the back of the tree, and drops them carefully in front of you until there's at least six or seven boxes by your feet. It isn't until you pick one up and read the tag on it that you realize it's addressed to you, and with a nervous bite to your lip you look back at your husband without much to say. Is it a prank? He encourages you to open them, and when you pull one of those mid-sized boxes towards you and gingerly lift the top off, you blink away the surprise of seeing a few nice, soft sweaters lying inside. All three are somewhat similar to cashmere if not the real thing, they're in your size, they're in colours you like....but he brushes off your awed thank-yous and just puts another gift in your lap, waiting anxiously for you to open it and find the hair clips and little makeup set inside that you'd been wanting.
"Eddie....really, you didn't have to get me anything. You didn't have to get me this much."
"Oh, shut your mouth, you little goody-goody. Take the damn gifts." He shakes off your gratitude like a wet dog, and shoves the next present into your hands before you can even fawn over the one you've already got. Yet, despite coming off as aggressive as he can be, he's got that smug smirk crawling its way across his lips whenever you seem shocked or excited at what he had bought you. But when the hail of presents is done with, and Christmas morning has officially wrapped up, you feel a sense of guilt as you thumb through the books and the tapes he had got you for the new cassette player you have. While you've definitely gone without any gift exchanging in other years, you did get him some new work gloves and a pic case with the Metallica logo on it this time, but it doesn't seem like it's enough. And he can tell by the way you meekly apologize for your pathetic gift-giving, although he doesn't scoff or poke fun at you like he usually would. He just....looks down at his hands, and fiddles with the string on his plaid sleep pants before he answers you.
"You gave me three kids, and a life, and....and a reason to live. You didn't need to get me anything, and you shouldn't have, cause...." He trails off, and you sit there slack-jawed in awe of what you're hearing, wondering if that's really what you're hearing, because it's so rare for Eddie to be touchy-feely when he's also being lucid about his own behavior. You know he knows how he acts is cruel at times, which is why he's really toned down since you first got pregnant and when you had the boys and Trinity. I'm not gonna be like my father. That's what he had said, and he's kept his word since then. Even so, he slips up at times, but you never would've thought that even with all the progress he's made, he'd do something like this completely out of the blue. Eddie smiles at some thought he's got in his head, and reaches over to clasp his warm, rough hand over yours, and you turn your wrist so you can hold it back and lace your fingers together as your palms touch. "Sometimes, I only got up in the mornings because I knew I'd get to see you. I'd get to bully that dumb smile off your face and make you cry, and I'd feel something."
Maybe it's something in the air, but you feel the courage well up inside you to bring your entwined hands up to your face, and kiss each one of his knuckles so tenderly. Usually that would serve as an oportunity for Eddie to flick your nose or jab at you for being a cheesy, mushy crybaby, but shockingly again he says nothing and just....smiles again. It feels normal. Maybe he's been doing it more recently, and you just haven't noticed.
"Now I got people that depend on me, I....I got people who care whether I live or die. I can work hard day after day, and know that the ones I love will get something out of it. I'm someone's fucking dad. That's crazy." Just as the words come out of his mouth, you hear the squeals and laughter of your boys in the other room, along with the soft gurgling of your precious little girl as she starts waking up. He really isn't wrong, he works incredibly hard to provide and even when he grumbles and complains as he pulls himself out of bed to cover someone's no-show shift, he still comes home with a tired smile to welcome his boys into a hug and waltzes in to kiss you hello. He teases you to no end but he still holds you when you're in pain, he takes your complaints and worries so seriously and never misses a chance to bring you to the clinic or pick up your medicines if that's what you need. And even after twelve, thirteen, or fourteen hour shifts where everything's gone wrong and he just wants to pass out for the whole evening, you still stir awake to get a bleary-eyed look at his bare back as he stands over Trinity's bassinette, soothing and bottle-feeding her late into the night so you won't have to get up.
"You're an amazing father, Eddie." You lean into him, a kiss pressed to his jaw as you hold his hand so closely to your chest, and even with your head resting on his shoulder and his breath hitching when yours puffs against his skin, he still rumbles out a soft bit of mockery to fill the empty space between.
"Shut up. Fucking softie.....I love you."
"I love you too." You kiss his chin this time, and he takes the hint to tilt his head down and capture your lips when you go in for another. He's chapped and warm, he smells of milk and a bit of menthol along with his cologne, and it's the strangest combination but it so encompasses Eddie as he is now. He's the kind of father that would get his children McDonald's and watch them eat with a smile as his stomach rumbled, and he's the kind of husband that would agree to share your meal just to take the most unintrusive bite of your burger and tell you he's full. And he's the type of man that, if you ever fell back on those hard times again, would do it all over and more if it meant making sure that his wife and children were taken care of. And still he asks for nothing, but you know by the way he had stared down at the drawings and that pic case and traced the insignia that he'll treasure those moments forever--he'll always know that he's loved, and that his sacrifices will always mean something to your family, especially when your kids grow up and find those same values within themselves. Hopefully, with your influence included, without any of those feelings of abandonment or turmoil that Eddie's still working at undoing with you as you both grow older.
As you sit there together, cuddling and holding one another with plentiful thumps of your hearts, you squeeze his arm so tight and let him feel how much love tightens around it in a hug. He looks so peaceful, and you just have to take the chance to teasingly throw his favourite words right back at him as he looks so solemn and lost in thought. "You gonna cry, you little baby?"
"Fuck you," He spits back immediately with a grin, turning to look down on you and following it up with an especially passionate kiss. If it weren't for your kids being in the other room, and for Trinity starting to stir in the crib as she yawns, it probably wouldn't have stopped there. But for now it does, and Eddie helps you to your feet as you hug him close one last time before moving to welcome your little girl into your arms, and see what she's feeling like so you can hopefully omit some oncoming discomfort. Clingy as ever, Eddie snakes his arms around you from behind one last time as you hold her, kissing your cheek over your shoulder and gently bopping Trin's little Munson nose before he whispers his plans for breakfast in your ear, and slips away to duck into the kitchen.
"Boys! Breakfast in ten! Bacon, yes or no?"
"Yes!" The two of them shout back to their father from the playroom, and you chuckle to yourself as he pretends to mishear them just to elicit a playful reaction, as they frantically correct their daddy while you spend a little time tending to your newborn. Thankfully she doesn't seem too hungry yet, just a little restless, so you lay her back down in the crib and make a mental note to remind Eddie to bring the whole thing over to the table so you can all eat as a family. For now, though, you find yourself meandering back through the archway to find your husband at the stove, several pans already laid out and a carton of eggs open as he's in the midst of cracking a few and humming. You recognize the tune, One Night in the City, and you find yourself joining in with a softer voice as you come up from behind, and wrap your arms around him to lovingly rub his belly the way he likes. It's kinda sweet how surprised he always is to find that you've remembered things like that about him, and as always, he has to brush it off with a few words so he doesn't have to acknowledge how special it makes him feel.
"You love me, huh? That's embarrassing." Even so, he grazes the hand you've got on his stomach with his own, smiling silently to himself as he cracks another egg into the pan with a sssh as the whites hit the hot steel.
