16Now in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoshaphat having been king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat began to reign as [b]king of Judah. 17He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. 18And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the sight of the Lord. 19Yet the Lord would not destroy Judah, for the sake of His servant David, as He promised him to give a lamp to him and his sons forever.
20In his days Edom revolted against Judah’s authority, and made a king over themselves. 21So [c]Joram went to Zair, and all his chariots with him. Then he rose by night and attacked the Edomites who had surrounded him and the captains of the chariots; and the troops fled to their tents. 22Thus Edom has been in revolt against Judah’s authority to this day. And Libnah revolted at that time.
23Now the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 24So Joram [d]rested with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the City of David. Then Ahaziah[e] his son reigned in his place.

0:00I cleaned Romario's boots so many times.
0:03Getting his coffee... I have never seen a person drink so many coffees.
0:08I would always get him coffee.
0:21Of course I remember it. In fact, my mum did it.
0:24The haircut.
0:27It was back when Ronaldo was playing in the Word Cup,
0:30and I copied the style.
0:35I copied his haircut, what else could I do?
0:38The picture is there to prove it.
0:41But at least you got your mother's approval.
0:45Most mothers cursed me for it.
0:49And if you look closely, it's blue.
0:52I was playing in a final, in this picture,
0:55and I even dyed it blue.
0:57You see, my mother approved it and I went and dyed it.
1:01It is very cool because we have this responsibility
1:04that we often don't even realise.
1:06-Yeah. -A haircut can influence...
1:08Look at the amount of haircuts you've had.
1:10It influenced thousands of kids.
1:13Football really is something you can't explain.
1:16You can't explain it. When we do these crazy things,
1:19we have no idea how big it will get.
1:22I suppose, when you had that haircut, you had no idea everyone would copy it.
1:28You did it because you felt like it, as I did with my ones...
1:32I get them just because I feel like it.
1:35Yeah, sometimes people take it in a way that makes no sense.
1:38It is just a haircut, something everyone does.
1:42It is a pity they take it so far,
1:45because it is something silly.
1:47It is very silly to compare haircuts with football styles.
1:51Or with something that...
1:53-I agree. -...has nothing to do with it.
1:55But lots of people say lots of stupid things in football.
1:58But, anyway, this is something that is not likely to change.
2:02-People will always make stupid comments. -That's true.
2:05Goal...
2:10by Santos!
2:13I was very slender.
2:15I had difficulty building strength.
2:19And I could not take all the challenges because I was lighter than the others.
2:24So I had to think faster and be faster than they were.
2:27I also found it very difficult when I was young, at the beginning.
2:32Because, besides the threats, which were really scary...
2:37Right? Playing with adults who cursed and spat, threatened you...
2:43You take this to your personal life,
2:45you feel scared, you are a kid.
2:49There are punches, strong threats.
2:52Back in my day, there were three cameras, at the beginning of my career,
2:56filming the game.
2:57They rarely caught the assaults.
2:59-True. -Now, there is more surveillance.
3:01-I caught a bit of this... -You did.
3:03...of this side of things.
3:04That's without taking pranks into account. Did you get any?
3:07What? Many!
3:08I had some too. Horrible.
3:12-But it was a tradition. -It was.
3:14-Senior players mistreated younger ones. -They'd send us to get coffees...
3:19Clean their boots... I cleaned Romario's boots so many times.
3:22Getting his coffee... I have never seen a person drink so many coffees.
3:28And I would always get him coffee.
3:31It was great, because we learned discipline,
3:34a healthy hierarchy within a sport environment. It's cool.
3:39My biggest problem was the cold.
3:41I always felt very cold.
3:43And at the beginning, in Holland, it was very cold, really.
3:47Minus 15, minus 20 degrees,
3:50and the pitches were not heated.
3:55So we played on a hard pitch, often frozen.
3:59And in order to heat our feet, we had to use a cream,
4:02we had to put it on before the game.
4:04There was a whole procedure to play in the cold.
4:07You had to consider a thousand things.
4:09Your feet had to be heated, otherwise...
4:11Until my feet understood the need for that cream, they froze.
4:15I couldn't play, I couldn't feel my feet.
4:19And I think all the rest...
4:21Not much. Training, maybe.
4:26There was a lot of heading training, heading competitions.
4:30In one of my first training sessions, I competed for the ball
4:33and cut my eyebrow. I got 10 stitches.
4:36From then on, my average goal scoring with my head dropped dramatically.
4:41I did not go up to compete with any defender.
4:44I had to make do with kicking the ball with my feet.
4:47Yeah, heading is not the best part of the game.
4:50I arrived a bit more thick skinned.
4:54I was 21, I had been playing professionally for many years,
4:58and the adaptation was good.
5:00-Because Barcelona is... -Barcelona is easier.
5:03-...easier to adapt to. -Than Holland.
5:05It gets cold too, one of the things I don't like about Europe is the cold,
5:10for exactly the same reasons,
5:13-our feet freeze, when they freeze... -It's awful when they freeze.
5:16There are two problems, actually,
5:18when you put the cream on, your feet heat up,
5:21-and then, after the match... -The shower?
5:23-Taking a shower... -They burn!
5:27-They really burn! -It's an awful feeling.

23And God raised up another adversary against him, Rezon the son of Eliadah, who had fled from his lord, Hadadezer king of Zobah. 24So he gathered men to him and became captain over a band of raiders, when David killed those of Zobah. And they went to Damascus and dwelt there, and reigned in Damascus. 25He was an adversary of Israel all the days of Solomon (besides the trouble that Hadad caused); and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
Jeroboam’s Rebellion
26Then Solomon’s servant, Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite from Zereda, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow, also rebelled against the king.
27And this is what caused him to rebel against the king: Solomon had built the Millo and [f]repaired the damages to the City of David his father. 28The man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor; and Solomon, seeing that the young man was industrious, made him the officer over all the labor force of the house of Joseph.
29Now it happened at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite met him on the way; and he had clothed himself with a new garment, and the two were alone in the field. 30Then Ahijah took hold of the new garment that was on him, and tore it into twelve pieces. 31And he said to Jeroboam, “Take for yourself ten pieces, for thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and will give ten tribes to you 32(but he shall have one tribe for the sake of My servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel), 33because [g]they have forsaken Me, and worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the people of Ammon, and have not walked in My ways to do what is right in My eyes and keep My statutes and My judgments, as did his father David. 34However I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, because I have made him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of My servant David, whom I chose because he kept My commandments and My statutes. 35But I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand and give it to you—ten tribes. 36And to his son I will give one tribe, that My servant David may always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for Myself, to put My name there. 37So I will take you, and you shall reign over all your heart desires, and you shall be king over Israel. 38Then it shall be, if you heed all that I command you, walk in My ways, and do what is right in My sight, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as My servant David did, then I will be with you and build for you an enduring house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you. 39And I will afflict the descendants of David because of this, but not forever.’ ”
40Solomon therefore sought to kill Jeroboam. But Jeroboam arose and fled to Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.

#DailyDevotion If You Fear The LORD, You Need Not Fear Anything Else
#DailyDevotion If You Fear The LORD, You Need Not Fear Anything Else Psalm 147 7Sing a hymn of thanks to the LORD; play on the lyre to our God. 8He covers the sky with clouds, prepares rain for the ground, and makes grass grow on the hills. 9He gives food to the animals and to the young crows that call. 10He doesn't delight in a horse's strength or take pleasure in a man's legs. 11The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, who look for His mercy. The psalmist continues with his praise to the LORD. This section begins with thanksgiving and a call to play instruments to our God. Thanksgiving is a sort of praise as it acknowledges the gifts of the giver and the giver of those gifts. Here the LORD gives us the gift of clouds and rain which cause the grass and crops to grow. In providing this He gives food to the animals and even the crows. Reminds me of another verse in the Psalms which recalls the young lions growing for their food or something like that. We of course should imitate the crows and call out to our Father for daily bread. Verse 10 is much like the previous psalm, “3Don't put your trust in the best of men, or in human beings who can't save.” As we don't put our trust in man nor should we put our trust in a horse's strength or men's legs. The LORD doesn't take pleasure in them. I'm certain he is speaking of these in terms of war and battle where these things appear necessary. What is the counter thought to this? The LORD takes pleasure in those that fear Him and look for His mercy. This is why the LORD took such pleasure in David. David trusted that he was merely an instrument in the LORD's hands. He did not trust in his own strength or the strength of his armies. He did not trust in the weapons of war. All these things were nothing for him if the LORD were not on his side. The LORD was on his side because He feared the LORD and trusted in the promises handed down from Moses in the wilderness and written in the Torah. Do we live our lives fearing the LORD and looking to Him for His mercy? Do we trust in the promises given to us by Christ Jesus? Here are a few: Matt. 6, 7 “When you pray, don't babble like pagans, who think they'll be heard if they talk a lot. 8Don't be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” Matt. 7, 7“Ask, and it will be given to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. 8Anyone who asks receives; anyone who searches finds; and anyone who knocks, the door will be opened for him.” John 14, 2“In My Father's house there are many rooms. If it were not so, I would have told you, because I go to prepare a place for you. 3And when I have gone and prepared a place for you, I'll come again and take you home with Me so you'll be where I am.” “13and I will do anything you ask in My name in order that the Son may glorify the Father. 14If you ask Me for anything in My name, I'll do it.” John 16, 23“...I tell you the truth, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. 24So far you haven't asked for anything in My name. Ask and you will receive and your joy will be complete.” When we pray and when we live trusting in these promises, the LORD takes great pleasure in us and delights in us. How much different might your life be if you feared the LORD and trusted His promises and looked to Him from Mercy in every aspect of your life? I pray these promises encourage you to do so. Merciful God and Father, look with mercy upon us, and give us Your Holy Spirit so we may truly fear Your name, trust in Your great mercy and we may live all our days and your peace. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen Read the full article

John 18
Judas Betrays Jesus
(Matt. 26:47–56; Mark 14:43–52; Luke 22:47–53 )
1¶
When Jesus had spoken these words, He went away with His disciples across the fnravine of the Kidron, where there was a garden which He entered fnwith His disciples.
2Now Judas, who was fnbetraying Him, also knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with His disciples.
3So Judas, having obtained the Roman fncohort and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, *came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.
4Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, came out into the open and *said to them, “Whom are you seeking?”
5They answered Him, “Jesus the Nazarene.” He *said to them, “I am He.” And Judas also, who was betraying Him, was standing with them.
6Now then, when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.
7He then asked them again, “Whom are you seeking?” And they said, “Jesus the Nazarene.”
8Jesus answered, “I told you that I am He; so if you are seeking Me, let these men go on their way.”
9This took place so that the word which He spoke would be fulfilled: “Of those whom You have given Me I lost not one.”
10Then Simon Peter, since he had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s slave, and cut off his right ear; and the slave’s name was Malchus.
11So Jesus said to Peter, “Put the sword into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given Me, am I not to drink it?”
Jesus before the Priests
12¶
So the Roman fncohort, the fncommander, and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him,
13and brought Him to Annas first; for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.
14Now Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jews that it was in their best interest for one man to die in behalf of the people.
(Matt. 26:69–75; Mark 14:66–72; Luke 22:54–62 )
15¶
Simon Peter was following Jesus, and so was another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and he entered with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest,
16but Peter was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the doorkeeper, and brought Peter in.
17Then the slave woman who was the doorkeeper *said to Peter, “You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you?” He *said, “I am not.”
18Now the slaves and the officers were standing there, having made a charcoal fire, for it was cold and they were warming themselves; and Peter was also with them, standing and warming himself.
19¶
The high priest then questioned Jesus about His disciples, and about His teaching.
20Jesus answered him, “I have spoken openly to the world; I always taught in fnsynagogues and in the temple area, where all the Jews congregate; and I said nothing in secret.
21“Why are you asking Me? Ask those who have heard what I spoke to them. Look: these people know what I said.”
22But when He said this, one of the officers, who was standing nearby, struck Jesus, saying, “Is that the way You answer the high priest?”
23Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken wrongly, testify of the wrong; but if rightly, why do you strike Me?”
24So Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
Peter’s Denial of Jesus
25¶
Now Simon Peter was still standing and warming himself. So they said to him, “You are not one of His disciples as well, are you?” He denied it, and said, “I am not.”
26One of the slaves of the high priest, who was related to the one whose ear Peter cut off, *said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”
27Peter then denied it again, and immediately a rooster crowed.
Jesus before Pilate
(Matt. 27:1, 2, 11–14; Mark 15:1–5; Luke 23:1–5 )
28¶
Then they *brought Jesus from Caiaphas into the fnPraetorium, and it was early; and they themselves did not enter the fnPraetorium, so that they would not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.
29Therefore Pilate came out to them and *said, “What accusation are you bringing against this Man?”
30They answered and said to him, “If this Man were not fna criminal, we would not have handed Him over to you.”
31So Pilate said to them, “Take Him yourselves, and judge Him according to your law.” The Jews said to him, “We are not fnpermitted to put anyone to death.”
32This happened so that the word of Jesus which He said, indicating what kind of death He was going to die, would be fulfilled.
33¶
Therefore Pilate entered the Praetorium again, and summoned Jesus and said to Him, “You are the King of the Jews?”
34Jesus answered, “Are you saying this fnon your own, or did others tell you about Me?”
35Pilate answered, “I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests handed You over to me; what have You done?”
36Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not fnof this realm.”
37Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this purpose I have been born, and for this I have come into the world: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.”
38Pilate *said to Him, “What is truth?”
And after saying this, he came out again to the Jews and *said to them, “I find no grounds at all for charges in fnHis case.
(Matt. 27:15–23; Mark 15:6–14; Luke 23:13–23 )
39“However, you have a custom that I release one prisoner fnfor you at the Passover; therefore do you wish that I release fnfor you the King of the Jews?”
40So they shouted again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas.” Now Barabbas was a rebel.

1 Samuel 25
New King James Version
Death of Samuel
1Then Samuel died; and the Israelites gathered together and lamented for him, and buried him at his home in Ramah. And David arose and went down to the Wilderness of [a]Paran.
David and the Wife of Nabal
2Now there was a man in Maon whose business was in Carmel, and the man was very rich. He had three thousand sheep and a thousand goats. And he was shearing his sheep in Carmel. 3The name of the man was Nabal, and the name of his wife Abigail. And she was a woman of good understanding and beautiful appearance; but the man was harsh and evil in his doings. He was of the house of Caleb.
4When David heard in the wilderness that Nabal was shearing his sheep, 5David sent ten young men; and David said to the young men, “Go up to Carmel, go to Nabal, and greet him in my name. 6And thus you shall say to him who lives in prosperity: ‘Peace be to you, peace to your house, and peace to all that you have! 7Now I have heard that you have shearers. Your shepherds were with us, and we did not hurt them, nor was there anything missing from them all the while they were in Carmel. 8Ask your young men, and they will tell you. Therefore [b]let my young men find favor in your eyes, for we come on a feast day. Please give whatever comes to your hand to your servants and to your son David.’ ”
9So when David’s young men came, they spoke to Nabal according to all these words in the name of David, and waited.
10Then Nabal answered David’s servants, and said, “Who is David, and who is the son of Jesse? There are many servants nowadays who break away each one from his master. 11Shall I then take my bread and my water and my [c]meat that I have killed for my shearers, and give it to men when I do not know where they are from?”
12So David’s young men turned on their heels and went back; and they came and told him all these words. 13Then David said to his men, “Every man gird on his sword.” So every man girded on his sword, and David also girded on his sword. And about four hundred men went with David, and two hundred stayed with the supplies.
14Now one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal’s wife, saying, “Look, David sent messengers from the wilderness to greet our master; and he [d]reviled them. 15But the men were very good to us, and we were not hurt, nor did we miss anything as long as we accompanied them, when we were in the fields. 16They were a wall to us both by night and day, all the time we were with them keeping the sheep. 17Now therefore, know and consider what you will do, for harm is determined against our master and against all his household. For he is such a scoundrel[e] that one cannot speak to him.”
18Then Abigail made haste and took two hundred loaves of bread, two skins of wine, five sheep already dressed, five seahs of roasted grain, one hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and loaded them on donkeys. 19And she said to her servants, “Go on before me; see, I am coming after you.” But she did not tell her husband Nabal.
20So it was, as she rode on the donkey, that she went down under cover of the hill; and there were David and his men, coming down toward her, and she met them. 21Now David had said, “Surely in vain I have protected all that this fellow has in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that belongs to him. And he has repaid me evil for good. 22May God do so, and more also, to the enemies of David, if I leave one male of all who belong to him by morning light.”
23Now when Abigail saw David, she dismounted quickly from the donkey, fell on her face before David, and bowed down to the ground. 24So she fell at his feet and said: “On me, my lord, on me let this iniquity be! And please let your maidservant [f]speak in your ears, and hear the words of your maidservant. 25Please, let not my lord [g]regard this scoundrel Nabal. For as his name is, so is he: [h]Nabal is his name, and folly is with him! But I, your maidservant, did not see the young men of my lord whom you sent. 26Now therefore, my lord, as the Lord lives and as your soul lives, since the Lord has held you back from coming to bloodshed and from avenging[i] yourself with your own hand, now then, let your enemies and those who seek harm for my lord be as Nabal. 27And now this present which your maidservant has brought to my lord, let it be given to the young men who follow my lord. 28Please forgive the trespass of your maidservant. For the Lord will certainly make for my lord an enduring house, because my lord fights the battles of the Lord, and evil is not found in you throughout your days. 29Yet a man has risen to pursue you and seek your life, but the life of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of the living with the Lord your God; and the lives of your enemies He shall sling out, as from the pocket of a sling. 30And it shall come to pass, when the Lord has done for my lord according to all the good that He has spoken concerning you, and has appointed you ruler over Israel, 31that this will be no grief to you, nor offense of heart to my lord, either that you have shed blood without cause, or that my lord has avenged himself. But when the Lord has dealt well with my lord, then remember your maidservant.”
32Then David said to Abigail: “Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, who sent you this day to meet me! 33And blessed is your advice and blessed are you, because you have kept me this day from coming to bloodshed and from avenging myself with my own hand. 34For indeed, as the Lord God of Israel lives, who has kept me back from hurting you, unless you had hurried and come to meet me, surely by morning light no males would have been left to Nabal!” 35So David received from her hand what she had brought him, and said to her, “Go up in peace to your house. See, I have heeded your voice and respected your person.”
36Now Abigail went to Nabal, and there he was, holding a feast in his house, like the feast of a king. And Nabal’s heart was merry within him, for he was very drunk; therefore she told him nothing, little or much, until morning light. 37So it was, in the morning, when the wine had gone from Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became like a stone. 38Then it happened, after about ten days, that the Lord struck Nabal, and he died.
39So when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, “Blessed be the Lord, who has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and has kept His servant from evil! For the Lord has returned the wickedness of Nabal on his own head.”
And David sent and proposed to Abigail, to take her as his wife. 40When the servants of David had come to Abigail at Carmel, they spoke to her saying, “David sent us to you, to ask you to become his wife.”
41Then she arose, bowed her face to the earth, and said, “Here is your maidservant, a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.” 42So Abigail rose in haste and rode on a donkey, [j]attended by five of her maidens; and she followed the messengers of David, and became his wife. 43David also took Ahinoam of Jezreel, and so both of them were his wives.
44But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David’s wife, to [k]Palti the son of Laish, who was from Gallim.

2 Kings 2:19
19Then the men of the city said to Elisha, “Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren.”
20And he said, “Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. 21Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘I have [c]healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.’ ” 22So the water remains healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.
23Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!”
24So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the Lord. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.
25Then he went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.

Moab Rebels Against Israel
1Now Jehoram the son of Ahab became king over Israel at Samaria in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years. 2And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, but not like his father and mother; for he put away the sacred pillar of Baal that his father had made. 3Nevertheless he persisted in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who had made Israel sin; he did not depart from them.
4Now Mesha king of Moab was a sheepbreeder, and he regularly paid the king of Israel one hundred thousand lambs and the wool of one hundred thousand rams. 5But it happened, when Ahab died, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.
6So King Jehoram went out of Samaria at that time and mustered all Israel. 7Then he went and sent to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, saying, “The king of Moab has rebelled against me. Will you go with me to fight against Moab?”
And he said, “I will go up; I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.” 8Then he said, “Which way shall we go up?”
And he answered, “By way of the Wilderness of Edom.”
9So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom, and they marched on that roundabout route seven days; and there was no water for the army, nor for the animals that followed them. 10And the king of Israel said, “Alas! For the Lord has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”
11But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?”
So one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said, “Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured[a] water on the hands of Elijah.”
12And Jehoshaphat said, “The word of the Lord is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
13Then Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.”
But the king of Israel said to him, “No, for the Lord has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”
14And Elisha said, “As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you, nor see you. 15But now bring me a musician.”
Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him. 16And he said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Make this valley full of [b]ditches.’ 17For thus says the Lord: ‘You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink.’ 18And this is a simple matter in the sight of the Lord; He will also deliver the Moabites into your hand. 19Also you shall attack every fortified city and every choice city, and shall cut down every good tree, and stop up every spring of water, and ruin every good piece of land with stones.”
20Now it happened in the morning, when the grain offering was offered, that suddenly water came by way of Edom, and the land was filled with water.
21And when all the Moabites heard that the kings had come up to fight against them, all who were able to bear arms and older were [c]gathered; and they stood at the border. 22Then they rose up early in the morning, and the sun was shining on the water; and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood. 23And they said, “This is blood; the kings have surely struck swords and have killed one another; now therefore, Moab, to the spoil!”
24So when they came to the camp of Israel, Israel rose up and attacked the Moabites, so that they fled before them; and they entered their land, killing the Moabites. 25Then they destroyed the cities, and each man threw a stone on every good piece of land and filled it; and they stopped up all the springs of water and cut down all the good trees. But they left the stones of Kir Haraseth intact. However the slingers surrounded and attacked it.
26And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too fierce for him, he took with him seven hundred men who drew swords, to break through to the king of Edom, but they could not. 27Then he took his eldest son who would have reigned in his place, and offered him as a burnt offering upon the wall; and there was great [d]indignation against Israel. So they departed from him and returned to their own land.
Praise the Lord, the Lord Jehovah! God of Israel, God of all. Thou art ever near Thy people, Thou dost answer when they call.
2 Weary trav’ler o’er life's desert, Tortured by its burning sand, Lift your heart and eyes to heaven For deliv’rance is at hand. Stop, and in the barren valley Dig the wells and trenches wide; God will fill them with His blessing, ‘Till thy heart is satisfied.

#DailyDevotion Jesus Enthroned Forever Is Our Hope
#DailyDevotion Jesus Enthroned Forever Is Our Hope Psalm 102 12But You, O LORD, are on Your throne forever; You are remembered through all the ages. 13You will rise and be merciful to Zion - it's time to be kind to her, the time that was set has come. 14Your servants delight even in Zion's stones and pity even her dust. It sounds like here that this was perhaps written after the destruction of Jerusalem. The LORD sits on His throne in heaven above forever. It isn't just in the Holy of Holies in the now destroyed temple. Perhaps it is close to the time the LORD promised for the Jews to return and rebuild after the Babylonian exile. He speaks of it is time now for the LORD to be kind to her. We should remember the LORD indeed is on His throne forever. The LORD Jesus Christ sits at the right hand of God. The LORD also has His throne in our hearts and reigns there. 15The nations will fear the LORD's name, and all the kings of the world His glory. 16When the LORD builds Zion, He will be seen there in His glory. 17He will listen to the prayer of those stripped of everything; He doesn't despise their prayer. When Nehemiah, Ezra and Zerubbabel returned to Jerusalem to rebuild it and its temple the surrounding nations feared greatly. However, here the nations have a proper fear of the LORD's name and the kings of the world His glory. The name they have reverence for is Jesus who is the King of glory. The Church is Zion which the LORD Jesus is building. He hears our prayers and intercedes for us into the ear of the Father, we being the temples of God. The Father does not despise our prayers when we come to Him in faith in the name of Jesus. 18This will be written down for a future generation, so a people still to be created can praise the LORD. 19The LORD looked down from His high and holy place; He looked from heaven at the earth, 20to hear the prisoner groan and to free those doomed to die, 21to hear those in Zion tell about the LORD's name, and His praise in Jerusalem, 22when the people and kingdoms are gathered to serve the LORD. And well, here we are, future generations reading this as purposed by the psalmist. We are a people who were still be created who praise the LORD Jesus Christ. The LORD looked down upon us who were prisoners to sin and the fear of death. He conquered one on the cross and the other in the grave. So we confess the name of the LORD Jesus Christ before the world and in His Church. Weekly He gathers the peoples and kingdoms to serve them and to be served by Him. 23When on the way, He weakened my strength and shortened my life; 24so I said, “My God, don't take me away in the middle of my life. Your years last forever. 25Long ago You laid the earth's foundation, and Your hands made the heavens. 26They perish, but You go on; they will all wear out like a garment; You will change them like clothes, and they will pass away, 27but You are the same and Your years never end. 28Your servants' children will live undisturbed, and their descendants will stand firm before You.” We are but dust in this life. The LORD Jesus Christ and His kingdom reigns forever. Creation wears out but He goes on forever. He never changes, yesterday, today and forever. When He returns and purifies creation, we will be raised incorruptible, we and our children who continue in the faith and will live undisturbed and will stand firm forever before the LORD. Merciful God and Father, grant us faith in Christ so we may be Your temple where You reign in our hearts and minds. Have us persevere in this faith so we may enter His kingdom and live and reign with Him forever. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Read the full article
