I’ve watched the Midsomer Murders with Ferdinand Kingsley strictly for him and here are my thoughts:
- 22x01 if anyone cares
- I had seen every early episode on this show but I haven’t been watching in about a decade, the last episodes I watched were just after Barnaby left, so yeah, ~ a decade. How are there any people still alive in that village if there are, on average, 3 murders every 12 weeks.
- it wasn’t really hard to guess who the murderer was or maybe I’m just that good
- best Ferdie look since 1389!Hob. No, I’m not taking any questions.
- he was a bit of a wet dog. A little scrimblo. A bit of an eeby deeby. 11/10 I’d change nothing
- he was in it much more than I thought he’d be! I honestly thought he’s going to be killed off early in it but no, he endures throughout the episode
- you can absolutely headcanon it as Hob just having a wee break in a notorious murder village
- he’s just really passionate about glamping, ok?

NCIS 22x01 & NCIS Origins 01+02 (Premiere)
Highlight of NCIS 22x01 — Torres is never short of any undercover missions! Narcotics are nothing new, but his operation ended up taking Parker to California, where Jessica's current REACT workplace is. I can't believe she, Palmer, & Victoria have been counting the number of days since Jessica left & the "breakup"! @_@ I watched NCIS Sydney & think that Inspector Laroche resembles Colonel Rankin. Both have that cunning vibe, but there haven't been enough episodes to explain anything yet. The fact that the reverend was the cartel boss (literally "El Padre") was something expected (given all the foreshadowing), but I didn't expect the lawyer to be involved too. Jessica & Parker played well! But it's agonizing to know in the premiere that there's ALREADY ANOTHER MOLE in the agency! >:V
Highlight of NCIS Origins 01+02 — The vintage aesthetics look great so far! The NIS office looks like a mix of NOLA & Sydney's offices (in my opinion). Did anyone else think of (older) Criminal Minds episodes after seeing the cabin "decorations" which the park ranger called "ain't godly"? (IYKYK) And does anyone think that Bernard Randolf resembles Ned Dorneget? (Randy & Dorney!) I appreciate how the premiere featured murders by sniper shots because we all know that nobody can take the sniper out of Gibbs. In the end, the "jealous boyfriend" confessed to all the sharpshooter murders… which is surprising because you'd think his hands would be unstable while high on narcotics!

Hey Cate, I was wondering something. So, I was doing research for a fic. But there's an incoherence about Hotch's birthday too! In 5x01 the hospital files said Aaron is 43 and the serie took place in 2009, which would mean he was born in 66. But in 22x01 Hotch looked at his highschool yearbook 1987 and he said he was in his junior year...which means he was 16-17 so also means he was born between 70-71. So...WHEN IS BORN AARON ? :o How old is he?
I’ve made a couple of posts about the inconsistencies with Spencer’s birthday but I’ve never made one about Aaron’s!
I don’t have a good answer for this, I’m sorry. And this is further complicated by what he says in Emily’s first episode. She was going off to Yale when they first met, meaning she was 18/19 and Penelope found that high school yearbook picture of her (I can’t remember the year, ugh!) but Aaron says that running checks on her mother’s staff was one of his first commands which means by that point, he had gotten an undergraduate degree and a law degree, been a lawyer for long enough to get sick of it and then became an fbi agent, which is probably a minimum of 10 years and that would make him at least 10 years older than Emily which doesn’t really seem right in my mind
Another odd thing is that if he were born anytime between 1966 and 1971 and Haley is his high school sweetheart, why did they wait so long to have Jack?
I guess we should just be thankful they could decide on it being November 2nd and somehow they managed to keep that consistent

My thoughts as I’m watching 24 seasons of law & order svu: (and oc)
Season 22
22x01, they have a fascinating mask policy, wearing them while coming up to someone and once they are there, they take them off.
22x03, is there a backstory on Benson speaking Italian? Warner!!
22x04, Barba. I thought Carisi did well against Barba.
22x05, it is kinda funny that they always bring up that the perp couldn't bring it up.
22x06, I like this judge.
22x07, that seemed predictable.
22x09, Stabler is back!!!! Doesn't really make sense that SVU is handling this case. I like how Stabler introduced himself to Tamin and Carisi. He will definitely not behave. Benson watching this interrogation, just waiting for Stabler to blow. We get a roof scene, that hasn't happened for a long time. Way to rub it in about them not talking for 10 years. The acting is so good!! Well, Benson still has his back, so that’s a start. When Fin was talking about the one solid relationship, I know he meant Tucker, but wasn't her relationship with Cassidy longer? And she apparently did consider having his kids. That defense lawyer was kinda funny. That last shot was just perfect!
So from here on out it will be a svu and oc review.
OC 1x01, I like this intro. Don’t give her the letter… Stabler finally standing up for himself. Well, that was just rude at the end there.
OC 1x02, I didn't expect Benson to show up again in the second episode. I appreciate that we see Stabler grieve a bit.
22x11, Fin is very much butting in on Benson/Stabler. Not a fan of Garland telling Benson to keep her distance from Stabler.
OC 1x03, go Stabler, smug bastard as always.
22x12, Carisi constantly being mistaken as Rollins‘ husband/boyfriend is funny.
OC 1x04, Intervention! Worst timing to say "I love you". I’ve never seen that second part of the intervention though. Elliot has no concept of when people want to sleep.
22x13, I like that Stabler is acknowledged by pretty much everyone on svu. Benson and Stabler interrogating someone together is just chef's kiss!
OC 1x05, Elliot is an idiot (Not really, but that was stupid). Why does Benson tell him to keep doing it?!? (I know she doesn't know what he does, but still). So this is where the handholding in the hallway took place. I mean, I feel a little bad for Elliot, but only a little.
OC 1x07, Elliot and Ayanna seem to be good partners. I haven’t said it before, but I really like Jet! Wheatley really said that Kathy wasn't Elliot's love of his life.
22x16, here comes McGrath. Rollins and Carisi, finally! And Benson and Stabler at the wedding.
OC 1x08, I don’t like Wheately, but I like his understanding of Stabler and Benson. Elliot exclaiming he needs help rings true in so many ways.
Favorite Episodes: 22x09, 22x16, OC: 1x04, 1x07 and 1x08
Favorite Line:
"You were the most… single most important person in my life, and you just disappeared" - Benson to Stabler 22x09
"You’re still a stupid little Meatball" - OC 1x01
"Liv, you mean the world to me." - Stabler OC, 1x02
"He went, he didn't come." - Warner 22x13

I actually love Muncy, I think much like she was with Amanda at the start, Olivia is being quite cold.
You think Olivia is being cold to Muncy? I mean arguably she is giving more of a tough love approach but she hand picked Muncy. Or are you talking about making her listen to the tape of Velasco as a loyalty test?
If I am being honest, this upcoming storyline is interesting but I also have no clue where they are going with it. This current version of Law & Order SVU is very old school blatant propaganda.
Now before I explain further, I think it is important to note that the character Olivia Benson was based on Linda Fairsteen who was the prosecutor of the “central-park five” now known as the exonerated five. If you do not know this case, I suggested you look it up. Police falsified so much information and intimidated the then boys into giving false confessions. Law & Order is copaganda through and through.
Throughout SVU, we see countless instances of police brutality. Now arguably, seeing it - especially to people who did/are suspected of doing heinous r@pes/murders - justifies the cops’ actions to us the viewers. The conversation of copaganda was brought to forefront during protests against police brutality and the murder of George Floyd in summer 2020. Following that most cop shows - including SVU - address this in storylines. At the end of 22x01 Olivia recognizes that she needs to do better.
Now, with the SVU storyline of the BX9 and working with NYPD in the Bronx, we see Olivia be the level headed one compared to Duarte who we do not know if he pushed one of the gang members off the rough or if he accidentally fell (as the official reports decided). However, Olivia’s change towards colouring outside of the lines comes after the gang attacked her and attempted to k!ll Noah. Again this justifies her not following protocol or what’s “right” to us viewers because of how heinous the bad guys are. One thing that shocked me, was Olivia punching Oscar Papa’s driver. Although it was his request to make it seem like he wouldn’t snitch, that was a lawsuit waiting to happen. Now in 24x12, we see them do anything to try and get Papa. Olivia threatens Papa in front of his lawyer several times and the fact his lawyer didn’t call her out on that is so unrealistic and insane. And at the same time Velasco goes to the extreme of giving a prisoner cocaine while in prison.
This Velasco storyline is arguably the most interesting in showing copaganda and the issue with police. Detective Tonie (the one who recorded his convo) did the right thing and reported him. However, the reaction of Muncy — blindly defending Velasco (and also Duarte when Olivia was questioning if he could’ve pushed the BX9 guy off the roof)— is a giant problem. The blue shield (cops defending cops) is the core issue with the police. Because even if only 1/10 cops are “bad seeds” if 8/10 cops would never do said bad action but will also cover up for said bad cop then they themselves are also bad cops. Benson covered for Stabler throughout the series and would blindly cover for him too if she was put in Muncy’s position. And of course it’s not surprising that the only cop who did report it who did do the right thing was a guest character that will probably never be seen again.
Sorry this is a really long response that turned into a rant. I know this show is copaganda no matter what but it’s interesting how quickly shows have gone back to showing “justified” police brutality.
