growing pains

today my childhood bedroom feels smaller than ever i stare at the stars speckling my ceiling just like they did all those years ago with glassy eyes lost in thought unable to do much more

the air is hot and the house is full i remember summers from lifetimes ago filled with bike rides and mountain hikes and ice cream and us ignoring my scraped knees as i clutched both of your hands in mine glaring down at the cracks in the sidewalk with those little blue eyes

the aching in my spine is much harder to dismiss and instead of blinking away tears i let them flow freely there's no one to pick me back up and cover my scabs with plasters and i wonder whether that's what made it all go away when i was still a girl

i try to pinpoint at what point i got so difficult to love think of the distance that grew between us the older i got but then i remember watching you walk out over dinner at five and crying at the screams over spilled sugar on the table at seven and with a new ache realise that things have always been this way

my hands were too tiny and my heart far too big to understand that before now

as i mull over the sound of your soft scolding voice your small attempts at conversation left unanswered on an open note i don't know which is worse -

the thought that you were always capable of being better or the thought that it's far too late for any of that to matter now

es ist immer noch Juni, kaum zu glauben. Juni, in seinen letzten Atemzügen. Einige Gewitter später und die Sonne scheint immer noch, immer noch verwöhnt mich das Wetter mit seinen Vorzügen. Es ist Mittsommer und wie jedes Jahr versetzt mir diese Erkenntnis einen derben Schlag, zerschlägt meine Traumblase, lässt sie platzen und mich realisieren, das alles vergänglich ist, so wie auch dieser Sommer, obwohl er natürlich erst begonnen hat. Die Wärme, die mich umgibt, sie lässt mich nicht mehr erstarren. Das Grün, das mich umgibt, es lässt mich nicht mehr sterben wollen, weil es lebt, weil alles um mich herum lebt und blüht und summt und zwitschert und ganz simpel...existiert. Ich existiere! Es ist erschreckend einfach im Grau des Nebels zu verschwinden, im Haus nicht aus dem Fenster zu blicken, sich in der frühen Dunkelheit zu verstecken. Das Leben ist ein anderes, aber solange es noch dauern wird, solange bleibt es Zukunft und die Gegenwart ist eine andere und das Feuer wird heute lodern, voll Leidenschaft und Hitze. Es wird knistern und das Holz in sich zusammenfallen. Es wird sich in meine Augen spiegeln, vielleicht werden sie etwas brennen, meine Haut wird sich warm anfühlen. Eine ganz andere Art der Wärme, nicht wie die Wärme der Sonne, sondern ganz einfach, die eines Feuers und dabei werde ich an das Feuer im Kamin denken, an die kalten Winter und eisigen Nächte, doch mit der sicheren Gewissheit, morgen ist es Sommer und mein inneres Feuer ist immer noch intakt, es flammt und erleuchtet meine Seele, jeden einzelnen Tag. Es ist immer noch Juni und das Leben steht wie still, für einen langen Moment, für einen ganzen Monat.

joongdunk vampire bl when??

maybe you've already seen my post "reasons why i need a sexy joongdunk bl". and if you have, then maybe you remember the bonus vampire section at the end

well, i've decided to start collecting vampire mentions here in this own separate post. here i will collect instances where either joong or dunk actually utters the word "vampire" but i will also include things somewhat adjacent to vampires (looking at you, lol fanfast 2023 dum dum neck biting action 👀)

i'll keep updating this post with every future vampire mention that i happen to come across. if you happen to find a vampire mention that is not yet in this post but you think it should be on the list, then do feel free to send me a link to it and i might just add it!! some of them, esp the vampire-adjacent things will be added based on vibes (my vibes, that is. it's my post so i get to put in it whatever the fuck i want)

Which role do you want to try playing the most? Up until now I've only gotten roles that speak a lot. Sometimes the lines are 3-4 pages long. If I get the opportunity, I want to try switching to a role that speaks little, that is calm and serious and where the emphasis is on using eyes and gestures to convey emotions. A fantasy or sci-fi role like a vampire might be worth a try.
