I still remember the feel of her skin.

I don’t think anyone ever forgets

(Or at-least I don’t, because everyone else seems to forget)

Some part of you always remembers.

Perhaps your nose

Or perhaps your teeth remember.

I remember she had the scent of

Warm-ness and something else.

Something distinct I could never place.

But it always filled your lungs.

It always lingered whenever she left the bathroom.

I do not know how I could never place it.

When it was so easily identifiable on everyone else.

All the signs….

They were so obvious.

Maybe she would’ve listened to me

But I never joined the dots together

Because I never believed something like this could happen.

But in the end,

When everything ended.

I finally recognised the smell.

The smell of death
