Modified Mana Myr

(Plague Myr by Efrem Palacios)
I'm back in the Myr Mines! There are a lot of myr in MtG, and although most the original batch are just Weird Big Robots, by Scars Myr had solidified to be "small guys that might make mana" and so we got a lot of variations on that theme- which of course makes it interesting to modify my own mana myr stat block! These are two myr that you may not want to use so lightly...
Myr, Plague
This myr is made with a small humanoid spine and has strange riblike protrusions coming out of its body. It drips with a discomforting fluid.
Misc- CR2 NE Small Construct (Myr) HD3 Init:+3 Senses: Perception: +14, Darkvision 60ft Stats- Str:8(-1) Dex:16(+3) Con:- Int:6(-2) Wis:10(+0) Cha:13(+1) BAB:+3 Space:2.5ft Reach:0ft Defense- HP:26(3d10+10) AC:14(+3 Dexterity, +1 Size) Fort:- Ref:+4 Will:+1 CMD:15 Resist: Immunity: Weakness: Special Defenses: Construct Traits Offense- 2 Claw +4(1d3-1 plus Disease) CMB:+2 Speed:30ft Special Attacks: Disease, Pounce Feats- Weapon Finesse, Skull Focus (Perception) Skills- Perception +4, Stealth +13 Spell-like Abilities- Share Memory /at-will Inflict Moderate Wounds 1/day Special Qualities- Scrying Focus Ecology- Environment- Any Languages- Common, Necril (Cannot speak) Organization- Solitary Treasure- None Special Abilities- Modified Mana Servant (Su)- A plague myr can be used as the focus of Necromancy spells as a lead mana myr. When a plague myr is used as a focus to cast a necromancy spell, the spell is cast at a +1 caster level and with a +1 DC. A plague myr registers as strong necromancy when viewed through Detect Magic or similar spells. Using a plague myr in this way exposes one to its disease. Scrying Focus (Ex)- Myr are perfect vessels for scrying on. They get a -5 penalty to saves against spells with the Scrying descriptor, and magical sensors made to scry on a myr and its surroundings get a +5 bonus against rolls to perceive it. Additionally, myr- and any object or creature they are in contact with- are not protected by spells such as Nondetection and Screen. Disease (Ex)- Myr Cough- Type: Disease, Injury, Inhaled Save: Fort DC14 Onset: 1d2 days Frequency: 1/day Effect: 1d3 Str and 1d3 Con, victim has a haggard dry cough Cure: 2 saves
Modified by an outsider from the original myr purpose, a plague myr is intended as the perfect vector for disease. It is programmed to, once unleashed, viciously attack any living creature it can see, infecting it with disease and fleeing so the victim spreads its new gift. This myr is infected with Myr Cough, but other diseases may be applied.

(Myr Mindservant by Dave Dorman)
Myr, Mindsifter
This small humanoid construct has a strange head shaped like a heavy beak. It resonates with enchanting energy.
Misc- CR4 TN Small Construct (Myr) HD4 Init:+2 Senses: Perception: +7 Aura: Stats- Str:7(-2) Dex:14(+2) Con:- Int:19(+4) Wis:16(+3) Cha:15(+2) BAB:+4 Space:5ft Reach:0ft Defense- HP: AC:17(+1 Size, +2 Dexterity, +3 Natural, +1 Dodge) Fort:- Ref:+3 Will:+4 CMD:13 Resist: Immunity: Weakness: Special Defenses: Construct Traits Offense- Slam +2(1d3-2) CMB:+1 Speed:25ft Feats- Dodge, Skill Focus (Bluff) Skills- Bluff +9, Knowledge (Planes) +8, Knowledge (Local) +8, Linguistics +8, Perception +7, Stealth +10 Spell-like Abilities- Share Memory /at-will Make Whole 1/day Psychic Magic- (CL4, Concentration +8) 7 PE- False Belief (1PE), Mind Thrust II (DC16, 1PE), Blink (2PE), Modify Memory (DC19, 4PE) Special Qualities- Locked Memories, Modified Mana Servant, Scrying Focus Ecology- Environment- Planar (Plane of Metal) Languages- Common, Telepathy 100ft Organization- Solitary Treasure- Half (1d4 Enchantment scrolls lv 1-4) Special Abilities- Locked Memories (Ex)- A myr mindsifter can voluntarily lock away parts of its memory; such memories cannot be accessed by any sort of mind reading without a successful DC22 Caster Level check. Modified Mana Servant (Su)- A Mindsifter is a specialized bismuth myr, and can be used as a focus for enchantment spells as a mana myr. However, spells cast this way cannot affect the mindsifter, and it can choose to counter or redirect spells cast this way.
Mindsifters are an insidious breed of myr, an offshoot of bismuth mana myr. Unlike most mana myr they have a will and agenda of their own, using their usefulness as servants and ability to modify memories to manipulate and eventually control a spellcaster who takes one as a familiar. They carry within them knowledge of the master of the Plane of Metal and whatever long-term goals they have with the place, and are even rumored to have knowledge of their current whereabouts. None have yet succeeded in extracting this information, as very few even are aware of the existence of mindsifters.
#soylent original#monsters and races#myr#mtgblr#i really love the mindsifter#for one it retroactively becomes art for the bismuth myr#for another i just really love the 'the servant was the mastermind' type twists

Trials
You saw with your own eyes the great trials … the mighty hand and outstretched arm, with which the Lord your God brought you out.
We sent Timothy, who is our brother and co-worker in God’s service in spreading the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith, so that no one would be unsettled by these trials. You know quite well that we are destined for them.
Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
… the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials

LIGHT OF LIFE 682
John 1:4
DIVINE ORDER 247: LIVING AND DYING ORDER 11
Heb 9:27 EVERY HUMAN BEING IS APPOINTED TO DIE ONCE, AND THEN TO FACE GOD’S JUDGMENT. TPT
We have dealt extensively with the First Death and seen the importance of knowing who is called DEAD or LIVING. I can tell you for free beloved, it is not a matter of “confessing positively” all your days that “I shall not die but live…”. It is also not a matter of “having Faith” that you will [surely] make heaven.
If your ways and your heart are not right with God, you are DEAD!
The worst case for believers who go back to their ‘Vomits & Mud” is that they may never have opportunity to return to God again (Heb 6:4-8).
2Pe 2:20-22 People can know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and escape the world's filth. But if they get involved in this filth again and give in to it, they are worse off than they were before. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER FOR THEM NEVER TO HAVE KNOWN THE WAY OF LIFE THAT GOD APPROVES OF THAN TO KNOW IT AND TURN THEIR BACKS ON THE HOLY LIFE GOD TOLD THEM TO LIVE. These proverbs have come true for them: "A DOG GOES BACK TO ITS VOMIT," and "A sow that has been washed goes back to roll around in the mud." GW
Before we delve into the last Form of Death, we need to inspect one unusual form that is not in the category of these other ones and could present a controversy in comprehension, even for young believers.
I told us that Death is a dicey topic and with definitions out of this world. This form, and the First Death runs pari-passu, though conversely. It’s called…
DEATH TO THE WORLD
This is the main reasons why CONTEXTS of scriptures and applications, must be clearly understood. Otherwise, how do you tell Christians - talk less of unbelievers - that a Worldly Man & Sinner are Dead even while they live, but a Believer is Dead too?
How can you be said to be Alive and “unkillable” (Jn11:26; 6:50), yet Dead and irresponsive? (Rom6:7).
Col 3:1,3,4 IF YE THEN BE RISEN WITH CHRIST, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God…FOR YE ARE DEAD, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. KJV
How can you be RISEN, yet DEAD?
Well, the simplest explanation is that while a sinner is Dead to God and spiritual things (I Cor2:14), the Believer, by his embrace of, and allegiance to Christ, becomes [technically] Dead to the things of the world but alive [only] to God and heavenly things (Rom6:11; Gal6:14).
I love the way Passion Translation puts our last scripture above. Let’s read…
Col 3:3-4 YOUR CRUCIFIXION WITH CHRIST HAS SEVERED THE TIE TO THIS LIFE, and now YOUR TRUE LIFE is hidden away in God in Christ. AND AS CHRIST HIMSELF IS SEEN FOR WHO HE REALLY IS, WHO YOU REALLY ARE WILL ALSO BE REVEALED, for you are now one with him in his glory! TPT
That verse in not only talking about what the world would SEE of our BODIES at the Great Resurrection but about what the Real Christian Journey makes of our New Life in Christ here on earth, when we are truly born of God (IJn 3:9).
The funny thing with this divine concept is that, though worldly men cannot explain it, they don’t SEE you as BEFORE, especially in the [NEW] way you respond to things around you. You are now DEAD!
1Pe 4:3-4 You have spent enough time in the past doing what the heathen like to do. Your lives were spent in indecency, lust, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and the disgusting worship of idols. AND NOW THE HEATHEN ARE SURPRISED WHEN YOU DO NOT JOIN THEM IN THE SAME WILD AND RECKLESS LIVING, and so they insult you. GNB
You can’t be fulfilled as a Christian till you DIE, so HOW do we practically get to that point?
Well, many know we have to present our bodies as living sacrifices to God (Rm12:1), right? But the Object in us that [really] must die is Mr. Flesh; no other available options.
Gal 5:24-25 And THOSE WHO ARE CHRIST'S HAVE PUT TO DEATH ON THE CROSS THE FLESH WITH ITS PASSIONS AND ITS EVIL DESIRES. If we are living by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us be guided. BBE
As long as FLESH or the NATURAL MAN is alive in you, you’d always struggle with God’s will (Rm8:4-8; 12:2). You can’t understand the Language of the Spirit (I Cor2:14) and your hunger will always be for worldly things (I Jn2:15-16; II Tim4:10).
You’d feel that Christianity is a painful burden and a deprivation to pleasure; even a punishment. This is just about the Christian who is yet subject to flesh, not even the pagan or unbeliever yet.
Rom 8:7-8 because THE CARNAL MIND is enmity against God, for IT IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE LAW OF GOD, NEITHER INDEED CAN IT BE. SO THEN THEY WHO ARE IN THE FLESH CANNOT PLEASE GOD. MKJV
So, instead of pursuing prosperity and breakthrough in life, should Christians not rather prayerfully and passionately pursue the identity that completes them in Christ (Col2:9-13)?
I pray for your profound Victory over the life of sin and iniquity, IN JESUS NAME.
See you on Monday, as we continue with this explosive Subtopic.

A hipótese do dilúvio local:
Contradiz diretamente o texto de Gênesis.
Torna inútil a construção da arca.
Faz Deus parecer mentiroso quanto à sua promessa.
Enfraquece o juízo universal pelo pecado.
Destrói a tipologia do juízo final.

“But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard); then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority. Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones, whereas angels, though greater in might and power, do not pronounce a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord.”

Bad Desires
All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature 1 and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires …
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.
Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
… but each of you is tempted when you are dragged away by your own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters.
You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.
This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority.

LIGHT OF LIFE 679
John 1:4
DIVINE ORDER 244: LIVING AND DYING ORDER 8
Heb 9:27 EVERY HUMAN BEING IS APPOINTED TO DIE ONCE, AND THEN TO FACE GOD’S JUDGMENT. TPT
As we go into definitions now, Christians must always be aware that too many terms in life have purely spiritual applications and hence isolated definitions.
DEATH is one of such.
DEFINITION OF DEATH
The most basic and general definition of Death is an end/absence of living, where mobility, response and innate functions of a Body are terminated.
The dictionary definition states thus: The permanent end of all life functions in an organism or part of an organism.
Firstly, you’d see that this definition only applies to Natural and Biological Lifeforms. The moment you delve into the Spiritual Parlance, you have to rethink on your definition(s).
Heb 9:27 EVERYONE MUST DIE ONCE, and after that be judged by God. GNB
This is the same as our Main Text, in another version, and it already poses questions. This is where the “Natural Man”, who doesn’t understand the things of the Spirit (I Cor 2:14), commits blunders and further ruins his life.
He thinks the point of death ends it all forever.
Isa 22:12-13 At that time the Sovereign LORD of Heaven’s Armies, called for weeping and mourning, for shaved heads and sackcloth. But look, there is outright celebration! You say, “Kill the ox and slaughter the sheep, eat meat and drink wine. EAT AND DRINK, FOR TOMORROW WE DIE!” NET
Now, even for Christians who understand, the opening text still poses questions that should be answered: “If a man has died, which is a kind of judgment, why is he yet to face God’s judgment, which only imposes the same Death on him?”.
Let’s work with these now please.
Rom 5:12,14 Sin came into the world through one person, and death came through sin. So death spread to everyone, because everyone sinned…YET, DEATH RULED FROM THE TIME OF ADAM TO THE TIME OF MOSES, EVEN OVER THOSE WHO DID NOT SIN IN THE SAME WAY ADAM DID when he disobeyed. Adam is an image of the one who would come. GW
We will soon define Forms Of Death but first, we should know that the “Appointed death for all men” only [eventually] terminates every appointment they have in this Natural world.
That death is not diminutive for all men, though all saints and sinners must face it.
Ecc 9:10 Every time you find work to do, do it the best you can. In the grave there is no work. There is no thinking, no knowledge, and there is no wisdom. AND WE ARE ALL GOING TO THE PLACE OF DEATH. ERV
But now, if we are appointed “ONCE to Die”, why is there yet Judgment to impose Death on devils, sinners and God’s enemies?
This is where you know that Death, even in spiritual parlance, has many definitions and we would start looking at them from this point.
FORMS OF DEATH
We would have to start this section as with INITIATION OF DEATH. We started with angels, and so we’d have to look again at an important point.
Remember we quoted the following:
2Pe 2:4 For if God did not spare SINNING ANGELS, but thrust them down into Tartarus, and delivered them into chains of darkness, being reserved to judgment. MKJV
Here, they were described as sinning angels, but in the book of Jude, we have a description indicating the same point but give insight to our First form of death. Read this:
Jud 1:6 In the same way, there were heavenly messengers in rebellion WHO WENT OUTSIDE THEIR RIGHTFUL DOMAIN OF AUTHORITY AND ABANDONED THEIR APPOINTED REALMS. God bound them in everlasting chains and is keeping them in the dark abyss of the netherworld until the judgment of the great day. TPT
1. Separation From Divinity: The Principal Reason why this “First Death” becomes highly implicating is because it indicated the Rebellious Option of the individual who pursues it, and hence the consequences that follows.
The Angels and satan, their leader, chose to separate themselves from God and become gods in their own standing, but…
Isa 14:13-15 You always told yourself, "I will go to the skies above. I will put my throne above God's stars. I will sit on Zaphon, the holy mountain where the gods meet. I will go up to the altar above the tops of the clouds. I will be like God Most High." But that did not happen. YOU WERE BROUGHT DOWN to the deep pit—Sheol, the place of death. ERV
The result is that as you separate from God, you only go Down to death.
Those were angels, right? Did it happen that way to man too?
Let’s find out next lesson, shall we?
May all our labours beam with fullness of God’s Life and Strength, IN JESUS NAME.
See you on Monday, as we continue with this explosive Subtopic.

“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

1 Peter
'But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. '
