Men’s Basketball : USA vs. Spain 2019

USA Basketball announced the USA Men’s National Team and they will play international rival Spain on Aug. 16, Friday at 7 p.m. at Honda Center leading into the FIBA World Cup for Men 2019.

Popovich will be helped by NBA head coaches Steve Kerr (Golden State Warriors) and Nate McMillan (Indiana Pacers) as well as Villanova University head coach Jay Wright. Players selected for representing the USA in the year 2019 are expected to be NBA players who are part of the 2019 – 20 USA National Team roster.

USA and San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said, ‘The exhibition games will help our team learn about each other and building up the chemistry that is essential in order to compete at the level needed for the FIBA World Cup. The Blue-White game will be significant in our process to determine the USA team, and playing an outstanding and experienced international team such as Spain will be a challenge and vital in our preparations.’
