The National UN Volunteers-India
Republic Day celebration
St Mary's Academy, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh
This Republic Day, St. Mary resonated with the spirit of patriotism, unity, and cultural pride over three vibrant days. Celebrated with great enthusiasm under the meticulous supervision of our Principal, Brother Anand, and with the blessings of Brother Paul, Brother Antony, and Brother Pradeep, it was an unforgettable event.
🔰Kindergarten's Cultural Extravaganza (January 24th)
Our little patriots showcased their creativity and enthusiasm through:
-Tricolor Bookmark Making: Tiny hands crafted colorful bookmarks celebrating the nation.
-Handprint Flags: Little palms brought the tricolor to life.
-Slogan Writing: Budding minds shared inspiring messages of love for India.
Their special assembly, filled with songs, poems, and speeches, was a heartwarming start to the celebrations.
🔰School-Wide Celebrations (January 25th)
The rest of the school joined in with a grand cultural extravaganza featuring:
-A powerful Constitution-Making Act, reenacting the journey of B.R. Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sarojini Naidu as they shaped the foundation of our nation.
-Inspiring poems and acts celebrating India's legacy.
-Cultural dances that showcased the diversity of our beautiful nation.
Our chief guest, Mr. Rajiv Singhal, delivered an inspiring address that resonated with everyone.
🔰Republic Day Unfolds (January 26th)
The day began with the unfurling of the national flag by our esteemed guest, Mr. Ainuddin Shah. The celebrations concluded with a thrilling cricket match between Exma and our Marian team. Brother Paul's support and Brother Anand's active participation in the cricket match not only boosted the excitement but also inspired everyone present. The cherry on top was our team's victory, making the day even more memorable! Jai Hind!
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who made these celebrations so meaningful and memorable. Together, we celebrated the essence of India's unity and pride.

26th January 2018 Republic Day Speech In Hindi, English, Telugu, Kannada For Students
The Sixty fifth Republic Day of India was celebrated in Port Moresby on 26th January, 2014 with enthusiasm. I would like to say good morning to My Respected Principal, Sir, Madam and my dear colleagues. As we all know that we get together here to celebrate 67th Republic Day of our nation. This is very auspicious occasion for all of us. Since 1950, we are celebrating Republic Day every year with lots of joy and happiness. Before starting the celebration, our chief guest of the Republic Day hoists the national flag of India Then we all stand up and sing our Indian national anthem which is a symbol unity and peace in India. Our National Anthem is written by the great poet Rabindranath Tagore.
As we celebrate republic day on 26th January as the Indian constitution came into force on this day in 1950. On Republic day there is a big arrangement takes place by the government of India in New Delhi at Rajpath in front of the India gate. Every year the prime minister of India is a chief guest for hosting the Indian flag at Rajpath.
Tumblr media
In India 26th of January is celebrated as Republic Day every year because that constitution of India came into a drive on this day. It is praised as the national celebration of India which has been pronounced as the national occasion. Gandhi Jayanti and Independence Day are two another national occasions. On 26th of January in 1950 our nation turned out to be completely vote based republic after reinforcement of the Constitution of India in the Indian Parliament.
Firstly your 26 jan republic day speech is attractive and motivating. Republic day is a Nation Festival of India. On this day our constitution was developed. On 26 January 1950, our constitution developed on the presence of Jawahar Lal Nehru. When you want to give the speech in English used some motivation, feeling for our country word and makes your speech to inspirable another one.
As US President Donald Trump embarked on his controversial England tour, it was learnt that New Delhi has invited him as the chief guest for the Republic Day parade in 2019. Even for a government that routinely confuses foreign policy with public relations, this is a chancy move. After all, Trump has a well-developed reputation for enjoying the pageantry while simultaneously befouling his hosts from a high altitude. Yet the invitation casts into sharp relief the Prime Minister's faith in the power of his personal diplomacy as well as his desire for a special relationship with the United States. It also underscores the government's continuing inability to get the measure of US policies under Trump.
The other possibility is to have Argentinian President Mauricio Macri as the chief guest. This too is being considered because he will be in India in January-end next year. Before the meeting between the two sides next year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be meeting him at the G-20 summit in November as Argentina is the host country.
Happy Republic Day is the single day with all the beautiful seasons of India. For every Indian, this is the day of autumn and breeze, day of cooling summer nights and sunny winters, day full of glorious victory over British rule. To celebrate this beautiful day with full enthusiasm and zeal, lot many celebrations are planned every year including parade from the military and navy forces. Cultural programs from all the regions of India are presented on this day. President of India takes the army salute and Prime Minister pays tribute to the martyrs at Amar Jawan Jyoti. For making the day more special, every year a guest of honor is invited to India especially for the grand celebrations of Happy Republic Day.
Every year the main celebration of national holiday is take place in new Delhi(capital of India). In 2017, India was celebrate 68th republic day, now we are going to celebrate 70th India's republic day. Get ready for 70th celebration of republic day. In school programs kids participates on Republic Day Poem programs. So this 26 January Poem Lines will help you to win the competition.

The Meaning & History Of Memorial Day ~ Interesting & Fun Facts! | Presented By DeLena Ciamacco
THE MEANING & HISTORY OF MEMORIAL DAY
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America. Over two dozen cities and towns claim to be the birthplace of Memorial Day. While Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it’s difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day.
Regardless of the exact date or location of its origins, one thing is clear – Memorial Day was borne out of the Civil War and a desire to honor our dead. It was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11. “The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village and hamlet churchyard in the land,” he proclaimed. The date of Decoration Day, as he called it, was chosen because it wasn’t the anniversary of any particular battle. On the first Decoration Day, General James Garfield made a speech at Arlington National Cemetery, and 5,000 participants decorated the graves of the 20,000 Union and Confederate soldiers buried there.
The first state to officially recognize the holiday was New York in 1873. By 1890 it was recognized by all of the northern states. The South refused to acknowledge the day, honoring their dead on separate days until after World War I (when the holiday changed from honoring just those who died fighting in the Civil War to honoring Americans who died fighting in any war).
It is now observed in almost every state on the last Monday in May with Congressional passage of the National Holiday Act of 1971 (P.L. 90 – 363). This helped ensure a three day weekend for Federal holidays, though several southern states have an additional separate day for honoring the Confederate war dead: January 19th in Texas; April 26th in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi; May 10th in South Carolina; and June 3rd (Jefferson Davis’ birthday) in Louisiana and Tennessee.
Red Poppies
In 1915, inspired by the poem “In Flanders Fields,” Moina Michael replied with her own poem:
We cherish too, the Poppy red That grows on fields where valor led, It seems to signal to the skies That blood of heroes never dies. She then conceived of an idea to wear red poppies on Memorial Day in honor of those who died serving the nation during war. She was the first to wear one, and sold poppies to her friends and co-workers with the money going to benefit servicemen in need. Later a Madam Guerin from France was visiting the United States and learned of this new custom started by Ms. Michael. When she returned to France she made artificial red poppies to raise money for war orphaned children and widowed women. This tradition spread to other countries. In 1921, the Franco-American Children’s League sold poppies nationally to benefit war orphans of France and Belgium. The League disbanded a year later and Madam Guerin approached the VFW for help.
Shortly before Memorial Day in 1922 the VFW became the first veterans’ organization to nationally sell poppies. Two years later their “Buddy” Poppy program was selling artificial poppies made by disabled veterans. In 1948 the US Post Office honored Ms. Michael for her role in founding the National Poppy movement by issuing a red 3 cent postage stamp with her likeness on it.
National Moment of Remembrance
The “National Moment of Remembrance” resolution was passed on Dec 2000 which asks that at 3 p.m. local time, for all Americans “To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence.
