New Holicworks game: Tokyo Satsujinki Gakkou no Kaidan

Last month Holicworks announced their new 18+ BL visual novel, Tokyo Satsujinki Gakkou no Kaidan! The scenario writer (Nakajo Rosa) and director (Kouji Mio) also worked on the company's previous titles (Tokyo 24ku, Taisho Mebiusline and Beniiro Tenjou Ayakashi Kitan). This time the artist will be Asahi Miyabi, who I couldn't really find any information about, but the art looks very good so far.

Synopsis Amaterasu has existed since ancient times, as Japan's supreme deity. Aramatsuri, on the other hand, symbolizes the evil powers that also exists in this world. Good and evil, happiness and misfortune, life and death, all of it was derived from Amaterasu and Aramatsuri. Aramatsuri sometimes materializes and causes disruptions to the world, which can also affect humans.

The main character, Yuzuru Kurotori, is a civil servant working for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. He belongs to the Aramatsuri Countermeasure Division, located on the 7th floor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. The department gathers individuals who are able to see Aramatsuri. There are various methods to test this ability, but in the end, they have to be able to see a huge flower on top of the clock tower in Yoyogi (which can also be seen in the picture above). It has been three years since Yuzuru joined, but Aramatsuri can still be sensed in Tokyo.

I definitely recommend checking out the official website, the main visual you can see above is actually animated! I hope the game will have animated CGs too, something I really enjoyed while playing some of their older games like Taisho Mebiusline and Tokyo Onmyouji. I’m a big fan of the protagonist’s design, especially the high heels, black nails and black sword! The website also introduces a couple of other new characters, which are probably going to be the love interests. Tendou Taki (the one with the glasses) is Kurotori’s senior who works for the same organization. He’s from a family that specialists in magic and divination (Onmyoudou). If you’ve played Tokyo Onmyouji, you might be familiar with these themes!

The second new character is Inami You (left), a man who’s originally from Okinawa. Although he’s a temporary employee of the Aramatsuri Countermeasure Division, he has the longest history with the department and knows the most. Due to the complexity of his career, most people don’t know much about him. He’s able to use Amaterasu’s power. Next is Tsubaki Isuzu (middle). He’s an entertainer who works as a stuntman and an idol, and doesn’t seem to be connected to the organization the other characters are part of. The final new main character is Isshiki Seimei (right), a bartender who owns a bar in Shinjuku Sanchome. He’s technically also an Onmyouji, but because Onmyoudou has been on a decline recently he gave up on making this his career. Although it’s not his official job, he can still use some of his spells.

I really hope they will show some of the CGs soon, but I’m surprised they revealed so much information already! I am curious what kind of form the ‘’Aramatsuri’’ takes, right now I have no idea what the battles will look like or what the flower on top of the building even symbolizes. The second part of the game's title literally translates to ''school ghost stories'' but none of the main characters seem to be in school. I'm guessing the plot also focuses on murders, because that’s also in the game’s title... Either way, I’ll be patient and hope they release more info about the game later this year!

Sangat bersyukur Allah masih memberi kesepatan untuk menginjakan usia di angka ini. Meskipun beberapa kali mengernyitkan dahi, sungguh aku sudah menginjak angka ini? Waktu berjalan cepat sekali, rasanya diusia ini banyak hal yang sudah harus mulai ditata lebih rapi. Meletakan semua hal pada tempatnya masing-masing.

Diusia ini aku sudah melewati dan merasakan fase baru dalam hidupku, fase terlepas dari status mahasiswa dan saat ini menjadi pekerja. Beberapa pertanyaan yang dulu sempat terlontarkan akhirnya menemui jawabanya, meski tak seluruhnya. Aku lulus kapan? Setelah lulus akan memilih jalan apa? Jika bekerja akan bekerja dimana? Barangkali memang seperti ini, semua pertanyaan pada akhirnya akan menemui jawabannya. Waktu yang akan menjawab sesuai dengan takdir yang sudah Allah tetapkan

Di usia ini memang banyak sekali tantangan baru yang mulanya tak ada menjadi ada. Tantangan mengenai mimpi yang memang harus sedikit ditunda, kemudian meyakinkan pada diri sediri bahwa jalan belum tertutup. Di usia ini akhirnya menemui dan memulai kegalauan kegalauan baru, yang kemudian harus dialihkan untuk memikirkan hal lain supaya tidak terfokus pada hal itu

 24ku, jadilah lompatan tertinggi untuk menjadi dirimu yang lebih baik. Belajarlah dan berlatihlah menjadi apa yang kamu ingini untuk menjadi seperti apa , jangan pernah lelah. Belajarlah.

Menunggu kabar baik

Aku menunggu kabar baik itu tiba. Segera menghampiri di hari bahagia ini. Dulu waktu belum berumah tangga yang paling dinanti adalah ucapan selamat, kado bahkan kejutan kecil juga dinanti sekali. Tapi seiring bertambahnya usia itu semua tak lagi ada dalam daftar penantian. Yang ku nanti hari ini adalah kabar baik yang datangnya pasti namun belum juga sampai telinga. Kabar baik yang sumbernya dariNya dari pencipta.

Kabar baik tentang jalan cerita kehidupan kedepannya. Kabar baik suami bisa diterima di sekolah idamannya. Kabar baik lelah suami bekerja ada nilainya. Kabar baik yang setiap malam membuat gusar hingga membuatku mengeluh tentang makna hidup.

Hingga akhirnya aku hanya bisa bersabar karena itu pasti pahala jaminannya.

Semua akan sampai pada waktu terbaiknya.

Sekalipun hari ini banyak sekali pemikiran juga beban yang menganggu kententraman hati. Namun sekali lagi Sang Maha Pencipta lebih tahu tentang hidupku. Jika hari ini kabar baik itu tak kunjung tiba, tak apa. Karena sejatinya aku tak mengharap selain padaNya.

Dan Alhamdulilah kabar baik hari ini aku tetap bisa membelikan susu untuk buah hati tercinta. Sekalipun itu adalah lembaran rupiah terakhir yang ada di dompetku. Alhamdulillah aku masih diberi kesempatan menjalankan aktivitas.

Aku masih bisa menjumpai usia ke 24ku dengan senyum. Dengan bahagia atas kehidupanku yang serba cukup adanya.

Mungkin aku terdengar egois, tapi ini demi kebaikan hubungan kita, jika luka itu belum pulih mari kita beri jeda sampai dadamu benar-benar legah lalu kembali lagi membangun hubungan yang indah, bermakna yang penuh canda tawa.

New HolicWorks BL visual novel: Suito wa Hakumei

Last month Holicworks released information about the new BL visual novel project they’ve been working on called Suito wa Hakumei (水都は薄明), also called “Twilight Aqua City’’. I’m very excited for this one because this company also released some other amazing BL visual novels like Taisho Mebiusline, Tokyo Onmyouji (which recently got an English translation!) and Tokyo 24Ku.

Sypnosis Set in Meiji era Japan, the game focuses on a city surrounded by twilight where the sun never rises. The only thing they fear is the night, when demons appear who kidnap and kill people for no known reason. To counter these demons, a group of special guards was formed, known as the ‘’Yonomori’’. The main character Mahora also belongs to this group and is on a mission to defeat the demons. However, during one of their expeditions he met a demon called Shuu who’s currently living with him. One day he’s attacked by another demon, who demands Mahora gives Shuu back to him...

Mahora (真秀) The protagonist. A member of the third team of the demon extermination group. This group seems to be the one where all the problem children of the military are gathered. Mahora himself isn't the reason for this though, nobody else could be paired up with his friend Hozumi who’s known for his problematic behavior. Mahora loves sweets and often writes his opinions about the various sweets he enjoyed in his notebook. He's often together with a demon named Shuu, which some people seem to be aware of.

Hozumi (穂純) A member of the third team of the demon extermination group, who's not very happy that Mahora's living with a demon now. He's a bit of a troublemaker and some of his companions have a difficult time working together with him, though he also seems to have his own problems... I’m cropping this CG for reasons but you can see the full one on the website.

Touka (透佳) He's quite famous in time because of his beautiful appearance. Currently residing at the local inn, where he also seems to work sometimes. (Reminds me of Misaki from Taisho Mebiusline...)

Haru (晴) An interesting individual who suddenly saved Mahora one day. He has the power to manipulate the mysterious being in town. He's interested in demons and wants to be friends with Mahora. Has a bit of an arrogant attitude and sometimes lacks common sense. 

Souma (綜万) A being known as a ''cursed child''. Not much is known about him but he seems to get along with Mahora. 

I’m curious if this game will have a fifth route because the website shows another CG in which one of the demons (Yae) seems to be attacking Mahora? I’m guessing he’s the same guy mentioned in the sympnosis who wants Shuu to return to his side.

In the interview the company recently published, the director, Matsuyama Tomoyo, mentioned that the atmosphere of this game might feel a bit different than any of the previous games Holicworks released, because it’s a completelty different team this time. Though like previous games the protag is the bottom and all the love interests are tops. 

They also confirmed the game will have some horror themes, but it won’t be the main focus of the story. Even though it’s always twilight, there will be plenty of bright and cheerful scenes as well! I’m also really liking the CG artwork so far! The artist uses a pseudonym (Anji Aizawa) but if you’re a fan of a certain horror themed otome game you might be able to see the similarities.

Gue merasa perlu untuk menuliskan isi kepala ini menyambut bilangan usia yang baru. Pertama-tama, Selamat 24 tahun, Ganteng... Terima kasih untuk bertahan sejauh ini.

Di perjalanan menuju titik ini, atau setahun ini agaknya perlu me-highlight sesuatu yang membuat gue bertahan dan bisa untuk tetap chills. Kpop. Iya, gue mendengar jenis musik yang memberikan gelombang baru untuk dunia. Kpop shapes The World, believe it or not.

Begitu juga dengan gue, KPop sedikit banyak mengubah gue. Mendalami KPop tidak hanya mendengarkan, mengikuti tariannya, tapi jauh dari itu mendalami bagaimana kehidupan idol di negeri ginseng tersebut. Merupakan sesuatu yang tidak gue sesali harus invest waktu, kuota, dan emosi untuk dunia per KPop-an ini.

"To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in suffering" Kata Mz Nietzsche sih begitu. Ya keliatanlah di dunia peridol-an juga gitu. Untuk membentuk talent yang kita-kita nikmati, butuh waktu training yang panjang, butuh pengorbanan untuk mereka akhirnya debut. Air mata, keringat, dan mungkin sendi-sendi dan otot-otot yang lelah sudah tidak bisa dikalkulasikan. Setelah debut, bukan berarti udah bahagia dan sukses. Banyak yang harus merasakan pahitnya tidak terkenal, atau simply karya lo ngga membuahkan hasil.

Acara idol survival membuat mata gue lebih terbuka. Bahwa dunia ini emang tempat berjuang. Gagal, ya lo harus tetap yakin sama talent lo, harus tetap yakin sama destiny lo as idol. Ngga semuanya punya mental kaya gini. Gue pun merasa masih mental helaian rumput laut, tipis kali, walaupun udah usia karatan untuk idol mau debut.

Kalau kata Mas Andreas Senjaya "Dunia itu tempatnya berjuang, istirahatnya nanti saja di surga." Iya, kalau ada. Tapi udah fakta yang ngga bisa terbantahkan, untuk bertahan, lo harus berjuang. Ada pahit yang harus lo rasakan dalam berjuang, tapi lebih pahit ketika lo hidup cuma jadi pecundang.

Jujur, gue masih define diri gue sebagai pecundang. Seberapapun orang-orang sekitar gue bilang you are not, still I am. Gue udah tua, untuk menentukan lapangan juang mana gue mau bertarung. Setahun ini, gue udah merasakan pahit dan sakitnya menjadi pecundang yang tidak tahu medan juangnya. Setahun ini gue merasakan ngga enaknya jadi kerbau kehilangan pasak hidungnya. Setahun ini gue lahir dengan pemahaman-pemahaman baru.

Bersyukur masih bisa merenung.

First of; They really chose a bad day. I get that there was no way around it due to their concert scedule in general, but like; Thursday. Mh. Nah. So I live like five hours away from Cologne (by train) and yeah that was already fun, but, oh well, you know, me, a dedicated fan, gives no shits. Five hours on a Thursday. Plus it was obvious that I would have to sleep there, so friday got involved too.

My mum let me go and I missed two days of school which is actually awesome so no complaints there

So.

I went together with a friend who also likes 24K and yeah we did all that travelling and we thought; hey we can easily be at the concert venue around 4pm, (they opened and started letting the VIPs in at 5pm) like dis should work out, all nice and shit.

Well It didn’t

I’m not gonna go into detail but there were problems at the hotel and just yeh so we happened to turn up there around 5:20pm (it was dark, it was raining, urg) and we thought “lol we’re gonna be like at the very end of the line and at the back of the hall” Jokes on us for thinking that because after us a SHIT TON of people came, still, so it was actually not that bad

So we get in after waiting like one hour maximum (my phone died beforehead lol no picture taking for me) get rid of our jackets and shit and go in the ‘concert hall’ which was more of a club kinda thingy which was REALLY nice because no matter where you stood you could still see the stage quite close

NOW THE CONCERT

they started with BINGO which was THE SHIT and after that they played Oasis which is my FUCKING FAVOURITE SONG KJVHJAVSGFX. And like generally they played all their more famous songs (and some of their less know ones) and ‘Still’ was SUPER AMAZING and also Super Fly like DAMN what a powerful performance. Later Cory and Jeonguk had like a rap stage togetehr and I can tell you RAP GOD CORY IS A THING NOW!!! LIKE!!!! HE SLAY!!!! They also covered some songs like Bang Bang Bang and I lowkey felt bad because I felt like the crowd was more excited for that song than for some of the 24K songs. But yo that might just be me who thought that... Also I was kinda unlucky because I stood in this small amount of people who JUST WOULDN’T GET TURNED. EVER. And I was yelling and dancing and having the time of my life while they just kinda ‘yeh’ Overall the crowd was kinda cool tho and we had like improvised lightsticks and half assed actual fanchants and very energetic ‘scream all the english words and the korean parts you know’ fanchants. It was great. They did awesome but I thought they looked quite tired (especially Jeonguk so I tried my best to be as energetic as possible so that they won’t have a hard time.

There were also quite some talking sequenzes and of course Cory did most of the talking and he was super cool like what a chill and nice guy is this man please how. Also all of the members of course talked too, and when it was Hong seobs turn he couldn’t really start because people kept screaming stuff at him. Like he needed a solid minute to recover from a very loud ‘SEXY’ from the back of the hall. Also we were like often a bit loud so Cory and Kisu kept shushing us but yeh Changsun became like my bias wrecker number 1 during that concert because he’s just. He’s just really cool ok. Like. Really cool. Also his smile is like the fucking sun I’m not joking. I love. Be my friend. He and Hongseob had a dance stage (later joined by Jeonguk) and it was SUPER AWESOME. THEY’RE SO TALENTED I CRY THANK GOD THEY JOINED THE GROUP. Hui was very quiet, as expected, and he struggled with his korean but he was super sweet and yall; BOY GOT STAGE PRESENCE. LIKE. HOLY SHIT BRUH.  SO FABULOUS. SO BADASS. So. Jinhong. My guy, my dude. WHEN DID HE BECOME SO CUTE THE FUCK!?!? His voice is like EXTREMELY cute and high and he was like walking aegyo by just... doing nothing?! What the fuck?! Also he and Hongseob were like very much in their own smoll maknae line world because they kept talking to each other and annoyed each other a lot which was very very heart warming. Kisu looked good and Kisu KNEW that he looked good. Also he talked most besides Cory (we had a translator btw but Cory translated a lot too) and he has super nice and well yeah sassy and just Kisu and I’m so thankful that I got to see him. ALso his vocals are honestly like super good!?!?

Jeonguk seemed a little tired to me, but besides the fact that they probably ARE really tired, he still slayed and he went super crazy and definitely gave his all. His dancing was SUPER IMPRESSIVE like he is incredibly good and he looked like he had so much fun while doing his little solo stage. Hongseob WAS A FUCKING TEASE. like can u stop. Also he was super cute and sweet and joked around with the members a lot. I actually had a present for him but I forgot about it sadly so it’ll never reach him. Oh well. He definitely had fun while performing like he even joked around with everyone during the stages but he also performed like really good in general and just. YOU GO SEOBS. YOU GO.

Cory was his usual cool self, shutting us up, making sure everyone gets to talk, translating for us, hyping us up (make some noise!) Also he sang SUPER good and he joked with us and yah; He was like OBSESSED with Schnitzel. He kept saying it, yelling it, and eventually used it as his team name with Hongseob when they played a game with the fans.

AND THIS GAME. I WILL FOREVER REGRET MY FUCKING LIVE. NO JOKE.

Cause they like devided themselfes in three teams 1. Team 24KU (Changsun + Jinhong cringing to the moon and back) 2. Team Schnitzel (Hngseob + Cory) 3. team ??? I couldn’t understand it properly (Jeonguk + Kisu + Hui)

and then THEY CHOSE THREE FANS TO COME ON STAGE AND TEACH THEM BINGO AND LET THEM HAVE A DANCE BATTLE AND GET A SIGNED CD AND STAND NEXT TO THEM AND TALK TO THEM AND JUST FUCK FUUUUUCK I WANTED THIS SO BAD. LIKE. WHAT THE HELL. (I later saw one of the girls who got chosen waiting for the S-bahn and she was like smiling like she’d met the lord in person and I’M SO FUCKING JEALOUS I JUST HAGFHJADXJAC)

Then of course at some point the concert was over and all the sad people with general tickets (aka me) got thrown outside. Just that it took like half an hour because we had to wait AGES for out jackets while being very exhausted and dehydrated and we DIDN’T HAVE WATER.

Eventually we got out, and it was raining, and we went to the hotel and yeh

I had a wonderful time (even tho I couldn’t see sometimes because peple were holding up their phones like thanks can u not) and 24K are just super nice and precious people who are very very close to their fans and give all of it on stage. I’m glad I got to see them and they said they would come back to germany so I’m just praying it’s true and I’m trying that I can go and see them again one day!
