Modified Mana Myr

I'm back in the Myr Mines! There are a lot of myr in MtG, and although most the original batch are just Weird Big Robots, by Scars Myr had solidified to be "small guys that might make mana" and so we got a lot of variations on that theme- which of course makes it interesting to modify my own mana myr stat block! These are two myr that you may not want to use so lightly...

Myr, Plague

This myr is made with a small humanoid spine and has strange riblike protrusions coming out of its body. It drips with a discomforting fluid.

When a plague myr is used as a focus to cast a necromancy spell, the spell is cast at a +1 caster level and with a +1 DC. A plague myr registers as strong necromancy when viewed through Detect Magic or similar spells. Using a plague myr in this way exposes one to its disease. Scrying Focus (Ex)- Myr are perfect vessels for scrying on. They get a -5 penalty to saves against spells with the Scrying descriptor, and magical sensors made to scry on a myr and its surroundings get a +5 bonus against rolls to perceive it. Additionally, myr- and any object or creature they are in contact with- are not protected by spells such as Nondetection and Screen. Disease (Ex)- Myr Cough- Type: Disease, Injury, Inhaled Save: Fort DC14 Onset: 1d2 days Frequency: 1/day Effect: 1d3 Str and 1d3 Con, victim has a haggard dry cough Cure: 2 saves

Modified by an outsider from the original myr purpose, a plague myr is intended as the perfect vector for disease. It is programmed to, once unleashed, viciously attack any living creature it can see, infecting it with disease and fleeing so the victim spreads its new gift. This myr is infected with Myr Cough, but other diseases may be applied.

This small humanoid construct has a strange head shaped like a heavy beak. It resonates with enchanting energy.

Modified Mana Servant (Su)- A Mindsifter is a specialized bismuth myr, and can be used as a focus for enchantment spells as a mana myr. However, spells cast this way cannot affect the mindsifter, and it can choose to counter or redirect spells cast this way. Scrying Focus (Ex)- Myr are perfect vessels for scrying on. Mindsifters are an insidious breed of myr, an offshoot of bismuth mana myr. Unlike most mana myr they have a will and agenda of their own, using their usefulness as servants and ability to modify memories to manipulate and eventually control a spellcaster who takes one as a familiar. They carry within them knowledge of the master of the Plane of Metal and whatever long-term goals they have with the place, and are even rumored to have knowledge of their current whereabouts. None have yet succeeded in extracting this information, as very few even are aware of the existence of mindsifters.

PASTORAS... POR QUE NÃO?

Porque...

1º. Na criação, Deus estabeleceu o homem como cabeça e a mulher como auxiliadora (Gn 2.18/Ef 5.23). Como pode uma mulher ser cabeça na igreja e auxiliadora em casa?

2º. No Antigo Testamento, a liderança do povo de Deus era formada de Anciãos e Sacerdotes, não de anciãs e sacerdotisas.

3º. Débora (Jz 4.6), Miriã (Êx 15.20,21) e Hulda (2Rs 22.14) profetizaram, mas não exerceram ensino autoritativo diante do povo.

4º. Débora foi juíza em Israel por causa da omissão masculina. Todavia, ela não convocou o povo para a batalha, mas encorajou Baraque a fazê-lo (Jz 4.6,10).

5º. Quando Baraque insistiu na presença de Débora, ela o repreendeu para que ele assumisse a sua função de cabeça (Jz 4.9).

6º. Na história de Débora, a palavra “julgava” (shaphat) não significa governar, nem ensinar, mas decidir controvérsias.

7º. Os filhos de Israel subiam a Débora para juízo. Ela não estava governando ou ensinando um grupo, mas julgando questões do povo debaixo de uma palmeira (Jz 4.5).

8º. Débora não liderou a batalha. Baraque o fez. Por isso, ele é lembrado no futuro e Débora é omitida (1Sm 12.11; Hb 11.32).

9º. Crianças e mulheres como cabeças, ocupando o papel de homem, são sinal de juízo de Deus sobre o seu povo (Is 3.12).

10º. Por mais que Jesus fosse seguido por mulheres que o serviam (Mt 27.55), ele escolheu homens como apóstolos, colunas da Igreja.

11º. Sendo Jesus isento de quaisquer preconceitos poderia ter escolhido uma mulher para ser apóstola, mas não o fez porque o governo da Igreja foi designado a homens.

12º. Os apóstolos seguiram a mesma orientação submetendo a Deus a escolha de Matias no lugar de Judas (At 1.23).

13º. Na escolha dos diáconos não pensaram em mulheres para serem diaconisas (At 6.3).

14º. Paulo ensinou aos coríntios o padrão bíblico: o marido é o cabeça do lar, os presbíteros são os cabeças de suas igrejas locais, Cristo é o cabeça da Igreja global e Deus Pai é o cabeça de Cristo (1Co 11.3).

15º. Quando Paulo escreve aos Gálatas dizendo que, em Cristo, “não pode haver judeu nem grego; nem escravo nem liberto; nem homem nem mulher” (Gl 3.28) ele não está tratando de ofícios, de mas salvação.

16º. O propósito de Deus com a Bíblia foi o de alcançar todas as gerações, em todas as épocas. A Bíblia continua atual e nela Deus não deixou orientações a pastoras, presbíteras e diaconisas, mas a pastores, presbíteros e diáconos (1Tm 3 e Tt 1).

17º. O pastor ou presbítero deve ser “esposo de uma só mulher”, logo, homem (1Tm 3.2).

18º. Aqueles que devem se afadigar na Palavra e no ensino são presbíteros, homens (1Tm 5.17).

19º. As instruções pastorais quanto ao procedimento no trato com as ovelhas – ser brando para com todos, apto para instruir, paciente, disciplinando com mansidão os que se opõem – são dadas a homens (2Tm 2.24,25).

20º. As mulheres idosas são chamadas por Deus para ensinar “as jovens recém-casadas a amarem ao marido e a seus filhos” (Tt 2.3,4).

21º. Os anjos das cartas do Apocalipse eram pastores, homens. Os pronomes estão todos no masculino (Ap 2.1,8,12,18, 3.1,7,14).

22º. Os livros da Bíblia foram escritos por homens inspirados por Deus (2Pe 1.21)

23º. Na história da Igreja não encontramos mulheres sendo ordenadas aos ofícios, exceto em algumas heresias como no Montanismo.

24º. Na história da IPB nunca tivemos ordenação de mulheres ao oficialato. As irmãs nunca precisaram de cargos para trabalhar. Sempre trabalharam com dedicação e esmero.

25º. O argumento para a ordenação de pastoras, presbíteras e diaconisas não se sustenta biblicamente. É por isso que a argumentação favorável é sempre no viés cultural: “os tempos mudaram, etc...”

A Palavra de Deus não muda. Fiquemos firmes nela e tomemos cuidado com todo vento de doutrina (Ef 4.14).
